Horus Lupercal had a flawless plan to kick off his massive rebellion: send 100,000 loyalist Space Marines down to the surface of Isstvan III under the guise of compliance, sever their communications, and obliterate them with Life-Eater Virus bombs. The atmosphere would literally ignite, and 12 billion souls would evaporate in an instant. Clean, efficient, and devastating.
Well, not quite. This week, Bricky, DK, and Kirioth dive headfirst into the blood-soaked tragedy of the Isstvan III Atrocity. We cover the desperate flight of Nathaniel Garro on the Eisenstein, Saul Tarvitz's heroic last-minute warning that allowed 2/3rds of the loyalists to seek shelter, and the agonizing final stands of legendary Astartes like Ancient Rylanor and Ullis Temeter.
