The Silent Call from the Cellar

In this chilling tale from a Scottish police officer, a routine night shift takes an unsettling turn when a silent 999 call draws him and his partner to an abandoned countryside inn. What begins as a standard welfare check soon becomes something far more mysterious — with no guests, no working landlines… and a disconnected rotary phone in a locked cellar that somehow dialed for help. Was it a glitch in the system, a haunting echo of the past, or something much stranger?
