Forgotten in the shadows and crippled by circumstances, Mephibosheth carried a brokenness he could never fix. The grandson of King Saul and son of Jonathan, he lost his family in battle at just five years old. An accident then left him disabled for life. He was vulnerable, impoverished, and completely alone.

But King David changed everything when he asked, "Is there anyone left of Saul’s family to whom I can show God’s kindness?" David didn't just offer charity; he rescued Mephibosheth, brought him into the palace, and made him part of the royal family.

Today, millions of children live in a similar shadow of vulnerability. And every year, Operation Christmas Child answers the call of our King, delivering shoebox gifts to more than 11 million of the world's most needy children.

These gifts are a tangible expression of Jesus' love, but the mission goes far deeper than a box. While these children need school supplies and hygiene items, their greatest need is spiritual transformation through the Gospel.

God uses our generosity to meet temporal needs - so that Jesus Christ can be revealed to needy hearts. The King of Kings wants to rescue, redeem, and adopt these precious children into His eternal family. By packing shoeboxes, we become the hands and feet of the King, extending His royal invitation and delivering the greatest gift of all to vulnerable children around the world!
