From the St. Ignatius Chapel at the Manresa Jesuit Spiritual Renewal Center in Pickering, Ontario. The National Catholic Broadcasting Council presents the Daily TV Mass.

Welcome to the celebration of the Daily TV Mass. I'm Father Hank van Myel. The televising of this Mass is made possible by the contribution from three donors. The first is the estate of James Daly of Fredericton, New Brunswick, for the repose of the souls of James Daly, his wife of 70 years, Joan Daly, and departed members of the family, for their descendants to return to the church and for respect for human life from conception to natural death.

The second is the Coelho family from St. Timothy's Paris in Toronto in thanksgiving for blessings received, for special intentions of family and friends, good health, peace, and spiritual well-being of family members, and for the souls in purgatory, especially those who have no one to pray for them. The third is the Rodriguez and Amaral families from Toronto, Ontario, in loving memory of their parents and all deceased family members, and for the souls in purgatory, for the health, well-being, and intentions of their living family members, and for world peace.

Our thanks to our donors for the gift of this Mass. In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen. The peace of the Lord be with you. And with your spirit. And as we have placed ourselves before the Lord, just like Blessed Marie Rose de Rosier did about 200 years ago, knowing that she was weak, knowing that she needed God's guidance at every breath she took.

You were sent to heal the contrite of heart. Lord have mercy. You came to call sinners, Christ have mercy. You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us. Lord, have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. And let us pray. Lord, who kindled in the heart of Blessed Marie Rose de Rosier, the flame of adherent charity and a great desire to cooperate in the mission of the Church as a teacher, grant us that same active love so that in responding to the needs of the world today, we may lead our sisters and brothers to the blessedness of eternal life.

True, O Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

A reading from the letter of Paul to the Galatians. My brothers and sisters, you have heard, no doubt, of my earlier life in Judaism. I was violently persecuting the Church of God and was trying to destroy it. I advanced in Judaism beyond many among my people of the same age, for I was far more zealous of the traditions of my ancestors.

But when God, who had set me apart before I was born and called me through his grace, was pleased to reveal his son to me, so that I might proclaim him among the Gentiles, I did not confirm with any human being, nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were already apostles before me. But I went away at once into Arabia, and afterwards I returned to Damascus.

Then after three years I did go up to Jerusalem to visit to visit Cephas and stayed with him fifteen days. But I did not see any other apostle except James, the brothers, the Lord's brother. In what I am writing to you before God, I do not lie. Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia, and I was still unknown by sight to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.

They only heard it said, The one who formerly was persecuting us is now proclaiming the faith he once tried to destroy. And they glorified God because of me. The word of the Lord.

And are acquainted with all my ways. Guide me Lord along the ever lasting way. For it was you who formed my inward part. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works that I know very well. Guide me Lord along the ever lasting way.

Intricately woven in the depths of the earth, your eyes beheld my unformed substance. Guide me lord along the everluia Alléluia Alléluia Alléluia Aleluia Aleluya. Blessed are they who is the word of God and kid Aleluia Alluia.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke. Now, as Jesus and his disciples went on the way, he entered a certain village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to what he had to say. But Martha was distracted by her many tasks, so she came to him and asked, Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself?

Then tell her then to help me. But the Lord answered her, Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her. There is work, we all have to work. If you don't work, you will not eat. It's as simple as that.

And but we also have to have that time to be quiet and to pray. And it's so important to have that time to listen what God is doing. And even if we go to a monastery, a prayer, a closed monastery, a prayer of community, they still have to work and they still have to have an income for the sustenance.

But so this listening is so important. And sometimes in our life, that listening can become more important. And actually, in today's reading of the letter to the Galatians, Saint Paul is talking about that. He's there defending himself because there was this dispute about circumcision, that the Gentiles, some Jewish people, they said they have to be the Gentiles who come to us who follow Christ have to be circumcised.

And there was no need for that. And Saint Paul he is explaining in the letter to Galatians, is explaining this, but he's also saying what authority he had. And he clearly explains that his authority comes from God. And we all know the story how Saint Paul he was persecuting the early Christians, and on the road to Damascus Jesus set him straight.

He was knocked off his high horse. There never was a horse in Scripture, but it's a good metaphor for his ego. And Saint Paul, who was a Pharisee, who was well educated and who knew the law word by word, but he was not he did not listen. And so his ego carried him through and going after the Christians who were in his mind and in the Jewish leadership mind, just some people who did not have it right until he got it right and he was set straight.

And it says right here, he went for three years to Arabia, and we would say, what the heck was he doing in Arabia after he was knocked off his horse? And Arabia was a time of transformation. Transformation, he had to come to grip with his life. He was so educated he had to listen to what God was doing for him.

He had to listen and giving up his control over his life and give it to God. And that takes some time. In my own life too, I uh when my life came to a head, I there were a number of years I had to rediscover myself who I was in God. And in that, all just like St. Paul, all that was important before became not important at all.

And all that matters is God. And and this is so important for all of us. And it is it is good to uh to be aware of it, that listening is so important in daily life. Today we remember Blessed Marie, Marie Rose de Rosier. She died actually at a very early age, at age 38 of a wasting disease. And she was well educated from Quebec, the French part of Canada, and she was well educated by her family.

She was the daughter of a very well-to-do farmer, and she for 10 years she served her brother who was a priest and took care of his affairs. And in that, as in her own in her own prayer life and observations, she became aware of the need for schooling for children, especially children of lower-income families.

And as time went on and different things fell in place, by uh with the assistance of Bishop Bourget and obelite fathers, she started with two other sisters, just a tiny little school, and for low-income families, for children of low-income families, and it really rose out of her listening. And again, this is the Martha and Mary thing.

She had to the work, just like Martha, running a school, there's a lot of work involved, but also as a religious to take her time to listen, daily listening. And I have to do that. I'm very busy here at Manrisa and other things, but I have to take that time to listen to where God is leading me, and that's a daily thing.

And of course, we as Jesuits we have the daily exam. Usually my family, or sorry, my community, they laugh with me. At supper time, I say, gotta go to my cave. And my cave is my room, so to speak, is my place where I can center myself, look back over the day, where is God leading me, and also to bring up the struggles, the difficulties what are in my life.

And somehow in that answers will come and I will be carried forward. I do not have the answers. And Saint Paul, in his own way, he had to discover that he did not have the answers, but that he has to rely on God to help God through him, through his mission. And as we know, Saint Paul was really one of the greatest missionaries in the early church and left a great shadow on the church, a great body of teaching how to move forward.

And it's good stuff to pray with. And especially again, maybe for each one of us to say, How am I doing? Am I too much of a Martha or am I too much of a Mary? There has to be a balance. Amen. So let us bring our prayers before the Lord. We pray for all those in the daily TV Mass Prayer Intention Book.

We pray to the Lord. Let us pray that during this month of the Rosary, families may gather in prayer, finding in it a source of strength, unity, love for their daily lives. We pray to the Lord. This month we pray with Pope Leo that the mental health ministry be established throughout the church, helping to overcome the stigma and discrimination of persons with mental illness.

We pray to the Lord. We pray for all teachers who answered God's calling to be God's light for generations of students coming through the school system, especially schools sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Name of Jesus and Mary, founded by Blessed Marie Rose de Rocher. We pray to the Lord. And for these prayers and the prayers in the silence of our own hearts, we lift them up to you, Lord.

Amen. Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you, fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life. By the mystery of this water and wine may we come to share an advantage of Christ who humbled himself to share in our humanity.

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you, fruit of the vine and work of human hands. It will become our spiritual drink.

Blessed be as God forever.

That humble spirit and contrite heart may we be accepted by you, O Lord, and may your sacrifice in your sight this day be pleasing to you, Lord God. Wash me, O Lord, from my iniquities. Cleanse me of my sins. Thank you. Pray, my sisters and brothers, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.

Sacrifice to our hands, to the pleasure and glory of our Jesus' name for our benefit to the Father and Holy Church.

As we proclaim your wonders, O Lord, in the blessed in the Virgin Blessed Marie Rose de Rocher, we humbly implore your majesty that as her merits are pleasing to you, so too our dutiful service may find favor in your sight through Christ, O Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you. Lift up your hearts. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere, to give you thanks, Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God, for in the saints who consecrated themselves for Christ for the sake of the kingdom of heaven, it is right to celebrate the wonders of your providence, by which you call human nature back to its original holiness and bring it to the experience on this earth the gifts you promise in the new world to come.

And so, with all the angels and saints, we praise you as without end we acclaim.

Holy holy, holy Lord God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Host in the O Lord, the fount of all holiness.

Make holy, therefore, these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion. He took bread and giving you thanks broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this all of you and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you.

In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this all of you and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Do this in memory of me. The mystery of faith.

Of the world for by your cross and resurrection you have set us free.

Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. Humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.

Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Leo or Pope, Francis or Bishop, the Order Bishop, the clergy, and the entire people you have called your own. Remember also our sisters and brothers who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy, welcome them into the light of your face.

Have mercy on us all. We pray that with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with the Blessed Joseph, your spouse, with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, that we may merit to be co-heirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Through him and with him and in him, O God Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, O glory and honor is yours for ever and ever. Amen. And at the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say, O Father, who are in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day your daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And temptation. Deliver us, Lord, we pray from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our days that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church, and graciously grant our peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign for ever and ever. The peace of the Lord be with you always. And let us offer each other a sign of peace.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world. Have mercy on us, Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.

Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be saved for John.

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in this holy sacrament of the altar. I love you above all things, and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come spiritually into my soul, so that I may unite myself wholly to you now and forever. Amen.

Renewed by partaking of this divine gift, we pray, O Lord, O God, that by the example of the blessed Marie Rose de Roger, bearing in our body the death of Jesus, we may strive to hold fast to you alone. Through Christ, O Lord. The Lord be with you. And may Almighty God bless you, Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

Amen. Go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life.

Our thanks to our donors for the gift of this month.
