Why This Tarot Reader Is Suing Pennsylvania Over an 1861 Law with Beck Ravenswood

What happens when a tarot reader is told they could face jail time simply for doing their job?
We’re joined by Beck Ravenswood, witch, tarot reader, and owner of The Serpent’s Key, to talk about the 1861 Pennsylvania law that makes fortune telling a crime and the federal lawsuit they’re fighting to have it struck down.
Beck takes us inside the moment local police showed up at their shop, why they refused to back down, and how a viral TikTok turned their experience into a much bigger conversation about religious freedom, discrimination, and the rights of spiritual practitioners.
We also dig into the troubling history behind fortune-telling laws, the importance of knowing your legal rights, and why this case could have an impact far beyond one tarot reader or one state.
Plus, Beck shares how the witchcraft community can get involved through collective ritual and real-world action, and why magical intention should always be met with mundane action.
This is a powerful conversation about community, courage, and what it means to stand up when outdated laws are still being used against marginalized practices.
