If you don't know anything about AI, that's okay. About four years ago, on the very first episode of this podcast, I promised you that I would help you learn the basics about AI in large language models. To learn along with me. And about 800 plus podcast episodes later, I hope I delivered on that promise.

And I hope you've learned a bit along the way about how AI works and how to apply it to grow your company and your career. Now it's time to turn the page. On today's show, I'm going to tell you about a new chapter in my life, what's next for everyday AI, and what it means for you. And I can always guarantee this will be the fastest episode ever, because if you've listened before, you know I get a little long-winded sometimes.

So let's get it started. If you're new here, welcome to the Everyday AI podcast. I'm Jordan Wilson, and for the last four years, yeah, I've shown up here every day, most days live at 7:30 a.m. And I've tried to make sense of this amazing yet perplexing technology that is artificial intelligence. But lately I've been kind of phoning in from home.

I've been a little absent, and people have been asking me, like, where have you been? Right? My my emails, uh, the LinkedIn machines, everyone's text messages. It's like, Jordan, where have you been? Well, I've technically been here, but we've been replaying our uh popular series called the Start Here series.

So throughout 2026, uh, you know, once or twice a week, uh, we put together a series called the Start Here series. And it was our essential guide for whether you were a beginner or an AI champion in your organizations to get caught up on the latest on certain topics and to get ahead. Uh, and we had played those throughout the entire year, and we decided, all right, well, we're gonna play these all one after another.

So I've still been here every day, but like I said, technically uh replaying some of our most popular podcast episodes ever. So I said it's a new chapter. What's next for me? What's this all about? Why aren't you just shutting up and telling me the AI news? Well, that's because I've started something new.

I recently started a new role at Open AI, and I'm very excited about it. So, what's next for this podcast then? Because you might be saying, well, if you just started a new full-time role, well, who's gonna be showing up here and you know, sorting through all this AI news for me and you know, doing demos and all these things.

And well, to answer that question, I don't know yet. All right. Uh, but I wanted to bring you along the uh the journey with me as I figure out what the heck is next for this everyday AI thing. Um, I've been talking with some amazing media event and tech companies over the last few weeks about potentially taking the show over.

And I hope to hand it over to a group that values your time as much as I have, right? And if you have listened to the show, whether it's, you know, you're kind of new here or, you know, I still get messages all the time, is like, hey, I've listened to every single episode. One thing I've always tried very hard to do uh through the last roughly four years is to hear from you.

Uh, not just like, hey, what type of shows do you like, what do you not like, but where are you keeping up with AI and where are you not? And as I've talked about um, you know, with a dozen or more potential groups about uh maybe taking over uh the day-to-day of everyday AI. Um I've I've been very intentional about finding the right fit for someone that values your time and can understand where you are in your challenges and who knows what's happening in this space.

That's so important. Uh, right. I I don't take for granted uh those of you that have tuned in over the years and have trusted me, right? And again, some of the messages are wild that I've received, right? I've I've received uh literal cold DMs from C-suite people at Fortune 500 companies said, Hey, I was gonna, you know, go down this route, you know, heard you say something in the podcast.

It was really well researched. We checked it out ourselves. You were right. Thanks for you know being ahead of the curve, right? So I've spent so, so much time to hopefully earn your trust, not just to, you know, grow the podcast. That's not what it was about. Uh, it was about I knew before I started this, that this AI thing, right?

I I knew it from when we started using it two years before Chat GPT came out. I'm like, this stuff, it's it's really powerful, but it's confusing if you don't spend the time to actually think, to research, and to test. And I know that not everyone has that time to do that every single day. So that's why it's it's been really important to me when talking with companies to really find someone number one that I trust can do a great job, um, but also that you can trust uh to help you navigate the um, you know, the the crazy world ahead.

Because as we all know, AI, even though I've technically quote unquote uh have taken a break from the show for a couple of weeks as we've brought you some uh back to back to back to back banger episodes, right? Um, but it just doesn't stop, right? AI doesn't stop. It's only getting faster, it's only getting more capable.

The model drops are only getting um you know more and more frequent. So it's it's really important that I find someone. So you might be asking why, right? Why, you know, why take a full-time role somewhere else? Well, if I'm being honest, when I started everyday AI, I didn't know how long it was gonna last.

Right. Um I I I I still remember when I started it, I I told my my my wife and one of my good friends uh on a road trip, and they're like, you might be crazy. Um maybe I was, but I didn't know when I started this if I was gonna do it for a couple months or a decade. Uh right. But I didn't start this thing to be a full-time podcaster.

Uh right. I told the story maybe once or twice before. I was a former journalist, so I actually started the podcast so that I could put out a daily newsletter. I love writing, I love reading, I love consuming information, right? Since I was a little kid, I've loved technology. I remember back, you know, as a teenager building my own computers and buying my first computer and you know, building websites like very early in the 90s, right?

Um, so I've always been kind of like a geek. And then, you know, I was a journalist and you know, I worked in marketing, I worked at a nonprofit. So it seemed to me like, you know, going back to 2020, when I started everyday AI, it seemed to be this kind of like no-brainer culmination of all my different skills.

Before ChatGPT came out, I understood the AI technology because OpenAI had released uh the GPT technology to other third parties. And my marketing company, I started, we used all of them every day. Um, so when ChatGPT came out, I understood it. And so many people were asking me about it and saying, like, hey, Jordan, I know you use all these tools.

Like, can you help me? Right. Um, and so after enough people had asked me about that, I'm like, oh, okay, well, there's something here. And that's when I just started, or that's when I decided to start everyday AI, uh, the unedited, unscripted live stream podcast and newsletter, right? Um, but I didn't think the podcast was gonna be the popular thing.

I just started the podcast. So in the newsletter, there would be something unique to write about every single day. Because the few AI newsletters I was listening to, or the few AI um newsletters I was reading, they were all kind of the same. And I was trying to learn AI a little bit more back in, you know, 2021, 2022.

And all the podcasts seemed like they were for people with machine learning backgrounds. And I'm like, well, where's the you know, four dummies version, right? Where's the four everyday people version of this? So when I started this, I started it number one for myself, uh, number two for the people around me.

But number three, I I I had a firm belief. Um, you know, even in 2020, 2021, that whatever this technology would become uh would eventually reshape the business world. And I think it's safe to say that yes, we are far past that now. But you know, when I started it, I I my goal was simple. I just wanted to make AI easy to understand.

And I wanted to help as many people as possible. So that goal is the same. But I think that right now, open AI actually just gives me the best platform to continue to do that, right? Um I'm not the best person to grow a podcast in a media company. Uh, even though I was a journalist, even though I'm in marketing, that's not what I necessarily think I'm for.

I want to find a way to continue to make AI simple to understand for as many people as possible. That was my original personal goal. It's still my original personal goal as um in my new full-time role. All right, so blah, blah, blah, Jordan, big deal. No one cares. Who's gonna tell me about what's happening in AI?

And what does that mean for this actual podcast when I go to listen tomorrow? Well, uh, probably nothing's gonna be there. All right. So I'm gonna be working on onboarding uh the right group to continue to bring you unbiased and authentic takes on the world of AI. All right, so there's gonna be a temporary, very likely a temporary pause in publishing as I get uh hopefully a new group started and ramped up.

All right, so there will be a temporary pause in publishing, whether that's a week or two or maybe a few months. I'm not sure. So if you haven't already, make sure if you're listening on Spotify, if you're listening on uh Apple Podcasts, or maybe you're listening on LinkedIn, I don't know. Um, but make sure you subscribe to the show, okay, if you haven't already.

And then um, so then when the show does come back, whether it's in a couple days, a couple weeks, a couple months, you're gonna know right away. But also make sure that you follow me on LinkedIn, uh on Twitter, because once uh the show is back up and running, I'm gonna be announcing it there. So thank you.

Right? It won't be the last time you hear from me. Uh, but to the millions of you that listen to me ramble, thanks. You know, to the business leaders, reading our newsletter, live stream, community, I appreciate it. To our amazing partners and sponsors over the years who uh entrusted me to help tell your story, I appreciate that.

Uh to all my friends, family, and my wife for the belief and support. My gosh, what a crazy idea. Uh you know, when no one had really heard of AI, for you know, people to believe in me and support me, uh you know, and then to be in the position I am now. Um thank you. That's all I can say. So like I said, shortest episode ever.

Uh I'm not signing off for good. This isn't a goodbye. This is to see you soon. So thank you for tuning in. Hope you tune back in next time for more everyday AI. Thanks, y'all.
