[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Fallout lorecast. [SPEAKER_02]: The podcast that explores the boundaries of our knowledge about the world of Fallout. [SPEAKER_02]: Wastelanders and Voltweller's welcome back to the Fallout lorecast. [SPEAKER_02]: We are discussing the final episode of Season 2 and when I say we, I've got John Back.

[SPEAKER_02]: John's back. [SPEAKER_02]: If you know John from, well, first of all, we did the recaps of all of Season 1 just what two months ago and yeah, and so John's back did talk to me and you all about his thoughts on the final end of the season and all of that. [SPEAKER_02]: We also do the Retro Recall podcast together where we get to go revisit games.

[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't played in 30 years like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Padletones and all sorts of things. [SPEAKER_02]: So go check that out. [SPEAKER_02]: And of course he does the 40K lore cast in all of that. [SPEAKER_02]: John, welcome back. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm so excited to talk about this episode with you and recap season a little bit.

[SPEAKER_03]: It was a really nice recap and had some amazing elements that say the least. [SPEAKER_03]: I was my wife was confused why I was tearing up at one point Yeah, yeah, yes, we're gonna get there for sure. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, there are some great moments This is a wonderful finale for the season, but there's so much to cover So I don't want to take too much of your time.

[SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna get right into it and I've typically I try to go seen by scene But there were lots of intercuts on this episode, so we're gonna go kind of topic by topic [SPEAKER_02]: So, let's start it off. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's start with the Legion. [SPEAKER_02]: We have some very quick moments, but very important moments, with the Legion and McColle Corkin's character.

[SPEAKER_02]: What did you think about that? [SPEAKER_03]: Well, first, I was confused why we had McColle Corkin for like seven minutes of a show. [SPEAKER_03]: Up until this point, I'm like, did they really just not use him? [SPEAKER_03]: He's kind of a famous actor. [SPEAKER_00]: Right? [SPEAKER_03]: You should have more of it.

[SPEAKER_03]: But I did like, I like that we kind of bought the Legion back in, because one thing I was upset about this point was the Legion where something that was mentioned. [SPEAKER_03]: And one thing for me was as a player of the games I know the Legion, but I haven't explained to I watch it with my wife, who's never played a single minute of fallout, and I've been to explain to her what the Legion is, why this is such a big deal, all these things.

[SPEAKER_03]: So I like them bringing the Legion back in, and obviously the discovery of Caesar saying there shall be no more, I guess it's like Kaiser. [SPEAKER_03]: And then McCalli Calkin' going, no, it doesn't. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he just beats the, he kills the guy, eats the thing, swallow's it, yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: And it becomes the new Kaiser. [SPEAKER_02]: So it makes sense that he was cast for something bigger than this, which I assume is going to play into season three, and we're getting a little head of myself, but if they continue into Colorado and further to the east, that's probably more legent territory.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, very much so. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that's where the legis supposedly came from. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: So we probably still is, I would assume, but that also opens up the ability for them to kind of go in any direction, because now they're not stuck with the things we know about New Vegas.

[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, tactics was kind of Colorado, but it tactics is a potential game. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's one of those entries where I believe Bethesda still considers it canon, but it's kind of a side entry in the series. [SPEAKER_02]: So I feel like they [SPEAKER_03]: And I'd have to look up the timing on tactics.

[SPEAKER_03]: What I don't know on tactics is when it's set. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Hospital tactics is old enough. [SPEAKER_03]: The Legion could have come through post. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure it was before Legion. [SPEAKER_02]: And it released before New Vegas. [SPEAKER_02]: So the Legion has been invented yet.

[SPEAKER_02]: So exact. [SPEAKER_02]: So chances are they're going to timeline. [SPEAKER_02]: Right, so this is what we're gonna do what they want with that in that area, but anyway The idea that Caesar was like, no, it ends with me. [SPEAKER_02]: I am the Legion all of that totally not surprised by that I mean we get characters like house in New Vegas who says he's quoted as saying things like They'll defy him but give it a year and they'll be breaking down meaning like the Legion will not survive without Kaiser and then Joshua Graham from New Vegas [SPEAKER_02]: says, um, he was, he was a former legate, legate, legate.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't pronounce that word. [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's legate. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm legate. [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, uh, uh, only, only Kaiser can lead the Legion. [SPEAKER_02]: The Legion dies without Kaiser. [SPEAKER_02]: So, I, that's pretty accurate.

[SPEAKER_02]: So, we're going to see McColle-Colkens character try to keep them together. [SPEAKER_02]: I would suppose, um, but, uh, one of the best quotes from this was at the end, where he says, together, we will reclaim the holy land [SPEAKER_02]: immediately is funny because Sin City is now the holy land right but then the part two of the parts of this there will build a palace where the of our empire empire Kaiser's palace Caesar's palace yeah we just a famous casino yeah it was a great it was so dry with no sense of like the irony anything so good so here let's move on to when [SPEAKER_02]: The ghoul walks into house's office and then of course house appears and starts talking to him.

[SPEAKER_02]: Did you have any thoughts about this scene before I go into any of the specifics? [UNKNOWN]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: One thing I did when I mentioned back when we talked about Kaiser was the burned man, Joshua Graham. [SPEAKER_03]: Joshua, right? [SPEAKER_03]: Is a piece of it because that's kind of the other piece here is that we've had within the Kaiser's Legion people almost defect and move away.

[SPEAKER_03]: And this is where you do see the brutality seems to be the trick to it. [SPEAKER_03]: So this is where McColle Hawkins character coming into this. [SPEAKER_03]: This is more just me personally because it's McCawley Cawkin. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm actually really interested in what he can do in season three because this character, this role, the only way that you could unify that legion is to be absolute brutality.

[SPEAKER_02]: And dumb and that's kind of a little dumbness. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm excited to kind of see because I think of the stuff Joshua Graham in the expansion talked about with Kaiser and I'm excited to see can you know what do they do with this character coming forward because that was Kaiser Caesar's Legion was they were just brutal [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's the burned man for a reason.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, he was kind of amazing. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and he's top of a side of a cliff or whatever. [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, yeah, so we don't have time to get into that. [SPEAKER_02]: But totally, if you're interested in that, I'm sure I've discussed him a little in more detail.

[SPEAKER_02]: Previous episodes, especially with patrons, patrons of probably brought him up if I recall, in those episodes. [SPEAKER_02]: But here, let's move on to the Google and House. [SPEAKER_02]: What did you think about when they started having their conversation? [SPEAKER_03]: Again, a nice little backstory gives us a bit more kind of emphasis into how house things house in now obviously is a computer now.

[SPEAKER_03]: So I liked that little instrument of it. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: And the whole idea though, I mean, this whole thing of the two of them when they go for their walk is this amazing. [SPEAKER_03]: I was always wondering how they were going to give us more information. [SPEAKER_03]: How are you?

[SPEAKER_03]: How do you bring this all together? [SPEAKER_03]: This was cool. [SPEAKER_03]: So that conversation starts off with, you know, you're like, okay, he's just going to tell him where it is. [SPEAKER_03]: No, there's always more with house and how so he's has to get something back. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because I can skip it.

[SPEAKER_02]: So he's a win. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he said we like it or not, everyone eventually works for me, which [SPEAKER_02]: which I think is going to play in season three. [SPEAKER_02]: Before we get into it, I was, I liked how House was not surprised at all by the Google's appearance. [SPEAKER_02]: He knew exactly who he was.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's almost as if he predicted that you are one of those variables, and you showed back up again, and I thought maybe that would happen. [SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't say that, but you get that sense of it. [SPEAKER_02]: He also mentions little things like he was only slightly off about the timing of the end of the [SPEAKER_02]: the on-clave, which is confirmed, and then the comment about eventually everyone works for me if we jump ahead to the end of the episode, it ends with Lucy and Max in house's office.

[SPEAKER_02]: And he's a flash, yeah, he's he's there like we know that screen that screen doesn't mean that house isn't there it just means he's not talking to you right now and he kind of blips on the screen and I have expectations that season three will start with a conversation between them in house and that's going to kind of catapult things in a specific direction.

[SPEAKER_03]: You guys think Lucy? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think Lucy and House become a very interesting combination because it is this this element of she wants to know more about the world She wants to know more about and actually Maximus as well house. [SPEAKER_03]: I think that the character arc of house in this season was very interesting [SPEAKER_03]: when we played the game, house was kind of a bad guy.

[SPEAKER_03]: Then to start of the season, he looks like a very bad guy. [SPEAKER_03]: But by the end of the season, you're a little bit confused of, he's a bad guy, but when we're getting, we're not wreck it Ralph level yet, but we're getting more into that like, well, how bad was house in the sense of, or was house just trying to survive and while surrounded by horrid?

[SPEAKER_02]: you know it's right was he doing terrible things that he felt justified for because the people he was competing with were worse yes right but that still doesn't mean he's a good guy it just he was willing to do what was necessary in order to combat even worse people in such a way that's right so yeah it's it's this interest like that's part of the fun of fallout is that everything is kind of a shade of great right like if y'all claim is black [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm clearly terrible.

[SPEAKER_03]: Fair enough. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: On claim and Kaiser's Legion. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: And that's not too much of a logic yet. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Not a whole lot of great. [SPEAKER_02]: But then you get to characters like, you know, house or the institute.

[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, OK, you're starting to talk. [SPEAKER_02]: Shades are great here. [SPEAKER_03]: You're like the brotherhood of steel. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of good villains have very good motivational reasons. [SPEAKER_02]: They believe they're the good guy. [SPEAKER_02]: Even if they're doing terrible things, Hank is an example of that.

[SPEAKER_02]: He thinks he's helping the wasteland. [SPEAKER_02]: He thinks he's doing the right thing. [UNKNOWN]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: But like he's also turning everybody into zombies, you know, remote control zombies and taking away their freedom. [SPEAKER_02]: So that's not necessarily a good thing either.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's talk about Lucy and Congressman Welch's head. [SPEAKER_02]: This is so fun because you and I didn't get to really talk throughout the season. [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm getting kind of updates as we go as to your thoughts on this. [SPEAKER_02]: What do you think about her? [SPEAKER_03]: Well, okay, the Congress involves like the start.

[SPEAKER_03]: First of all, you see, you're like, why is she in this? [SPEAKER_03]: But then at the end, it all makes sense, because they have to shove someone in charge of effectively running this whole operation. [SPEAKER_03]: And what I'm trying to answer team from it is, it looks like they did someone who was kind.

[SPEAKER_03]: but all so simple. [SPEAKER_02]: Hanks idea was that he was taking her personality and using that to program the chips, which would then affect the people so that not only were they mind-controlled, but they also had pleasant personalities because that's important to Hank, which is a very Hank thing, right?

[SPEAKER_03]: Right, what I think was interesting about it, I did like, was her just like, kill me. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, this is just a little bit, that was just funny. [SPEAKER_03]: Nothing else. [SPEAKER_03]: It was just funny. [SPEAKER_03]: If like, oh, come on. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that scene was, was interesting. [SPEAKER_03]: It was more than element of like, but what's going on here? [SPEAKER_03]: What's it, my friend, more, who put her there? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so that's the question I left with on the last episode where I talked with the patrons was, is she on play?

[SPEAKER_02]: Did she know she was helping the on play? [SPEAKER_02]: Was she in on it with the president with the the diode? [SPEAKER_02]: Or was she just being taken advantage of because she's a kind and nice person? [SPEAKER_02]: I'm still swaying on the second one. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that she's malicious.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think that if she was malicious, then she wouldn't have been the right personality to use to program the chips. [SPEAKER_02]: I think she got in the vault due to her position as a congresswoman and Hank knew that and was taking advantage of her being frozen. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, so you think that Hank did that to her.

[SPEAKER_03]: See, my thinking was that she was already like that. [SPEAKER_02]: no because she wasn't in a so heads that have been preserved and used and kept alive for a long time. [SPEAKER_02]: They're kind of future rumoured in those little domes with liquid around it. [SPEAKER_02]: Her head was sitting on the table out in the open as if it had only been there for a very short period of time.

[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't decrepit. [SPEAKER_02]: It was just like slightly decaying. [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm putting those pieces together and I'm going Hank has set her up just within the previous few weeks or month or however long it had been that he'd been working on those chips and didn't preserve her head more just kind of pulled it out of cryostasis stuck it on a table.

[SPEAKER_03]: Right, but he, okay, that would make sense because the reason I was thinking that was in the scene where he blow up the blow up shady sand that person had the chip. [SPEAKER_03]: on the back. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes, but that's an interesting question. [SPEAKER_02]: But that person also didn't have a personality thing.

[SPEAKER_02]: And it was a very early version of the chip that barely worked because they were leaving out. [SPEAKER_02]: This was the addition he made. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, he probably did something where or used somebody else to put the chip on the person contacted them at a distance or something.

[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like it seems like he still is in contact potentially with the unclever is attempted to [SPEAKER_02]: The events of shady stands were also a decade previous to the events we're seeing now like his kids were still young all of that So yeah, those those details are a little foggy, but I don't think that gets in the way of understanding who welches in this situation [SPEAKER_02]: so i'm not sure exactly what's going on with her but that's that's my sense of it and i don't know forever going to get more clarity around that but that seems to make sense in my mind um but then Hank explains who welches and he he uses myers briggs which is a personality i know measurement thing which is also totally pseudo science at this point

[SPEAKER_02]: It was designed by two women in like the 1940s who had no no science degrees, nothing like this. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's useful for just kind of understanding what your natural proclivities are. [SPEAKER_02]: He defines her as ISTP, which is introverted, sensing, thinking, perceiving. [SPEAKER_02]: And that's in contrast to somebody who would be extroverted, intuitive, feeling, and judging.

[SPEAKER_02]: And his justification was that that means that she's basically this calm kind of nerdy nudge non-jungemental person, but also kind of naive. [SPEAKER_02]: And that's who she is. [SPEAKER_03]: That's what, yeah, accurate. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I did like, but it also, it's fallout. [SPEAKER_03]: Of course they'd use Myers-Briggs.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's right. [SPEAKER_02]: But that's the thing. [SPEAKER_03]: Of course that's what that's what they would be using. [SPEAKER_02]: It's also funny that that's confirmed that that exists in the follow universe. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because if what it would make sense, it's anything pseudo science would be like, yep, that's that that is science in the Fallout universe.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Totally tracks. [SPEAKER_02]: Yep. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: All right. [SPEAKER_02]: So let's talk about the Google saving Lucy. [SPEAKER_02]: And this is a wonderful moment because it, it harkens back to some things. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's go, I want to take on it before I delve into some details here.

[SPEAKER_03]: What I loved about it was obviously he wounds Hank. [SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't kill him and he's just gonna get Yeah, yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: It gets the gun delucy and what I liked about that was it's this Goes back to the line he had the episode before about if you wanted to give the you know power source of someone good You have to give it to someone bad [SPEAKER_03]: He has accepted the goal except that Lucy's a good person.

[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't think earlier on he was basically trying to tempt her. [SPEAKER_03]: He was, it was my devil in the shoulder. [SPEAKER_03]: He did do anything to tempt her to prove you're no better than me. [SPEAKER_03]: You're none of these things. [SPEAKER_03]: And it seems like over the course of this season primarily, she's swayed him.

[SPEAKER_03]: and showed him no I actually am a good person and so now he's just saying affect the I don't know what to do with this guy I would kill him but here right well you make your own call right it's a total flip of what happens in the first episode of the season [SPEAKER_02]: because when they are fighting the rares, the great cons, and she shoots a guy in the butt, and then he has to kill, put him out of his misery, he's now flip that around, shoots Hank in the butt, gives her a gun and is like, [SPEAKER_02]: Like, and there's actually what from that episode where he says, what exactly is that you plan on doing, and once we find your daddy, we're going to do it like usual.

[SPEAKER_02]: You put a bullet in his ass, leave it for me to put one in his head, and that's totally flipped. [SPEAKER_02]: There we go. [SPEAKER_02]: It connects back. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it rhymes. [SPEAKER_02]: or shlucous would say, but that was a cool scene, but then of course we're going to have more Google and more Lucy stuff, but let's jump over to Norm and the, I call them the third one.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'm so bad, this scene was so bad, I'm sorry, this scene was terrible. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so why was it terrible? [SPEAKER_03]: Because why did, okay, numerous, first off, the vaults, well, I have my own opinion on the vaults, which I'll get to probably later. [SPEAKER_03]: But the whole thing about the Radroaches attack, he hides behind a chair and all the Radroaches go, all right, not gonna bother with him and they just attack a little people.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, then he's standing in a room by himself. [SPEAKER_03]: So by Radroaches, the door opens a little bit and all the Radroaches skip him. [SPEAKER_00]: You can go into the room. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And then later, the red roaches, he opens the door. [SPEAKER_03]: It was a close door.

[SPEAKER_03]: Somehow it's the roaches are dead. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like they killed each other. [SPEAKER_02]: That's the body python. [SPEAKER_03]: Right, right, right, but both end up stabbed. [SPEAKER_02]: And that was like, this, just, no. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_02]: They probably could have said it up a little bit better.

[SPEAKER_02]: But [SPEAKER_02]: I'm interested here in not only the fact that these vaults are clearly idiots at this point, like we can tell that they are idiots. [SPEAKER_02]: First of all, there's mob mentality. [SPEAKER_02]: This is something that we see happens across the season. [SPEAKER_02]: Ronnie is playing to that mob mentality by like taking control of the rest of them, but they all just kind of follow suit.

[SPEAKER_02]: And [SPEAKER_02]: This is something that echoes in so many other groups. [SPEAKER_02]: It's showcased in the way the Legion works. [SPEAKER_02]: Same exact kind of mentality, the people of free side. [SPEAKER_02]: We see that there's mob mentality working there. [SPEAKER_02]: And the regular regular vault people involves 33 and 32.

[SPEAKER_02]: also have this momentality, which is completely contrasted by our hero characters. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what we'll call them. [SPEAKER_02]: Maximus, Fatius, even, Lucy, the Ghoul, they all push back on the status quo in their own ways, and don't just go with the group. [SPEAKER_02]: unlike what we see in so many of these other groups and i think that was kind of the point of this along with the idea that and confirmation that buds buds was not super managers who were very capable people it was almost like it was this side project just given to bud in order to fill it with just these idiots who were just going to go follow [SPEAKER_03]: They called it out.

[SPEAKER_03]: Some of them started the work that week. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: Like it with, you know, um, you know, Hank, every scene we see of Hank back in the past, he was an idiot. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: No, he, um, I'm forgetting her name. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_03]: The woman from from Canada, who's now got a lot of stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Same thing, like, she was actually clever, but she, you know, these, all of these people were new employees. [SPEAKER_03]: So, [SPEAKER_03]: you know it's weird twist we think okay these are assistants there like yeah yeah no these are these are very low-level employees who don't know anything which is to imply that maybe they were supposed to be the target of the FVV second phase plan or something like that yeah right and the second phase will be interesting I think I think I think this this whole scene is setting up was what we see is for the [SPEAKER_03]: but he's going back to save the vault, but he vaults.

[SPEAKER_02]: Laurel. [SPEAKER_02]: He comes back to the vaults. [SPEAKER_03]: No, he's going back to the vaults. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was Claudia. [SPEAKER_02]: He's a thoo-servive, and he drags her out of there. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: That was some of that thing. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think so too.

[SPEAKER_02]: I also love that the red roaches are like the base bottom level enemy that you fight in most follow games, and yet these people can protect themselves against the simplest weakest enemies in these games. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I mean, that's why those are that whole scene. [SPEAKER_03]: It's just like, ah, they can't, they can't all be winners, but we do get better ones after so.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Also, there's a little detail here. [SPEAKER_02]: Norm stops to help somebody, helps to try to save somebody, which shows that again, he is not working by this mom mentality, but he's also just genuinely a good person. [SPEAKER_02]: He knew that we're trying to kill him, and yet he goes out of his way to try to help somebody.

[SPEAKER_03]: And that's the irony of Hank. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's the whole concept. [SPEAKER_03]: Hank raised two children to be better people than he was. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: And he didn't even, I'm not sure if he realized it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Now it's probably more of a credit to his wife who he then murdered.

[SPEAKER_03]: But for his side note. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, like you see, turn to a Google. [SPEAKER_03]: He tried to murder her. [SPEAKER_03]: He tried to murder her. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: All right, so let's talk about the free side's fight, the masters and the death clause, man, I don't, I didn't get a final, I should have done a final counts of how many death clause maximists actually took down and then also had help taking down.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like, he's still toe to toe with a number of them, dude completely proved himself. [SPEAKER_02]: What, what did you think? [SPEAKER_03]: All right, so the whole fight scene is first off funny, which is important. [SPEAKER_03]: Like the way that the deathguard blows up and hits it with a rocket, exceptional, thank you, good job.

[SPEAKER_03]: Because this game was, I mean, I'm more going back to follow up one in two. [SPEAKER_03]: You could, the deathguard's would blow up the body, would slide across. [SPEAKER_03]: We would come into play. [SPEAKER_02]: There's a blade in that mess perk in your games. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it would look like, but it reminded me of some of that.

[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, okay, first off, good job cinematically, giving me a nice little homage to some of my favorite games. [SPEAKER_03]: But I did like the fight scene because it was like just this is the super power armor for lack of a bad word Great, and then of course the people in free side just betting on it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like yeah, right now like right whatever And then one guy picks up the shotgun and I was so hoping that he was gonna help out and then he just doesn't [SPEAKER_03]: But then we do get what was, I think, the best scene in the entire show. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, when I say show, I mean, both seasons have very episode.

[SPEAKER_03]: That scene of the 50 cow anti material rifle. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: That was anti our soldier taken that shot. [SPEAKER_02]: That's sniping. [SPEAKER_03]: I actually teared up because it was the memory hit so hard. [SPEAKER_03]: This is something I've devoted hundreds of hours of my life to and just in the nailed it was just the way the the cinematic shot was looking over the head and the bullet coming out and in it was it was that's obviously and you just had that moment of this is perfect [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for people who haven't played, there's a scene in the opening of Fallon New Vegas where you see an NCR Ranger shooting a gun just like, yeah, from this like crow's nest type of position.

[SPEAKER_02]: And that was imitated when Lucy was fighting the kings. [SPEAKER_02]: they did a similar shot where they zoomed in on her and then they pulled back as the bullet came out of the gun and then here they actually did it with the NCR Ranger and that's why this is something that people have played the games are responding so positively too because it just reminds them of that moment that it's in the intro of the game it's like you can't miss it if you've played the game so [SPEAKER_02]: And it is the anti-material rifle that he uses there.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I've got a few other notes here. [SPEAKER_02]: We get a reason for why the death clause are on the strip, how in firms that the on-clave planted them there, which [SPEAKER_02]: is something they've done before and fall out to, they put intelligent death clause in Vault 13. [SPEAKER_02]: So this is clearly something they're capable of, something they've done in the past and something they didn't now did again in order to indirectly get in the way of how this plans it seems.

[SPEAKER_02]: So that totally tracks. [SPEAKER_02]: Faddius, that's 500 caps, maximum surviving. [SPEAKER_02]: And this is interesting in a few different ways. [SPEAKER_02]: First of all, he has this wonderful quote [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, which is another one of the best lines in the entire episode. [SPEAKER_03]: That's great.

[SPEAKER_02]: The setting has been so good. [SPEAKER_02]: He stands up as a hero like he comes across as the cowardly lion. [SPEAKER_02]: And I saw a picture somebody posted on line of the three of them marching in the previous episode with dog meat. [SPEAKER_02]: And they were like, look, it's the cowardly lion, the tin man, and the scarecrow.

[SPEAKER_02]: With todo, going to save. [SPEAKER_02]: Dorthy and I was like, oh, that's the tracks. [SPEAKER_02]: That also kind of means that house might be the wizard. [SPEAKER_02]: And yet he's this man through this veil. [SPEAKER_02]: Like I was like, all the crap, wizard vaz, symbology there. [SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of cool.

[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, Thaddi is bets on him. [SPEAKER_02]: And then he goes up and shoots at the death claw and helps him out. [SPEAKER_02]: And then of course, the second shot comes and it's not him and he's like, no, it's not me. [SPEAKER_02]: It looks over there and it's like the NCR guy. [SPEAKER_02]: and then while Maximus is holding his own with the death clause, you can see in the scenes where it zooms in on his head that the details in his HUD are accurate to when you're in power armor in the game.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's actually showing where the power armor is taking damage as he's in the fight, which is super cool. [SPEAKER_02]: And then of course the scenes with Maximus and him remembering his dad saying that someday he'll be a good man, [SPEAKER_02]: And the theme here is Maximus has been looking for a good person to give the diode to.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's been he's he found Lucy and thinks she's a good person all of this. [SPEAKER_02]: But this is the moment where he stands up and is a good person. [SPEAKER_02]: It's yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: When he overthinks things, he messes stuff up. [SPEAKER_02]: But when he just acts on instinct, he does good things.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then the power armor breaks down and he has to he pulls himself out of it. [SPEAKER_02]: And then which is something that can happen in the games, right? [SPEAKER_02]: like your power, it gets messed up and you're like, fine, I'll just fight without the power, I'mr. [SPEAKER_02]: And then he picks up the roulette wheel and the roulette wheel goes up to 36 and the numbers on the outside.

[SPEAKER_02]: This one, if you zoom in, it goes up to 38, because it's from the Lucky 38. [SPEAKER_03]: course. [SPEAKER_02]: Interesting, right? [SPEAKER_02]: And that's something you would do in Vegas where you would have like themed games in your casino. [SPEAKER_02]: And then he picks up a poultry which is a weapon in the games that you can use.

[SPEAKER_02]: And the symbology of your standing in a fairly clean white shirt and khakis like a white knight standing against the dragon or something like that was just like, [SPEAKER_02]: So there you go. [SPEAKER_02]: Those are those are my thoughts on on Maximus also when the NCR marches up the it's the same woman that we saw earlier in the season right and she's she's leading them and clearly this is one of those things a lot of a lot of fans lamented they're like why did they reduce the NCR the NCR is gone.

[SPEAKER_02]: There's only these two people left and it's like, no, no, no, they're still working on stuff. [SPEAKER_03]: And here they are, showing up and because the other one got captured by heck. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's the whole thing. [SPEAKER_03]: It's like what's important to me about the else of they needed this.

[SPEAKER_03]: Because the whole thing is the NCR, they've been hinting at for a while. [SPEAKER_03]: And the idea, we've all been wondering this. [SPEAKER_03]: Because what are the big questions they have [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I've just got this a little bit and there's something that comes up a lot.

[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody posted on on the discord and they were like, hey, I think the cannon ending from New Vegas is this and I've mentioned on previous episodes that I don't, they responded and said, well, Tom doesn't like that question. [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, it's not that I don't like the question.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's that it is, it is the wrong question to ask. [SPEAKER_02]: And let me justify this real quick for anybody who might be still thinking that I'm just pushing, I think it's like, [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to talk about it. [SPEAKER_02]: Something I don't want to talk about it. [SPEAKER_02]: It's that the writers and Todd and the producers have very specifically said in interviews that they did the best they could in order to avoid any specific cannon ending, which means that if there are things that hint at a specific cannon ending, that's just [SPEAKER_02]: coincidence, they did not intend it.

[SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of people treat law, and I'm sure you've probably felt this way before the K-Lorecast before. [SPEAKER_02]: They treated as if they're uncovering history, but really what we're uncovering is literature and art and literature and art have intent from the authors, whereas history doesn't.

[SPEAKER_02]: So if you see circumstantial evidence that was not intended [SPEAKER_02]: So that's my chance on it is that like they didn't meet like in the 15 years that it's been There's there's not a cannon ending. [SPEAKER_02]: They they they circumvented that and you could explain Out any coincidences by well it's been 15 years and other stuff could have happened and we just didn't know what what happened An example of that would be the bombing of shady sands [SPEAKER_02]: There's nothing in the games that talk anything about the bottom of Shadeshans that was new to the lore in the last in the time period between the games and the show.

[SPEAKER_03]: I think they imply that, yeah, nothing about Shadeshans, but I know when you're playing new Vegas, there is some comments about the NCR, because Shadeshans are the origin of the NCR. [SPEAKER_03]: There's like, I think they're a comment man. [SPEAKER_02]: guys can also play that game there's could have sworn there's comments about how things had become kind of bureaucratic and bogged down in policies and bad people being in charge and being lazy and not doing the right things and that kind of stuff but there's nothing that says that shady stands was bombed.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I guess, but you also have to timeline this in line, by the way, because the shit is falling would have happened after that. [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, so we'll see, it's one of those areas where it's hard for me because on the one hand, I do like it when they give me a cannon ending. [SPEAKER_03]: I actually, but I would like to know.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's fun, because the thing is, it's weird not having it, you know, it's, this is you and I do retro recall. [SPEAKER_03]: Older games didn't give you that option. [SPEAKER_03]: So I was raised on games that had one ending. [SPEAKER_03]: And now, it's like, oh, actually, like seven different endings, right?

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, right. [SPEAKER_02]: So that was the goal. [SPEAKER_02]: They didn't want to alienate any of the players and any of the players decisions. [SPEAKER_02]: And so they've created a world that just kind of moved on without the events of the player. [SPEAKER_02]: And that was the idea.

[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what they stated. [SPEAKER_02]: So to say that like, [SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, but they still hid details that show which ending they chose as can when they're very specifically said they didn't choose anything to be a cannon ending is just it's weird to me, right? [SPEAKER_03]: It's yeah, I guess, yeah, I mean, but either way, I'm happy to see the end start and see our back.

[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, obviously it's setting up the irony is they're setting up an NCR seasers Legion and probably house the findings that. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, in some ways, I'm we're jumping ahead a little bit here, but in some ways are setting up if they wanted to. [SPEAKER_03]: season three could actually become a repeat of new Vegas.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, in fact, it's got three factions. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: And that was something I realized too. [SPEAKER_02]: It also could be a way to set up a sequel game if they happen to be working on like a new Vegas two type of game. [SPEAKER_02]: Because now you're you're set up in a way where the things are kind of similar.

[SPEAKER_02]: The landscape is similar to the way new Vegas played out at the beginning of that game. [SPEAKER_02]: But now you have you could use the show as a can in ending in order to move forward on which 100% makes it easier for the developers. [SPEAKER_02]: So so there you go. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk Hank and Lucy.

[SPEAKER_02]: They come out on the surface Hank says I was worried the wasteland changed you which is interesting because she's proving that like It did some but not but she's still fundamentally the same person exactly [SPEAKER_03]: and then what did you think about the scene with him and the the ministerized mind control device and all of that first it's hard to tell what's going on because it's a art is he undermind control is he not undermind control like was he baking it [SPEAKER_03]: Well, and since it was Lucy has it in her hands, so she's put it on him, but has she turned it on?

[SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: She has it turned it on. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: She's weighed. [SPEAKER_02]: She's like, I think that's that's very, if you look back at the states, uh, she's she's debating to turn it on or not. [SPEAKER_02]: She hasn't turned it on yet. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's heavily implied. [SPEAKER_02]: And then he takes it. [SPEAKER_02]: he pulls his out of his pocket and it's if you look at the dial it's turned all the way up to complete it for get things so he's not faking when he hits the button unless it just didn't work but all signs point to his mind is wiped he does not remind and which in order to protect the secrets of the on-clay [SPEAKER_03]: Right, and that's what this is.

[SPEAKER_03]: And so that's where that because at that point, I figured I, but I couldn't, but I couldn't judge was, you know, because it was kind of a weird thing like what is Lucy up to here? [SPEAKER_03]: Why is she put this on him for lack of a better place? [SPEAKER_02]: Because she doesn't want to have to kill him.

[SPEAKER_02]: And she's, it also plays to this idea of like he's getting a taste of his own medicine, which is of course thematically fun. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, but [SPEAKER_02]: Also, if she's going to bring him to justice, she has no way to do so. [SPEAKER_02]: She can't force him to leave. [SPEAKER_02]: She doesn't want to have to kill him.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so now this becomes the other option is like, well, do I? [SPEAKER_02]: Like, and you can see that his words are, this is an example of his words taking root in her mind and tempting her to be as bad as he is by then using the device on him. [SPEAKER_02]: So she's debating all of these things and then she takes that, he takes that option away from her and just does it to himself.

[SPEAKER_02]: Which doesn't confirm that she wouldn't have followed through with it. [SPEAKER_02]: She was tempted to. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but he wipes his own mind. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it is, it's a, it's a, it's a cool scene. [SPEAKER_03]: It is, it was a little bit tragic to me because I figured the idea of the actor, I like him a lot as an actor.

[SPEAKER_03]: So I was like, oh, yeah, I don't want him gone. [SPEAKER_02]: My guess is that he's not going to be gone. [SPEAKER_02]: He's going to stay there and house is going to, like how said, everyone eventually works for him. [SPEAKER_02]: It'd be great how's this going to use him in this in this scenario now that his mind is wiped because he's a capable individual who has ties to these interesting characters who are important If he can, I mean it'd be great because again just good actor.

[SPEAKER_03]: That's one piece. [SPEAKER_03]: That's not really good actors, but yeah, I would I would put money on that one. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure he's not going to be gone gone [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's too good of an actor. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and on top of it, we don't know how thoroughly well these devices work, or if the mind wipe is permanent, it may be a temporary thing, maybe it's reversible, maybe if you remove the device over time, your memories come back, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: These are all potentials because it's fiction and you're right. [SPEAKER_03]: You're right. [SPEAKER_03]: You're right. [SPEAKER_03]: You're right. [SPEAKER_03]: You're right. [SPEAKER_03]: You're right. [SPEAKER_03]: You're right. [SPEAKER_03]: You're right. [SPEAKER_03]: Now we get to kind of the end of the season, which is the most important piece, which is real quick.

[SPEAKER_02]: One of the quote Hank says is, good is new, implying not only is his mind wiped, but he's he was not good and now he is because he doesn't remember any of the bad things he did. [SPEAKER_03]: The only thing on the mind wipe that's a little bit interesting is how does the mind wipe work when you're sitting in the middle of the wasteland?

[SPEAKER_03]: yeah yeah like what do you even do like yeah what that's what's only that's the only piece of it where it's like how does this kind of function because like Hank's memories would have been of pre you know wasteland [SPEAKER_03]: The other people, whatever, but even when they're, sorry, just that's coming to me right now, but even when they're in the room and Lucy first meets all the people and they're doing all the musical building the things, it talks about, oh yeah, she used to murder people and she smiles back at him.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's almost like it doesn't wipe all your memories because she's willing to understand some of those things. [SPEAKER_02]: So I, I, I would read that as her mind is wiped. [SPEAKER_02]: She didn't remember it, but she was also hit with the pleasant thing from Welch. [SPEAKER_02]: So her now response was just like, oh, hey, whatever that means okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like, okay, maybe. [SPEAKER_02]: Because that was an honorance. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's one of the things I'm like, we just, we just know how does he know. [SPEAKER_02]: And then we go. [SPEAKER_03]: They've gone. [SPEAKER_02]: Right, those was the NCR guy who was serving them dinner and Lucy asks him, like, do you remember me?

[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, well, we just met like yesterday, he mentioned like the more recent time that they met, but can't remember anything beyond that. [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm pretty sure that that's how that works. [SPEAKER_03]: That's my guess, but it was just a thing, but anyway. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk Steph. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So we get some interesting reveals here. [SPEAKER_02]: One of the things that I posed as I was talking with the patrons last week. [SPEAKER_02]: And somebody pulled up the idea of like, well, it isn't Steph's timeline really quick.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like, if if the events of her leaving Canada were recent and then she makes her way to [SPEAKER_02]: Vegas gets employed by house and then somehow gets to become part of Valtek super quickly in order to then be put in Buds Buds like how does that happen in such a short period of time because their estimation was that a lot of these events were earlier on than I think they were.

[SPEAKER_02]: My argument against that I also realized later on is oftentimes we see Janey at different points of time that coincide with some of these other pre-war events and she is physically the same age [SPEAKER_02]: Um, if they were years ahead, she would have been a little her and these all right feel like anybody who's a parent knows that like there's a big difference between the way your kids look from one year to the next like that is a big.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, this happened fast and right, but that was okay, because she's fleeing Canada. [SPEAKER_03]: which is, you know, for, you know, the, those of people who don't know, it's a war zone. [SPEAKER_02]: It's been in our trade. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: Next by the US, and we are, I think, genocide in the Canadian. [SPEAKER_02]: They're some of that. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, they're coming. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, they're coming. [SPEAKER_03]: But, yes, so she has, and to how she work around the vault, simple, she marries Hank.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right and so that was the thing is that it like last week they were like well, but how did she get to become part of Valtek if she was working for house so quickly and I was like well, we see her cart away Hank and I and I just it was just like an off comment I was like what if she seduced him and I'm like, I know that's kind of a A terrible thing to you know assume but like maybe that's what happened turns out that's what happened like yeah, so so that's how she gets involved with not only Valtek, but probably the on-clave was through Hank [SPEAKER_03]: Well, and this becomes kind of the one question where the where the on-clave comes in because, for example, Hank in the one of the early scenes is, you know, it says, oh, sir, if you're listening, I'm continuing your work.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, which I think a lot of us, like me, I, I say, I assume was doc was house me too. [SPEAKER_02]: And I talked about that on that episode. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then later on as evidence started to mount and I was like, I think he wasn't actually talking to house here. [SPEAKER_02]: I think he was right into the on-clave.

[SPEAKER_03]: and then at the end we discover he wasn't and we keep seeing this thing right he wasn't at this right we had the scene and I believe it was the first season maybe it was the second season where they're you know big mountain the house they're all in the room and uh [SPEAKER_03]: The goal's wife looks up and there's someone watching above.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, the on-click. [SPEAKER_03]: It's the other. [SPEAKER_03]: And then house admits that, oh, there's an investor or an owner with involved in a investor, a hidden party and a player like yes, and that's the on-click. [SPEAKER_03]: So the question then becomes these people all seem to know about the on-click.

[SPEAKER_03]: So when and how do they know about the on-click. [SPEAKER_03]: So for example, it's pretty obvious, Steph, [SPEAKER_03]: doesn't know about the on-clave. [SPEAKER_03]: She doesn't have told her something. [SPEAKER_02]: She knows only as much in that I had, I had the same conclusion. [SPEAKER_02]: She's not part of the on-clave, but she knows enough about it through probably manipulating Hank to know that he had a pit boy that would be a way to contact them.

[SPEAKER_02]: And that's why she's unsure when she turns it on. [SPEAKER_02]: She's like, I've heard you guys are always listening, uh, but here, hey, you know, here's what's up. [SPEAKER_02]: um so she's reaching out to them but she isn't already included as part of them um now there's some symbolism that happens here we see her in her wedding dress she's wearing all white contacting on cliff we see her in a white outfit in the airport with younger hank and hank is traditionally wearing a black tie on a white shirt every time and and i bet if you even look at [SPEAKER_02]: The majority of the time that we see anything representing on-clave in the series, it's black and white.

[SPEAKER_02]: Because they think, well, not only is that, traditionally, their colors are very black and white, but also they think in very black or white ways. [SPEAKER_02]: You're one of us, or you are the enemy. [SPEAKER_02]: You are a human, or you are lesser than human. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So okay, it's got to be intentional and it totally matches up with the wedding dress and all of that and shows that she is of the mindset of the on-clave More so than she is a vaultek or anybody else.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, very much so I mean she's she wants she's a survivalist. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean that's the whole thing about Steph is that she's a survivalist right that is what the on-clave [SPEAKER_03]: Ironically are and are not because they've kind of forced it for themselves. [SPEAKER_02]: They are.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: They also like they caused all this. [SPEAKER_02]: So well, that's the assumption. [SPEAKER_02]: And I saw in a recent interview right after the episode came out with some of the cast and then Todd Howard as well. [SPEAKER_02]: And one of the questions that was posed to him and Jonathan Nolan was, do we, do we know now that the unclear dropped the [SPEAKER_02]: tossed it back to Todd and Todd was like, well, that's something we still like to play with.

[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to continue to leave breadcrumbs, but I really enjoy the idea of it never fully being confirmed. [SPEAKER_02]: So we can assume that was them, but we still, we still don't have hard evidence that it what? [SPEAKER_03]: Well, [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it could even be like, I'm going to do a fun movie reference here, spies like us moment where maybe, you know, they didn't drop them, but an agent over in China caused the kind of to launch the bombs.

[SPEAKER_03]: That's that we, that's the, you can go however you want with this. [SPEAKER_03]: It gets [SPEAKER_03]: Fun, you know for lack of a better phrase, right? [SPEAKER_03]: Let's see what this is. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so back to back to Steph. [SPEAKER_02]: I really enjoyed that like So when Hank brings up Steph after their outside of the vault he and Lucie outside of the mountain goes well That's complicated or something like that and it looks so weird But you start to realize that Steph was woken back up after he tried to kill his wife [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: And was now part of the vault and he's older and she's younger. [SPEAKER_02]: Did they have an affair? [SPEAKER_02]: It also raises questions. [SPEAKER_02]: Stephanie lost her husband, but is the baby hanks? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Who knows? [SPEAKER_02]: Who knows? [SPEAKER_02]: That's a good point.

[SPEAKER_02]: This is some interesting questions there. [SPEAKER_02]: Also, she co-taught the school with Lucy in the vault. [SPEAKER_02]: And she's almost like a stepmom sort of. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Lucy and Lucy considered her her friend like her best friend. [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, also weird. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like the crazy best friends your secret step mom.

[SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: That's weird. [SPEAKER_02]: That's weird. [SPEAKER_02]: It's weird. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, yeah, so [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so let's see, what else do I have here? [SPEAKER_03]: We have talked about the goal getting to the empty holding of his wife and yeah, yeah, yeah, we're getting there.

[SPEAKER_02]: Let's, I just want to make sure I'm looking at my notes, make sure I don't have anything else left to do with Stephanie here. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, oh, this was interesting. [SPEAKER_02]: So in Vault 33, they all pile up on her door and they're banging down, they're basically yelling to kill her.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: And then that makes Chet. [SPEAKER_02]: uncomfortable because he's like, I didn't want it to escalate like this, which again coincides with the mob mentality that we see other vault people, other, the Legionnaires, all of them doing. [SPEAKER_02]: But also, when Chet and Norm discover what happened to Vault 32, what was sprayed on the wall behind Norm when he was looking at the computer, it specifically said death to management.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yep. [SPEAKER_02]: And so did this same exact thing already happened in Vault 32 previously? [SPEAKER_02]: Buds Buds right now great managers and I think in that scene where we see chat being like oh Deft to death. [SPEAKER_02]: I think that's what he's doing is we're seeing him remember that that was That was what happened to Vol 32 previously.

[SPEAKER_03]: So and this is all that [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I kind of wonder if it's now you say that I wonder if Steph just killed herself. [SPEAKER_03]: If what happens is this is the, like she ends her stomach. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because what I'm wondering is what if that's the experiment. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: If it is, if the idea is to make a good manager, you have to head your vault not going to revolt. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe because that is the theme in most of the fallout games. [SPEAKER_03]: You go to the vaults. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: It's the experiment.

[SPEAKER_03]: There's so extreme that there's some sort of a revolt in the overseer and sub-dead over and over. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that's like every vault. [SPEAKER_02]: But it's enough. [SPEAKER_02]: Enough. [SPEAKER_02]: It's enough for it to create a pattern. [SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't exactly happen one time.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: There's a theme. [SPEAKER_03]: And so that becomes a question. [SPEAKER_03]: Phase two. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, what is phase two? [SPEAKER_03]: No one knows what phase two is. [SPEAKER_03]: We saw something about FV, but we've already seen a super mutant and we're way too late.

[SPEAKER_03]: So FV is long been into the game at this point. [SPEAKER_03]: So I don't think it's going to be the launch of the FV, but it could just be something that it would almost be funny where it was like, oh, okay. [SPEAKER_03]: I will just reset the vault now. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, they just let them kill each other and then they reset the vault.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Because the Enclave is still listening and they probably still have control. [SPEAKER_02]: And if they're going to Colorado and there's like a vault zero which is this hub center for the vaults and they somehow take control of that and can use it, then they could probably continue using the vaults.

[SPEAKER_02]: And there was the big reveal that like the wasteland is the experiment. [SPEAKER_02]: That's brought up in this episode as well, which kind of implies that anything else that on Clevver is going to do will be to continue the experiment of the wasteland as a whole. [SPEAKER_02]: So that's a whole other level to consider here.

[SPEAKER_02]: But here, let's talk about the Google and the Cryo Chamber reveals. [SPEAKER_02]: Would you think about that? [SPEAKER_03]: Not surprised by being honest because it was like how it would be really weird So then what the rest of this of the series is him protecting his wife and daughter from the wasteland Right, it was basically one of two things we have an either he wasn't gonna open it and he's gonna leave them there safe or he was gonna open it and they weren't gonna be there That was a good point there [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I called it out on a previous episode.

[SPEAKER_02]: I was, it's kind of like when you see a character die off camera. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, they're not dead because we didn't see their body. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, they showed the containers, but they didn't show their faces or bodies inside them. [SPEAKER_02]: So that was my assumption early on was like, they're not really in there.

[SPEAKER_03]: What is interesting, though, is the fact that she left the postcard in there. [SPEAKER_03]: His wife obviously wasn't killed. [SPEAKER_03]: So we know she wasn't killed. [SPEAKER_03]: His point being that she's alive. [SPEAKER_03]: what this implies because by before we started you and how we're talking about Fallout Tactics.

[SPEAKER_03]: Right and so Fallout Tactics becomes so Vault Zero is in Fallout Tactics and the problem with if you haven't played Fallout Tactics, I understand why, but I like the game so whatever. [SPEAKER_02]: I want to put a picture. [SPEAKER_03]: I realized I stand alone on this hill of like no, it's a good game.

[SPEAKER_03]: I've accepted that But I really do enjoy the game and then in the reveal in Fallout Tactics is that the Vault Zero was meant to be the super vault for all the best and they just weren't left But they were lazy so they push put a computer in charge and then I keep your turn to describe it [SPEAKER_03]: That's correct.

[SPEAKER_03]: What is happening? [SPEAKER_03]: But then the brotherhood of steel, EMP it, and problems are solved, effectively. [SPEAKER_03]: So what it appears to show here is that she did go into cryo at some point, and then came out of cryo at some point, and knew that her husband would be looking for her and left the breadcrumb within there, right?

[SPEAKER_03]: Kind of is a lot of these pieces, but then then saying Colorado again, yeah, which ball zero. [SPEAKER_02]: But it connects to the airport conversation where he basically, they have a conversation about Well, we need to go somewhere safe, maybe we need to give him further away like Colorado.

[SPEAKER_02]: He brings up. [SPEAKER_02]: And then he when he knows he's in trouble and they're going to take him away. [SPEAKER_02]: He leans in and is like, listen, basically says, like, let me take the fall for this. [SPEAKER_02]: You didn't know anything you didn't do anything. [SPEAKER_02]: and that is super important.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like you have to understand here. [SPEAKER_02]: If she were to be have been part of what happened, they stole very valuable property from the company and gave it away. [SPEAKER_02]: Like she stole millions of dollars, probably billions of dollars worth of, like that would have been terrible, which is why he was then [SPEAKER_03]: You know, treated this way, but somehow escapes.

[SPEAKER_03]: That's the part that'll be explaining that and season these are be interesting to me. [SPEAKER_02]: My guess is my guess. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so here's my guess is that the on-clave the president the on-clave now has the diode They can't admit that they have a like this very hidden special technology So they can't actually put him on trial, but what they can do is call him a communist ruin his name get him [SPEAKER_02]: kicked off of any movie projects he's going to be on which is what we see is why he's doing earth eight parties and so the then she has to distance his himself from him by saying okay we're getting a divorce I didn't realize he was doing these terrible things he's not a part of my life anymore I didn't have anything to do with it right

[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm pretty sure that's how it plays out. [SPEAKER_02]: And it makes sense. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, how do you try somebody for something that's secret technology without revealing the technology in discovery during the judicial process? [SPEAKER_02]: Like, that doesn't work, right? [SPEAKER_03]: But I mean, it's more the reason I'm had laughing about it, it's more like, okay, so the on-clave just doesn't kill him.

[SPEAKER_02]: But they're not out in the open yet. [SPEAKER_02]: That's the other thing. [SPEAKER_03]: It's the on-clave, it's the on-clave, it's the on-clave. [SPEAKER_03]: It's, that's obviously like, oh, well, look, guys, [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we're about to send the world into a nuclear winter, but you know, we don't want to, you know, mess with the previous course.

[SPEAKER_02]: I get it. [SPEAKER_02]: I get it. [SPEAKER_03]: I get it. [SPEAKER_02]: It seems like the counter arguments that is oftentimes in their pre-war events, they've been less hands on with things. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's like you see, we just link it up in the elevator and he makes threats.

[SPEAKER_03]: You know, but yeah, I get I totally but I also get what it's a movie troupe I just have always I have always be reminded of Dr. [SPEAKER_03]: Evil where it's like well, you know, it's like those sharks will get him I have a pistol right here. [SPEAKER_02]: I just like just shoot him. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's just shoot him in the head right away He was together.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the sharks look at him. [SPEAKER_03]: I trust it. [SPEAKER_03]: It's whatever it has it's a trip TV. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're the troupe that you know, I'm really in a character. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah [SPEAKER_03]: Well, because the truth if you don't do it, the show's over in two seconds.

[SPEAKER_03]: We're like, oh, well, well, the end. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, fair enough, you know, great. [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, absolutely. [SPEAKER_02]: I totally get it, yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: But it's, it's also fun for me to be like, okay, but is there a justifiable reason for why that is the case?

[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and try to give the writers the benefit of the doubt, but yeah, absolutely, it's, it's totally fine to call it out as just like this is a trope, you know, like I called out the, you know, they're not dead trope, because they didn't see their bodies, you know, like, [SPEAKER_02]: shows work.

[SPEAKER_02]: So they're at the airport. [SPEAKER_02]: The song that plays at the airport is, I've got you under my skin, which is interesting because it's a love song. [SPEAKER_02]: We can see that they've now reconciled, they're under each other's skin, they're, you know, like, oh, they're planning for their future, all of that, but also the device is under Hank's skin.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yep. [SPEAKER_02]: So, and an airplane just flew over, so maybe you're getting some fully work there. [SPEAKER_02]: So that's a reference to the micro device, which we now know is in who knows how many people out in the wasteland because Hank let them out into the world. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I've seen some speculation online where people were like, well, for sure we're going to get like somebody in the show that we've already seen, maybe one of the heroes is going to be revealed that they have this implanted.

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know that that's the case. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that any of the especially the characters that we've met so far, especially the hero characters are going to have been appointed because there's no connection to them. [SPEAKER_02]: Other times you're having war in with him.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it doesn't really work. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, time I work. [SPEAKER_02]: I think we're going to get probably an important character or two in season three that we come to find out later. [SPEAKER_02]: I'll have been mine controlled and we didn't know it. [SPEAKER_02]: Hmm, something like that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I guess I think probably something there, um, let's, let's see what also have here. [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, we went through the, that stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about the end of the episode because I feel like we've hit most of this other stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, when the barbed thing in the airport, she says, does it feel like we left Vegas winners?

[SPEAKER_02]: Like nobody leaves Vegas as a winner, you know, like that, and then it all blows up. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: And on top of it, as they're walking out, Cooper notices the posters behind them the ads behind them, and there's him advertising vault tech, and so that feels uncomfortable.

[SPEAKER_02]: But then there's one of house that says, you never know, [SPEAKER_02]: Like, you never know if you might win a million dollars. [SPEAKER_03]: And also, within that, the house says when they're walking through the tunnels, he says, I rigged every single thing in Vegas, every single slot, every game I controlled.

[SPEAKER_03]: And it's all things, no one won anything in Las Vegas without me effectively approving it. [SPEAKER_03]: Right? [SPEAKER_03]: That is the idea. [SPEAKER_03]: all of these things I have control over. [SPEAKER_02]: Right, so. [SPEAKER_02]: But also that question of like, it starts to build this tension in Cooper's mind of like, you never know.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you seem like you're walking out having done the right thing. [SPEAKER_02]: But you never know. [SPEAKER_02]: And then they find out like, no, they're not winners. [SPEAKER_03]: No, you're not winners, no, no, no, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_02]: All right, so let's talk about the end. [SPEAKER_02]: We have this reveal of this on-clave base in the mountains of Colorado.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably Colorado that seems to be implied here. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it you're ready. [SPEAKER_03]: It's implies Colorado. [SPEAKER_03]: It's it's definitely the searers. [SPEAKER_03]: We'll put it that way. [SPEAKER_03]: It's the seems like it's right. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, definitely the sear amounts.

[SPEAKER_03]: So it's Colorado Utah. [SPEAKER_03]: I guess it could be Oregon or Washington, but most likely called most likely Colorado. [SPEAKER_02]: It's probably going to coincide with where the Google ends up trying to go in the next season or something like that, right? [SPEAKER_02]: And you talked about Vault Zero, maybe this is coordinated somehow with Vault Zero.

[SPEAKER_02]: Don't know about that. [SPEAKER_02]: I do know. [SPEAKER_02]: And I found this on somebody figured this out online because they recognized the building. [SPEAKER_02]: The building is the Brooklyn Army terminal, and it's in a regular like urban location. [SPEAKER_02]: And I've mixed up Brooklyn, New York, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: and they took it as like digital like VFX and then it planted it in the mountains and it's a really good job because it looks amazing. [SPEAKER_02]: So that's really cool. [SPEAKER_02]: So that is a real extremely large building super cool. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, so I thought that was really cool.

[SPEAKER_02]: Also when we get the little zoom and we see an i-bot floating by. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Which makes me wonder, are we going to see iPods floating around in the wasteland again, spouting their propaganda? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, playing music. [SPEAKER_02]: Season 3? [SPEAKER_02]: Play music?

[SPEAKER_02]: Having, you know, like, you know, like, I don't know, notes from the president about the future of the wasteland. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know that kind of stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: But then again, confirmation about phase two was initiated. [SPEAKER_02]: What does that mean? [SPEAKER_02]: We don't really know.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then we have the extra end scene after the credits. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, what do you think is I mean, awesome is the best thing to put it. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean Liberty Prime was both the dumbest and coolest thing I've ever seen like I think we all have three And four yeah, I think all of us it would Liberty Prime and fall out three happened We're like this is lame, but I want more of it.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, but it's actually pretty cool. [SPEAKER_02]: He's finally new. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, it was so funny [SPEAKER_03]: And so yeah, Quintus getting access to it is interested. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so, okay, so Quintus gets access. [SPEAKER_02]: He's basically like, I'm no longer trying to unify the brotherhood.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm taking things into my hands. [SPEAKER_02]: And he has a blueprint. [SPEAKER_02]: Now my assumptions here are he gets the blueprint from Area 51 or something like that because that was part of the season. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's Liberty Prime Alpha. [SPEAKER_02]: It's not just Liberty Prime.

[SPEAKER_02]: So is this an earlier prototype version of Liberty Prime? [SPEAKER_02]: maybe, or maybe it was a more finished version, or maybe a refinement to originally have to be. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm trying to, well, that was, so the lawyers did that, that they were working on it. [SPEAKER_02]: This was a joint project by multiple groups, and they were working on it for the U.S. government, and they were never able to fully power it in a way that it would actually work.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: But with something like the diode, they would be able to power it or the technology that like replicated from the diode, maybe they can power it. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: On top of that, we have pictures of house standing in front of robot legs and it's the picture that we see in the season is a playoff of the picture that we see in Fallout New Vegas because he owned Robco and they worked on robots.

[SPEAKER_02]: Robco also worked on Liberty Prime. [SPEAKER_02]: It seems to be implying that Quintus is going to try to build a new Liberty Prime using parts and things that they've tacked that they found from Area 51. [SPEAKER_02]: And maybe they're going to need a power source to do it, which means they're going to get tied up with the conflict over Vegas with the Legion and the NCR, which again plays into brings a similar thing.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and that becomes it because it is, I mean, unless I'm mistaken, the power supply is [SPEAKER_03]: there. [SPEAKER_03]: It's still in Vegas. [SPEAKER_03]: And now we have a house still has it. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: And that was the thing that Martin leaves. [SPEAKER_02]: The ghouls is like he gives in the power that the diode and stays true to his word.

[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't take it back. [SPEAKER_02]: He leaves it with house. [SPEAKER_02]: And the end scene is house's computer, which is now house, because he confirms that people try to stab and beat his body and all of that, which is a wonderful reference to all the different ways players probably tried to kill him in the game, once they came across his body.

[SPEAKER_02]: But he basically is saying, my body's no longer around, I'm in this machine and probably replicated over multiple servers over multiple locations at this point. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: But he's got a big problem because he's got Caesar's legion, bearing down on him. [SPEAKER_03]: He's about to have the brotherhood bearing down on him.

[SPEAKER_02]: Potentially, if that's what this means, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And the NCR. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, Aaron Lucy and Maximus are going to be stuck in the middle of it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so that this becomes way, because then the NCR, it becomes a really interesting play on new Vegas, if they've I'm being honest, I've like, okay, yeah, we're kind of redoing this because all right now how else used to have his, you know, Roba Trons from Roba, Roba, what was it, Roba secure Trons?

[SPEAKER_03]: Sir, secure a chance. [SPEAKER_03]: I knew it's close. [SPEAKER_02]: I always get secure a chance and protect runs confused because they're kind of sending them to each other. [SPEAKER_03]: Close-ish, but far, right. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: But he had those.

[SPEAKER_03]: So he's now there, you can see them. [SPEAKER_03]: They're broken and lying all over the place. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: So how does this work? [SPEAKER_03]: Also by the way, the on-clave knows where he is. [SPEAKER_03]: So you guys will have that piece too. [SPEAKER_03]: So what I'm hoping for in a season three is we get almost kind of a giant conflict in it around Vegas.

[SPEAKER_03]: Meanwhile, the goal is bearing down unknowingly on the on-clave. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, and becoming a, is this become these multiple elements of, this is how fallout kind of is. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm on board with that as well. [SPEAKER_02]: I think that we'll probably get something along those lines.

[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I would imagine that we're going to have something that continues to tie Lucy and Maximus to the school. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So what is that maybe that is Hank maybe that is something they find out about the people behind the scenes and they don't want the wasteland to go to war and everybody to kill each other.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so they try to find a solution to that. [SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, I don't know why. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not sure if I could go and come back. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's, I mean, the thing is he can't get it. [SPEAKER_03]: There's no way he could solo his way into the on-clove because we was we still haven't seen.

[SPEAKER_03]: in order to manipulate his way back in that could be a thing or we didn't see what sorry to say that you can see on play power armor yet I mean there's a truth there's a lot of on-clay of stuff because we haven't seen full on-clay yet that's kind of the thing we we've seen the on-clay scientists we've seen an i-bought and a couple people in like lab coats [SPEAKER_03]: We haven't seen full blown on clay, if yet.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's true. [SPEAKER_02]: War super mutants. [SPEAKER_02]: We've seen the one super mutant, but there's got to be more super mutants out there. [SPEAKER_02]: The other thing is that the goal is probably going to turn into a glowing one, right? [SPEAKER_02]: Like he's got that thing in his body.

[SPEAKER_02]: Now, the uranium core in his chest from when the super mutants. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Fixed him up. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, forgot about that. [SPEAKER_02]: So if he turns into a glowing one, [SPEAKER_02]: Right? [SPEAKER_02]: The other, the other, I have some other questions about what's going to happen next season.

[SPEAKER_02]: What about Thaddeus? [SPEAKER_02]: Is he turning into a centaur? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that is, we had that scene where he shows the goal that the mouth is now in his arm falls off. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and obviously the goal looks something goes, ah, like, that's not, that's not cool. [SPEAKER_03]: Because again, he's not a goal.

[SPEAKER_03]: He's just, yeah, he's unten mutant of some sort. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's the, that's about it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, is it a centaur? [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the truth is, they could also make him something else. [SPEAKER_02]: That's could be something else. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: So because he's not radiation based, he's whatever that, you know, weird concoction was based.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: And we assume it's FVV, but we don't really know. [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, maybe FVV plus other stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, or one of the things I speculated about was remember when his foot was messed up before he drank the thing and it fixed and dog meat licks his foot.

[SPEAKER_02]: So does he get dog DNA in his body? [SPEAKER_02]: And then that causes weird mutations as well, which would coincide with Centaur's potentially? [SPEAKER_02]: No, no, because there I'm mixed with DNA. [SPEAKER_03]: I've seen people online saying, oh, he's talking to a Centaur. [SPEAKER_03]: My thing is why?

[SPEAKER_03]: Like the scent because it's just the scent heart is just such it's not your mindless monsters That's like what's the point of that right it's that's why I like where does this go like where does this end But it's one of those okay I people try to solve it But like I just why as a writer why would you turn right to a centaur it's the keys he's got he's comedic relief You know, so you basically go take comedic relief and then just Kill him right or make him useless and and that's horrible art right.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it is kind of dark [SPEAKER_02]: might, so I had the same speculation. [SPEAKER_02]: I had the same question. [SPEAKER_02]: I've like, why would the writers want to go in that direction? [SPEAKER_02]: Unless they head in that direction and co-opt it and head in a different direction, like he then searches for a solution or a cure, and then that becomes something that doesn't fully fix him, but keeps him not from becoming just a might monster.

[SPEAKER_03]: because I don't think it's FV because the mouth and is neck, like that one's kind of off. [SPEAKER_02]: There's something else going on here, but... Well, sometimes in snowy gasters and things like that, we're FV caused, and they have multiple body parts. [SPEAKER_02]: So maybe... [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you should go have to see it. [SPEAKER_03]: Right now, you want to just guess in, right? [SPEAKER_03]: That's half the fun. [SPEAKER_02]: Yep, and then I guess the final thing I want to bring, well, two final things. [SPEAKER_02]: One, Norm and Claudia survive. [SPEAKER_02]: Your assumption is that he's headed back to the vaults.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I guess we'll see where that goes. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I think he's going back to the vault to save it. [SPEAKER_03]: He's going to go back to the vault, and that will be, because we still don't know if a staff ever diverted the water over, we never had clarity on that.

[SPEAKER_03]: So, I wouldn't be surprised that he's going to get that to vaults basically in rebellion. [SPEAKER_03]: It wouldn't surprise me. [SPEAKER_03]: And then he'll be, and so he's going to have to get back there and kind of save it. [SPEAKER_02]: He'll be the new leader. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they tell that thing about them out because you know, and then whatever phase two is he's going to have to deal with it.

[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I tease that phase two was just a revolt inside the vault, but whatever phase two is he's going to have to deal with. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I guess is that phase two is a wasteland large thing. [SPEAKER_02]: It is a major. [SPEAKER_02]: It's as big as something like a reclamation day.

[SPEAKER_02]: It is a, it's not just these vaults. [SPEAKER_02]: It's bigger than that would be my assumption. [SPEAKER_02]: And that where, and any mood makes sense for the, the story arc to continue to get bigger, like expanding it bigger and bigger and bigger. [SPEAKER_02]: This is something that will affect all of the United States or all of the entire world or something like that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Another thing I wanted to point out that it didn't bring up earlier is in questions about what happens next. [SPEAKER_02]: Hank is mind-wipeed. [SPEAKER_02]: The pit boy. [SPEAKER_02]: House's pit boy is left on the ground. [SPEAKER_02]: By the Google. [SPEAKER_02]: Does Hank find the pit boy and start working for house?

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, that pit boy, so, well, yes, no, because the, how many pit boys is the house have? [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, how if they, they don't share. [SPEAKER_03]: That's the weird house. [SPEAKER_03]: It's, it's a work. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: But you could have a bunch. [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[SPEAKER_02]: But this one's just left on the floor, and if Hank is carrying it goes back in, or anyone, right? [SPEAKER_02]: Lucy, or Maximus. [SPEAKER_02]: If they go back in, and they're like, oh, a pit boy, and they pick it up, and how starts talking to them. [SPEAKER_02]: all of a sudden now we have house continuing on into the story without us having to be in this location.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I think somebody's going to pick up that pit boy. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, very much so. [SPEAKER_02]: And then final thing, if this brotherhood builds Liberty Prime Alpha and that we've already had hints that the Commonwealth is aware of what they're going on with the Paladin coming to visit and all of that, do we at some point end up with a Liberty Prime versus Liberty Prime Alpha [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, what do you think I made that face only because I just still can't get over how bad the power I'm just looking this actually I was at the NCR power of the death glass What did you think about the death?

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, NCR power in the right so if they can make the liberty crimes look great I am all in but they got us in successful so their budget would probably keep increasing that that is I mean It's also Amazon you can afford it, but anyway, yeah, right listen. [SPEAKER_03]: Listen Jeff [SPEAKER_03]: Jeff, give us more fallout.

[SPEAKER_02]: You don't need another yacht. [SPEAKER_03]: If you don't have to buy Venice for a weekend, you can just give us some more fallout. [SPEAKER_03]: More people will actually enjoy it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but anyway, right. [SPEAKER_03]: But I digress and I don't want him taking away my prime membership.

[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't want to be mean to him. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm canceling my prime membership, I need today because I need more for the show, I need my two day deliveries. [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, no, but I'm not giving, I'm not giving Jeff any more money than I would say. [SPEAKER_02]: This is not my list of things I don't, I don't spend money, please I don't spend money at any more.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like fine. [SPEAKER_02]: Listen, if you are part of the the actual thing that follows about where wealthy oligarchs are causing the end of the world, I'm not contributing to that anymore. [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry. [SPEAKER_02]: And let's have to do my job, which is create podcasts.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I had Warhammer supplies delivered by Amazon today. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I've turned on a plan in two days. [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I get it. [SPEAKER_03]: But I get it. [SPEAKER_03]: I think it'd be the Liberty Prime there would be funny. [SPEAKER_03]: My hope for season three really is just a more of a I actually want them to wrap them a cannon up.

[SPEAKER_03]: If I'm being honest, I would like them just to leave have so many games at this point. [SPEAKER_03]: I would like to see them start to wrap up. [SPEAKER_03]: Just put some connection pieces to kind of what has occurred, what hasn't occurred. [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe not necessarily, you know, give me, to your point, give a firm ending of a fall new Vegas, but at least kind of just put some connection pieces in, in between some of these games.

[SPEAKER_03]: Especially, it's a one thing that I really loved about the Mandalorian. [SPEAKER_03]: is the Mandalorian would pull from pre-random Star Wars. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: The cartoons and all sorts of things. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, one of my favorites was they actually pulled from robot chicken at one point.

[SPEAKER_03]: There was a line from robot chicken that made it into. [SPEAKER_03]: But I respected that. [SPEAKER_03]: But what it did was because there's so much Star Wars. [SPEAKER_03]: They did a really good job of kind of pulling it back in. [SPEAKER_03]: You don't necessarily have to tell me, hey, what's the cannon ending of a Fallout New Vegas?

[SPEAKER_03]: But if you can just kind of start bringing some of these disparate points together, to just give me a better grasp of what has happened here. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a lot of what we haven't seen is things that happened on the East Coast, Fallout 3, Fallout 4. [SPEAKER_02]: We haven't seen anything about the Institute.

[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't seen anything about Preston Garvey and I want to say responders, [SPEAKER_02]: But the minute men went and lose words so easily. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so there's and also a bunch of other follow three stuff So we there's a lot still out there heck go ahead. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, give me what happened to San Francisco Right, right I'm good in that one like just that [SPEAKER_03]: Who won?

[SPEAKER_03]: Like is that a choice like anyone? [SPEAKER_03]: Who did it to be a side with before we Yeah, I took out the unclean just I don't know. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't like my guess my guess is that they're they're not going to shy away with confirming things from fall at one two or tactics [SPEAKER_02]: But when it gets to three new Vegas and four and even 76 they're going to be a little bit like me a little bit big on that's fine, but it's because that's what they said they're going to do so if unless they change their minds I expect that they'll just keep with those Xbox games that the brotherhood of steel with it Yeah, that one that one is not on the canon lists.

[SPEAKER_03]: That is that they're the bottom of the like anybody who that one wasn't very good Yeah, I'm going to be honest like I've played I believe I've played every fallout can ever made and that one I'm going to be honest [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it's a good. [SPEAKER_03]: That's a good one. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I beat it.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I overly enjoyed it. [SPEAKER_03]: All right, but in tactics, which I do get free from the people. [SPEAKER_03]: They're like you enjoyed tactics. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's that's not that's usually a step above brotherhood of steel as a game still It's like a lot of boys, but it's still better than that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Good. [SPEAKER_03]: It's it's good. [SPEAKER_02]: It's good. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: All right. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you very much [SPEAKER_02]: Well, we got to wrap this up, John. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for joining me. [SPEAKER_02]: This has been super fun. [SPEAKER_02]: And is there anything you want to share before we wrap this up?

[SPEAKER_02]: We had it. [SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm good. [SPEAKER_03]: This has been fun as hell. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we are talking about one of my favorite video games. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, this is what I want to share. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm still pissed off that they had a countdown clock and the countdown clock is for a behind-the-scenes thing.

[SPEAKER_03]: I fell into the stupid trap. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, every time he fell out of his eyes. [SPEAKER_03]: I fell into that stupid trap. [SPEAKER_03]: I was so excited. [SPEAKER_03]: And my disappointment was so high. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Can I address this really quick? [SPEAKER_02]: Please.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I was on the hope train too. [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, well, maybe this is going to be a thing. [SPEAKER_02]: And then, of course, you go on the website and it's just a piece of a website. [SPEAKER_02]: And in retrospect, thinking through it, I'm like, okay, it's a piece of a website made by Amazon that has a bunch of elements where you can go and see 3D renders of different locations in the show.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And they have a countdown on another location that is connected to all of those things. [SPEAKER_02]: This wasn't on a Bethesda site. [SPEAKER_02]: This wasn't on Bethesda social media. [SPEAKER_02]: It posted, you know, exclusive. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure they probably, you know, shared a post from Amazon on it.

[SPEAKER_02]: But also, you and I know how corporations work, why would Bethesda give Amazon the right to a reveal for a game they're publishing that Amazon doesn't have any rights to other than to make a show, right? [SPEAKER_02]: Like, sometimes businesses coordinate marketing like this, but I [SPEAKER_02]: I know, look, like, in retrospect, I was like, didn't get a sense, but I can still dream.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I believe it too. [SPEAKER_03]: I buy lottery tickets on occasion too, Tom. [SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't mean I don't think I'm going to, I don't think I'm going to win the Powerball, but I have a good deal with seven hours of maybe I'll have to go to work tomorrow and then, you know, I have to go to work tomorrow.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right, but the other piece of this is the other piece of this and I don't have any insight information on this. [SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes I get like a pulled into things and I have some insight. [SPEAKER_02]: I have no insight information on this, but it seems like it would be like this doesn't mean that we're not getting a Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas remaster.

[SPEAKER_02]: They did the Oblivion remaster. [SPEAKER_02]: It's sold like hotcakes. [SPEAKER_02]: They're now going to release it on the Switch 2. [SPEAKER_02]: It's going to sell even more. [SPEAKER_02]: The the the the studio who worked on that will have now [SPEAKER_02]: three years experience working on that engine and updating it for unreal and all of that stuff and it's going to sell and my sense of it is if there just wasn't enough time to get that stuff finalized and get it out to the public so they can release it right now which would have made a lot of sense but it's just not ready that's how game development works but that doesn't mean we're not getting it at all and my guess is we will probably get a release buy about this time

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's that's true. [SPEAKER_03]: It's can't lead. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we're both, you know, you're marketing. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I'm sales. [SPEAKER_03]: I will be honest that I just think it was a miss because they've got so much time in this episode doing shot for shot remix of Fallen Vegas, right?

[SPEAKER_03]: That I would have you could have released it a hundred dollars and I wouldn't have bought it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was the first thing for that game. [SPEAKER_02]: Right, here's why I think they missed is that they did not realize season one was going to be as popular as it was, which meant that they didn't know to put the resources into those remasters and make them a big priority everything was also delayed because of covid and the oblivious remaster came out later than they expected and that team was already busy with that and working on it so by the time season one comes out becomes a huge hit and taught in team are like, hey, we need some synergy for season two.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, imagine, like, making a TV show is very difficult. [SPEAKER_02]: Making a video game is very difficult. [SPEAKER_02]: Try to coincide those things in a way. [SPEAKER_02]: So it was a positive thing. [SPEAKER_02]: They match up without extremely delaying one or the other. [SPEAKER_02]: That's an impossible task.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And I get that. [SPEAKER_03]: It was just more. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm still, I'd be disappointed. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, I'm still, I was still super helpful for it. [SPEAKER_02]: I was putting, I've been wanting to dive into the, the lore out, Wobbajack Mod Pack for Fallout 4.

[SPEAKER_02]: I have a download it and ready to go. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm wanted to play it, but I was putting it off because I was like, if we get a Fallout 3 or New Vegas Remaster this week, I'm playing that instead, but it didn't happen. [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm gonna go play that instead. [SPEAKER_02]: So there you go.

[SPEAKER_02]: But how can people get ahold of you and check out your other stuff? [SPEAKER_03]: All right, so my other stuff is the fault is not the fault. [SPEAKER_03]: My other stuff is the fault is the the 40k lower cast in the history of 40k. [SPEAKER_03]: They're both available on Spotify iTunes itself, whatever you're listening to this.

[SPEAKER_02]: You find it fine. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, fine. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a top of a wild for a game or if you like the top the side of Tom and my voice, you can check us out on retro recall where we talk about old games like actually fall out one at some point we'll get to. [SPEAKER_03]: But even even older like battle toads.

[SPEAKER_03]: Lemons. [SPEAKER_03]: Doom. [SPEAKER_00]: Strive fighter too. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, really kind of, it's us jumping into some Sonic sound jog. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Some of them are misses. [SPEAKER_03]: I'll be honest. [SPEAKER_03]: A couple of those games were like, well, this game sucked.

[SPEAKER_03]: But it went out, it's still fun to go back and have fun. [SPEAKER_03]: But it is a good time. [SPEAKER_03]: Come give us a listen, listen to middle-aged men talk about how much fun video games were when they were kids. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and we we were doing YouTube videos on it turns out that the audio podcast is better for this type of show than it is just fun YouTube so it is only on audio so go go listen and if you think it would be fun to hear to middle-age guys go back in time 30 years and play a game they haven't played in 30 35 years and also just soak in the nostalgia of it all Then this is absolutely the show for you whether you were back they're back there with us playing those games or you've

[SPEAKER_02]: you're younger and you never had the chance and you want to hear some perspectives about the way game development has evolved over time. [SPEAKER_02]: There's all sorts of stuff for lots of different people. [SPEAKER_02]: So go check that out. [SPEAKER_02]: Thanks again, John, for joining me.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll be back after just a quick break to go think our patrons and all of that. [SPEAKER_02]: So don't go anywhere. [SPEAKER_02]: Big thanks to John for taking the time to join me this week. [SPEAKER_02]: It's always a pleasure to hang out with him and talk fallout. [SPEAKER_02]: Also, thank you to all of the patrons who have signed up in the last two weeks.

[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't get to thank everybody last week because we were busy with the patron chat. [SPEAKER_02]: So welcome to Jess C. Lyle D. J. P. H. Griffin and White Brockley. [SPEAKER_02]: So glad that you decided to just sign up and get ad free episodes and anything else, depending on the different tiers.

[SPEAKER_02]: You can get T-shirts and stickers. [SPEAKER_02]: You can join us for our patron chats every month. [SPEAKER_02]: Also, if you'd like to help out another ways, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts.

[SPEAKER_02]: And if you leave a five star review, I'll read it out on a future episode. [SPEAKER_02]: Just like this, let's talk about Arcade Fire 87 who [SPEAKER_02]: who posted a comprehensive and well-structured, as someone who has been a fringe fan of Fallout for a number of years, I finally decided to take on the daunting task of learning the lore.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's often times hard between work and gaming for myself to dedicate long stretches of time to watch convoluted YouTube videos. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you Adam for Tom and his bite-sized, easy to digest and easy to retain lorecast. [SPEAKER_02]: I already feel more informed just 10 episodes in than from the time of this review there's over 300 episodes.

[SPEAKER_02]: I look forward to work now thanks to the show because it gives me something to enjoy while grinding through those 10 hour days. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you Tom for making it comprehensive fun and enjoyable. [SPEAKER_02]: I hope it's not too late to say, keep up the great work. [SPEAKER_02]: not too late and because of your support and everybody else's support, you keep the show going.

[SPEAKER_02]: So, thank you very much for that. [SPEAKER_02]: Also, this one from Jim Olpulg, G&JMLPUG, says, very informative. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm a long time Fallout fan played all the games, etc. [SPEAKER_02]: I am constantly learning while listening to every episode. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for your work involved.

[SPEAKER_02]: So thank you for taking the time to leave those reviews. [SPEAKER_02]: I really do appreciate it. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, and one last thing. [SPEAKER_02]: Next week's episode, we're done with season two, but that doesn't mean that you have to be done with watching fallout content. [SPEAKER_02]: I have a very special interview about a fan film project focused on fallout.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then I'm so excited for you all to hear it. [SPEAKER_02]: It's been it's been recorded for a few weeks now and just waiting to get out there for the right [SPEAKER_02]: Right release window after the show is done. [SPEAKER_02]: So I hope you enjoy that. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a little hint of what's coming And then we'll be back to some of the more common episodes I know a lot of people were enjoying the pre-war businesses and all of that and we'll be getting back to that that style of episode soon And if there are other topics you have questions about if you're somebody who's new to this podcast or new to the fall universe Because you were pulled in from the TV show or whatever Please comment.

[SPEAKER_02]: Let me know what you would be interested in learning more about and we'll see if [SPEAKER_02]: If there exists an episode out there, you can check that out already, but if it's something I haven't covered yet, then I'll consider putting it on the list. [SPEAKER_02]: But thank you to all of you, thank you for being a part of this community.

[SPEAKER_02]: I hope you have a wonderful week. [SPEAKER_02]: Go put on some power armor and punch a death claw. [SPEAKER_02]: I'll see you next time.
