428: We Built a Fallout Frankenstein's Monster

[SPEAKER_04]: We already talked with our patrons a month ago about spooky things, but you know what?

[SPEAKER_04]: We're not done talking about spooky things because last time they brought up a bunch of different ideas that haven't been in fallout before and we added them into fallout. [SPEAKER_04]: And this time we're going to create [SPEAKER_04]: a Frankenstein fallout monster that is made up of all of their ideas combined into one creature and then we're going to figure out how to kill it.

[SPEAKER_04]: And that's going to be the adventure. [SPEAKER_04]: I have no idea where this is going to go. [SPEAKER_04]: It's going to be ridiculous and everybody's here to join us. [SPEAKER_04]: Welcome back to everyone. [SPEAKER_04]: I know you've got ideas of what to share, so get in your head, what you think might be the sound that you're about to say when I count down from three.

[SPEAKER_04]: Here we go. [SPEAKER_04]: Get ready to unmute. [SPEAKER_04]: Three, two, one. [SPEAKER_12]: I don't know what it may. [SPEAKER_12]: Free loot over here. [SPEAKER_04]: I heard a turkey in there somewhere. [SPEAKER_04]: Is a turkey going to be something that's on the Frankenstein monster that we make?

[SPEAKER_04]: That's crazy. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, we've got a whole big group. [SPEAKER_04]: We've got a Jeremy Pumpkin, Cadpat, Leviathan, Debox, No Phil No Thrill, Era, Adam's child, germinator, Bracchio Dreamer, Ash, Mane Monkey, Lil Green, and Micah. [SPEAKER_04]: welcome back everybody who's been here before and if you're new thanks for joining us but here we're gonna kick this off with Jeremy, Jeremy volunteered to go first we're going to start Jeremy this is basically what we're doing into all of our listeners we're starting with a basic template of like let's start with just a super mutant body something got mutated and it looks kind of like a super mutant that's the foundation you can add anything you want to this

[SPEAKER_04]: it can be it you can replace a body part you can make it do something crazy you can change its personality you can whatever you want as creative as you want to be and I know knowing you Jeremy that you're going to come up with something everyone's going to be like wait what is that I can yeah I mean I'm just going to start start us off with the I'm very [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so is this whole body made out of pumpkin?

[SPEAKER_11]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: Is it shaped like a pumpkin and actually physically made out of pumpkin material? [SPEAKER_11]: We are going to say it's just a torso pumpkin. [SPEAKER_11]: So like you can put arms and legs on the thing, kind of like a Mr. [SPEAKER_11]: Potato Head. [SPEAKER_04]: Got it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Got it. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: And it's actually made out of pumpkin itself. [SPEAKER_04]: It's not just shaped like a pumpkin. [SPEAKER_11]: for now. [SPEAKER_11]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: So we've transformed what started as a super moon into a pumpkin. [SPEAKER_04]: Is it a giant pumpkin?

[SPEAKER_04]: It is a pumpkin the size of a super moon or is it actually like a little like regular size pumpkin? [SPEAKER_04]: Give me one second. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm going to roll a D and D dice for it. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, hey, we're bringing into pictures. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: We're bringing in some some R and G into this.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's see what we get. [SPEAKER_03]: We're doing all the world series and so on, but did you have to throw us a curveball this early? [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: That's is that's how Jeremy [SPEAKER_11]: 8 at a 20. [SPEAKER_11]: So it's about, it's about 40% big.

[SPEAKER_11]: 40% of what? [SPEAKER_11]: 40% big. [SPEAKER_11]: Whatever y'all are thinking. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: So okay. [SPEAKER_04]: So if we're starting with the Superman, then it's going to be about 40% the size of Superman. [SPEAKER_04]: So it's a pumpkin that's the size of like, what a large dog.

[SPEAKER_11]: Like, yeah, we'll say like the size of Scooby-Doo. [SPEAKER_04]: Scooby-Doo. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, it's a Scooby-Doo sized pumpkin. [SPEAKER_04]: That's where we're starting. [SPEAKER_04]: Cool. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, this is already going to be weird and anything that I thought was going to happen.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right, is there anything else that you can add to the qualities of this pumpkin, anything, any other descriptors, details that you want to make sure? [SPEAKER_11]: As a mutation being, as a mutation [SPEAKER_11]: It explodes seeds from the torso of its skin as an attack or like a defense measure or when it gets startled.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so like a skunk, like it seeds out like a skunk. [SPEAKER_04]: Got it. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, cool, cool. [SPEAKER_04]: With somebody light, I didn't set this up to take notes, but it would be very helpful with so many people. [SPEAKER_04]: If somebody would take notes about all these things and put them on a list together, or even just put them in the group chat.

[SPEAKER_04]: That would be amazing. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, Void, Void's can do it. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, Void cap, okay, as long as at least one person does it. [SPEAKER_03]: That is hard. [SPEAKER_03]: The seeds, attack seeds, or you distract them on how delicious pumpkin seeds can be. [SPEAKER_11]: Because they're now roasted pumpkin seeds, they're raw. [SPEAKER_11]: So, it's more like the exploding tree. [SPEAKER_11]: Okay, do we know of no exploding tree?

[SPEAKER_04]: The exploding, the singular exploding tree? [SPEAKER_11]: Wild topic. [SPEAKER_11]: There's a tree that has a defense mechanism that will explosively shoot out seeds from little pods on its bark. [SPEAKER_11]: Nice. [SPEAKER_04]: Nice. [SPEAKER_11]: Is it called a green tree tree exploding tree?

[SPEAKER_11]: Whatever. [SPEAKER_04]: That's cool. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so we've got an exploding pumpkin tree. [SPEAKER_10]: Adam's shot had a question to What do you know it is in the shape of a pumpkin, but we originally started with a super moon. [SPEAKER_10]: So does it currently have super mutant limbs on a pumpkin?

[SPEAKER_10]: I was starting bare slate, so Pumpkin. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he removed all super meat and quality. [SPEAKER_04]: It just replaced it with Pumpkin. [SPEAKER_04]: Now just so everyone knows, you can't replace the Pumpkin part of what he added in. [SPEAKER_04]: You can only add more to it. [SPEAKER_04]: Now that's where we're at with an actual suggestion from one of you.

[SPEAKER_04]: So all right, so we're starting with the Pumpkin. [SPEAKER_04]: Let's move on to Pumpkin King, Pumpkin King. [SPEAKER_04]: I know Kat Pat, you got a question. [SPEAKER_04]: Can is it real quick? [SPEAKER_04]: I wonder we got to keep this going. [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, you got it. [SPEAKER_12]: There you go.

[SPEAKER_12]: I, I'm just having a little bit of trouble with Jeremy's audio. [SPEAKER_12]: What was the idea? [SPEAKER_04]: He's a pumpkin. [SPEAKER_04]: Just a large pumpkin is a dog's large dog size pumpkin. [SPEAKER_07]: He immediately threw me off here because I had an idea and this totally threw that out the way.

[SPEAKER_07]: Well, it was the idea. [SPEAKER_07]: Maybe we can make it work with the giant pocket. [SPEAKER_07]: I wanted to add something from the actually, you said it's 40% size of the Superman, right? [SPEAKER_07]: Yes. [SPEAKER_07]: Yes. [SPEAKER_07]: Okay, can I grow it? [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, as long as you don't change its pumpkinness or the things it does.

[SPEAKER_07]: No, no, no, no, I'm going to make the size of fog crawler. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: So it's a fog crawler-sized pumpkin. [SPEAKER_04]: Are you doing anything else to it? [SPEAKER_04]: You've made a bigger. [SPEAKER_07]: I'm going to make it so that when it moves, it makes that giant skittering sound.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: So it skitters around. [SPEAKER_04]: How does it move? [SPEAKER_04]: Does it roll? [SPEAKER_07]: That were I guess somebody else is going to have to figure that out. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: So it's bigger now.

[SPEAKER_04]: He had to make a skittering sound when it moves around. [SPEAKER_04]: Anybody have questions for pumpkin on this. [SPEAKER_04]: About the moving giant pumpkin. [SPEAKER_02]: How does he talk? [SPEAKER_02]: How must we make the noise. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't know if it is a skittering sound that he makes with his mouth like he talks.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's just the sound that I'm doing. [SPEAKER_07]: It's so when, you know how like when you're fighting your fog crawler in our harbor, it makes that moving sound when it moves. [SPEAKER_02]: I haven't played for that. [SPEAKER_02]: But I can think of what it is. [SPEAKER_04]: Pumpkin, can you, can you do an approximation with your voice?

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so yeah, so it makes a sound when we move around and it's bigger any other questions. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't see any other questions. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, let's move on to CADPAT. [SPEAKER_04]: CADPAT, what are you adding to this weird pumpkin thing that we've made so far?

[SPEAKER_12]: Okay, so for mine, I'm taking something from Ojibwe and First Nations culture, something called a deer woman. [SPEAKER_04]: Wait, a deer woman or deer worm? [SPEAKER_04]: Say that again? [SPEAKER_12]: Yes. [SPEAKER_12]: So the story in Eastern woodlands and great planes is that if a man or whoever treats women, children, elderly whoever does not deserve it badly, the deer one will show up and kind of [SPEAKER_12]: do things to them to punish them for their bad behavior the guy realizes that oh she has dear legs I'm screwed oh okay okay so how does this work with the giant pumpkin yeah what I'm thinking is maybe it has dear legs okay so only attacks people with low karma [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, okay got it.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, okay, so the whole pumpkin itself is hoisted upon these two little deer legs. [SPEAKER_04]: Are they four? [SPEAKER_04]: Are they four legs or two? [SPEAKER_04]: They're four. [SPEAKER_12]: We'll do four because it's a fairly big. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, okay, and are the legs proportional to the size of the, so if the pumpkin itself is the size of a fog crawler.

[SPEAKER_04]: Are there legs also about the height of a fog crawler? [SPEAKER_04]: So it's like way up on stilts. [SPEAKER_04]: Or are the legs like little like actual deer sized legs? [SPEAKER_04]: Tiny underneath the giant pumpkin. [SPEAKER_12]: I think we'll be funnier if they were just time little legs underneath the pumpkin and that's how it helps God knows.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, like they're totally tracks because then like maybe the back of the pumpkin slides on the ground And that's what makes the sound as it moves the pumpkin added in. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, man. [SPEAKER_04]: This is crazy. [SPEAKER_04]: All right Anyone else want to chime in add them straight out questions for cats.

[SPEAKER_10]: I just wanted to note that I'm putting all these descriptors into chat GPT and I'm gonna have it generate this That's amazing at the end. [SPEAKER_10]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: I am have to slightly adapt my original plan because of the change in form, but okay. [SPEAKER_02]: And let's say if you shoot it too much at the top, it bursts open and two heads come out.

[SPEAKER_02]: Those are the farmers that originally grew the pump kid and mutated into it and they constantly fight. [SPEAKER_02]: Discrement whoever. [SPEAKER_02]: Destroyed a pumpkin. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, dare you destroy our pumpkin. [SPEAKER_04]: So, wait, wait, so, okay, so, this is great. [SPEAKER_04]: So, are they living inside the pumpkin?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so they, the pumpkin is there. [SPEAKER_02]: It's maybe just their heads. [SPEAKER_04]: Just their heads. [SPEAKER_02]: Used into the, in the sense, inside of the pumpkin. [SPEAKER_04]: Got it, got it. [SPEAKER_04]: So, okay, so maybe the seeds being shot out are the defense mechanism when the heads pop out and they blow the seeds all over the place.

[SPEAKER_04]: And then they yell at you and they're like, [SPEAKER_02]: And the two of them don't get a log. [SPEAKER_02]: They caused it to fight with each other. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Like the three head of giant in the holy correct. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_12]: Uh, so when you the way you're describing it, uh, is it kind of like the, I think they're called bizarre groups from borderlands to the thing where if you shoot the helmet, yeah, the head really, yeah, and whatever.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if you're familiar with it. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's a kind of like a borderlands. [SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of like that. [SPEAKER_04]: The problem, the, the difference is that one already had a head and then the head poked like pops out even more, whereas this one, like the head's not showing off the top of the pumpkin.

[SPEAKER_04]: The pumpkin takes damage. [SPEAKER_04]: The head's [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Wait, the skin hug us, we're going to start off the chest. [SPEAKER_04]: Right, except this is the top of the pumpkin and it's too human. [SPEAKER_04]: It's the hard way with each other. [SPEAKER_04]: Great.

[SPEAKER_04]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_04]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_04]: Any other questions? [SPEAKER_04]: I don't see any other questions. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, and you made it even more weird. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, if you have me long time first time, but yeah, I'm thinking it needs a way of sustenance and so what if the shoulders of the pumpkin feed the two heads that live in it and the seeds by having an OG fallout and 76 reference, there's two floaters coming off the side of it.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, feed it with sustenance. [SPEAKER_04]: So are they like attached and then the detach and go hunt things and bring them back or do they stay attached? [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know how a pumpkin has a shoulder, but what the hell let's go. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's the sides to the next to the stem.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's like there's these two other things that stick out. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Or even maybe one to a ridge. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: That would be a lot of them. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's going to need a lot of food that's got to hold that much. [SPEAKER_04]: yeah so these are almost like they're like floaters that hang out on top and kind of like they're almost like tentacles that come off the top of the yeah i think it is forgive the time but talk about [SPEAKER_04]: That's okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Anybody have questions for debocks on how this works and what's going on? [SPEAKER_04]: Adam's job has questions. [SPEAKER_04]: You're going to get the prize for most questions asked. [SPEAKER_10]: I know I keep asking questions.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're almost like these like, or shaped blob things that like, kind of drape and float around.

[SPEAKER_03]: So imagine what a dish with teeth for a head. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, that would be another way to describe it. [SPEAKER_04]: Think of it like the bottom, but think of like, just do a Google search and just look up. [SPEAKER_04]: Thought 76 Flutter. [SPEAKER_04]: That is going to be the better image than the one you want to tell it.

[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, it's a Flutter from 77. [SPEAKER_10]: There you go. [SPEAKER_04]: There you go. [SPEAKER_04]: And at least two of them, one on one on each side. [SPEAKER_04]: And so imagine like the little tentacle, like draping thing that comes off the bottom of it, is connected down onto the top of the pumpkin.

[SPEAKER_04]: And the rest of the Flutter comes up off of that. [SPEAKER_04]: Right, am I getting it right to box the same to be what he was with. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, that seemed to be what you were picturing. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm glad to make this so much more horrific than it was.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this is getting even weirder. [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, anyone else have questions about these floaters. [SPEAKER_04]: Can't that. [SPEAKER_12]: What is there attached by like an umbilical cord almost instead of vines, just like some sort of it can be like the overgrown but some fleshy umbilical cord so like they the folders can go and graze and do whatever and they yeah I'm more like a monkey y'all good events even a pumpkin vine that works like an umbilical it's both at the same time yeah for yes is it's slimy I hope it's slimy [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it must be.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, awesome. [SPEAKER_04]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_04]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_04]: If you get too close to it, you can get like wrapped up in it like a dog in its own leash. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, plus five rads. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there you go. [SPEAKER_04]: There you go. [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, yeah, so when it gets attacked, if it doesn't blow up the nuke, the heads pop out, the seeds shoot out, then the heads just both scream at the same time, probably in very dissonant notes that are just like a half step off of each other, so it's weird. [SPEAKER_04]: And then everything gets scared away and then the heads pop back down and then it goes on its way, slip it around or doing whatever with this little deer legs.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because if you're talking like left for dead monster, that feels kind of, I don't know, kind of like that sort of. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_09]: I mean, that would work. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, so it's got this big arm off the side and it uses it for local motion sometimes, but it also charges things.

[SPEAKER_04]: Does it punch with it? [SPEAKER_04]: Does it grab things? [SPEAKER_09]: I would say that if you try and hide behind a wall and it knows you're there, it can punch to the wall and get rid of your cover. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so yeah, so it's kind of its main instrument of being able to manipulate the world around it along with the floaters that come off of it and do stuff too.

[SPEAKER_04]: Uh huh. [SPEAKER_05]: So you can weaken it as it's going to be terrible and that's just that that's just the start. [SPEAKER_04]: right and it's the it's attached to it so we can't get rid of it and so constantly playing unless it starts freaking out because it's got Christmas music playing yep okay I like this Micah Micah's got some more with you [SPEAKER_09]: that it, you can hack into the pit boy that reminds me of one of the new add-ons for the fall for or there's a gun you can hack into robots and stuff.

[SPEAKER_09]: What if it's, you know, with that, not just play music but kind of manipulate what it does, I guess. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's biological, so it's not a robot, so you would have to have like something that would like get it to act different, right? [SPEAKER_03]: I'll give him a lift up point and just like Christmas music all the time.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so yeah, I like that too. [SPEAKER_04]: So maybe that's what, maybe that's what changes its behavior is the Christmas music drives a crazy and then it starts becoming more frantic and more frantic and then you lure it to the white springs and then into, do you lure it into the white springs and get a trap like Pumpkin was saying?

[SPEAKER_07]: Is that what you do pumpkin like you get it to bash with your front doors and like down into like the shopping area That's just a bash is through like a room and then the floor you detonate the floor and end of the floor. [SPEAKER_07]: There's nothing but Christmas and they've already said it all up I'm completely surrounding.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's already set up. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Larry set up and there's like ornaments and lights and trees and all sorts of stuff.
