[SPEAKER_00]: 5, 6, 7, 8 secrets and loans and loans. [SPEAKER_01]: Hi everybody, welcome back to Gilmore to say with Terran Haley. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm Terran. [SPEAKER_01]: This is Haley. [SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Haley. [SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Terran. [SPEAKER_00]: You cold? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a little chilly. [SPEAKER_00]: It's chilly out there.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's quite cold. [SPEAKER_00]: According to my phone, it is 30 degrees, but the real feel is 15. [SPEAKER_01]: Dude, ours is 23 degrees feels like 11. [SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, don't let her be birds. [SPEAKER_00]: Who's to be even colder tomorrow? [SPEAKER_01]: It is really, January is testing us.

[SPEAKER_01]: She really is. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a hard time. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a hard time time. [SPEAKER_01]: January is a chilly month. [SPEAKER_01]: January is also kind of like a no-plot just vibes month. [SPEAKER_01]: What the vibes are I don't know bad, but the vibes are not great, but we also love a no-plot just vibes kind of episode on Gilmore girls, and I think what better Territelists would have no plots just vibes episode is secrets and loans.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's a no-plot just vibes episode [SPEAKER_00]: You know, people have come back at us when we say no plot. [SPEAKER_00]: Just vibes are like, oh, yes, there's a plot. [SPEAKER_00]: The whole episode is a plot. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, no, no, no, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't have any bearing on the rest of the season.

[SPEAKER_00]: It really doesn't. [SPEAKER_00]: It never really comes up again. [SPEAKER_00]: Not almost never. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And I would say almost everything. [SPEAKER_00]: Almost everything in secrets and loans never comes back up. [SPEAKER_00]: We're just vibe and to get more girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're vibe and what they need that right now. [SPEAKER_01]: I think so too. [SPEAKER_01]: I think we need a no plot just vibes. [SPEAKER_00]: do we feel good? [SPEAKER_01]: Do we feel good right now? [SPEAKER_00]: I mean like in the episode do we feel good in secrets and thoughts? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah I guess I don't know it's just like kind of cozy it's one of those episodes that makes you want to curl up with some hot chocolate and like stare at the snow and if you're on the east coast you are staring at snow freezing freezing or you're you're you're staring at your breath coming out of your mouth because you can see it because it's cold it is very chilly [SPEAKER_00]: That's also a perfect time for us to have done cold opens because we opened the cold it's Yeah, the colds were open that winter storm fern rolled right in is out for me Fern yeah, fern okay, I didn't know everybody just calling it ironic

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, and I bet she hates it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she's like, hello. [SPEAKER_00]: Why have a name? [SPEAKER_00]: I have a name that doesn't actually go with a winter storm. [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: You would think for her to be like, she couldn't grow. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I know.

[SPEAKER_01]: What would you name her? [SPEAKER_00]: Burr. [SPEAKER_00]: Winter storm burr. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you heard of your first house? [SPEAKER_00]: Winter storm. [SPEAKER_00]: It just stormed my hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm with you. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, famously on this podcast, we have recapped every episode of Gilmore Girls on Patreon, and we want to leave this place.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, honestly, some of them twice. [SPEAKER_00]: Wait, can I tell you before we continue on? [SPEAKER_00]: I think that sequence alone is the reason we did the rewatch club. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because so much of our Lord during Gilmouray visited was like, did we like that episode? [SPEAKER_00]: Or is it just because we keep talking about like that was just like the best no plot.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it just vibes episode. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure. [SPEAKER_00]: And like as we went through, we were like, we really need to rewatch that one. [SPEAKER_00]: We need to rewatch that one. [SPEAKER_00]: We need to check. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm pretty sure this is like what the episode that launched a thousand rewatch episodes.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's not a thousand. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, but it feels like that trust chapter time was set down to do it. [SPEAKER_01]: We're like damn. [SPEAKER_01]: There's so many We're like, well, there's so many episodes. [SPEAKER_00]: We can more girls. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we really, really bit off more than we could do.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, for sure. [SPEAKER_01]: So we wanted to revisit an episode that we aired. [SPEAKER_01]: I believe in 2022. [SPEAKER_01]: We were a bit miss. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Little baby podcasters. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's going to sound a little different. [SPEAKER_01]: This is going to seem a lot different.

[SPEAKER_01]: But this is an episode that we covered in 2021, season two, episode 11 from Gilmore Girl of Secrets and Loans. [SPEAKER_00]: And we hope you enjoy it. [SPEAKER_00]: Stay warm. [SPEAKER_01]: Hi everybody, welcome back to Gilmore to say Gilmore revisited with Tara and Haley. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm Tara.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is Haley. [SPEAKER_01]: Hi Haley. [SPEAKER_01]: Hi Tara. [SPEAKER_01]: We're here to talk secrets and we're here to talk loans. [SPEAKER_00]: Can I tell you a secret? [SPEAKER_01]: Tell me a secret. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh god, I didn't have anything ready. [SPEAKER_00]: I just got to get some loans.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know. [SPEAKER_01]: It's very on the end. [SPEAKER_01]: That's okay. [SPEAKER_01]: That's all right. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna keep a lot of secrets or do I. I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: This was a very, uh, home episode, not gonna lie to y'all. [SPEAKER_01]: Not to, not to curb your anticipation, not to like, start it off on a low note.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I actually didn't like this episode as much as I thought I was going to. [SPEAKER_00]: Today feels like the perfect sort of day to watch it because it's like 40 degrees completely gray outside. [SPEAKER_00]: So rainy. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I have a hot coffee, which is, I'm usually an iced coffee girl.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know you are. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a table-knit sweater. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: It just, like, fix socks. [SPEAKER_00]: Put yourself in the mood here. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even mean to. [SPEAKER_00]: I was just in that mood and then the secrets and loans because we're about or we just talked about our winter episodes and this is definitely one of them definitely.

[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but you are a very Gilmore girl today. [SPEAKER_01]: Your mug is very Lorely blue. [SPEAKER_01]: I see no Christmas. [SPEAKER_01]: Look at the house. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I'm so cute. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And then you're wearing a white cable and it's what are very, where you go more.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I, you're very Gilmore girls today. [SPEAKER_01]: I know, look at that. [SPEAKER_00]: You're in the right mood. [SPEAKER_00]: Just in the right frame of mind. [SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't take us in some loans. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love that so much. [SPEAKER_01]: So let's get into it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do it. [SPEAKER_00]: So this is episode 11. [SPEAKER_00]: Secrets and loans. [SPEAKER_00]: Can we say that? [SPEAKER_00]: We'll just say one more time. [SPEAKER_00]: Secrets and loans. [SPEAKER_00]: It was rendered written by Linda Vosal Guzic, who she wrote in season one. [SPEAKER_00]: And then this is directed by Nicole Hall of Center, who I looked up how to pronounce her name because I didn't want to get it wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm so glad that I did because I was like blown away by what Nicole has done. [SPEAKER_00]: She was nominated for an Academy Award for, um, can you ever forgive me with Melissa McCarthy? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Cartney, Cartney. [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: I was getting wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: She read the screenplay for it. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: She also wrote the screenplay for the last dual with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. [SPEAKER_00]: So she has gone on to like be very successful in what she's done here. [SPEAKER_01]: Did she read the screenplay for Glitter? [SPEAKER_00]: She did not.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thought you could control the weather and wrote this green blade a glitter. [SPEAKER_00]: I told you I worked with the director of glitter out of project one. [SPEAKER_00]: It's really. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, fine. [SPEAKER_00]: Did you know Jess Mariano? [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't ask him. [SPEAKER_00]: What is that?

[SPEAKER_00]: Random. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But this episode aired on January 22nd, 2002, our first 2002 episode, we are very far off from the date of this. [SPEAKER_00]: So we really missed the cut off here. [SPEAKER_01]: That's okay. [SPEAKER_00]: The description in the DVD booklet is stop bugging me.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's funny. [SPEAKER_00]: Lorelai's house has termites and the girls have no money for repairs. [SPEAKER_00]: Emily offers a loan but Lorelai box at becoming even more indebted to her. [SPEAKER_00]: Lane starts shaking her palm palms. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, not that. [SPEAKER_00]: That's that's great.

[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of love that. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the Netflix description is Laura like can't afford to repair her home's extensive termite damage, but becomes angry when Rory involves Emily, who again offers Laura like a loan. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: I think both of those work. [SPEAKER_00]: Both of those are exactly what they need to be.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, perfectly fine. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Great job, you guys. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, great. [SPEAKER_00]: That's all about that. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So the chapter titles, one PSA-T-Rific. [SPEAKER_00]: Hello. [SPEAKER_00]: I love that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Gorgeous. [SPEAKER_00]: Two termites, semicolon crashing at Sugees. [SPEAKER_00]: Three, money doesn't talk. [SPEAKER_00]: It argues. [SPEAKER_00]: Great. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, for raw raw lean, semicolon and loan hunt, five Emily as Claire's, Emily as Claire's Thomas, six and credits. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's pretty much wraps it up. [SPEAKER_00]: That's about it. [SPEAKER_00]: I love raw raw lean. [SPEAKER_00]: And raw raw lean. [SPEAKER_00]: T-Rific. [UNKNOWN]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I wrote that down in my colobin notes, PSA T-Rific, just so I don't more love it so much.

[SPEAKER_01]: But we we start this episode off with Filmy Up, which I hear in my mind not only because I used to watch this episode a lot when I was a kid, I think. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why there were a lot of moments in here that like brought me back to my bedroom. [SPEAKER_01]: This is a portable TV player.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, I was going to say to say this episode really brought me back to ABC family. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like just like it feels really cozy. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what it is. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is that episode we were talking about last week on the pod. [SPEAKER_00]: But someone was like, Gilmore Girls is no plot just vibes.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is, this is that kind of this one. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is just vibes. [SPEAKER_01]: This is really just vibes. [SPEAKER_01]: But we get the info that Laura Lye is now on her sixth cup of coffee of the day. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, should we count six or do we just count the one? [SPEAKER_01]: We only saw her drink the one and even then she kind of left it to Rory.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think we just count the one because I feel like we'd have to go back and add a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, it's 430, so I feel like that's not too many cups of coffee or it's just been sitting at Luke's and it's at the same six. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it sounds like you can't like maybe Luke's at the same consume six cups of coffee.

[SPEAKER_00]: Did you get like maybe she came in this morning and had coffee? [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: That's also very possible because it's like you didn't go in today. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we'll count it as one. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I love that she's sitting there waiting for Ruri and then I think is she going to business school?

[SPEAKER_01]: They don't really say, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she's sitting there for her. [SPEAKER_01]: She is class. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I just I love this cold open that I constantly forget is a cold open because the next scene I always think is a cold open with K. Sarasara.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it totally has a lot of vibes, you know what I got here so right so I always forget that this is in fact a cold open But I love the banter between Luke and Laura live throughout this entire scene. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that she's like I'm just an enabler when he leaves the pot And then they have the whole banter back and forth about the rocky horror picture show But in the midst of this we learn that raise gotten her PSAT scores back.

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you remember what your PSAT scores were? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, no, not at all. [SPEAKER_01]: I think the mine were in the 600s, because that's kind of all I can think. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they were in the 500s. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: I was definitely not in the 70s.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would literally be pulling it out of my butt. [SPEAKER_01]: But, but, I do remember when I took the PSATs, thinking to myself in my mind, it's like the baby gap. [SPEAKER_01]: They don't count as much. [SPEAKER_01]: These are like the baby gap. [SPEAKER_01]: They don't count, but I actually did really well on my PSATs.

[SPEAKER_01]: I remember. [SPEAKER_01]: And then like, didn't do as well on my SATs, I think, because I got a little khaki. [SPEAKER_00]: But are you someone who, like, gets happy looking at a sunset? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't get unhappy looking at a sunset. [SPEAKER_00]: Did we mention that she got her first cup of coffee?

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we did. [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: I blacked out. [SPEAKER_00]: I do that full time to times going well. [SPEAKER_00]: I do love when she does tell her a scores thing. [SPEAKER_00]: I do not an idiot. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, thank God, you're not an idiot. [SPEAKER_01]: And then she says those are damn good scores.

[SPEAKER_01]: Those are PSAT Rific. [SPEAKER_01]: I just love that so much. [SPEAKER_01]: And I love that there's celebration of her scores is going to be them watching the market horror picture show. [SPEAKER_01]: Which is Brett's favorite movie. [SPEAKER_01]: By the way, that is Brett's favorite movie.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love that. [SPEAKER_01]: He loves that movie. [SPEAKER_01]: He's going to get a Frankenferter chat to you. [SPEAKER_01]: That's his next one. [SPEAKER_01]: I think after he gets back from Italy. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so he's your tattoo. [SPEAKER_00]: I need to get my tattoo soon. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you do.

[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't even talk about that on my guide. [SPEAKER_01]: You and I know that a thousand followers are happy birthday. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_00]: Exciting. [SPEAKER_00]: It's been in a exciting milestone month of like million streams, 100,000 followers. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I've got to get my tattoo exciting.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to say what it is. [SPEAKER_00]: I think I told you what it was. [SPEAKER_00]: You told me. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I might have changed my mind, but I didn't. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: But I have to find someone to do it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely find someone you trust. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm very excited. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I have to say to put my relationship with Brett into context, this banter between Lorely and Luke when they're talking about Dr. Frankenferter and him coming as Frankenferter and him coming dressed for the Rocky Horror Picture Show, like that is me and Brett.

[SPEAKER_01]: We would like go a lot of it. [SPEAKER_01]: Kind of, yes, Brett would actually do it, but like we will talk like that where it's just like, okay, so I'm going to show up and I'll do that. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, if you show up and the lights aren't on, [SPEAKER_01]: Just, you know, I'll see you tomorrow.

[SPEAKER_01]: That is our entire reaction. [SPEAKER_00]: He's Luke. [SPEAKER_00]: He's Luke. [SPEAKER_01]: He's Luke. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think this has seen, do you think the Lucas seen the Rocky horror picture show? [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I don't think that he has because of what we learn about him in season four, like when he comes over and he's ever seen Casplancan, he's like, lower-rise kind of taking him through the motions of watching all these movies that he's never seen.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I have to imagine that that's not really. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's not really his scene. [SPEAKER_01]: Can I tell you, I don't dislike the Rocky Horror Picture Show, but I certainly, it's not necessarily my cup of tea. [SPEAKER_01]: So I can imagine it being Luke Daines' cup of tea.

[SPEAKER_00]: To be a favorite movie, I feel like it's like movie that you really watch a lot to get to that level. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's just not a movie I'd watch a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: No, me either. [SPEAKER_00]: Fun time, you know, yeah, you call it a time warp? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely. [SPEAKER_01]: But I would die to see Luke as Dr. Frankenferter.

[SPEAKER_00]: be great. [SPEAKER_01]: I think he's going to look great. [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to do tonight at the showing tonight. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Sam. [SPEAKER_01]: And then Laura, like, puts on her wine, shirt, but jacket, which is her jacket, this entire episode. [SPEAKER_01]: This is different.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like this one's more like a orangey color. [SPEAKER_00]: It might be the same one presenting it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's the same one. [SPEAKER_00]: Because this one's a lot more rust than I remember. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, oh, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought that it was the same one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it looks like the same one to me, but I'm curious what our best use think if they were like no, I think he is like a wine one and then a navy one and then this like rusty one [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I might be making that up though. [SPEAKER_01]: You might be, but I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: I think I just assumed it was the wine wine.

[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently possible. [SPEAKER_00]: But this is when Lane brings up Lane in a very natural way. [SPEAKER_00]: She is setting up the conflict for later in a way that is a lot better than the way that we're reset up Paris in the last cold open. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she's actually a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: She's been hard to reach lately.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It was just really natural to bring her in the conversation, but casually, I was like, ooh. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm gonna tell you something. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't like the the conflict with Lane. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's pointless and random and makes no sense And we never hear about it again.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why they threw it in there. [SPEAKER_00]: I do not like it I like it if they would have continued on with this idea I don't think this was an introduction to an actual like [SPEAKER_01]: through line throughout the season or at least through a few episodes. [SPEAKER_01]: This would have been a really natural way to bring it up.

[SPEAKER_01]: We never hear about this again. [SPEAKER_01]: This was so pointless. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's nothing to do with Lane. [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's all Rory. [SPEAKER_01]: Again, it's so... Yeah, it's so, so odd. [SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, I just didn't get down with that. [SPEAKER_01]: But I agree with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was a really natural way to bring her into the conversation. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I just, the conflict that they're setting up is not one that I think we needed. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it makes a lot of sense for what we know about Rory to feel this way. [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I'm glad she's working that out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I will say on that note, all of the conflict that we hear about in this episode, we never really hear about again. [SPEAKER_01]: Lorelei having to get her house fixed because of the termites we never hear about it again. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we hear about the loan ever again.

[SPEAKER_01]: Lane is a cheerleader and never hear about it again. [SPEAKER_01]: the PSATs, it was just isolated in one episode. [SPEAKER_01]: No plot just vibes, just vibes. [SPEAKER_01]: So then we go to our faux cold open. [SPEAKER_01]: with Cacerasa Raw. [SPEAKER_01]: Again, I always think of this as a cold open, even though it's not.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we get two cups of coffee. [SPEAKER_01]: We get our second and third of the coffee we're already drinking. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the same. [SPEAKER_00]: Like a piece of snow or something falls from the ceiling and lower lies room and she's sitting on the bed. [SPEAKER_00]: No, I didn't.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was just like a piece of something because I caught my eye and I went back and watch it six times because I was like, yes, something falls from the ceiling. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's very small. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like a little piece of paper, but like, I just, I got so hypercalcating. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm so cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't notice that. [SPEAKER_01]: Just floats down. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love this this folkhold open because I love that it's like a really charming wonderful morning It's cold, you know, it's a little like favorite time of year. [SPEAKER_01]: She gets up she's smiling She makes her coffee rose already drinking the coffee she walks on to the porch I love this wide shot of her coming around to the porch.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's so beautiful and snowy and then her foot gets stuck in the porch Yeah, taking ever be happy for too long. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I know [SPEAKER_01]: And then Kirk comes along as the accelerator. [SPEAKER_01]: I love it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's perfect. [SPEAKER_00]: Before we move to that though, this is a big pajama episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: It really is. [SPEAKER_00]: Where he's like really rotating the jammy chair. [SPEAKER_01]: Where was he doing her jammy? [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, she's got some cute pajamas. [SPEAKER_01]: I love it. [SPEAKER_00]: But I love that I love that outfits that they change into because Lorelei is really in Lorelei.

[SPEAKER_00]: I smell snow blue. [SPEAKER_00]: She is for the whole episode here. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's for the last scene and that red sweater. [SPEAKER_00]: But yes, you're right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's very big. [SPEAKER_01]: Laurel, I smell snow blue. [SPEAKER_00]: But then I'm Kirk, who knows a lot of our termings.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: Kurt delivers the horrifying news, which I just love the entire exchange, where he's like, can we talk about the sad side? [SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to move off the porch because this thing loves it. [SPEAKER_00]: They made him frozen waffles. [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: That's one of the mid-conversation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Those are those for me. [SPEAKER_01]: So good, and then when he when he does in fact tell her how much it's gonna cause he's like somewhere in the neighborhood of $15,000 and she goes Tell it to move to another neighborhood. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just love money. [SPEAKER_00]: It is a lot of $15,000.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know you she won't see it until the next Till the next season when she ain't happy birthday baby, and she gets that check from her dad [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that's where you kind of wonder, like, could she have used that money to pay off this loan? [SPEAKER_01]: This is the loan we never really hear about again.

[SPEAKER_01]: The money that she owes her parents. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's all encompassing. [SPEAKER_01]: That, you know, that's, like, lumped in, but I don't think so. [SPEAKER_01]: She got a loan from a bank, not from Emily. [SPEAKER_00]: We're like super far off from there, but like $75,000 for the money that Richard gave her, Chilton was probably much more expensive than that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: I know, but we also have to imagine she's been paying them back over the last couple of years. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, do you think so? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know either. [SPEAKER_01]: So maybe it was kind of like the last amount that she still owed them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I wonder. [SPEAKER_00]: Because we never really hear them talking about lore-like sending them any money or pay off. [SPEAKER_00]: No, back in anyway. [SPEAKER_00]: No, we never do. [SPEAKER_00]: We never do. [SPEAKER_00]: Um... Because I never thought she did. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: It's very interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: So... [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, he delivers this horrifying news. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you notice someone he walks away? [SPEAKER_01]: There's a ladder behind the lore-like's Jeep. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's like one of the crew guy's ladders behind the jeep.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like what's not like. [SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't think it's like Kirk's ladder. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, behind her jeep, we make no sense. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I just want to add a bit of you in the house. [SPEAKER_01]: I can't turn up the shot. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I think that. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a ladder there. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't notice it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's my little Ted Bay. [SPEAKER_01]: You had the little piece of snow falling from the ceiling. [SPEAKER_01]: And I look at it with a little ladder action behind the tire. [SPEAKER_01]: Look at that.

[SPEAKER_01]: We noticed things. [SPEAKER_01]: So let me go to Chilton. [SPEAKER_01]: And I never understood as a kid when I would watch this episode, what Madeleine and Louise were doing. [SPEAKER_01]: And now I realize that they're eating corn chips for lunch and they're counting them out, which is so yeah on brand for 2002, but also just like, I thought they were just counting chips.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I never like really, yeah, I think they were like cautioning out corn chips for lunch. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, okay, I figured that I want to have as an adult, because I think as a kid, I was like, [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, doing the chips. [SPEAKER_00]: Though to be fair, it seems like Louise is counting out her chips to eat because she's like, I need another chip.

[SPEAKER_00]: Madeline seems like she's actually just playing with the chips. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That's that's very true. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, but speaking of the two of them, I love that when Paris sits down and she's asking them about her PSAT scores. [SPEAKER_01]: when like they don't ask her back and she starts just talking about it, you know?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: On her own accord, I love their reaction too because they're like giving her no beats. [SPEAKER_01]: They're like, we do not care about this. [SPEAKER_01]: Just tell us what your fucking scores are. [SPEAKER_01]: And I love that when she does eventually preface it with Roy who asks because she's like, okay, just spit it out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Just tell us. [SPEAKER_01]: What'd you get? [SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, I'm not bragging or anything. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you remember when people used to say that all the time, especially at this time of like in our lives? [SPEAKER_01]: Because we were in middle school when this was going on.

[SPEAKER_01]: But like, that was such a thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, and by the way, I'm not bragging or anything. [SPEAKER_01]: But honestly, admittedly, I probably said that a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: But it was one of those things. [SPEAKER_01]: We were like, you just didn't know how to brag. [SPEAKER_01]: And so you'd prophesied by telling people you were about to brag.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was like a lot of things like you didn't really know how to like talk about your self I guess and that's sort of way without like feeling like you you equal parts wanted to brag but like didn't want to yeah you said no how I know I know people at that age are kind of assholes because they're just figuring life out yeah but then when Paris does eventually you know share her scores metal and Louise are like great that's great good for you.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Rory will not share her scores. [SPEAKER_01]: Madeline Louise watching Paris just absolutely unhinged over Rory. [SPEAKER_01]: That's another score is one of my favorite things to have watched in this episode. [SPEAKER_01]: Because it's just, they love it. [SPEAKER_01]: They love what Rory's doing.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, this is a good story. [SPEAKER_01]: They love Rory. [SPEAKER_01]: They really do. [SPEAKER_01]: I think they like low key secretly love Rory. [SPEAKER_01]: But this is one of the first times that they kind of like, [SPEAKER_01]: love watching Rory torment Paris, which we don't really see very often.

[SPEAKER_01]: We kind of, we actually, I think they just love the drama. [SPEAKER_01]: I think Madeleine really loves Rory, but like, Madeleine and Louise are usually loving watching Paris torture Rory, and this time it's the other way around. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just, it's kind of funny to see that they just, like, really live for the drama.

[SPEAKER_01]: They don't necessarily live for Paris tormenting people. [SPEAKER_00]: They probably live for [SPEAKER_00]: So, speaking of like plot lines falling off, I guess not really because Professor Charleston, Professor? [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: Headmaster Charleston. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: How very Harry Potter. [SPEAKER_00]: Headmaster Charleston must have like been fine with it because here's we're eating lunch alone. [SPEAKER_00]: Just, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't have socialized. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: So, again, like something we never really hear about again, we hear about the puffs again.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we see the, um, [SPEAKER_01]: The booster club again, very briefly in season three, same with the puffs in season three. [SPEAKER_01]: It was really just francy, not the puffs in general. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I agree. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just a storyline that kind of like, they like dropped in our laps and then, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because it didn't go well to sleep for a long. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just sleep for a long, just let her eat lunch. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, that's true. [SPEAKER_01]: So then we go to the lower lies and lower lies sitting in bed. [SPEAKER_01]: Just absolutely panicked. [SPEAKER_01]: This is me.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know me. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would be hearing chewing if even if it wasn't there. [SPEAKER_01]: You know I would be hearing chewing just in the background. [SPEAKER_00]: You'd be voice memo. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah That's what they're doing. [SPEAKER_00]: There's that they're turn my search.

[SPEAKER_01]: You ain't But this is when we get another really very cute pajama's moment when Laura Kross and about with her. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like how I was thinking cute Which speeds my face like mother like daughter [SPEAKER_01]: Marie has really cute pajamas in that episode as well. [SPEAKER_01]: This is very similar.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's a pajama lady just like you. [SPEAKER_01]: Are these the same ones? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think so. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought they were the first ones. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think she had like cupcakes and cakes on her. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're right. [SPEAKER_01]: Something like mother like daughter.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because it first I was like, oh, the pajamas from like mother like daughter and then I was like, no, no. [SPEAKER_01]: No, these are different, but I love that these are very similar. [SPEAKER_01]: They're very reminiscent of hers in like motherlike daughter, which are also reminiscent of the ones that lower life wears in Christopher Returns.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love who she wants and they're also about to be very similar to the ones Jackson is wearing but different. [SPEAKER_01]: But through that style, the flannel, yeah, yeah, we're really trying to love that they're in the winter time here But it's cute and it's definitely a moment I would have where Laura likes Rory up to say like I hear them chewing and she's like no go back to bed And she's like fine.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll go back to bed and then Rory hears them chewing and then it cuts to the block of the suitcase I love it [SPEAKER_01]: But I have to say like a Sherpa jacket as they're walking to Sugees, that Sherpa jacket that Laura like keeps wearing, that would never cut it in Connecticut, because it's a gene jacket and oh, she's wearing the the gene Sherpa jacket in this one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and in the last one, it's a quarter ratio of a jacket and I'm like, baby, this is not cutting it for the winter time. [SPEAKER_00]: They dress in the winter. [SPEAKER_00]: We're like she's in winter. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's no. [SPEAKER_00]: They do like one loop around the scar- Yeah, scar from the night.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're walking, you need to see from your house. [SPEAKER_00]: She needs a putty stick five minutes. [SPEAKER_00]: No, she needs a partner. [SPEAKER_00]: She gets it more right towards the end. [SPEAKER_00]: She gets more and more and more and more mirrors. [SPEAKER_00]: We get that's true.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Cool, so close to the end. [SPEAKER_01]: No, because at the pep rally, she's also wearing the Sherpa Jacket. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, oh, you're right. [SPEAKER_01]: Why did they keep putting her in the Sherpa Jacket? [SPEAKER_00]: It was way too cold for long coat at the bank.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, she's like loves you right. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but okay. [SPEAKER_00]: They got a rocker's like a snow. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but we're sure big puffy coat Yeah, there's snow on the ground. [SPEAKER_01]: I know but anyway, they end up at Sukey's and it sounds like so much fun I would love Sukey listing all of the things.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to know somewhere pretty at Sukey It's also midnight though, so like that's a lot of activities. [SPEAKER_01]: I know I love that Laura lies like [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, it's Midnight and she's like, okay, straight to the milkshakes. [SPEAKER_01]: I just love it! [SPEAKER_00]: I got so distracted doing this scene.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had to go back and watch her second time because I was so focused on watching the suit you suit the ice cream now. [SPEAKER_00]: She was like making such perfect circles. [SPEAKER_01]: She was like, wow, so I told she had to do this take so many times. [SPEAKER_01]: She was like, well, I just want to make it fun for myself.

[SPEAKER_01]: So let's make perfect circles. [SPEAKER_00]: I like completely realized. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I don't know any of the dialogue that just happened. [SPEAKER_00]: I just can count each three of those scoops. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just didn't mean to me. [SPEAKER_01]: It feels so cozy because it's that feeling of like something bad is happening.

[SPEAKER_01]: But even though something bad is happening, we get to go to somebody's house. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's different. [SPEAKER_00]: We get to see each other. [SPEAKER_01]: And so he's going to make me milkshakes. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like that just sounds so, so good. [SPEAKER_00]: One of the jokes here that I didn't really understand as a child that is like very funny now, to me, is a coyote ugly lemonade stand.

[UNKNOWN]: Love my God. [SPEAKER_00]: Dancing on the lemonade state like just like it went into that really got me like telling you not work, you know, yeah, because I understood coyote ugly as a kid. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, movie for whatever reason I was watching. [SPEAKER_00]: And I understood what the lemonade stand was and I was like, but those weren't connecting like the joke wasn't making us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was like, oh, that's hilarious. [SPEAKER_01]: My friend also developed a [SPEAKER_01]: Is it is a certain extent ever? [SPEAKER_01]: Go more to say lemonade stand. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Here you go. [SPEAKER_01]: Perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: This show also loves Fiddler on the roof.

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have the Fiddler on the roof? [SPEAKER_01]: Referee? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so good. [SPEAKER_01]: Amy loves Fiddler on the roof. [SPEAKER_01]: She really does. [SPEAKER_01]: So when I when I heard that I was like up. [SPEAKER_01]: Not necessarily a foreshadowing moment, and we learned that Laurel I play Teviya and Fidler on the roof, which just cracks me up.

[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to see that. [SPEAKER_00]: That's surprising. [SPEAKER_00]: This starts home because I gave her five and a half stars. [SPEAKER_00]: Kirk as Teviya. [SPEAKER_00]: or Laura Lye is to have you. [SPEAKER_00]: Or Lye. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to see her in the Laura Lye production of it, but Laura Lye is to have you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love it. [SPEAKER_01]: I love it so much. [SPEAKER_01]: So then they hear this big thud in the pantry. [SPEAKER_01]: And my main question is why didn't Jackson just stay in his bedroom with his senior Sukey's bedroom? [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I know we do where we're in the kitchen. [SPEAKER_01]: No, because Laura, I did have to call a lot, you know, she said she had to call a lot, which I mean we don't know if it was an embellishment, but He should have just seen his room.

[SPEAKER_01]: No one's going into Sukey's bedroom. [SPEAKER_01]: He should have just seen his room, but we do for the plot We did it's what they do here, but yeah, that doesn't it just doesn't make it I was like, oh, so why not just feel like Jackson's here. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah [SPEAKER_00]: and then like Jackson come out and have a milkshake.

[SPEAKER_00]: I won't. [SPEAKER_00]: I refuse to. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And then we see as pajamas. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It makes up for for sense. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to be a lot more exciting. [SPEAKER_01]: But speaking of the pajamas Valerie actually has a great story on her take talk about making it as pajamas because it was the year 2002 and it wasn't very easy to necessarily get picture pajamas.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, [SPEAKER_01]: on the fly because I think this was a decision that they made very, I don't very less than it. [SPEAKER_01]: They made last minute, right? [SPEAKER_01]: They needed more. [SPEAKER_00]: They committed it like she hears. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So I think that they had to do a lot of printouts of this picture of him and they had to like put like printed out on like fabric applique and I think iron it on, she said, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Go check it out on her page. [SPEAKER_01]: She has a [SPEAKER_01]: description about it. [SPEAKER_00]: I forget what the man's name is but he like does work like this and they like they like woke him up and had him do this or something. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was like it was a whole thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I had to like really go to great lengths to get these pajamas made. [SPEAKER_01]: We're just so funny. [SPEAKER_01]: I love tiny little scene for this one little joke. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Got to do anything. [SPEAKER_01]: But still still sounds really fun. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So then the next scene we go to Kim's antiques. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is another scene that like would just play on a loop. [SPEAKER_01]: I guess in my like when I would try to watch this episode that I would like try to skip back on the DVD and it would always come to this scene. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're like, hello skipping to [SPEAKER_01]: I have no idea, but it's just like, it's like the same thing as when I was talking about runaway little boy and like, you know, the opening scene.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's so funny that this was the scene that would always come up. [SPEAKER_01]: Hello? [SPEAKER_01]: Like I can be the voice saying in my mind, it's like burned in my brain from when I was a kid brings me right back, crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: But even though this scene is very small, I know that it's there to kind of solidify that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Rory and Lane cannot get in touch with each other, but I completely agree with Mrs. Kim here. [SPEAKER_01]: If somebody had a termite infection and came into my antique store with all of my wooden furniture, I would be like, can you please go away? [SPEAKER_01]: Is that how termites were?

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like how termites were, but I loved it. [SPEAKER_01]: She was like, you are a carrier. [SPEAKER_00]: I love that she says Taylor says you have termites. [SPEAKER_00]: I love that it's like town gossip that she got from Taylor of all people probably at the market. [SPEAKER_00]: Did you hear the Gilmore's have termites?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and she's a bug-eyed. [SPEAKER_00]: I love her with the hose. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god. [SPEAKER_00]: Get her with the hose. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: She's just like ready for battle. [SPEAKER_01]: It's great. [SPEAKER_01]: It's great. [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like it's going to freeze her sidewalk, though.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know when she did that, I was like, why are you doing this? [SPEAKER_01]: But that's okay. [SPEAKER_01]: I'd lower lies more in a shirt, but Jack, I don't know how cold it is. [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so then we go back to lower lies. [SPEAKER_01]: She's got the eyebook out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Is this like, this is like one of the only times we really see the eyebook. [SPEAKER_01]: I know that Rory has it on her desk. [SPEAKER_01]: I think when she meets Jess, which she's there in her room for the first meeting. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh wait, once I get from the previous scene, does Mrs. Kim know that Lane's a cheerleader because she said she's studying at school.

[SPEAKER_01]: Very good question. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know because I don't know how Lane would have hidden that from her mom. [SPEAKER_00]: She's um, and the outfits. [SPEAKER_01]: The mom, she's like doing the actual. [SPEAKER_00]: She's doing the actual, like, to tell me then something tells me Mrs. Kim would be okay with laying being a dreamy you think so I don't know why.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't either. [SPEAKER_01]: I think we talked about this on our plot holds episode that we're like not sure if Mrs. Kim knew and if she didn't achieve approved. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know I see that's the thing is I would have rather seen more on that if we were to make this a plot point like [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I just felt very empty.

[SPEAKER_01]: It felt like I'm finding it for Mori. [SPEAKER_01]: But why? [SPEAKER_01]: But your mom, just your mom, no. [SPEAKER_01]: There are so many fattagens. [SPEAKER_00]: This episode again, I've had a little bit more depth to it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a little surface level. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I agree.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do wish we got more of Mrs. Kim's thoughts. [SPEAKER_00]: But she said she's at school studying. [SPEAKER_00]: So I said she didn't know. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: She has study hall for like cheerleading. [SPEAKER_00]: Excuse me, stuff to do that. [SPEAKER_01]: So maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: Interesting.

[SPEAKER_01]: So then we go to Laura Lies. [SPEAKER_01]: So let me see the eye book. [SPEAKER_01]: And I love this phone call with Madeline. [SPEAKER_01]: I love them, I love this course by Paris into doing this. [SPEAKER_01]: And I wonder, because I don't remember, I wonder if now in the white shot on Netflix, we can see Paris's arm, but if in the DVD, on the back side, if we couldn't see it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because it always like is a dead giveaway to me. [SPEAKER_01]: But I love that, I love that Paris convinced her to do this. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I really should be watching this on the DVD set. [SPEAKER_00]: I would if I had a DVD player, but I thought maybe also do in that. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll watch on the DVD set and you I can let you know what's there and what's not there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Love you can tell me. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, great. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a good idea. [SPEAKER_00]: No, that's not answer your questions for you. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a smart cool. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's just it's such a hilarious conversation. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that worry is like put Paris on the phone.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's not perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if she ever told her. [SPEAKER_01]: Or I wonder if Harris found a way to find out her score. [SPEAKER_00]: I wish I would have come back later, like seasons later, just like maybe even when she was talking to her in season six about, [SPEAKER_00]: like making her move out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, but I wish that this had been like wrapped up. [SPEAKER_01]: Because this is the, this is the last we hear of this in this episode. [SPEAKER_01]: We never hear about this again. [SPEAKER_01]: So it was such a small, [SPEAKER_01]: plot point. [SPEAKER_01]: It was I wish that they had either like seen this plot point through or seen lanes through better.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like Rory had two different things going on and then was also dealing with the lone thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Like it just kind of didn't make any sense to me that she was given all this stuff for Rory. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but kind of for no reason. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought this was hilarious that like Paris keeps trying to figure out her scores and Rory is not giving them to her.

[SPEAKER_01]: I would have watched you have seen Paris just kind of like pop in and now really wanting to know her scores. [SPEAKER_01]: Instead of getting kind of two moments of this and then nothing. [SPEAKER_01]: You know? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: I agree.

[SPEAKER_01]: So then she ends up the phone and, you know, Laura likes his Paris again. [SPEAKER_01]: So I guess she's been doing this all week. [SPEAKER_01]: We're made to it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But that Laura likes that. [SPEAKER_01]: I think we've prepared some of my mother in a room together.

[SPEAKER_01]: The world would implode. [SPEAKER_01]: We just saw Paris and her mother in a room together. [SPEAKER_01]: And the world is still intact. [SPEAKER_00]: when were they in a room together? [SPEAKER_00]: Brace for dinner. [SPEAKER_00]: Brace for dinner. [SPEAKER_00]: Elewell. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, maybe just the just the two of them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the other people were too much of a buffer. [SPEAKER_00]: That's right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's very true. [SPEAKER_00]: I actually think that the world a lot of good things would happen. [SPEAKER_00]: It could really come together. [SPEAKER_00]: They really take over the world, honestly.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is where we get another one of my favorite lines when we're is asking her about the loans and Laura lies telling her, like, [SPEAKER_01]: When you have Jaco's lens and stuff rejecting you, then you know that like something is wrong and she says I'll try not to think about it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll think about it tomorrow at Tara. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that is how that is a god with the wind reference and that is what I was named after and that is my name [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know when that happens and it makes me happy, I know, it's a name drop, a little name drop for your, for your Friday, but the one line that I really didn't like that, I don't think we can really skip over is when she says, you know, I think if I sold you into white slavery, I would miss you, I was like, ooh, that did not age well, can we, can we not talk about probably wasn't good then as well, no, yeah, yeah, that's like yikes, that's a big yikes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's just so many things in this that I like. [SPEAKER_00]: Really? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Like that one made it in? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, on the double knee. [SPEAKER_00]: And you know? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And I just, and I think that there's so many times that I'm like, wow, I really was not in tune enough in 2002 to really see it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it. [SPEAKER_00]: But I just used like 10. [SPEAKER_00]: But I was like, wow, like watching that back, I'm like that one so many people have to watch this and read the script and see it. [SPEAKER_00]: And like, be like, oh, no one thought that's inappropriate. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

[SPEAKER_01]: very, like, it's very forward thinking on her end. [SPEAKER_01]: She's the suki in the scenario in the way that suki and Laura, I had this conversation in the pilot. [SPEAKER_01]: of like, you know, you could call so and so, no. [SPEAKER_01]: And it always ends up happening, you know? [SPEAKER_00]: I went through a really interesting journey with me in Marie in this episode and like, how she felt about this because I was like, she's right.

[SPEAKER_00]: They really do need to get their house fixed. [SPEAKER_00]: She's completely right. [SPEAKER_00]: They can hear the termites chewing. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: It needs 15,000 dollars. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a huge amount of money, but it's your house. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, you got to live there.

[SPEAKER_00]: And like nothing else is coming up. [SPEAKER_00]: All the loans are getting rejected. [SPEAKER_00]: Your parents have millions of dollars. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, you need to ask your parents. [SPEAKER_00]: The fears that you're going to have for another obligation to them, it's like, I get it.

[SPEAKER_01]: But you already have an obligation to them. [SPEAKER_01]: The states were higher in... [SPEAKER_01]: the pilot because you hadn't talked to them, but the stakes are just as high now because it's not about where you're going to school. [SPEAKER_01]: Where you can go to another school. [SPEAKER_01]: If you can hire the stakes are higher and they're higher in a different way.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like the family stakes were higher in the pilot because she hadn't spoken or stakes for the deaths. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, the personal stakes. [SPEAKER_01]: But the actual stakes of like, what is that stake? [SPEAKER_01]: Is much higher? [SPEAKER_01]: Your house is literally fall apart.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you're saying no to everything like I just think she's being way too stubborn about this and I get it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's very built into her character. [SPEAKER_01]: Like this is not out of character for Lorelie. [SPEAKER_01]: No, but she's just being a little too petulant and what happens in these next two scenes like made me really, really mad.

[SPEAKER_01]: I understand why Lorelie got upset. [SPEAKER_01]: with Rory for sharing something with Emily that she specifically asked her not to, she said, like, it's not like Rory and Laura didn't have this conversation before they left the house and Rory just blurted it out. [SPEAKER_01]: And she was like, hey, I wish you wouldn't have done that.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's that Laura, I said, don't do this. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to talk about this with my mom. [SPEAKER_01]: We're not doing it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's on option. [SPEAKER_01]: And Rory went ahead and did anyway. [SPEAKER_01]: I agree with Rory. [SPEAKER_01]: I think she should have. [SPEAKER_01]: I think she was saying, no, it's our house.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I understand why Laura Lai was upset with her. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's like I see both sides of the coin, but I think Lori did the right thing. [SPEAKER_00]: I see that's where I am with Lori right now. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel differently in a little bit, but right now I'm like, worry is right to question Laura lie, and then in the next scene.

[SPEAKER_00]: You feel like as it goes on, I'll bring it down as we get through the episode. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: So we get to Friday night dinner. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just the girlies, Richard is at work. [SPEAKER_01]: He's wrapping up things because he's quote unquote retiring or leaving whatever it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's resigned. [SPEAKER_01]: He's resigned. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think he says because Taylor says are you [SPEAKER_01]: He's left. [SPEAKER_01]: And then he recounts it and you're right. [SPEAKER_01]: He says that he He resigned and suddenly I heard myself resign So who's to say but either way he's leaving the job and he's just tying up loose ends before he does So it's just the three of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love that Laurel I without hesitation pulls out like aspirin and and takes it while she's drinking alcohol He's like, okay, well, yeah, you know hesitation whatsoever. [SPEAKER_00]: Hit it fast. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that is when worry [SPEAKER_01]: you know, response to Emily's inquiry about like, why do you have a headache with the truth?

[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, we have a case of this. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that extra-mindedness. [SPEAKER_01]: So she says extra-mindedness, but I love that when Bray goes, they're eating our whole house. [SPEAKER_01]: Laura Legos, but they always say thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: That's that. [SPEAKER_01]: How did I miss that?

[SPEAKER_01]: But they always say thank you because here's the thing is, and I don't know if this is why, with Rory, you're a little bit like, okay, and still team Rory right now, you are on this because when Rory brings it up, I wonder if Laura like would have been as mad at Rory if Rory didn't tell.

[SPEAKER_01]: Emily, she's having trouble finding a loan. [SPEAKER_01]: If she just said, we have termites. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like ruining the foundation of our house so we're just stressed and left it at that. [SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if Laura like would have been as upset with her because Rory wasn't presenting the fact that they don't have a loan.

[SPEAKER_01]: She would have just been presenting the information of like, yeah, we have, we might just be figuring it out. [SPEAKER_01]: We're figuring it out. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: on Murray side here is like, yeah, stop lying to her. [SPEAKER_00]: You're being so clearly avoidant just to tell you what's going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then Murray went super in depth and immediately Emily is like, got her pen writing a check. [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is how you, you I should be handling it because you can handle it like this like it's not like you're taking from family members who like are going to be left with nothing after this.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, yeah, you know, this is their like weekend fun sort of situation. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's what we're just going to write you a link check. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she doesn't even ask you how much it's for. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's tell me.

[SPEAKER_01]: So tell me where you where it took a turn for you. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not until much later. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it takes the turn. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So, Laura Lies clearly upset. [SPEAKER_01]: They don't have a conversation in the car who shocked. [SPEAKER_01]: They get back to the Laura Lies house.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's two hours that she says she has to look at me. [SPEAKER_01]: This is two hours. [SPEAKER_00]: This is when I'm irritated really at Laura Lies. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: This isn't not how you deal with this with you. [SPEAKER_01]: No, if you wanted to deal with it like that, for the rest of dinner, because you were pissed fine.

[SPEAKER_01]: But you talked to her in the car, you talked to her when you get home. [SPEAKER_01]: She's trying to have a conversation with you. [SPEAKER_01]: And [SPEAKER_01]: And they do end up having an argument. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Laurel, I is like, I explicitly told you not to do this. [SPEAKER_01]: I told you this was not an option and you did it anyway.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm mad at you for it. [SPEAKER_01]: Great. [SPEAKER_01]: Just talk about it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's all right. [SPEAKER_00]: It's 2016 year olds and one of them has a mom card. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's exactly what's going on. [SPEAKER_00]: That is exactly it. [SPEAKER_00]: More like best friends when they should be mother and daughter right here.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And they, and like, that's the card that Laurel like pulls. [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, no, I told you not to do this and you did it. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm mad. [SPEAKER_01]: And that, whether she's a mom or she's not like that, [SPEAKER_01]: boundaries need to be set like if I tell you not to do something and then you do it of course I'm gonna be upset with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're not my mom, but like yeah, or you're not my daughter But I'm still gonna be upset with you. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: Like it's yeah, yeah, I got your daughter. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah I'm sorry how to find out like this. [SPEAKER_01]: I adopt it. [SPEAKER_01]: So confused.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do love in this when she said I'm using the computer and I hate using the computer. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, like how 2002 of you. [SPEAKER_00]: I know it's so true [SPEAKER_01]: So they ended it in anger the next day where he goes to star's hollow high. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god The scene so dumb The scene is so dumb Basketball at her and then was like annoyed I know that was like why didn't you catch it and then his basketball gets run over and she like Should have caught it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: It's so dumb. [SPEAKER_00]: It kills me and she says what if I had turned around and you said you might have caught it [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, yeah, with her face, with her face, my dick on it. [SPEAKER_00]: No, and he's talking, he's like, you sound insane. [SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, no, she doesn't.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he did, like, the, the, the, the line that really got me was when he, when she goes, I mean, we've had fights before, and he goes, you and me. [SPEAKER_01]: No, you fucking idiot, hurt in her mouth. [SPEAKER_01]: What? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, you are dumb. [SPEAKER_01]: You're literally dumb.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just, yeah, this whole scene felt super dumb. [SPEAKER_01]: I wish, does it look like he has highlights, though? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I mean, no, it is. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's the exposure. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know that. [SPEAKER_01]: Cool exposure, maybe, but I wish that Ray would have.

[SPEAKER_01]: I guess we... [SPEAKER_01]: I guess we needed the reality that Roy went to the Kims and Lane wasn't there and Mrs. Kim kind of kicks her out, but maybe we needed to see that scene here instead of [SPEAKER_01]: I know that she needed to find out that she was a cheerleader, but maybe we could have had that scene here where Rory wants to talk to Lane about this.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is the person she wants to combine it and not that she shouldn't be inviting and being But it kind of didn't make any sense. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's what's so weird that she's she has conflict with Laura and with Lane, but it's not anything that's like Because it reminds me of PSI love [SPEAKER_00]: P.S.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love when she's having conflict with the Oralite and Lain and it drives her to a grandparents, but like having conflict with Oralite and Lain doesn't really drive her anywhere. [SPEAKER_01]: She's kind of like Yeah, she doesn't know yet that she is conflict with Lain. [SPEAKER_01]: She just can't you know touch with her and this is when she finds out why she can't get in touch with her and I know that that's why they needed to do this, but it just kind of was like [SPEAKER_01]: I would have loved to see Royce Graffield in Lane and this is, of course, when she finds out.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: It just, it all of this just felt very unnecessary to me. [SPEAKER_01]: And [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and and it leads us to the scene after the next one, but it's just like it just kind of feels like we threw Dean in for no reason. [SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't really helpful.

[SPEAKER_00]: He kind of was like, yeah, you guys are both stubborn and it's like, okay, okay, okay, what he's like, let's get coffee and then her and Lane make eye contact and they don't say anything to each other. [SPEAKER_01]: So weird and I guess this like for me watching it now back and binging it where I can watch like Bracebridge dinner to this episode really [SPEAKER_01]: Quickly, it makes no sense to me because we just saw Lane at the Bracebridge dinner.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like yeah, in my mind I'm sitting here thinking we don't know how much time has passed and you're saying it's been tough to get a hold of her. [SPEAKER_01]: In reality these like this was this season. [SPEAKER_01]: This was like the mid-season premiere. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's not past like get it, but it's just kind of like I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: It just contextually feels very. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, back to back in doesn't make a lot of sense, but like I guess like live it. [SPEAKER_01]: It might have. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, time. [SPEAKER_01]: Time flies. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but before we get to this confrontation between the two of them leader, Laura Lye is at the end of Henderson talking to Dave's dad on the phone.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, everyone always says that. [SPEAKER_00]: But he went to France and Sturagowski. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, yeah, yeah, when will he be back from France? [SPEAKER_00]: I love it. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it's probably that they like used Helen Pies husband's last name.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's our little to the dialogue. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're like, oh, let's just use this to the hall the time. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, before they knew that the character of David Gowski was going to even exist. [SPEAKER_00]: So I know not wait to get there. [SPEAKER_00]: I know I know I don't be like I think like March just when we're gonna hit season three and I just like oh so exciting.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's stay here. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's stay here So she's talking to Dave's out on the phone cannot get anywhere with him. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that she calls herself the Energizer Bunny and then Emily calls. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that Michelle is so excited. [SPEAKER_01]: He's like oh [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I've just loves and adores her and gives her the phone. [SPEAKER_01]: And I just say makes me sad. [SPEAKER_01]: Like Emily is just trying to help. [SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, Laura lies very much just like, no, I will not, I refuse. [SPEAKER_01]: She's just being so pachelent here. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I get it, I do, but I don't. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It's that thing of like, do you think that, no, no, no, we'll get there, we'll get there later. [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm. [SPEAKER_00]: Because I'm with you, and I didn't start this thought process that I was about to say until later.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But here, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that her refusal isn't mature because- I think her refusal is a little more mature. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: You're exactly exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Because that is the premise of the show.

[SPEAKER_01]: She doesn't want to be indebted to her parents. [SPEAKER_01]: But you're all going to be indebted to your parents. [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, no, it's Emily's trying really hard because now she's not offering her the money. [SPEAKER_01]: She's just saying, I found a guy who will sit down and talk to you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: Miles. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it just feels very pachelent to me and she's being pachelent with worry anyway. [SPEAKER_01]: So speaking of worry, she's with Dean. [SPEAKER_01]: They get coffee. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we count this as a cup of coffee, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know this, but then she gives him a kiss and she says, that's for me not thinking fast. [SPEAKER_00]: Ugh. [SPEAKER_00]: I hate it. [SPEAKER_01]: No, that, I don't mean no sense. [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely not. [SPEAKER_00]: She threw a basketball at you and now you give him a kiss.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Because you're sorry that you catch his basketball that got run over. [SPEAKER_01]: Uh-uh. [SPEAKER_00]: No, thanks. [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely not. [SPEAKER_00]: Neither just nor Logan would do that. [SPEAKER_00]: Marty looked at that. [SPEAKER_00]: Paul would do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Tristan. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, no, I didn't like that much. [SPEAKER_01]: And then like it kind of looks like Lane might be looking for Lori when she comes into the center of town. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And they make eye contact and then there's these weird strum strums as they walk together.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: We need to talk. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just the storyline I can't get on board with it. [SPEAKER_00]: To be fair, Lane. [SPEAKER_00]: So cute. [SPEAKER_00]: She does have a very traditional cheerleader outfit. [SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And white. [SPEAKER_00]: I love. [SPEAKER_00]: With like the varsity jacket. [SPEAKER_00]: The pom-poms. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: The shoes. [SPEAKER_00]: Like the whole look. [SPEAKER_01]: She does look really cute. [SPEAKER_01]: But it just makes no sense.

[SPEAKER_01]: It makes absolutely no sense. [SPEAKER_00]: But to be fair, when she says, I didn't tell you because I need act like this, she's, she's right. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, for sure. [SPEAKER_00]: Keeping this for Mori and Mori, I was like, I don't want you to keep this from me. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's my fault.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because she's like, you're never around. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, for Mori to be like, oh, it's my fault. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh, you are never around. [SPEAKER_01]: She can do other things, Mori. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, for sure, for sure. [SPEAKER_01]: But I just feel like two things.

[SPEAKER_01]: One again, I just like can't get on board with this storyline. [SPEAKER_01]: So everything about it makes me like, [SPEAKER_01]: just not into it, but also we've gotten this before. [SPEAKER_01]: Lane has said you're never around. [SPEAKER_01]: It's always this and it's always that and it's less that this time because it's one but it's like another repeat of Lane being like, well you're not around anymore so I'm doing this.

[SPEAKER_01]: like blaming Rory for things that she's doing. [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously in the case of love and warrants know it was like I ran my finger through guys hair because I felt like I couldn't talk to anybody about it. [SPEAKER_00]: That one feels more like blaming. [SPEAKER_00]: This one feels more like, why are you mad that I'm why are you mad that I'm doing something else?

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, like, you should be mad about this story. [SPEAKER_01]: But I did kind of get the vibe of like, well, you're not around anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: So like, I'm a cheerleader now. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, that makes no sense. [SPEAKER_01]: That seems so out of character for Lain. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: It also feels like she... [SPEAKER_00]: Alternatingly feels like good to be a cheerleader, but like maybe also like bad to be a cheerleader Like yeah, this is a result of you neglecting me, but also like she's like enjoying it. [SPEAKER_00]: So it like I don't know I'm really team Lane here because like it seems like she found something that she liked and she didn't tell worry about it Because A worries on around but B worries can be really detrimental about it and she proves to be so it's like [SPEAKER_01]: No, for sure.

[SPEAKER_01]: I do agree with those things. [SPEAKER_01]: I think because we never see this play out, I just have no interest in this storyline and I am just kind of like, why did we need this? [SPEAKER_01]: We didn't need this. [SPEAKER_01]: It seems like Lane just decided to randomly become a cheerleader one day and then she never does it again.

[SPEAKER_01]: Or we know we're about it again. [SPEAKER_00]: I would have liked to have at least seen it one other time. [SPEAKER_00]: Do we? [SPEAKER_00]: Do we never see her be a cheerleader ever again? [SPEAKER_00]: No, we never see her be a cheerleader. [SPEAKER_00]: We never see her be a cheerleader.

[SPEAKER_01]: She does, but it's just kind of like that would have been a really fun storyline to see through and have her be like, yeah, I can't believe I tried doing that. [SPEAKER_01]: I gave it a shot. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it would be for me. [SPEAKER_01]: Instead, I'm gonna become a drummer. [SPEAKER_00]: What?

[SPEAKER_00]: And the alternate chain change. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the change of the pendulum swinging exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's why I just kind of get like, I'm so like, I reject the storyline on so many levels. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, I don't care about this. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a forced conflict.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everything's a forced conflict. [SPEAKER_00]: It's written. [SPEAKER_00]: But like, I do like when she says, I don't feel like I should have to justify this to you. [SPEAKER_00]: And then where are you? [SPEAKER_00]: It's mad. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Why is she shut in? [SPEAKER_01]: She shut in.

[SPEAKER_00]: She shut in. [SPEAKER_01]: No, but I do think that Roy also, too, certain extent, was like, I haven't seen you. [SPEAKER_01]: I've been heard from you. [SPEAKER_01]: You've just like, avoided me completely. [SPEAKER_01]: And I got why she did. [SPEAKER_00]: I get why she's doing the children are uniform everywhere.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it's like, yeah, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: I think because I just think this conflict is, yeah, it's like, I can even run my head around it. [SPEAKER_01]: So. [SPEAKER_01]: We cut to Laura's. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Luke is there. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm surprised that she didn't call Luke to begin with.

[SPEAKER_01]: Laura's wearing her glasses. [SPEAKER_00]: She is, which Valerie recently said on her TikTok is because when Lauren Graham would wake up and her eyes would hurt and she couldn't put her contacts in. [SPEAKER_00]: She just fur glasses as Laura's eye. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, she, that was a very much a Lauren Graham thing and not necessarily a more like thing, but I love that they incorporated it into her character.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, she did call Kirk before she called Luke. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, she called Star's Hollow extermination and they said, okay, but I agree with you. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I was like, why did you call Kirk before you called Luke? [SPEAKER_01]: I kind of would have loved Luke and Kirk there at the same time, bantering.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would have love for Kirk to be like it's terrible and looks like it's not that bad and he's like No, it's actually horrible and you're gonna need to pay 15,000 dollars for it and Luke kind of being like, okay We'll figure this out like the the banter back and forth between the two of them would have been hilarious Yeah, kind of like Kirk being like I know what I'm doing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I work for the stars hollow extermination committee or whatever What does Luke know about termites? [SPEAKER_01]: I think Luke is just one of those guys. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like a handyman. [SPEAKER_01]: Like he knows about the formation. [SPEAKER_00]: I always, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that he's just the kind of person who like [SPEAKER_01]: gets it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have a dad like that. [SPEAKER_01]: So I get it. [SPEAKER_01]: He's just like knows a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: He kind of had it's like a person who really had to pull themselves up by the straps and so they just kind of know they're like a jack of all trades. [SPEAKER_01]: They know a lot.

[SPEAKER_01]: They know a little about a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Jack of all trades master of none. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's that's Luke. [SPEAKER_01]: That's for sure. [SPEAKER_01]: Kirk drives to keep it. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't quite land. [SPEAKER_01]: This is also when we get coffee cup number four.

[SPEAKER_01]: because Laura lives holding a little to go cup, which could be soup, but I'll count it as a coffee cup. [SPEAKER_01]: It's coffee. [SPEAKER_01]: It's coffee. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, also, Luke says, I know a good contractor. [SPEAKER_01]: I was just about to say. [SPEAKER_00]: I also know a good contractor.

[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder. [SPEAKER_01]: I wonder. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so here's where I start to lose Laura live and more. [SPEAKER_01]: Luke offers basically in a roundabout way. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, to loan her the money, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And she says she can't take him up on it, and I get it. [SPEAKER_01]: But what I don't understand is when we move into the next scene, when Laura likes us to the bank, I, I just, I don't like the way she reacts to Emily, we could talk about it when we get there, but it's like you had this other offer on the table.

[SPEAKER_01]: One that I get is hard with friends. [SPEAKER_01]: But I am shocked that she didn't take it from Luke, but took it from the bank through Emily, knowing that there might be strings attached. [SPEAKER_01]: Like if I had heard that in the bank, I would have been like, nope, I have actually another option and I will take him up on that, because she does end up taking him up on a loan later in season of the whole year.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, maybe if she had done that, she wouldn't have felt comfortable taking money from him for season four. [SPEAKER_01]: But for the dragonfly end, but yeah, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just like very sweet that he offers this, and I know that she doesn't want anybody to help but it's just like, lower life.

[SPEAKER_01]: No one is giving you a loan. [SPEAKER_01]: No one is giving you a loan. [SPEAKER_01]: So why are you not taking this? [SPEAKER_01]: From a friend who's saying, I will get the guys in here, and you can pay me back whenever. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, [SPEAKER_01]: I don't get it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I I understand like I don't even know if I could articulate why she was willing to get it from Emily, but not from Luke because it just feels like she couldn't like that's just one step it feels like at this point she like couldn't cross with Luke. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I get that. [SPEAKER_00]: It's weird because it's her house because like with the inner dream and like she wants us to have and but like with this this is her house and I think there's maybe part of her that like she would rather have strings with her parents than like force any semblance of that sort of obligation between her and her friend.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: I am surprised she didn't take it a little bit more seriously, but like, yeah, or like, I will, I'll consider it. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll consider it. [SPEAKER_00]: No, but I'll consider it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, again, I get, Laura Lys got a lot of pride, she does.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we see that really come out in this episode. [SPEAKER_00]: But like, but we don't really try to frame it very much. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, he put effort into how he was going to say this. [SPEAKER_00]: I know, I love, I love. [SPEAKER_00]: And, but it was alone. [SPEAKER_00]: And I just, I think there was something she couldn't do.

[SPEAKER_00]: She could do it. [SPEAKER_01]: I get it. [SPEAKER_01]: I think because of the next scene, I'm kind of like, Laura Lys should just take the money from Luke. [SPEAKER_01]: But, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: The end of the scene Roy comes home and you can tell that the two of them still have it really, you know, made up But she goes, oh, Dean called twice You just saw him You just saw him [SPEAKER_01]: You kissed him, he fell in on time and said, that's for not thinking fast.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, uh, Rory, um, watching petal butts, uh, just came you call. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, twice, uh, just want to see if you're home. [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, it's been five minutes and just got coffee. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't get it. [SPEAKER_01]: That, that to me was just like more coffee. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So weird. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's established that they haven't been up yet, but I just haven't been able to make a call. [SPEAKER_01]: Then more like it goes to the bank. [SPEAKER_01]: She's family, which I also, I think, would have been like, what are you doing here? [SPEAKER_01]: Why? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't need you here.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I am not necessarily on lower-life side here, but I get that, like, before we learn the circumstances around why Emily is there, because Emily knows she's gonna need a co-signer. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But I love that lower-life's like, what are you doing here? [SPEAKER_01]: I'm leaving.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't need my mommy here. [SPEAKER_01]: I love my blanket home. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm a big girl. [SPEAKER_01]: I can do this by myself. [SPEAKER_01]: And I get it, but Emily cannot disclose to her [SPEAKER_01]: because no one's gonna give her a loan. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what she knows.

[SPEAKER_00]: A co-chair. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, she probably got that information from miles. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, when they talked about this. [SPEAKER_01]: So, um, um, and secrets, secrets, and loans. [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I love that this, that the, like, send off between the two of them before they actually go into the office is, Laura, like, going, I swear to God, Alice, one day, pal, right to the moon.

[SPEAKER_01]: Emily goes, what on earth are you talking about? [SPEAKER_01]: Who's Alice? [SPEAKER_00]: Alice? [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't have to look that up because I didn't know who Alice was. [SPEAKER_01]: I looked it up a while ago when I had kind of like, yeah, watch through the episodes and wanted to know some of the pop culture references, but I love Emily's reaction to that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, or through you talking about, who's that? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: It's from the Honeymooners, but I didn't realize it was about a man going to punch a woman. [SPEAKER_00]: A woman. [SPEAKER_00]: Power right to the moon. [SPEAKER_00]: Yep, and it was funny. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh well, though right like in the when they're still inside when she says No, it's a hologram life like isn't it that was a beat. [SPEAKER_00]: That's my favorite Emily line from this episode I love her. [SPEAKER_01]: She's she's just so dry it gets me And they go in here with Miles they go in with Miles who I kept thinking was Mr. Rigaelsky.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh, do you've stad? [SPEAKER_00]: different. [SPEAKER_00]: No, but Emily has agreed to be a silent, a silent, a silent, a silent, a silent, silent. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love it. [SPEAKER_01]: I also love that like when they're outside and they're talking before they come in, Emily really justifies it.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, he already knows I'm here as receptionist, told him, I have to go in at least I high and and Laurelized sets the ground rule. [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, you will go in. [SPEAKER_01]: You will ask him how his wife is doing and then you [SPEAKER_01]: And they have the coffee and they're chatting and loralize like, okay, I really like to talk business.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then she's like, I just, my mom is dying on her wife is not a Cheryl. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, always Cheryl, of course, Cheryl, but I have never before watching this episode today. [SPEAKER_01]: Watched Emily's face while they're having this conversation. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I focused on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, me too. [SPEAKER_01]: Because I just was like, you knew. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, you did. [SPEAKER_00]: She should be such a nice person. [SPEAKER_01]: And coffee, sipping that coffee with the queen she is. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, this is gold. [SPEAKER_01]: This is gold. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think that at this point that Warlai after having exhausted all her options and is here and she's being so prideful that this is just too much?

[SPEAKER_00]: Just consider me like anyone off the street and he's like, sure, check, check, check? [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And then she's like pleading with him. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, girl, you knew. [SPEAKER_00]: You just asked to go into this. [SPEAKER_00]: Now you're to even fancy your bank than whatever Jack, Jack owns and stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: What if I stuff is? [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like she asks to be treated like everybody else and then it's surprised when she does not get preferential treatment. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you are asking to be treated like anyone. [SPEAKER_01]: But the reality is, on paper, you do not match what you need for a loan.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like you can be a great person, you can be a reliable person, but like the reality is, yeah, she and she is, but it's just like you just ask to be treated like any other person off the street. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is what you got. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she's not your way. [SPEAKER_00]: Wait, I wanted to be, I want to be off the street, I want you to, I want you to make me think that I'm being treated like I'm off the street.

[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: And I get that that is what she wants, but she's been treated like that this entire time and it's not working for her. [SPEAKER_01]: So, anyway. [SPEAKER_00]: And here she's at the fancy bank. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Come on. [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks. [SPEAKER_00]: And then he says, you could co-sign it and Emily's just like staring straight ahead.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love it. [SPEAKER_00]: So good. [SPEAKER_00]: And then she's like, mom, she's finished. [SPEAKER_00]: She does not speak until spoken to, which I love about it. [SPEAKER_00]: I love it, but I love when he asked her, she went some more coffee in her face I'd definitely choose like I would love some.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, so like Kelly plays this so well here and she plays it so perfectly. [SPEAKER_01]: And I feel for her in this last little section when they do exit the bank and more lies. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, okay, so what do you want now? [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, I just want to do something for myself.

[UNKNOWN]: I'm running back for Paul. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my God. [SPEAKER_01]: But I just, it breaks my heart because Emily was like, I just wanted to do something nice for you. [SPEAKER_01]: So, do you think she did? [SPEAKER_01]: I do think she did, I think it's hilarious that at the end of the episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, yeah, we're going to be doing this. [SPEAKER_01]: But I think that was to kind of dig it her a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: I think so too. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: We're together. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I do think she wanted to. [SPEAKER_01]: I think she's sitting there thinking, we have a relationship now, and yes, of course, that relationship is rooted in you being indebted to me, because we made a deal.

[SPEAKER_01]: However, we have a relationship again, and we've had that for almost, you know, the last year and a half. [SPEAKER_00]: So the Gilmour's really do show affection to Laura live by providing for her financially, but like, this is her house, so like, [SPEAKER_00]: It's not something frivolous, it's literally her home.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, so for her house. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I feel like I should specify any time I've said home. [SPEAKER_00]: I make a roof over my head and she does. [SPEAKER_00]: She does. [SPEAKER_01]: There's choreography. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it just makes me feel for her because I do I do nothing she had ulterior motives maybe like a little bit deep down She was like great now we kind of, you know, she's still gonna be in my life Like this is still another way to be evolved if it's an ulterior motive It's more of like we have a deeper connection that she can't quite get out of that like she's tied to me But I'm not putting any obligation to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's more just like [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: And tighter, totally, ties of money. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: So then we go to the pep rally. [SPEAKER_01]: Taylor is just like trying to like he's like a used car salesman here. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that so much.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's just like being typical Taylor. [SPEAKER_01]: Dry cleaners. [SPEAKER_01]: If it's sticky, try trickies. [SPEAKER_01]: I love what he introduces blue and he I know he's on his cardigan But he is like everybody's in red, which I think is really cool and when he introduces blue like the The the former like basketball coach and he's now gonna be the coach of the minimum [SPEAKER_01]: Um, is that what they're called the Miniman, the Star of the Miniman?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, um, I love his earmuffs, his red fuzz of earmuffs. [SPEAKER_01]: I want them. [SPEAKER_01]: I love earmuffs. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a team spirit. [SPEAKER_01]: We love them. [SPEAKER_01]: We really do. [SPEAKER_01]: And then Booty shows up next to Laura next to Rory, which absolutely destroyed me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: When I was on the team, it was different. [SPEAKER_01]: We were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we were, we are, we are, we are, we are, we are, we are, we are, we are, we are, we are, we are, we are, we are, [SPEAKER_01]: Three of us would have been pants by now.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm gonna get undressed and take off their outerwear in the snow. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that that one kid is next to like Mr. Dozi. [SPEAKER_01]: It's freezing out here. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: The good people have starved all paid for those uniforms. [SPEAKER_01]: Now you show them what they paid for.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, she's this Christaler. [SPEAKER_01]: Come on Taylor. [SPEAKER_01]: He is such a menace. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, we get two more cups of coffee because Lori has coffee for... [SPEAKER_01]: Does Laura bring over coffee too, Lori? [SPEAKER_01]: I think she might. [SPEAKER_01]: No, I bring it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: So we got coffee cups number five and six. [SPEAKER_01]: Then these weird white cups. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I understand this conversation that they have with each other where they're kind of trying to make a mess. [SPEAKER_01]: I understand where you know, where they're coming from.

[SPEAKER_01]: Where the world is coming from. [SPEAKER_01]: Really? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Why? [SPEAKER_00]: Tell me why. [SPEAKER_00]: Because I genuinely think that Laura Lai never would have let it get to the point where she didn't have any other option. [SPEAKER_00]: I truly think her parents was her last resort.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that had Rory not said anything about it to her grandparents because she specifically asked her. [SPEAKER_00]: as her mother like I know that it's like this mother weird mother daughter relationship that it took me the whole episode to get here was that like Lauraly specifically said don't tell my parents about this because I think that part of her new that that was the only option that that was the last place that she needs to be and presenting it like this to Emily.

[SPEAKER_00]: was not the way to go about this worry. [SPEAKER_00]: Like this is not how Laura Lai who has so much pride. [SPEAKER_00]: You know this about your mom. [SPEAKER_00]: Like this is not how you needed to tell her about it. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I tell her mom about this. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because I think that she would have gotten there because she did refuse the Luke loan because she did like accept the appointment that her mom got her at the bank.

[SPEAKER_00]: And probably knowing in the back of her mind that like this one was going to end up just the same as all the other ones. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that ultimately she would have like gone to Emily and Richard and it would have been a lot more like the Chilton conversation where she's like, I don't have any other options.

[SPEAKER_00]: That like maybe it probably would have been a lot more familiar because she does have a relationship with them But I really do think that like she was responsible enough. [SPEAKER_00]: It's her house like she knows And I think that in this moment when she's telling worry that like I was going like I like reserved the right to like figure this out [SPEAKER_00]: And I do think that that's true because I think that part of the problem is that worry does end up like taking on a lot of responsibility as a teenager when she should be able to be the child so it's like her instinct to do something like that right but I think at that end of the day for like worry to look at Loreline be like you're being too stubborn you're going to like let our house fall into disrepair like no she wouldn't like yeah she just needed to do about this like her own way and even if it like

[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that Roy is old enough by now that it's just like, yeah, I'm 17 years old and I know that I'm technically still your child and I can't contribute financially in any way or make financial decisions, but yeah, this is also my house to you know, and I think just like Laura like has to kind of recognize that like, [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm sorry.

[SPEAKER_01]: Of course trusts her. [SPEAKER_01]: Like have you ever been without food or like a rude woman or anything like that? [SPEAKER_01]: That's what I mean. [SPEAKER_01]: But like I also am seeing the writing on the wall and I'm seeing you like your pride get in the way of getting alone and I can't just stand by while you do that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't think she would have ever let it get that way. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think she would have either, but the fact that she was being so reluctant to anything, she wouldn't accept it from Luke, she wouldn't accept it from her parents. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, we're seeing the writing on the wall, and she's like, okay, but like, how long are we going to let this go on before you realize that like, what needs to happen?

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you need to put another hole in our porch because what needs to happen, does the house need to fall down for you to go, oh, we need to fix this problem. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's that problem of like they are a partnership until they're not a partnership until Laura likes to handle things on her own.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly, she should be able to, that's not the dynamic that is here. [SPEAKER_00]: But I was like, yeah, Lori should have, she should have known that she's not going to, it's their house. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's where I like finally got to. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, yeah, but that's not really their dynamic.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I hear that. [SPEAKER_00]: Laura like had it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, I totally hear that. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, so they've resolved their conflict. [SPEAKER_01]: Laura like to clears the fight over and then um, she's like, is that Lane? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And Lane is like dead center.

[SPEAKER_01]: Lane is just in the thick of it all. [SPEAKER_01]: They loved her. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, she must be good. [SPEAKER_01]: It was, yeah, it was fun. [SPEAKER_01]: It was fun. [SPEAKER_00]: It was fun. [SPEAKER_00]: It was fun. [SPEAKER_00]: It was fun. [SPEAKER_00]: It was fun.

[SPEAKER_01]: We really do. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and the basketball players look miserable behind her, but. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, Lorela is excited to see it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I think that that we talked about this in the lane, Lorelai, Rory, Friendship Circle, the episode that like, Lorelai kind of informs.

[SPEAKER_01]: Roy. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it worries acceptance of lane being a cheerleader because it looks fun. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm not doing it professionally, which is also struck me as odd. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, what do you want to do it professionally? [SPEAKER_01]: Be supportive. [SPEAKER_00]: Just be supportive.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Also before this, I love that the troubadour covers be true to your school. [SPEAKER_01]: I think of that all the time when I think of that song. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so cute. [SPEAKER_00]: It also is so long. [SPEAKER_00]: Like the montage of Lena, so long, the singing of the tributaries so long.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I've fluffed up this episode when they could have added to the song. [SPEAKER_01]: They did it because again, this is like a plot line that we never ever like hear about again. [SPEAKER_01]: They have to come to this conflict with our solution. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like we never hear about this again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But to that end, when we go to Friday night dinner in the next scene, like even though this is alone, we never hear about again, what I think it really needed to do was prove to Laura [SPEAKER_01]: her mom is going to be in her life for no money. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, and I appreciate that Laura lie apologize to Emily.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that is, it seems rare that she does do it a lot, Laura does kind of like own up to it and apologizes. [SPEAKER_01]: Specifically in season two, like with everything with Mia and the painting and all of that stuff that happens in the end of the incident as if ends. [SPEAKER_01]: And like now, she's starting to have more confiding in her mother moments about the reasons she does to think she does.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that was really special to see. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I do love an Emily says that almost sounded sincere because should I have cut one of the really? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because I think she genuinely is, but I just think she does recognize there's an obligation. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, of course.

[SPEAKER_00]: Of course. [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_00]: Because I don't think that Emily had that plant when she got the loan. [SPEAKER_00]: I genuinely think it was just for sure. [SPEAKER_01]: But I do love that she's just like, and by the way, I'm gonna be hosting my dear amaze at the end.

[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you don't mind. [SPEAKER_01]: She's good. [SPEAKER_01]: She's good. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's it so all in all this episode was, you know, I mean, I mean, again, no plot just vibes. [SPEAKER_01]: There is a closeie, but it's like it's a cozy episode. [SPEAKER_01]: It's fine. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't love it.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not one of my favorites. [SPEAKER_01]: Not my favorite. [SPEAKER_01]: Not my least favorite. [SPEAKER_01]: No, definitely not. [SPEAKER_01]: But we'd like it better than run away little boy. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I could totally see that. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of put them on the same on the same plane. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, was it necessary? [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, we're here. [SPEAKER_01]: You're fine. [SPEAKER_01]: Sure. [SPEAKER_01]: We did be a fun. [SPEAKER_01]: We had a silly good time. [SPEAKER_01]: So we had six cups of coffee, which brings us to 41 cups of coffee.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I do not know. [SPEAKER_00]: 11. [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like we're hadn't in the right direction. [SPEAKER_01]: I think we are, too, because we are only 25 away from [SPEAKER_01]: like the total from season one. [SPEAKER_00]: And here we are. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I should mention that even though this past Tuesday is our season finale for Gilmour to say on the pod, we're going to be continuing with Patreon episodes through the holiday season. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So we will be here every Friday with you guys.

[SPEAKER_00]: And next week we'll be back with Richard and Stars Hollow. [SPEAKER_01]: I know I can't wait for Richard and Star's Hollow. [SPEAKER_01]: This was an episode that I actually thought we could skip when I was doing my rewatch with Brad, but he loved this episode. [SPEAKER_01]: And so it's a great episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I forgot about it. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm excited to cover it. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Love you, bye.
