[SPEAKER_01]: Five, six, seven, eight. [SPEAKER_01]: Daisy's lazy, hazy, crazy, daisy, max. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, max, all right, here we go. [SPEAKER_01]: Hi, everybody. [SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to Gilmore to say with Tara and Haley. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm Tara. [SPEAKER_01]: This is Haley. [SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Haley.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Tara. [SPEAKER_00]: What's that? [SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Daisy. [SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Daisy. [SPEAKER_01]: Haley's coming to us from Florida. [SPEAKER_01]: Florida. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: Florida. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I've actually been here for a second. [SPEAKER_00]: For the last couple of episodes.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've just been located to her. [SPEAKER_00]: I've been Florida. [SPEAKER_00]: You did. [SPEAKER_00]: You relocated. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I do. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my family lives down here. [SPEAKER_00]: So I just bought between their homes. [SPEAKER_00]: I will be someplace different next week.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I won't be saying, but be there, but hey, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just ours. [SPEAKER_01]: I had a wonderful week this week. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm so glad. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I had a really, really, really great week this week since we recorded our last episode because I was at Titanique this week.

[SPEAKER_00]: You were okay, wait. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh, you're gonna tell me something like something happened. [SPEAKER_00]: I like immediately got skeptical of you. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, you were like, what have you been hiding from me? [SPEAKER_00]: The amount of times that Tara has like dropped something for me because she was like, I've had a great week.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, say more. [SPEAKER_01]: I had some great pasta. [SPEAKER_01]: I watched that the other night. [SPEAKER_01]: It was giving I had my pasta. [SPEAKER_00]: Gagement guide what a time oh my gosh you guys I cannot believe that I'm not in New York City and like there has not been a show like a Broadway show that I have felt like a deep burning desire to go see but I have been wanting to see Titanique for quite some time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's your favorite movie. [SPEAKER_00]: It is my favorite type Titanic specifically like I used to watch it weekly like I've seen that movie so many times I can tell you the exact point that the double VHS pauses of course other VHS in like yeah, I'm a big fan titanique is a satirical take [SPEAKER_00]: on Titanic?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's like a parody musical. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's told through the music of Celine Dion. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: And Celine Dion narrates. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: It's... [SPEAKER_01]: I have been doing this for a long time. [SPEAKER_01]: I have been working in this business for 12 years.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is one of my favorite shows that I've ever worked on. [SPEAKER_01]: I was only there for a week. [SPEAKER_01]: Like you were doing dressing. [SPEAKER_01]: I was dressing. [SPEAKER_01]: I dust it off my dress or shoes. [SPEAKER_01]: You guys know that I when I'm not on the mic I'm moonlighting on Broadway, but I haven't dressed in like two years and I had so much He's been naked for two years.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I've been just stark naked for two years No, but I had so much fun backstage not only is the show itself really good And I haven't even seen it from the front gap, but I had so much fun [SPEAKER_01]: I had a great time back there because the group is amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: They're all like so incredibly talented and also so incredibly kind.

[SPEAKER_01]: So there's a lot of people that like you would probably recognize like Frankie Grande is a pretty Grande, Jim Parsons, Deborah Cox, and Marlomondell and Constantine Russoly. [SPEAKER_01]: who play Celine Dion and Jack, they wrote it together. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and conceptualized it like 10 years ago.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, which funny enough, we had our first LA live show, where it was first staged. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, was it that where it was first staged? [SPEAKER_01]: It was like one of the first, it was one of the first, it was one of the first, it was at the 90s typewriter, which I think you guys were with us at the 90s typewriter in LA.

[SPEAKER_01]: you're in the same location that this pre-tandemic was being workshopped and they did concert versions of readings and then their first production of it in New York City was in the basement of Gristidis here in the city and then they moved to another off-premise deities as a hardware store by the way.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's one of Gristidis. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a grocery store. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a grocery store. [SPEAKER_01]: And now they're on Broadway and they just got nominated for a bunch of Tony Awards. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's really fun because, of course, like you said, people starring in it helped write it, which is just I always think it's so fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: But don't press it. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me tell you guys something. [SPEAKER_00]: So Tara has been working on this for the last like two weeks or so. [SPEAKER_00]: And I knew about this, because this was like floating around when I was. [SPEAKER_00]: working on Broadway. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I knew about it, but I did not know because we were going feel like the Tony-nomes mean Tara, and she was telling me about someone else who was nominated, and I was like, who do they play in the show?

[SPEAKER_00]: They play the iceberg. [SPEAKER_00]: And I wanted to pass away at this because every single detail that Tara tells me about this musical, I'm looking at [SPEAKER_01]: Like, and I'm trying not to tell you too much because I'm trying more to be serious. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you were like, stop talking to me about this because I'm coming to see it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I actually saw it on Tuesday. [SPEAKER_01]: I've had he love the time of his life. [SPEAKER_01]: He said he hasn't laughed like that in the theater in a long time. [SPEAKER_00]: Ah, see you that's a thing too. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, there's been nothing that I've felt like this dying urge to see.

[SPEAKER_00]: other than like that one definitely, but like also Bragg time and oh everyone see Bragg time. [SPEAKER_01]: But like when you come here, we'll see Titanic and Ragtime together, it'll be so much. [SPEAKER_01]: That's actually different shows, a Titanic difference. [SPEAKER_01]: It'll be more different.

[SPEAKER_01]: Bragg time and Titanic, but yeah, if if you're into like, can't be funny, just like Titanic, Titanic, humor, it's so good, go see it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's an hour and third, it's 90 minutes. [SPEAKER_01]: No intermission and I love it. [SPEAKER_01]: of shows like that. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And in now, love. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, quick and dirty. [SPEAKER_01]: When's it, Ben? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: That's actually a great question. [SPEAKER_01]: I know Victor Garber saw the show when it was off Broadway. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my, my man. [SPEAKER_01]: And like, so perfect.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I can speak to Victor Garber. [SPEAKER_01]: Of course, was in the movie Titanic. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: He was the architect of the Titanic. [SPEAKER_00]: He was, I bet you was shooting. [SPEAKER_00]: Sure. [SPEAKER_00]: Sure. [SPEAKER_01]: Rose, man. [SPEAKER_01]: He says.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh gosh, I know. [SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait for you to come up because you know, you know Leonardo Caprio is never gonna go. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, probably not, but like I could be as I'm not aware of it. [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like Kate wins like I could go. [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like shoot. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, first her.

[SPEAKER_01]: John Chew was there when I was training linemen while Miranda came on. [SPEAKER_01]: I was training like a bunch of really but when Yang was there the other night. [SPEAKER_01]: He's producer on the show like yeah, Los culture East does. [SPEAKER_01]: Those boys are producers on the show alongside G.C.

[SPEAKER_01]: Shazay and Joey Fatone from InSank, [SPEAKER_00]: when you want to collab with people because Tara was like wondering who was going to be there because like usually after like a show is nominated for a Tony someone from the team will usually speak after the performance following the nominated end and she was like giving me a list of people who might be there and I was like this is the wildest game of like who would you want at your dream during dinner party like truly absolutely wild but oh gosh I know this has been an ad for Titany [SPEAKER_01]: It's not a baked in ad for Titanic.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're not truly not. [SPEAKER_01]: No, not at all. [SPEAKER_01]: I just I work there and I love it I look forward to going to work a different way. [SPEAKER_01]: That's true in a very different way But I looked forward to going to work every single day. [SPEAKER_01]: It was so much fun and it's funny because after we had that conversation on Tuesday when the Tony Noms came out [SPEAKER_01]: And I was talking to you about late in Williams, who is nominated.

[SPEAKER_01]: It says Broadway debut. [SPEAKER_01]: He won an Olivier word for playing the iceberg and Titanic out in the UK. [SPEAKER_01]: He got nominated for featured actor and musical Tony nomination. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was so, so happy and so proud of him. [SPEAKER_01]: But after I told you that, you were like, whoa, wait, someone plays the iceberg.

[SPEAKER_01]: I a person placed the iceberg and that person got nominated for a Tony award. [SPEAKER_00]: Like your performance was so moving famously as a nice script that doesn't move immovable the kind of the kind of the point kind of the point of the story. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it kind of the point of a bird.

[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I told him about arcs change. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you told the iceberg? [SPEAKER_01]: I told the iceberg. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's really funny. [SPEAKER_00]: That warms my heart. [SPEAKER_01]: That gets the chills my heart deeply. [SPEAKER_01]: This raises my heart over. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, if you all are in the city and looking for a really fun time, Titanic is a. I go ASAP because it seems like it's going to do quite well.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was, it did so well off Broadway. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why they transferred to Broadway. [SPEAKER_01]: It's understandable. [SPEAKER_01]: And they are limited run. [SPEAKER_01]: They just extended to September 20th. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think they'll show you that in time? [SPEAKER_01]: But definitely cool yourself off this summer, a titanic.

[SPEAKER_00]: Go see that iceberg man. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, well, so I'm so good. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm so excited because you know I love crowd participation. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and at the end, like after the curtain call, everyone sings my heart will go on. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just like, I'm practicing every morning.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I can't wait. [SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna have so much fun there. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm excited to see it from the front because I never had. [SPEAKER_01]: I've only never experienced it from the side. [SPEAKER_00]: Did you say from the booty I have I've only seen the booty I've only been back there Yeah, I haven't seen it from the front like every time you say that like she's always on the booty [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, we are not here to just exclusively talk about Broadway, but if you need to remind her that we're two theater girls, that was it.

[SPEAKER_01]: If that five six seven eight wasn't doing it for you, if that five six seven eight every week did do for you, this definitely did. [SPEAKER_01]: But we are here today to talk about one of the proposals on Gilmore Girls, which is a crazy crazy one. [SPEAKER_01]: possibly we're here to kind of dissect that today because last month we did a really fun episode called but he's my dean and that was an analyzing the final scene in the season for finale of Gilmore Girls line by line and I love doing that with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: and our listeners really enjoyed the scene analysis. [SPEAKER_01]: And so we thought it would be really fun since this is the month of Daisy's. [SPEAKER_01]: We have a Daisy collection out right now to take one of the scenes from Love Daisy's Intributors, which just celebrated its 25th anniversary.

[SPEAKER_01]: I cannot believe and really analyze one of the last scenes of [SPEAKER_01]: that episode as well, which is the proposal from Max to Laura live, but not just the end, where the days these are there, and you know, everybody knows the famous scene of Laura life sitting amongst quote unquote a thousand yellow days is probably like 10,000 yellow days, but that is not a thousand.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's not a thousand. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think that Kirk can't count and he kept losing count weight? [SPEAKER_01]: That's really funny and he was like nine thousand one not nine hundred and I'm but ten thousand being defensive of it like a head of time Yeah, and you get inside and you're like oh my god He looks like a thousand times But we really are here to analyze the conversation that happens with Max and Laura like in their living room We were joking around that we're only analyzing scenes that happen in the get-wars [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, are there others?

[SPEAKER_01]: Because that really is the first proposal. [SPEAKER_00]: It is a technically a proposal. [SPEAKER_00]: They say, well, she says you're not proposing to me. [SPEAKER_00]: And here's like, yeah, I am. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, okay, okay, this is a proposal. [SPEAKER_00]: So this is a proposal.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's the one that a lot of people forget about. [SPEAKER_01]: They think about the proposal on the phone with her sitting amidst all of the daysies. [SPEAKER_01]: but they forget that there was this whole conversation leading up to this. [SPEAKER_01]: That really does call into question and we've talked about this a little bit on the podcast, but never really dove into it and we are today.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like if that proposal was lazy, romantic, out of jealousy, like what? [SPEAKER_01]: Out of insecurity, out of fear, there's a lot to unpack there. [SPEAKER_00]: I actually think it's all of those. [SPEAKER_00]: I think all of those are packed up in there. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's chat.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's find out. [SPEAKER_01]: So we are, of course, talking about season one, episode 21, love Daisy's and troupe doors, and towards the end, Luke comes in because he has just broke it, like Rachel just left the night before and he comes to get his toolbox burnt. [SPEAKER_01]: and he and Laura Liar chatting and we're going to exclude that part of the conversation because I do think that it's pertinent but I don't think today's episode is the right time to talk about that conversation.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and like if you don't remember that scene between like when Max comes in between Max and Luke and Laura Liar, it's just basically like a who stick is bigger than who's come well she says as much she's like YouTube finished swing in those things around [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's like really just they have lore live between them and they're playing.org, it's true, which is like the impetus for this comes completely.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but we're going to start with Max's line. [SPEAKER_01]: So not to be blunt, but is that over? [SPEAKER_01]: Because it is like I said, it's pertinent to the scene because that is what Max is referencing. [SPEAKER_01]: He is referencing Luke, Laura Lehigh, the tension there that Max kind of walks in on.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's there to pick her up for a date. [SPEAKER_01]: It kind of escalates from there, so it does escalate, it really escalates, it does. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's quite interesting because Luke ends it with doesn't matter what time it is, I'll always be around. [SPEAKER_00]: So when Mac says not to be blunt, but is that over, I'm not blaming him for this.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, not at all, I was thinking about this and I was like, if I were Max and I walked in on let's say like Bret and I were still in the dating phase, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And I walked in on Bret having a conversation with someone who's in his life regularly, who like, maybe I didn't really think twice about, but I picked up on something, yeah, left their toolbox there, like, they found, yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because for firm, [SPEAKER_01]: Like the better term, like that was a little bit of a challenge or kind of like a threat from Luke. [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, I'm always going to be around. [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_00]: And it like with his toolbox is what it sounded like. [SPEAKER_00]: Like there's weapons in there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, like that's what it felt like. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I felt like Max was being very, [SPEAKER_00]: the way that he delivered it was kind of a little intense, the, so not three blunt, but is that over? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I kind of would have, I would have kind of about it differently and I'm like, so what's going on there?

[SPEAKER_00]: What was I just doing there? [SPEAKER_00]: Why was I kind of defending me there? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, why did I walk into a very tense, what felt like a very tense conversation? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Because the thing is, and I think Max speaks to this in these lines here. [SPEAKER_01]: So not to be blunt, but is that over?

[SPEAKER_01]: Is what over? [SPEAKER_01]: Whatever's going on that I just walked in on. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Max, come on. [SPEAKER_01]: That's Luke. [SPEAKER_01]: And he says, I kind of picked something up there. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because there is there there. [SPEAKER_01]: And she says, like, there is no there there later in the scene.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it's like, there is. [SPEAKER_01]: There is. [SPEAKER_01]: And maybe you don't want to acknowledge it. [SPEAKER_01]: And Luke is like kind of [SPEAKER_01]: before she left. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But there is there there. [SPEAKER_01]: And we can't ignore that. [SPEAKER_00]: And I do feel like Luke brought something over to put down.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like Luke had something he was putting down. [SPEAKER_00]: And unfortunately, it wasn't Lorelei who picked up on it. [SPEAKER_00]: It was Max. [SPEAKER_00]: So when Lorelei says like her responses to him here, some of like my favorite lines of her. [SPEAKER_00]: I love it. [SPEAKER_00]: Which says, okay, we'll drop back on the ground and kick it into the couch because there's no there there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I really wish that that max like the direction of this would have been like no like maybe you don't see it, but there is something there like it [SPEAKER_00]: it came off very accusatory that she was keeping something from him rather than maybe she was keeping something from herself or like no recognizing his affection because this feels like everything that Max is doing here feels really accusatory.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah and it's interesting to measure that up against this scene and maybe we need to do this in a different episode that Rachel just had with Luke. [SPEAKER_01]: We're like, come on. [SPEAKER_01]: I know what's happening here. [SPEAKER_01]: You're in love with Laura. [SPEAKER_01]: She says it without saying it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And Max is taking a different approach. [SPEAKER_01]: And understandably so, I mean like they're together. [SPEAKER_01]: They're doing this thing and he's sitting here kind of like, I don't want to waste my time. [SPEAKER_01]: Like if you're already, if there's already something going on over here, I don't want to waste my time.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he doesn't say that. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's probably why it comes across as accusatory is because there's a lot of subtext here. [SPEAKER_00]: well also because like adding like the jealousy factor into it it's not like Max walked into this conversation with Luke and was like hey man it's so nice to see you and like Luke was very like forthcoming and like very like putting himself out there and like marking his territory.

[SPEAKER_00]: Max was doing it right back like totally. [SPEAKER_00]: Max like had this energy that it seemed like he needed to like make sure with her this is just us right I just like don't like the way that Max responds to her saying like there's nothing going on here is like hey it's okay, we are part for quite a while.

[SPEAKER_00]: I never assume do you join the convent like. [SPEAKER_00]: What? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think that maybe that's where he's like the angle he's taking it from like, oh While we were apart like maybe you guys slept together and maybe they're still chemistry there and they're still tension there But that's not what's happening.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he is really seemingly trying to pull something out of her. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes Like being like, hey, it's fine [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it's also, okay, do you remember? [SPEAKER_00]: Of course you remember. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is season finale of maizeal when Joel's kind of like, so I'm getting a promotion soon.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's what Max's energy is here. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's unlike what we're coming on so strong. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like totally. [SPEAKER_00]: But I don't blame Max for wanting to know more about this situation. [SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't either. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that, again, like we just talked about, he walked into a situation that was clearly, I think, and again, this is, we have to kind of save this for another episode, I do think that Luke was [SPEAKER_01]: about to potentially tell her that Rachel left because he's like she says that there's something here between you and me is there something here between you and me?

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he was really we've we've talked about we've gone back and forth before and whether or not Luke really had the hoods but to be like is there something here or if he was coming over to say like I have feelings for you because Rachel's parting line to him is don't wait too long to tell her [SPEAKER_01]: Talk about acting for the back of the house.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I knew you say that about Joel a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: I do say that. [SPEAKER_00]: That's Rachel. [SPEAKER_00]: That's Rachel to a T. She's a iceberg. [SPEAKER_01]: She asks it's true. [SPEAKER_01]: But I think that Max and Rachel both represent kind of the mirror being held up to both of them in different ways and with two very different results.

[SPEAKER_01]: And mostly because Max decides to take the insecurity and fight for Laura Liwa's Rachel chose to take the insecurity see it for what it was and recognize that their [SPEAKER_01]: theirs. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, our time has passed. [SPEAKER_01]: It is coming gone. [SPEAKER_01]: She could have stayed in fought, but it was not going to be worth it in the end.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: She had their body and resigned in her. [SPEAKER_00]: Resigned is a great word. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that I don't necessarily, like, I definitely think Max is fighting for her, but I also think he's fighting her a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure. [SPEAKER_00]: Like he's fighting for her via fighting her about this Luke thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because him volunteering the information of like it's not like I didn't do what we were apart. [SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_00]: You dated a little, a little person? [SPEAKER_00]: No, I dated a little. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: a little person like her comedy here is so funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the man when they get to me. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't expect you to join a man event or whatever the male equivalent of this call. [SPEAKER_00]: Who did you date? [SPEAKER_00]: A monastery. [SPEAKER_00]: You dated a monastery like, it's perfect. [SPEAKER_00]: Like the way the genius.

[SPEAKER_00]: The way that like we're alleviated from this tension between the two of them. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we're the levity. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 100%. [SPEAKER_01]: And he says no, a monastery is the male equivalent of a comment. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Mr. Medina. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll make a note for the quiz on Friday.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know if I'd ever see you again. [SPEAKER_01]: He says. [SPEAKER_01]: which is interesting. [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, also why did you think you wouldn't see her again? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's your student's mom. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm going to see her at some point definitely.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the way that they left things in Paris's burning didn't allude to like we're never going to see each other again. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know if I was ever going to see you again. [SPEAKER_01]: Sure, but your parting words to her were like, [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we should take some time apart.

[SPEAKER_01]: That to me isn't like, I never want to see you again. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not like the actual fight, and she was like, don't ever speak to me again. [SPEAKER_01]: And now that we're in this reconciliation, which is unanticipated, you know? [SPEAKER_00]: And he was the one who was definitely pulling away from that there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, I didn't know if I would ever see you again. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, well, as it turns out, you could have... [SPEAKER_00]: attempted like I wish it would have been more of like a maybe a desire like I didn't know if I wanted to see you again or like I didn't know if that was right or I don't know I didn't know if I would see you again well we would see each other but what would that have meant if we did see each other?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah I think the the intention behind that line was more like I didn't know if we would ever have a chance again. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm quote unquote moved on. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe just in the physical sense, but I moved on. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this really does feel like maybe Logan should have had this sort of conversation with for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I didn't know if I'd see you again. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know if we'd get back together. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but so for that, congrats, Max. [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for your honesty. [SPEAKER_00]: Which is what you said. [SPEAKER_01]: I said, no, I got it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we were apart.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I didn't exactly remain inactive and Max is so you did date Luke. [SPEAKER_01]: No, I did not date Luke. [SPEAKER_00]: He really wants to be right about this. [SPEAKER_00]: And like yeah, Max, I'll give you your flowers. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll give you your credit here. [SPEAKER_00]: You are right.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pun intended. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll give you your flowers. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, Kirk will give you your flowers. [SPEAKER_00]: But like you are right. [SPEAKER_00]: And like that's what's so hard about this is like, [SPEAKER_00]: He is correct and she is also correct. [SPEAKER_00]: They're both right here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was like, I kind of was like, okay, we didn't date him, but he's in love with you. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, something along those lines that like, actually, you know what, I think I would hate that. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that any recognition that like Lucas in love with her would have like decimated me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I think it had to be all subtext it had to be. [SPEAKER_00]: It had to be. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: We were, I don't think is an audience. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: We needed more time with this. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just makes the gratification of them getting together more.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it makes this sense by less wrong because like I know that in the past when we've talked about the scene, we've always wondered if like Luke would have tacked on like hey Rachel said. [SPEAKER_00]: that she left because of us. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that like that in the Max walks in and this whole thing happens, I think that that would have left us to devastating and that everything in her life would have felt wrong until she was with Luke.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean a lot of people feel that way anyway, but like it's doing enough like in the settled tease and like the acts of service that Luke does on his own. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't necessarily think I would have liked it in the delivery of that. [SPEAKER_01]: Totally agree. [SPEAKER_01]: So she says no, I did not do Luke.

[SPEAKER_01]: Max says you can tell me. [SPEAKER_01]: I did not do Luke. [SPEAKER_01]: There was a vibe. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think she could have told him? [SPEAKER_01]: He said you can tell me. [SPEAKER_01]: Can she tell him? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think so. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: I think so.

[SPEAKER_01]: The thing about his demeanor and the scene is that like [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, there's an accusatory undertone, but I do think Max is a pretty understanding guy. [SPEAKER_01]: And he leads with, like, hey, listen, I didn't exactly, you know, I didn't expect you to join a convent. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's supposed to be inviting.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's supposed to be like I'm inviting you into the conversation, but it's kind of like, why are you telling me? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: And it opens up this conversation where she's like, okay, good, good, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I like your honesty because I mean, you could have lied and left that part out to spare my feelings, which would have been unnecessary.

[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: That was good. [SPEAKER_01]: I slept with worries dad. [SPEAKER_01]: And now it has become a pissing contest between the two of them. [SPEAKER_01]: It went from Luke and Max to Lorelie and Max. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, doing a tip for Tad on who they were with. [SPEAKER_00]: When Laura Light does blur that out first of all, I love that it's like a rambling and then she's like, I slept with Laura's dad.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I don't know if it was like she felt like she needed to be honest about this because he was being honest because she liked his honesty. [SPEAKER_00]: If she felt like she would be like on uneven footing with him or if she wanted him to feel as badly as that statement made her feel.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that it's the latter. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, Laurel, I, for, in all the ways that I just absolutely love her as a character, there's a petulence there that exists, especially in season one. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that that's where this comes out.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's tempting. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like, it's not that he was necessarily baiting her, but as you, as you've said, it's, there was an accusatory tone there of like, [SPEAKER_01]: So you did Luke, and I also wonder if it was her kind of getting him off of this idea of Luke. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, you're just nothing going on between me and Luke.

[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, like I slept with someone completely different. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're honestly probably more threatening to you. [SPEAKER_01]: And that was Rory's dad. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is where I wrote because Max goes, let's change the subject because he does not want to talk about this anymore.

[SPEAKER_01]: At this point, I feel like reality is setting in. [SPEAKER_01]: It's one thing when, like, you guys have gotten back together, there's a freshness there. [SPEAKER_01]: There's almost like this newlywed honeymoon energy to getting back together with someone who you've thought about all of the time.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then reality sets in, especially when like you, when I say you, I mean Max Medina, who kind of brought forth this, like, hey, so what's going on there? [SPEAKER_01]: Like is that over? [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I dated people. [SPEAKER_01]: It's one thing when you've had relations with somebody.

[SPEAKER_01]: it's another thing to find out that the person that you were thinking about that whole time also had relations with someone, not just someone and not just the man that you like just kind of gently accused her of having something with. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: You can tell there's a chemistry there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Her daughter's father, who you know for all intents and purposes, nothing about you've never met [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think he says his version of it to make her a little jealous like a I saw people because like I think it was inviting, but I also think that he just got really jealous of Luke of like I I did that's the latter like the soul train get down kind of dating like that's so a lot of honesty [SPEAKER_00]: It is.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think it's like a little bit out of like that pissing contest that we didn't talk about with him and Luke. [SPEAKER_00]: And then to for Lorelight to be like, I slept with a raise father. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's change a subject. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my parents balcony. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to change a subject.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you started it. [SPEAKER_00]: That's so true. [SPEAKER_00]: You did start this. [SPEAKER_00]: He did. [SPEAKER_01]: But when he says, I did not mean for this to become a who slept with whom contest. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that's true? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he intended for it to go that way.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he did, but if you're going to be really adamant and ask her these questions, and then kind of give her that, like, ah, you don't know what it is. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, are you saying this to make her jealous? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, are you, is that actually true? [SPEAKER_00]: Cause like, you don't know them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, like you can't say, like, [SPEAKER_00]: It was this person I met at the grocery store on the sidewalk at the school. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I was another parent, like, you know what I mean? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's my, that's my thing dating parents. [SPEAKER_00]: Giving a panel in lot, like, we were at a restaurant.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know it. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, maybe I do know it. [SPEAKER_01]: I said it and she's like, I don't know it. [SPEAKER_00]: But there's like an honesty there that, like, he's not making it up. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's like, oh, you're right. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't know that. [SPEAKER_00]: That only really comes, I think, with like 40 years of marriage.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, you genuinely don't know this. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that like is Max being honest and then now that it's like a who's up with whom contest it's like oh you actually okay this is going in a direction I didn't expect because I thought this was about Luke who now I have so many people I have to fight [SPEAKER_01]: not so what he'd be playing for fight.

[SPEAKER_01]: But more like says, well, how did it get that way? [SPEAKER_01]: And he says, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, it got that way because I do think that at the end of the day, and this is where the conversation shifts, I don't think these two know each other as well as they think they do.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, as much as they want to know each other. [SPEAKER_01]: You're not there yet. [SPEAKER_01]: They're still in this like very early iteration of dating where there's a lot of insecurity and there's [SPEAKER_01]: not a lot of security. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that they're having these, like, I think they were on the track up until Paris is burning to have a very healthy relationship.

[SPEAKER_01]: And as soon as everything fell apart and I do put that on Laura, and I'm not saying that she was like out of, I understand why her concerns about worry in that episode took control and she didn't quite know how to navigate that. [SPEAKER_01]: I think she is emotionally stunted when it comes to [SPEAKER_00]: for sure.

[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of aspects of her life, but especially her love life. [SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm not villainizing her when it comes up. [SPEAKER_01]: She is the reason why the relationship got to railed. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was going great up until that moment. [SPEAKER_01]: It was very healthy.

[SPEAKER_01]: It seemed very healthy. [SPEAKER_01]: And because of this stumble and the separation and then the revisiting of it in the breakup part two where she goes to his house and she's like, [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I don't know why I'm here and I don't know what I want, but I just miss you and they end up sleeping together and it's just kind of like Max is the one who's trying to be very level head and then she just wants to act on impulse and emotions and I think that it's created this really really sticky dynamic between the two of them Max, we're in a bad pattern.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a bad pattern. [SPEAKER_01]: His solutions a little. [SPEAKER_00]: of his solution. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's continue on. [SPEAKER_00]: Because he says, why do we do this? [SPEAKER_00]: Why do we let it get weird between us just when it's getting good again? [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm sorry, but I do think that this part of it was a max, and this was max leading with his jealousy, feeling like he needed to step up to Luke, who he felt threatened by, which is not giving secure relationship.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's tough because I'm trying to put myself in Mac's issues, and then I'm trying to put myself in lower-rise shoes Because if I were Max and I walked in on like I said a tension filled kind of moment There was like there's chemistry here. [SPEAKER_01]: There's familiarity here. [SPEAKER_01]: There's something here and this guy likes my girlfriend.

[SPEAKER_01]: I can tell [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what's going on here? [SPEAKER_01]: Just be honest with me. [SPEAKER_00]: Like you can tell me, but like there's an aspect of it that she is telling, we know, we know she's telling. [SPEAKER_00]: She's telling him the truth. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's where I'm like, oh, he doesn't entirely trust her.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: He's trusting what he thinks to be true, which is the foundation of lack of trust, is that like what I believe to be true about the situation. [SPEAKER_00]: Trump's what I think that you're telling me. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, and not something that he made up necessarily in his mind, he picked up on a vibe.

[SPEAKER_01]: He goes, I picked up on something here. [SPEAKER_01]: And I believe it's a good one to get a good kind of situation. [SPEAKER_01]: What he was picking up on? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, of course. [SPEAKER_01]: We've seen the entire, we've seen it in 10 million times. [SPEAKER_01]: And we know we saw it in just a little.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like in that, in that regard, I have an understanding from Max. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: But at the same time with Laura Life from Laura Life's vantage point, she's sitting here going like, [SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing going on here. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like completely innocent.

[SPEAKER_01]: All this. [SPEAKER_01]: My friend came over to take his toolbox away. [SPEAKER_00]: And like, I don't know why he was swinging your dicks around there. [SPEAKER_00]: But as the omniscient third party that we are, we have to look at Max looking at Laura lie. [SPEAKER_00]: Like Laura lie is the truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: Laura lie is who we should trust and he doesn't. [SPEAKER_00]: And so he's like, why do we let it get weird between us when it's good and getting good again? [SPEAKER_00]: The crux of it is that you guys don't have a lot of trust. [SPEAKER_00]: There's not a foundation of trust. [SPEAKER_02]: Totally.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when she says, I don't know, I'm like, it's trust. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't like it. [SPEAKER_00]: Then trust each other. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't either. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, they formed some trust and I'm sick of it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm sick of it. [SPEAKER_00]: So trust each other.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, so why? [SPEAKER_00]: And then he asked something that I want to ask you about to clarify that you don't have the answer to, but I don't know what you thought. [SPEAKER_00]: He says, we can't keep getting this close just to have something completely deralous. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think that he means this close, like the two of us we are getting closer and closer to each other?

[SPEAKER_00]: Or do you think that his mind is already flipping towards marriage? [SPEAKER_00]: And he was like, we are getting this close to like our end being end game. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that two things can be true at once. [SPEAKER_01]: I actually wrote next to this sentence, has he considered this before or did he just come up with this?

[SPEAKER_01]: Is this his knee-jerk reaction or has he been thinking about marrying her? [SPEAKER_01]: Has he been thinking like this is my girl? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is this is the girl. [SPEAKER_01]: So I think there's room for both. [SPEAKER_01]: I think the intention is we can't keep getting this close to one another, just have something like come between us and then we back away from each other again.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I could see it being framed in the context of like we can't keep getting this close to the seriousness of committing ourselves to each other. [SPEAKER_01]: on a grander level, just have something completely derail us. [SPEAKER_00]: That's why I think that his next line makes sense to it being like close to like endgame, close to the altar, close to us, spending the rest of our lives together, because he says, I'm frankly, there's only one thing I could think of back at Solve it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, really great. [SPEAKER_00]: Great job. [SPEAKER_00]: same. [SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, same. [SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, like that is kind of, I understand having been in relationships before, even the relationship I'm currently in, we're like at the beginning things feel touching go. [SPEAKER_01]: You're still learning each other.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's insecurities that you're carrying in from other relationships. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you pass relationships from your own personality and things you've gone through in your life. [SPEAKER_01]: And I understand that it takes a while to adjust to each other and to not only trust, but also give each other what you need in order to trust.

[SPEAKER_01]: But this is kind of the logical solution. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like this doesn't work. [SPEAKER_01]: We keep having like we keep missing each other. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I feel like maybe this isn't right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's where Laura likes has like break up. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's like he just kind of like saw his head like the biggest side.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she's like well, no, I just didn't murder Sue is I kind of thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Because she's not thinking, oh, this means that we should make the biggest commitment you can make to another person, which Max says we should get married. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just, like, it's honestly, honestly insane to me that Laura lies on the level of, like, either we break up or we're going to kill each other.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Max is like, no, we should get married. [SPEAKER_00]: We're not on the same page, we're not on the same book. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, mine's a thriller. [SPEAKER_00]: You are in a romance, but like, how do we reconcile, too? [SPEAKER_00]: Because, like, how does Laura go from breakup to murder suicide?

[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, no, silly, we should get married. [SPEAKER_01]: Silly, silly, Billy. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's not make any trouble. [SPEAKER_01]: And the way he says it, we should get married. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just almost like he blurts it out. [SPEAKER_01]: And the thing is is that he had to have thought about this before.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I imagine that that's something you think about before you get back together. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, fair. [SPEAKER_01]: But this is fast. [SPEAKER_01]: Very fast. [SPEAKER_01]: This is fast. [SPEAKER_01]: Even if they had stayed together from, you know, when they start seeing each other in cinnamon's wake and beyond, it would have been fast.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, oh yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And then here I wrote, Big Pause for Shock. [SPEAKER_00]: Ha ha ha ha. [SPEAKER_00]: Big Pause. [SPEAKER_00]: And then this is my, again, another just like absolutely killer line that like killed me personally is give me a clue as to whether you're kidding or not.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not kidding. [SPEAKER_00]: Good clue. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like clue. [SPEAKER_01]: That is a great clue. [SPEAKER_01]: And he says, what do you say? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I was just talking about murder. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to go so literally. [SPEAKER_01]: Nothing, Max, you did not just propose to me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I did. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I did. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I did. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I too would be like, no, no, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_01]: And she says, no. [SPEAKER_01]: A proposal has to be something more than just a desperate desire to end a bickering match, and if that did not set us up for what the entirety of Gilmour rolls proposals would look like, I don't know what was.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is Amy telling us that a proposal has to be something more than the desperate desire to end a bickering match, because almost every single proposal in this entire series is a desperate desire to end a bickering match. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, so Samaro's episode, I'm talking to Arthur Laurie Gilmour, and we're talking about the scene because she watched it the night before, and I told her this that like every proposal comes out of a fight except for maybe Logan's, yeah, maybe Logan's, but maybe that's not, that's not here, you know, and she was like, that's not good, and I was like, it's simply not, that is simply not how you propose to someone, and you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you

[SPEAKER_00]: especially because like like you we've talked about before there is a conversation that happens before the proposal and that's what this feels like until she's like you did not just propose to me and he's like yes I did and you're like save yourself me and though you didn't save yourself you like no I'm not proposing but I'm proposing the question like I'm proposing the idea like you can backtrack [SPEAKER_00]: you can back to life.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can. [SPEAKER_01]: You could say like, I'm, I'm not. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not asking. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to do that. [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm, but I'm asking you something that you would be interested in. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, if that's something you've thought about, have you thought about it, you know?

[SPEAKER_00]: And if someone asks you, you did not just propose to me. [SPEAKER_00]: take a beat. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what? [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't. [SPEAKER_00]: I did not. [SPEAKER_00]: You're so right. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't. [SPEAKER_00]: I did not. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't write. [SPEAKER_01]: You're right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because everything that Laura like just describes is how our proposal should feel. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And not. [SPEAKER_01]: in the grandiose way necessarily that she is explaining beat for beat because there are people who get engaged in the middle of their living room because their partners just so overwhelmed with how much they love them and want to spend the rest of their lives with them that they're like, I want to marry you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's not the energy that Max Medina brought into this conversation even if that was something he was thinking of he did not bring that energy It was knee jerk. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a desperate desire to end a big ring match. [SPEAKER_01]: He he denies her and says it was more than that [SPEAKER_01]: No, it wasn't.

[SPEAKER_01]: What's it? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, she says no. [SPEAKER_01]: It has to be planned. [SPEAKER_01]: It should be magical. [SPEAKER_01]: There should be music playing and romantic lighting and a subtle build-up to the popping of the big question. [SPEAKER_01]: There should be a thousand yellow daisies and candles and a horse.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know what the horse is doing there unless you're writing it, which seems to be a little over the top, but it should be more than [SPEAKER_01]: this and she's right and she deserves more than that. [SPEAKER_01]: Like we're talking about a woman who's only real serious relationship up until this point that we've seen or that we know of that we've heard of.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was Christopher Hayden who was 16 years old when he asked her to get married and she says that to me and love and warrants know when they talk about it. [SPEAKER_01]: Like have you ever been married? [SPEAKER_01]: Almost so almost got married to where he's done. [SPEAKER_01]: He's like, what happened?

[SPEAKER_01]: It was like the bell rang. [SPEAKER_01]: I had Ken Lab. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it was all very juvenile. [SPEAKER_01]: It was all very because I have to because my parent said so. [SPEAKER_01]: And now she's in a position where it's like, this is a guy she might see herself marrying one day.

[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't doubt that that's gone through her mind with someone like Max Medina who feels secure, who feels really emotionally grounded and intelligent up until this moment. [SPEAKER_01]: And [SPEAKER_01]: She's getting this very like kind of throwaway, desperate desire to end a bickering match.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, no, getting engaged is not problem solving. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, it's the same thing that I feel, and I think that Vory is the one who brings this up in tomorrow's episode with her, is it it feels like the same thing of like if a couple who is married or having problems, so like we should have a baby, that will solve the problem.

[SPEAKER_00]: like that that's gonna help us in a hidden exactly and it's just not like if you're having like patterns that are bad and you think that like legally tying yourself together so it makes it harder to separate that's not that's not the answer and so when you said it was more than that it wasn't I literally wasn't but if it was more than that you did not make that clear here no [SPEAKER_00]: absolutely not.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you know what? [SPEAKER_00]: I commend Max for stepping back and not doubling down. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: She says it should be more than this. [SPEAKER_00]: He says you're right. [SPEAKER_00]: And then what like says, I am right. [SPEAKER_00]: I am right. [SPEAKER_00]: I love that.

[SPEAKER_00]: He says I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: He says, which is good. [SPEAKER_01]: He says, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_01]: She says it's okay. [SPEAKER_01]: He says, let's start the evening over. [SPEAKER_01]: She goes ding dong. [SPEAKER_00]: I love the way she scrunches her nose at that though. [SPEAKER_01]: Like it's so it's set like Lauren grandma's such a cuteie like when she's uh he goes oh now I'm five minutes late and it's so crazy to think that that scene was only like five minutes and why is and it was because it's like so much changed in five minutes yeah so much [SPEAKER_00]: And I've never liked this.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I know that we have talked about this like in revisited in my Patreon. [SPEAKER_00]: And when we talked about the scene in the past, it's like, I could not move on. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, everyone did dinner now. [SPEAKER_00]: What are we going to talk about our day? [SPEAKER_00]: Because that just happened in my day.

[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to talk about it more. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I would like us to leave because I need to go to Siky's house personally. [SPEAKER_00]: I have a lot to download about and I lot to download. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So, Bailey, bye, bye, bye, bye. [SPEAKER_01]: And they'd go to dinner.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then, of course, the next day, we get a series of scenes. [SPEAKER_01]: This is Rory and Dean reuniting Tristan in the P.J. [SPEAKER_01]: Harvey tickets, the rift between Paris and Rory and everything. [SPEAKER_01]: But we're then met with the final scene, which is Boralye running up to the independence end, because Michelle and Kirk are having an argument outside of the independence end.

[SPEAKER_01]: That Michelle is the head of floral delivery. [SPEAKER_01]: And the only people I know can be proud to say that sentence, and Kirk talks about the flower delivery, and Laura, it's suddenly washes over the world I was happening. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And she's walking in like, oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: And she had to be there personally to sign for them, and that's what really clues her into what's going on. [SPEAKER_01]: Now for me, if Max had been standing there amidst these daisies on a horse. [SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, take the worst out of it. [SPEAKER_00]: Please just a dust amount of don't exist.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, yeah, that would be so much damage to the end. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, already where the guests have you sequestered already? [SPEAKER_00]: Not sure where the guests are. [SPEAKER_00]: I honestly think there should have been crowds of people outside of the end. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we can't go in there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we can't navigate. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's just the daysies. [SPEAKER_01]: And it wasn't until we dissected this scene that I actually thought about all of the things that she listed. [SPEAKER_01]: There should be music playing and romantic lighting and a subtle build up to the popping of the big question.

[SPEAKER_01]: There should be a thousand yellow daisies and candles and a horse. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, I don't think he had to follow her play by play, but she's describing a feeling. [SPEAKER_01]: She's describing an energy. [SPEAKER_00]: She says it should be magical and that's where it feels like magical to her.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you know what, the scene, the thousand y'all were Jesus, her standing amidst it and looking around it all of these days. [SPEAKER_01]: He's not one thousand one, not 999, but a thousand. [SPEAKER_01]: She is astonished and it is magical. [SPEAKER_00]: But he's not there. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not there.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that for cinematically, her walking into it in the amongst the days he's on her own is stunning. [SPEAKER_00]: Like one of the most beautiful scenes in the show, [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that the thing that I think is quite romantic about this is saying a thousand yellow days is a fun thing to imagine, like there should be a thousand yellow days.

[SPEAKER_00]: You should throw that out there. [SPEAKER_00]: And I always think that like he made that happen for her. [SPEAKER_00]: He made her see what a thousand yellow days. [SPEAKER_00]: He's really is. [SPEAKER_00]: And like that like that would give me chills of like I had this dream and you made it come true.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think the thing I always get hung up on is she told him to. [SPEAKER_00]: If she had been like talking about that and he manifested it for her. [SPEAKER_00]: And this was what came from it. [SPEAKER_00]: And you're like, wow, you were listening to me. [SPEAKER_00]: Like bars on the floor, but like, thank you so much for listening to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you were listening to me at the bar, but like you, it feels very luke to like perform an action for her like to for her to live out this dream. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that Max should have come out from behind the wall and been on the outside and she should have been in the middle of the daisies and he should have been there.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he is not. [SPEAKER_01]: He's not famous. [SPEAKER_00]: She needs to see his face because I can see his face. [SPEAKER_00]: You can see his face. [SPEAKER_00]: Luke. [SPEAKER_00]: thinkfully cannot see his face, but yeah, I was just like, oh man, beautifully shot, beautifully done, from a cinematic perspective, beautiful, they said get this man out of here.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it's lovely to have her there and his intention here, I'm just going to talk about his intention as a character and what I discern from it. [SPEAKER_01]: is as he speaks in the lines to her when she calls him. [SPEAKER_01]: So she calls him on the phone and he picks up and says I couldn't find a horse.

[SPEAKER_01]: She says you didn't have to and he says don't say anything okay, please. [SPEAKER_01]: You were right last night I shouldn't have proposed to you like that. [SPEAKER_01]: It was stupid. [SPEAKER_01]: It was the wrong place and the wrong time and I kicked myself the entire night for doing it [SPEAKER_01]: We're wrong about something, too.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't propose to you because we were fighting. [SPEAKER_01]: I proposed because I love you. [SPEAKER_01]: We are in a bad pattern, Laura and we have to break it. [SPEAKER_01]: And other than the murder suicide thing we were talking about, which would be illegal and messy. [SPEAKER_01]: I can only think to be impatuous.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then she says, Max, no listen. [SPEAKER_01]: I woke up this morning and I realized that I have studied and talked the great literature all my life and those stories are [SPEAKER_01]: replete with characters that let opportunities slip by. [SPEAKER_01]: But what I teach is more than just literature.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is lessons in life. [SPEAKER_01]: And if I don't follow the tenants of those lessons, I am not the man I thought it was. [SPEAKER_01]: The man I want to be. [SPEAKER_01]: She says, God, you talk so good because he does. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, he says, I don't want to answer now. [SPEAKER_01]: I've thought about this.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to do the same. [SPEAKER_01]: And I do think that his intention here was like, I'm not here to leave you alone with [SPEAKER_01]: with this because I don't care. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm here to leave you alone with this because I've thought about it and I don't want you to answer me yet.

[SPEAKER_01]: And while I understand the intention there, the impact for me as an adult, I loved this as a kid. [SPEAKER_01]: When I was 12 years old and I was like, oh my God, I literally remember putting in my aim profile. [SPEAKER_01]: There she may have thousand yellow days. [SPEAKER_01]: He's I'm 14.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm thinking about my proposal. [SPEAKER_01]: I can guarantee that. [SPEAKER_01]: I can guarantee that. [SPEAKER_01]: I can guarantee that. [SPEAKER_00]: I can guarantee that. [SPEAKER_00]: I can guarantee that. [SPEAKER_01]: I can guarantee that. [SPEAKER_01]: I can guarantee that. [SPEAKER_01]: I can guarantee that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I can guarantee that. [SPEAKER_01]: I can guarantee that. [SPEAKER_01]: I can guarantee that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I can guarantee that. [SPEAKER_01]: I can guarantee that. [SPEAKER_01]: I can guarantee that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I can guarantee that. [SPEAKER_01]: Had I felt like the proposal itself was lazy, I would have had a lot of questions, and I would have had a lot of, no, it's honestly, you know, I would have invited some red lines strict and through, but I think it's more, you guys have talked about it before, and he knew you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is not necessarily him knowing her, this is him following directions. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and can I tell you I think it's quite interesting that when he says and other than the murder Suicide thing you were talking about which would be illegal and messy the illegality of it is what's holding you up the clean up it's the clean up he said I can only think to be impetuous but like thinking about that it's like you can only think to be like rash rash [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you can only think to just make a really brushed decision out of insecurity and fear.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't think that proposals should come out of a place of fear. [SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think she was expecting this. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I do think that after having done this, he needed to make a grand gesture to her to say, like, I really value you and care about you. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it needed to be this.

[SPEAKER_01]: again for the cinematic nature of it all and for this storytelling in the conflict like I love it but when we're actually zeroing in on the proposal itself and his the word teachers behind you and the words he says because she says God you talk so good he does but I think that that can be quite overwhelming for someone is like you can talk the talk but are you walking the walk [SPEAKER_00]: because he even says here, but you were wrong about something.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't propose to you because we were fighting. [SPEAKER_00]: I proposed because I love you. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like we're in a bad pattern. [SPEAKER_00]: And I could only think to do something so rash as proposed to you. [SPEAKER_00]: And I just feel like that whole paragraph there that he has in his monologue.

[SPEAKER_00]: contradicts itself? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I don't know if maybe that's the intention or how that comes about But I don't know and like now he's like reflecting on it He's had time to think about it, but it really only feels like he taught about it. [SPEAKER_00]: He thought about it for one night, and Again, this is something they really don't like about worry and Logan's proposal which like very very different is that like Max has had a lot of time or Max quote unquote had a lot of time to think about it and More like does need time to think about it, but I think that more than anything is we need time to talk about it [SPEAKER_00]: I can't just sit here and come up with a decision about something that is going to impact the both of our lives for the rest of our lives, like I can make a decision about what I want, but we need to make a decision about what we want and like that's so much of what is lacking for Max is like this is a decision for the both of us and I think that that ultimately is a lot of what comes between

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, are I in Luke and season six? [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, what do we want? [SPEAKER_00]: Not what do I want and what do you want? [SPEAKER_00]: And how does that match up? [SPEAKER_00]: Is that a puzzle piece? [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, how do we fit together? [SPEAKER_00]: How do we make our short work together?

[SPEAKER_01]: 100%. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's like my big note for Max here is that it's like, we need to talk about this. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I thought about it. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to give you some time to think about it. [SPEAKER_00]: But I want to talk about this. [SPEAKER_00]: like yeah this can't be off the table and I kind of I've always wanted the scene to be him saying this is what you wanted like this is what it felt like this should have been I'm not proposing to you I'm like proposing that we talk about this like this isn't me proposing marriage I'm proposing that we talk about this because this is what you should have had and I think that we need to talk more [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I always wanted this to be. [SPEAKER_00]: I wanted it to be a composal of conversation and then, you know, he could have ridden up in season two episode one in horse. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm of two minds about this because I do think like upon reflection and analyzing the scene.

[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if Max spent a lot of the time that he was away from more life between Paris's burning and the break apart to really fantasizing about the what if of how they could have been because as far as we know, [SPEAKER_01]: Nothing was wrong in their relationship, leading up to Paris's burning, and they kind of were forced, like, she kind of forced his hand a little bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was like, okay, we have to take time apart from each other, because this imploded in a bad way, and it's jeopardizing my career. [SPEAKER_01]: And I can't have that, so we need to take some time apart. [SPEAKER_01]: And I wonder if like the entire time that they were apart from each other, he was thinking, like, that could have been the girl I was going to marry.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I was falling in love with her. [SPEAKER_00]: But that's not feel so right to all of this that he's like has a fantasy in his mind. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that I thought about this. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And I wonder if he really did. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, if I ever get her back, if we ever, ever, ever have a chance again, I'm never letting go.

[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't say that I'm putting that on him. [SPEAKER_01]: But like, the words he's speaking here lead me to believe that like that may have been the intention there. [SPEAKER_01]: But at the same time, I really wonder what the intention was here from the writer's vantage point, knowing that for the first four episodes of season two, we were going to see the decline of these two.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because I don't think they were ever intending for them to get married. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that like everything we're criticizing about this proposal and Max and Lorealized relationship and the shakiness of it is that they weren't ready to get married. [SPEAKER_01]: The conversations that we were just saying they should have had, they don't have until season two, and they have them way too late.

[SPEAKER_01]: The conversation about Rory and Dean and like, you know, him like what role he plays. [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, you're my fellow, you're my guy. [SPEAKER_01]: Like Rory's cook. [SPEAKER_01]: She's she's done. [SPEAKER_01]: Like she's already in the oven. [SPEAKER_01]: She came out. [SPEAKER_01]: She's perfect.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, [SPEAKER_01]: Before you decide that you're getting married. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, like kind of the decline of their relationship like when he wants to bring his printer over and you're like, do you think of anyone by yourself? [SPEAKER_00]: It does feel like him thinking about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I've had a lot of time to think about this. [SPEAKER_00]: It does feel like he was imagining like, what would it be like to be married to Laura Lye and like kind of fantasizing about it? [SPEAKER_00]: Not really looking at like the actuality of it, which will become more from talking.

[SPEAKER_00]: having a conversation, but I do think that this is such a beautiful scene. [SPEAKER_00]: I know, especially because it's so hard to have someone like Max Medina who is so entrenched and is bringing up literature and all of the great loves that he's read about and the people that have let others slip by and he can't do that and he wouldn't be the man that he wants to be [SPEAKER_01]: filled to the brim with flowers like no it's so stunning and we can't discount that like it's just such an iconic scene and it's it's beautiful and I've loved it since the day I laid eyes on it for the first time when I was 12 like I have loved this scene.

[SPEAKER_01]: So so much so and I mean this does this analysis doesn't take away from that I'm just reading it like now being a 34 year old one. [SPEAKER_01]: I know you're kind of like Again having having been proposed to last year. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just like it should be magical There should be music playing and romantic lighting and a subtle build up the popping of the question.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, there were actually [SPEAKER_01]: or if there were candles, it can't really work. [SPEAKER_01]: It can't really work. [SPEAKER_01]: So I know there wasn't. [SPEAKER_01]: But there were flowers and it was definitely not a horse. [SPEAKER_01]: But like, you know, he put on Gary Connick Jr. in the background and told me to.

[SPEAKER_01]: The building where they shot the last scene of When Harry Mets. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll be like that is so intentional and planned. [SPEAKER_01]: And it was about, like, it was just so special. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's because Brett spent the last four years leading up to that, like, getting to know me and my mainstaying double agent.

[SPEAKER_01]: The whole thing. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, and it doesn't, again, like, it's okay if it's a spontaneous, like, I want to marry you. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we've talked about proposals on this show. [SPEAKER_01]: And I love Jackson and Sukey's. [SPEAKER_01]: proposals. [SPEAKER_01]: It's my favorite one.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that is spontaneous. [SPEAKER_01]: And it makes me cry every single time. [SPEAKER_01]: Is it, you know, kind of a desperate desire to end a big ring match? [SPEAKER_01]: They're definitely undertones. [SPEAKER_01]: There's conflict there. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the most romantic of them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, absolutely. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the most. [SPEAKER_00]: Realistic I would say of like they they should be together and like maybe they're agreeing but it's like They're not bickering about anything that feels as massive as Luke and Max here. [SPEAKER_00]: I was about to say Luke and Laura live.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did say Luke and Max I meant to say Laura line max Wow Sitting in the middle of the days Imagine it's like Luke had been with her [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wow. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: I think I would have a really hard time to be so honest, immediately feeling no about this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because like sitting in the daisies, getting this phone call, having him say all of this, and I think I would be very moved. [SPEAKER_00]: And we need a lot of reflection to be like, I can't just be that. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I'd have to really step out of this like overwhelming feeling. [SPEAKER_01]: But here's the thing, leave it to Amy Sherman Paladino to write a proposal that is so moving and so cinematically stunning that you forget about everything we just analyzed.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this episode today. [SPEAKER_01]: like, it's all under the surface, but that is how they did that so beautiful. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is such an iconic scene in the Gilmore Girls fandom and it is something that we would all love on the surface. [SPEAKER_01]: But beneath the surface, it's like, it's nothing malicious necessarily.

[SPEAKER_01]: it's nothing creepy like a murder suicide. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just it's truly just it's like you you forget about the insecurity and the lack of foundation and the rockiness there you forget about those things because it's so beautiful and moving on top [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but I also love that this really is the most like grandiose of proposals and ultimately it ends because she says I didn't want to try on my wedding dress like he didn't give me that huge grand feeling then the gesture was intended to provide it speaks to like sometimes the most grandiose [SPEAKER_01]: of gestures.

[SPEAKER_01]: Don't always measure up to the love, the health of the relationship, the, like, it being right. [SPEAKER_01]: Because that proposal, what ended up being like very grand, very moving. [SPEAKER_01]: It's beautiful. [SPEAKER_01]: I too probably would have sat there on the phone, being like, where are you?

[SPEAKER_01]: That was so being like, um, I like your house. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Like you're not even at work. [SPEAKER_01]: but also being so overwhelmed by the words and the flowers and the surprise of it all, that I would be moved to say yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Not thinking about all of the things that still need to be resolved within the relationship and that is ultimately their demise because she didn't want to turn her wedding dress every night.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because they didn't have enough time for her to get there. [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_00]: Can I say you? [SPEAKER_00]: When she says, God, you talk so good. [SPEAKER_00]: I do not like that line. [SPEAKER_01]: A to God young. [SPEAKER_00]: Tara, that's exactly what it's giving. [SPEAKER_00]: Like when she says, God, you talk so good.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like honestly, she's sitting in like the same spot. [SPEAKER_00]: The Chris is when he delivers out at the end of season two. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: You're so right. [SPEAKER_00]: He's in later. [SPEAKER_00]: He totally is. [SPEAKER_00]: He's sitting right there. [SPEAKER_00]: He's sitting right there and says, I hope to God you're wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: When she says, God, you talk so good. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, that's what you had to say. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Like he's, this is so moving, God, you talk so good. [SPEAKER_00]: And like it's also giving, like, you talk really well. [SPEAKER_00]: The things you're saying sound good, good things to say, but can you live up to this?

[SPEAKER_01]: And here's what I'm playing. [SPEAKER_01]: I do think that Max and Laura, like, could have had a really beautiful relationship together. [SPEAKER_01]: Had they not wanted to try a dress? [SPEAKER_01]: Then, yeah, had she wanted to try a dress on, but had Max not been in petuous. [SPEAKER_01]: he had really thought.

[SPEAKER_01]: The rashness and the rush. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, here's the thing, when the war light proposes to loop, that's rather rash. [SPEAKER_00]: It is, but they had been together for some time. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, of course. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's fucking loop. [SPEAKER_00]: You know? [SPEAKER_00]: Like what?

[SPEAKER_00]: But come on. [SPEAKER_00]: He builds a nice getting ring. [SPEAKER_00]: Like yeah, come on. [SPEAKER_00]: But I think it's more romantic that he's like, I want to kidnap your daughter and force her to go to school and like this is not happening like we are going to work on this together.

[SPEAKER_00]: You and me we are going to do this as a partnership which he then completely loses for the rest of season six, but [SPEAKER_00]: Right then, he's like, this is what we're going to do. [SPEAKER_00]: His acts of service is not daisies and horses and magical candles. [SPEAKER_00]: It's I am going to take care of you, and I'm going to take care of what matters to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when she asks him, I'm like, fuck the daisies. [SPEAKER_01]: This would actually, that would be a really fun comparison episode to compare this finale proposal to the finale proposal in season five, because they are both in patch U.S. and RASH. [SPEAKER_01]: but in two very different ways.

[SPEAKER_00]: Very different ways. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I think that we have to talk more about the proposals and the weddings as we get closer to one royal wedding later this year. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you know anyone getting married? [SPEAKER_00]: I happen to. [SPEAKER_00]: His name is Brett Deol.

[SPEAKER_00]: Mr. Terrell. [SPEAKER_01]: Mr. Terrell. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, Mr. Terrell. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, but I know we did a proposal in weddings episode like four years ago, so I don't really visit that for sure, because I don't remember what we said when we talked about this. [SPEAKER_01]: So like even just talking about the like comparisons of these two just has me excited and it's you to talk about them again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but [SPEAKER_00]: We're older. [SPEAKER_00]: Some of us are engaged now, so like, you know, we have different ideas. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm really glad we talked about this day. [SPEAKER_01]: Really want to hear what you guys have to say. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: What the besties have to say about all of this. [SPEAKER_01]: If you agree, if you think we're being too harsh on Max, if you still think this was super romantic and they had a chance, don't you agree with us that it was a little lazy? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, lazy, hazy, crazy, daisy, one thousand daisy, but dropping YouTube comments because that's the easiest way for us to see kind of your thoughts and I think you can also time stamp it, which is really great.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I love, please use the time stamp feature more. [SPEAKER_00]: I love it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's my favorite thing. [SPEAKER_01]: and speaking of YouTube, we have a little giveaway we're doing this week and we get to great big beautiful giveaway. [SPEAKER_00]: I would say great big beautiful life came out today May 19th on the day of this episode airing.

[SPEAKER_00]: In paperback a year after it's released, it was also our book club pick last month. [SPEAKER_00]: The reason I picked it for the book club is because it feels like it fell perfectly into the Gilmore girl's nasal era that we ran because it tells [SPEAKER_00]: of Margaret Ives during her life during the 50s and 60s.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it felt kind of aligned to maizeal, but also telling a very Gilmore story about two journalists. [SPEAKER_00]: A bit of a friend's delivers a bit of a work relationship. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I love two people who are journalists. [SPEAKER_00]: I know you do. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And I like that it explores like a relationship with someone who's slightly older, so we have like a very like Emily Gilmore when she is in the revival and she's like living on the coast.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of the vibe that's giving. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so one lucky winner can win the paperback by going to our YouTube. [SPEAKER_00]: But that is not the only thing you could with. [SPEAKER_01]: No, as you guys know, we just released a Dizzy's collection yesterday. [SPEAKER_01]: And we are very excited about it.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have a couple of different options for you guys to choose from. [SPEAKER_01]: So go to www.kilmore to say dot com to shop. [SPEAKER_01]: But we are giving this lucky winner also in addition to the great big beautiful life. [SPEAKER_01]: paperback and item of their choice from our Daisy's collection.

[SPEAKER_01]: So all you have to do is subscribe to us on YouTube and leave your great big beautiful thoughts about Max Medina's Daisy proposal here in the comments on this video and we will announce the winner in our May Round of Episode. [SPEAKER_01]: This giveaway is open to US listeners only, uh, thank you to Berkeley for partnering with us to make this giveaway happen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, that also includes our merch, our Daisy's collection, which we haven't really had a chance to talk and depth about because up until recently we were still waiting to receive it and we were just putting all of the finishing touches on it but I am so [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it is one that we've been working on for a while.

[SPEAKER_01]: We actually, this is the first one we've done with the artist who did the coffee collection Claire Taylor and she did our Daisy covered house for us for their should be daisies and boy are their daisies There is an explosion of daisies. [SPEAKER_01]: She illustrated this beautiful beautiful house for us And of course Emily Kelly, who you all know and love in our familiar with because she does a lot of our designs She did a little trio of stamps love daisies and troubadores to celebrate the 25th anniversary [SPEAKER_01]: of Love Daisy's Intributors, which of course is why we did this whole Daisy's collection, and she also did a nice, all-fun, bouquet of Daisy's, that says, there should be Daisy's.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you have a lot to choose from, and we're really excited about this collection, whether you guys win the giveaway, because of course there can only be one winner. [SPEAKER_01]: It can be only one. [SPEAKER_01]: No one. [SPEAKER_01]: You should check us out at www.goortise.com if you haven't already, because I'm sure we've been posting about it up the Wazoo on our Instagram.
