[SPEAKER_00]: Five, six, seven, eight, part two, part two. [SPEAKER_00]: Break up again. [SPEAKER_00]: Even, let's break up again. [SPEAKER_01]: We're all some of them will. [SPEAKER_01]: We're all some of them will. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's true. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, here we go. [SPEAKER_01]: Hi everybody, welcome back to Gilmour to say with Tara and Haley.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Tara, this is Haley, hi Haley. [SPEAKER_00]: Hi Tara, hi you do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I love spring so much. [SPEAKER_01]: I know you do, but I actually hate it. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the worst season of all time. [SPEAKER_01]: Spring allergies have been really tough on our girl Haley, so send her love and sims I can rather than tech.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm taking sur attack and is that helping? [SPEAKER_00]: It's not. [SPEAKER_00]: I have to go to the to all the alleges because I literally am just weeping all day today. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, everyone who's seen me today is like, you okay, girl? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, some okay fine. [SPEAKER_00]: I find that I don't actually know it because I was like, I'm not Yeah, it should start saying that it's because the pollen is like extreme level today like super extreme highest level it could be right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like off the charts. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's super fun. [SPEAKER_00]: So my eyes just like literally won't stop watering. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you're with us on YouTube, which we love for you to be, you can just watch me cry the whole time. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, [SPEAKER_01]: No, I will say that from here it doesn't look like you're crying to me at least, but I know it's I know it's happening and I know it's been hard on you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but you know what, I like looking at spring. [SPEAKER_00]: I like to decide my house and sometimes that's not even enough. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes the pollen still it gets me, but I like the aesthetic of spring. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like florals, groundbreaking, you know, totally totally.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I also really like the transition out of winter and into spring. [SPEAKER_01]: It just feels like everything's starting to pop. [SPEAKER_01]: Everything, everyone's coming up. [SPEAKER_00]: Like your soul? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, my soul is popping. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm really excited for spring to release.

[SPEAKER_01]: Pop. [SPEAKER_01]: It's spring. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm like bouncing back, it's what I meant. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that's what I mean. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the sun came out, the flowers are blooming, just like you are. [SPEAKER_01]: And just like our spring collection. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, speaking of spring or spring collection is now live at www.gamordesay.com.

[SPEAKER_01]: The new Gilmourdesay.com. [SPEAKER_01]: I got a new outfit, which was designed by Emma with ESM Creative. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And you can chop our new spring collection. [SPEAKER_01]: We have like, I mean, it's, it's our usual spring collection. [SPEAKER_01]: We got spring because he bow, we have the spring stamps, the spring summer stamps, but we also have a new gal joining the round up, the lineup, if you will, and that is our little trio of stamps.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a little trio, I think she's so cute. [SPEAKER_00]: She's on the same little flirty crop as a marvelous time T, but I just think that the little trio is just like a little sampling of the Gilmore girls, like if you don't want the full stamps, you can just get a couple. [SPEAKER_00]: Cause like if you wanna if you wanna talk to your T, like if you're a little if you like a little French talk or if you like a full tuck like me, it looks weird with the full stamps, I'm not gonna lie.

[SPEAKER_00]: So like having like the little cutie shorter one, [SPEAKER_00]: with the trio across, I quite like her. [SPEAKER_00]: She's my favorite, she looks really cute. [SPEAKER_00]: And honestly, I think that as much as I not a fan of spring, I do like our spring, like the spring stamps and the spring's Gazibo, I think, or two of my favorites, just because like the colors that go with them, they're like very yellow, very purple, very lavender, which I think it's just so cute.

[SPEAKER_00]: So now that spring has sprung, spring right over to gomorzay.com. [SPEAKER_01]: And you look marvelous. [SPEAKER_01]: You will look marvelous. [SPEAKER_01]: And our marvelous time teas are still on sale. [SPEAKER_01]: We've rewatched Club on sale because it has come to an end. [SPEAKER_01]: It is, a marvelous time is on sale, meaning that it is available for purchase.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the rewatch Club is actually on sale. [SPEAKER_01]: Discount discount. [SPEAKER_01]: And so if you've been wanting to get a rewatch Club crewneck or a t-shirt or the glass, or if you have one, and maybe it's a little worn out, [SPEAKER_00]: I will also say that is something that people have given us feedback on is like your design might start to fade a lot and I did a little experiment I've been doing it since last summer and it is with our end of summer madness tea and our spring summer stamps that I got at the end of summer so it's like on the blue gene color.

[SPEAKER_00]: One of them every time I wash it put it in the dryer and one of them every time I wash it I hung it to dry and to the stamps. [SPEAKER_00]: Super faded because I put it in the dryer and the summer madness looks brand new looks like it has never been worn It's like pristine perfect. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you're wanting to I mean, I kind of just recommend this in general I hang most of my clothes to dry or like lay them flat to dry anyway So if you're wanting to like preserve your pieces just lay them flat to dry because if you put them in the dryer They will fade the heat will fade it regardless if if you put it on like ultra low Which was what I do for everything the heat will cause it too fade

[SPEAKER_00]: So 100% you wanted to keep it looking brand new. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't put it in the dryer. [SPEAKER_01]: Don't put it in the dryer. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it to dry a flat to dry something because I have actually been doing that with all of our teas and the stuff that I got in Ann Arbor, which that date was announced.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think we might have mentioned that in our last up. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, on October 3rd. [SPEAKER_01]: Mark, you asked me what day it was? [SPEAKER_01]: It's October 3rd. [SPEAKER_01]: It's October 3rd. [SPEAKER_01]: but I got my children t-shirt from their press last year and I was very very adamant about not putting it in the dryer because like there is something to be said about kind of that worn look but I think there's a time in a place for it and if you do it once fine but if you keep doing it I have a Gilmore to say like our logo T in my drawer because I wear it as pajamas it's like an oversized T it is completely like [SPEAKER_01]: you can put it in the red it but like you it's cracked she's cracked and a little busted and it's because i put in the dryer so we always say that on our website as well like make sure that you hang this to dry to preserve the design and if it's a t-shirt i would say lay it flat or like

[SPEAKER_00]: Hang it over the back of like a chair or something because the neck will stretch out to oh So like you'll get like a stretch neck with a preserved design. [SPEAKER_00]: So just do a nice lay letter lay letter Letter take your time and your design will be preserved, but I I wanted to like see because I'll I can post it on our Interim story of like the difference between the stamps and the end of summer madness tea, which I got at the same time It's like wild night like the difference.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, totally and I first I didn't realize I was doing the experiment and then I was like oh [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yeah, just continue and see how this goes because a lot of people complain about fading and it's just about care. [SPEAKER_01]: It really is because I also have a coffee collection team from years and years ago when we first released it and it's been through the dryer so many times and those designs especially like end of summer madness is a perfect example as well those are very like intricate.

[SPEAKER_01]: color heavy design in heavy designs. [SPEAKER_01]: And so if you put them in the dryer, they're going to fall apart immediately because that's what they're yeah, yeah, that's literally like the ink and the color that is put into that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that is that is the majority of the design where it's like arkazibo yes it has the details, but there's like more lines there.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know, all of them, I really think you should be very, very careful with. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's our PSI about our merch. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's a little garment care. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, from us to you. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, last week we talked about spring break ups. [SPEAKER_01]: And of course, these are not breakups that happen in the spring.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're just the breakups that happen on Gilmore Girls season one through three. [SPEAKER_01]: We felt like there's still a two part. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: We felt this deserved a little two part episode. [SPEAKER_00]: did we think it deserved a two-part episode or did we just where we just not able to stop talking?

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, probably both. [SPEAKER_01]: But more than a latter. [SPEAKER_01]: But we broke this up the way we did with Cold Open's were last week's episode was breakups in seasons one through three and today we're going to talk about breakups seasons four through seven. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Even a little bit the revival.

[SPEAKER_01]: Just a little bit. [SPEAKER_01]: Just a touch, just a touch on the revival. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But let's talk about season four. [SPEAKER_01]: Before we get started, I just really don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: I have some construction going on outside my apartment right now. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you guys hear some stuff, so sorry, our editor is a magician, but I don't know.

[SPEAKER_01]: She'll be able to get me to that. [SPEAKER_00]: So it was like in the marvelous episode when I had long people just suddenly decide to come in the middle of the day when they had never come that day before. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, yeah, it happens. [SPEAKER_01]: So starting with season four, let's start with Luke and Nicole the first time.

[SPEAKER_01]: This breakup happens between seasons three and four, but we find out about it in the season four episode one premiere when Laura and Luke are packing up Luke's truck to get worry to Yale. [SPEAKER_01]: And it comes to a lot of pulling and crying. [SPEAKER_01]: Luke doesn't want to talk about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: He does not want to talk about this. [SPEAKER_01]: No, Suki was like, yes, something happened on the mo. [SPEAKER_00]: We get from Sue Gear earlier that he like did not want to talk about this trip, but what's funny is like we don't hear about the breakup We hear about that they got married and that they are now breaking out.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're now getting divorced Yeah, so it's like we hear about their their marriage and then they're break up, which like good riddance Yeah, but of course, it's not full riddance [SPEAKER_01]: The next one on my list is Paris and Jamie. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love Paris, but this was absolutely tragic.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is actually one of the harder ones. [SPEAKER_01]: This was some buffoonary, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Cause like in the last episode, we were talking about ones that you would like hate to be a part of, like how you would react if you were in it. [SPEAKER_00]: The Luke and Nicole won, I like actually don't know who I would be on that end of it, but I definitely wouldn't come back later.

[SPEAKER_00]: And be like, actually, we should try and make this work. [SPEAKER_01]: Here's what I'll say, is that I understand her logic when she does come back to reconcile. [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, we broke up because we got married too soon. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm realized we made a mistake, but like, we didn't break up because we actually didn't want to be with each other anymore.

[SPEAKER_01]: We just realized that we got married too fast. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, like, to an extent, but it's like, I think that I would approach that of like, yeah, let's get to force and then day. [SPEAKER_00]: She's a lawyer though so maybe that was like more economical to just if you're going to stay together might as well just stay together and you know but ultimately Paris and Jamie and Nicole and Luke ending they kind of end for the same reason and that is that they like kind of physical out because one of them is cheating [SPEAKER_00]: But Paris is, I think, as, like, one of the worst ones, though we don't give Paris that, like, same sort of, like, the troll that we give Rory, like, even though Paris did it first.

[SPEAKER_00]: And, like, it was worse. [SPEAKER_00]: It was his birthday, like, flashback to Rachel. [SPEAKER_01]: all of this was so tragic. [SPEAKER_01]: She refuses to see him when they had plans for him to come. [SPEAKER_01]: She like gas lights him and is like, I'm sure I told you to just pencil this in and it's like, no, you have plans to come there for his birthday.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's birthday. [SPEAKER_01]: Blame it on lane. [SPEAKER_01]: Say she's chasing the dragon. [SPEAKER_01]: What's that mean? [SPEAKER_01]: Chasing the dragon. [SPEAKER_01]: What does that mean? [SPEAKER_01]: Don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: Not sure. [SPEAKER_01]: Still have no idea. [SPEAKER_01]: One of our besties wrote in and said Paris breaking up with poor sweet vanilla Jamie lives rent free in my mind as a horror film.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, it's poor sweet, so much. [SPEAKER_00]: She knew, but like, isn't that vanilla nice flavor sometimes? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm having a vanilla year this year. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, and I'm obsessed, I will say Paris, talking about Asher. [SPEAKER_00]: He was like, he orders vanilla.

[SPEAKER_00]: He orders first. [SPEAKER_01]: He orders first. [SPEAKER_01]: Old person, old person ice cream. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, just like laying out the facts of what happened between Jamie and Paris. [SPEAKER_01]: She refuses to see him. [SPEAKER_01]: She gas lights him. [SPEAKER_01]: She breaks up with him over the phone.

[SPEAKER_01]: She doesn't even have the gumption to do it in person. [SPEAKER_01]: She very cavalierly treats the relationship as if it's just another thing on her to do less to break up with this man. [SPEAKER_01]: When he is the first boyfriend she ever had, she lost her virginity to him. [SPEAKER_01]: That was a big deal to her.

[SPEAKER_01]: She had a conversation about it with Rory in season 3 and that will be she's breaking up the joke. [SPEAKER_01]: And also she had that conversation with the public. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And that was a very monumental thing for her. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it was a very monumental relationship and for her to treat it with such callousness.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, [SPEAKER_00]: but would you feel as bad if he hadn't met with Rory?

[SPEAKER_00]: And then like, it's my birthday, by the way, like that whole conversation that you have, if feels like the knife is just like he's just pushing him further and further, because I think if it all happened over the phone and we weren't really seeing Jamie, I think I'd be like, oh, like that's not a good way to treat your boyfriend, like, especially because you're having an affair with a professor.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing, on top of all of this, like it's bad enough that she's wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: You wouldn't see him, you like told him you barely had plans when clearly he made the trip to come out here. [SPEAKER_01]: You break up with him over the phone, on top of that, you're cheating on him.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're having an affair with a scissor and then also it's his birthday. [SPEAKER_00]: It's his birthday. [SPEAKER_00]: But I think seeing his face and seeing him in that moment, it's like, it's my birthday. [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, [SPEAKER_00]: Jane, we didn't have to tell us, but like, and now I feel horrible.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel awful. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel terrible. [SPEAKER_01]: It's really tough. [SPEAKER_01]: And I love Paris as a character. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that we give her more grace because she's so honest with you about who she is and about the things that she does. [SPEAKER_01]: But this was bad.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what is it that she says when it's something it's not when when you're out you're not when you're not you're not that's how I know that was that's with the oil No, no, that's only bringing up with him I thought that was okay never mind that was that's later on with the oil They're never you they're actually getting together.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was like is always a system no [SPEAKER_00]: But it just, like, so like, we're done. [SPEAKER_00]: Lori said something like she even mentions to Jamie. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, Lori said this and it's like, Paris, but we never see that man again. [SPEAKER_00]: And like, honestly, he was so nice to her.

[SPEAKER_00]: And like, really saw her beyond that exterior that she just, like, used against him. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that was one, one that I would be like, the most excruciating pain in to be a part of. [SPEAKER_01]: I completely agree. [SPEAKER_01]: This is one, especially if I were in college.

[SPEAKER_01]: If I was any age, this would wreck me. [SPEAKER_01]: If I was Jamie, this would absolutely wreck me. [SPEAKER_00]: On your birthday, you go to all my birthday on my birthday. [SPEAKER_01]: And she knows it's his birthday. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, or maybe she doesn't remember, honestly. [SPEAKER_00]: She barely remember that he was going to be there.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, and it's just, yeah, and we kind of like let it go and we let her have it. [SPEAKER_00]: But like that's a, that's one of the worst ones. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to like, I completely agree with you. [SPEAKER_01]: And as much as I don't love the relationship between Luke and Nicole, even the reconciliation, because here's the thing, is that talking about these breakups that I may have said this in the last episode makes me want to talk about reconciliation's in courtship, because the more chip of Jamie and Paris is so cute.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the best. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's maybe why it's so hard that like that happened between them, because they were so cute together. [SPEAKER_01]: They were, they really were, [SPEAKER_01]: and then we have a breakup part two with them. [SPEAKER_01]: As much as I don't like their relationship, but I think that as I said in the Blonde or Bad episode, Nicole is kind of flavorless chicken.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is a very lukewarm, no pun intended relationship. [SPEAKER_00]: luke cold, really. [SPEAKER_01]: But I do think that the way that Amy wrote both breakups, the first time and the second time, was very creative and very brilliant. [SPEAKER_01]: The first being, we like on a whim, got married.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're getting divorced, we broke up. [SPEAKER_01]: They reconcile. [SPEAKER_01]: They get back together and the way that he finds out that Nicole's cheating on him is because he's not wearing his socks. [SPEAKER_01]: I am. [SPEAKER_01]: And that is the conversation with Laura and I love it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I talked about this when we covered the episode. [SPEAKER_01]: It is so creative, so brilliant. [SPEAKER_01]: I have no notes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's giving, you're really gonna leave me with my suitcase in May's oil, like it's just, I love that. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: I had a moment like that the other day, my mom and I have very similar socks, but I put them on and I said these aren't my socks and I said to myself, I am not wearing my socks.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just because that's like a that sticks out to you, but it's just so hard because she's cheating. [SPEAKER_00]: And then he goes there and he beats up the car and he gets arrested and he goes to jail. [SPEAKER_00]: And then he comes back to try to do it again. [SPEAKER_00]: All the while she's up there with the man in like the townhouse that they bought together.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like that one's messy for as like messy and complicated and like logistical like legally they're attached. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like so like night and day in terms of like the actual breakup. [SPEAKER_00]: What is it, mailboxes, et cetera, or the post, the postal? [SPEAKER_01]: No mailboxes, et cetera, because is where he gets divorced, because that's what Laura Lace says.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can't get divorced in a mailboxes, et cetera. [SPEAKER_00]: I always think that's what you say. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like a sign mailboxes, but yeah, but it's just, there's no fanfare. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just like, boom, done, gone, done. [SPEAKER_01]: Bye, bye Nicole. [SPEAKER_00]: But like, I think the thing is, with that one, I will say.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not great to beat up someone's car and then get arrested and not be wearing your own socks. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a bad feeling. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not, but, you know, from experience. [SPEAKER_00]: I know from experience, it's not fun to be not wearing your socks. [SPEAKER_00]: Did I continue wearing them?

[SPEAKER_00]: I did, though, because I knew that they were my moms. [SPEAKER_00]: They were some other man's socks. [SPEAKER_00]: But I think that the Paris and Jamie have it is easier because I mean harder because he just wanted to be with Laura Like Luke gets divorced from Nicole and he's like great.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah to be with Laura right now. [SPEAKER_00]: And like we Yeah, he sees her face love like we see that in retrospect, but like it's not that hard for him because like he is moving on to something better Hopefully same with Jamie. [SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully Jamie found a really nice Princeton girl who just was like [SPEAKER_00]: Sweet and kind, and maybe it's as intense as Paris, but it was never going to cheat on him with the professor, but I think that's why the Paris one is harder because technically she's in the same spot.

[SPEAKER_00]: They break up and she's with Asher, but like worse? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, worse. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I hope Jamie found a nice girl. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess it would be kind of like if we were watching the Cole show and like invested in like her in that guy that she was cheating with and then Luke was kind of like the sad finale loser guy that we were really sad about.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I guess so. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, because the thing is is that we were rooting for Rory to go with just. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I guess we were. [SPEAKER_00]: Aren't the Cole and Rory the same? [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, pull right now. [SPEAKER_00]: Are Nicole and Rory the same? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, like, in this moment, I can make an argument for it. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, you can? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we've compared Dean and Luke for being like, you know, big small tomboy, having a bit of a temper.

[SPEAKER_01]: Cause he and Nicole used to get in big old fights. [SPEAKER_01]: We saw the two of them fighting outside of Luke's diner and upstairs are coming downstairs and them yelling at each other. [SPEAKER_01]: And we know that Dean has a bit of a temper on him. [SPEAKER_01]: And so if we were watching the Nicole show, would we be rooting for her to leave?

[SPEAKER_00]: What's Nicole's last name? [SPEAKER_00]: Leahy. [SPEAKER_00]: Leahy. [SPEAKER_00]: Leahy ladies. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Leahy ladies. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think it would depend on how cute the guy is that she's cheating on the quick.

[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously. [SPEAKER_01]: Like honestly, I think with television, we're like how cute she is. [SPEAKER_00]: Like if Rory was interested in Brad Langford and that's who she was leaving Dean for. [SPEAKER_00]: I think I would feel less inclined than when my live end to Amelia and his Dorito body come on the scene.

[SPEAKER_00]: that like I'm like you know I'm just like and he is new you know what I mean it's just like hard when like my event Amelia walks on the scene and you're like well I guess I do have a boyfriend that's true but I don't have to you know what I mean so that's kind of for me [SPEAKER_00]: But maybe this other guy's great.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's less about that. [SPEAKER_01]: It's obviously more about the cheating. [SPEAKER_01]: It's so interesting how we handle it. [SPEAKER_01]: So we talked about this in super cool cheating people, which we did almost four years ago. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'd love to revisit that episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: Wow. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: But we talk about Rory. [SPEAKER_01]: We talk about Nicole. [SPEAKER_01]: We talk about Paris. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, we view all of their, obviously there are circumstances are all different. [SPEAKER_01]: Their indiscretions are measured differently.

[SPEAKER_01]: They are, but I think kind of how we feel about them. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: We don't feel great about her because no we don't like her. [SPEAKER_00]: No, okay, so I don't really like her and that's like really the difference between her and worry Is I like worry so like no there are a lot of people out there that don't my answer the poll is no, but like I feel like this is why our YouTube comments are really great because you guys can like [SPEAKER_00]: respond to us right now and we won't message you back and maybe we'll get into a comment more about this you and me if you feel like Nicole and Marie are the same but like I don't know I'm defending Nicole now all of the sudden and what I'm about to say but like in the lady ladies version where you're watching Nicole's life play out I don't think that Luke is a very good match for her and it's quite difficult to know like as Nicole that like

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he loves that girl in that town that he lives with. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, he is obsessed with her and you kind of have to live with it. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm his wife, but like, that's who has him and that's like not fair. [SPEAKER_00]: That's like just not a fair way to be in a relationship.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, to be fair, I am the one that came and said I don't want to get a divorce. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to try and make this work. [SPEAKER_00]: But like, the effort that he has put forth is kind of minimal. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I know that he bought the townhouse and he's going through the motions of this.

[SPEAKER_00]: But it's like, I'm just someone he's going through the motions with. [SPEAKER_00]: Is it right to cheat? [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: But like is this other guy maybe being a lot more attentive to who she is and what she deserves? [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_00]: And so like maybe, maybe Luke is the loser boyfriend and the scenario.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_00]: Of like he's too attached to Laura lie to actually be a good partner to her. [SPEAKER_00]: which is not a reason to cheat. [SPEAKER_00]: No, and that will always be the echo part of it. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, but I do wonder with Luke, if he truly, because of course after, so we've got tick tick tick boom after boom and then Luke can see her face.

[SPEAKER_01]: And amidst all of this is kind of when Luke and Nicole split and as we're about to talk about, Laura line Jason split up. [SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know that Luke was necessarily holding a tort. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think he was holding a torch for lower life, but I don't know that he actively was thinking that until Luke can see her face and he was like, whoa, I need to take the initiative and just like, no, I think in my mind when I like mentioned that, it's more so that like, I don't feel bad for Luke for too long because it's like, [SPEAKER_01]: course because he's about to be with the love of his life.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I'm with you. [SPEAKER_01]: But I do feel for Jamie. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully Jamie found the love of his life very soon after. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, speaking of keeping secrets, doing things behind your partners back. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about panel and lot.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about Richard Gilmore and Emily Gilmore and the fall of these two because as I mentioned, tick tick tick boom. [SPEAKER_01]: is when everything collapses on lower line Jason's head, Richard and his business, everything kind of who comes to a head with them, but that also brings Emily into the equation where everything comes to a head between her and Richard that we've been building towards since Ted Couples big night out when she finds out that he has been having lunch with panel in lot once a year since they got married.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, every time it's set out loud, I'm like, Richard, I know. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh my god, you know what's funny in my list of like breakups here. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't write Emily and Richard down because like, they do, they separate. [SPEAKER_00]: And so like, in my mind, I'm like, you guys aren't broken up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, please, you guys literally have insane mouth still. [SPEAKER_01]: But she worked with another man. [SPEAKER_01]: They are Brooklyn. [SPEAKER_00]: It's time to clean. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm in the claim that she's in five. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And he says, hello, she said, hello, just in the plane.

[SPEAKER_00]: I used your line. [SPEAKER_00]: That's my line. [SPEAKER_00]: Hello. [SPEAKER_01]: But after boom is an episode kind of a break-ups. [SPEAKER_01]: It's when we see Richard and Emily kind of have this moment. [SPEAKER_01]: After Laura like comes to Richard and is like, do you really have to sue him?

[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, yeah, why don't you care about this family? [SPEAKER_01]: And Emily goes to him. [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, do you really need to do this? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, we've lost her before you really. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, with losing her again, and that's her final straw, because in that episode we're in Laura Lyraev to Friday night dinner.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's absolute chaos at the Gilmore House because they have separated and then they don't know yet how to operate with the separation being under wraps and them trying to still keep up appearances. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is when Laura light discovers that Emily is leaving with her dry cleaning or coming in with her dry cleaning something.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Laura [SPEAKER_01]: And then she goes to Jason, they meet at the coffee shop where ironically she got together with Anne broke up with Max Medina in season more. [SPEAKER_01]: they sit at this coffee shop and she's telling him all about this. [SPEAKER_01]: So we go from the Richard and Emily separation immediately into this conversation with Jason, we're Jason says I'm suing your father and Laura like says I can't be with someone who's suing my family and she walks.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which is always so do I agree with that? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that Laura like would like be just fine being with someone who's suing her family, but that's not either her or not there. [SPEAKER_00]: She says she can't. [SPEAKER_00]: It would have been very interesting drama.

[SPEAKER_00]: It would have been, but I think they were, I don't know, maybe they were just over it. [SPEAKER_00]: They were like, no, that's not what we're going with that. [SPEAKER_01]: No, they needed, they needed Luke and Laura like to get together. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because the end of season four, they had to do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we were like, they were like, oh, Jason, sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: We have morals now. [SPEAKER_00]: We have to, you have to go. [SPEAKER_00]: We have family loyalty now. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I think that with the Emily and Richard one, that one's always so hard because it's so slow because it's like you get the pendulum a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then Richard's mom dies and you think things are kind of going to be okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Because Emily, of course, has a huge fallout from that learning that grand row and that letter the night before their wedding and then kept the carbon. [SPEAKER_00]: But after that, at the reception, after the funeral, you think, like, oh, they have this, like, connection.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is going to be okay. [SPEAKER_00]: But then as you continue on, it's not. [SPEAKER_00]: And then, of course, like, after boom, she doesn't know anything about anything that Floyd Styles brings up when he reveals when he does the villainous reveal of everything. [SPEAKER_00]: I fried in a dinner.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that one's just so hard because that one feels like a slow leaking of betrayal which like that just like hurt so much more to like have it happen like have that feeling of like being unsettled in your relationship for so long until you're finally just like [SPEAKER_00]: We we can't do this anymore.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go someplace else like that one's hard because like you want them to work so bad of course So here's my question for you. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you consider their breakup to be after boom or do you consider their breakup to be in season five episode one [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to Europe Richard.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: No, I actually think it's when... [SPEAKER_00]: I think there's no definitive. [SPEAKER_00]: There's definitely a mark of kind of when things start, and it's definitely with Penalyn. [SPEAKER_00]: But I honestly think it's until they get back together. [SPEAKER_00]: There's just too much between the two of them that feels like...

[SPEAKER_00]: It's almost like a continuous separation until they come back together. [SPEAKER_00]: But you don't feel like they have a definitive... [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I guess they can break up. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess it's season five episode 22, [SPEAKER_00]: I've not five season four episode 22 when they're at the dragonfly test run and Emily comes out and she's like very honest about it It's kind of like when it's out in the open because Laura has like shoved them into like [SPEAKER_00]: the sweet together where they can't do anything, but be together, and it's horrible.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that may be coming clean to the girls. [SPEAKER_01]: That's in season five episode one, and she says something. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's why I'm having a difficult time because I'm technically an after boom, she leaves and goes to hotel, check out date and definite.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it's not until like they really have this confrontation after the test run at the dragonfly in, that Miss Maam is like, I'm going to Europe and then you're into the pull house. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's like the really definitive, like drawing the map of what's going to happen here.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that, but it's hard because the season finale of four Emily gets mad at Laura life, and she says, you know, in the room to your father and I are separated. [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, she does say it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I guess after boom, I think it's like the whole end of season four is them separating.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then it just continues the fallout of it continues into five. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's like, [SPEAKER_00]: several episodes long. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think I would say after boom because it is when she's like, I can't do this anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: I have to go. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, she can even be in the same house as this band.

[SPEAKER_01]: That is like, we are separating because up until now, we were having our problems, but we were still a united front or so I thought and we are not anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: So I have to go. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And I do also think that in season five episode one, when Richard says to her like, you are not the woman I married.

[SPEAKER_01]: She goes, you're right Richard. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not the woman you married. [SPEAKER_00]: And like that feels also kind of like a, oh, there's like several like real cutting moments that and I think it's when she actually goes and say somewhere else when she tells Laura lie and then when they have that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Big blow up where she's climbing out the window and that just all feels, you know, because they're like when they actually physically separate from the pool house in the house, there's like there's lots of stages to their separation. [SPEAKER_01]: But after Boom does feel kind of like the beginning, yeah, which is fascinating because that's also when Jason and Laura light break up.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that feels pretty definitive to me because when he comes back in ringcoats and recipes, the finale of season four, [SPEAKER_00]: he says to Laura like what she's like we broke up he's like oh I didn't see it that way I thought it was just taking some time and it's so worry go more of him it's so worry go more of him I was about to say that like Jason like did you either the worry go more school of breakups like what is this you don't just decide side one day like yeah that that was enough time we're back together now like I think I liked Jason up until [SPEAKER_00]: that moment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I liked that, like they broke up, like I felt really bad for Jason admittedly, like in that moment, I think that the Jason, I don't compare Jason to Jamie necessarily in terms of circumstances, but just in the pain of it of like you asked your job, your father fucked you over, your business partner fucked you over and now I was going to sue you or you're trying to sue him, and now because of it, you've lost your girl.

[SPEAKER_00]: All in one fell swoop, you have absolutely nothing now, [SPEAKER_00]: What you're gonna do with your life and with what's this name Cyrus his dog? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know like how we're gonna feed the dog. [SPEAKER_00]: Not sure. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it's I think that's so hard But when he comes back, I'm like, okay, this is a desperate man who What are you?

[SPEAKER_00]: What are you gonna do? [SPEAKER_00]: The way that it transpires like the Jason being there and the Gilmour's coming in and Him being like they have a room [SPEAKER_00]: And I could take their room like that whole thing is quite funny, but I think I'm just kind of over Jason at that point that I'm like, come on, listen to her, do what she's asking you to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't just, you're not fighting for her here. [SPEAKER_00]: You're being annoying. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I do agree. [SPEAKER_01]: I think he had real deep feelings for her. [SPEAKER_01]: I think the talk is so too. [SPEAKER_01]: Proves that as well. [SPEAKER_01]: But I think he had genuine feelings for her and losing her was really, really hard for him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's it's quite hard to like feel too much for him because you have to look at it like that's why I say like when they broke up in the coffee shop and then when he comes and just shows up at the dragonfly at that point or like oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, but we're rooting for Luke you walked into this thing and like we we know you're sad.

[SPEAKER_00]: We know that you have deep feelings for this one, but like, no, no, no, we can see the her love interest in the background and you're ruining this so any feelings I had for you now, sorry, the main characters behind you, and you've got it go, whoops, oh, if you'd come like five episodes sooner, oh, you know [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, or even just one, even just one before the dance, but yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, man. [SPEAKER_00]: Imagine Jason and Laura lie dancing to reflecting like I can't actually I can't because I have to imagine it but I wouldn't want to know me either And that is the end of Jason styles. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean I do think that actually we do we do in the revival, but yeah, I do like that they are like [SPEAKER_01]: You know, they have this breakup in after boom and you think it's lost.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to see if him. [SPEAKER_01]: And I do like that they bring him back. [SPEAKER_01]: What a jump scare. [SPEAKER_00]: Which is between the last of me vibes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, totally. [SPEAKER_01]: But that is the end. [SPEAKER_01]: And really the end is Sukey talking to Laura Lyon.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's in five episode one when she's like, what happened to Jason? [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, oh, his condo was on fire. [SPEAKER_01]: What? [SPEAKER_01]: No, that's just what I told him. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he called him and he just disappeared. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he came into the bathroom and then that was it.

[SPEAKER_00]: What is it? [SPEAKER_00]: The Lord, I says, the room where legends die. [SPEAKER_00]: And characters, I guess. [SPEAKER_00]: And characters, while we're character. [SPEAKER_00]: And he got were Jason got retired. [SPEAKER_00]: He also did edition now. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: That was a good jersey.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I think that one's hard until he comes back. [SPEAKER_00]: And at that point, I'm like, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: You've outstate your welcome. [SPEAKER_00]: Bye. [SPEAKER_00]: But if I was Jason, I think that I don't know that I would come to the test run, but like I would be really distraught for that very much, so definitely.

[SPEAKER_01]: I would at least want to be Jamie or Jason, yes, agreed. [SPEAKER_01]: So does that put it in monumental territory? [SPEAKER_00]: For the monumental, is definitely Emily Richard. [SPEAKER_00]: I think so, too. [SPEAKER_00]: That's so monumental. [SPEAKER_00]: The thing is is like, Jamie and Jason, I wouldn't want to be either of them, but they don't feel particularly monumental.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like Paris like it doesn't even if it feels like a blip on her radar like it's it's more something that we feel so deeply about like as just people seeing this happen, but I don't it doesn't feel monumental to her. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the Jason one may be honorable mention because they're the circumstances of it surround Emily in Richard, but it doesn't feel that on its tough because they are like very, very creative, well thought out, explosive kind of breakups here, but yeah, I guess I don't I'd really just put Emily in Richard.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's last. [SPEAKER_00]: The other ones though, um, um, that Jamie one hurt. [SPEAKER_00]: That Jamie one said would by making a painless. [SPEAKER_00]: The Jamie is pretty high up there. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_00]: And like Luke and Nicole. [SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of explosive break-ups though, let's move into season five because the one we're hit with immediately is in episode two, I'm asking you nothing more, and it is Gene and Lindsay's breakup where she is just absolutely hurling his stuff out the window. [SPEAKER_01]: And what I find interesting about this, and I don't think this was done on purpose, is that the hockey stick being thrown out the window, Lindsay throwing that out the window, excellent.

[SPEAKER_01]: When that was our introduction to her was at the hockey game, [SPEAKER_01]: is so stupid because I love it to be on purpose. [SPEAKER_01]: So symbolic of he did rivalry if you well, absolutely. [SPEAKER_01]: And boy was it heated because she gave it to him and I was cheering her on the whole way.

[SPEAKER_01]: You get him the business girl. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: I think like that one is so hard to be ill and see, but like boy did she deserve every part of what happened there. [SPEAKER_00]: She absolutely deserved to throw everything of his out onto the front lawn while all of stars hollow watched.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I honestly, she deserved to have her mom yell at where we go more in the street. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll say it. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, Ms. Lister, was it Theresa Lister? [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: Good job. [SPEAKER_00]: I would have done the same to Ms. where we go more. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, you just, you just got to sometimes.

[SPEAKER_00]: And she's embarrassed. [SPEAKER_00]: Lindsay's embarrassed. [SPEAKER_00]: She's definitely doesn't want to be a part of this. [SPEAKER_00]: But like, I think that there's a part of her that's like, good. [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks, Mom. [SPEAKER_00]: And I appreciate that about her. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, she's a real one.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm with Laura Lye when she calls her a little monster. [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, okay, like, we're in pain. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, I love that. [SPEAKER_01]: Back off. [SPEAKER_01]: But I appreciate that Laura Lye's like, okay, pull back lady. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is my kid, I understand.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because did Rory deserve that? [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, however, I hope the Theresa said the same exact thing to Dean. [SPEAKER_01]: Because Dean is actually the one that she did on her daughter. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's like, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I understand that worry caused a lot of pain in participating in this.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I really hope you find your son-in-law, ex-son-in-law, accountable. [SPEAKER_01]: Because she's like, I hope you're happy. [SPEAKER_01]: Dean's back with his parents, like, a new and your daughter can go to hell. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, she's treating her, like, she's the one who ruined this marriage.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, no, the man in the relationship. [SPEAKER_01]: No, it was actually married to your daughter. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: not yet to say worries blaneless we've talked about it up down sideways backwards and forwards again absolutely involvement but yeah and i think the yelling is more so i feel happy for lancy in her yes her gosh yeah so like like i do like that someone calls worry out on this like it happens to be solicitors quite agree just [SPEAKER_01]: But, well, yeah, what's interesting, and maybe this is something we should talk about in a separate episode, the way that Laura lie, I don't want to say shame's worry after sleeping with Dean, but I'm just going to put that word on it.

[SPEAKER_01]: The way that she's kind of like, he's married. [SPEAKER_01]: What are you doing? [SPEAKER_01]: No, we want to talk about it. [SPEAKER_01]: We want to do like a scene. [SPEAKER_01]: We want to do a scene break down at that moment. [SPEAKER_01]: But I want to compare it up against Theresa's engagement.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, of worry, go more. [SPEAKER_01]: because obviously it's coming from a protective place with her own daughter, but it definitely makes you wonder about the parenting styles of these moms and how they approach each other. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, how they approach things. [SPEAKER_00]: Can I tell you, I don't think that Theresa Lister did that to Dean.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think the whole little clan was like, oh, Roy, go more. [SPEAKER_00]: And Lindsay's like, nope, Dean. [SPEAKER_01]: Dean. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because Lindsay is just broken when she runs into Roy and Laura. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: She's just like, pointy head down, poor thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: And she almost turns into like a little girl again. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, and yeah, mom is screaming at the girl. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, they both are down on the road. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because we're on the road. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, both do. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the same thing. [SPEAKER_01]: I very, it's a mom, be mom.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just mom. [SPEAKER_01]: which I thought was very clever of Amy. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, from a writing perspective, I do quite like that one. [SPEAKER_00]: That, like, in terms of breakups, I'm like, very big, very traumatic, but being Lindsay. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Hard. [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't want to be Lindsay, and in the next episode, I also wouldn't want to be Paris, and our next breakup.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was just about to ask if we felt like the death of Ashraf Laming was considered a breakup. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're not together anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: They sure aren't. [SPEAKER_01]: He's, he's no longer here with us, so we can't be together. [SPEAKER_00]: Or I see her boyfriend forever.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, maybe, is that, are those the rules? [SPEAKER_00]: Don't know, but I would call it breakup. [SPEAKER_00]: I actually would call it the worst breakup. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the worst way to break up, I think. [SPEAKER_00]: I think so too. [SPEAKER_01]: Bummer, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Poor Paris.

[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't even put an under monumental though, but I would put an under painful, definitely. [SPEAKER_01]: Would you consider Dean and Lindsey breaking up monumental? [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But I do find it interesting that instead of having Paris break up with Asher, they kill his character off.

[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't like, we're gonna have this moment where they split up in between, you know, seasons four and five over the summer, she realizes, because they kind of tinker with this idea of her breaking up with him in season four when she says he likes phenylize, he likes old ice cream, old people flavor, vanilla, you know, and she ends up coming around once she sees him not in the hospital, [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, no, you're not so old.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so they tinker with this idea of her breaking up with him because he's quote-unquote too old. [SPEAKER_01]: Only for them to not go in that direction and he in fact dies at quite a young age in the series. [SPEAKER_01]: He's like 60. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: That is not old.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's only because Worry says it. [SPEAKER_01]: She's talking about him in conjunction to Richard. [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, he went to school with grandma. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I actually am quite glad they kind of just like let that fade off the way that it did because I like with the intention that they do with Paris and Doyle in Season 5.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't want Paris to be like broken by like an older man who didn't want to be with her anymore or like had a new flavor or something and like it make her angry. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that it's soft and Paris in an interesting way. [SPEAKER_00]: And like the confusion of his wake and all of that I thought was like a nice So button to that episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like I think that that was like the best way to have gone about it for Paris Because what I would love to see Paris suffer a breakup post breaking up with her boyfriend for this guy Yeah, I would have actually but I think that first service of Paris praises character I think that it needed to happen like this which is quite sad [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry it is sad for sure you made fun of you know that they man of course out of flare of comedy to it was which they always do but yeah I think that Paris's hand unfortunately needed to be forced here.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to say she would have married Ashur by any stretch of imagination but if the relationship ever fizzled out and he did in fact continue his pattern of dating like [SPEAKER_01]: his students and essentially dumped Paris or she broke up with him because she felt like he was too old.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think it would have been, there would have been more pining there. [SPEAKER_01]: There's grief there for sure and she moves through it. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's different. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a very different kind of grief. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a different kind of grief than we ever really see on the show because with Emily and Richard, when that eventually happens any year in the life, [SPEAKER_01]: also very different.

[SPEAKER_00]: So very, very anecdotal. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, like all of her funerals and stars hollow. [SPEAKER_00]: And like admittedly Asher kind of feels like an anecdote too. [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's kind of just like a punchline, um, like a Marty punchline and like the whole thing about the printing press.

[SPEAKER_00]: And like, yes, I think it adds some interesting flavor into Paris's storyline to like get back out there and and it's up being the toil is the one who's out there for her, which I love that relationship. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's good. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, [SPEAKER_01]: So moving into one of the most monumental in season five, not the most I don't think, but one of is the final break up between Jean and Bri in the parties over.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, kind of like, thank God. [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: Because like, that's like barely a breakup. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a very unspoken breakup. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's spoken, but it's just spoke. [SPEAKER_01]: I did, I just spoke it. [SPEAKER_01]: But I just mean to say, like, it's a very um...

[SPEAKER_01]: It's implied. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't belong here. [SPEAKER_01]: Do I? [SPEAKER_01]: Do I? [SPEAKER_01]: 15. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's it. [SPEAKER_01]: And then they could be again. [SPEAKER_01]: they never speak again. [SPEAKER_01]: A very interesting way to send Dean off.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad it was short-lived their relationship because in written in the stars, which is when Paris reveals to where they go back to school, we all know the episode, Asher Passaway. [SPEAKER_01]: This is when she meets Logan, Marty asks her, do you have the boyfriend? [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, oh no, and then she goes, no, and he goes, okay, I feel like that's something you should know.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, yeah, [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but she, she goes to me and then they seemingly reconcile at the end when he invites her into his parents' house and then we have episode four, five, six, seven, where they, well, and then this is episode eight, where they, [SPEAKER_01]: Break up, so it's very, very short-lived, and thank God because even episode 6 and 7, which are Norma Miller and pregnant, and you jump by jump jack, the relationship with Dean is already like starting to fade in the background for a Gilmore's life.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's a little bit of a slow burn, not in the same way as Emily and Richard, but like you can already see the cracks in the relationship before it gets started. [SPEAKER_01]: So by the time we do tip a canoe in Taylor too, with the election and D not wanting to rub anything in Lindsay's face and we get [SPEAKER_01]: Pipi Virgin with the pop-it, you know, there's already turmoil there are already cracks in the foundation.

[SPEAKER_01]: So by the time it starts to fade away in episode 6 and 7 and Logan is just like, yeah, Dean is fading and Logan is rising with the power, the best, the best thing that could possibly happen. [SPEAKER_01]: But like it becomes power spades of, yeah, Logan's power has become, you know, he takes his tall energy [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it does become a voicemail relationship in episode seven in YouTube.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: That's hard too, but like, I think that it makes sense. [SPEAKER_00]: I was actually talking, there's a good one to read episode coming up with Sasha Payton Smith. [SPEAKER_00]: And like how it just makes sense, unfortunately, that she reaches back for Dean at the end of four because like her life feels kind of like uncertain.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so like, she's going back to what she says in the revival, that he was safe and stable, whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: He didn't have a wife. [SPEAKER_00]: So like, that's not the right person to choose, but like it just makes sense that they broke up. [SPEAKER_00]: Like he was not fit in her life.

[SPEAKER_01]: They did not belong together, but do you think that the reason he realizes that he doesn't belong in her life is because he did read the article he read everything she wrote about these people and here she is coming out of a party with all of them. [SPEAKER_00]: I like to believe that he didn't read it when she asked him, but then he read it after and then got there and was like, I don't belong here.

[SPEAKER_01]: because it's it's it seems so random otherwise me've always talked about it's so random we do have to imply a lot there we do because it's not like he was invited back to the Gilmore's house the way that Luke was in you jump item jack that's where this party happened is because [SPEAKER_00]: They heard that she was back with seeing the like, nope, nope, abortal.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's not even invited over here. [SPEAKER_01]: We're just going to get him out of here. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's not even like he was invited over the way that Luke was dressed down the way he was in season two episode one by Richard. [SPEAKER_01]: And comes to this realization of like we come from two completely different worlds, you know, do we see Dean come to Yale?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because it's I think it's in it's in episode four because the printing process there. [SPEAKER_01]: Paris is talking about the casting press and he knocks on the door and she pulls where to the side She's like, what are you doing? [SPEAKER_01]: Why is this man? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's pretty nice. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just there's nothing that I think that has transpired in their relationship To make him feel like he doesn't fit in that he's not good enough that like she has a world beyond him Which is kind of what he's implying when he says I don't belong here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do I? [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, when she says Dean, the answer is, no, no, no, no, you don't. [SPEAKER_00]: And he does fit in her small world, but like, her small town world. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why immediately I was like, smallville, um, she doesn't fit, it doesn't fit in smallville either.

[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't fit into the Yale world into, like, her parent, her grandparents world. [SPEAKER_00]: And so, [SPEAKER_00]: It makes sense to us. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it makes sense to the characters, but I think that's a good idea. [SPEAKER_00]: Either way. [SPEAKER_00]: Bye, Dean. [SPEAKER_00]: Bye, Dean.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bye, Dean. [SPEAKER_00]: I literally wrote down. [SPEAKER_00]: I said, Dean break up three. [SPEAKER_00]: Finally, God. [SPEAKER_01]: Finally, God, him. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that this is considered monumental? [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's monumental because, like, it's tougher. [SPEAKER_00]: The party's over and so is Dean.

[SPEAKER_00]: So is Dean. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the real party that's over, thankfully. [SPEAKER_00]: The true party just begun. [SPEAKER_00]: Logan just gained his powers. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I think it's monumental. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's the most monumental of the season. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not because the most monumental breakup of season five.

[SPEAKER_01]: is Laura Lyon Luke. [SPEAKER_01]: And this in our question box was the most answered breakup from our besties was like, what is the most monumental notable breakup from Gilmore Girls? [SPEAKER_01]: And it was Luke and Laura Ly specifically the first time. [SPEAKER_01]: He's in five. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that given the heft of storyline behind it, that everyone can get on board with, because I feel like in season six, no one can get on board with April, and no one likes why they're breaking up, and like in season five, no one likes that they are breaking up, but like it feels like we can kind of see the path a little bit more clearly, [SPEAKER_00]: that like this is kind of where they had to go because of like the Emily of it all, we don't necessarily agree that Luke would have been quite so afraid of all of the Gilmore like drama because he seemed to be kind of prepped for it, but I think that because we kind of understood where it was coming from, I think that this one just feels so much more dramatic and so like bigger to us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think differently from the season six breakup, there's so much build up towards it. [SPEAKER_01]: Like Emily and Richard at the beginning of this season, we saw this coming for all of season, most of season four, the second half of season four, and similarly with Luke and Laura, when they break up at the end of season six, we see it coming for the latter half of season six to the point where when Laura light issues that will to make him to him, it's like girl, we get it.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're tired. [SPEAKER_01]: You can't do this anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: And we understand. [SPEAKER_01]: So, with this breakup in Season 5, it's a little more anxiety-inducing. [SPEAKER_01]: I've talked about this a lot when we talked about this episode in revisited, and when we watched it again in rewatch club, because this is just so devastating for Loroi.

[SPEAKER_01]: She had no control over what Emily did, what Christopher did. [SPEAKER_01]: She's trying to diffuse the situation. [SPEAKER_01]: Did she have control over whether or not she told Luke about going over and having the tequila night with Chris? [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think regardless of the tequila night, I think the tequila night added insult to injury. [SPEAKER_01]: But I think that would, yes, it did. [SPEAKER_01]: But regardless, I do think that Luke would have been very affected by everything that was going on. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think we always knew it's going to be temporary regardless if if you're watching it live or if like you rewatching it it just feels temporary because like got you just got this girl Yeah, you just got this girl and now we're gonna be the reason you break up Please yeah, he is really upset about it [SPEAKER_00]: immediately.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like he has to live with it. [SPEAKER_00]: Like when he comes back over because she called and he came over and it's like you'd want to just sob into your pillow over the back. [SPEAKER_00]: He's so worried about her. [SPEAKER_00]: I think in that moment, if she was like, I don't want to break up.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he would have said the same. [SPEAKER_00]: I think in that moment there was that option, but before like was so distraught, so embarrassed had been going through this so much and desperately wanted to be with him. [SPEAKER_00]: She was like, I'm not going to be your crazy person in your life anymore.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, actually, we really wanted you to be that, but okay, so I actually think they could have gotten back to the other then, but like the episodes after until they finally do reconcile is excellent and I think that like we have a very controversial opinion that their reconciliation case in season five is better than there.

[SPEAKER_00]: first kiss and season four because it just so it just feels like where we came from was so exciting until present I think it's so much different for like four seasons to watch some try and get together and then kiss and then kind of have this drama and be like right on but yeah I think that that one's like monumental disaster is because like they just got together and now Lucas the reason that they're gonna like not stay together because he won't hear her out because he won't listen to her it's really hard to watch [SPEAKER_00]: It's hard to listen to her.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard both sides. [SPEAKER_01]: She's so desperate for him to just have a conversation with her and hear her out. [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, I feel like if we can just sit down and talk about this, you will understand what happened and where I'm coming from and everything will be fine.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he just is like, I can't do that. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm good. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm done. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I think compared to this one, so like this one versus all the other ones, is there another one that feels equally hard on both sides? [SPEAKER_00]: Like being either person, I find it very difficult to be in this breakup and be in this, like kind of pedering out of this relationship.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is there another one that you feel like you would really not want to be on either side? [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Ashra Paris, but like, than that, yeah, would be either of them. [SPEAKER_01]: What it wanna be dead? [SPEAKER_01]: What it wanna be the one who spouse or partner died, [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that a break-up that was just as hard to be like both people was Lurely Max like I thought about that, but like Lurely knew it was right the only other one I think is Dean and Marie when they break up in they shoot Gilmore's don't die I think that she she felt bad, but she gets to be a just now she does but like [SPEAKER_00]: She feels still feels bad over her, but she still feels horrible.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't think it aligns as much, though, with the Luke and Moralite, and he's in five one. [SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like it both sides of that hurt. [SPEAKER_00]: I think the only one that I wouldn't want to be either person was Henry and Lane, because I'm like, Henry, just like, really, like, he's up against something so difficult here, because he likes a scroll, but like, this is just a lot, but Lane, [SPEAKER_00]: I would want to be laying so like I can't even compare that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like that just doesn't even feel the same so it just feels like nothing feels as difficult as this one on either side Yeah, that's fair. [SPEAKER_01]: I guess I guess the only one where I'm I'm now thinking of it from an angle of like there's still so much love on both ends of this and Yet they for whatever reason feel like they can't be together as Emily and Richard [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the only other one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it's like there's so much betrayal and pain there that it's like that one's so hard. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I mean, yeah, almost equally because like there's no like definitive split. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh my gosh, our lives have been so intertwined for so long that like we can barely even like not live in the same house anymore.

[SPEAKER_00]: You kind of use to live on our property. [SPEAKER_01]: But the only reason I said Lorelei and Max to start is because I wouldn't want to be either of them. [SPEAKER_01]: Ending a relationship like that is Lorelei did hard. [SPEAKER_01]: Having to be able to receiving end of that hard, it's just...

[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't be because she knew it was the right thing. [SPEAKER_00]: This is not the only thing. [SPEAKER_00]: She did. [SPEAKER_00]: It's true. [SPEAKER_00]: Because like Luke did, I don't think Luke thought that was the right thing. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just what he felt like he had to do.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why I think that part of the reason he does it is because he thinks that this is the only solution. [SPEAKER_00]: Which I don't think is necessarily the right thing. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just like this is where he feels like he's stuck and like this is like pushing it away because Luke cannot deal with his feelings whatsoever.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I like by the end of that episode I think he regrets it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I think he does too. [SPEAKER_00]: It's really tough. [SPEAKER_01]: It's really, really sad. [SPEAKER_01]: And I would say this is the most monumental breakup of season five. [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely. [SPEAKER_01]: But we did say that all of these were monumental breakups. [SPEAKER_01]: All three of the relationships that end. [SPEAKER_01]: Dean and Linda's breakup. [SPEAKER_01]: Dean and Lori's breakup. [SPEAKER_01]: And then Laura and Luke's breakup. [SPEAKER_01]: All very monumental.

[SPEAKER_00]: I would say the Lorelei and Luke are like the pinnacle, like an absolute lie, of the art of season five, of the three, but yeah, I would say they're all monumental to the series. [SPEAKER_01]: So moving into season six, the first one I have is Rory and Logan, the first time. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I see this one, I put that had a bigger impact on Logan than it did on Roy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cause Roy was kind of just like, we took a break. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, she almost feels like I was kind of tired of you. [SPEAKER_00]: And then like when I set you down, you were still my boyfriend. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, to her, like, [SPEAKER_00]: just like it felt like apathetic almost. [SPEAKER_00]: She was way more focused on getting things right with her mom, that by the time she realized that her relationship was over, she was like felt so dejected about it, but it's like, for free, human talk to this guy in months, and it's like really the way that he comes back to her.

[SPEAKER_00]: that really shows how much impacted him that she just seems angry, more so than anything else. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I get that. [SPEAKER_00]: Because I think her hurt is delayed until Bride's made through visited when she goes to Honors Wedding. [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's such like a slow burn sort of pain that she doesn't realize that she's going to feel yet.

[SPEAKER_00]: But it's like that immediate sort of breakup. [SPEAKER_00]: It just kind of feels like it kind of just feels her fire to like continue on this path that she's on totally. [SPEAKER_00]: She just kind of said him to the side. [SPEAKER_00]: She's kind of like, I'm irritated at you. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to talk to you right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: And a month passed. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, wait, you're not my boyfriend anymore. [SPEAKER_00]: That's like, I'm always like, what? [SPEAKER_01]: What? [SPEAKER_01]: like when on her calls I'm like okay of course both of you should have communicated something along these lines because I was going to say like Logan doesn't communicate to her that they're broken up and that part is a little but if you're in a relationship you guys get in a fight and then you have it spoken in a month yeah I'm assuming this relationship is over but I would be very offended that that person didn't have the respect or bravery to tell me themselves [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but like why have I I think it's like on both ends of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just like you guys were actually dumb. [SPEAKER_00]: Like yeah he didn't say anything to you. [SPEAKER_00]: You didn't say anything to him. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just always like you guys might even have in here. [SPEAKER_00]: I know this is on both of you, but yeah for being bad communicators.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like the whole like we were on a break like Ross and Rachel thing. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like here. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, I don't even know what you guys were because you weren't together, but like, yeah, it was being honest and right. [SPEAKER_00]: One person can't be in a relationship.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Like you can't you can't separate from a month and be like, yeah, that's cool. [SPEAKER_01]: But what do you think about the breakup itself in Balakas? [SPEAKER_01]: Do you consider that a breakup? [SPEAKER_01]: I would take that as a breakup. [SPEAKER_01]: Me too. [SPEAKER_01]: Like I fully would.

[SPEAKER_01]: Unless I heard from them the next day and they were like, hey, I know we got into a fight last night. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm really sorry about that. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: But like, that was a breakup. [SPEAKER_00]: That was a breakup. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you necessarily have to end the conversation with we're broken up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think it was very clear. [SPEAKER_00]: Like when he says do whatever you want to true choice. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm taking that as like, oh, like I think that Rory's the delusional one and that and thinking that they were still together. [SPEAKER_00]: Like the idea of like him reaching out to her would have been very respectful of their relationship, but I think that Rory's the delusional one at the end of that thinking that they were still together after that fight.

[SPEAKER_01]: After that big fight, maybe in the immediate aftermath, thinking like, okay, we just got into a really big fight. [SPEAKER_01]: But then after not hearing from that person, the very next day, I'm thinking, we broke up. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if it's not the next day, or even the very next day, even the day after, but like, if you don't like it, by that person within the week, y'all are broken up.

[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I do understand the sentiment of I wish you would have at least had the courtesy to be like, hey, I know we got into that fight last night. [SPEAKER_01]: I just think this isn't working. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, let's just call us beta spade. [SPEAKER_01]: You would hope. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: To be fair, his first relationship, sure. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's the only defense I have and that other than the fact that it seems quite obvious, you know, it kind of seems like something you don't to learn, but I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel that fight to me feels we're not gonna talk again.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I wouldn't want to be either of them. [SPEAKER_00]: No, but I kind of would like to be both of them. [SPEAKER_01]: In the sense that I would like to yell at both of them. [SPEAKER_01]: So when they do end up breaking up the second time with the bridesmaids, which they do actually.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's such a blip, but she does say to Paris that they're broken up. [SPEAKER_01]: She said Logan and I broke up tonight too. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, okay, she just says I'll be right around to get my stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she does call it a breakup to Paris. [SPEAKER_01]: She does say to Logan, like, I'm coming by tomorrow to get my stuff.

[SPEAKER_01]: Don't be at the apartment because I'm leaving, we're bringing up. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, there was a part of me that was like, these were short-lived, would we consider them breakups? [SPEAKER_01]: I still would. [SPEAKER_01]: For both Paris and Doyle and Rian Logan. [SPEAKER_00]: Paris and Doyles is quite funny, like there's just seems like the it's so childish just the the opposite of Rory and Logan just to just to have something funny going on just have a button there just have some sense of humor while Rory and Logan are going to whatever [SPEAKER_00]: It does feel a little bit Luke and Laura lie where like Rory doesn't want to like listen to it like to what he has to say in like but in a very different way because like what he did was very different.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that the real betrayal from Logan here is letting her walk into that, which we've talked about many a time, definitely. [SPEAKER_00]: I think the thing for me in this break-up is that they get back together and they shouldn't have if Rory was going to act so we should [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you should have stayed broken up with him, because we've talked about this many, many times you and me on this podcast.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a variety of forms, whether it be on Gilmore Re visited or here on the pod or in a Gilmore to consider some engines. [SPEAKER_01]: I do think, and especially after watching it with Brighton, having him be like, you don't do that, meaning Logan, like, [SPEAKER_01]: When you guys are broken up and you just like go and sleep with a bunch of people and then expect that your girlfriend is going to be fine with that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yes, maybe it's not a true when worry says you cheat not me. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he did. [SPEAKER_01]: However, it can still feel like a betrayal in the sense that you're like, I was grieving our breakup. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like going through the motions and you just stumbled into bed with people.

[SPEAKER_01]: We all agree in different ways. [SPEAKER_01]: I would be deeply, deeply, deeply hurt by that. [SPEAKER_00]: I would be more upset about the wedding situation. [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's like what happened when we were a part happened when we were a part, but the fact that you let me now go into this situation where everything that happened when we were a part is there.

[SPEAKER_01]: it's the combination of those two things. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like you, I've said this before that it's Olivia Rodrigo, you didn't cheat, but you're still a trader in the sense that like not only did you sleep with all of these women and like that was how you chose to cope with us, no longer being a couple, you let me walk into a space, whether you thought it was going to be the full wedding or what ended up happening, which was me getting pulled into a room, [SPEAKER_01]: with honor and all of her bridesmaids through your sister's friends and you just like let me walk into lines then without without without protection whatever it's that part of it that I'm like.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, you didn't think that I should know or you didn't think at any point you weren't going to be with me and that these like literal Vipers as you call them weren't going to come for me like We're gonna say anything when she like kind of like negates the breakup and gets back together with him I'm like no, no breakup just you're kind of more accountable for the first one And you did for the second one [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: You held him more accountable for the fact that he didn't tell you you were broken up then for him sleeping with these women and then letting you just walk into a room with them. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, without telling you. [SPEAKER_00]: She held him more accountable but then she really punished him for the rest of the season until he literally almost dies, like actually almost dies.

[SPEAKER_00]: I always think that's really Ikki the way she goes about that. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like if you're going to be mad, be mad. [SPEAKER_00]: If you were going, if you want to break up with this guy, break up with this guy. [SPEAKER_00]: But like also you're going to kiss Jess in the meantime.

[SPEAKER_00]: you should be broken up. [SPEAKER_00]: You should be broken up. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's quite hard. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't love worries relationship choices in season six, but I think of the two of them if one of them is going to be monumental. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the Roy and Logan, the first one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I think that that has more impact on the story and the way that like the direction that they go in, it definitely sends Rory into like back into the path that she supposed to be in. [SPEAKER_00]: It kind of sends Logan into this like spiral that actually never ends, where he ends up obsessed with Rory again more for the rest of the series and to the revival and like can never quit her.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then I think that moment was kind of like monumental and key for them [SPEAKER_00]: Just break up. [SPEAKER_00]: I just break up. [SPEAKER_01]: Just break up. [SPEAKER_01]: I will say that what makes it a little iconic is Paris is dressing down of Logan, but that's very interesting to do with.

[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't know. [SPEAKER_00]: But like we can put that one high on a shelf somewhere within this episode, just for no reason whatsoever. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, that like I'm just like guys. [SPEAKER_00]: I agree. [SPEAKER_00]: I love his little speech that he gives, but like at the same time I'm like just [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely, just say no, just be like, no, I'm not ready, but instead she's just like, okay, and I do think it's because he kind of talks her back into it.

[SPEAKER_01]: He kind of talks her out of being mad with him or mad at him or other, and I don't think he's gaslighting her the way a lot of you in the fandom have said that he is, I don't agree with that. [SPEAKER_01]: I think he's being truthful when he says, I did not think that we were together. [SPEAKER_01]: So I do not like the issue was I cheated.

[SPEAKER_01]: I did not really [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like that was what he was arguing against and that's why I don't think it was gaslighting. [SPEAKER_01]: I think she then says okay you didn't cheat on me so therefore I can't be mad and I shouldn't just know how to feel yeah and she should have just allowed herself to be mad just because it didn't fall under the technical [SPEAKER_01]: parameters of what you say.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you can still be upset. [SPEAKER_00]: Actually no one could talk me out of being mad. [SPEAKER_00]: Like if someone is if Logan is telling this to me and like I didn't cheat on you. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's list the other things while I'm angry like why this is so mad.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Point you. [SPEAKER_00]: Here's let me take away the rest of your points. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what you mean? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's like totally. [SPEAKER_00]: I like worries far better than me here. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe worse because like if I'm angry about [SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to talk me out of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, like you can't talk her way out of being me being mad at you. [SPEAKER_00]: We've got to take some time and she just let it simmer and kind of was a bit about it, like very rude to him. [SPEAKER_00]: Like if you're going to get back together and you're not going to talk to him about anything but you're just going to give him this rude silent treatment and kind of like be me into him in front of everyone.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, is that really the best way to go about this? [SPEAKER_00]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: No, I agree with you. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: But speaking of people making poor relationship choices, it looks like it's talk about Lane and Zack. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god. [SPEAKER_00]: Like that's another one that I'm just like, I would hate to be Lane in that situation.

[SPEAKER_01]: I would too. [SPEAKER_01]: I would hate to be Lane. [SPEAKER_01]: He just really out of... [SPEAKER_01]: I want to say out of nowhere, we've never really been a huge fan of Zach leading up to this point at all. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, the only time we really are fans of Zach are in season three, four when he's Brian's best friend and in season seven when Amy's not actually writing him.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think that regardless of those things, this does kind of come out of left field. [SPEAKER_01]: All of a sudden, he's being this, like he's mad at his best friend. [SPEAKER_01]: He's getting this Gwen Stefani Mike because he needs to be in [SPEAKER_01]: I wrote the Gwen Stefani breakup.

[SPEAKER_01]: Literally. [SPEAKER_01]: He's always been a little ego-tistical. [SPEAKER_01]: This should have been just like one in Gavin. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Or just like Gwen. [SPEAKER_01]: Just like one in Gavin period. [SPEAKER_01]: But he's always been a little ego-tistical. [SPEAKER_01]: He's always been self-absorbed and pompous.

[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen strokes of that, but not to this degree. [SPEAKER_01]: So I don't want to say it's completely out of character, but it is no. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: The out of left field for lane for him to be behaving like this. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like you care about the band, you care about the band succeeding because you're an eager test.

[SPEAKER_01]: So what are you doing here? [SPEAKER_01]: And you get so up in arms about the fact that Brian wrote a song about lane, but you wouldn't even write a song about lane. [SPEAKER_01]: It's written right a song about lane. [SPEAKER_01]: about your own girlfriend. [SPEAKER_00]: The actual breakup, though, is quite, it's like a kind of just like a side effect, a consequence of everything else, because it's really the band.

[SPEAKER_00]: He like brings on, uh, when it's the same Joel with the tambourine who we stand, we love him, he like gets into a fight with guilt and like mad at Brian, and he's tearing the band apart, and as a result, it ruins their relationship. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that that's what's so sad about the breakup is like it's not even like between laying and Zach themselves.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like Zach ruins the band. [SPEAKER_00]: And therefore it ruins laying in Zach. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just like a pie product of the situation. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, oh. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just such a bummer because when Lane is like, what happened out there tonight? [SPEAKER_01]: He's just like, I don't know, maybe this is why, like this is what it is.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is maybe why people in pension date. [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, yeah, I guess so. [SPEAKER_00]: Like in it, he almost means them being together for why this harness outburst. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like my guy. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it never resolved in a meaningful way like it's resolved with the proposal.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean like the band part of it because like it's a band break up and a relationship break up and it's like when he goes back to Brian and Gill. [SPEAKER_00]: It kind of feels like but like the real reasons why this happened you said you brought like part of this is like reason the band was breaking up is because like people in band shouldn't date like so and it was like such a throwaway line for them to break up, but [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: That one feels as monumental as a side-care to break-up can feel. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel like it's hugely monumental to the whole storyline, but A is quite sad for Laine. [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't want to be late in that, because not only have I lost my band, my passion, mama, was it music is my passion, which he says that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And she loses her boyfriend. [SPEAKER_00]: Which is good for it. [SPEAKER_00]: Because like, oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And I really wish it would have stayed that way. [SPEAKER_01]: But she says you really let me down tonight, and that is the most heartbreaking thing for Lane. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, Lane's been let down a lot of ways in her life.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so for me to be like, this is what it is you and me. [SPEAKER_01]: This is why people in Banschon date is like, what? [SPEAKER_01]: I just, my heart really, really hurts for her. [SPEAKER_01]: I do love what this does to her relationship with her mom because her mom is like, the way that she sits her down, like pulls all the, all the, we know shades down and covers up all the curtains and pulls the alcohol down and is like, all right, we're sad.

[SPEAKER_01]: And now we move on. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just, she says, we move on and take you to the two of them. [SPEAKER_00]: So I like that. [SPEAKER_00]: I like that. [SPEAKER_00]: It allows for like a very good opening for them. [SPEAKER_00]: But like, if feels monumental for lean storyline, but like indefinitely for all, I would put it like as an honourable mention, monumental.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Painful. [SPEAKER_01]: And speaking of painful, then we get the big gehuna, which is Laura Lyon Luke, the second time in the street in partying. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: They love to break out outside of the house. [SPEAKER_00]: First at the grocery store, next outside of the diner, you know.

[SPEAKER_00]: This one, yeah, this felt like it was coming for a long, long time. [SPEAKER_00]: It's monumental because of just what it does to the whole series, to the two of them, to everything that they both wanted. [SPEAKER_00]: But we saw it in my loft. [SPEAKER_00]: And then when she talked to Jan from the office, we knew it was done done done.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was nothing really more that Luke could do because [SPEAKER_00]: All of the damage had already been done, there was so much to fix that wasn't really being prioritized. [SPEAKER_00]: This is another breakup that we've talked about quite a bit, but it's just some marvelous scene.

[SPEAKER_00]: This scene is just one of my favorites in the whole show, the way that it's written, the way that it's acted. [SPEAKER_00]: This is one of those moments that we'll talk about later this year that [SPEAKER_00]: And so it's just monumental in its effect and impact on the show, and just because like, oh, it's in the street.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like calling back to like teach me to night when they're yelling at each other, but like now it's about the two of them. [SPEAKER_00]: But it's harder. [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's harder for people to get behind it. [SPEAKER_00]: Not that you necessarily want to get behind a breakup of two people that you want to be [SPEAKER_00]: But I feel like the season five when you're like, oh my gosh, but you guys if you just like talked about this and you talked about this you guys could just get back together and be totally fine.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but in season six you're like, oh well, yeah, if you talked about this and you have to talk about this and this is already broken and this is already damaged and you've already done this and you've already said this and like you guys were supposed to get married and now you're not and it's like, oh Anna said Anna said you weren't supposed to talk to Anna like [SPEAKER_00]: There's just too much to it that feels broken.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think they had to break up. [SPEAKER_00]: They had to. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there was no getting past this and I don't know if Amy would have written the follow-up to this being Luke showing up at lower-rise doorstep with a hacked car ready to go and get an actually a loop and get married just for her to have to really put the nail in the coffin by telling him that she slept with Christopher.

[SPEAKER_00]: We, you're so right. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to talk about the reconciliation so bad because like, this is what I know. [SPEAKER_00]: We have to just talk about the breakup. [SPEAKER_00]: But like, yeah, you're so right. [SPEAKER_01]: It is interesting that like I view partings that that episode is titled Partings for a reason.

[SPEAKER_01]: because this is the partying of Luke and Laura live. [SPEAKER_01]: But I find it interesting that Luke also kind of went to the Riko more school of breakups when he shows up and he's like, let's go, we've got to stop it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, we've earned that school. [SPEAKER_01]: It's true.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have to know more. [SPEAKER_01]: Why are they even taking applications at this point? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, God. [SPEAKER_01]: But I do think. [SPEAKER_01]: What Luke says in season one where he's like, no, you can't just decide we're broken up. [SPEAKER_01]: We like I'm in this relationship to season seven episode one season seven episode one is very Interesting because he kind of makes the decision for them to break up in season five and lower life has no saying it and now here where the tables have turned and she's like, no, it's over.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was over last night and he's like, no, you can't just say that that's not how this works and she's like, okay, well, I slept with Christopher or so. [SPEAKER_01]: That's in an attempt to get him to stop fighting for this. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why she tells him. [SPEAKER_01]: She never, she doesn't want him to know.

[SPEAKER_01]: She doesn't want him to find out, but she tells him so that he'll stop trying. [SPEAKER_01]: And though I do think partings is the true breakup season seven. [SPEAKER_01]: It really does carry into season seven episode one. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like that is we are done. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like you're late.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's already happened. [SPEAKER_00]: It's happened last season. [SPEAKER_00]: Are you doing here? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you missed the memo. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: In terms of breakups, do you wish that partings was a true partings and that Logan and worry would have broken up, too?

[SPEAKER_00]: On his own. [SPEAKER_01]: No, I like that partings means different things in the context of both the narrative and the writing of the show and the writers of the show, exactly, because I think that Laura Lyon loop breaking up didn't feel, I mean, with the build-up to the end of season six felt like the obvious move.

[SPEAKER_01]: But there was a world in which she said, let's go, and he said, okay, and they went and got married. [SPEAKER_01]: With a Logan and Rory, I do think it was a more obvious move, per speaks to this in season seven, episode one, that they break up because he's moving to London. [SPEAKER_01]: But they choose to stay together, and it's so fascinating to me that the two people who are miles [SPEAKER_01]: Countries apart are the ones staying together and the two people in the small town that are like five feet away from each other I didn't be closer.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, so I like that. [SPEAKER_01]: They don't break up [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but as we move into season seven, of course. [SPEAKER_00]: That's actually how they're really. [SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say, the table's very much turned at the end of season seven. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, how the turn tables.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, how the turn tables. [SPEAKER_01]: So speaking of season seven, I think that one of the most monumental breakups may be not the most, but one of is Loreline Christopher. [SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, I think that it's a breakup that [SPEAKER_01]: spans the entire series, not just in seven.

[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, like we talk about these breakups with a lot of caveats because the writers had to part in it. [SPEAKER_00]: Because it's a part of this season seven. [SPEAKER_01]: But with Laura Lying Christopher, I do feel like this breakup. [SPEAKER_01]: If this was the direction they were going to choose to take their relationship and the show and Ultimately it was for the two of them to get back together and for them to get married and for us to see that like their relationship Truly doesn't work even though we've always known that this entire time You know someone who's watching it with fresh eyes like Brett was did say like I think that maybe at the end of it all Laurel and Christopher might end up together and that's the show.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, yeah, it was always building that's a moment [SPEAKER_01]: And that's our show. [SPEAKER_01]: And Luke and Laura live were always meant to be friends. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad that that that's not where they took this. [SPEAKER_01]: But I think that this is an angle that the writers of season seven felt they had to explore in some way.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if Amy would have done that. [SPEAKER_01]: But regardless, is what it is. [SPEAKER_01]: This breakup is monumental because it has been building since season one. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, since Christopher turns. [SPEAKER_01]: Because these two have gotten together and broken up so many times, even if it's in such small, my new ways.

[SPEAKER_01]: Even if it's just as small as in Christopher returns, them sleeping together and him being like, I want to marry you and her being like, absolutely not. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not happening. [SPEAKER_01]: That is, in one sense, not a true breakup, but to them feels like it. [SPEAKER_00]: It just feels like rejecting.

[SPEAKER_01]: Cycle. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because they've been in like presenting more like Gilmore when they kiss and he's like, I'm with someone and you're like, great cool And you get in this season too and you're like, oh, she's pregnant cool He comes back to her in season three. [SPEAKER_00]: He wants to be with her.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are you getting married? [SPEAKER_00]: Sherry? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm not doing this. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like a cycle and so I think that this conversation when she says to him, I want you to be the man I want to want like you're the man I want to want so many ones [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to know that you're the man I want to want, but he's not. [SPEAKER_01]: She doesn't. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the true Laura Lyle, like seasons one through six, I don't think she would feel that way. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that Chris is the man she wants to want. [SPEAKER_00]: like I don't, I don't even think she even kind of wants to want him.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do think though in the season seven circumstances, sure that they got married, that all of this happened, that this was terrible, but all of these demands are offering her everything that that Luke wasn't able to in the latter half of season six. [SPEAKER_01]: For the matter, yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but that is an alternate universe.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but still offering her that same just like anger surrounding their relationship in security really like you're in with a really insecure partner and I I just I can't even get about to curse you know I mean it's monumental because it's like this is it they're done like this is acknowledged in the revival which a lot of season seven isn't that like [SPEAKER_00]: this happened, this didn't work out, they're divorced, and sorry, Chris was barely acknowledged in the revival.

[SPEAKER_00]: Done. [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, it's monumental in that sense, but I'm just so like, I think God, you know, best breakups in my book, like, put them up there. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank God. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But it is monumental, you know, to the series. [SPEAKER_01]: And once that are less monumental, but just kind of like, okay, by Marty and Lucy, [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, he even read it down.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it was just kind of like, all right. [SPEAKER_01]: We don't even see it. [SPEAKER_01]: It is a weird blip. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a really weird way to dodge it to the storyline. [SPEAKER_01]: And one that is not necessarily like a throw away in the sense of characters. [SPEAKER_01]: But when Paris and Doyle break up again, and he just decides that they're not good at break up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the blip, so them. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And I do love that he's like, we're not bringing up. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going with you wherever you go, where you lead, I will follow. [SPEAKER_00]: And you don't have to say the way I will follow because Logan says the same thing to Rory and then he takes it back.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, where I lead, you should also come to. [SPEAKER_00]: And if you go somewhere else, I won't go there. [SPEAKER_01]: The other thing song is the other girl. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, song. [SPEAKER_01]: Somehow missed. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, on that topic, the most between Laura Lyon Christopher and Logan and Rory.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean these are the two most monumental breakups. [SPEAKER_01]: So season seven. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Logan and Rory breaking [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, gosh. [SPEAKER_00]: We just rewatched that in the rewatch club and like it didn't feel any better than the day that I watched it back in 2007.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just hard. [SPEAKER_00]: It's hard for teenage me to like look at that because like as we watched it, I like couldn't even take it seriously because if I took it seriously, like I would feel that same heartbreak that I felt. [SPEAKER_00]: in 2007, like that was just so, that was almost 20 years ago.

[SPEAKER_00]: Next year, that'll be 20 years, like, which isn't sane. [SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: I still remember exactly how that felt, and I have to make fun of it. [SPEAKER_00]: And I have to make fun of it in part because it's just so poorly done. [SPEAKER_00]: Like you take these two characters and you rip them apart and you rip them out of the like character that they've built thus far and we just don't think that's how they would act But regardless of what we think it's like they're breaking up and face somewhere Logan has been in season seven.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're like I get it, Rory [SPEAKER_00]: It hurts, it hurts for the team Logan and me, but like, God, leave them. [SPEAKER_00]: When he says, what's the point? [SPEAKER_00]: We said this and rewatch club. [SPEAKER_01]: It was like saying, mean what's the point? [SPEAKER_00]: What do you, if you are trying to say, the point is like, if you have to ask the question of like, why should we continue this relationship in a way that, like, isn't exactly how I saw it going?

[SPEAKER_00]: If you have to ask what's the point, it's time to go. [SPEAKER_00]: because like, what's the point? [SPEAKER_00]: The fact that she didn't answer it, she's a lot stronger than I am. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it hurt to give that ring back. [SPEAKER_00]: It was big. [SPEAKER_00]: What a diamond story.

[SPEAKER_00]: Could have paid for you under what that diamond. [SPEAKER_00]: That's true. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, that one's that one's what's the point. [SPEAKER_00]: I think in that one, it is like hard to be on both sides of it, but I think that Logan dug his own grave. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah for sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: And like I would hate to be worried. [SPEAKER_00]: I would hate to like in the same way of Jamie being broken up with on his birthday. [SPEAKER_00]: Getting broken up with on the day that you graduate from college which was like exactly what everyone wanted you to do from the moment that the series started was like you were going to go to an Ivy League and you were going to graduate and have this big life.

[SPEAKER_00]: And like and [SPEAKER_00]: your boyfriend decides what's the point from you in a lot of ways. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, speaking to breakups where I wouldn't want to be either person. [SPEAKER_01]: This is one of them. [SPEAKER_00]: It is, I see Logan side of it. [SPEAKER_00]: But like, at the same time, yeah, what's the point?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: What's the point of you? [SPEAKER_00]: Get out of [SPEAKER_00]: You're going to get rid of someone else? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to get you. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I wouldn't want to be Lorelei or Chris either. [SPEAKER_00]: No, same, same. [SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm more so wouldn't want to be Lorelei Logan because they've just been in a good place for so long.

[SPEAKER_00]: This, I feel more blindsided by this. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel blindsided by the beginning of the life of this relationship than I feel like blindsided by the end of this. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, totally. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's hard. [SPEAKER_00]: What's the point? [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a punch for sure.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But Brett said this in his episode. [SPEAKER_01]: He definitely said this to me behind the scenes. [SPEAKER_01]: He was really proud of Ray for he did. [SPEAKER_01]: He did. [SPEAKER_00]: He did. [SPEAKER_00]: He did. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: To her guns and saying no, because when Logan gives her that ultimatum, that could feel really tempting to say like, okay, well, if the if the choice is marry, you were not be with you at all.

[SPEAKER_01]: I guess we're going to get married because I don't want to break up with you. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's an old loop very exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: It would be very tempting to do that because I just would want to lose that person. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that if I'm Rory and I'm like as dedicated to this relationship as I have been for two and half seasons now because that's how we measure our lives of course.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what I would do. [SPEAKER_00]: I would like to think that based on his recent behavior, I'd be like, [SPEAKER_00]: Have you seen yourself lately? [SPEAKER_01]: Go back to last couple episodes between us because you kind of have been drunk and went to bed with your shoes on while I was making you a sandwich.

[SPEAKER_01]: I actually think I would have broken up with him after that. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, you think your marriage material and you put your shoes in my bed, you came home drunk at two in the morning after not talking to me. [SPEAKER_01]: You woke me up out of a dead sleep trying to make a sandwich abandoned the sandwich when I started making it for you and then you gotten to bed with your shoes on from the States of New York City.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, in the smallest man who ever lived by Taylor Swift. [SPEAKER_00]: Remember when we were in LA and I used to keep saying, did you sleep with the gun under anything? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, you were like, no, I didn't. [SPEAKER_00]: Like literally just walk around the hotel rooms, singing that there.

[SPEAKER_00]: But it she had not heard that time. [SPEAKER_00]: But I think that sleeping in your shoes, [SPEAKER_00]: in our bed together would be worse, like I thought would be, we were a clean, that would be way worse than saving with the gun in the other bed. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow, like maybe not, maybe not, but like just like in sentiment, like I'm just thinking of the song of like her thinking of like all the worse things that you could have been doing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Did you sleep with your shoes on underneath our covers? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah exactly underneath our sheets. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's that's pretty high up there. [SPEAKER_00]: That's quite treacherous, quite crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: It's true. [SPEAKER_00]: And I wouldn't call Logan the smallest man who ever lived, but like certainly not the largest, you know, not the tallest.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, no. [SPEAKER_00]: But maybe not the smallest. [SPEAKER_01]: No, not the smallest. [SPEAKER_01]: And hilariously tall. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, big small town boy. [SPEAKER_01]: Big small town boy. [SPEAKER_00]: Tall small. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Tall small town boy. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: What are your honorable mentions for a year in the life? [SPEAKER_01]: Because I didn't really write any down. [SPEAKER_01]: I know that we have some breakups there, but they don't feel as monumental as the ones in the original series. [SPEAKER_00]: With the exception of where we log in, but that feels monumental and just in the sense that you're like, you guys aren't together, and then like when they do break up, you're like, okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is monumental in the fact that this needed to happen. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't think that there's another breakup throughout the Sierra other than Laura and Chris, of course, in season seven that like, when it happens, I'm like, okay, absolutely, this is what need to happen. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Dean and Lori, but yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: that one needed to have a stuck the second time. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's like when this one happens, you're like, oh, God, yes. [SPEAKER_00]: So again, he basically, I need the cheating ones. [SPEAKER_00]: Totally. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's not them off. [SPEAKER_00]: But like Dean worry, lower like Chris, but worry and Logan breaking up in their vival needed to happen more so than any of them, because even more than worry and dean, because worry and dean were breaking up after he had already left his wife.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that, for all intents and purposes, you guys could have stayed together, whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: But Logan is still engaged to be married to this woman. [SPEAKER_01]: And Rory has a boyfriend, which we talked about this, the breakup between Paul and Rory happens in the last [SPEAKER_01]: minute of it actually really really yeah it kind of taints the moment because it's just Laura Lainbury and I wish we could have just ended that some other time not in this moment winter before it started any of those.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, I wish it didn't happen at all, but if we were going to end this relationship, especially in a text message, which is probably the only relationship in Gilmore Girls' ends in a text message, I think because of the time, because of the era, I think let's not do it more more about to drop this and the show.

[SPEAKER_01]: The lack of a better term, monumental final scene. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that kind of like when we rewatch that with the rewatch club. [SPEAKER_00]: That really took me out of the moment. [SPEAKER_00]: Then doing that, I was like, oh, he broke up with you. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank God.

[SPEAKER_00]: He did it too. [SPEAKER_00]: You've been waiting a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: Where's your spine, Paul? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, where has it been? [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, that one was kind of like me. [SPEAKER_00]: Paris and Doyle being divorced was kind of just a surprise. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that it was necessarily monumental.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I think just the Roy and Logan breakup was monumental because you're like, [SPEAKER_00]: And that's right. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's right, that's what needs to happen in need of to happen. [SPEAKER_01]: And the way that it happens, it's kind of unspoken between the two of them, they're like, okay, let's do this.

[SPEAKER_01]: She indicates it. [SPEAKER_01]: He says, okay, he doesn't want it. [SPEAKER_01]: No, he doesn't want to be with his other fiance, it seems like. [SPEAKER_01]: No, we've said this before that if a Briegelmore said the word, he would drop everything and be with her. [SPEAKER_01]: I think.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, she doesn't say anywhere, and he drops everything to come to stars all of us. [SPEAKER_00]: So, that's true. [SPEAKER_00]: Just imagine if she's said words, I would say that's the most monumental there, just because it's the only one that really feels significant. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree.

[SPEAKER_01]: And those are the breakups of Gilmore Girls. [SPEAKER_01]: Let us move away, Miss Toney. [SPEAKER_01]: Or if we didn't touch on one that you were like, I was really dying to hear you guys talk about to really analyze the text message between Paul and Roy. [SPEAKER_00]: And no, we got it.

[SPEAKER_00]: We got the gist, what's good. [SPEAKER_00]: He nailed all of the points. [SPEAKER_00]: Or if there's anything that like you disagree with that like you're like, no, that was way bigger than you guys or you guys made a way bigger deal out of that like brilliant, we're going to you should have stayed together.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know your life. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what you have going on, but this is why we like the YouTube comments because like we can respond a lot longer. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it feels like we can have a conversation. [SPEAKER_00]: So feel free to go on to the voice mail, but if you want to type it out because maybe you have a chance on YouTube.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I won't add her, but someone at one of our events mentioned that she did contour of, we smell after she had been drinking some wine. [SPEAKER_00]: And like, I love the idea that people would drunk dial our, oh, I love it. [SPEAKER_00]: That's like, I love it. [SPEAKER_00]: I am obsessed.

[SPEAKER_00]: I would love, like, an episode of like, people who drunk dialed. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but we wouldn't know unless you like told us later. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh, yeah, that was me. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: I had been drinking a lot of wine. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I think I remember that and she was like, please don't ever play it again.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I truly wouldn't have known you were drunk if you didn't know. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Love it though. [SPEAKER_00]: Love. [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to do a Gilmore to consider on speaking out. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're going to do a Gilmore to consider on Thursday.

[SPEAKER_01]: So if you have any thoughts, call in. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to talk about we wanted you kind of like a roundup of the things that we talked about this month, but we're definitely going to zero in on the blonde or bad because you have a lot of opinions and thoughts and things to say about those girlies.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, both blonde and both bad. [SPEAKER_01]: Very true. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's Easter this weekend and we thought it was a really good opportunity to talk [SPEAKER_01]: Easter eggs on Gilmore Girls. [SPEAKER_01]: And we don't mean the ones that Kirk found. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, we're talking more about like a poster you see in the background or a line that's written in the show that feels like it pays homage to the actors, the story of Gilmore Girls, the Paladino's themselves, we're going to mind all of those and break them down.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll have more to say on that in the next episode.
