[SPEAKER_00]: I can't believe it's happening. [SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's starting to feel real. [SPEAKER_00]: So as we record this, I'm getting married next Saturday but if you're listening to this, I'm getting married this Saturday. [SPEAKER_00]: And if you're listening to it live.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: If you're listening to it in the future out there. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, love you're listening to this after October 24th. [SPEAKER_01]: She is a wife now. [SPEAKER_00]: Right now she is just still Tara. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just still Tara. [SPEAKER_00]: Just true.
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they asked me so we got [SPEAKER_00]: License to Ed, and they asked me if I wanted to change my name. [SPEAKER_01]: I said no because I'm not changing my name my last name What if we change our first name when we got married that would be weird like we just like a new new name new name.
[SPEAKER_01]: What would you name yourself? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I don't know all this is it's it's it's giving like Phoebe Boothay Princess Consuelo Banana Hammond [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, well give you some time. [SPEAKER_00]: You'll tell us at the end of the day what you were like, you know, but it's really funny because I said no, and she was like, okay, just so you know if you want to change your name You're gonna have to come back here and get remarried and I was like, no, why don't that do?
[SPEAKER_01]: That's how that works [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so. [SPEAKER_01]: Apparently so, but I, well, it's her job in a lot of use. [SPEAKER_00]: It was so loud at the clerk's office at day because there were a bunch of people there. [SPEAKER_00]: Getting married, you know, kids there, you know, it was kind of hard to get married here.
[SPEAKER_00]: They weren't getting married. [SPEAKER_00]: They were just there. [SPEAKER_00]: But I was like, Brett, as we were walking out, he goes, did I hear her perfectly weird to come back here and get remarried? [SPEAKER_01]: Is it apparently so? [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's her job to know, but that's it's her job to know, but our job to also know, and I was like, that's that seems a little That's a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But okay. [SPEAKER_01]: So still be it. [SPEAKER_01]: Ta-lu Ellen. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: After this. [SPEAKER_00]: I can do it. [SPEAKER_00]: It'll be terrible. [SPEAKER_00]: I would eventually like to hyphenate, but I, I don't know that I want to go through all of that right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of paperwork for women. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: paperwork for men. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: And so anyway, that is, I'm still just going to be Tara, but I'm a little bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think you should change your name, because I'd be a lot of paperwork for us, too, right? [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: We have to go through and change all of our ownership. [SPEAKER_01]: Probably wait you're sorry. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even think about that anyway.
[SPEAKER_01]: I also thought about that. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh, you guys this is not It's not what this episode is about promise. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's not it is about marriage, but it's it's not necessarily Well my marriage will be sprinkled in a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but before we get into that today because as we mentioned last week We did our rankings episode hopefully it was well received.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think people were really excited about it [SPEAKER_01]: I hope so. [SPEAKER_01]: We both posted our TikToks and like God did we look different. [SPEAKER_00]: We look so different babies. [SPEAKER_00]: I had bangs. [SPEAKER_00]: Your hair was like lighter. [SPEAKER_00]: I hadn't dyed it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I dyed it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I got my hair done in two years. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And it was like fresh and post pandemic so much. [SPEAKER_01]: I make up on she doesn't even wear that anymore. [SPEAKER_00]: You had a lipstick on that I was like who bright lipstick.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's going through an era at the time. [SPEAKER_01]: It looks very different today because I forgot my mascara at my house, so like literally the least amount of I make very different, very different vibes, but it was really bad thing. [SPEAKER_00]: It was really bad thing. [SPEAKER_00]: It was really bad thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was really bad thing. [SPEAKER_01]: But Tara, I have to tell you, Mandy watch that and she's like, oh, Tara is a short hair girl. [SPEAKER_01]: I am a short girl. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm very excited for my short hair era to begin after my wedding. [SPEAKER_00]: it's funny because I got my hair highlighted on Saturday and I was talking to my hair girl Jess about it and she was saying because I said something about like chopping my hair and she was like oh yeah, you said something about me be wanting to do that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was like I'm waiting to after she goes it is best for you if you're doing it up due to give your friend as much hair as possible. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes absolutely cut it the way that you want to cut it. [SPEAKER_00]: She's not going to have a lot of hair to work with. [SPEAKER_00]: And that is a common misconception, even if you do an updo, you'd think like, oh, it doesn't matter because like, you know, it's going to be up.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, you need more hair. [SPEAKER_01]: You need more hair. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's right here. [SPEAKER_01]: But like your wife, Sarah. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that you need to do a Tara's hair eras. [SPEAKER_01]: The Tara's hair eras, if you will. [SPEAKER_01]: Terras Harris. [SPEAKER_01]: Terras.
[SPEAKER_01]: Terras. [SPEAKER_01]: Because I, before you cut your hair, I feel like I want to see the whole spectrum of like things short double hair cut, you know that. [SPEAKER_00]: The double haircut. [SPEAKER_00]: It was around this time four years ago. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it came up with my own memories and I was like, that's so interesting.
[SPEAKER_01]: We are revisiting four years ago a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: this week. [SPEAKER_01]: We revisited rankings, we're revisiting weddings today in order to visit a wedding later this week and then you're haircut. [SPEAKER_01]: We just brought it up. [SPEAKER_01]: So, 2021 too. [SPEAKER_01]: She's alive and well here.
[SPEAKER_00]: She is alive and well. [SPEAKER_00]: We're living like it's 2019 too on the podcast right now. [SPEAKER_00]: But as we mentioned last week, the episode we did after rankings, which was very fitting for this week. [SPEAKER_00]: was weddings. [SPEAKER_00]: It was called last week fights this week engaged and I loved that title because that was very fitting considering that almost every single proposal.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like it's like a means to resolve conflict and so I thought that was really fun and we figured that it would be really great a really great opportunity because it's wedding week. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you revisit some of the girls when we were in Ann Arbor, which we of course will talk about in just a second, they were wondering if you were going to post your dress and I was like, y'all, this is not a Taylor Swift situation.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know, that dress will be on the feed and it's so funny because I honestly didn't realize we still haven't seen Taylor Swift's wedding dress. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_00]: You said that. [SPEAKER_00]: You were like, this is in a Taylor Swift situation. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh, wow.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're totally right. [SPEAKER_01]: We have no one seen it. [SPEAKER_01]: No one knows about wedding looks like I think she wants us to stay that way. [SPEAKER_00]: You know it more power to her. [SPEAKER_01]: I respect her and her need for her privacy. [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly what you want.
[SPEAKER_01]: But if you just wanted to text me a little photo, I wouldn't show anyone. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want it for the drama. [SPEAKER_01]: I just want to know. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: My close friend. [SPEAKER_01]: She's on my close friends. [SPEAKER_01]: So she added me to her close friends.
[SPEAKER_01]: You'd be sad. [SPEAKER_01]: I'd be sad. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Done. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: The request is out there. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's out there and maybe maybe she'll find it. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So I have to say it's going to happen. [SPEAKER_00]: Then you have to say it's not going to happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not going to happen. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, let's be here in the locker before we get into our wedding, um, we're really gonna walk through season two because it is the 25th anniversary of season two, of course, which is a very wedding heavy season. [SPEAKER_01]: It's wedding era season really.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about this the other day when we're prepping for this episode. [SPEAKER_00]: Season two is such a wedding heavy season. [SPEAKER_00]: It starts with one engagement and ends with a different couple's wedding. [SPEAKER_00]: And between there are seven episodes that are really [SPEAKER_01]: Marriages either the coals and Yes, our bachelorette.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's so much that has to do and it's just funny because it's two different couples I know you would think I love it. [SPEAKER_00]: You start with with the proposed the acceptance of a proposal of one couple thinking that maybe the end of the season will be that wedding No, no [SPEAKER_01]: Simply not really different couple.
[SPEAKER_00]: Simply couldn't be. [SPEAKER_00]: And as we said last week, arguably the best season of Gilmore Girls. [SPEAKER_00]: So 25th anniversary of season two this year, which is so exciting. [SPEAKER_00]: And as you all know, we're having a Jess Mariano November because we're about to come up on the 25th anniversary of him.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, [SPEAKER_00]: that is crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So I feel very honored that we're, you know, it did feel very fitting for your like one of your favorite lines as in like the first episode and one of your favorite scenes is in the final. [SPEAKER_01]: So going through season two, talking about weddings, talking about your wedding, but do you want us to talk about Ann Arbor, which we have recorded in episode since we were [SPEAKER_00]: I know because full disclosure y'all.
[SPEAKER_00]: We got hit with the sixth stick coming back both of us. [SPEAKER_00]: Go for us. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you got hit really hard. [SPEAKER_00]: I got hit with just like a little bit of a sinus infection. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, double tap, you know, but it's not really that got got. [SPEAKER_00]: But we said, you know, better free to happen now than before it happened.
[SPEAKER_00]: I truly, when we knew we were going to Ann Arbor three weeks before my wedding, I was like, I'm probably going to get sick right now. [SPEAKER_00]: mostly because we've just been doing so much traveling and like you know the build-up of that that when your body Funding has a chance to just kind of sit and rest Usually one year my body said we will be resting.
[SPEAKER_01]: We will be watching Titanic multiple times. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, how many times did you watch it? [SPEAKER_01]: Um, maybe like three and a half. [SPEAKER_00]: Cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Love. [SPEAKER_00]: That's very cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but anyways, so yeah, this is our first episode where we're recording since we came back and God did we have a great time right here.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just think it can't get better and it does every year. [SPEAKER_01]: I want it to be longer every year. [SPEAKER_01]: I want more time to spend with our besties because like what's so fun about it is that like we see everyone on Friday. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not like, oh my gosh. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll see tomorrow.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, coffee coffee coffee. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll see your trivia. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, see it all these places. [SPEAKER_01]: And then we leave trivia. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, wait, and now we won't see them again until next year. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe if they come back And I just like I feel like I want more time.
[SPEAKER_01]: I want I know. [SPEAKER_01]: I won't be events to be longer I want the days to be longer or days, but the weather was perfect. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh You guys it was fall. [SPEAKER_00]: It was fall and I was fall. [SPEAKER_01]: Which was really perfect for my newly order because had it not been fall I would have been hot, but oh Sam.
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I had one of those perfect six pick newly orders [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, wait, remind me what you got. [SPEAKER_00]: So you're wearing your sweater. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm wearing it. [SPEAKER_00]: If you're with us on YouTube, Haley's wearing her sweater. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm wearing my Martini sweater.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I really tried to go at this with like a real like trying to create outfits that coincided. [SPEAKER_01]: Like kind of like a capsule wardrobe with my newly ordered. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So on Friday, I had like a matching set. [SPEAKER_01]: It was like a, yes, it was like a velvet, like a burnt floral velvet skirt.
[SPEAKER_01]: And how do I matching top? [SPEAKER_01]: And I ended up not wearing the matching top admittedly because I couldn't get my boobs to tape right. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's just between me and all of our besties. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just about to be private information. [SPEAKER_00]: That was a view of the thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I wore a little corset top instead, which I had worn earlier in the week to Casey Mascades. [SPEAKER_01]: Very versatile. [SPEAKER_01]: I might keep it. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm debating. [SPEAKER_01]: It's cute. [SPEAKER_00]: It's very you. [SPEAKER_01]: It's so, and it's so flattering.
[SPEAKER_01]: It can tuck into jeans quite nice, but it has a peppermint cute little. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll post it all of these pictures on our Instagram. [SPEAKER_01]: So you guys can see another peppermint. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, it's in 2012, but you know what I love about that. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's a mini-peplum.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like a full, so it was cute. [SPEAKER_01]: But loved that look. [SPEAKER_01]: And then I had my kingdom, brown dress, brown and cream kingdom, which is like one of my favorite dresses I've ever rented from Newly, honestly. [SPEAKER_01]: I loved that dress. [SPEAKER_01]: It was so cute.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like a draped this sweater demirally over my shoulders just to have a little cozy look, was so cute. [SPEAKER_01]: And then I wore it later to trivia. [SPEAKER_01]: I was about to call it trivia trivia trivia. [SPEAKER_01]: I would have later to trivia. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sure, but I have to tell you the hero piece of my whole order was the dams and matter reversible trench coat, which is so close to being mine.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like almost convinced myself to buy it because I love it so much. [SPEAKER_01]: I also love it so much because Tara and I got matching coats. [SPEAKER_00]: We both got them. [SPEAKER_00]: It was so funny because whenever we do an event together, and we're going to be wearing pieces from our newly orders, we always run them by each other first.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're always like, this is what I got. [SPEAKER_00]: Once we can match the vibes. [SPEAKER_00]: But two, so we make sure that we're not getting the same thing, because the board knows we'll show up in the same outfit. [SPEAKER_00]: But the jacket, we don't usually do that. [SPEAKER_00]: No, I think that we're usually doing a good style.
[SPEAKER_00]: We have different styles, but sometimes there's a venn diagram there. [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_00]: It's tight. [SPEAKER_00]: but it's there. [SPEAKER_00]: And this jacket fell into it because you showed me your newly order because you had already placed it and I was in the middle of filling my bag.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, you were like, I got this jacket and I was like, no, I had already in my bag. [SPEAKER_00]: I said, what do you think that we could do it? [SPEAKER_00]: And we could wear them, but reverse. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it's a one side match like check like you check and the other side was solid red.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and really just so cute because a little tie that goes around the waist is red and check. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like little pop of red. [SPEAKER_01]: So cute. [SPEAKER_01]: It was like that perfect size to wear sweater under it, but still very flattering. [SPEAKER_01]: But I love that little pocket.
[SPEAKER_01]: You pocket on the back and out the pocket. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what I'm going to put in there, but something's going in the pocket. [SPEAKER_01]: And it was just so cute. [SPEAKER_01]: And that was one of those ones that both of us were like scouring the reviews to figure out how this was going to fit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because admittedly, I was going to get like a size 10. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I usually like eight or 10, you know, I didn't really see. [SPEAKER_01]: I knew I was going to wear a sweater under it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love everyone. [SPEAKER_01]: But then I started with a lot of views.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not that much room, but apparently this was very oversized. [SPEAKER_01]: And so luckily someone was like my same exact bus size, same exact height. [SPEAKER_01]: She explained everywhere she wore this coat, what she wore under it. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, that is my girl, and I'm getting a size four.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I did exactly perfect. [SPEAKER_00]: No, I think you did, I think you did it right. [SPEAKER_00]: I got a six, I didn't look at the reviews as like intently as you did. [SPEAKER_00]: I was worth them for like the 30 minutes. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I was kind of in like a little bit of a rush.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, yeah, I need to order this fair now, which was, which is a test. [SPEAKER_01]: It's still a time to manage skills. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, no, it arrived two days before, but I still wanted to make sure I got it in on time. [SPEAKER_00]: But with mine, I got the six and I probably could have gone with the four.
[SPEAKER_01]: But see that's the great thing is like now you know you love that coat, but you're not committed to it. [SPEAKER_01]: So the next time you go to order it, you're like, well, I'm going to get a four. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even love it even more. [SPEAKER_00]: I have worn it almost every single day.
[SPEAKER_00]: I do love her. [SPEAKER_01]: Wait, so tell me more about your Ann Arbornoli. [SPEAKER_01]: I forget I forget what you wore that first night. [SPEAKER_01]: I wore the red dress. [SPEAKER_01]: The red you guys. [SPEAKER_01]: This is Tara's red dress to her red guys. [SPEAKER_00]: So, in 2024, this red dress from Reformation came out and I was obsessed with it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I got so many pictures of it sent to me because Tara was like, should I get this? [SPEAKER_01]: Should I get this? [SPEAKER_01]: I want this. [SPEAKER_00]: No, for real, in 2024, I said this dress. [SPEAKER_00]: It's called the Morella, Lin and dress. [SPEAKER_00]: They had it in a bunch of different patterns that were all beautiful, but I loved it and read.
[SPEAKER_01]: I, you know, I love, and this is like, leading up to our red beer. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we both just like in such a room. [SPEAKER_00]: We were in our red red girls was it we were in like I was in my strawberries. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, so I was but you're right It was like leading up to the red ear because we had built the red ear around Summer yeah, and so I Loved this dress so much and it just was out of my price range, but knowing the Reformation in Newly [SPEAKER_00]: tend to coincide sometimes.
[SPEAKER_00]: I had been scouring for this dress. [SPEAKER_00]: And when it finally hit newly, I couldn't get, like I couldn't touch it. [SPEAKER_00]: It was always sold out, always. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes. [SPEAKER_00]: So when I was just kind of looking through for like one last thing, I wanted to find something cutesy to wear for our night before our Sip and Chop.
[SPEAKER_00]: I found the dress, like it was in my saves and my size was there, and I was like, done. [SPEAKER_01]: It was like, it was like you were meant to have it too because it looked so good on you. [SPEAKER_01]: The color was perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like that's what's so magical. [SPEAKER_01]: That newly as there's so many brands that you want to buy the pieces for.
[SPEAKER_01]: But there's such investment pieces. [SPEAKER_01]: It's been so much money. [SPEAKER_01]: Like how often are you going to wear this bright red dress that's just so cute. [SPEAKER_01]: But like it's so much money to get it to be able to like rent it in like with five other pieces for the month.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then you turn it because maybe it is just like a novelty piece that you're going to get [SPEAKER_01]: It's like this Martini sweater. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know that I'm necessarily going to want to invest in the Martini sweater, but I do I want to for a month, absolutely. [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like that way about that red dress. [SPEAKER_01]: No, I know. [SPEAKER_01]: You can rent it again if you love it so much and you can also buy it at a discount when it's in your rental. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, also like this dress retails for like somewhere in the ballpark of $300, which is why I didn't buy it at the time, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: It's on sale right now for less than $100. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Terra, rental fail, set up for rental fail. [SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, oh, I'm being set up here. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so that's what I were on Friday night. [SPEAKER_00]: And then on for a coffee coffee coffee, I had these beautiful.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm obsessed with the Maeve Collette pants. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I have, absolutely. [SPEAKER_00]: Them in black. [SPEAKER_00]: And I had them in the, in this like, Coteroi, like, very autumnal print, loved them. [SPEAKER_00]: Or that with this cute little short sleeve, [SPEAKER_00]: A brown lighter.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was such a lower light up with like a little tie, loved it. [SPEAKER_00]: Honestly felt so comfortable. [SPEAKER_00]: It was cute. [SPEAKER_00]: It felt very out of no work with my little Mary Jeans. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was great with my jacket. [SPEAKER_00]: And then I also had this Mocha sweater.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, perfect. [SPEAKER_00]: My little half sip. [SPEAKER_00]: It's perfect. [SPEAKER_00]: Perfect Mocha. [SPEAKER_00]: I was wearing this morning when Brett and I went out and got coffee in Mocha. [SPEAKER_00]: And then the last thing that I rented was this, um, honestly, kind of for my wedding era was this, um, the dress that I've talked about, the blue stripe dress with the flowers all over it.
[SPEAKER_00]: That I am finding it reclectic. [SPEAKER_00]: Hutch makes that in a bunch of different patterns. [SPEAKER_00]: And one of them was like, that's really poked up one. [SPEAKER_00]: Remember I want to get the brown poked up one? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but then none of my size. [SPEAKER_00]: So I got the one in cream and I worked to our, uh, tasting.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which was the day after we got back from Ann Arbor. [SPEAKER_00]: So, [SPEAKER_01]: Oh cute, and like poke it out looks so great on you, but thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: I just I feel like everything kind of like came together quite nicely because like your red dress matched our little matching jacket because it was red and brown.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know so cute. [SPEAKER_01]: We put such cute pictures. [SPEAKER_01]: My mom was a great photographer. [SPEAKER_00]: So I know I can't wait to see I can wait to see the rest of them because you uploaded some of me, but yeah, I need to see the rest of them because they really look so cute.
[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, [SPEAKER_00]: Actually, every time I've seen you, you've seen me in newly. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: It's true. [SPEAKER_00]: And as always, if you guys are interested in checking newly out because we, we'd love it and we think that you guys would love it too. [SPEAKER_00]: We have a code.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you use the code GTS a checkout, if you go to newly.com, you'll get $28 off your first order with them, your first month with them, which is usually $98, but you can get six different styles for $70 for your first month. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a steal. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's NU-U-L-Y. [SPEAKER_00]: Make sure.
[SPEAKER_00]: But newly aside Ann Arbor was just like an absolute dream. [SPEAKER_00]: We were just very, very well dressed while we asked me all our friends. [SPEAKER_00]: We had such a wonderful time Lisa and Lane out to themselves every single year. [SPEAKER_00]: This year I just really loved the places that we hosted our events.
[SPEAKER_00]: We were at Cirque, which was great. [SPEAKER_01]: everyone said it felt like they read a town meeting for coffee. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, which was so fun. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a coffee coffee coffee. [SPEAKER_01]: We played a game that had to do with Tara's wedding and we had so much fun. [SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna play it again at the end of this episode because it was just so much fun to play with them in the room because everybody got to participate and we're gonna talk a little bit because I realized when we were there we actually talked about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: We never recapt my bachelor [SPEAKER_00]: we're going to do it. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to do it here later today, but we did it in person. [SPEAKER_00]: So I got fun. [SPEAKER_00]: Really. [SPEAKER_00]: They did. [SPEAKER_00]: They did. [SPEAKER_00]: So funny. [SPEAKER_00]: We cackled.
[SPEAKER_00]: We had so so so much fun. [SPEAKER_00]: And we can't wait to do it again next year. [SPEAKER_00]: We just always, it's the event. [SPEAKER_00]: We look forward to doing every single year. [SPEAKER_00]: And we just always have so much fun. [SPEAKER_01]: We have so much fun. [SPEAKER_01]: And you know, it's funny is one of the first questions like one of the first things I want to talk about in season two was one of the trivia questions.
[SPEAKER_01]: No way [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, fine! [SPEAKER_01]: And I saw that and I was like, wait, why did this, like, why does this feel really recent that we talked about this? [SPEAKER_01]: It was a trivia question. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's what a what a delight trivia is. [SPEAKER_01]: Very hard. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you want, okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: You guys were trivia, you need to add an arbor. [SPEAKER_00]: Because Lane... [SPEAKER_00]: She created some very hard questions like Haley and I read we of course read them ahead of time and we were like, I don't know I was like no, what know this what know this what know this yeah, but and it was fun You could tell that some people got stumped in some people were like nope, I know this I was like wow so locked in like the moment that I saw someone had Kate one of our like besties on their team I was like [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're going to win.
[SPEAKER_00]: We assembled some really fun teams and because of course, some of our patron members were there and it was really great to be like your patron member and your patron member. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure you've seen each other in the chat. [SPEAKER_00]: Get together. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's let's make a little team.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, because like now that we know people a little bit better, we also have those personalities are going to. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, like matchup really nicely, but in general, like if next year you're thinking of want like you want to come, but you would only be able to come by yourself don't let that stop you series there's so many other single girlies that come by themselves.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my gosh. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, married girlies who come a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: I was gonna say they're all just they're individual, they're singular people that are there solo girlies, if you will. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And so we match them up, put them on teams, and everyone is BFF's by the end of the weekend.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you feel like maybe you're a little apprehensive because it just be you, don't be your friends are waiting there for you. [SPEAKER_01]: It's true. [SPEAKER_00]: And we saw so many familiar faces this year. [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, we saw so many new faces this year.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you were a first time, or it was so incredible to have you there. [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: It was also so great to see like Kendall and Julia and her mom. [SPEAKER_01]: Wait, you guys, we have to tell you this. [SPEAKER_01]: Julia? [SPEAKER_01]: actually met one of her relatives, like distant relatives.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, but through someone's boyfriend, I did not know that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, Christina and Julia were related and they didn't know until they got to coffee coffee coffee last year. [SPEAKER_01]: And they got to talking and they were like, oh, you're like, I think it was like their boyfriend's cousin or something.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to say I think it's Julia's boyfriend's cousin [SPEAKER_01]: They're, you know, I have to talk to them. [SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say, I was going to say, I really planned for one of the ways to tell us who's who. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, but they're, they're, they're. [SPEAKER_01]: They're, they're, they're, they're, yeah, you don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: Your bestie, your relatives are all waiting there for you. [SPEAKER_01]: It's all put together by rock paper scissors. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But it was, it was just so great, like, between meeting new people and then seeing like Lindsey there with her sisters and they just introduced their youngest sister to Gilmore girls and Laney and Zoe and they brought their parents this year, I was just like, it was just like, I loved it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: And it was kind of funny sitting at trivia seeing everyone, and they would wave up. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'd be like, oh my god, you're like, oh my god, you're like, oh my god, you're Instagram. [SPEAKER_01]: Profile. [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_00]: No, it was so great.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It was so, so great. [SPEAKER_01]: So please come join us next year. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we'd love to see you guys next year. [SPEAKER_00]: It was so much fun. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just like, it feels like a reunion every year. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we always have a great time.
[SPEAKER_01]: And make sure we even funner. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the tagline. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, let's get into [SPEAKER_01]: Wedding. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's get into weddings. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, specifically in season two. [SPEAKER_01]: We talked about season two is just really expansive and it's approached to like a wedding season.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of what I was thinking about because it's got proposals. [SPEAKER_01]: I guess engagements if you want to call it that because it's an engaged period of time. [SPEAKER_01]: Showers, bachelor lap parties, cold feats, rehearsal dinners, [SPEAKER_00]: middle of the weekend, decorating, cake tastings, yeah, all gifts, sampling, Emily Land, measuring the town, moving to measure 16 piece orchestra, exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: But we say mushrooms, seeing someone you shouldn't. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: It's got a lot of everything, a good thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Choosing your music, yeah, it's got like truly. [SPEAKER_00]: It has a little bit of everything in it. [SPEAKER_01]: And as we were talking about it last week, I wasn't really thinking about that, that like thematically, there's so much that happens, that feels so familiar for so many different people, well, for Loreline Suki, but it's happening to multiple people in over the course of the season, that it feels like I think that's one of the cohesive components of season two, that makes it feel really unexpected because it's not from the same couple, but again,
[SPEAKER_01]: It's rather elite. [SPEAKER_01]: It is, it is rather elite. [SPEAKER_01]: As you're prepping for this episode, I was realizing I was like, I think I just want to interview Tara You just want to interview me. [SPEAKER_00]: I think I just want to ask me if I wanted to interrogate you and this week you want to interview me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's because I'm nicer. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, it's because I wanted to talk about individual episodes and moments throughout season two from your perspective of being a bride, you know, bridal era, but also just like revisiting some of the thoughts that we had from the wedding episode, because I'm going back and listen to that and there was just like so many [SPEAKER_01]: Interesting things that kind of happened over the course of that episode in terms of our conversation and what you wanted for your wedding What you wanted for your proposal.
[SPEAKER_01]: This was just when her and bra had started dating because she said my boyfriend bra and I was like [SPEAKER_01]: meaning you're soon to be husband so it's quite fun. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you guys want to go back and listen to that that was from like I think it was May 2022. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that episode was we can link in in the show notes if you guys want to go back and listen to it to hear our old opinions and see how much we've changed.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I figured we would start with Sadie Sadie because that episode is Sadie Sadie married lady. [SPEAKER_01]: Very lady. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And that episode starts with Laurelite and Rory talking about what they would be carrying down the aisle. [SPEAKER_01]: Or rather what Laurelite would have as you walked down the aisle, something that smells good.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that was Potrose, which was the trivia question. [SPEAKER_01]: What's something that smells good that you'd walked down the aisle with that is not flowers? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, great question. [SPEAKER_01]: You can't use Potrose, they already did. [SPEAKER_00]: Potrose and Frank Sinatra specifically.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you can also add a singer to that. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I can. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Hot rose and fragrant. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, Frank Sinatra is already such a great choice, such a great choice. [SPEAKER_00]: Man, if it's not flowers, what's smells like really something that smells really good that I would just be like, yeah, I could walk to the aisle with us lemons.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, fresh cut lemons. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, just a bouquet of like citrus. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Every time I cut into a lemon and I just like smell the fresh. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how I feel like. [SPEAKER_01]: You just kind of like, um, fresh.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but like the smell of lemons. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Good. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's a great question. [SPEAKER_00]: I was going to lament. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, very different direction. [SPEAKER_01]: I was going to say, like a fresh baked cookie. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, cookie, cookie, great choice.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just warm though. [SPEAKER_01]: I guess I'm [SPEAKER_01]: Just me holding a pie as I walked on the aisle. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm attracted to pies. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what, a merry pie? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just a merry pie. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is also when Laura Light tells Luke that she is getting married or might be getting married, she doesn't really confirm to him.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is when she talks about how many goats she would be worth that. [SPEAKER_01]: That is what Max and her father had agreed upon. [SPEAKER_01]: How many goats do you think you're worth? [SPEAKER_01]: Do we ask this a coffee coffee coffee? [SPEAKER_01]: Someone said a hundred and someone out said a billion.
[SPEAKER_01]: A billion. [SPEAKER_01]: All of that feels like a burden. [SPEAKER_01]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: That does feel like a burden. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'd really be interested to know what goats were worth back at this time. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that would be a really good girl.
[SPEAKER_01]: How many decent amount of goats would you like worth? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, what's an insulting amount versus this you took my daughter and now I'm giving you 40 goats. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's just too many. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's what I mean. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, is 102 many or if someone had 100 goats and they gave them to you for as a dowry, [SPEAKER_00]: Would you be like, wow, hey, big spender.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, big spender, like, this is too bad. [SPEAKER_01]: This is too many ghosts. [SPEAKER_01]: Or is it not enough? [SPEAKER_01]: I know, that's actually a really good question. [SPEAKER_01]: Before you decide your goat worth, you need to go back and research the value of a goat in a dowry.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: We didn't really, they didn't, I didn't really consider that. [SPEAKER_00]: But you know what I think for now, I'm going to say nine. [SPEAKER_00]: Nine? [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that's a good side for you. [SPEAKER_01]: Your birthday's on the ninth. [SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not 10. [SPEAKER_01]: They can split off in the three groups of three if it gets overwhelming. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's really good. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: That's very solid. [SPEAKER_01]: But this episode is just very interesting from a storytelling perspective because the drama of the yellow Daisy proposal is that the rely sitting there on her phone in Max is not there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Something that we said in the wedding episode was that we loved the cinematic nature of this, [SPEAKER_01]: Why is he not his own proposal like why is he not here? [SPEAKER_01]: It's beautiful scene, but like from if we're sinking into the narrative this is our friend Laura lie we're like and he wasn't there he wasn't there had your place of work well this is this talk about a burden you know what I mean like you have a hundred also said in that episode like you had to call him [SPEAKER_00]: You had to call him?
[SPEAKER_00]: Which I guess I get, he wanted to make sure she saw it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, first you want to ruin this prize. [SPEAKER_01]: He didn't want to ruin this surprise. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's just sitting there. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not like she's knock on a call him, you know? [SPEAKER_01]: Imagine if you get that many daisies in your like, Oh, wow.
[SPEAKER_01]: She'll let him know. [SPEAKER_01]: Gotta get my call later. [SPEAKER_01]: Gotta find the guests. [SPEAKER_00]: Where'd they go? [SPEAKER_00]: They're under the flowers. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's true. [SPEAKER_01]: Bye. [SPEAKER_01]: At the end of the episode, Laura likes calls. [SPEAKER_01]: Or like, kind of mid-end of episode.
[SPEAKER_01]: She calls Max to... [SPEAKER_01]: answer yes and that's kind of like I guess the full circle sort of parallel nature of like that being the case. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that she should have gone to him rather than because like there's the cinematic nature the storytelling aspect that Amy included but there's also the very personal nature of like going to see him to say this, tap the conversation.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think she should have done that? [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: I think he should have been there. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I think upon realizing that he wasn't there, I'm trying to put myself in her shoes. [SPEAKER_00]: I probably would have called as well. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like, is this you? [SPEAKER_00]: Did you do this? [SPEAKER_00]: What is this? [SPEAKER_00]: Is this a proposal? [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, I mean at the end of, in Sadie Sadie, when she called him to accept, oh, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought you were talking about it. [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, towards the end of the app.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because she definitely should call, because, uh, can I just confirm the sorry? [SPEAKER_01]: I need to confirm these or from you. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, you're talking about in Sadie Sadie. [SPEAKER_00]: In Sadie Sadie. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, when she calls, she calls during Friday night dinner, okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think she called him with the intention of saying yes to him. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: She called him with the intention of going, where are we gonna live? [SPEAKER_00]: Where are we gonna live? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, and I want to make sure that we have this and this and this and this and he was like, well, all of these things would matter.
[SPEAKER_00]: Are you saying yes and she's like, what? [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, are you saying yes because these things only matter if you're saying yes. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's why I think she said yes over the phone, which we did also, I remember in that episode being like, and then she answered the proposal over the phone.
[SPEAKER_00]: She didn't go to it. [SPEAKER_00]: She didn't go to it. [SPEAKER_01]: Which is really beautiful cinematically. [SPEAKER_01]: Like in storytelling and writing. [SPEAKER_01]: But like, I always thought she should have taken those worries. [SPEAKER_01]: Not called him during Friday night dinner.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was always weird to me. [SPEAKER_00]: She showed up at his apartment and started asking me these questions. [SPEAKER_00]: I do think that when she called, I don't think she had the intention of saying yes. [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_00]: She called with her concerns and her anxieties and her fears, and her questions, hoping for them to be swaged, and then was just ended up saying yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I just, I think I would have loved a moment where after Friday night dinner, they drive to Max's house. [SPEAKER_01]: She's the athlete here, Borey. [SPEAKER_01]: She goes inside. [SPEAKER_01]: She says, yeah, she's like, I have to go boys in the car. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is to have like that connection, but maybe that's why we knew they weren't right for each other. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: I imagine we might have talked about this during the episode. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that that is, I know we've talked about this at one point. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that that is the reason why Amy did that was because she was like, this isn't right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing about this is supposed to be right because they're not actually going to end up together. [SPEAKER_01]: So like, you know, I want to ask her, let's let's call her in. [SPEAKER_00]: on a friend, Amy Line, phone a friend, the only friend on the end of the line. [SPEAKER_01]: But no, I was just wondering because I was thinking about that and I was like, how, how maybe this should this have gone?
[SPEAKER_01]: But that's how it did go. [SPEAKER_01]: But the next episode is also a very wedding forward episode. [SPEAKER_01]: Hammer's in the house. [SPEAKER_00]: Hammer's in the house. [SPEAKER_00]: I love that episode. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, only do we get a shower, a wedding shower. [SPEAKER_01]: We also meet Tom the contractor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I know. [SPEAKER_00]: The hammer aspect of that episode is quite Tom the contractor yet, but he studies. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, in retrospect, he is. [SPEAKER_00]: But to tell you something so sad, I've been watching Heart of Dixie, finished the show. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's on the show at one point, but he actually speaking of goats.
[SPEAKER_00]: Plays like a farmer who's like actually really abusive and mean. [SPEAKER_00]: No, I was like, not dumb. [SPEAKER_00]: And so one of the main character steals a goat from him. [SPEAKER_00]: And we deal with it because he's kind of a mean guy. [SPEAKER_01]: And he never has like a redemption arc.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mm, oh, yeah, that's not my Tom. [SPEAKER_00]: That's not my, I don't know that man. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that man, but that's not my Tom. [SPEAKER_01]: But speaking of shower, I figured we could talk about your shower, because while there was no hello kitty, there was a Barbie cake.
[SPEAKER_00]: There was a Barbie cake, my mom made a Barbie cake. [SPEAKER_00]: If you guys don't follow me on Instagram, it's okay, I'm not offended, but you didn't get a chance to see, but it was amazing. [SPEAKER_00]: I really enjoyed my shower. [SPEAKER_01]: She thought I'd do. [SPEAKER_01]: She did, my mom lied to me.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a little thwarted by something else we haven't talked about on the podcast. [SPEAKER_00]: What ever could you possibly need? [SPEAKER_00]: Um, so we had a girls gone mild weekend, which was really fun. [SPEAKER_00]: And Friday and Saturday, it was just like me and my gals, Haley included, just kind of having a fun little silly goose time together, which I imagine we'll talk about in a second.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's episode episode. [SPEAKER_00]: Next episode, we talk about what we'll talk about it. [SPEAKER_00]: But as far as my shower goes, we did them on Sunday. [SPEAKER_00]: And so we got there a little early. [SPEAKER_00]: We were there setting up, I had these two big vases that I bought from home goods for these big flower arrangements that I started to put together the night before.
[SPEAKER_00]: And [SPEAKER_00]: When I came back with the second one because we brought the other one from the hotel Well, the first one broke the first one broke and as you guys were telling me that I was peeling the sticker off the second one The second one collapsed in my hand and sliced open my shattered ring finger.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, um, just completely shattered in my hand unprompted and There was nothing that she could have done differently nothing just not remove the sticker But we weren't gonna leave the sticker on [SPEAKER_00]: course not literally I was holding it in my left hand and peeling the sticker off with my right and it collapsed in my hand and so I had to go to the urgent care and I got stitches and I was an hour late to my own bridal shower which was stunning.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, truly, it was just, you know, I was telling someone at the baby shower to speak in about it because my brother was, he was like wanting me to download more with him about it because she was like, tell me more about what happened. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And they were like, well, she went about a story.
[SPEAKER_01]: She was just been like, this was such a good, beautiful event. [SPEAKER_01]: It wouldn't have had the novelty moment to explain about it. [SPEAKER_00]: definitely a story for sure. [SPEAKER_00]: It hurt. [SPEAKER_00]: I was in a lot of pants. [SPEAKER_00]: She blew a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but all things considered it ended up going really well. [SPEAKER_00]: I just wish I had been able because of everything that happened. [SPEAKER_01]: I wish I had been able to be more present for the shower, honestly, because so many of like the beautiful women in your life for all in one room, because when the hero walked in, I will say she [SPEAKER_00]: I did.
[SPEAKER_00]: I got very emotional. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was in part because you had just had this like a little traumatic experience Yeah, suddenly you walked into a room where all of the women in your life were sitting there celebrating you and there to support you And there's a barbecue cake in the corner that you thought wasn't gonna be there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and um [SPEAKER_01]: It's emotional. [SPEAKER_01]: It was really special. [SPEAKER_01]: Star's hollow coming together. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was really, really special. [SPEAKER_00]: So basically, instead of doing a traditional bridal shower, I invited about like 20 of the women in my life, my bright, well, plaster art.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so it was gender new. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, the girlies. [SPEAKER_00]: We usually use it as a general term on this podcast too. [SPEAKER_00]: So it was basically like my bridal party, my mom, my mother-in-law to be. [SPEAKER_00]: my sister-in-law, my sister-in-law to be, and who was also a base she was with us, Kaya.
[SPEAKER_00]: And my aunt's, my female cousins, and a spattering of like some of my female, my closest female friends. [SPEAKER_00]: And so there were about 20 of us. [SPEAKER_00]: And it was great. [SPEAKER_00]: We were just there to have brunch and instead of like having a registry, I asked for really sentimental gifts or family heirlooms or something secondhand.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I got to open those on FaceTime with some of the people... Oh, did you? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes. [SPEAKER_00]: They're in person. [SPEAKER_01]: I forgot to leave my recipe card with you. [SPEAKER_01]: I opened up my journal and it was there and I was like, well this isn't my God, man.
[SPEAKER_01]: This isn't helpful. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm actually gonna get my lemon chicken orzo soup. [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, I feel like you probably know this, but I feel like I can tell you on the podcast that I'm not gonna have your wedding gift for you for your wedding, because it's gonna take me longer than I thought it would, because I had 10 denied us, because a needle pointing you across so a needle pointing for your wedding.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll show you the canvas, but like I painted it myself. [SPEAKER_01]: You did. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like truly from the mind. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, I'm so excited. [SPEAKER_01]: I know I wanted to try doing that. [SPEAKER_01]: I know, but my first one is yours. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think it's not quite cute, but I haven't been able to stick to it because I'm just now getting back into stitching.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not about to break. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not about to rush another stitch project. [SPEAKER_01]: Please don't. [SPEAKER_00]: So, but you will have a custom. [SPEAKER_01]: Would be received at your shower because like I don't have a fairly family heirloom for you both like maybe this will be something that you'll have for quite some time and We'll be coming to celebrate wedding.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I've become heirloom. [SPEAKER_00]: So excited. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I wanted. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that often times and there's nothing necessarily wrong with this especially if you're someone who's moving in with your partner for the first time and you guys are starting a home like I think that's how registries really started and bridal showers themselves like the origin of it kind of does date back to this idea of like how many go to my worth [SPEAKER_00]: because you know, you wanted to give the couple something to start with.
[SPEAKER_00]: You wanted to offer that like shower them with gifts, shower them with love. [SPEAKER_00]: And I really didn't want people to feel especially because Brett and I have been living together now for almost two years by the time we get married. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like we have a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: Are we into downsize our place?
[SPEAKER_00]: We actually end up getting rid of a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I wanted things that were going to be sentimental that I could [SPEAKER_00]: And it was really, really special. [SPEAKER_00]: Some of the things that were gifted to me in the stories behind them and the story is really, yeah, what I love.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what makes it so special. [SPEAKER_01]: Can I tell you? [SPEAKER_01]: We were actually talking about, this is such a side note about registries. [SPEAKER_01]: We were talking about it while I was getting my nails done. [SPEAKER_01]: And we were talking about KitchenAids because I think I've told you before that all of the women who I grew up with and their daughters, we always give, or the moms always gift the daughter who's getting married and KitchenAid.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: And so I made a joke because all of these women have gotten KitchenAids, but none of them use them. [SPEAKER_01]: Some of them do. [SPEAKER_01]: Some of them are just kitchen accessories. [SPEAKER_01]: Meanwhile, I would use a KitchenAid. [SPEAKER_01]: And so I jokingly asked like, how old do I have to be to like just get a KitchenAid?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And she was like 30. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was 31 at the time and they just laughed and I was like, okay, so no. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, so what we're doing here is because you have fallen in love. [SPEAKER_01]: You have a GoFund to me for your Kitchen. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: How come? [SPEAKER_01]: I love my life. [SPEAKER_01]: Can I have a GoFund me for my Kitchen? [SPEAKER_00]: do you know what I mean? [SPEAKER_00]: It's so funny because like this is this is straight out of sex in the city with Carrie, Bradshaw. [SPEAKER_00]: She like goes to a baby shower and there's a registry and she gets something off the registry and when she arrives she's take off her shoes and famously Carrie buys very expensive shoes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah and someone takes her shoes. [SPEAKER_00]: And so she tells her friend who's hosting like who's shower was this is like her second or third child and I think it's her third and she's like, hey, you know, someone took my shoes and she's like, oh, no, like I have a pair that you can borrow and like send her home with sneakers and she's like, no, you don't understand these are like monolablanics.
[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, well, Carrie, like, it's not really my responsibility to God, I don't remember the exactly what she would basically like fill your closet with really expensive shoes. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, that wasn't my choice. [SPEAKER_00]: That was your choice. [SPEAKER_00]: She was like, it wasn't my choice.
[SPEAKER_00]: Take off my shoes. [SPEAKER_00]: And so she makes a registry. [SPEAKER_00]: She says, like, I'm marrying myself. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm registered of an olivonic. [SPEAKER_00]: And she ends up getting her the shoes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, I hope you guys are very happy together.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think and like she brings this up she goes I have celebrated every milestone with this woman's life and like of course It was an accident, but like what about me? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what about me? [SPEAKER_01]: I have celebrated all these women and all They were and like I'm like happy to you know what do you mean?
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, but I just it was just more so like we were talking about Kitchen aid today and I was like at what point do I get a go for a me kitchen aid like what sort of registry is? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and like it's very sweet Did one hundred of that history? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I'm just saying when do I get my donation?
[SPEAKER_01]: Kitchen aid [SPEAKER_01]: So, I think it's time. [SPEAKER_01]: They were like, free or birthday, you should make a registry for just a kitchen aid. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a great idea. [SPEAKER_00]: I felt this way, I feel this way now, I felt this way when I was before I met Brett.
[SPEAKER_00]: These are not the only milestones we should be celebrating. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll find more. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll find more to celebrate. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think that modern women are finding more things to celebrate. [SPEAKER_00]: But it does remind me of that episode of Sex and the City.
[SPEAKER_00]: So there was being talked about even in the early odds too. [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, so what about like, you know, congratulations on your promotion. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm making more more on this on that. [SPEAKER_00]: I think we've put a lot of emphasis on getting married, having children especially though, because of like, especially when you're your first parent.
[SPEAKER_01]: And like that makes so much sense when you're really, absolutely. [SPEAKER_01]: To like, help raise this baby. [SPEAKER_01]: But one of my percent, do you want cookies or not? [SPEAKER_01]: Because Haley's going to make cookies. [SPEAKER_01]: Anti-leadly is going to make cookies. [SPEAKER_01]: So just one, I'm just saying.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you see a registry pop up in my birthday, don't [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, the shower itself was amazing and one of the things that I had really kind of went gone back and forth on was how we were going to do dessert. [SPEAKER_00]: Because we did brunch, they included dessert, but I was like, no, I want some fun things.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like some of the things that I wanted to pull from the traditional like bridal shower was to have like a gamer too and to also have like really fun cookies, really fun desserts. [SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to game everyone by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, 1616. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she did win.
[UNKNOWN]: That's true. [SPEAKER_00]: It was like a who knows Tara, this or that? [SPEAKER_00]: You won that game, you also won the guess on how many stitches I got, which was five. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, you're so right, I wrote it. [SPEAKER_00]: I will say this or that, Tara game, I actually beat Tara.
[SPEAKER_00]: You kind of did, and also Brett looked at me with some of the answers that I gave him was like, I know. [SPEAKER_01]: Brett and I talked about it on yours. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was like, okay, so this is the answer that I would have put down for her, but this is what I thought she would say, so this is funny for them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: He was like, when I was morning or night person, he knows I am kind of a night owl, but I prefer to get a you identify it as an early morning person. [SPEAKER_00]: I like to get up early in the morning. [SPEAKER_00]: And so when it was this or that, I was like, I'm going to get up in the morning.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was like, you're not getting up that, what are you talking about? [SPEAKER_00]: You're not up late at night. [SPEAKER_00]: You're still up when I'm in bed. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, fair, fair, you're right, but anyway, one of the things that I had seen on Pinterest, because I wanted [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted like a really fun dessert. [SPEAKER_00]: And my mom is such a great baker. [SPEAKER_01]: Was I seen that? [SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't. [SPEAKER_00]: She does not. [SPEAKER_00]: My mom only has never had a kitchen aid. [SPEAKER_00]: We have a kitchen aid. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I should use it more.
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe after I married, I'll really take all that person out. [SPEAKER_01]: That's really, that's the only time you can. [SPEAKER_00]: Apparently, yeah, it's apparently the only time you're supposed to. [SPEAKER_00]: But [SPEAKER_00]: I digress, my mom, I, I showed her this cake and I was like, do you think you can make this?
[SPEAKER_00]: And she was like, I could, but I'd be really nervous about transporting it. [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, okay, all good, no biggie, like a couple of weeks beforehand. [SPEAKER_00]: She told me she was like, let's say I don't think I'm going to be able to do this. [SPEAKER_00]: But I found this place that does cookies and we did like the taxi cab cookies and the wedding dress cookies and they were really, really cute.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so um we had those and then I got some cupcakes from all these cupcakes here in the city which are my favorite those remember like cupcakes are so good. [SPEAKER_00]: It was so good. [SPEAKER_00]: Was it okay good? [SPEAKER_01]: Because I got I got Hailey of Egan ones so that she wanted to pull it out on my JetBlue flight and when I had like half an eating cupcake the person next to me was like fully was like what did she pull out of her bag?
[SPEAKER_01]: What is that? [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway a couple of days before I you know I had ordered the cupcakes, but I was like hey I just want to let you know like if the cookies don't work out, it's all good to my mom Is it but we have cooking Because in the love in the deen in the kitchen That's really what those cookies felt like it felt like the one that Suki was making for the shower It's true because they said like tea and be on that It was like oh she did exactly what it felt like it really did [SPEAKER_00]: And so my mom was like, yeah, I'm not 100% sure about the cookies.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like she's really gotten back to me, but I have another idea, like in my back pocket just in case. [SPEAKER_00]: And that was when I knew she was going to make the Barbie cake. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I predict them. [SPEAKER_00]: But when I showed up, the cookies were there as was the Barbie cake.
[SPEAKER_00]: And... [SPEAKER_00]: She sourced everything from the Barbie that I had in like my Barbie box from the 90s. [SPEAKER_01]: We know, but you guys the cutest part of the whole thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, she like, if you've never seen a Barbie cake before, it's Barbie and then her skirt is like icing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But the flower that she was holding was from Jean. [SPEAKER_01]: Tara's mom's wedding bouquet. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, what the heck? [SPEAKER_01]: Why are we crying? [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_00]: She's like, that's where I'm writing bouquet.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I can't believe it. [SPEAKER_00]: Wait, I was like, are you emotional? [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, of course I'm emotional. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, okay, I was so sweet. [SPEAKER_00]: I was also just like very emotional that day. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was everything that happened, but also it's just an emotional time.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and I loved being in the same room with all the people that I [SPEAKER_00]: love and and i'm gonna feel the same way on my wedding day and yeah it was really sweet but also my mom had a little parasol that i remember playing with when i was kid to represent New Orleans because we are doing a second line for our wedding so so excited i'm very excited um my mom was so excited about that she was so thrilled she was like [SPEAKER_00]: Look at you.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's yeah, she did such a great job. [SPEAKER_00]: It was all so well done and you guys did such a great job setting things up when I left and had to go run and you left and everyone was like What did you think she would want this and I said where the captains now? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's literally where the captains.
[SPEAKER_01]: She's not gonna notice I'm not honestly the fact that it was just done was what I wanted. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that that was the lesson, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Lesson number one, don't handle glass on your wedding day, bridal shower, anything like that. [SPEAKER_00]: Lesson number two was like live and like odd, truly, because well, live and let the girls live in the world.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, because I was truly like, okay, like these flowers have to be here. [SPEAKER_00]: And I was thinking of going to get more flowers and all the stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: And then it was just like, you know, why it's going to be what? [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be because you just cut your hand open.
[SPEAKER_01]: We were down to giant centerpiece faces. [SPEAKER_00]: So we were like, little one, little ones. [SPEAKER_00]: Here we go. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So it didn't go as planned. [SPEAKER_00]: It never does, but it never does. [SPEAKER_00]: But you know why it was still such a wonderful time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Those mocktails were so good. [SPEAKER_00]: The flitter was so great. [SPEAKER_00]: The company was was. [SPEAKER_00]: The waiter was immaculate. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, Ian the waiter obsessed with him. [SPEAKER_01]: We had so much fun. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: Because at the end of the night, or like at the end of the party, someone goes, oh, did you know Ian?
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, no. [SPEAKER_01]: No, we can't. [SPEAKER_01]: Ian, I'm Matt's friends. [SPEAKER_01]: They are sort of bleeding. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I love that in the video we did like guess how many stitches and he goes, I think you got zero stitches because it's never that deep and then he goes, oh wait It is not that nice that she did get stitches did get stitches.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was like, oh sorry, it is that deep. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah He was so fun. [SPEAKER_00]: It was really really weird. [SPEAKER_01]: We had such a good time. [SPEAKER_01]: He was the yummy bartender if he was the yummy bartender of the bartender Yummy bartender Not that there the others weren't yummy.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was just the only one. [SPEAKER_00]: He was our guy [SPEAKER_00]: he was there the day that we went there for the first time. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't say that to him. [SPEAKER_00]: But like the day we went there for the first time to kind of scoop the restaurant out. [SPEAKER_00]: We ate there.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was me, G and my mom. [SPEAKER_00]: And then we went and looked at the room in the back. [SPEAKER_00]: But he was our server and he was just exactly who he was the shower. [SPEAKER_00]: Just like sassy fun, lovely. [SPEAKER_01]: It was really great. [SPEAKER_01]: So going back to the Gilmore girls of it all in this episode, something about this episode hammers and veils is that Laura Li tries to kind of make amends with Emily by going to see her and asking her about veils at the end of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Emily tells Laura Li that she shouldn't wear a veil, she should wear a tiara like she did. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that she was right or should Laura Li have worn a veil? [SPEAKER_00]: I think that it really depends on your hair. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Like if you have a little tiara in an updue cute, but I see Laura librarian her hair down.
[SPEAKER_00]: I see a veil. [SPEAKER_00]: Even the newspaper veil looked so cute on her. [SPEAKER_00]: It looked so cute on her. [SPEAKER_01]: Like a little short veil. [SPEAKER_01]: Like maybe short in the front little blusher situation, the front long train veil. [SPEAKER_01]: I just see that for her.
[SPEAKER_01]: Me so clearly. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think, when she says your head's much too big for a veil, I was like insulting. [SPEAKER_00]: But I think, [SPEAKER_00]: She would look great with a veil. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm also a big fan and I did this for my bachelor right of like a like low up due with the veil tucked in the bottom and kind of coming out And I think that that would also look really great on her.
[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, it's so hard because lower my more in-gram [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to grab a look at anything. [SPEAKER_01]: She looked great, but I'm team Vale, personally. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that that was a good sort of bridging of the gap between them, like a and all the branch, you know, all the branch should form exact for her.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a kind of feeling included again after she didn't tell her about the situation. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I do. [SPEAKER_01]: Is there anyone that you avoided telling that you were engaged? [SPEAKER_00]: Much in the way Laura lied us? [SPEAKER_00]: Is there anyone I avoided telling you? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, no, you actually did tell me about it, but I just mean to say that like I waited for the moment I hit it for you.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're the last person I told actually fair. [SPEAKER_01]: She wasn't hiding it from her. [SPEAKER_01]: She just didn't tell her about it. [SPEAKER_00]: That's true. [SPEAKER_00]: No, I intentionally hit it from you. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was a moment. [SPEAKER_01]: It was hidden. [SPEAKER_00]: It was one of my favorites.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was one of my favorite, like, tellings. [SPEAKER_00]: I was so I was thinking about that the other day and I was like I was like literally so locked in on the pasta Well, hilariously the reason that we were you were probably thinking about it is because my mom sent me a Yeah, that wasn't when these people like an article about how Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift went to celebrate Travis's 35th birthday at Theresa, which is where we got engaged [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and so you were like, yeah, I was locked in because I Yeah, that's what I thought.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I thought. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was my Travis Kelsey's if we're in a carbon dioxide or something. [SPEAKER_01]: My mind was like, that's what's happening. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, thank God, I loved it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, it was actually because I was looking up pasta recipes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's like, and I was like, remember when Tara had that really good pasta? [SPEAKER_01]: No, she got engaged. [SPEAKER_01]: The pasta was good. [SPEAKER_01]: The pasta was so good. [SPEAKER_00]: To me was just a pasta story. [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_00]: You got engaged on like, okay, but wait, tell me about the pasta.
[SPEAKER_00]: Tell me about the pasta, please. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was really, really good. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, the next episode, so like in a trio, the first three episodes of this season are like wedding wedding items, checklists for the bride, if you will, because Redlay on the wedding night, we have a bachelor at party, this we do.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it is like the perfect bachelor at party, I think, going for a little drag bar. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, love that. [SPEAKER_01]: Trying to get Rory in and they do, thankfully. [SPEAKER_01]: And I liked talking about this or rather I like listening back to us talking about this, especially because I listened to this about two weeks after I got back from your bathroom weekend.
[SPEAKER_01]: So like listening to what you thought about bathroom at parties and like what you wanted yours to be after like kind of recapping what happened in red light on the wedding night. [SPEAKER_01]: It was exactly what we did. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it was like almost word for word what we did because I remember that episode.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was not very I was like not anti-batchel at party, but I was not very pro-batchel at party. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I also spoke up about how I felt like bachelor at parties have just gotten up completely out of hand. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like the earth is so much money being spent on the wedding.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, right. [SPEAKER_01]: Why are we going to go spend booku's more on this? [SPEAKER_00]: It's insane. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: I still stand 10 toes down on this as someone because at the time I was speaking from the perspective of someone who's been in a lot of one. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and now I'm speaking from the perspective of someone who is the bride and I still stand 10 toes down on not [SPEAKER_00]: going above and beyond for these like crazy lavish like not asking your friends to spend.
[SPEAKER_00]: And insane amount of money to go on this crazy crazy trip. [SPEAKER_00]: I think if there could be boundaries to it, I think if you all want to take a trip together and you're all on board and there's a set budget. [SPEAKER_00]: That's one thing, but I think there is become this expectation that it's like I'm the bride and we're going to Turks and Kaco's and we're gonna spend a million dollars But I'm not gonna spend a million dollars.
[SPEAKER_00]: You cuz I'm the bride because I'm the bride And I'm just like I just think like so self-involved and I understand that this is an important period of time in your life But I think there's a time in a place for that and it is not you're about to [SPEAKER_00]: We can it is maybe the wedding like if you want to the wedding if you want to ask people to you know invest in a time in your life That is going to be unforgettable and maybe a destination make it your wedding.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's my two cents [SPEAKER_01]: Me too, and I just, I feel very, feel very strongly about that. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm kind of confused about the concept of Bachelor of Parties in General, if I'm being honest. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, just, just the degree at which the, the, the Pendulum is swung, it's a wild direction because I was, I was with my hair stylist the other day and when you're talking about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we were just saying that like it originated in in the form of going out the night before to celebrate your last night out. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And now it's evolved into like this entire weekend. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes more going out and spending all of this money and right now I just don't think the in this economy.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_00]: I will say it was different like the only one that I loved was like a quiet style seeing her like branded trip that like her bachelor at party became I was like okay I loved that but yeah feels very different Yeah, I think that if you can do something like that that's so different but I think if you're asking the most important women People in your life to show up for you for your day.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would recommend making it as easy, seamless [SPEAKER_00]: laid back and cost effective as possible. [SPEAKER_00]: That's just my advice because we had an incredible weekend. [SPEAKER_00]: And my sister on La Chia, she has been to so many Bachelorette weekends. [SPEAKER_00]: And she texted me the week after and she was like, I just want to say, this was my favorite experience.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was so chill. [SPEAKER_00]: That was so long. [SPEAKER_00]: It was so great. [SPEAKER_01]: I was going to give the best part. [SPEAKER_01]: It was Chia, like recapping all of the horror stories from Bachelorette. [SPEAKER_00]: Party, she's been on recently. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, yeah, you're going to leave this one and be like, oh my god, these girls are supposed to be boring.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, she loved it. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like, wow, that was so boring and it was so great. [SPEAKER_00]: It was so fun. [SPEAKER_01]: And like in that episode where we talked about boy, I was about to write. [SPEAKER_01]: Which, of course, they just go to the drag bar. [SPEAKER_01]: They sneak worry in Emily's there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Me shells there and he wants to dance. [SPEAKER_01]: Of course, it's only me. [SPEAKER_01]: He can drink. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sookies there. [SPEAKER_01]: And isn't Patty there, too, Patty. [SPEAKER_00]: Patty's there. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's not there. [SPEAKER_01]: Which was not there.
[SPEAKER_01]: She must have been busy because that Sally Struthers must not have been contractor for that day. [SPEAKER_01]: She was not contractor for that episode [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: There's no way that Amy wrote later that but that would be an Emily shower. [SPEAKER_00]: Emily is Bachelorette, but not, I don't realize.
[SPEAKER_00]: Come on, I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: It was Emily. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's a nice season two season five connection of like a Laura, Laura, Laura Lies Bachelorette and the Emily's Bachelorette quote unquote, both very chill nights. [SPEAKER_01]: But you said that you wanted to just have a big hotel sleepover and just have like a nice dinner.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's literally what we did kind of. [UNKNOWN]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: We went to Valerie in New York, which is this really, really cute gin bar. [SPEAKER_00]: It's got the same kind of roaring 20s vibes that we love and that we're also incorporating into the wedding. [SPEAKER_00]: If you're ever in Midtown, New York City, go to Valerie.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's really great. [SPEAKER_00]: They have really delicious craft cocktails and really good food. [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, the six of us went out for dinner and then I invited people who were in the city just like my gals and my pals. [SPEAKER_00]: Brett showed up at one point. [SPEAKER_00]: Nancy was there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It was great. [SPEAKER_00]: And everybody just kind of like came to say where we had a little section shout out to the girls at Valerie who helped us out with that because they were like normally you would have to like. [SPEAKER_00]: Reserve this and kind of pay deposit.
[SPEAKER_00]: There'd be a minimum, but like we got you and they were so cool and kind and we had this little area And we got dessert and we got some mocktails and it was so good so much fun And then we went back and had our little sleepover at the top over and then we did brunch and pottery and cookies and flowering and take to burn out our day [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I can't wait.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, I want to be so guys. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm really excited to see it, though, because Kai and your sister-in-law, and I were like, are we excited for the wedding or are we excited to get our pottery back from Terri? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's really hard to say. [SPEAKER_00]: They had difficult to say.
[SPEAKER_01]: They wanted to say them. [SPEAKER_01]: But we had, we had such a good time. [SPEAKER_01]: And then I was stressed most of the day, though, I'm not gonna lie because, as it turns out, there was a little thing that Terri didn't know of. [SPEAKER_01]: We kept telling her we got her stripper.
[SPEAKER_01]: At one point, we were saying it was a grinch stripper, you know, [SPEAKER_01]: And she thought we were joking because we were, but like there was something coming and she did not realize this and I was stressed beyond belief about it. [SPEAKER_01]: But the closer and closer we get to this time, the more and more stress that I have because I've not heard from this individual all day long and I'm just like, oh my gosh, I don't know what's going to happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're there in the room, we're all kind of sitting around, we've ordered dinner and I'm having an internal panic attack and we're watching Titanic as well. [SPEAKER_01]: and that both of us are thinking you want to watch and I'm like what happens here but like I'm like that that music is playing like the boat is sinking and I'm like oh my gosh like I don't hear what's going on yeah and so Tara's getting kind of like why are they just sit it why are we just sitting here this was the plan that I know about [SPEAKER_00]: We were going to get brunch, pottery, do pottery, and then we were going to Trader Joe's and my local grocery store.
[SPEAKER_00]: We were like right near my apartment to get flowers to do floral arrangements in the afternoon. [SPEAKER_00]: Like a sip and a range kind of night. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to order take out. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have a slumber party and watch like bridesmaids and some fun movies, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: And so I tried to set up the Apple TV. [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't working. [SPEAKER_00]: And so we were trying to figure out how we [SPEAKER_00]: I'm kind of like, let's start arranging flowers. [SPEAKER_00]: I ordered the food because I was like, guys, it's getting late. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, we need to eat kind of a thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: And everybody's just kind of like chillin, understandable. [SPEAKER_00]: We had had like a morning after noon situation. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes we just want a little set to [SPEAKER_00]: But eventually I was like, what are you doing? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, I can tell you were like kind of like, not frustrated, but it was just the same.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, it was just why we were just sitting here. [SPEAKER_00]: Just sitting around like, I want to do these flowers because I was starting to get stressed about the flowers for, yeah, I could tell that. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, no, okay, this isn't working out very well. [SPEAKER_01]: I go into the other room and I'm like, whisper yelling to Liz about what's going on.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, I just feel like Tara knows [SPEAKER_01]: Nothing is happening right now. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and what I had told her someone was coming. [SPEAKER_01]: I knew something was happening because you would told me Yes, but yes, but I told her that there was a PowerPoint night And I was like everyone sent me your PowerPoint and I was like I said I don't remember who was I think I was trying to text in you And I was like to now you haven't sent me your PowerPoint send it to me on your phone [SPEAKER_01]: like look at your phone and so I do start a PowerPoint and that's not what we're here for.
[SPEAKER_00]: How does it feel to be a Theo? [SPEAKER_01]: How does it feel to be a Theo? [SPEAKER_01]: And the first slide says it was only one page and it said magical. [SPEAKER_01]: And then it sounded like the FBI was trying to get into the hotel room. [SPEAKER_01]: Like truly I was like that was the most dramatic things ever happened in my life And it didn't need to and this is when Terran I got into a physical [SPEAKER_01]: And I say this mostly hyperbolicly, but apparently I put hands on each other.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like we were terror realized that I'm on a four and very quickly. [SPEAKER_00]: I realized very quickly how strong you are. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so let me paint you the picture from my perspective. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: We ordered a Chinese food and it was running quite late.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm following this on my phone on seamless and there's a code that I've been given I have to give the code Yeah, and the thing about this is that I was like this guy is probably because we're at a hotel. [SPEAKER_00]: This guy isn't coming up to our room That's probably gonna drop it off downstairs But I had given the the room number.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I'm thinking it's the Chinese guy [SPEAKER_00]: And I need to give him the code. [SPEAKER_00]: And you're like, well, first, second to volume. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: First of all, code. [SPEAKER_01]: Second of all. [SPEAKER_01]: Second of all. [SPEAKER_00]: This was dramatic.
[SPEAKER_00]: What are we doing? [SPEAKER_00]: So Gerardo goes to the door and I thought it was the land. [SPEAKER_00]: And Haley blocks me with her body. [SPEAKER_01]: Here's the problem. [SPEAKER_01]: I had my phone out to record Tara's reaction, y'all, because I was going to show all of you the reaction to this.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I had to very quickly not, because I was like, I have been stressed out for the last two and a half hours. [SPEAKER_01]: You were not walking any further. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and Tara's getting actually frustrated. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, hey, stop. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I have the code.
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even look on. [SPEAKER_00]: She was like, no, no, no, no, no, let him handle it. [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, no, no, like, I'm not scared. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was like, I'm not scared of this man. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to give him the code. [SPEAKER_00]: And you're like, Tara, stop.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if you don't stop. [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, well, Lee, like, body, no, you put- I said, over my dead body, you literally were like, no. [SPEAKER_00]: It was so, in hindsight, very funny. [SPEAKER_00]: But I was genuinely, I was one concerned, two frustrated, three, like, I'm not scared of no one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I need to go to this door and be like, first of all, don't ever bang on our door like that. [SPEAKER_00]: Second of all, [SPEAKER_00]: Here's your code, chill, but you were, you were a human blockade. [SPEAKER_00]: I was not going to let you walk past me.
[SPEAKER_00]: But in that moment, I couldn't like, I wasn't putting two and two together that there was something at the door for me. [SPEAKER_00]: And I thought you were trying to block me from going to tell this guy, [SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't care. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't think on our door. [SPEAKER_01]: If anyone's going to come big on our door, like that, I actually want to send her to the door.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's two. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, right now, because then Nancy walked in. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was standing in the middle of the room. [SPEAKER_01]: And it really was like a tranquilizer for you. [SPEAKER_01]: Like you were suddenly like, okay, to stand where you were. [SPEAKER_01]: And I kind of just like pushed you back to the couch.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was like, okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Hello. [SPEAKER_00]: And I just, I said, what are you doing here? [SPEAKER_01]: And she goes, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's like truly on Nancy, like thank God for Nancy, because the background to this, because what's about to happen, Tara doesn't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: She thinks she knows, but she doesn't. [SPEAKER_01]: Because we have of course been talking about Shripple today, but Nancy was going to be downstairs to meet this person, and so I was texting her, and she was the one who was going to receive the cue to be like knock on the door when I sent this text message.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the day before, I had knocked on the door several times while the girl is chatting, and they didn't hear me. [SPEAKER_01]: So I said, be sure to knock a little bit louder so that we can hear you. [SPEAKER_01]: And that is how the FBI knock happened. [SPEAKER_01]: And I literally turned to the side and I was like, no, okay, that was not what I was talking about.
[SPEAKER_01]: But upon meeting this person, I was like, that makes sense for them. [SPEAKER_01]: Because it was not a stripper who came in after Nancy, it was none other than a magician. [SPEAKER_00]: But you guys this guy walked in and I truly was like, oh my god, they called me a stripper. [SPEAKER_00]: The really interesting part is over my mouth was like [SPEAKER_00]: They weren't joking.
[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't joking. [SPEAKER_01]: No, cuz see I told him I was like the other girls think that she'll think he's a stripper And I said no he Ter is gonna take one look at this man and be like, haily got me a magician Nope But I just too many hints and Tara also saw Nancy and was like, oh, maybe haily invited Brett to come strip for me [SPEAKER_01]: Guys that would be an option.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let me invite Brett's mom, Brett. [SPEAKER_01]: All of Tara's friends, and Tara. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's have her fiance, soon to be a husband strip for all of us. [SPEAKER_01]: Or even weirder, let's have him strip for her alone. [SPEAKER_00]: While we're all sitting and she walked in, I just, I was so confused.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, is Brett also [SPEAKER_01]: He was originally going to come, but he ended up not. [SPEAKER_01]: And so there was a part of me that was like, oh my god, what would she thought he did walk in? [SPEAKER_01]: And then Tony, the magician walks in after him. [SPEAKER_01]: What would she think?
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it was going to be, because when I told them, it was actually after the Kelly Bishop event. [SPEAKER_01]: I said, go back, you did. [SPEAKER_01]: Me and we were on the track. [SPEAKER_00]: We were on the track. [SPEAKER_00]: We were on the station platform at Penn Station. [SPEAKER_00]: She was being goes, go away.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I told them I said, I got a magician. [SPEAKER_01]: And they were beside themselves. [SPEAKER_01]: Does anyone would be when I told them I got a magician and so we had an hour-long show with our friend Tony who Put on a show. [SPEAKER_01]: He made things disappear. [SPEAKER_01]: He made things appear.
[SPEAKER_01]: He swallowed things and made them appear out of his eyeball [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he pulled a TikTok out of his eye, and that was a little bit harder. [SPEAKER_01]: He said, it only goes up from here, and he said, how? [SPEAKER_00]: I think you need to stay by saying, I've gone to the hospital three times doing this trick.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then he swallowed a TikTok and pulled it out of his eye. [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, where do we go from here? [SPEAKER_01]: He swallowed a TikTok. [SPEAKER_01]: He taught himself how to swallow a TikTok to go through his sinuses. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, now his eye. [SPEAKER_01]: And I said, why did you choose the spiciest one?
[SPEAKER_00]: Because it was the smallest and the smallest he tried to do with an orange one and it was just a bigger. [SPEAKER_00]: But I said, there's got to be something that you are. [SPEAKER_01]: Like a nerd or something? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, there's got to be someone nerd. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I get lost though. [SPEAKER_00]: And I get lost. [SPEAKER_00]: Some nerds. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, why is it got to be the spiciest thing you could think of, which is white tic-tac? [SPEAKER_01]: But he did it. [SPEAKER_01]: And I said, oh, we are going places this evening. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, wow.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to take us places, my guy. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was Hayley and I, we have footage, we'll definitely post it, but we just kind of stared at each other. [SPEAKER_01]: I like it was him, various points where I was like a witch. [SPEAKER_01]: His mom's from the Salem witch trials.
[SPEAKER_01]: I said, like I was like, I don't know how this is happening, but like he was making cards disappear and his hand. [SPEAKER_01]: Like he was tapping them and they were going away. [SPEAKER_01]: And it was right in front of my face and I still don't understand, don't either. [SPEAKER_01]: At all, under any circumstances, do I understand what happened here?
[SPEAKER_01]: No, it was bridled. [SPEAKER_01]: It was magical. [SPEAKER_00]: It was magical. [SPEAKER_00]: Of phenomenal. [SPEAKER_00]: It was so fun. [SPEAKER_00]: It was something. [SPEAKER_01]: It was really interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: Wow, she will not be having a magician at her wedding. [SPEAKER_01]: She should, we all know she should.
[SPEAKER_01]: But this is the closest I could get. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was brilliant. [SPEAKER_00]: It was really brilliant. [SPEAKER_01]: And even when you said, it's going to be magical. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I did not clock it. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I was dropping Easter eggs along the way because we were planning that night I said, oh my gosh, we should watch practical magic and just have a magic on the evening And I was like haily-ealing and I'm way too thick.
[SPEAKER_01]: She knows she knows at this point. [SPEAKER_00]: Many, no idea because I love practical magic. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I know, much practical magic. [SPEAKER_00]: But I thought bridesmaids was such a good idea for the film we should watch. [SPEAKER_00]: But man, what a time. [SPEAKER_00]: So the reason that all of this got as delayed as it did is because the magician was running late.
[SPEAKER_00]: But didn't, didn't tell Haley. [SPEAKER_00]: And he didn't. [SPEAKER_00]: And Haley was so stressed out. [SPEAKER_01]: And I hadn't heard from him all day. [SPEAKER_01]: And like it was like he's been, so it's been 7.30. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like seven, 7.15, 7.20, 7.25. [SPEAKER_01]: And he texted me after 7.30.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was like, oh my train's are delayed. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, the magical trains. [SPEAKER_01]: Because you just appeared on me. [SPEAKER_01]: They were a second. [SPEAKER_01]: and he did he showed up and he gave it a great show he did um yeah we had such a good time he should audition for the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders he really should um did did a nice little split at the end the split jump yeah crazy had a cardin issue yeah i don't know how it got there i imagine he put it there at some point but or it was magic it was magic it was magic there was one trick haily figured out [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I had seen it before, and so when he did it, I was, there's this thing that you're supposed to distract everyone to pull their attention away, but I was facing them, and I was like, oh, he's about to do it right now, and he did it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, oh, and then I told everyone afterwards, [SPEAKER_01]: But I won't tell any of you now. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I did not ruin any of Tony's tricks, truth. [SPEAKER_00]: But I did, I didn't know that one, that one. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I only, I did almost, because everyone was a hilly.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was how really did that really happen. [SPEAKER_01]: I literally grabbed you. [SPEAKER_01]: I went and looked in your eyeballs and I said, did that happen? [SPEAKER_01]: I did that. [SPEAKER_01]: You nodded your head and I was just like, is she taking a back by what just happened? [SPEAKER_01]: No, I was trying to decide if I should ruin it in the morning.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And I chose later. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that was a good idea. [SPEAKER_01]: But we still had a great, it was a great time. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm still very befuddled by various parts of... [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_01]: Very talented magician that Tony still don't know what he did or how he did it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So So there's only the one that I knew and the second one I kind of assumed there was the one that I won't I won't say anything Yeah, I don't want to ruin any of which but the one where he was making the cards disappear from the deck in a Yeah, that was pretty crazy my that was pretty crazy.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's still beyond me. [SPEAKER_01]: But it'll be on to me [SPEAKER_01]: When I was talking about getting the magician when we were in Ann Arbor, everyone was like, what's it, Taylor Docey? [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, oh, if only. [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: This is also where I realized that Adam Wiley is a magician.
[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know this. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And when I found this out, I said, oh, I messed up. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I messed up. [SPEAKER_01]: Could you imagine if Brad [SPEAKER_01]: Lankford walked in after Nancy if Brad Lankford walked in I would have lost it I didn't find it would have thought he was a stripper, and then I I brought Brad Lankford bum bum to remove his clothes for you [SPEAKER_01]: No, I just, I couldn't, I couldn't believe that I didn't know he was cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because that would have been simply insane. [SPEAKER_01]: It would have been really, really funny. [SPEAKER_00]: No, but we, we asked him if he knew Adam because Adam is a magician. [SPEAKER_00]: Adam played red like bird. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: And she does, they really did some of the similar circles.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that was really, really funny. [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, oh, but I didn't know until that moment. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Tony was fantastic. [SPEAKER_00]: Nothing against Tony. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, she was just, it's just, it's Adam, why? [SPEAKER_00]: Everybody here knows the Lord.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was great for the Lord. [SPEAKER_00]: It was great for the Lord. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I was like, oh, my God. [SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't believe that I didn't know that, but yeah, we're Godless. [SPEAKER_01]: Very fun. [SPEAKER_01]: Very good time. [SPEAKER_01]: Very different bachelor at than the Gilmore girllies we're having.
[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't call anyone in the middle of this one. [SPEAKER_00]: No, we didn't. [SPEAKER_00]: It's true. [SPEAKER_00]: There was no one to call. [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone was there. [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone was there. [SPEAKER_00]: We just hung out. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I did wish Tony would have called sooner, but yeah, that's the one call we wish that we could have had.
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, no, we then after he left, we ate our Chinese food because, of course, it showed up in the middle of his act, of course. [SPEAKER_00]: And, but like, we were going to watch a movie, but all we could talk about was what it, what did we just eat? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so we just yapped.
[SPEAKER_00]: We were up both nights until like one in the morning just chatting. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It was perfect. [SPEAKER_00]: Our hotel room was just right. [SPEAKER_00]: It was so nice. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And then the next morning we got up. [SPEAKER_00]: We got our matches.
[SPEAKER_00]: We went to the shower and the shower. [SPEAKER_00]: Right about that opened cracked open my finger to get its own up and then we are. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, Champagne, little finger crack open, you know, all the best thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, all the things we would expect. [SPEAKER_01]: But something that Laura Lye and Emily talked about at the Batrelet was that Emily wanted to try on her wedding dress every night.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that was like a big signifier for Laura Lye that she did not want to marry Max because she didn't want to try on her wedding dress. [SPEAKER_01]: What do you think that meant overall to Laura Lye that she didn't want to try her dress on? [SPEAKER_00]: I think for her it was like I'm not excited about getting married.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's what it was supposed to mean. [SPEAKER_01]: There's no gettingness to this. [SPEAKER_01]: There's no like hope for being his wife. [SPEAKER_01]: It was, yeah, just she started to question why she was doing this, I felt. [SPEAKER_01]: yeah like she saw the marriage that her parents had and like was hearing about like the beginnings of it like right before it happened and being like whoa I don't think this is gonna last 40 years maybe like I don't feel that same way like yeah [SPEAKER_00]: I think it was less about the, like, act of trying on your wedding dress every night.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was the excitement and the sparkle in Emily's eyes that she had while talking about it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: That as they were talking about it at the Bachelor at Party. [SPEAKER_00]: Laura, I was like, yeah, I'm excited. [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be fun. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I like have I thought about this? [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: And like throughout that entire episode, there are several things she isn't quite considered, and it's kind of like super rude. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but in that moment, I do think it's the wistfulness and Emily's demeanor and her eyes that [SPEAKER_00]: Laura Lye realized that she doesn't have.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's about the act of trying on your running dress every night. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think it's more of like what that symbolized from. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, because in least been almost married for 40 years, and she's still talking about it with this like romantic, like mindset of like just full of love for this person in this moment, those about to take place.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it prompts everybody to call their significant other. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Laura Lye took all Christopher. [SPEAKER_00]: Ah, that's so funny. [SPEAKER_00]: Why are she doing that stuff? [SPEAKER_01]: Why would you get it? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's how we knew. [SPEAKER_01]: That's, I didn't want to try my wedding dress every night.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to call Chris. [SPEAKER_01]: Hmm. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she couldn't say that out loud. [SPEAKER_01]: She shouldn't say the other one. [SPEAKER_01]: It's true. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's kind of, yeah, because, you know, Truth be told, there's part of me that's like, I don't want to try my wedding dress on every night.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot, it's a tall task. [SPEAKER_01]: It's actually simply kind of stressful. [SPEAKER_00]: Kind of seems a little stressful. [SPEAKER_00]: I would do it to curb my anxiety. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd be suaky in the middle of the night, wearing my wedding dress to make sure that it's like, [SPEAKER_00]: everything still fits everything still right.
[SPEAKER_00]: I had a dream. [SPEAKER_00]: The veil was too short. [SPEAKER_00]: The train was too short. [SPEAKER_00]: Someone cut this. [SPEAKER_00]: Someone cut that. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm serving salmon puffs. [SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be. [SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be in the hotel park. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm serving salmon puffs.
[SPEAKER_00]: 100% we're going to be like, no, you're not. [SPEAKER_01]: You're not. [SPEAKER_00]: You're not coming back to that. [SPEAKER_01]: But I feel like that's kind of like the almost really the last wedding episode until we get to Tisketa task it because like we have the road trip to Harvard, which is the ramifications of not after having the wedding dress, but it doesn't really have anything to do it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we get to a Tisketa task it and this is something that in the wedding episode we kind of like we had [SPEAKER_01]: Similar opinions, but like different enough that I think I said in the episode. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't like Jackson Which is weird because I like you like Jackson. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that was why I didn't like it But you really liked this because of just how like casual it is how romantic it feels that there is a picnic He just bought her basket back.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's just this like cute nature to it Meanwhile, I was like yeah, he didn't buy her basket He was being such a petty little brat about it. [SPEAKER_01]: He was like, okay, now let's get married and I was like [SPEAKER_01]: And I remember being like, well, I don't really like Jackson, which I don't feel that way anymore, but I still feel very similarly about that proposal.
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you still feel the same about that proposal? [SPEAKER_00]: I do, because I think that two things can be true at once. [SPEAKER_00]: I totally agree with you that he was being petty and pachelent, and that she wasn't being forthcoming and what she wanted, but he also wasn't being forthcoming with her at the beginning of the episode, and he's like, my least is up in my apartment, and I'm wondering if I should resign.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, well, do you like your apartment? [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: She's like, okay, then we sign your lease. [SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't come right out and say what he wants until he proposes to her. [SPEAKER_00]: No, but then he's like, doesn't buy her basket that she specifically prepared for him.
[SPEAKER_00]: 100% agree. [SPEAKER_00]: I think he was being petty. [SPEAKER_00]: But I think once they resolve things, I appreciate that the directness comes out. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's what I love the most about the proposal is that it's yes, casual, but that he just pops. [SPEAKER_00]: Not really the question.
[SPEAKER_00]: He pops the statement. [SPEAKER_00]: He says, I think we should get married because he kind of likes her out a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's I think it's a little cute. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to be psyched out admittedly. [SPEAKER_00]: No, I get that. [SPEAKER_00]: I get that.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that he's like, no, I don't really think we should move in together. [SPEAKER_00]: I think what she get married and I think he's just like very direct about it in a way that he wasn't doing at the beginning of the episode, which I think is a little bit a little bit of growth.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know we're still feeling this. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know we've mixed feelings about Jackson on this podcast, but I still love that proposal. [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's one of my faves. [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's one of the best, like the greatest. [SPEAKER_00]: The fact that her responses are you pregnant.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is so good. [SPEAKER_01]: It's so good. [SPEAKER_01]: She's so good. [SPEAKER_00]: I cry every time I watch that proposal. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just so good. [SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like out of context, it's really good, too. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just like such a sweet, it's a sweetest of all of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Which we said, but we also shared our thoughts about getting engaged, which was that we didn't want to flash mom. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: He's yellow. [SPEAKER_00]: Intimate to clash Bob. [SPEAKER_00]: We wanted something like maybe in between close to the intimacy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Looser to intimate. [SPEAKER_01]: But I said I would be okay with one person there and that was Taylor Swift. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you disagreed and said that you were not okay with Taylor Swift being there. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And then Taylor. [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry Taylor. [SPEAKER_01]: You wanted it to be just the two of you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because you felt like it was a reflection of them knowing you. [SPEAKER_01]: And we said something along the lines of like, whoever we marry will just have to come back and listen to this episode. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you know if Brett went back and listened to it? [SPEAKER_01]: I know Nancy.
[SPEAKER_00]: I wrote that down. [SPEAKER_01]: I said, well, I know Nancy did. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that better? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if Brett did because I know that Brett was trying really hard not to spoil. [SPEAKER_00]: Because at that point, we were only in season six. [SPEAKER_00]: Famously, then I prefer who proposed to me.
[SPEAKER_00]: We just watched Why Did You Drop Out Of Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh. [SPEAKER_01]: I think so, right. [SPEAKER_00]: I think Nancy went back and listened to it for him. [SPEAKER_00]: She's like, I remember telling me about that. [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, you talked about your like what you would want in a proposal.
[SPEAKER_00]: and so she'd gone back and listen to it. [SPEAKER_00]: And luckily, like my taste hadn't changed. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like luckily this was pretty much fundamentally who I was. [SPEAKER_00]: The proposal is you guys all heard about last year. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it was perfect. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was perfect.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: And there's an element that I was listening to back. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, terrible. [SPEAKER_01]: I haven't changed any for taste. [SPEAKER_01]: The metal. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Hair. [SPEAKER_01]: Lots of eras, lots of eras, but tastes, that one's pretty much the same.
[SPEAKER_00]: It stayed the same. [SPEAKER_01]: I did talk about what I wanted for my wedding, and that's still the same. [SPEAKER_01]: South of France, pink dress, everyone's wearing white and black, and I love. [SPEAKER_01]: There's just something about that that I was like listening back, and I was like, that is still exactly what I would want.
[SPEAKER_01]: I have it all planned out. [SPEAKER_01]: I have the kitchen aid mixer picked out. [SPEAKER_01]: Just gotta find the man. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, there you go. [SPEAKER_01]: And then certain him in and hope he's fine with that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that thought it all through 17th. [SPEAKER_00]: In January 17th.
[SPEAKER_00]: In January 17th. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And if he's not, I feel like it. [SPEAKER_01]: And there was the field done quite a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: It does. [SPEAKER_00]: But if you guys know anybody. [SPEAKER_00]: and fits into that kind of man, specifically. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's just really hard because I don't think a Sagittarius and a Capricorn romanticly really works well together, but that's what I would have to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's, you have to. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to. [SPEAKER_01]: You have no other choice. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't. [SPEAKER_01]: Like a fireside in an earth sign, scorched earth. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: that might not go well. [SPEAKER_00]: Interesting.
[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, yeah, I think that he like luckily my taste hadn't changed very very much at all because the proposal was perfect. [SPEAKER_00]: It was the on a scale of of private to flash mob. [SPEAKER_00]: It was perfect because we had our private moment and then my entire family walked in with his family walk.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but like that the surprise of that is exactly what I wanted. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's what I wanted. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, Harry, on a junior, exactly, it was perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: Perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: So we didn't see Sukey tell Laura, I how she got engaged. [SPEAKER_01]: That was like one of the things that like we were disappointed in between like a basket of task and that uncle's on vegetables.
[SPEAKER_01]: When we do see Emily and Sukey kind of wedding planning, how do you think she told her? [SPEAKER_00]: I just imagine it happening similar with a tell Laura, I told Sukey she was engaged. [SPEAKER_00]: Just older. [SPEAKER_00]: Just like walked into the kitchen. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I'm engaged.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Or Jackson came in. [SPEAKER_00]: And he was like, Oh, did you tell her? [SPEAKER_00]: Tell me what? [SPEAKER_00]: Also possible. [SPEAKER_01]: But in the next, the next like wedding related episode is that I'm close to vegetables when Emily kind of takes over sort of wedding planning a little bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: It goes a ride, but ultimately it ends with Emily in the diner kind of [SPEAKER_01]: Not getting mad at Lorelei, but kind of just confronting her about the fact that she's not helping Suki anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: And Lorelei feels very much like she was trying to plan. [SPEAKER_01]: Lorelei's wedding with Suki.
[SPEAKER_01]: And she says, no, you would have had a Russian winter theme, like the Roman offs. [SPEAKER_01]: And for me, I feel like that would have been perfect for Lorelei. [SPEAKER_01]: I smell snow. [SPEAKER_01]: Drop the Russian, just winter. [SPEAKER_01]: I smell snow. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that that would have been?
[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think she was like right to assume that like her receptional was the diner? [SPEAKER_01]: Or do you think that she should have had a winter wedding? [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think that all all of them can be true. [SPEAKER_00]: Like yeah, because there's a, there's a time and a place for everything.
[SPEAKER_00]: There are so many ways in which like our wedding that Brett and I are having right now could be different. [SPEAKER_00]: It could be taking place somewhere else. [SPEAKER_00]: It could be [SPEAKER_00]: it could have a different theme. [SPEAKER_00]: But like, this is the era of our lives that we're in right now where we want, like, a New York boring, 20-style, old-classic wedding.
[SPEAKER_00]: But there's a world where it could have been a little more whimsical and somewhere else. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that for Laura Lye, like, her mom is spot on, that a winter theme would be perfect for her. [SPEAKER_00]: But also, she's marrying someone like Luke a small town vibe might be the case.
[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, the whimsical wedding that we ended up with her and Luke having was also very [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that all of them can be true. [SPEAKER_00]: I think Emily was right, though. [SPEAKER_01]: I think Emily was right, too, because Loyla actually has quite like she's a kind of expensive taste.
[SPEAKER_01]: She has like certain hangups about things like backpacking through Europe on my surprise that she wanted to do that at the end of the day, maybe her what she can afford on her own is not necessarily aligned with what her taste is. [SPEAKER_01]: And so I don't think she cares so much that it would be in the diner.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think that she would prefer something like ultimately what happens with June 3rd. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think she would have had a summer wedding. [SPEAKER_01]: I do think she should have had a winter wedding. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's interesting, she ends up having a fall wedding.
[SPEAKER_01]: Jeans of having a fall wedding. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, I guess it's November, so it is fall. [SPEAKER_01]: But like honestly, it can be so honest when you said that the whimsacle wedding felt very them. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it did. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it felt very Amy Sherman.
[SPEAKER_00]: It felt Amy very Amy. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I'm totally okay with that being the way that happened. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it was either fluke or lower life. [SPEAKER_00]: I would think a case for it to be lower, it's not really fluke, but it's Amy. [SPEAKER_00]: It was Amy. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm fine with that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's what Amy was in Wonderland. [SPEAKER_01]: Amy in Wonderland, absolutely. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, much like Alice. [SPEAKER_01]: But I do, I do feel like that was. [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like Midge Measel's wedding was lower life. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, at least the one the Emily maybe Emily went to that wedding.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm a psych or something. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, this is what I was wedding. [SPEAKER_00]: I can totally say that 100%. [SPEAKER_00]: I will also say that like dead uncles and vegetables is a great representation of the other side of wedding planning because it is very fun, but there is an element to it that can kind of get a little out of hand.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're not careful. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought you meant the funeral. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like wedding in death. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I was not on a wedding. [SPEAKER_00]: Funeral. [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's in, you know, suki and Emily all over town and sampling things and suki getting carried away because she's in the company of Emily who has this very extravagant taste and is looking at suki as kind of the surrogate daughter even if she doesn't want to emit to it.
[SPEAKER_00]: and I love that they use that as kind of an example here in a way that I didn't quite focus on until we were prepping for this episode. [SPEAKER_00]: Now it's like, oh, I love that dead uncle's and vegetables is a representation of the wedding industry and how lavish and out of, you know, out of pocket it can be for someone who is more small town homegrown like [SPEAKER_00]: This isn't us like I want her to be happy, but what is happening right now?
[SPEAKER_00]: Like remember that really small simple wedding we planned, look at them measuring the talent. [SPEAKER_01]: I know and I remember him saying something like Emily's tape measure costs more than his call. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's like it's gold, it's like it's platinum with gold leaf across more than my car.
[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: So you know how things can quickly get out of hand when it comes to weddings. [SPEAKER_00]: How lucky Laurel I and Suki were that they worked at a venue where they could have a built-in situation, like, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: When they're sampling the cakes for Laurel I am Max's wedding in episode three at the beginning.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Fran has all these cakes coming out for them and worries like, hey, is it wrong that we're doing this when Suki is making your wedding cake for free? [SPEAKER_00]: a wedding cake for free that's huge having a free venue at the end or doing it in the backyard which I think was the plan having the free venue for sukey it being at the end and that being able to like source a lot of these things it's a gift it's a nice gift it's a eating because wrong when I don't want to be right I was like yeah but friends paying those cakes right no I know friends my friends [SPEAKER_00]: even when Suki is like oh yeah I just say like I just say no when this all goes away with all the samplings that Emily got it's like yeah but someone has to pay for those things yeah at the end of the day you know the day you're not really doing it but I thought it was a really cool way to um
[SPEAKER_00]: to show the other side of planning wedding. [SPEAKER_01]: I know, I think so too. [SPEAKER_01]: I also like that when we get to, I can't get started, that that is called, I can't get started because they're trying to decide on the music for them. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, there's just something that I just, like, it doesn't actually make sense as a wedding song.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's also a, I forget what it is. [SPEAKER_01]: There's an Olivia Dean song right now about breaking up. [SPEAKER_01]: that everyone is dancing to at their wedding because it sounds beautiful. [SPEAKER_01]: It's fucking Libya, Dean. [SPEAKER_01]: It's fantastic. [SPEAKER_01]: Every word the name of this, but it's like about people breaking up.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, oh, perhaps interesting choice. [SPEAKER_01]: Feel like they're doing my way about. [SPEAKER_01]: I can't get started, but when you find what you want, you go with it. [SPEAKER_00]: I had to say I'm having kind of a suky moment right now. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want this song to be played at my wedding, but there is a song by this artist named Ash, A-S-H. A-S-H-E. Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Called Stop the Wedding, and it's so catchy. [SPEAKER_00]: And I've been like, it's been stuck in my head because it keeps coming up with my Instagram. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, if Brett sees us, he's going to think that I'm like about till the, like, I'm about to pull a jewelry or Roberts and run away, but I think that you, like, maybe come out in a second outfit.
[SPEAKER_00]: right. [SPEAKER_00]: So fun though. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a really fun song that I'm just it's it's kind of hilarious because if anybody heard me listening to that song to be like Tara, Tara, when are you listening to? [SPEAKER_01]: Now it reminds me of about time when he wanted her to walk down the aisle to that one song and she was like absolutely not and then she does.
[SPEAKER_00]: Have you seen about time? [SPEAKER_01]: Tara, your dad's going to be very upset. [SPEAKER_01]: Stop the wedding, stop the episode. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's go watch about time. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to watch about time for your wedding. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, too. [SPEAKER_01]: And we'll have not long, actually 12 days.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's it. [SPEAKER_01]: To do it. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's such a good one. [SPEAKER_01]: I love I can't get started ending season two because like we talked about it ends with a wedding that we did not start with the couple engaged with. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like kind of like a mid-season proposal that we end this wedding with and something that we talked about that we pulled from this wedding that like we both latched onto was having non-uniform bridesmaids looks.
[SPEAKER_01]: where they were the same color, but not the same dress because you were like, I don't want matchy matchy, I don't like matchy matchy, and if that isn't what we're doing. [SPEAKER_01]: I just thought it was my favorite part of listening back to the weddings episode because I was like, oh my god, that's what we're doing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, that's what we did. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, that's what's happening. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, that is exactly what's going on. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because we talked about to about Gilmore influences in your wedding and you're like, I don't really have any. [SPEAKER_01]: There weren't any like monumental wedding moments from Gilmore girls that feel like they transitioned over to what you wanted.
[SPEAKER_01]: Versus like in 2012, you would have totally had a thousand yellow days of use. [SPEAKER_01]: But now you're like, well, that's not really what I want. [SPEAKER_01]: That's not really like the taste store. [SPEAKER_01]: The sentiment that you want from a man who she didn't get married to and like maybe that's the thought process.
[SPEAKER_01]: But like, I think for the most part, there's not [SPEAKER_00]: really any Gilmore touches? [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: There are a couple of songs that are going to play that are that have some Gilmore touches to them. [SPEAKER_00]: But on the whole I would say, yeah, no like true Gilmore influences that I was like this has to happen at my wedding because you know I was inspired by X, Y, Z thing that I saw on the show.
[SPEAKER_00]: but I will say kind of speaking to what I was talking about in regards to like Emily knowing what Laura likes taste is and what her wedding went up looked like and if Emily was right like there's a part of my heart that would have loved to do like a little homegrown backyard like at an in kind of something like that um but i think that doing in in New York is going to be so true and authentic to the two of my art yeah [SPEAKER_01]: I think that's one of the things that's like you can get caught up in throwing a wedding versus like throwing a celebration of your marriage, which very clearly might taste as throwing a wedding, not throwing a celebration of any one's relationship.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: I mean it might change, but I feel like we talked something we talked about it like 2012 view. [SPEAKER_01]: She would have planned a very different wedding for the two of you. [SPEAKER_01]: Chevron, plum, purple, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow,
[SPEAKER_00]: It would have looked very different at Donut Wall, Mason jars, like I was a classic 2012 pride. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I'm so sorry. [SPEAKER_01]: We should bring back Donut Walls though. [SPEAKER_00]: I love a Donut Wall. [SPEAKER_00]: I love a Donut Wall. [SPEAKER_00]: More than Wall, it should be Donut Towers?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're totally right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the one thing we can keep. [SPEAKER_00]: More Wall should be made of Donut for sure, put it on the show shirt. [SPEAKER_00]: It might have been structurally sound, but hey, if that's not tasty, it's my number one quality in a wall. [SPEAKER_01]: But no, I just feel like this version of you that's getting married is very different than the version of you who is under your covers wanting to marry Jess Mariano, but like it being a day look at it, you know, yeah, you know close one eye and maybe that's my live end to Amelia.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what they say. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what they say about him. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what's tagline. [SPEAKER_00]: You can pick which eye to close, too. [SPEAKER_01]: Squint real hard and that's it, man. [SPEAKER_01]: That is him. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the Nancy version of, it's like, you know, we call it like the Costco, the Kirkland Signature version.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just the Nancy version. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: Of my love and to Amelia. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, one hundred percent. [SPEAKER_00]: We thank her for it. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, Nancy. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, Nancy. [SPEAKER_01]: But all of that to say is like, let's take a real season two celebration of your wedding, your favorite season in terms of the show, in terms of seasonal throughout the year, of the four seasons, and also wedding season.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's just all tied in with a bow and here's the thing of everyone here listening to this podcast talking on the podcast you and I get to go to the wedding, but not all of our besties do, they'll see a nice recap, but I thought it might be fun to do what we didn't an arbor where we kind of [SPEAKER_01]: It's mad lib is the wrong word, but like we're going to do is almost like the tiktok filter where you cycle through to see who's going to be the bride, who's going to be the groom, that sort of thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I have a little bowl here, a little popcorn bowl with a nice little bag. [SPEAKER_01]: She's so cute. [SPEAKER_01]: This is your Valentine's Day if you were Valentine's Day. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you were with us. [SPEAKER_01]: I've never laughed so hard in my own entire life and that's why we did this in Ann Arbor.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it was quite fun because our best news got to take a whole bunch of fun. [SPEAKER_01]: But in this, in this poll, this, I actually don't even remember what names are in this because like, this, I think in Ann Arbor, we have like 150 names. [SPEAKER_01]: There's way more in this one.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's duplicates because it's going to be quite fun when we figure out who in Terras wedding party is like doubled up, you know, because Terras of course will be the bride. [SPEAKER_01]: And then we are going to fill out the rest of the wedding party, the caterer, et cetera. [SPEAKER_01]: We're really going to plan Terras wedding here.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this will be the wedding that all of you get to attend, you know, let's do it, let's do it. [SPEAKER_01]: Let me pull out my list of all of the positions that one might have in a wedding. [SPEAKER_01]: So, of course, we start with Tara as the bride, but who will be the wedding planner?
[SPEAKER_00]: Who is it gonna be? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, who's so nervous. [SPEAKER_00]: Mori, oh, it's going to be a very musical wedding. [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be very musical. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I will say that like one of Brett's stipulations when it came to the music was he really, really wanted the music to tell a story and like to be the through line of our wedding.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like if there's any Gilmore references, it's in the music. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's in the music. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I also have an idea to do, like, as we're getting ready. [SPEAKER_01]: I have some contenty things that we're going to play. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to talk about.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but more, I also feel like he's going to, it's going to be better. [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be, yeah, it's true. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, this was who is going to make Tara's wedding dress. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, oh, four just popped out. [SPEAKER_01]: So this is a group effort.
[SPEAKER_01]: A group of four seamstresses just like Emily working around the clock. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, Miss Patty is one love. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, she's perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: Andrew. [SPEAKER_01]: I. Oh, he's got a nice book about it for sure. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Caesar. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, which one?
[SPEAKER_01]: deal a choice. [SPEAKER_00]: And Hanlon Charleston. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wow. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, Miss Patty's really going to be taking the lead on this one. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, who's to say, maybe Hanlon has something in his back pocket? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Biddy's always under the desk.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's so true. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Annlon's hands are ripe for making one addresses. [SPEAKER_01]: Hanlon's hands. [SPEAKER_01]: That is literally what his business, [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God. [SPEAKER_01]: And Master Weddings is really what it's called, oh man. [SPEAKER_01]: And now the officiant, who is going to be marrying you?
[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't picked out the groom either. [SPEAKER_00]: I was gonna say, we're really buried in the lead here on the really, really, really in the lead. [SPEAKER_00]: Who is gonna be marrying you? [SPEAKER_00]: Jess. [SPEAKER_01]: Jasmy, who is he going to be marrying you, too? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I wanted it to be him.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, maybe he's in here. [SPEAKER_01]: He's in here. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, let's really mix it up. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's get one from the bottom. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my gosh. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure it's so stressed out. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Who could it be? [SPEAKER_00]: Who could it be?
[SPEAKER_00]: What if it's him? [SPEAKER_01]: All right, so we said, and we saw his tickets too. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and the prize will be very much only seems to be walking on the aisles. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, like, what does he think he's going to cry? [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to cry. [SPEAKER_01]: He's a cat.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a cry. [SPEAKER_01]: He said, oh, what a bummer of a groom. [SPEAKER_01]: That's okay. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure you can say. [SPEAKER_00]: He's a very nice man. [SPEAKER_00]: He's a very nice man. [SPEAKER_00]: This is your made of honor. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Logan. [SPEAKER_01]: Cute.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: I know we've had a lot of bad things to say about Bachelet parties, but he is going to throw great one. [SPEAKER_00]: You guys are going to Turks and Cacos and all on his dad's dime and honestly I'm fine with that. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Now who is Ed's best mate?
[SPEAKER_00]: I literally can't believe you're marrying Ed. [SPEAKER_00]: and who had the face you made when you pulled out that piece of paper, I was like, first I was like, Ed Herman, I was like, yeah, I was like, who's Ed? [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: So many people are listening to this podcast right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Who is Ed? [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have to flash a picture of Ed of the segment on YouTube. [SPEAKER_00]: So y'all can go see because you're going to be like, and who's Ed? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, one hundred percent. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: What is it? [SPEAKER_01]: Ed, that's us, man.
[SPEAKER_01]: Ed, that's us, man. [SPEAKER_01]: Ed, that's us, man. [SPEAKER_01]: The with and hoops. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wow. [SPEAKER_00]: Talk about a musical wedding, morey's throughout. [SPEAKER_01]: It really is a musical wedding. [SPEAKER_01]: What would it take us to? [SPEAKER_01]: Was it a baseball game?
[SPEAKER_01]: Is that where Ed was going? [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't a good start. [SPEAKER_01]: Wow, Luke, I never accepting anything free from you again. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: So my date to the wedding. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Cause in this world, I also exist.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, of course. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Honor. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you an honor. [SPEAKER_01]: I guess we have a shall be fun. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and like it seems like we're all quite close if Logan is your mate of honor. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe right. [SPEAKER_01]: With me, but it's like a fun group. [SPEAKER_00]: She's gonna hook you up with her brother. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love that for us. [SPEAKER_00]: He couldn't be your date because he's my made of honor Oh my gosh, so I'm she could be a wing woman. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, or like he didn't want her to be by herself The wedding so she's my date, but I'm actually going with the made of honor.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's so there you go I love that but the made of honor, you know, I mean, yeah, I love that for you the flower girl the flower girl [SPEAKER_00]: Lulu. [SPEAKER_00]: Cute. [SPEAKER_00]: You guys we realized that Lulu was in bringing on the other night. [SPEAKER_00]: The two of us realized it on the same day.
[SPEAKER_00]: Separately, but within hours of each other. [SPEAKER_00]: But within hours of each other and texting each other about it. [SPEAKER_00]: Lulu was in bringing on. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I realized it. [SPEAKER_01]: It was going to send you a real, but then it reloaded and I did it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it was like, well, [SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you about it sometime in the future. [SPEAKER_00]: And then I just happened to be watching Bring It On That Night with Brad. [SPEAKER_00]: Free hours later. [SPEAKER_00]: We're not really texting me on Netflix. [SPEAKER_00]: And I sent her a picture of Ludo.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, did you know the Rainy Bell? [SPEAKER_00]: Rainy Bell? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: Rainy Bell. [SPEAKER_00]: Rainy. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And Hilly was like, you're not going to believe this. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Actually, I'm not going to believe.
[SPEAKER_00]: Literally was going to tell you this earlier. [SPEAKER_00]: Shea because I didn't know this. [SPEAKER_00]: And I saw it earlier to that crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, the flower girl. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe she'll wear her Bring It On. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, far goes a cheerleader fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, cute. [SPEAKER_00]: Cute. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, the ring bearer. [SPEAKER_01]: Alex, lower-rise Alex. [SPEAKER_01]: Wow, okay. [SPEAKER_00]: This is chock full of people. [SPEAKER_00]: That is really interesting choices. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I can see Ed and Alex being friends. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Close enough friends to be the best men. [SPEAKER_01]: No, but enough close enough that he would be the ring bearer. [SPEAKER_01]: Close enough. [SPEAKER_01]: Close enough that we give him a job. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: This is the person who's going to object. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wins, jazz.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Just objects to jazz. [SPEAKER_01]: Miriams. [SPEAKER_01]: with you guys, Brett really wants someone to object it as wedding. [SPEAKER_00]: Brett asks specifically that we put that clot like if we put that question in there because he wants the tension in here. [SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't want someone to object just wants the possibility.
[SPEAKER_01]: I said I'm there. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, I'll create it. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, this is who's objecting. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're going to be really disappointed in us. [SPEAKER_00]: No, who's Zach? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Zach, no one invited you. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, Jess, and that's why he's objecting.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's upset. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he didn't get invited. [SPEAKER_01]: No, but Jess is going to handle that so masterfully. [SPEAKER_01]: Zach's going to be a, he's going to object. [SPEAKER_01]: And Jess is going to be like moving on. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, just, he's just going to stare at him.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's not even going to acknowledge that it happened. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: He's just going to continue looking around. [SPEAKER_01]: Great. [SPEAKER_01]: No one to grace. [SPEAKER_01]: Moving on. [SPEAKER_01]: Moving on. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Photographer. [SPEAKER_00]: Kirk.
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what we were hoping for in Ann Arbor. [SPEAKER_01]: That really, well, it just works. [SPEAKER_00]: I just hope that he takes a lens cap off. [SPEAKER_00]: That's all. [SPEAKER_01]: One can only hope. [SPEAKER_00]: So I want it only hope. [SPEAKER_00]: My expectations and my, my bar very low.
[SPEAKER_00]: Low. [SPEAKER_00]: Low. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: The DJ at the reception. [SPEAKER_00]: Louise. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's going to slide. [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like Madeleine will be there with her, but yeah, yeah, but they're gonna, they're gonna, it's gonna, yeah, and then I think about half way through the reception, the music will stop because they will have left because they found boys and they're gonna leave with the yummy bartenders, of course, and more it will take over.
[SPEAKER_01]: Take over 100%. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, it's, it's all working out. [SPEAKER_01]: It's all working out. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, this person is making your cake, Lindsey, when Lindsey picked Lindsey. [SPEAKER_01]: And then over and over, because Lindsay was actually doing your flowers. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I think she was, she was, she was my flower.
[SPEAKER_01]: And she just makes so much sense. [SPEAKER_01]: She's definitely in another small town and a romance novel and that small town. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So you're caterer. [SPEAKER_01]: This is who will be making all the food for all of these guests. [SPEAKER_01]: Liz. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, remember when she tried to do Thanksgiving?
[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_01]: Didn't work out ovens broken. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not on oven doesn't work. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So sorry guys. [SPEAKER_01]: So I guess you guys will get an ounce pan. [SPEAKER_00]: She might. [SPEAKER_00]: She might call Luke and have him make the food and then she can pass it off as hers.
[SPEAKER_01]: So fair. [SPEAKER_01]: That's fair. [SPEAKER_01]: Because I think that Ann Arbor honor was your caterer, but we know for a fact she wasn't making it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she was really high yet. [SPEAKER_00]: Literally catering it in. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so this is the person doing your flowers.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what? [SPEAKER_01]: I actually think this is going to be very good. [SPEAKER_01]: Pendulum lot. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, she's going to she's going to do great. [SPEAKER_01]: She's going to do a great job. [SPEAKER_01]: I actually is going to be gorgeous. [SPEAKER_00]: And in the program, we'll thank Pendulum lot just for being Pendulum lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and then this is who is going to be walking you down the aisle to your group. [SPEAKER_00]: Please be tired. [SPEAKER_00]: Please be tall. [SPEAKER_00]: Please be tall. [SPEAKER_00]: Who is it? [SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be Kyle post season three after he loses his hand and gets oh, oh, okay, specifically Thank you for being that specific about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're gonna have a great time. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, a Kyle's actually quite fun and very thoughtful Okay, I was great. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think he would let you hold the non-hook hand [SPEAKER_01]: Unless you prefer a hook-hand. [SPEAKER_00]: You see, I feel like I got there. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a game to enjoy these.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just right in the moment. [SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be a game time decision. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, when thousand percent. [SPEAKER_00]: No, I would game day. [SPEAKER_00]: It can't be game. [SPEAKER_00]: time. [SPEAKER_00]: Game time for a game day. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But here's your wedding.
[SPEAKER_01]: You are having a wedding planned by Mori. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Handlin Charleston, Ms. Patty, Andrew and Caesar making a lovely attempt to make your wedding dressed. [SPEAKER_01]: Is that a attempt? [SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's being officiated by Jess, as you marry Ed, who cries?
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm also going to cry, because the guy that I want to marry is officiating my wedding. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, that's a move. [SPEAKER_00]: Ramma! [SPEAKER_00]: That's a move. [SPEAKER_01]: Wait, okay, there's actually so much fan fiction to be had here that, like, we won't be gonna have time, because, like, Logan's your maid of honor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Somehow you ended up with Ed, and, like, we know you should end up with Jess here as Logan's here, but I'm marrying Ed. [SPEAKER_00]: But you're married. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, what happened? [SPEAKER_01]: What happened? [SPEAKER_01]: Truly, we need to know the backstory there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just poofing out there, you know, just all the way. [SPEAKER_00]: Different outfit like in 27 dresses with Captain House, oh my gosh, 100% like all their really good costumes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, my date is on our Huntsburger, which we can only assume is because I have to imagine this something bad happened [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think maybe Ed has a lot of money?
[SPEAKER_01]: Or is he just really kind? [SPEAKER_01]: I think Ed's a really kind guy. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'm glad. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry to speak a little bit. [SPEAKER_01]: I've been... [SPEAKER_01]: Your flower girl is Lulu and the ring bear is Alex. [SPEAKER_01]: Cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Charlie Swan.
[SPEAKER_01]: Zach's gonna object and Jess is not gonna accept it. [SPEAKER_01]: And we'll all ignore him. [SPEAKER_00]: We're all gonna pretend like he's not there. [SPEAKER_01]: Kirk is going to take photos. [SPEAKER_01]: Great. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll see. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you don't want any photos of you and Ed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he's crying. [SPEAKER_01]: Louise is a DJ Maddo and I'll be nearby of course. [SPEAKER_01]: For sure. [SPEAKER_01]: Lindsay's going to make your cake. [SPEAKER_01]: We know it's going to be her mom. [SPEAKER_00]: Her mom's going to make the cake. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Because she shouldn't be making the cake.
[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen her try to cook before and that's it. [SPEAKER_01]: Or maybe she had a revenge arc and she became really good at baking. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_00]: Good job. [SPEAKER_00]: Penal and not. [SPEAKER_00]: Just for being flowers. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what it is.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what her florist is. [SPEAKER_00]: Just for being penal and not. [SPEAKER_01]: And wait, who's walking down the aisle? [SPEAKER_01]: I've lost it. [SPEAKER_00]: Kyle. [SPEAKER_00]: Kyle. [SPEAKER_01]: That's good, I've heard. [SPEAKER_01]: How could you forget? [SPEAKER_01]: I'm now realizing there was a missing category on here.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it was who the only bartenders were. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna pick out three. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and these are your three yummy bartenders. [SPEAKER_01]: We've got no longer a bride, but we'll have a wife. [SPEAKER_00]: It's true. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but just remember, I was already legally bound to you when you were long before it's true.
[SPEAKER_00]: When I met Brett, when you got engaged to Brett, we went, yeah, we were already late. [SPEAKER_00]: When Brett and I started dating shortly after you and I became legally bound. [SPEAKER_01]: Before we even met, you and I were legally bound, legally bound, just kind of like a government, so you might have gotten a wedding license last week, but we've been doing this.
[SPEAKER_01]: But remember your first, remember your first government relationship. [SPEAKER_00]: Fair and so fair. [SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, I'm very excited. [SPEAKER_00]: We are coming up under annual stars Halloween episode. [SPEAKER_00]: I can't believe it's the end of October already.
[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like September just said I'm like a little I'm kind of all over the place But I know what I'm gonna be yet. [SPEAKER_01]: I know I wanted to be an alien and half cow being astronaut But he's not gonna be an astronaut so it'd be so weird if I was just an alien on my own. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that would be really weird [SPEAKER_00]: Right now we're trying to figure it out because Halloween is on a Saturday this year, but it's the night before he runs the New York City marathon.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you guys are going to be asleep forever. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be at home. [SPEAKER_00]: But we found out today that our building does like tricking things. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Really excited. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to tell you what heroes are going to be.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, don't get me started. [SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait. [SPEAKER_00]: I saw her out for the wedding last night. [SPEAKER_00]: It's so cute. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's so cute. [SPEAKER_01]: I cannot wait for my chance to grow. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, cute. [SPEAKER_01]: I can't wait. [SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, it is our annual Stars Halloween which you know we love to celebrate, you know, which, you know, we love to celebrate here on the podcast.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna have more to say on that in the next episode.
