Hello everybody, welcome to a brand new episode of It's About Bravo. I'm Zach, and today I am missing Maddie and Annie, but we have a special treat on the mic today. So returning to It's About Bravo, we have Reed Chandler. Hi, Reed. Hypocrisy and bullshit. Bullshit.
Hypocrisy and bullshit.
Betrayal. It's like the glam kittens when she like is like introducing Meredith and Meredith comes in and she's like, huh.
How am I gonna intro myself this time? And that felt right. So I'm so happy to be back. Um, thank you for having me. I really enjoy popping in and out of the It's About Bravo um round table. So here I am.
It's so much fun when you're here, and it's just gonna be a kiki, like, uh, and thank and you know, we're we're going back to the ancient text with the gays. Oh, yeah, you know, get the gays on the mic.
This is the olden days. Zach Reed were only missing Mo, and then we'd have the Tracy Vegas on the mic, and we're coming out of um the blue wave, so I'm feeling pretty good.
Feeling positive, the blue wave. Well, I mean, that was just a great thing to wake up to.
Yeah, we're recording this on Thursday, so and just a couple days since everything went down here in the US of A. I'm proud to be an American again. I know it's like proud to be an American.
We're we're we're we're looking a little bit more like you know, not Orange County.
No, I was looking at I was looking at Texas on Tuesday night and I was like, you know what? Bring back real housewives of Dallas. Bring back Dallas, bring back Dallas. Somebody uh call Leanne Lock in. Because I'm feeling a I'm feeling a blue wave coming on. You know what? You know what, Ella Langley, I am choosing Texas.
I'm choosing Texas.
Oh man. Well, this is gonna be such a fun episode. Um, before we get into our little recaps, I'd love to hear some um of Reed's thoughts on the Bravo world. So without further ado, let's get into That's my opinion! All right, Reed, give us your Bravo 411. I always love to hear your takes. Obviously, I hear them like pretty much every day.
But the for the listeners, I'm not a quiet one. So, and is this mistake? No, you're not a quiet woman.
But yes, uh, it's been a minute since I've had the pleasure of gracing the It's About Bravo microphone. So I just wanted to like do a little round robin of some of my Bravo takes. I know that this podcast has decided to stop covering Orange County, and I am fully supportive of that. I was one of the many Spotify commentors who said, do it, do it, do it, as um Yeah, do it, do it, as Daniel Staub would say.
Um, but I have continued watching, uh, and I'm just really disappointed in this season of Housewives. The finale was last week. I know you're a few episodes behind, Zach, so you don't really know what I'm talking about, but you don't really need to know what I'm talking about because nothing is happening.
Nothing has happened this entire season. And the cherry on top was the finale where they once again celebrate 20 years of housewives with a party hosted by Vicky, where we get a million bajillion former Orange County Housewives. And as as much as I love seeing like old faces, and I'm a sucker for nostalgia, but this is now the third time that Bravo has served this to us in the last few months.
If you think about it, uh we just finished Ultimate Girls Trip, which I fucking loved, and I know you guys did too. Um, and we already got this in that, right? They went to the Quiet Woman and we got Gina Keo, we got Joe De La Rosa, we got all these people. They spent way too much time talking about Gretchen and Slade who weren't even there.
Um, we got that already, and then they did it again in the middle of this season of Orange County when Tamara had her like weed business party or whatever. Right, right. She invited a million bajillion former Orange County housewives, and we got Alexis Bellino, and also that episode pissed me off because Alexis Bellino was the most dramatic part of this whole season, and I'm that's just not enough for me.
And like Shannon barely getting involved, like just saying one thing to her off to the side, and then it being over. Like, I think it just goes to show like how much this cast of women has lost it. Like, they don't have it anymore, and we gotta stop forcing it. Like, I you know, you know, I love Shannon Bador, you know I love Vicky Gumbleson, I love Heather Dubrot, but I think that like this group of women have like hit their expiration date.
I'm so fucking sick of Gina and Emily, as I know you all are. I really liked Carmela, and I would be open to her returning if they did like a soft reboot where they brought some. I think Carmela needs other young girls like herself to like make it better. I really don't think they should go past season 20 of Orange County, is is my thesis here.
I I I just don't think there's any juice left in this orange to squeeze, you know? Like it's just it's just done. And so that finale just really irritated me. And I think uh tonight is the start of the reunion, and I'm gonna be so I'm gonna lose my mind. Um to quote Vicky Gundelson, I'm gonna go ballistic if I hear Andy say in part one of our three-part reunion.
It's two, it has been confirmed that it's two parts, which I think like thank god. Um, it's two parts because there's just no need for it to be.
There's no need.
I mean, honestly, it could it could be an email.
It there's no need. Okay, this is how bad Orange County is this season. One of the peacock on Peacock a few episodes ago, the like description of the episode was Shannon gets some bad news about Archie's health. Like, that is the extent of what is happening. Okay, I will say, I mean, rest in peace.
I will say, I will say, I did see the like clip because I've obviously I am very behind. Like, there's just so much TV on right now, you know, and it's like especially, I don't know, it's gotta really be capturing my attention. And um, I did see, I've kept up with clips and everything like that, but uh the clip of her talking with her daughters with like the like I think it was like a medium or a psychic or something like that about Archie's how like I was like, okay, that is one of the saddest things I've ever seen in Bravo.
It's like I I was like, I'm gonna cry right now. That was really like that was horrible. So like things like that, but I do I do share your sentiment. Obviously, I am very much a not a uh I've never been a cancel it, throw it at throw the baby out with the bathwater type of person. When it comes to Bravo, especially, I do see your point, and I will be this is the first time that I will be at peace if that was the route that they chose to go down.
Like if they said Orange County's a rap, we're not doing it anymore, because they have a ton of other franchises that I think that should they should bring back Miami.
It's like you know when is when is enough enough? Because like 20 seasons is a lot of seasons for a show. Are shows supposed to just go on for infinity? Like, are we supposed to have a season 50 of Orange County? No, like I think at some point you close the book and you direct that money toward like Real Housewives of Nashville or Real Housewives of like Winnetka here in Chicago land.
I think like we've got new franchises popping up that are full of life. You've got Salt Lake, you've got Rhode Island, and then I think some of these legacy franchises are really just like struggling. Like, I didn't enjoy Atlanta very much either. I'm not saying cancel Atlanta, but I'm just like Atlanta, Beverly Hills, Jersey, Orange County, and up until recently, Roni were all kind of like dinosaurs to me that like they they still have their moments, but they're not that good.
And I just feel like we're we're kind of like tarnishing the legacy of these shows by like keeping them on the air just for the sake of keeping them on the air. And I know Andy loves New York and he loves Orange County. And I feel like I've heard people say, well, Bravo will never stop doing Roni, they'll never stop doing Real Hostages of Orange County because like those are like Orange County was where it all started.
Like, Andy's never gonna abandon that franchise. And that's fair, but if you're gonna like keep it going, I would like to see like a two-year break, kind of like what's happening with Jersey right now. Go, go like radio silent for a little while. Leave the fans guessing when is season 21 coming, and then at like a Bravo Con, announce like a new cast.
And maybe, like, maybe Carmel is there, maybe she's not. I don't really care either way. I do like her. I think she could be good if we had some more young girls. Like, get a girl, get one of her co-workers at the Oppenheim group. Like, let's just bring some of those selling the OC girls from Netflix over.
I don't know. Like, we need fresh blood. I really think like Shannon, Vicky, Tamara, and even Heather, God bless her. We they got we gotta move on. We gotta move on. Emily and Gina, dud, and I'm gonna say I disagree with okay. If we are because what are they offering, Zach? I mean, even Heather Du Bro, she has not done a single thing this whole season.
I I know you like her, I like her too. Boring. There's nothing going on, they don't have storylines.
They're all it's like, but think think about it like what the like obviously the cast is stale, right? Obviously, the cast is stale. Gotta move on. But I think we really, I just uh I wanna see I don't want the last season of Orange Comedy to be with Emily and Gina. I need I need to see like something else.
Like I need so like in my perfect world, in my perfect world, we would keep Tamra, keep Heather, keep Carmella, maybe keep Jen, and then get three to four new girls. And just but I think Tamra and Heather you have to I don't think it's I think that's a you you cut that's cutting half the cast.
I know, but you're keeping you're keeping some of these people who for seasons now have brought nothing to the table. All Tamra does is just tattletale on people and just share and just spread rumors. We can have any new girl do that. Any new girl could do that.
No, I need Tamara there. I need Tamara there. We've learned our lesson. We've learned, yeah, because like this cast has been like a terror to her. She needs a new cast. Like, I want to see her with new women. Like, I you have to understand that, like, yes, it's like, yeah, they're not doing anything right now in their respective, like in the state of this cast, but like bring in some new women and see how they move with the I think that's actually a fair point because when we get to the Rony recap, I'll discuss this more.
But I think Carol being like legacy, and then she's it's like she's dealing with fresh blood is interesting and it's making her interesting. So um maybe like Tamra, Tamara probably would still be useful on this cast if there was someone um new to that really rattled her cage and got her.
Yeah, I that's what I want. I want someone like who's the new hottest uh housewife of Orange County.
But I do think like I guess like I'm a little bit conflicted on Vicky because ultimately I was getting really annoyed with all the discourse during Ultimate Girls Trip where people were like, Vicki's a terrible person. Why did we bring her back? Blah blah blah blah blah. Vicki was like one of the only like driving forces of drama on Ultimate Girls Trip.
We needed someone that all the other ladies could react to. And then on Orange County, again, this season has been dry as fuck. The few moments of interest to me have been when Vicky and Carmel. Carmela are beefing, and Carmela are beefing. So I just don't I don't know. I just but I don't at the same time I say all that, and I still believe I don't think that Vicky should come back.
I think it was nice to have her back for season 20, but I think she and Shannon are kind of in the same boat to me, where it's like, you know, like I don't know. So I don't know.
I totally hear I hear you. I hear you. Orange uh the end of the story is Orange County needs life support.
I know. I remember I'll never forget when I used to be a regular on It's About Bravo, and the joke was always like, you always joked, because we'd be in the middle, we'd be like on any franchise recap, Reed would always be like, so guys, how do we save Rony?
Like, how do we how do we save Orange County? And honestly, here's my thing is like while I do like love, I love all the franchises, okay? I love all my babies, right? I love all my children, but I do think that some of them are um you know not my favorite. Like Orange County does not crack my top three at all.
No, it's just not and it's never have it never like, but some people will like try to have like revisionist history that like Orange County's always been the best. I'm like Orange County, which I guess you get that when you have so many seasons, but Orange County has more bad seasons than other franchises, yeah.
Way more bad than good, in my opinion. So but then they have but that but their good seasons are fucking good, yeah, you know, so it just it's it's a mixed bag. Speaking of people who you know, some have thought have hit an expiration date, I don't believe so, is the golden life. We are Rony girls, our apples, they're down in Palm Beach.
You've been watching that, correct? Are you all caught up on that?
I I actually just this morning while I was doing a little Peloton ride, I watched this week's episode. It's really hard to watch the show because I I record it on YouTube TV, so I can watch it there, but then I have to like manually fast forward through commercials, which is like I just don't like doing that.
We are so lazy as a world. I know it's on well it's on it's on Hulu, but I went to my Hulu app and the third episode from Tuesday night is still not loaded, like on a week delay.
So they're a week delay, which I think is absolutely crazy.
And I don't want to, I don't want to wait. Oh I mean, I guess I could just wait a week and then just start watching.
My friend was like, my friend was like, Where is this feels like sabotage?
Well, okay.
They're like, they're like, why don't they have good viewership? I was like, well, what do you think? Like they're not on Bravo.
I was like, you have it's also a little cheap looking. Like their confessionals look like they're sitting in front of a green screen.
I feel like I feel like it's like uh it might as well be on Hey You in another country to try to watch this goddamn program.
You know, it's just like it is so weird. We talked about this in our group chat, and I think you and I slightly disagreed, but the first episode really, first of all, it was like a 90-minute episode, and it really like dragged for me. And I felt by the end of the episode, I felt like, you know what, maybe I don't need to keep watching these women on TV because like they are older, they're kind of aging out, they're not really like bringing it the way they used to.
Um, I think exam, I think like um Ultimate Girls Trip and things like Crappy Lake are good examples of where these women shine. When you give them like a limited time frame, like an eight episode special, like they work really well together. You send them on a trip or you send them on a road trip like Crappy Lake or something.
But I feel like, like broadly speaking, do we really need to follow these women for like a multitude of seasons and in 2026? However, by the end of episode two, where they're all beefing with Sonia, and that picks back up into episode three, which is this week's episode. I was honestly having a really fun time.
I think what I love about these women is when they fight, they are so funny. And it was old Rony again, the way they were fighting. Um and so yes, I'm sat for golden life. Um, the jury's out. I'm not gonna say like it's bad. I no, I'm locked in.
Like these women, yeah. These women are just they at the end of the day, they make me laugh. At the end of the day, these are the type of women that like I just want as like a sitcom forever and ever. Like it can just be seasons, like I don't need like anything big drama because just their side commentary is hilarious.
I mean, even I was dying laughing in episode two when they're confronting Sonia about dancing on Michael, Luann's boyfriend. And and she's like, and and Sonia, while they're confronting her, Sonia's like not realizing the gravity of the situation, right? There she's not realizing that like Luann is like is actually upset.
And she's just making these little side comments, and then once she starts to realize it, she makes this comment and she goes, she goes, What? He knows you cheat. And it's insane, you know, and like a normal per a normal person would be like, I don't cheat on my boyfriend. You know, you're on camera, you got all these cameras around, and you're like, I don't cheat on my boyfriend.
Lou Ann goes, now how would he know that? I lost my mind.
Um I was like, how would he know that? I was like, this is crazy. I think Sonia is the ultimate terror. Like, she just I I can the women all like she's she's gonna be the drama of the season. She's fighting with everybody. I think that part they're all selfish and they're all narcissistic to a degree, but I think that Sonia's narcissism and her selfishness are the at the extreme level.
Uh, like the fact that she hasn't talked to Luanne in like two years and then shows up and just shrugs it off. Like, we've just we're busy, we've just been working. It's like, no, you just don't have a reason to talk to her because she doesn't, she's not doing anything for you. And I think that's why I think that's why's pissed.
It's like you're not real friends because if you were, you would talk more often. And then, like, I know we're not really covering Golden Life, but I'll just say in this latest episode, Sonia like comes for Durinda for not inviting her to the Berkshires like 10 years ago during Rony. And I like how they always have to go, like when we were on that show in New York, when we were filming, you can tell that like there was a soundbite from Luann where she says, Since we stopped filming, and I can tell that they had to that they edited it out.
She said Rony, they just cut that because the way her tone, the tonal inflection of her voice, she wasn't ending her sentence with the word filming, anyways. Um Sonia bringing this up and then being this is a classic thing all housewives do, but uh it drives me nuts, but it's also hilarious, is when they try to when they use their kids as like collateral, they're like, You took money out, you took food off my daughter's plate.
Yeah by not letting me film. Okay, first of all, Sonia, you're a Morgan. Your daughter's plate has never been remotely empty. And second of all, I'm sure your daughter never went hungry like before, like, but you probably didn't go shopping at you know Michael Coors that that year because you you know what I mean.
It's like you're you're acting like it is it is you're acting like your kids are starving, but you're driving a Range Rover or a G-Wagon and you're wearing designer clothes. Don't don't use your kids as a weapon, and that's what every housewife does. You you damaged my kids.
You took you took the spoon out of my kid's mouth, you know. It's like you're like, well, okay, all right, all right, all right. No, but it was it was really funny. Like, and then also like people are talking about Ramona being like an absolute terror, and I'm like, Yeah, she is like her like yelling at the stylist and then the interns, and then who else did she yell at?
She yelled at somebody else, too. But honestly, I thought she was pretty tame. I actually think that she's right about because what do you mean you're the stylist and you're getting your hair done when the talent gets there? Do you know what I mean? Like or like or like the other thing, it's like, yeah, this is a private event.
Like, what are you walking in here for? And then with the the gays, get that gay off the screen. Yeah, like he's annoying me. I'm just as annoyed as Ramona. No, so like I agree.
No, there's a tweet, there's a tweet that we sent the other day, and we said it was Maddie coded. And the tweet says, Sometimes I see a gay person and I'm just like, not right now. And I feel like that, I feel like that's like these these gays are getting way too comfortable with their camera time. They are.
They're like when they came over to the table and they're like, they were going, Oh, are we not important? I'm like, you're not. You're right, you're not. You're replaceable.
There's a I can there's a there's a dime a dozen of y'all. And like this, I say this with all love to our friend Mo, who has gotten some camera time recently with his work with Vicky. But like, I need the help, the gays that are helping these women. I need y'all to like take a step back. The show is not about you, and I don't need to see you or hear you.
I'm like off the screen. Off the screen. And then in the recent episode, he has a confessional. I was like, what are we doing here? I saw that. I was like, actually, I was like, actually, Ramona, I need you to lock in. get more homophobic because this is we have we we're we're off the fucking path right now so it was too much but anyways we are off the path as well because we need to get back on the we could we could we could just yap forever we are off the the road more than Karen Huger was the night of her drunk driving after the night of her D UI right exactly so without further ado let's get into our next segment let's talk about the real housewives of Potomac just be me well but who are you
probably a different Karen than you were say a year and a half ago you've said that before you said I expected that you would be so don't you like sober Karen?
You have to admit that non-sober Karen might have been more fun I don't I don't see that I don't see that you didn't see you being more fun maybe more uh sexy if you will I think I'm the most powerfully sexy woman I've ever been more aggressive and things me going to jail didn't stop our intimacy.
Well no but that certainly hasn't helped it because I thought that uh after being there you come back and and tear me up no no I was surprised that uh after being away thinking about fing after being locked up for six months that's on on television they do that's not the reality baby it's an immature statement there's so much more to deal with than tearing him up but he's also very hurt and I know that clearly you know Ray has some adjusting to do because I I like sober care all right let's talk about the Potomac ladies read how are you feeling about the season thus far my goodness okay I know Potomic's like one of your faves Potomac is one of my faves it was one of my very first franchises that
I binged um at my friend's behest they were like you have to start with Potomac it's just so good. Um these women make me laugh even when they're not trying to even a few seasons ago when they were having a bad season I was still like giggling and having fun with little things here and there. I mean they just it's impossible for me to not love these ladies.
Um talk about all of these banger taglines for this season I mean you never you never get a full cast of incredible taglines. Like every tagline is good some are better than others but like they're all good.
I'm not I'm not crazy about Ashley's but I can't tell if it's just because I like can't stand Ashley at the moment.
I'm looking at them on the on my screen right now and you're right Ashley's is nothing I mean girl she's also an been a nothing burger for quite a while now um as someone who was just like so so on Tia last season I love Tia and I think she is the future of Potomac like her and oh my gosh. All right let's not get crazy here.
Well okay obviously Stacy's the future of Potomac but Tia is really impressing me this season. I love how first of all she's not afraid to get into the mess. She gets into the mess when she gets angry I love it. I love her British accent um having your husband like catching him on dating apps and that being kind of like the beginning like I mean we just she's doing everything that a housewife should be doing.
I'm proud of her I'm glad that I didn't write her off in her first season I think that she brings a lot to the table. So I do like I like her a lot. Courtney seems cuckoo for fucking Coco Puffs but I'm here for that um I don't know they don't see me in my pit. They didn't see me in my pit um her like wait what what talk about crazy timing that on Sunday's episode they referenced like her like prophetic dream that she went on Instagram live about like the power outages and then this week ahead of the election we are our timelines are just flooded with conspiracy theories of power outages and I've just been seeing all these like housewife Twitter gays what day was that um it was right before the
it was right it was like Monday because Tuesday was the 11th okay because we were um so I was in New York for Halloween visiting Mo and Annie I got to see Annie too um so like it was a little it's about Bravo Kiki it was a lot of fun um but we went to dinner on Monday night and on the way back bitch I was like so ready to get like back to their apartment and we were on the subway and the subway lost power and we were like sitting there for like we were sitting there for like 20 almost 30 minutes and I was like guys can we go get a car?
I was like I can't be in this but then as soon as we got up the subway turned back on and we were able to like go so Courtney like people doubted Jesus Christ too okay and I'm just saying like Courtney baby you weren't wrong you were just early okay like you just she came to spread the word and maybe a little bit God gave you that vision um no I am enjoying her I'm not enjoying her like a lot but I she's she's I'm I'm sad we're gonna see what happens with Courtney um some of my favorite taglines are Giselle I can honor my past and still read you in the present that is my favorite one and then Karen Huger I found my higher self but humbling you no problem that one's a really good one too and I
love Stacy's I love Stacy's because yes how did I forget that one to talk about depth talk about truth talk about Stacy. Okay the women hate Stacy so much because they know how much we love her and it's driving them insane specifically like Ashley and Giselle you can just tell they hate the like attention Stacy's getting from the fandom and I want you to just to continue to squirm because Stacy is here to stay a baby like love her.
I don't care that she's apparently super fake and doesn't act this way when they're not recording like apparently she's a completely different person on camera than she is off camera.
But Zach for me that makes me love her even more because part of what I love about Stacy is like you can tell this bitch is lying like just always lying no it's funny and like part of it is also like you can tell when she's you know she's so poised she's so like used to the QVC kind of model where she's like all right showtime this is how we're gonna do it and like when someone there's like a little wrench in it it's actually funny to watch which makes me think of like this scene with like her and Arabella and chemo and she's like Arabella well me and your dad and Arabella is just like does not give two fucks like at all.
And she's like and you can tell like in Stacy's eyes like that she's like squirming when like Arabella's going off script you know she's like Arabella she's like Stacy and she's like mama you know it's like like you can just tell it's like riling Stacy up because she like needs to be it needs to uh have point A point B point C yeah like go in order you know I I really I'm really thankful that we have Stacy on this franchise I think she kind of gave it a a breath of life of fresh air a burst of life what is what does Theresa say a fresh of breath a fresh of breath air yeah a fresh of breath air um you know I've always had a love-hate relationship with Giselle but after Ultimate Girls trip I'm really
reminded of how good Giselle is at what she does and she's so necessary to this cast um because she just she's reasonably shady you know and we need we need that I mean to an extent we need Ashley Darby being the bone collector but I'm just in general Ashley I'm just kind of bored with like what she brings to the table because she doesn't bring much at all and like I think at some point we could let her go I just I think she's she's done I think her time I think her time is up and I think she could benefit from like what we're seeing with Robin where it's like she can come back one day.
But like I just like don't think that like right now it's so crazy I was like watching the episode I was like this episode's missing some Robin I literally like never thought I would say that but I was like this episode yeah I know it's kind of missing some Robin you know like it was yeah I I think that as someone who has never loved Robin I'm very pleased with what I've seen so far this season it's kind of nice having her back in the friend of role I think she fits well there I like that she's not really like fully on Giselle's side either and she loves to rattle Karen's cage.
So yeah a lot of fun too speaking of Karen what did you think of that conversation between her and Ray like what do you think is like going on there like do you think like because they were talking about like one their sex life and he's like he's making it sound like their sex life took a hold because well she was in jail she wasn't present but then she's making it sound like well girl we weren't we weren't touching each other when I was not in jail well also like when do you stop having sex as a because I feel like Ray is getting to the age where it's like is it even safe for you to get your heart rate up that much like I I know might not make it out alive.
I just I always wonder like are old couples still like fucking like you know I mean I think they are because like I mean I mean you've been on but you've been on the sites like there's still some like I mean you know I know I think like there's still some there's still some older jets yes there's still like I think men remain horny into old age sometimes more than like I don't know like I don't I don't want to like misspeak like I'm not a woman but like is a is a 70 year old woman still is she still wanting some I don't know I think that they still want to get their rocks off.
I think it depends on the person it depends on the couple it's not just like a blanket statement but I do feel like generally speaking older relationships like the love is probably still there the companionship is there but like maybe at some point the sex starts to slow down I don't know I just I think at some point I would be kind of like I just want like Ray does not need like to be fucking okay like he does not need to fucking I don't want to talk about Ray fucking anymore that's I can't and okay Karen can I just say something about Karen Huger okay you know that she's in my like top four top five housewives of all time I'm a huge stan of Karen Huger um but post DUI I have very clear eyes
about the situation. I mean Karen is a liar she's always been a little bit of a liar you she speaks in half truth everything is very much like a press conference to her like she even held a press conference that one season everything just feels like it's filtered. Like we're not getting the real story we're getting what Karen Huger wants us to to hear and believe and her sit down with Andy last season just felt so I was really disappointed.
I thought she was gonna come out of jail way more humble. Like she's she's acting humble like that's her whole shtick this season right is like I'm on this eat pray love like journey post prison. But it's like I haven't heard you admit that you're an alcoholic still you just keep saying you're she won't she wants to keep blaming the prescription drugs but baby we've watched you for like eight nine seasons I've seen that I've seen you banging fireball shots and being drunk and like you did have an alcohol problem.
You did and the fact that you're not able to admit it to me says that you aren't actually like fully healed like you haven't you haven't fully healed. And so coming out of this prison sentence and hosting a color purple themed party where you compare yourself to Sophia home who's Sophia home that was really cracking me up but didn't that character go to prison for like it was like racism.
Like it was not because she drunk drove a vehicle off the road into a tree. Like Oprah Oprah was not behind bars because she drunk drove a car into a tree and so like you comparing your like return home from prison to this character in the color purple to me just just like it's the cherry on top of like Karen Huger does not get it.
No and she's and she's always gonna be like that.
And that's partially what we love I mean that is what I love about her. I love her delusion but I think that I'm just also kind of sitting here like wow you really like and then like even in her sit down with Andy last season kind of being like I helped these young these younger God sent me to prison because these younger women needed me they needed my help like girl they do not need to be taking any pages out of your book like don't drunk drive don't do that like literally I don't know she's really in this like she thinks that she's like this like self like this martyr and I'm I don't know I don't know so I totally agree I'm interested to see kind of where her storyline goes this season but I
fear we could be looking at a similar thing as like a Vicky Gumbleson where it's like when is enough enough you know like I don't know I don't know I still think like Karen's got some gas in the tank no pun intended yeah she got some she shouldn't be behind the wheel but she's got the gas in the tank she just needs to sit in the passenger side you know you you know who doesn't have much gas left in the tank and it's like their car is sputtering but they're still driving it Dr.
Wendy Osefo because what are you doing?
What are you doing on this show right now incriminating yourself incriminating yourself and also like when okay so when it was the double date between her and Tia and her husband and you know uh Eddie I was like Wendy you're yapping a lot right now for yeah one who's going through yeah I just don't get it and I also don't get um well I guess I do get it it feels like you guys have been saying this week after week on the pod she is setting up Eddie to take the fall right oh she absolutely is I mean even in this latest episode he's like do you still love me and she's like oh asking the hard questions and it's like and at the dinner and at the dinner she's going like you need to know everything that's
happening in the house yes like you know like you can't be like ignorant to like what's going on um side note since we're at that dinner Rob roll Tia's husband baby I don't care what site you're on I don't care what you do what you're gonna do what I need you to do is to just shave the head sometimes sometimes sometimes you have to understand that the hair is not working for you unless you're gonna get like a transplant or do something else just you will you could be maybe like a a little bit more I'm not gonna say handsome but you you be a little bit better I mean he don't love himself because like you are not taking care and also Tia is so pretty so I'm just gorgeous Tia's gorgeous and I'm like
I hate not me getting clowned by this man I hate when I see beautiful women getting clowned by ugly men it bothers me so bad.
He's ugly he's ugly it bothers me so bad like who is he who is he talking to on dating apps and also it's also very clear that he's also lying because when they're asking him like I think Wendy was like well did it like is that all it was like you just talked like did anything happen and he kind of like does his little he like squints his eyes like he's thinking about it really hard he's like hmm you know no nothing happened I also think I also think that's not a very decisive answer.
I also think Tia knows more than like what she is telling people yes I mean first and I think she's like trying to like keep it uh keep in front of like the narrative of the situation yes because I even question did she really not know about this when Stacy brought it up on camera I mean I hate to get like overly analytical about the behind the scenes because I just want to enjoy my show but you have to wonder with things like this like like you know back I hate it all come road all roads lead back to Vicki Gumbleston.
I think about when she got the call that her mom had died. And we know the backstory now of that and it was like a complete surprise to her on camera and that brings up the ethics question of is that like right to do but we've also I mean I think her daughter Brianna has since come out and said no they like called me to call her to pick up the call from them.
Like the production had to like arrange it so that Vicky would get the call while she was at the Bunko party so I guess what I'm I bring that up to bring up you know the opening of this season with Wendy Stacy and Tia and Stacy saying you know I'm sorry for what I'm about to tell you it just it begs the question did production say ahead of time hey you guys are gonna sit down and Stacy's gonna um bring up that your husband's on dating apps like did did I guess what I'm trying to say is did Tia know what did Tia know before I don't think Tia knew knew but I think Tia probably had an idea especially because of like if Ashley was going around saying stuff I feel like Tia had to know like it was coming
but like maybe not like certain things. But now that Tia knows that it's here I think Tia's like we're gonna get ahead of this you're gonna like let me do all the talking do not talk about this and um yeah I just find it very interesting what's gonna how it's gonna unfold I mean in in terms of like her spot on this show it's a great thing to happen because now you have a storyline but obviously that's not probably how the people that are experiencing it feel but I do I can't really do is crazy yeah yeah like sometimes it's like wow this is great this fell into my lap like my job is secured here like Ashley Darby would would die for this opportunity.
Oh she she misses Michael Darby at this point girl you know like that's why we're seeing her that's why we're seeing her act out she like misses he doesn't have all she misses Carlo I will say like her her son is growing up and and thank god he's starting to favor Ashley more than he he used to look a lot more like Michael um he he as he gets older he was that one what was that one scene from the reunion where she's like you said you said Dylan looks like Michael and she's like that he looks like their father and she's like yeah was that like offensive or something you don't think that was offensive and I'm like like it's like wow okay well girl yeah it is well girl yeah well anyways that is our
Potomac segment let's get into the real housewives of New York City and energy and anyway first you care about energy I'm aware after last night who is that that was rude that was not nice hey are you kidding that's not nice what a dick who is that that was so fing rude prick just forget it ignore I never knew Jeffrey Epstein I never met him let's go here okay you know we live in a very complicated time right now people repeat lies and slander and rumors on Reddit and TikTok and it's scary.
That never happened that's weird what happened I don't know that never I've never encountered that scared I think about what Haley said on the island that this will always be a footnote to my story. And I think I think she's right.
All right, guys. Let's talk about the Real Housewives of New York City. Read. We have not talked Roni with you. I mean, I have like talked in the group chats and stuff. Um, are you liking it as much as I'm liking it? Maddie's liking it. Annie's liking it.
God, listen, I will always own when I'm wrong. That is something I pride myself on, is that I have lots of hot takes. I'm very opinionated. And that means that I am going to at times be wrong. Your opinionated? So and I have been the number one phony hater for years now. If there are no phony haters left on this earth, that means that I am dead.
If there is one phony hater, that means it is me. You know what I mean? Like I am, I'm leading the charge. I hate this fucking reboot. I think it is a uh a taint on housewives. And you know, I'm kind of listening they're kind of cooking a little bit because I'm I'm I'm enjoying it.
What's that clip of what's that clip of Kamala where she's eating and she turns around, she's like, it's good, it's good, it's good, it's good, it's good. Like, that's definitely how I feel. I'm always gonna love my OGs, I'm always going to feel super close. And Rony is, I've said it on the mic time and time again.
Rony is my favorite show ever. Like, it's my like across the board. Like, I'm not just talking reality television, I'm not talking about like it's my favorite. It's what I put on to if I'm having an anxious day. It's what I used to call myself. It's like it's uh white noise in my house. They're getting closer.
I think you said this last week, or someone said this last week, but they're getting closer to God's light.
We're getting closer to the ancient texts, like we're we're getting back to a little bit of what I remember feeling, and I really do believe that a lot of it has to do with like a mixture of things, right?
And I think the two main ingredients, ingredients here is having a familiar face in in Carol. Carol, okay, and having kookiness on the show.
Yep.
Like I think having a little like kookiness and also just having like they cast I'll add a third one, like really rude, like just being like out of touch.
No, yeah. You need I think the issue they had the last two seasons before this was too many normal women. Like you cast, like Jenna Lyons did not want to do anything, and that was boring. And then, like, was it Raquel last season? Like, I know some people liked her, but I just it felt more of the same.
Very what's the term the term milk toast? Like, very like bleh, like just like boring.
Is that something they say down in Alabama or something?
No, I think milk toast is like a term for like bland.
I've never heard of milk toast.
No, and it's like M-I-L-Q-U-E-M, jam on the table. I'll I'll double check myself to make sure that's a real term, but I'm pretty sure that term just means like bland, boring, nothing burger. And that is how this cast has felt to me. Like they're just boring, they're just boring. And when they try to like up the drama, like when Bren tried because she could tell things were boring, that wasn't working either because it felt so forced and fake, and like the drama was just not there.
So I think I think we've learned, like, going back to the golden life and Rony Legacy, the drama doesn't really have to be like about anything to be fun. Like you can you can be fighting about the dumbest thing, but it it's all it's all in the execution. And I think that with this fish market shit going on right now, it's an example of it's an example of that.
It's an example of it, doesn't have to be about much. It doesn't, you don't have to go Beverly Hills with it, you know.
It doesn't have to be dark, you don't, you don't, you don't gotta go salt like you don't have to, and that was the thing that was like about Rony. It was like, yeah, Rony did have like its big moments, which was like the Tom of it all, or like, you know, things like that. But Rony never really ever was this huge drama storyline that carried out through the entire season, like where in other franchises you have like Beverly Hills, which that you know, the Erica drama carried us through, or the Taylor drama carried us through, or Lucy Lucy Apple Juicy, whatever.
Um, or like you New Jersey, where they'll have the Gorga feud that carries us through, or you know, whatever. Toma the Darby of it all, right?
Every everyone has those, everyone has those things.
Um, but Rony, what was so good about Rony was that it was quick. It was kind of like Salt Lake, you know, where like, and that's why we say that Salt Lake is like the true, you know, the Jesus Christ.
God bless your soul. Um, you know, Miami was giving me that too. Like they're their fighting was like quick and they moved on, and then there was a new thing they were fighting about. Like Miami.
This episode like this episode, for instance, has like, you know, you're still talking about the fish of it all. Like that, that's like a funny, petty little fight. You're talking about someone's delivery, you're talking about not getting invited to a birthday party, you know, like that's like kind of like the stuff.
Yes, and I Daisy, let's talk about Daisy for a second, because I'm seeing a lot of Daisy hate on the internet, and I it reminds me of like the Vicky hate where I feel like the hate is a little misplaced. Because yes, she is awful, yes, she is a constant complainer. Yes, she is passive aggressive as fuck.
Everything she says has like an undercut to it, like she can't give you a compliment without it being backhanded. Yeah, she sucks. Like, yeah, she does suck. Daisy sucks. I love it. I love it. We need someone who fucking sucks because that's where the drama is coming from. Like her being such a bitch and then giving like Erica something to react to.
I mean, Erica, I love her, and she's not the drama, like that. That's another thing. Like, you don't have to be kooky drama queen central to to work. Like, Erica is is normal. That's what's it works, you know. You have normal Erica, you have kooky Haley, and you have bitchy, complainy, whiny, Daisy. And that is like the that right there is like the chemistry, you know, like you've got like each of them is like the neutron or the whatever the fuck you put it all together and it creates the perfect element, right?
Like that is they're the recipe, right?
You you have a little bit of each, and you have things that like remind me of like old Rony in a sense, where it's like, even though like Erica Hammond isn't really like my favorite, um, and not because of like she it's not like she annoys me, it's like she's she's a a more muted point. She kind of gives like the Kristen Takeman, you know, it's like yeah, she kind of gives the Kristen Takeman, or even a little bit of like the Tinsley kind of like energy, like the younger girl, and then you have like Daisy, which is giving like kind of the Ramona, and then you have like Carol who's still like the downtown cool edgy girl, but like that's our nostalgia.
Like, that's what like what's making us remember, like, oh, we're in the Rony universe. Like, before I was like, We're not in the Rony universe, like, yeah. I mean, you're gonna thank God you're back on here. We could talk about Marvel or shit like that.
Cinematic universes, you know, it's like yeah, we were outside of the we were outside, we were at a completely different timeline. Can I ask you? Like, I think I know the answer, but what's your whole position? What's your take on like the Carol and the uh Epstein files of it all? Like, how do you feel about this?
Because I couldn't give a fucking rip.
Okay, I'm sorry. I don't give a rip. I don't give a rip. No, I'm like, I don't think that Carol had any like involvement in like I think people are just weird and they want people to blame. I'm like, blame the politics, like guys, you have I've seen more flack for Carol Radswell online than I have seen for um anyone in power right now that is not releasing the files that's in there, you know.
I just think it's like very weird. I think you guys always just like want to like drag somebody, and it's like it's I don't know. I I'm like, have you ever you think that you they're just like all kicking about that? Like there's I'm not gonna go into details, but there's been at least two things in my life where I did not realize that the person that I was like kind of socially connected to.
Could you imagine? Like, we see people at the gay bar all the time. Yeah, you know, it's like could you pictures and then be like, and then something happens, and then they're like, Oh, Zach was friends with them. It's like, baby, it was uh it was a Friday night. I was toasted.
Yeah, um, like I'm like, I'm not yeah, there was a person in my friend group when I lived in Iowa who we all were fooled by. We thought he was just like a good person, and uh something came out about him, um, where it involved like him trying to hit on like a high schooler that worked at his store. And um, yeah, everyone in the town, everyone in the community was like, You guys all hang out with him, like you're complicit.
And it's like, yeah, I agree. This is awful. I had no fucking idea he was that type of person, and I don't talk to him anymore because of this, so leave me out of it, you know. Yeah, it's like why I don't know.
You that people just want someone to blame, especially in this society. Like, it's like I feel like we talk about this all the time, where with you know, I think that cancel culture is definitely like warranted in certain stances, in certain circumstances, but like in other circumstances, I was like, you just feel powerless, and the most power you have is canceling them on Twitter.
It's like it's just yeah.
I won't name names, but I have a friend who is very um name them. No, I'm kidding, very, very tapped into housewives and is super like gung-ho about Cy calling her out on the Epstein stuff. And he like sent the video from this week's episode where those like hecklers yelled at her about the Epstein files.
He sent that to our group chat and he was like, I can't stop laughing. This is so funny. Look at how uncomfortable Carol is. And I just sat there, I didn't have a response because I'm just like, you thinking this is funny is like part of the problem to me because it's not like I couldn't give two shits.
I don't think she did anything. And like, I don't, it's kind of like I didn't respond to his like him sending that to the chat because I it's kind of like the Nini, I'm not gonna go back and forth with you. Let's just make these plates for these men. Like, I'm yeah, right, right. I'm not gonna sit here and go back and forth with you about whether or not Carol knew anything because I don't give two fucking shits.
I don't, and and guess what you're part of the problem. Guess what? If if it comes out with all this evidence that Carol was like so deeply involved in it, then yeah, I will like not support her whatsoever.
But like, wouldn't that have already happened?
Like, that's my I'm like, I just like don't see a world where Carol's doing that. I don't know. You cannot like Carol, that's fine. Like, you cannot like there's so many people online where they're like, and guess what? By the end of the season, you guys aren't gonna like Carol. And I'm like, that's great, congratulations, happy birthday.
I I I am just like not in that camp. I just like don't I don't care, especially with like this like Cy and Carol beef. Like, they're like, Yeah, people online were going, like, oh my gosh, she's she's over-exaggerating how psy talked to her. I go, housewives, I don't know how to explain this to you. I don't know how to explain that that is a part of like the job description is like to over-exaggerate about something that is not necessary, like you don't need to over-exaggerate.
But I don't even think it was over-exaggerating. It wasn't I think I I do think Cy is aggressive, and I feel like I feel like part of the issue is Cy is a woman of color, and so now the fandom is like you can't call a woman of color aggressive. And I'm like, I understand that that is a sensitive thing that we should definitely be careful about, like calling um anyone, but like especially someone who maybe is belongs to that, like a marginalized group.
But Cy is like I would say it's more of like she's a New Yorker, it's like that's how I look at it. It's like that aggressive New Yorker that Cy is kind of like tapping into. Girl, you've gotta like chill. Like Carol is not on the witness stand. And I just yeah, not a fan of it. And I I'm not like hating Carol at all.
Like, I don't understand how someone could be hating Carol right now.
I just don't I'm also like enjoying Cy this season, too. Like, it's like yeah, I'm enjoying Cy, I'm enjoying Carol, I like their little beef. Let them have their beef. We let them have their beef.
Like, is I didn't miss this is what's making it interesting.
Right. I'm like, just let them have their beef. And like coming as someone, I'm uh Puerto Rican, I'm Puerto Rican myself. We are loud, we are. I mean, I'm loud, we are loud.
I'm not she was going, she was going like Carol, Carol, Carol.
And did Carol like over exaggerate a little bit on the bench? Like, sure, but that is like literally a part of the job. Like, I don't know, Cy over-exaggerates, Aaron over-exaggerates, the whole cast over housewives in general over exaggerate. Like, that's the point. That's the point.
There are two things that I will kind of ding Carol on. The first is the way she answered the questions and the way she handled it was a little sketch. Like, I don't think that she's guilty of anything, but the way she was so careful with her words when they were um at Mosquito Island, just kind of it was like, girl, you're making yourself look guilty by the way you're so careful with what you're saying.
And like, yeah, like you did have like letters with Ghlaine where you were like kikiing, you're not, you know what I mean?
So instead of like trying to downplay it, I would you just gotta own it and lean into it a bit because I'd be like, Yeah, I knew her, we partied, and I had no idea.
Like, yeah, you're being too sketch about your you're not helping yourself, so that's the thing.
I do think it's just like, but it is we are in that era where it's like nothing you say like will like matter, they'll still like make it a sign. So exactly if you say nothing, if you say nothing, you're reprimanded for it. If you say too much, you're also reprimanded for it.
So it's just yeah, but I do think that she did it help herself. The second thing that I'll ding her on is you know, she is a writer and she's a great writer, and you know, I'm somewhat of a writer myself, and so I kind of you know, I I I I respect uh Carol's ability to narrate and tell a story and a good analogy, but now the onion thing has to stop.
Okay, I don't want to hear about the onion again. She did it.
I was gonna say, is this the second time she said something about the onion?
Yes, and it it feels like one of those things that she thought about and she thought, huh, that's a good way to describe it. And then she, it's like, okay, but now it's multiple episodes of you talking about how I'm an apple, and and I'm at this point in my life where I don't want onions, I want apples, and when you peel back an onion, it's just more onion.
It's like, well, if you chop into an apple, it's just more apple. Like your analogy isn't actually that like profound, yeah. And I'm just kind of like, I we gotta stop. I don't want to hear the onion again. Just like um I, you know, last season of Ronnie, not dare I ever speak of it. The pigeon thing, the pigeon, like the oh the pigeons, yeah.
I'm like, I we have to let the mouse go.
I mean, they that was in the trailer, they had pigeons fly. Like the the editors did way too much with the pigeon, and I feel like I I I'm worried we're doing too much with the onion. We gotta start. I totally, I totally agree. No more onion.
So I'm like, let's take the onion out of this. Let's take the onion out.
Like, let's let's leave the fruit and the veggies out of it.
But otherwise, I'm happy on a side, on a side note, I did want to bring up um Erica's surrogacy story. I thought that scene with her and her husband was actually like really like beautiful. And it turned out, you know, he was absolutely right. All she needed was a sip of that dirty martini, and then they got a text.
Yeah. I, you know, go clocking back a little bit to the Potomac recap we just did, you know, Courtney had her IVF thing. I kind of always like joke that when these type of storylines come up, I just skip like it's like my bathroom break. I am kind of like, I don't, I don't want to see Housewives on a podcast as part of their storyline.
I and I I get to a point with like the pregnancy journey stuff too, where it's like, okay, I've seen this a million times. I've seen this so many times on Housewives. However, I do think there is merit in like sharing these things because it raises awareness, right? So, like the IVF thing, there are probably a lot of people out there who can relate to Courtney, and so it probably is really helpful.
Who's Courtney from uh Potomac is what I'm talking about. Oh, you were left like her IVF scene where she was like crying because her eggs aren't very viable.
Yeah, I was like, I thought you were, I thought we were just talking about Erica.
I was like, Then her husband, well, I'm getting there, but like then her husband was like, you know, hey, that woman did say that like she had worse viability with her eggs than you, and she still naturally had a baby. So I feel like that probably is like helpful for a lot of like women watching that are going through that.
It's like it raises awareness, right? So I think obviously on the Roney side of things, it probably is like really good for awareness and such that like they're having their surrogacy like be shared on the show. That being said, these are the type of storylines that I just I just don't care. Like I just don't I let's move on, let's move on.
Um, and so that's how I feel about that. But I do really enjoy Erica on the show. I enjoy all the new girls. I'm I'm enjoying Jessel Cy and Aaron too, but I will you know say I think that those are the three um weakest links on the on the cast, like those sort of carryovers from this the the the last reboot, you know.
I don't think that they're yeah, I I'm I agree, but I do saw they have their moments, they have their moments, and I will say, I really when did Abe get hot? Has he always been hot? I know Brandon used to call him Abe the Babe, but like when did he get like no he's not hot no read? He's his he's fit, he's fit and he's like kind of handsome.
Okay, he's really proper fit.
Does not equ like we're talking about Aaron's Aaron's husband, right?
Abe, yes, Abe the Babe.
I'm not there for that, but you know, we all have our opinions.
I think he's really I don't know. I've never been attracted to him, and but this something about the season, I don't know, like I don't know, something is yeah. I I I kind of like you.
I kind of like yeah, I get it. Rony is definitely um pleasantly surprised. And you know what's funny? It really goes to show you can't believe everything you hear on the internet because I think like six months ago there was like a rumor that this new season of Rony was so bad that they were just gonna like release it all on Peacock in one day and move on.
And I think I like sent that to our group chat and I was like, if this is true, just do it. Like just just like drop it on Peacock and move on because like I'm sick of phony. I was just I was you know, I'm so ready to believe the bad news about phony because I just don't like it. But this season is doing a good job.
I'm not gonna say great because I don't think it's great. I think we just have been deprived of good from Roni for so long that we're like really pleased right now, and that's fair, but I think objectively it's not great.
Okay, it's not we are on our way, we are on our way back, like we are on the we are on the right track for sure. And next week it seems like we're gearing up for a good episode. Like, I think like the rest of the season is gonna be like heavy hitters. I think we're gonna have probably have a really good reunion.
It seems like the my one critique is I'm not seeing enough Haley Glassman.
We we started strong with her, and she faded into the background.
I'm hoping that because I'm hoping that like with her, it's like more we're focused on the Daisy side of it all and like the Carol of it all, but like I I love Haley's like kookiness. Like, I like her solo scenes crack me up. Like they I don't need her to be like super involved in the drama, like she just is a kooky character and she like makes me laugh.
No, I really love her a lot. She kind of reminds me of like the she's like the Sonya of the cast, where it's like a little like everything she says, I'm like, I'm giggling, you know.
And then what's the friend of what's her name? Because she's Devin Devin. So pretty. And did you say last episode I was listening in that Mo works with her?
Mo is styling her um, yeah. So he's been like doing like her postseason stuff, um uh some shoots that she's doing, things like that. I'm sure he'll do her reunion look. Uh, I think they're getting ready for that. So um that's gonna be great. I think she's so beautiful. I've known Devin. Uh people who are in a the reality TV world have known her forever because she was on the challenge.
And then also, um, I knew her because she was on the Wendy Williams show all the time. Because she was a matchmaker. So like I would always see her on the Wendy Williams. Show, but she just seems like she's gonna be like such a good fit. So, like, I really like going forward with this cast, I want them to like keep the cast the same and like uh maybe promote Devin or bring in another friend of or you know, whatever it may be.
But I'm Carol, Carol was supposed to be a friend, right? That was when they announced Carol was back, it was friend. But then when the trailer and the cast photo came out, it was clear they bumped her up. So I think um maybe like Devin had maybe Devin would have been full-time had they not made that decision to to to bust in Carol.
But right, yeah, we're on the right track. I'm happy with Rony. I'll stop calling it phony for now.
For now. For now.
I'll never not call those last two seasons phony.
No, those are always those are not canon to me. This season I'm this is the true, this is the real like season, like this is the real reboot.
This season I'm I'm I'm using the hard R and I'm and I'm calling it Rony.
Anyways, that is our New York City recap. Not phony, Rony. Rony. Let's get into the real housewives of Salt Lake City.
You spend the whole time you want to get in your child in your career just what happened to your husband?
What happened to your child? Love to your husband, live in your child. What are you talking about? What happened to my child? Did you do that? What are you talking about, Mary? We all have to take care of ourselves. Don't you? It's a response of her. You guys, I'm not not liking this at all.
I know Angie is just seeing red and has no idea what she's saying, but I've heard awful things be said in this group of friends, and none of them added together go this low.
This is bull. I can a fing face on the belly person. Sit down and shut up.
You are really God, what situation we were. I'm sitting here as a mother's world of self-care. And I'm not gonna be down because I can ask them face jump. I can get a f face if I want to. And then sit down. I worked my laptop and my mother.
I'm done. Somebody get gin shaw out of here.
Alright, let's talk about Salt Lake City. This was a crazy episode. I think that this season started off just a little slow, but now we're getting back into that, like those Salt Lake moments where it's you're kind of like taken off guard. You're like, oh my gosh, like, how is this like what's going on?
Like just the dynamics of the women. I was getting nervous that we were entering a territory where you know Atlanta was for a minute on their last season, where it's I'm struggling following the beef. But now I'm now I'm getting it. Yeah, I'm getting it now.
So, you know, you know, I'm as you know by now, I'm kind of harsh. Uh and you know, quick quick the judge.
I I just is so much bigger than Gracie Abrams right now, by the way.
Yeah, yeah. I am enjoying this season. I'm not quite there with the oh, we're back to like what I love about like I uh no no housewives franchise has ever had like a 10 out of 10 home run, like multi-season run. Like at some point you do dip. And I I do think that this season, I think we're gonna look back like a few years from now and we're gonna say this is when they started to like go downhill.
I I think that you know, you can only cook in the kitchen for so long, you know? And I I think that we are just the golden, I think the golden era is we're in the twilight era. Like we're we're moving to that place. And I I say that with all the love in my heart, but I just don't think that Heather Gay or Whitney are bringing anything to the table anymore.
I'm sick of Heather specifically, but I would be good with Heather and Whitney going away. I don't need them anymore. I love Mary, and I commend her for coming back to film so quickly, but I'm also questioning if maybe that was the right choice because, like, what are we getting out of it? Like, we're not getting a whole lot, and she's really sensitive.
Like, she's really, really sensitive. And I understand why she's sensitive. But last week she completely misunderstood what Britney Bateman was saying and turned it into a whole thing that it wasn't. And this week, while I do think Angie was in the wrong, I also understand that Angie was like just responding really quickly and just repeating what was being said to her.
So it's like, what about your husband and child? Like, and I'm not saying she should be given like that much grace because it is a terrible thing to say, but I don't think that she meant it. I think she was just like repeating what Mary was saying to her. I also think Mary has a tendency to be really rude and we all just like laugh it off, like, oh, that's Mary.
But why does Mary get to do it? But then it can't be done back to her. As soon as it's done back to her, it's oh, I can't believe you did that to me. But it's like Mary, you say crazy shit. You called Heather inbred, you said that Whitney looked tacky. I I love that you say these things, but let's be so fucking for real right now.
You also get to get got, you know, like I don't know. I don't, you're not immune because you're not immune because you're going through a hard time right now. You're not like if you if like maybe you shouldn't be filming then. If if if it's gonna be like that, where how dare you? I just lost my son, how dare you say that to me?
Well, then maybe you should just like take yourself out off the plate. Maybe you should pick up your ball and go home for the night. Like maybe you shouldn't be on the playground right now, you know?
Like that's kind of I totally hear I hear what you're saying, and I also agree that like we tend to have forgotten. I do think that Mary is such a complex character, and we have seen so many different layers to her now where like we have seen the deep stuff, we have seen her like because before it wasn't we weren't really getting like a soft side of Mary where she was being kind and showing like true friendship, and so we've kind of gotten to this place where we like know that her and Angie are really good friends.
I think that's like what makes it the scene like yeah, very gaggy and like almost hard to watch. Like you were like, I was like shocked, you know. Um, but I started to see like how the old Mary was, yeah, you know, where it's like relentless. And I think even in if you go back two episodes when they were at that dinner and she's asking Angie like what's going on with you and Sean, like she's being rude about it.
She's not coming in, like being like, Angie, is everything okay? Are you alright? She's like, Oh my god, tell us today, today, Angie, when you and Sean, what what's going on with you and you and Sean? And I don't think Angie right now feels comfortable diving into all that, and you and also it's like it's two ships passing in the night.
Like, you know, when you're when you are thinking you're doing a favor to somebody else and they think they're doing a favor to you, or like they don't like Angie is thinking, like Mary's saying that Angie is thinking all about herself, but Angie is also saying, like, I'm I don't want to overwhelm Mary with like my drama right now.
Yeah, and and Mary doesn't even know that Angie has withheld all this stuff, quote unquote air quotes, about herself.
And I think that at the reunion, Mary is gonna say, I'm so hurt that you hid this from me. Yeah, how dare you? And I think it's like you said, it's two ships passing in the night because Angie thinks that she's doing the right thing. I okay, I love Angie K. I love her to death. I have loved her for a very long time, and I think the thing that is going to be her downfall is also the thing that was her come-up.
Um, it's like a double-edged sword with Angie. She really does like know, she doesn't have a boundary. She will go as low as she needs to go. I think that we have enjoyed that for the last few seasons, and that is what has skyrocketed her to fame, is just how like she will say the craziest shit to these women.
On the flip side, though, it's also I think kind of biting her in the ass right now. I feel like Angie flew has is I think Angie's flying a little too close to the sun right now, is what I'll say. I think that she her wings are about to get burned off because it on the one hand, we do want our housewives to like gossip and tell secrets they're not supposed to tell and be bone collectors.
But like last episode, her immediately going to Bromwyn and just being like, this was said, this was said, this was said, it's like it's almost too predictable at this point. It's like, oh wow, like you really are just like, I think you think that that's what you're supposed to do on this cast, is is just like tell everybody shit and and stir the pot constantly.
But I think what was so interesting specifically about this episode was you were like watching a real housewife short circuit in real time. Like you were watching a housewife who thinks I have to do this, I have to be on for this, I have to spread this gossip, I have to be combative, and then kind of like lose it, like lose the plot for a second.
And so when her and Mary were kind of going at it, I mean, I totally agree. How long can you get berated like that? You know, and Mary was really going in, going in, going in. And I totally agree with you, where I think Angie just like repeated like a housewife script where she would be like, What about your you know?
Um, it was kind of like yeah, it was different, but it reminded me weirdly enough about that one scene in Vanderpump when she's like, Well, thank god you don't have a man to have around you. Yeah, you know, where it was like, um, and so I feel like it she just went into autopilot, and then when she realized the autopilot did her dirty, like the chat GPT, the the AI did her dirty, then she was like, I have to see your ship, and she's just like the facial, the facial, and it's like, okay, well, now we're not even talking about the facial babe.
We have to talk about what just came out of your mouth. And you even saw like all the women who are like uh uh on this cast. Like, I think what was super like crazy about the scene was their reactions, like Heather's reaction, Lisa's reaction, Bronwyn's reaction, and the whole cast reaction was like, We have to steer the ship right now, like guys, uh guns down, like this is not no longer like a fun little housewife scene.
Like, Lisa was calming her down. Like, even Bronwyn, who has beef with Bra uh Angie right now, was like, babe, I'm trying to do what's best for you, and I know that you and Mary are very, very close and real, real, real friends. Like, let's steer the ship.
Yeah, I do think it went too far. I think Angie is in the wrong, but I don't think she meant it. I think she was just repeating, like, you know, Mary said, What happened to your daughter? What happened to your or what happened to your kid? What happened to your husband? And then Angie was just like immediately being like, What about your kid?
What about your husband? And like, as soon as it came out of her mouth, she realized, like, oh shit, your kid is not with us anymore. But like, Mary, what do you mean? Also, like, what did you mean by that?
What did you mean by the husband?
What did you mean by what about your kid? What about your husband? Like, you're insinuating that Angie's not being a good parent either, which is not true. So, like, what are you fucking talking about? Like, I think that, like, again, I'm sorry, but Mary, just because your son passed away does not give you a pass to be a fucking bitch to your friends, and but you don't get to that they're that they're not allowed to be a bitch back to you.
Like, I'm sorry, but I really don't think that Angie is that in the wrong. Like, I do think she's ultimately she she she needs to apologize for that. But I leading up to that argument, I was actually on Angie's side. I was like, Mary, you are tripping so hard right now. And like I I love when you called Heather gay inbred, but at the same time, who the fuck do you think you are to call someone inbred?
Who the fuck do you think you are? Like, where what who gave you the right? And then, like, even when um, even when Lisa Barlow said god damn, and then immediately had to be like, Oh, sorry, Mary, I know I'm not supposed to say that. And Mary was like, Yeah, don't say that. Like, that's kind of like, no, like just because you're a Christian doesn't mean that I'm not allowed to say god damn.
Like, my nana is this way. She literally thinks that saying goddamn is like the worst thing you can do, like worse than the F bomb, worse than the C word. And she literally gets so upset if at Christmas, if me and my brother like let it slip in front of her. And I try, and yeah, I do try not to say it in front of her because I know it upsets her.
But at the same time, why is that my goddamn problem?
That you don't like it, yeah, you don't like the word that I'm gonna do. I wasn't allowed to say, Oh my god, as a kid, and like you know, even like sometimes I catch myself like when I'm in front of my dad and I say, like, oh my god, and I'm like, Who is he?
Like, how do you feel about that? I'm sorry, I just I don't know. So I'll no, but I agree where it's like kind of like people walk on be even prior to everything that's gone on, people walked on eggshells around Mary, and we always have she got to sit, she got to sit in that sprinter van and eat her fileto fish a couple seasons ago because she didn't want to partake in the any activity.
And this season, while she had a valid reason, she didn't go on the cast trip. I'm just like, why are you holding a snowflake? Like, like and then she because she's a Christian, she won't do anything horoscope or Reiki, or like she ref she she sits out of these things that are like demonic to her. So then, like during the Reiki session, she's like, I'm not doing this.
It's like I don't know. At a certain point, it's I I'm sick of it. I'm sick of it.
I get why she's holding a snowflake this season because she's still in the mouse, she's still like yeah, no, whatever. Yeah, I'm she's got a very big, very big personal storyline. But I will I totally see what you're saying when it comes to like just you can't be you need to be participant, and if you're gonna dish it, you gotta take it.
Is is true, yeah. And so like but I don't think what Angie said was okay whatsoever. No, hated it. I cringe, I did like, I was like, oh I do my god.
I do think Angie is kind of like, like I said, flying a little too close to the sun this time.
But you could tell when Angie started to come out of it, she because she lit, she seriously like short, like she was going. We were watching a woman come undone in that moment, yeah. Like she was like completely losing it and losing the plot. And I think Angie has I think it's very interesting. I think it is super interesting to look at Angie's trajectory on Housewives and where she's at now, and so and how she's gotten there.
And then I think it was like like you said, flew too close to the sun, and she's like realizing like, oh my god, like the glue on my wings that I've made are melting. Like, what is going on? I gotta fix this right here. Oh, this is uh oh, this wing is on fire. Let me let me put this out. But then the other one is going crazy, and it's like she's not focusing on like the bigger picture at hand.
And I think she just lost herself in the and I think that's a very interesting social commentary. On we've always talked about with housewives in general, especially Salt Lake City, um the model of it now, and you know, the nature of the beast and like what you have to do and what you have to do to keep your spot and everything like that.
And I think Angie, like, you know, she was doing all her usual stuff. You know, we always when you were on the mic, we used to always make fun of like her cadence of how she would like do um arguments when she would like and she was doing it at the Ricky thing. She's like, Well, you are a snake, and you are slithering around, and you are like, you know, she's like doing like this like script in her head.
Um script trying to she's she's like you can tell she came up with that before they started.
And so with this whole thing, what I thought was just so fascinating and so real about it was after that comment, and she just sorts short-circuited and went crazy. And you could tell all the women were like, you know, Mary's like, Why are you comforting Angie? And it's like they're not comforting Angie because what she said wasn't wrong.
They're comfort because they they see a woman in distress, like freaking out, like where it's like, well, she's having a psychotic. It's it's what's that scene in um it's like Heather DeBros, it's like, guys, I think she's having a psychotic break. She needs, yeah, like she needs an ambulance.
Yeah, she needs an ambulance when she's talking about Shannon Madore, who probably was having a psychotic break. It was very Shanna Badour coded, like season nine, Shanna Bador freak out. Um well, okay, not to keep whacking Mary over the head, but I was getting annoyed that Mary's like whole part of Mary's like whole issue was that Angie was talking to Britney at the event the week before, after Britney offended her.
First of all, she you're offended because you didn't hear her correctly. And this is a very classic housewives thing, I know, but it seems to be very much the case for this group of women in Salt Lake this season. So much of the drama revolves around you guys just not hearing each other right. Right.
Because what was the other thing? The diabolical, and then someone was like, no, they said Diablo. Yeah, whatever that means. Whatever that means. We are literally like being so nitpicky with like words right now, and it's just dumb. It's like you guys are all talking over each other, and so therefore you're not hearing each other, and then you're like putting words in each other's mouth to justify your anger, and it's like to an extent, it's funny.
To an extent, though, it's also like this is not like it's not this is not the drama I'm like that I'm signing up for, yeah. Like, let's do something else, you know, and that's why I do think these women are kind of slipping a little bit for me. Like, I do think that like the golden era is at its end because I'm just not seeing what I used to see from these women.
I do have a couple of other like notes for this episode when Angie asks Sean if he knows what grinder is. Did you catch that in this episode? Yeah, was Sean even in this episode? I think so.
I just I think that was at the beginning of the season. She asked like um her brother and dad what grinder was.
Okay, maybe I I don't know, maybe it was I Because there are room there are rumors. I could have sworn, I could have sworn she Which there's always gonna be rumors if your husband's a hairstylist, yeah. Well that was funny, and then um we can we just go back to the beginning of the episode when Lisa Barlow is like, I have dreams, and they're not they're what did she say?
She's like, they're not like she's like they're gaga level. They're gaga dreams.
She's like, they're not they're not community theater dreams, they're like level dreams.
Okay, this is housewives thinking that they can be a pop star will never not be funny to me. And her doing like vocal lessons. Um, Lisa Barlow is someone that I have come to really, really value and appreciate, especially post girls' trip. I think going on girls' trip made Lisa a better housewife on Salt Lake because I I totally agree.
I think it went to her ego a little bit because she was the one that got to represent them. So you, I mean, how can you not, right? You walk away and you're like, I'm the face. Like Luann's probably like, I'm the face. Kyle's like, I'm the face. Vicki's like, I'm the face. You know, Lisa gets to say that now.
She gets to say, I'm the one they asked to go. And I think that's also why Heather was coming at her, and Angie, Kay, were coming at her so hard at the um Berkshears party because they I think they're a little insecure that she got to be the Salt Lake girl on the track on the on the cast. Um, but I also think Lisa Barlow going on that show gave her a perspective uh that she's now she's being she's being funnier.
Okay, like she's being like hypocrisy and bullshit, and one more time, like she learned from the best, is what I'm trying to say. I think she learned from the best. She came back to her cast and she's like, This is how I treat the haters, you know? And um, and I think she's a better housewife for it.
So I'm really, I'm really loving I'm loving her, and I I need a John Barlow.
Yeah, you need a John Barlow. You love the need a John Barlow. When he's like, I think Lisa's God, I said, I need to- Oh my god, I was dying when he's like Hall D song, I am not a woman, I'm a god. That's how I look at my wife. I was like, put that on I was like, put that on a Hallmark card, right? I thought we were in Salt Lake City.
Is this not like sacrilegious? That was so funny to me. No, that was really funny. What do you think about Bronwyn and her boyfriend? Isn't it okay? Hasn't it been confirmed? Help help me keep things like straight here. In real time, in present day, they're not together.
They're not together, I know.
And isn't it wasn't that like a whole news thing that we saw? Like it was a it was a publicity stunt.
I don't know if that's like ever been confirmed. I just think it's like highly uh thought to be. And honestly, like when she comes over to him and she goes, Oh, um they think that I like bought paid for you or whatever, and his response was not like that's crazy. Like his response was like, Oh, oh, the gig is up.
Like, it was like it was very that. It was just it just didn't seem real. It was, I don't know. Uh Bronwyn's rubbing me a little weird this season. I'm definitely like not team Bronwyn in much that's going on, but well, she's a liar, she's a liar, but at least she's at least she's entertaining. I will say that.
She is entertaining, but she's a liar, and being a liar does not disqualify you.
It is kind of making me more excited for her run on Traders, I will say.
Oh, I forgot she's gonna be on Trades Tables Tables.
Yeah, she's gonna be on Traders and she's gonna be at the round table. She's like, I was I was wearing plaid the other day.
Yes, I was actually. You're right, you're right. I was and uh doesn't mean I'm a trader and uh I was in the challenge, I did.
Yeah, you're right, you're right. I did look at that.
Like it's it's crazy. Well, okay, so I I do think that her lying is getting is catching up to her a little bit though. I mean, like for instance, I know you guys have covered this.
I mean, even in this episode when she's like, I was not laughing, and I'm like, you weren't as like firm. I don't want to hear about this. It it's Angie, like I could see how Angie would be like, you were laughing the entire time I came to tell you that rumor, by the way. And she was it was more of a nervous laugh, but don't say you weren't laughing, like you were like giggling.
Like in when they went to San Francisco, it's like, okay, first of all, you said this is your favorite disco bar, but then you also say when I found out there's a disco bar, so like that was a fucking I just think you're a liar. I I I I know Annie was on the mic being like, well, maybe production changed location.
No, no, no, no, no, no. No. When you when you when you when you when you white lie as much as as your lies can is a white lie, that's what that is. She's a white lie, she's a walking white lie. And I do think Brittany was onto something with the deed, and you're not on the deed, and I I I everyone everyone loves to hate on Brittany, but like she was right, she was right, and I just think like even getting upset at the hypocrisy and bullshit song, like you you could have chosen to leave with that, and she's still upset in real time about it, she's still upset in real time about it.
She doesn't have anything else, I think. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Bronwyn, you're on notice for me. I need I wasn't really sold on Bronwyn to begin with, and then like last season I kind of came around, and now I'm kind of back to like, I don't know, I just don't know.
I still think that she's like good for like the show. I'm just like not team Bronwyn.
She's better for the show than Whitney or Heather. I'll say that. Right. Um, but yeah, I don't know. I I'm having fun with these ladies. This latest episode was definitely like the height of what we've seen so far this season.
I think we've had, I think overall so far, like we've had some good moments, and I think the season will continue. I do think it's like not Salt Lake's best, but I still don't think it's like a bad season. No, I would not call this a bad season, but I do think it is like kind of in terms of let's say it reminds me of New Jersey.
Yeah when we had the same cast for New Jersey for a couple seasons, and it was like, yes, like yeah, it is a solid cast, but like we're running we're running a little stale, we're running a little stale. So I do think that there definitely needs to be some kind of like a little bit of like a shift. Yeah, we need a new era of Salt Lake, you know.
I think that like when we when the Bravo historians look back at this time, I do what season is this, by the way? Is this seven? And what season did Monica come in for? Um Monica was season four. I think that I think that we're gonna have like the Gen Sha era, and then I think we're gonna have like the golden era, and the golden era is gonna be like season four through like maybe like is next season season eight.
Yeah.
I feel like they're gonna be like, I think the Bravo historians are gonna look back and say, yeah, season seven is when it started to decline, but it was still good. It was still good, but you could sense that things were changing. And I think that like by season eight or nine, there needs to be some sort of like shift.
I think we need a shift, yeah. I'd say, I'd say like probably next season, to be honest.
I think like next season needs to be what better way to usher in a new era than to fire Heather Gay. I just don't I don't know. I think it's time.
I did, I did chuckle when Angie was like short circuiting and going crazy and going so low, and Mary was like, uh, someone get Genshaw. Get her. No, someone get Genshaw. I was like, that was a slur. That was not mentioned.
Because you know that girl wants her ass back in. I know she's been tweeting. She's been, yeah.
So I would like to see something. I would like to see something.
I I wouldn't be opposed.
I wouldn't be opposed to like I wouldn't be opposed to a Monica return. I want to be opposed to I would be opposed to like maybe like a full-time gen return, but I would not be opposed to like a sit-down scene with Jen Shaw. Oh my god, with someone. I'm like Andy Cohn, if you know what's good for you, like Andy Cohn's been pissing me off.
I was saying if you know what's good for you, you will make this happen. No, I don't care. Like, where do you draw the line on like morality? Okay, because you have done some pretty questionably uh questionable things throughout the tenure of Housewives. So, like, where is the line?
Like if Monica and Jen Shaw like came what they what they need to do, it needs to be like a party, like the Berkshires or the White Party. Like a big party, and it needs to be like the little like rattle, like the little cymbal sound, like a little shady symbol sound as Monica walks in, and then from another doorway, Jen Shaw walks in.
You know what? Fuck it. Dana, Angie H. You know what? Fuck it.
Angie H got too soon. Oh my gosh. I definitely think something needs to shift, but I agree. Yeah.
