[SPEAKER_02]: If you're keeping your heart protected from images and movies and narratives and people around you that are causing obedience to field boring, you're going to lose yourself along the way. [SPEAKER_02]: Shape on usually wins way before a Muslim falls into a major sin. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's start with the obvious.

[SPEAKER_02]: When many people hear the word, shape on, or in English more commonly, the devil. [SPEAKER_02]: Often times they're imagining this red little figure with like a tail and horns. [SPEAKER_02]: And they imagine what somebody says the devil is trying to entrap you. [SPEAKER_02]: Like you think the devil is going to pop up as a little red cartoon and tell you things as you see and even the old cartoons like Tom and Jerry and all of that.

[SPEAKER_02]: So oftentimes people think it's that obvious. [SPEAKER_02]: The devil is telling you I'm taking you astray. [SPEAKER_02]: I assume none of us wake up. [SPEAKER_02]: No human being wakes up in the morning. [SPEAKER_02]: And decides today I'm going to ruin my life and destroy my faith and destroy my family and destroy my afterlife.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's not a common thing. [SPEAKER_02]: People don't wake up thinking I just want to destroy everything that I have. [SPEAKER_02]: The devil comes to people in ways they're hidden with a distortion. [SPEAKER_02]: and he's been doing this for a long time. [SPEAKER_02]: It's not in you to him.

[SPEAKER_02]: It may be new to us. [SPEAKER_02]: Meaning that experience in life, this stage of your life, you're in high school, you're in university, you're working, and you job, you relocated to a different country, or you have no family or friends around, so you're really being tested in your faith.

[SPEAKER_02]: It may be a new experience for you. [SPEAKER_02]: But it's not new to the devil. [SPEAKER_02]: And we asked the loss of panelantada to protect us on this night on every night and to grant us wisdom and fortresses around us along the army. [SPEAKER_02]: The reason this topic is so important today, is that it's possible someone may go 30 years, 40 years, 50 years as a Muslim, successful in school and work and worldly things.

[SPEAKER_02]: completely dropping their guard and being ambushed every day not realizing they could have taken some of these principles seriously a long time ago and it would have changed the trajectory of their lives. [SPEAKER_02]: It would have changed what they did on campus at work afterwards and on and on.

[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of Muslims that we deal with one-on-one who are struggling with their faith, [SPEAKER_02]: They didn't just leave overnight and started to write a manifesto against Islam and all of this. [SPEAKER_02]: Many people are exhausted, they're confused. [SPEAKER_02]: They're consuming destructive content, not realizing as they see it as entertainment, that it's really eroding their faith.

[SPEAKER_02]: Those guards that we're talking about are not there anymore. [SPEAKER_02]: And the Prophet ﷺ one time described the example of the person who makes a dicker. [SPEAKER_02]: Something we may even be little at times. [SPEAKER_02]: as a person who's running away from an enemy. [SPEAKER_02]: Imagine one person running from an army.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then they ran into a fortress. [SPEAKER_02]: They're protected. [SPEAKER_02]: You have this fortress around you 24-7 when you're upon Vickir and Dua. [SPEAKER_02]: When your heart is connected to Allah, when your Eman is there, a lot of people feel embarrassed, ashamed, addicted to their temptations, their desires, addicted to things online, un-anchored in knowledge.

[SPEAKER_02]: They feel confused. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how to [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of young Muslims may feel hurt by people, not hurt by Islam as a religion but by Muslims because Muslims are not perfect. [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of times people are seduced by the appearances of this world. [SPEAKER_02]: Appearances of different things in society that are packaged really well.

[SPEAKER_02]: shape on, the devil loves that kind of world. [SPEAKER_02]: And the Prophet ﷺ warned us so many times about the devil so that a 19-year-old in 2026 is just as intelligent and wise and disciplined. [SPEAKER_02]: And so from even another perspective here, it's part of masculinity for a man to protect his family against the traps of shape on.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's a trait of being a feminine woman to protect one [SPEAKER_02]: These are not small things, but they're obvious when it comes to their consequences, meaning you see in society what happens when these things are not there. [SPEAKER_02]: And tonight I'd like to present the topic of the devil as like a movie villain.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's not a book, it's not a fiction novel. [SPEAKER_02]: This is a very real talk that Allah SWT warns us about, it's a real enemy, with a very real method, and we ask Allah to protect us and grant us all the fortresses that we can instill in our lives and for our loved ones, Allah Mami.

[SPEAKER_02]: So remember this, before we start with the first trap, Shaitlan is not necessarily trying to make Muslims just fall into sin in the generic broad sense, but also trying to distort how you see reality. [SPEAKER_02]: And you all know, especially those who are on social media for way too long every day, you know how distorted the world is through social media.

[SPEAKER_02]: How messed up it is for a lot of people that a lot of people are observing things and arguing about things and you and I was a Muslim, you're like, what are you talking about? [SPEAKER_02]: This person is so far from reality. [SPEAKER_02]: But you cannot into this mix, the governments and agents and corporations that also benefit when people are confused.

[SPEAKER_02]: So again, that 19-year-old may be lost because they're on social media three hours a day, and they're consuming not just AI-slopping all these things that destroy the brain, but also propaganda. [SPEAKER_02]: Why do you think so many people see Muslims? [SPEAKER_02]: And they find out you pray, like, wait, you're Muslim?

[SPEAKER_02]: You guys, you're a viola, the backwards people? [SPEAKER_02]: And you're like, how many decades have you been on earth for you not to know Islam is not a viola religion? [SPEAKER_02]: You have no excuse. [SPEAKER_02]: You have access to the internet. [SPEAKER_02]: You have access to social media.

[SPEAKER_02]: But also, that's the very same place. [SPEAKER_02]: They got their distortion for them. [SPEAKER_02]: So it's a reminder for us not to have that blind spot. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's go through some of these common strategies of shape onto intrapas and how we can be guarded against the Nishalatana.

[SPEAKER_02]: Are you guys ready for this? [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to mention just seven with the time that we have in Shalatana. [SPEAKER_02]: If you can practice your own guards against these seven, I promise you. [SPEAKER_02]: Allah, I'm swearing by Allah. [SPEAKER_02]: the one who revealed these traps to us.

[SPEAKER_02]: If you can take these seven seriously, you will be protected from InshaAllah Tata. [SPEAKER_02]: So many problematic things in life, it may even protect you from having regrets. [SPEAKER_02]: The types of regrets that follow. [SPEAKER_02]: Number one, one of the most common traps of shape on, and I think really foundational here, is confusing people in the pursuit of what is true.

[SPEAKER_02]: What does that mean? [SPEAKER_02]: One of the oldest tricks of shape-on is not just to go to, let's say, a young Muslim who's in a new environment, making them think just about their desires and temptations, but also to confuse them. [SPEAKER_02]: And I mean here intellectually confuse them, as though Islam does not honor Al-Ahti.

[SPEAKER_02]: The difference between Islam and an arrogant atheist, when it comes to the mind, is that an atheist is putting reasoning al-Ahti on a pedestal and it becomes a God for them. [SPEAKER_02]: So you have a toolbox in life. [SPEAKER_02]: And I can ask you this question, like how do you know what is true in life?

[SPEAKER_02]: You have a toolbox. [SPEAKER_02]: One of the sources of knowledge in life is rationalism. [SPEAKER_02]: You reasoned through things. [SPEAKER_02]: But it's a limited tool, and there's no humble philosopher of religion who will ever say, al-Haflin is the only tool in your toolbox. [SPEAKER_02]: But that's what some young arrogant people will do.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then you have empiricism to observe the world around you. [SPEAKER_02]: Then you have the state of the heart of the Fithra that has to be purified. [SPEAKER_02]: If it's arrogance, then the evidence in front of you is rejected. [SPEAKER_02]: And then you have testimony. [SPEAKER_02]: These are just examples.

[SPEAKER_02]: So Islam does not teach that the human mind sits above a revelation, but rather works in tandem with it. [SPEAKER_02]: The mind will occur when it's connected with a sincere heart. [SPEAKER_02]: and strong empirical skills. [SPEAKER_02]: You know how to observe the world around you. [SPEAKER_02]: One law he you will find that every faculty, including reasoning, will only bring you to a loss of Hanata.

[SPEAKER_02]: Just like many people, many atheists, left atheism, left deism, left other worldviews and [SPEAKER_02]: You know practices if you will for Islam when they became humble when they use their mind when they studied science So they say studying science at the surface level from an atheist perspective doesn't do much for them When you get deeper you find there's no conclusion except that it's all attributed to a creator You have many atheists who used to advocate for staunchly for 50 years and 60 years atheism [SPEAKER_02]: Once they started to dive deep into the different sciences, one of the most famous actually at the end of his life left atheism, and it shook the atheist community.

[SPEAKER_02]: And they started calling him names. [SPEAKER_02]: They said he just done old man. [SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't know what he's talking about after 50 years of, of course, defending him. [SPEAKER_02]: And he said, all we have in science points to God, every single thing points to intelligent design.

[SPEAKER_02]: So for us, revelation is light and reason is a gift and they work together. [SPEAKER_02]: Allah SWT gave us an Aftal, so that when evidence comes to you of truth, you accept it. [SPEAKER_02]: You can have an Aftal, but if it's combined with pride or arrogance, you reject the truth when it comes to.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's problematic. [SPEAKER_02]: What did the Shaykh on himself do? [SPEAKER_02]: What was his very first crime? [SPEAKER_02]: He disobeyed Allah SWT on the basis of Aftal, what did he say when Allah told him to prostrate? [SPEAKER_02]: What did he say when Allah told him to prostrate?

[SPEAKER_02]: He said, Anaheiro Min, by the way, this is a rational argument. [SPEAKER_02]: He's saying, he's disobeying Allah, and the devil is saying, I'm better than him. [SPEAKER_02]: You made me from fire, you made him from clay. [SPEAKER_02]: So he's trying to use a rational argument, like many atheists do today.

[SPEAKER_02]: It sounds like a reasonable argument at first. [SPEAKER_02]: But it actually has no basis, even from a awfully perspective, one of the scholars in Milfayim Rahmullah, he listed a dozen reasons why the clay, in fact, is superior to fire. [SPEAKER_02]: And that has nothing to do with the actual command of Allah SWT which is very straightforward.

[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't matter what you think, you're better, you're not better, Allah told you to prostrate. [SPEAKER_02]: Now you start bringing an African into it, you've conflated revelation for rationalism and you weren't even rational. [SPEAKER_02]: So he is using his reasoning in an incorrect way against revelation of Allah because he is prideful.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then he blames Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. [SPEAKER_02]: He says, Bima of Wa'aitani. [SPEAKER_02]: He says, basically, you, you are the one who caused me to do this by creating a superior being, telling me to prostrate to him. [SPEAKER_02]: So the devil's blaming a loss of Hanotana. [SPEAKER_02]: Now you might look at the story and say, this is an old story.

[SPEAKER_02]: I've heard it thousands of times as a Muslim, but in fact the lessons don't get old because that disease is very much alive today. [SPEAKER_02]: Love, it's alive on social media. [SPEAKER_02]: It's alive in movies embedded in different conversations and stories of fiction of novels. [SPEAKER_02]: Today, pseudo-intellectual arguments, what's called Shubu Hat.

[SPEAKER_02]: doubts. [SPEAKER_02]: It's industrialized. [SPEAKER_02]: It's monetized. [SPEAKER_02]: There are people who make money off of doubt industry. [SPEAKER_02]: Destruction itself is monetized. [SPEAKER_02]: Outrage is monetized. [SPEAKER_02]: Rage bait is monetized. [SPEAKER_02]: There begins is monetized.

[SPEAKER_02]: Today you can find anybody who uses social media. [SPEAKER_02]: You know this is the reality. [SPEAKER_02]: Suddenly, [SPEAKER_02]: So many people in the world martial law are philosophers, therapists, political theorists, movies, they know everything about everything. [SPEAKER_02]: They have comments and opinions on everything.

[SPEAKER_02]: Then in fact, in most cases, they are wrong probably about most of those things. [SPEAKER_02]: And the reality of the world today is that many people, young or old, may watch a 30-second clip. [SPEAKER_02]: And then a podcast. [SPEAKER_02]: They're listening the background to some podcast or an influencer.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then this person, you know, maybe reads a couple of things here and there. [SPEAKER_02]: And then they watch a debate. [SPEAKER_02]: And they start to think to themselves, I think I'm like the one who should be involved in these things. [SPEAKER_02]: And they just start, Masha, I'll have become a busy with what refutation culture.

[SPEAKER_02]: And they're like, this guy has evidence. [SPEAKER_02]: This guy has a pistymology. [SPEAKER_02]: This guy has, you know, whatever he knows he's talking about. [SPEAKER_02]: Some people, I kid you not. [SPEAKER_02]: They're going around refuting scholars. [SPEAKER_02]: or politicians, or Muslim communities in large numbers.

[SPEAKER_02]: And that guy, like he's refuting the community and asked him a single fifth question. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, do you know like, Arkan of Salah or Wudu? [SPEAKER_02]: Is that what? [SPEAKER_02]: Arkan, like, you know, like the four Drakas? [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, no, I'm talking about, like, the Arkan, the pillars of Wudu and the pillars of Salah.

[SPEAKER_02]: And as I got to know what that means. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, you're sitting your refuting theology, like deep theological topics the scholars write books about. [SPEAKER_02]: You think in 30 seconds on TikTok or Instagram, you're going to resolve this issue you've come to the truth. [SPEAKER_02]: For you start also naming scholars, you have no idea what's going on behind the scenes.

[SPEAKER_02]: Have some intellectual humility. [SPEAKER_02]: Because on the outside, the people who will engage with you are usually people at your level. [SPEAKER_02]: Meaning like they're going to argue with you because they're probably in a similar place. [SPEAKER_02]: People who already know the space, they're not wasting their time that you're not even close to the truth.

[SPEAKER_02]: What are you doing with your time? [SPEAKER_02]: What are you doing with your life? [SPEAKER_02]: It's, in fact, very embarrassing. [SPEAKER_02]: Somebody's trying to redesign civilization and insulting, you know, scholarship at a deep level. [SPEAKER_02]: And this person doesn't know that some of the basic things in his lap.

[SPEAKER_02]: And it's not to say people don't make mistakes. [SPEAKER_02]: But to say that we should know our lanes, we should have intellectual humility. [SPEAKER_02]: Shaytan likes for people to have endless skepticism, and they confuse it for intelligence. [SPEAKER_02]: This person is a skeptic with everything.

[SPEAKER_02]: Does Islam, I have a question for you. [SPEAKER_02]: Does Islam teach us not to ask questions? [SPEAKER_02]: Yes or no? [SPEAKER_02]: No, you're a lot to ask questions. [SPEAKER_02]: In fact, if you're asking from a place of sincerity to learn, this is encouraged in Islam, seek the truth with sincerity.

[SPEAKER_02]: Ask questions so you can grow. [SPEAKER_02]: You can tell the difference between a classmate, a non-Muslim classmate who asks you mocking you and who asks you to learn. [SPEAKER_02]: You know when somebody says, you believe in such and such? [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, why do you believe in such and such?

[SPEAKER_02]: What is the evidence for it? [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just curious. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to learn. [SPEAKER_02]: And we noticed the wisdom and all of this oftentimes, the practical lesson is that not every question you have or other people have deserves to live in your head or rent free. [SPEAKER_02]: Don't waste that much time on it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Some things become magnified and profound and they're not profound. [SPEAKER_02]: If you're not sure you always ask somebody reliable, a scholar, don't go to like some forums or social media for your answers on deep theological issues or doubts. [SPEAKER_02]: Oftentimes these things are very parasitic and we ask a lot to protect us from that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Remember that as you see the storms in general, a tree does not survive the storm by arguing with it, it survives with very strong roots in the ground and our faith, our e-man is described in the Quran as that tree and the roots themselves are supposed to be deeply established. [SPEAKER_02]: Don't allow yourself to be shaken by every argument that people make in this world, or the people who claim to be people of intelligence, whatever you have to be allowed.

[SPEAKER_02]: So that's number one. [SPEAKER_02]: Number two, one of the most common traps of Shaypon, that this is the one that we see more commonly on that outside. [SPEAKER_02]: This is that he makes evil, look attractive. [SPEAKER_02]: He makes evil, look, attractive, that was Eina, Nala Humphilard.

[SPEAKER_02]: What a brilliant Humphilard. [SPEAKER_02]: He says, I'm going to beautify for them everything on earth, and I'm going to mislead them all. [SPEAKER_02]: So one of the most powerful strategies of the devil to take people astray in 2026, just as it was a thousand years ago, there is beautification.

[SPEAKER_02]: Shaitan is a master of packaging and sales, and there's not an insult for anyone who just sales. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_02]: But Shaitan is basically taking a terrible, terrible product that leads to health just to be frank. [SPEAKER_02]: And the branding is top notch. [SPEAKER_02]: The branding is whispered.

[SPEAKER_02]: The branding is deceptive. [SPEAKER_02]: And he's not going to come to you and say, oh Ahmad Osada or this or that, he's not going to say, here's something really ugly, ruined, you're after to go ahead. [SPEAKER_02]: Go ahead and take this thing that's going to destroy you. [SPEAKER_02]: What does Shethon trick people with?

[SPEAKER_02]: He says, this is freedom, this is a healing. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's not real freedom, it's enslavement to desire. [SPEAKER_02]: It's not real healing, it's a path of shirk. [SPEAKER_02]: They tell somebody there's a self-expression, just be yourself. [SPEAKER_02]: What do you mean be yourself?

[SPEAKER_02]: Self and nefs oftentimes is wrong. [SPEAKER_02]: What do you mean be yourself? [SPEAKER_02]: What if my self is an angry person and I'm taught in Islam, hold back your anger? [SPEAKER_02]: So what does it mean be yourself? [SPEAKER_02]: This is harmless. [SPEAKER_02]: This is sophistication.

[SPEAKER_02]: This is intelligence. [SPEAKER_02]: This is success. [SPEAKER_02]: Or he'll trick someone into thinking. [SPEAKER_02]: This is what everyone around you is doing. [SPEAKER_02]: All your friends on campus, all your friends on social media. [SPEAKER_02]: This is what they do. [SPEAKER_02]: Why are you so weird?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why are you so different? [SPEAKER_02]: So Shepan takes something that a law hates and says there's a consequence for it. [SPEAKER_02]: And he turns it into a rebranded thing. [SPEAKER_02]: You can take by the way a very healthy product today. [SPEAKER_02]: There are a lot of case studies in business.

[SPEAKER_02]: something that doesn't look attractive. [SPEAKER_02]: And it could be really good for you. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, there's a famous brand without mentioning it because they're not paying us for this endorsement. [SPEAKER_02]: Without mentioning it is sell, they sell apple cider vinegar, like a drink.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's a small percentage. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a soda. [SPEAKER_02]: All right, and it was supposed to be a healthy alternative to the soda and the pop that we drink. [SPEAKER_02]: and they rebranded and it looked really dazzling and like colors and all this stuff it's an own brand and they ended up I think at one point they sold for two billion dollars they exited two billion dollars the rebranding makes a difference in this case they were selling something good arrogance to this young person can become confidence and what's the difference between the two confidence is not kibir your confident about a fact about your religion and on most of them comes up to you and says why do you guys believe in terrorism and violence

[SPEAKER_02]: Your confidence is not arrogance for you to say we don't, but I'm such a proud Muslim. [SPEAKER_02]: And I'll explain to you why we don't believe in such and such, or I believe such and such. [SPEAKER_02]: Confidence is not a bad thing, but if you become arrogance, you're looking down on others.

[SPEAKER_02]: You forget who gave you what you have. [SPEAKER_02]: That's arrogance. [SPEAKER_02]: And the Prophet ﷺ teaches us that. [SPEAKER_02]: In this case, shape on, make someone think that immodesty, taking off, and it once clothes becomes empowerment, liberation, freedom, for men or women. [SPEAKER_02]: Back by eating becomes what hidden as concern.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just concerned about him or her. [SPEAKER_02]: So he's talking about people behind their backs, or in WhatsApp groups. [SPEAKER_02]: And we become ambition. [SPEAKER_02]: and addiction can become the excuse of coping. [SPEAKER_02]: Materials and becomes lifestyle. [SPEAKER_02]: Emotional betrayal becomes, I just want someone to talk to.

[SPEAKER_02]: A haram relationship with someone you shouldn't be texting and talking to becomes what we're really serious. [SPEAKER_02]: And then the disease of the ego and the nephs becomes what I'm finally choosing myself. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I hear one of the most frightening things is when someone has a sin that's rebranded and they don't realize it.

[SPEAKER_02]: They don't feel the ugliness of it at all, they don't feel bad anymore. [SPEAKER_02]: They used to or they might have been taught what was right and wrong, but it's been rebranded so deeply this person is deceived and many people around them in society are deceived as well. [SPEAKER_02]: Think about, want to be cautious with my language, but think about the examples around us in the US today.

[SPEAKER_02]: The things that people normalize. [SPEAKER_02]: They don't see it as that weird they laugh about it. [SPEAKER_02]: It's common, social media is common in person, it's common on campus. [SPEAKER_02]: They'll talk about these things and they're funny. [SPEAKER_02]: But you see the harmful effects of things like hookup culture.

[SPEAKER_02]: You see the harmful effects of things like weed and so on and so forth. [SPEAKER_02]: Obviously there are countless examples and studies to back this up. [SPEAKER_02]: So a person stops reacting to evil. [SPEAKER_02]: They stop feeling like it's odd. [SPEAKER_02]: It becomes so common in some parts of the world that if you don't do it, you're seen as the odd one out.

[SPEAKER_02]: And that's where confidence comes in. [SPEAKER_02]: That's where it is that comes in. [SPEAKER_02]: That's where masculinity comes in. [SPEAKER_02]: that I'm not just falling for what everyone around me is doing. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm walking a path even if nobody around me is on this path.

[SPEAKER_02]: This is what it means in Islam to understand what is true and to walk that path with sincerity. [SPEAKER_02]: And one of Shafan's most effective lies is he's essentially hiding the bill that you're paying, the consequences of your sin, and he's advertising the pleasure. [SPEAKER_02]: The pleasure may be real, but it's fleeting.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's deceptive. [SPEAKER_02]: how many marriages and relationships and families have been destroyed because something outside of that home was made to see more exciting than what a person already has. [SPEAKER_02]: How many times have people fallen into Zina or other sins? [SPEAKER_02]: Because they thought this thing will finally bring me happiness or joy or pleasure.

[SPEAKER_02]: And the excitement of the sin that they know is problematic is what led them down that path. [SPEAKER_02]: People who are married note that a spouse, when a shate on rebrands, a spouse, a husband or wife, may become ordinary. [SPEAKER_02]: Because the nephs, that person's nephs is so trained by fantasy, trained by looking on the outside, trained by movies and TV shows that are usually casting like the best-looking and fake-looking actors and actresses.

[SPEAKER_02]: This person's addicted to seeing things on social media or online that are problematic. [SPEAKER_02]: So even their standards, the beauty standards have become corrupted in society, forget the last two years of AI destroying even those standards, cosmetic surgeries being taken to an extreme in some parts of the world, not to say every single thing is prohibited, but when somebody's drinking basically the world of fantasy, [SPEAKER_02]: The normal things no longer are sufficient for them.

[SPEAKER_02]: The person feels like they always need novelty. [SPEAKER_02]: They need something new. [SPEAKER_02]: They need something more entertaining. [SPEAKER_02]: They need filtered beauty. [SPEAKER_02]: Or they have sometimes emotional comparison. [SPEAKER_02]: They're comparing their spouses to people on the outside.

[SPEAKER_02]: So they're never content. [SPEAKER_02]: rather than realizing how much of a blessing they have, rather than addressing the problems through marital counseling, rather than addressing the problems through communication. [SPEAKER_02]: So Shaitan will cause people to think what? [SPEAKER_02]: There's someone better for me.

[SPEAKER_02]: Why am I here? [SPEAKER_02]: Why am I going through this? [SPEAKER_02]: There's something more exciting, more attractive, more understanding. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's one of the traps of Shaitan that the prophets follow law horizon and mournly Sahaba about. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's something that often times people don't realize they're falling into, until they get really deep into it.

[SPEAKER_02]: And it's very dangerous and problematic for countless reasons. [SPEAKER_02]: There are families that are completely destroyed because of that lust, because of the fantasy war. [SPEAKER_02]: And sometimes they make decisions based off of lust or desire not realizing how damaging it is to their families, relatives, communities.

[SPEAKER_02]: They've messed up their futures and the future of their children at times. [SPEAKER_02]: And many times people will fall into these sins and say, I wish I could go back. [SPEAKER_02]: I wish I didn't take those steps. [SPEAKER_02]: I wish I was a little wiser. [SPEAKER_02]: So in other words, the problem is not always that you're lacking a blessing.

[SPEAKER_02]: And for those who are not married, may Allah grant you righteous spouses. [SPEAKER_02]: For those who are married may Allah put but Allah get in your marriages and relationships. [SPEAKER_02]: Say, I'm here. [SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes the problem is that [SPEAKER_02]: temptation of different types has edited their version and vision of what is good and what is bad.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so the blessing that they have didn't really become smaller. [SPEAKER_02]: They're just realizing that their imagination is spoiled and tainted many different ways. [SPEAKER_02]: If you're always staring at what's outside of your lane, outside of your home, you don't have access to it, you might stop recognizing the blessing of a law upon you in your house.

[SPEAKER_02]: We ask a law of subhanotata to protect us from that. [SPEAKER_02]: We had a helical one time, a very open dialogue with university students, one of the MSAs. [SPEAKER_02]: And so somebody said, listen, I'm not really doing something major. [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, okay, I'm talking to this girl, but it's not really major.

[SPEAKER_02]: And what's interesting about this, maybe he thought it wasn't major. [SPEAKER_02]: When you talk at a deeper level and you ask like, how's the relationship going? [SPEAKER_02]: The actual marriage that he has, how's the relationship going? [SPEAKER_02]: Is it feeding your dissatisfaction, for example, you're constantly thinking, I'm just dissatisfied in this marriage?

[SPEAKER_02]: Because that thought becomes resentment and resentment destroys marriages, everyone knows. [SPEAKER_02]: It starts to build up. [SPEAKER_02]: You also ask that person, are you constantly thinking about something else? [SPEAKER_02]: Are you flirting with fantasy? [SPEAKER_02]: Because that's destructive, that's one of the acts of shape one.

[SPEAKER_02]: One of the biggest traps we might fall into advising each other, advising me, advising you, is act pure, like do what's right on the outside. [SPEAKER_02]: And we forget to remind ourselves, think pure as well. [SPEAKER_02]: Don't entertain about, don't entertain how I'm fantasy. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, terms of lifestyle and terms of your experience, whatever you're going through.

[SPEAKER_02]: So remember, if you're keeping your heart protected from images and movies and narratives and people around you that are causing obedience to field boring, you're going to lose yourself along the way. [SPEAKER_02]: Shape-on usually wins way before a Muslim falls into a major sin. [SPEAKER_02]: He's already won because he started working on something else.

[SPEAKER_02]: We ask a lot of protectors from that as well, a long man. [SPEAKER_02]: Number three, one of the traps of Shape-on will mention seven, is that he offers false promises and he renames reality. [SPEAKER_02]: Now this sounds like the last point, but we're not talking about rebranding a sin.

[SPEAKER_02]: Y'a'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y'y [SPEAKER_02]: or dilulu in the common lingle, unfortunately. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, some of you are like, what?

[SPEAKER_02]: Some of you are like, it's already outdated. [SPEAKER_02]: This idea actually is very devastating. [SPEAKER_02]: Why? [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of sin runs on imagination. [SPEAKER_02]: I've had people tell me before. [SPEAKER_02]: I thought if I did this, I would be happy. [SPEAKER_02]: And they went down like a really dark path.

[SPEAKER_02]: They came back and how they repented, but they felt, [SPEAKER_02]: so ashamed and so regretful, that I thought if I did this I would be happier, or if I got this person I'd be fulfilled, if I get this source of income even though it's hot on that I'm going to feel secure, if I break this ruler limit I'm going to feel more alive, if I imitate these people I think they'll accept me, I'll be long on campus or at a dorm.

[SPEAKER_02]: and the reality is a lot of these promises shaped on gives are not even false just in the akhirah their false here in the dunya too. [SPEAKER_02]: We see it all the time. [SPEAKER_02]: We see people going down crazy paths of destruction, self destruction. [SPEAKER_02]: Thinking along the way, this is good, this is happiness, this will lead me or something better.

[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people broke the command of Allah, they don't feel happy or more free. [SPEAKER_02]: They're not obeying Allah Subhanata, they don't actually have freedom, they have [SPEAKER_02]: They've so much money in this world, but they don't feel full-film. [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people chase social media attention, and they found anxiety.

[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people chase status, and they found emptiness. [SPEAKER_02]: So how many times somebody insists, I need this to be happy. [SPEAKER_02]: And then finally they discover that their soul still feels very hollow. [SPEAKER_02]: And one of the deepest parts of maturity is to stop believing every promise made by your nefs.

[SPEAKER_02]: Stop believing every promise your desires are making for you because the nephs is not a neutral advisor. [SPEAKER_02]: A nephs when you train it to do what's good will finally push for what's good. [SPEAKER_02]: You'll start to enjoy your Sala. [SPEAKER_02]: You'll start to enjoy acts of worship.

[SPEAKER_02]: You'll enjoy reminding your friends and not encouraging towards sin. [SPEAKER_02]: And you have as well the example. [SPEAKER_02]: Enough is found in a number of occasions, but you have the example of the devil literally swearing. [SPEAKER_02]: Wakawah Samahumah, in Nila Kuma, Laminah Nasa-hid.

[SPEAKER_02]: He promised that Fadal-Lahumah will rot and he tricked Adam and Hawah. [SPEAKER_02]: He basically deceived them, distorted reality for them. [SPEAKER_02]: So, oftentimes, the enough is a terrible strategist, if you will. [SPEAKER_02]: Think of the example of a child in your house. [SPEAKER_02]: maybe not a child, like even sometimes adults, like they want junk food for every meal.

[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I see someone you look at at each other. [SPEAKER_02]: They imagine a child wants junk food for every meal, but you're somebody who understands this is actually really bad for you. [SPEAKER_02]: If you're trying to work out, if you're trying to stay healthy, if you're trying to be fit, if you're trying to be strong, the adult knows, again, some adults know that desire is not wisdom.

[SPEAKER_02]: Desire cannot be morality, like I'm going to act upon what I desire. [SPEAKER_02]: Likewise, the Nef says, follow me. [SPEAKER_02]: I know what will make you feel good. [SPEAKER_02]: But the believer says, no, this thing can ruin my entire life. [SPEAKER_02]: There's another type of false promise, which is when a Muslims start to rationalize a small sin.

[SPEAKER_02]: So here's an example, a young 21-year-old. [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, you know what, it was just a little bit. [SPEAKER_02]: It was just a joke, just or only. [SPEAKER_02]: I was just venting. [SPEAKER_02]: It was only one message I sent. [SPEAKER_02]: It was only one compromise. [SPEAKER_02]: She said, it was only one misprayer.

[SPEAKER_02]: So it's only, it was just a little extravagance, it's a special occasion. [SPEAKER_02]: So the Shaypaam loves it when people justify a sin and they make it seem smaller. [SPEAKER_02]: Rather than thinking about the majesty of Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta'ada, then there's a reminder for our community and I mean this with all humility, it's not directed at anyone at all.

[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes we fall into this trap. [SPEAKER_02]: even if there's no phahesia, immorality, nothing had on in a gathering, sometimes we are falling into excess. [SPEAKER_02]: It's love. [SPEAKER_02]: It's one of the traps of shaykhlan Allah warns us about. [SPEAKER_02]: So, it's love is a big thing we make it smaller.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's love is to be excessive. [SPEAKER_02]: So, somebody, for example, is tested with a lot of wealth. [SPEAKER_02]: They can use it for many different things. [SPEAKER_02]: One of those things might be that they become excessive, like they're always in this consumerist culture or showing off or even going into debt at times, [SPEAKER_02]: So, for example, in many cultures, the wedding becomes a test of culture versus values.

[SPEAKER_02]: Culture versus values and the values usually are informed by our religion. [SPEAKER_02]: And so a person might actually, who was any blessed in some ways, starts to take decisions and choices that are not reasonable financially, or encouraging in their society and community to go into debt just to have a wedding, which is not an Islamic concept whatsoever.

[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes people do this to show off and they'll openly say like what is everyone going to say about us or this is how so-and-so did their wedding. [SPEAKER_02]: So a home that could have been peaceful ends up becoming a theater of comparing to others. [SPEAKER_02]: A celebration that could be honoring the loss of Panoata, as revelation and blessings becomes a competition to display who's going to basically one up the next person or the last person.

[SPEAKER_02]: A purchase that you had could be, you know, an act of worship, you a closer to a lot by buying something, and it's simple, but then it becomes all about an identity statement. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a status symbol, and in many parts of the world we all know this, and it's not uncommon here in the U.S. and this, and a county as well.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's not uncommon that a person starts to feel they're not complete without a status symbol, because companies are extremely intelligent with a marketing. [SPEAKER_02]: They know which target audience they're going for. [SPEAKER_02]: They know which kind of consumer they want. [SPEAKER_02]: It's that person when that level of income who might feel like I need this thing to be cool, to be a person of prestige.

[SPEAKER_02]: So they start to advertise different things to them. [SPEAKER_02]: And then we'll bet the eating a kind of a Hawaiian shayel thing. [SPEAKER_02]: And also Panata says the wasteful people are like brothers like siblings to the devil, meaning they're falling into that trap. [SPEAKER_02]: And he tells us, Kulu, what should I eat and drink from what Allah give you?

[SPEAKER_02]: Why not to three-fue, but do not be excessive? [SPEAKER_02]: Islam is balanced, Allah's not telling you, don't eat and drink, don't have nice things. [SPEAKER_02]: But Allah SWT is telling you, don't lose yourself and excess. [SPEAKER_02]: Don't find yourself in the position of ugliness.

[SPEAKER_02]: How embarrassed would it muslin be? [SPEAKER_02]: Scrolling through social media real if someone in August is starving, someone in any part of the world starving, pulling rice out of a pot that's empty, looking for drips of water off the truck that's passing by the five-year-old of Gaza.

[SPEAKER_02]: And this person at the same moment is extremely excessive wasting the blessings of a loss of panatana and the throne-goaway food. [SPEAKER_02]: That should cause us to feel, and I'm not encouraging this, but it should cause us to feel ashamed so that we take better action, so that we don't complain about our food.

[SPEAKER_02]: Even when you make will do to pray, the prophets and the law hice and taught us not to be excessive. [SPEAKER_02]: That's will do it's an act of worship. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a reminder not to open your fridge and complain about leftovers. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a reminder not to be a person who's complaining about first world problems.

[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people burn money to impress others. [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people burn through money, just to impress the world around them. [SPEAKER_02]: or they teach their children that Mama and Boba love you only if they buy you expensive things. [SPEAKER_02]: And they start to, in fact, perpetuate this idea in the culture of the family or the community.

[SPEAKER_02]: The love equals buying things. [SPEAKER_02]: And that itself is problematic buying expensive things becomes another level of a problem. [SPEAKER_02]: Being excessive is not also about spending a lot. [SPEAKER_02]: It's also about wanting too much from a dunya. [SPEAKER_02]: Wanting so much of this world that it never feels like a person is happy.

[SPEAKER_02]: They've never reached a place where you know, I'm satisfied with Hamdirila. [SPEAKER_02]: We don't need more. [SPEAKER_02]: We don't need the bigger house. [SPEAKER_02]: We don't need the more expensive this. [SPEAKER_02]: But we're actually very well off compared to 99% of the world. [SPEAKER_02]: We have so much to be thankful for.

[SPEAKER_02]: We ask a lot to protect us from this [SPEAKER_02]: Number four, one of the traps of shape on is a gradualism. [SPEAKER_02]: He works very, very slowly. [SPEAKER_02]: So I'll give you an example. [SPEAKER_02]: There's a Muslim raised by very, very practicing Muslim parents who love this family's home for university, is living in another state.

[SPEAKER_02]: And one day out of the blue, he's like, you know, messaging, messaging, messaging on Instagram. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't check my DMs. [SPEAKER_02]: I have somebody who monitors. [SPEAKER_02]: And then sends an email. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how he got my personal email. [SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, I urgently need to talk to him going through a really horrible situation.

[SPEAKER_02]: I want campus. [SPEAKER_02]: I just, I, my whole life, like I just like flashing before my eyes. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a very extreme example. [SPEAKER_02]: And I message him multiple times on other platforms. [SPEAKER_02]: So I asked one of my admins. [SPEAKER_02]: Did you see any weird messages from somebody with this name found his messages long story short?

[SPEAKER_02]: I connected with him long story short. [SPEAKER_02]: He he fell into Zina and he's like, I just wait like it's the end of my life. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what I was thinking. [SPEAKER_02]: It's nothing like I thought it's the worst thing in the world. [SPEAKER_02]: I wish I didn't do.

[SPEAKER_02]: I wish I could go back. [SPEAKER_02]: So Palma read his long message, I felt so much sympathy for this person, no justification for a major sin like that, but I felt so much sympathy because when I was reading his messages, he is describing this long message how he got into the sin, what happened.

[SPEAKER_02]: It didn't happen overnight. [SPEAKER_02]: He went from, like, any one of us, I hope, thinking, when the hell do we love God for a bit, I would never do something like that. [SPEAKER_02]: A lot warns severe punishment, words, Zina, so everything should be done through marriage, for example.

[SPEAKER_02]: And he says it's turn off with, like, a text, or action not a text, a DM. [SPEAKER_02]: There's a private message. [SPEAKER_02]: He sent to someone. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what it started with. [SPEAKER_02]: Private message by itself does not raise alarms for a Muslim to think be careful.

[SPEAKER_02]: Major sin. [SPEAKER_02]: You don't think it's a text message. [SPEAKER_02]: But the privacy itself that surrounds it is part of the problem. [SPEAKER_02]: Where do you think privacy? [SPEAKER_02]: How do you know where do you think it could lead to? [SPEAKER_02]: Does it mean every time there's a private message it's going to lead to something how [SPEAKER_02]: private message became a relationship, became a conversation, a friendship, became something more, became in person.

[SPEAKER_02]: Where do you think that started? [SPEAKER_02]: It's a gradual trap of Shaiwan and Allah warns us one of the ways Shaiwan works on people is through their weaknesses with very small steps. [SPEAKER_02]: You'll accept one step, but if Shaiwan comes to you with a big step, you're like, I don't want to do that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Small step. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you already know. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, let the tabiya khutawati shaypan in many different forms. [SPEAKER_02]: Why let the tabiya khutawati shaypan? [SPEAKER_02]: That means do not fall into the footsteps of shaypan. [SPEAKER_02]: Don't follow the slow gradual steps.

[SPEAKER_02]: The slow gradual steps don't usually look alarming to someone who's not aware of how shaypan operates. [SPEAKER_02]: But you have to be wise. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, we apply this in other spaces and domains. [SPEAKER_02]: I'll give you an example in social justice. [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of Muslims only in the last two years have found out.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like SJPs and MSAs and other Muslims on campus who are doing remarkable courageous work, Mashallah. [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of Muslims are aware about the previous strategies of normalization. [SPEAKER_02]: How Zionists normalize, designism. [SPEAKER_02]: by getting into Muslim communities.

[SPEAKER_02]: They did this by the way under the umbrella of interfaith many times. [SPEAKER_02]: And they admitted this after 2023 and many of their organizations fell apart. [SPEAKER_02]: They funded this in the millions of dollars. [SPEAKER_02]: They did this here in Michigan as well by the way. [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of cases and examples be on the scope of today.

[SPEAKER_02]: The small traps and strategies now most aware, like activists and Muslim students, they know what's going on. [SPEAKER_02]: You see a symptom, you're like, no, no, no, no, we're not accepting, you're not even one foot in the door. [SPEAKER_02]: What are you talking about? [SPEAKER_02]: You want us to side with somebody who's okay with the genocide or settler colonials?

[SPEAKER_02]: So they started to become aware of these strategies, and a Muslim has to be wise, because shape-on does not give up. [SPEAKER_02]: Until when, until you return back to a loss of habitat, and this means you might not struggle with the struggle of your friend sitting next to you. [SPEAKER_02]: You might not struggle with the struggle of your roommate or your sibling, which is why we also have to protect each other and help each other and advise each other.

[SPEAKER_02]: But you don't laugh about sin in that group amongst friends, you know, encouraging something had on. [SPEAKER_02]: Rather, you might have your own vulnerability. [SPEAKER_02]: Your friend has a very different weakness. [SPEAKER_02]: Be cautious and support each other and what is good. [SPEAKER_02]: One of Shae-Bahn's greatest victories is to take someone from that first step through multiple doors even if he has to wait a decade, even if he has to wait 20 years.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's willing to be patient if you're smart. [SPEAKER_02]: You have to be wiser than that. [SPEAKER_02]: And that's what a loss of Hannah Otada warns us about. [SPEAKER_02]: The shape on it, like the devil doesn't need people, for example, to jump off the spiritual building. [SPEAKER_02]: He's patient.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's very strategic. [SPEAKER_02]: He'll come to somebody and basically, he won't say destroy your dignity tonight. [SPEAKER_02]: They won't go to a woman, for example, who's struggling with a lack of attention and tell her to destroy your faith overnight, or modest overnight. [SPEAKER_02]: No, seek validation, or somebody sat her a message, or somebody said something to our in campus.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so it comes off as a conversation, shared humor, emotional compatibility, private disclosure, spiritual confusion, and then a boundary is crossed, becomes too personal. [SPEAKER_02]: And a person then says, I don't know how I fell into hot on relationship. [SPEAKER_02]: While law he blessed are the young men and women in this day and age in the age of technology and social media who accidentally fell into the first stages of a harem relationship and ended it quickly.

[SPEAKER_02]: While law hater is so blessed. [SPEAKER_02]: Those people, I consider amongst the strongest of believers, because the easier route is to say, I don't want to mess things up with other people. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to hurt somebody else. [SPEAKER_02]: That's from a male perspective, that's masculinity.

[SPEAKER_02]: From a woman's perspective, that's what it means to be feminine. [SPEAKER_02]: That you can say no to the Haram, even if you're, yes, you're offending somebody in a Haram relationship, they don't have a right upon you to stay in something prohibited. [SPEAKER_02]: and a lot of people fall into these relationships in Islamic schools.

[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people fall into these relationships through their own friends, from them with some community. [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not saying this to make anyone here feel bad but simply to say, if you're in a situation like that, while lahir there is wisdom, there is wisdom and courage for you to say the only way I'll ever have these conversations in a manner that's pleasing to Allah.

[SPEAKER_02]: There's no alternative. [SPEAKER_02]: not in this world, there's no alternative, meaning what I won't give shape on a chance to do that. [SPEAKER_02]: And the devil does not come to a practicing Muslim, for example, know a man and tell him like a band in your faith, begins with laziness, skipping one salah, missing a few prayers, spiritual dryness, private sin, embarrassment, and then he starts to feel like, you know, I can't even go to the Messiah, I'm not a good person.

[SPEAKER_02]: As though the message is like the place of perfect people, not the people who are healing and looking for nearness to Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta'ara, that person [SPEAKER_02]: They don't fall into sin overnight. [SPEAKER_02]: So again, nobody wakes up at Feijia of Time and says today I'm going to ruin my spiritual self.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's just that they refuse to close a few small doors that kept leading to other doors. [SPEAKER_02]: And every door leads to the next. [SPEAKER_02]: So pay attention to the things you no longer find problematic that you used to find alarming. [SPEAKER_02]: Pay attention to the shifts in your habit.

[SPEAKER_02]: If you used to think it's an issue and now you're defending it. [SPEAKER_02]: Pay attention to why. [SPEAKER_02]: a lot of people, for example, they're asking about major sins, but they don't ask what are all the steps that could lead to this major sin. [SPEAKER_02]: What are all the things that cause people to fall into a cabira that they regret sometimes for decades?

[SPEAKER_02]: That moment becomes like a dark moment. [SPEAKER_02]: Now, it's not to say they shouldn't keep trying and seeking a lost forgiveness, but simply to say they regretted it with so much regret, they felt all the things we shared. [SPEAKER_02]: This is a deception of shape on. [SPEAKER_02]: What was it, an hour of lust?

[SPEAKER_02]: What was it, a few years on earth? [SPEAKER_02]: And then you're meeting a loss of panoatata eternally, so pay attention to your environment. [SPEAKER_02]: Anybody here have the device, pay attention to your environment. [SPEAKER_02]: And the reason I'm asking about devices is most times today.

[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of the problematic things that happen. [SPEAKER_02]: They don't start in person. [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of them are starting online. [SPEAKER_02]: They're starting with thinking, exposure to certain things. [SPEAKER_02]: Pay attention to the patterns in your life that make are even more difficult for you.

[SPEAKER_02]: Pay attention to the time of day. [SPEAKER_02]: Some people are triggered when they're alone, certain times of the day, or when they're on campus. [SPEAKER_02]: Pay attention, what kind of friendship or company cause you to become a little more lax? [SPEAKER_02]: Like you're not a serious, whether you're breaking some boundaries of a loss of panotana.

[SPEAKER_02]: Pay attention to what you consume of movies, TV shows, and social media. [SPEAKER_02]: Is this something pleasing to a law or is it something destructive? [SPEAKER_02]: That is considered wisdom. [SPEAKER_02]: That's considered a barrier against Haran. [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people regret the final disaster, but very few people are studying the very first steps.

[SPEAKER_02]: Again, people regret the final disaster and they wish they could go back, but very few people will find the first few steps to be as alarming for them. [SPEAKER_02]: And a Muslim who strong basically says, I know my staircase. [SPEAKER_02]: I know, my staircase and not stepping, the first step onto them not taking, and even though I keep saying young and campus and college and all of that, obviously the advice is for everyone.

[SPEAKER_02]: The advice is for every Muslim, that's something that Sahaba practiced as well, and they taught us. [SPEAKER_02]: So, the small habits shape your identity, and if you repeat a compromise long enough, it starts to become something like a part of you, and that should be terrifying to us. [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, the practical solution number one is to go back to a loss of habitat.

[SPEAKER_02]: but alone wants you to turn back to him before your heart leaves and you return to him, and that could happen tonight, and tomorrow, and the week after, and any day of this year, and it could happen in 80 years. [SPEAKER_02]: Turn back to one loss of habitat as a daily lifestyle. [SPEAKER_02]: Number two, put a barrier between you and the haram.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so if your struggle is temptation, then guard your eyes. [SPEAKER_02]: Guard your eyes when you're on social media. [SPEAKER_02]: Guard your eyes when you're around other people. [SPEAKER_02]: When it comes to your schedule, make sure you're protecting your five prayers, there's nothing more precious than that.

[SPEAKER_02]: You're created to worship Allah on His terms, to experience the mercy of Allah on the beauty of Islam through your heart and through your bed. [SPEAKER_02]: So guard your Salah and schedule everything around it. [SPEAKER_02]: As busy as productive as blessed as you become in this world, those are tests from Allah, Subhanahu Wa'ala, that should not take us away from the prayer.

[SPEAKER_02]: If you have good friends, guard your friendship because you will be standing with your friends on the day of judgment. [SPEAKER_02]: If you don't want to stand next to someone because you're like this person is going to get punished in the next life, that's a bad choice of friendship when you have choices.

[SPEAKER_02]: So choose your friends carefully. [SPEAKER_02]: Then don't just ask a loss of kind of what I did to save you after you fall. [SPEAKER_02]: Ask him to protect you from falling in the first place. [SPEAKER_02]: We ask a lot of protect us along that mean. [SPEAKER_02]: Number five, amongst many traps of shape on, is that he inflates the ego.

[SPEAKER_02]: and causes people to think they are self-reliance, meaning I'm independent, I have what I need. [SPEAKER_02]: There are many examples of this in the Qur'an, the most famous example is amongst the wealthiest of people in history by the name of Kaurun. [SPEAKER_02]: Kaurun was so rich, forget musk, almost a trillion, which is very sick in this culture.

[SPEAKER_02]: Forget people who today are chasing after endless wealth or just showing off wealth, but they're actually not really wealthy people. [SPEAKER_02]: Think of Kaurun. [SPEAKER_02]: He's dazzling people, by the way. [SPEAKER_02]: They were jealous. [SPEAKER_02]: The Muslims there were said, we wish we had about Kaudu and had.

[SPEAKER_02]: What did Kaudu and have? [SPEAKER_02]: What were people showing off on social media of their times? [SPEAKER_02]: He had wealth, he had prestige, he had display, had spectacle, he had what a lot of people, again, today would really want people were staring. [SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of people wanted his life.

[SPEAKER_02]: The glamorous life. [SPEAKER_02]: They said, this guy is so fortunate. [SPEAKER_02]: This guy is so lucky. [SPEAKER_02]: What was he doing with it? [SPEAKER_02]: Disobeying a lot of panotata. [SPEAKER_02]: It took ten strong men to lift the golden keys of this palace. [SPEAKER_02]: Meaning he's very excessive.

[SPEAKER_02]: Very showy. [SPEAKER_02]: As you see some people today in the world, sometimes you, you, in fact, you'll see social media, whether it's Instagram or anything else. [SPEAKER_02]: It's almost like Kauruans parade, but it has like nicer modern filters and language. [SPEAKER_02]: So people see the cars.

[SPEAKER_02]: the vacations, the outfits, the study columns, the private jets, the smiling family photos, the speaking platform, the beautiful fee, the polished brand, and they think that success. [SPEAKER_02]: I think success when it comes to wealth is to use your wealth to stay humble. [SPEAKER_02]: Very, very humble, but to use your wealth to help other people.

[SPEAKER_02]: I met a billionaire, one of the few billionaires I ever met in this world's apartment. [SPEAKER_02]: He's oldest company for a billion dollars. [SPEAKER_02]: Muslim guys, very well-known in that circle of startup founders, and he supported the campaigns of multiple politicians in this country.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's a really good Muslim politician. [SPEAKER_02]: He supported independent media. [SPEAKER_02]: He supported student organizations who were struggling with a lot of things. [SPEAKER_02]: He supported and invested [SPEAKER_02]: He's trying to find ways to use his wealth wisely, and his actions, his very humble.

[SPEAKER_02]: His actions, even though most people who want to be around him, like if, you know, oftentimes notice his people want to be around him because of his wealth. [SPEAKER_02]: His actions resemble somebody of humility and reminded me of the hadith. [SPEAKER_02]: where the Prophet ﷺ said, I mentioned there are only two types of positive jellacies you can have.

[SPEAKER_02]: Positive jellacy in the sense that you wish you could do this too. [SPEAKER_02]: One is a person who memorized the Quran so they're always reciting and practicing it. [SPEAKER_02]: You're like, you know what? [SPEAKER_02]: I wish I could memorize the Quran and practice it. [SPEAKER_02]: That's not a bad thing.

[SPEAKER_02]: You're not wishing for them to lose it. [SPEAKER_02]: You're wishing you did. [SPEAKER_02]: What they did. [SPEAKER_02]: The second is somebody that Allah gives so much wealth to and they use it for pain. [SPEAKER_02]: They don't need it. [SPEAKER_02]: They invest it in the Ummah. [SPEAKER_02]: And you thought I wish I had wealth so I can help other people.

[SPEAKER_02]: Not I wish I had money so I can live a very fancy glamorous lifestyle. [SPEAKER_02]: There's a difference between the two. [SPEAKER_02]: Someone might make doha to become extremely wealthy, and their intention is like a worldly shahwa. [SPEAKER_02]: So Allah might not give it to them to protect them from becoming, you know, distant from him.

[SPEAKER_02]: And other people want to know where they are with Allah Subhanahu al-Tahana, just look at where you are with money today. [SPEAKER_02]: What does wealth mean to you today? [SPEAKER_02]: Rather than thinking about a future that is not guaranteed. [SPEAKER_02]: Anyways, anyways, Qadu, and what did he say?

[SPEAKER_02]: It all this money that Allah gave him, he had power. [SPEAKER_02]: And then he said, in Amat-O-T-T-O-A-L-A-L-M-N-D. [SPEAKER_02]: I earn this. [SPEAKER_02]: One of the worst ways you can say, I, one of the worst contexts possible. [SPEAKER_02]: Allah gave him all this wealth and power, and then he said, I did it.

[SPEAKER_02]: I earned it. [SPEAKER_02]: This is like somebody going to school and thinking, because I went to school, studied for my exams, studied like crazy, got a 4.0 or really good job, networked with somebody. [SPEAKER_02]: Got this thing, got that thing, I did this. [SPEAKER_02]: When I have to be loud and they leave out what had an info that I'll be, this is from the Bounties of my Lord.

[SPEAKER_02]: They leave out what thanking Allah for giving them life, intellect, opportunity, health. [SPEAKER_02]: You live in a society where we weren't raised, we're not right now. [SPEAKER_02]: In genocide, we're not in Sudan right now, where there's ethnic cleansing. [SPEAKER_02]: We didn't get like many of our relatives in Palestine and Syria and Yemen and East Turkistan and Somalia.

[SPEAKER_02]: We were among amongst those who stayed behind, who were thrown into prisons, who were killed by the Assad regime, who were killed in Yemen, innocent families at weddings and social youngings who were bombed and destroyed. [SPEAKER_02]: We weren't amongst those who were Bangladesh, with again decades of a satanic regime.

[SPEAKER_02]: love blessed us to be here and we are blessed to be in this country with all of its flaws that we hope to address and repair and improve, we are blessed to have opportunities. [SPEAKER_02]: We are blessed to have access to wealth. [SPEAKER_02]: We are blessed to have access to education, where somebody enters university and says there's so many options.

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what to study. [SPEAKER_02]: And in other countries, it's more like survival mode, and many of our parents, perhaps for them here, it was survival, which is why having a comfortable income is not just like a cultural thing, it's not about loving money. [SPEAKER_02]: It's coming from a place in which they have to survive.

[SPEAKER_02]: So we are blessed. [SPEAKER_02]: And it would be embarrassing on the day of judgment to run into those distant relatives and community members and other countries who didn't have that opportunity. [SPEAKER_02]: And they still did good with the little that they had and we wasted it. [SPEAKER_02]: We killed our time.

[SPEAKER_02]: We killed that wealth we used it for evil when I had to be there. [SPEAKER_02]: So again, look at the disease here of Caudouan. [SPEAKER_02]: There's no humility, no gratitude. [SPEAKER_02]: There's no sense that this was a trust from Allah, Subhanahu Ata'ara, that Allah put you in a place where you could attain wealth.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you'll have to do your part, but Allah still blessed you to attain it, and he could take it away anytime. [SPEAKER_02]: Caudouan lost everything. [SPEAKER_02]: The earth literally swallowed him up. [SPEAKER_02]: And the people who saw this, like that billionaire or trilliner, they just saw get killed and punished for his evil, for all the people that he heard as well, for his arrogance, [SPEAKER_02]: They regretted wishing to be like him.

[SPEAKER_02]: Now they're like, how did we think that was success? [SPEAKER_02]: Because of the money, because of the glamour. [SPEAKER_02]: And the disease does not just live amongst people of a lot of wealth. [SPEAKER_02]: It can live in any ordinary Muslim too. [SPEAKER_02]: Again, a Muslim gets a degree or gets into an Ivy League school or gets married or whatever status.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then they start to think it's all about me. [SPEAKER_02]: a love gave you this opportunity, a love blessed you with that path, a love blessed you with that admission, a love blessed your business to take off and other people who were harder than you, there's didn't take off. [SPEAKER_02]: So thank a loss of Hanoatada.

[SPEAKER_02]: Some people raise good children and some of they think, you know, parenting is the easiest thing in the world and every parent knows, it's not an easy thing. [SPEAKER_02]: A person gains an end and they can start to become arrogant by looking down on people who know less than them. [SPEAKER_02]: Even an end can be a fitna.

[SPEAKER_02]: A person becomes disciplined, they become healthy, they go to the gym, they don't eat junk food, and then they start making fun of people who don't know how to work out at least people. [SPEAKER_02]: They're so weak, they're so lazy, so they start criticizing everyone. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a lot of people have not had a blast you with access to this and that, and you have the tofu to work out and yes, people need self-discipline, but don't look down on other people.

[SPEAKER_02]: Don't have arrogance. [SPEAKER_02]: Don't think this is all about you, and the last one here is when a Muslim becomes [SPEAKER_02]: They're doing everything right, staying away from major sins, but they start to look down on other Muslims. [SPEAKER_02]: And that's one of the most dangerous things in the entire world, self-admiration with religiosity, looking down on other people.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's one of Shepan's traps, because that Muslim, the Shepan couldn't trap them with a sin. [SPEAKER_02]: couldn't chop them with shibuat, but he got through that door of arrogance. [SPEAKER_02]: He got through that door of kibuat and the Prophet ﷺ told us about ego and arrogance, it has to be purified before you enter general.

[SPEAKER_02]: Do you know what arrogance does to someone who practices Islam in every other domain? [SPEAKER_02]: It can cause them to be blind in some of the things that they're doing. [SPEAKER_02]: arrogance blinds people. [SPEAKER_02]: So what's the cure? [SPEAKER_02]: What do you think a cure is for someone who's [SPEAKER_02]: anyone.

[SPEAKER_02]: The ticket is amazing. [SPEAKER_02]: Excellent. [SPEAKER_02]: What else? [SPEAKER_02]: Do I? [SPEAKER_02]: Excellent. [SPEAKER_02]: What else? [SPEAKER_02]: Charity, excellent. [SPEAKER_02]: Anything else? [SPEAKER_01]: Reminding one so of the reality that everything is going on law and nothing, what he actually or accomplishes from himself.

[SPEAKER_02]: Excellent. [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: Reminding your friend and yourself and whoever it may be, everything good you have. [SPEAKER_02]: It's from Allah. [SPEAKER_02]: Everything you have of this world is from a loss of Hanoatata, Arvazal, he sustains. [SPEAKER_02]: Some people have their health, everything's great, they're so arrogant area, a lot gives them time, and then they lose it overnight.

[SPEAKER_02]: Some people a lot of wealth, they go through the craziest twist of affairs, they lose all of the overnight. [SPEAKER_02]: Some people have marriages and lose it overnight. [SPEAKER_02]: So thank Allah Subhanoatata for what you have, and also think about those who have less than you. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank Allah Subhanoatata for your blessings, may Allah Subhanoat keep our hearts pure, as well [SPEAKER_02]: Number six, again, we said we had to cover seven before Salot of Asha.

[SPEAKER_02]: Number six, one of the trumps of shape on is to push. [SPEAKER_02]: I'll give you a recap of all of these for those who are like, I forgot all of the five. [SPEAKER_02]: Shape on pushes people towards a consumerist lifestyle. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to summarize this one because I already gave something examples.

[SPEAKER_02]: So for example, [SPEAKER_02]: One of the ways people measure themselves on social media today, generally is it's not by worship, it's not by character, it's not by, it's usually by consumption. [SPEAKER_02]: So for example, what do you own? [SPEAKER_02]: What do you own when you see these people showing off like private jets and they're connected to like some celebrity?

[SPEAKER_02]: What do you own? [SPEAKER_02]: What can you display? [SPEAKER_02]: Also, some people start to think about their homes as they compare, in a very subconscious way she may think or he may think what can I upgrade in my house? [SPEAKER_02]: It's not enough anymore because I just saw this person who has something nicer.

[SPEAKER_02]: So what can I upgrade? [SPEAKER_02]: They start complaining to their spouse. [SPEAKER_02]: They start complaining in the home. [SPEAKER_02]: We don't have enough. [SPEAKER_02]: Why are we not doing this? [SPEAKER_02]: This person has a genna on earth. [SPEAKER_02]: or some people start to think, what should I, what can I post on social media so I get more attention or following or whatever else it may be?

[SPEAKER_02]: And when this becomes normal, a Muslim could start living the same exact life like every non-Muslim on earth except that you're sprinkling like Islamic language on top of it. [SPEAKER_02]: It's the same lifestyle. [SPEAKER_02]: You're just praying, but perhaps you're attending events, perhaps the inner operating system itself is of a dunya in many ways.

[SPEAKER_02]: Some marriages that are supposed to be simple, become very complicated. [SPEAKER_02]: A simple home becomes almost impossible. [SPEAKER_02]: A simple, any celebration becomes very difficult. [SPEAKER_02]: Simple clothing becomes a complex thing. [SPEAKER_02]: Simple hospitality at the house becomes a very large mission.

[SPEAKER_02]: So everything has to become a production, aesthetics, documented, shown off, a big deal. [SPEAKER_02]: And so a meal cannot just be consumed by some people, always has to be documented. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if people still take pictures of every meal, it's like I think that's kind of outdated now, but that's still a thing for some people.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so, somebody can't just drink coffee, for example, you have to get the perfect angle and show off the millionth Yemeni coffee to the world. [SPEAKER_02]: We get it. [SPEAKER_02]: We have a lot of Yemeni cafes of Hamdala. [SPEAKER_02]: Family can't just enjoy a read, for example. [SPEAKER_02]: It has to be like a big production.

[SPEAKER_02]: It has to be like a very difficult thing. [SPEAKER_02]: Some people, it's a funny thing, but also not so funny. [SPEAKER_02]: Some people share one of their commonalities, when you have like large families, on the morning of the read, it is like stressful. [SPEAKER_02]: like it's a very stressful morning.

[SPEAKER_02]: It shouldn't be a stressful thing. [SPEAKER_02]: So a lot of the reading in fact is one of the simplest things. [SPEAKER_02]: It should be like going to Duma prayer. [SPEAKER_02]: It should be like going to an eat prayer. [SPEAKER_02]: But it becomes a bigger production because it's no longer about the prayer.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's about the social aspect. [SPEAKER_02]: It's about the clothes. [SPEAKER_02]: It has to be like new clothes every [SPEAKER_02]: And the irony, of course, is that what do these examples produce? [SPEAKER_02]: It's not joy. [SPEAKER_02]: It's usually stress. [SPEAKER_02]: Even when people have social media following it looks like it's the most beautiful aesthetics, a lot of times behind the scenes.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's stressful. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a lot of work. [SPEAKER_02]: It's just hard work. [SPEAKER_02]: It's inclining and hustling and trying to show off. [SPEAKER_02]: So people usually feel, or parents sometimes feel crushed. [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of young people delay their marriages. [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of families overspend.

[SPEAKER_02]: People host others for display and not for love. [SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes children grow up with that entitlement, thinking that a normal life always has to be expensive. [SPEAKER_02]: And community life must be so exhaustive. [SPEAKER_02]: And at the same time, the sun is inviting us back to balance.

[SPEAKER_02]: There's beauty in Islam, but not vanity. [SPEAKER_02]: You can enjoy, yes, read, and the clothes, and the gifts, and all of that, but not with heedlessness. [SPEAKER_02]: Now with that level of stress that's unnecessary, there's celebration but not waste. [SPEAKER_02]: There's generosity, but not performative showing off if you will.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so one of Shafan's biggest tricks is to make people spend their money in a way that makes their hearts feel smaller. [SPEAKER_02]: So some example questions we can ask ourselves before you buy something. [SPEAKER_02]: Does this purchase help me obey a loss of talent at that? [SPEAKER_02]: I seem like a weird question.

[SPEAKER_02]: But sometimes people are buying things to show off. [SPEAKER_02]: So in a way, it's disobedience to Emma. [SPEAKER_02]: Does this event bring Sikina to my life or only stress and pleasure showing off? [SPEAKER_02]: Am I choosing this thing because it's beneficial or because I fear people's opinions?

[SPEAKER_02]: Or I care so much about what people think of me? [SPEAKER_02]: And those are things we should teach our children at a young age. [SPEAKER_02]: Who cares? [SPEAKER_02]: But your classmates thoughts on the brand name of your shoes or your clothes? [SPEAKER_02]: And then also, am I feeding my family or am I feeding my image?

[SPEAKER_02]: What is this for? [SPEAKER_02]: Finally, number seven, one of the greatest and most common traps of shape on today, with all the connections we have, millions of connections we could have, is to isolate a Muslim, make them feel alone. [SPEAKER_02]: And so somebody is surrounded with social media and friends and family in their house and it's a large house, much a lot of people, but they feel more isolated than ever before.

[SPEAKER_02]: The prophet warned us about isolation, son-al-law, how are they incident? [SPEAKER_02]: He said, I like Kumbil Jama'a, stay connected to your community, stay connected to your community for the devil is stronger, is stronger against two than he is against three and the devil is stronger against one than he is against two.

[SPEAKER_02]: to not isolate yourself. [SPEAKER_02]: The shape on gets the struggling Muslim to disappear. [SPEAKER_02]: He gets the ashamed Muslim woman to withdraw. [SPEAKER_02]: They get the Muslim who's hurt by their community or a friend to detach the overthinking Muslim starts to stay alone with their thoughts.

[SPEAKER_02]: The young person stops coming to the messenger of the events. [SPEAKER_02]: And once a person is isolated, the whispers seem to become stronger. [SPEAKER_02]: Why? [SPEAKER_02]: Because the human being is not meant to spiritually stay strong and healthy without support, without their friends, without community.

[SPEAKER_02]: We need good company. [SPEAKER_02]: We need reminders. [SPEAKER_02]: We need prayer spaces, which is why when someone's on campus, it is so important that they stay connected to their MSAs. [SPEAKER_02]: That there's a prayer place, there's a place that's well to roast spiritually. [SPEAKER_02]: So the point for us is to remember to be those friends to others, come back, don't disappear.

[SPEAKER_02]: Send a friend, the text, for example, someone you haven't seen in a while, like a long time, and you know they're around. [SPEAKER_02]: Send them a message, they said, I'm just checking on you. [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm bro, I have your hurt for me to wild. [SPEAKER_02]: Don't ask for anything of this world.

[SPEAKER_02]: Don't wait until you need something from them. [SPEAKER_02]: Just check on them because you care. [SPEAKER_02]: And obviously, let us be honest with ourselves, sometimes people do feel judged in these gatherings. [SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes people come to the massage at thinking, like, you know, I'm an outsider.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not a good Muslim. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just hoping to hear something or pray and maybe feel better. [SPEAKER_02]: And then someone gives them an ugly look because he's not wearing the right clothes. [SPEAKER_02]: He's not wearing the right clothes. [SPEAKER_02]: He's not looking the right [SPEAKER_02]: A young student comes into the Meshid one time, this was in Michigan a decade ago.

[SPEAKER_02]: He comes into the Meshid, not here, and he's wearing basketball shorts. [SPEAKER_02]: He has played basketball. [SPEAKER_02]: He has no idea. [SPEAKER_02]: This was his first time in the Meshid, by the way. [SPEAKER_02]: He was playing basketball with his friends in one of the Meshadj. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's time for prayer to come praise like, you know, it's all right.

[SPEAKER_02]: They're like, come on, bro, just pray with us. [SPEAKER_02]: So he's supposed to pray. [SPEAKER_02]: He was distant from a loss of Hannah to, and he's like, okay, fine. [SPEAKER_02]: He imagined his first prayer in a long time. [SPEAKER_02]: He goes inside the masala and somebody starts yelling at him like, well don't you know any better not to be wearing this in the message?

[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you know your salas invalidated? [SPEAKER_02]: By the way, the man who corrected and could have been correct, it's not about truth. [SPEAKER_02]: It's also about the delivery method. [SPEAKER_02]: A woman enters the message, this was also in Michigan, maybe 15 years ago. [SPEAKER_02]: She's barely like she's barely dressed, like in a very inappropriate way for a message.

[SPEAKER_02]: She has no idea anything about Islam. [SPEAKER_02]: She's literally going to ask questions about Islam. [SPEAKER_02]: And the first person that runs into her gives her an ugly look is as you don't belong in this place. [SPEAKER_02]: Can you imagine someone coming to a loss of Hanutada and you being the reason they're pushed away?

[SPEAKER_02]: It's a very scary thought. [SPEAKER_02]: And it doesn't have to be these obvious drastic cases. [SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes people feel it from your looks. [SPEAKER_02]: They feel it from the harshness that they hear. [SPEAKER_02]: They feel it because there are clicks. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's a common complaint of sisters and brothers.

[SPEAKER_02]: You know what? [SPEAKER_02]: I don't feel like I'd be long. [SPEAKER_02]: Tribalism, ethnicity, but it's like not my place. [SPEAKER_02]: Or it's insensitive, the thing that was said to them. [SPEAKER_02]: Or every year, condescending, the way that it was said, racism happens. [SPEAKER_02]: So we have to be honest about these things so that we're part, every one of us is part of the culture of every message that we walk into every day.

[SPEAKER_02]: So the way we develop sub-cultures, this is considered sub-culture right now, the people in the Somosala right now are developing the culture today. [SPEAKER_02]: So if there's someone you've never seen here before and you're a regular, maybe right after this moment or right after we pray, say, send them to them, say, are you from here?

[SPEAKER_02]: This is your first time here. [SPEAKER_02]: There are brothers and sisters who have shown up to the message for the first time, and felt the beauty of Islam because if somebody else said to them, said, I want to go. [SPEAKER_02]: They said, well, I fell at home and I'm like, I got to come back to this place.

[SPEAKER_02]: Can you imagine the reward you have on the day of judgment for being a conduit to what is good? [SPEAKER_02]: So again, the believer cannot become isolated nor a reason for others to become isolated, because the wolf eventually prays on the isolated sheep. [SPEAKER_02]: Lastly, even though this is a bonus, I said seven.

[SPEAKER_02]: One of the traps of Shafon is to make people lose hope in Allah. [SPEAKER_02]: They think, you know what? [SPEAKER_02]: All this talk about Shafon, I'm a guilty Muslim, I'm not perfect. [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe everybody around you think is better than you. [SPEAKER_02]: So you start to feel so bad about yourself.

[SPEAKER_02]: You might fall into the trap of Shafon of thinking. [SPEAKER_02]: There's no hope for me. [SPEAKER_02]: And Allah's a panat, Allah literally explicitly says, Do not lose hope in the mercy of Allah. [SPEAKER_02]: That's not what we're going to say. [SPEAKER_02]: Meaning you cannot reasonably claim you've lost hope.

[SPEAKER_02]: In the mercy of Allah, when all you have to do is turn back to Allah. [SPEAKER_02]: That's all you have to do. [SPEAKER_02]: But it's not like a one-time thing. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a lifestyle. [SPEAKER_02]: It's not a finish line. [SPEAKER_02]: You know when the finish line is, you have to have another finish line is when you return to Allah.

[SPEAKER_02]: You don't give up. [SPEAKER_02]: You fell down a thousand times, every time you fell you stood back up. [SPEAKER_02]: So, Shaykhun has a two-step plan when it comes to sin, two steps. [SPEAKER_02]: Number one, he invites people to sin, number two, after they fall into the sin, Shaykhun invited them to, he says, you are the worst of people in this world.

[SPEAKER_02]: You're such a horrible Muslim. [SPEAKER_02]: How can you do something like this? [SPEAKER_02]: Allah will never forgive you. [SPEAKER_02]: So that person was seduced by Shaykhun and then he felt ashamed. [SPEAKER_02]: So Shaykhun opens the door to Masih, a disobedience and then tries to close your door to Talba.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's how he works. [SPEAKER_02]: Look how deceptive he is. [SPEAKER_02]: May Allah protect us from that. [SPEAKER_02]: That's when a lot of Muslims collapse emotionally. [SPEAKER_02]: Because they're not just battling a sin, they're battling the belief that now I'm disqualified from Allah's mercy, but Allah tells you don't lose hope.

[SPEAKER_02]: Allah wants you to go back to him every single day. [SPEAKER_02]: How do we keep protecting ourselves against these traps of Shrapnel and Mord? [SPEAKER_02]: Number one, increase your e-man through worship that's done since yearly, especially in private. [SPEAKER_02]: I remind myself. [SPEAKER_02]: And my brothers and my sisters here protect your e-man especially when nobody's watching.

[SPEAKER_02]: Protect yourself and your eyes and your ears and your actions when no one's watching on social media on your device and in person. [SPEAKER_02]: May Allah protect us long grant us sincerity. [SPEAKER_02]: Some of the strongest protection from Allah comes from the private moments by the way.

[SPEAKER_02]: You know, some people rush to be alone so they can commit sins. [SPEAKER_02]: Other people rush to be alone so they can make dua and private so nobody else sees them. [SPEAKER_02]: Meaning, private for the sake of Allah. [SPEAKER_02]: Number two, stay anchored. [SPEAKER_02]: to and wave them through the Qur'an.

[SPEAKER_02]: Vick it and do ask Allah for help every day. [SPEAKER_02]: Ask Allah for forgiveness every day. [SPEAKER_02]: Remember, the prophet explicitly told us Allah Almighty, so then Vick it and do ask is a fortress. [SPEAKER_02]: There's actually a wall, an actual spiritual fortress in the world of the unseen around you right now through your Vick it and do ask.

[SPEAKER_02]: And you should feel confident. [SPEAKER_02]: that when you say every day and every evening and morning, Bismillahi l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l-a l- [SPEAKER_02]: Number three, pursue beneficial knowledge, not random 30-second reels.

[SPEAKER_02]: Deep knowledge that will protect you, clarify the truth, soften your heart, and allow you to constantly see these drops of shape on. [SPEAKER_02]: Number four, be consistent in your good deeds, your A-bed. [SPEAKER_02]: Consistency is beloved to Allah Subhanahu Tala, shape on once a dramatic collapse, but Allah wants to be consistent in building yourself.

[SPEAKER_02]: Number five, identify your own weaknesses. [SPEAKER_02]: What are your weaknesses? [SPEAKER_02]: You know what people do cybersecurity or risk assessments for companies and nonprofits? [SPEAKER_02]: You want to make sure there are no vulnerabilities. [SPEAKER_02]: You want to make sure you're protected.

[SPEAKER_02]: Some people understand this in the lingo of like your own computer and device that's protected. [SPEAKER_02]: That you have anti-virus or something. [SPEAKER_02]: So you understand the concept. [SPEAKER_02]: People put cameras outside of their homes and they have alarm systems. [SPEAKER_02]: People lock their cars.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so we take different types of measures. [SPEAKER_02]: Every person has a pattern. [SPEAKER_02]: For some people, forgive me, it's lust. [SPEAKER_02]: For some people, it's envy. [SPEAKER_02]: For some people, it's anger. [SPEAKER_02]: For some people, it's arrogance. [SPEAKER_02]: For some people, it's despair.

[SPEAKER_02]: Recognize what your weaknesses are, those doors. [SPEAKER_02]: So you can close them and show a lot at it. [SPEAKER_02]: Number six, keep righteous company. [SPEAKER_02]: And that means if you have friends, don't encourage them towards evil. [SPEAKER_02]: While you're the worst of friends, are the ones you're going to stand next to, and in front of on the day of judgment, and say, like, why didn't you advise me?

[SPEAKER_02]: You laughed when I committed that sin you laughed about my heart on relationship. [SPEAKER_02]: Why didn't you warn me? [SPEAKER_02]: Like, why didn't you say it's not cool? [SPEAKER_02]: That's not okay or that's not something to laugh at, stay close to people who increase your remembrance of Allah.

[SPEAKER_02]: It makes a difference. [SPEAKER_02]: And finally, number 7, when you fall, we all fall in different ways, return quickly to Allah. [SPEAKER_02]: Don't ever let us sin, settle and become a habit, ask Allah SubhanAllah to add it for health consistently, Allah Almighty in Al-Haqqa haqqan. [SPEAKER_02]: What is Al-Zokhnatiba?

[SPEAKER_02]: We are adding and about it about Plenan, what a Zoknachhtinabha, O Lashos, but truth is truth and grant us the ability to follow it. [SPEAKER_02]: And shows falsehood is falsehood and grant us the ability to avoid it. [SPEAKER_02]: We ask a loss of panoatana to protect us and protect our hearts and our homes and our families and our relationships from the traps and disruptions of Shafan.

[SPEAKER_02]: We ask a lot to protect our homes from the corruption of Shafan to protect our children, our youth and our loved ones from the whispers of Shafan. [SPEAKER_02]: our communities against divisions and our souls from dying distantly from Allah Subhanahu al-Tadah and we ask Allah to allow us to meet him in the best of states and to accept our repentance on this night and every night thereafter.
