Anna Bright: What's up everybody? It's Anna Bright and Kate Fehey. welcome to Let Her Cook, episode one. we're so excited.
Kate: I guess the first one was like our trial. So this is episode one.
Anna Bright: Yeah, the first one was our trial. No if it we kind of knew what we were gonna name it if it ended up happening, but everyone loved us. We just had to kind of make you guys wait. But now we're back. And
Kate: True. Disance makes a heart grow fonder.
Anna Bright: and we have mics now, so we're professional.
Kate: They're really professional and they're really heavy.
Anna Bright: Yeah, they kind of are. And I didn't really realize that we needed mic stands. So if anyone wants to recommend a good mic stand, feel free to do that in the comments else we're just kinda kinda ripping it. Yeah, and Kate's Kate's
Kate: We're just raw dogging it. But it it's a pretty heavy thing, yeah.
Anna Bright: just doing some casual ASMR for us.
Kate: Can you hear this?
Anna Bright: that that sounds nice.
Kate: That's fun. That's
Anna Bright: It sounds nice. Kate, thank you so much for getting like dressed up and so beautiful for our for our first episode.
Kate: Thank you. I'm you know what? Blue is a good color on me, but I did go with more of like a casual lounge look. I
Anna Bright: So nerdy.
Kate: my my sleep schedule is really messed up, as yours probably is too. No, yours is not. You text me like six o'clock every morning, I'm like
Anna Bright: But I'm going to bed late is the problem. Like I'm still going to bed late. I just I wake up early no matter what.
Kate: So you just are not getting sleep.
Anna Bright: I was not that much. I was actually exhausted yesterday. Something was actually wrong, like physically wrong with me in the final. Like my anxiety,
Kate: Really?
Anna Bright: I had so much anxiety. It indoor venues, my anxiety is always worse. Is it is it similar for you?
Kate: Yeah, I also feel like just like getting around it's like everything is just like all compressed.
Anna Bright: Yeah, you just kind of feel like you're in a box a little bit. So my baseline anxiety is already higher. And then I think just all the sleep debt was like catching up and I was nervous about the match. And I'm not joking. My heart rate was like, I can do it on the mind. Like my heart rate was
Kate: I hate that.
Anna Bright: so high. I've never felt like that before or in a long time. And you say that you see stars sometimes when you scream. Yesterday was
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: my first time ever seeing stars.
Kate: When you screamed or just in general?
Anna Bright: It was like midway through game two, we're winning. Like I've s I've relearned how to hit a ball.
Kate: Mm-hmm.
Anna Bright: I literally said to Annalie at one point in game two, I think I missed. And I just said, stay with me. Stay with me.
Kate: Trust the process, girl. Trust it.
Anna Bright: I was like, trust the process, I'm gonna figure this out. Something is physiologically wrong with me, but I'm gonna figure it out. So I started figuring it out. And we're up like six three in game two and I don't even scream that loud by my standards. And it was just like flex in my field of vision. It's the weirdest thing.
Kate: How weird is that? And then it's like, and then you get a lineup for the next point and you're like still seeing stars and you're like, God.
Anna Bright: Yeah.
Kate: I usually like miss the serve because I'm like
Anna Bright: my gosh,
Kate: still seeing stars.
Anna Bright: it hasn't we did lose the point, but I'm just like, there are specs in my field of vision, and this has never happened before. And I was like, this is what Kate's talking about when she says she sees stars. And
Kate: It's crazy. I have to take like thirty seconds.
Anna Bright: my God, I was like trying to stall, but we had just won a point in Annalise, like she wants, girl wants to play, like girls
Kate: Stop at least I got the line.
Anna Bright: like ready to go. And I'm like, I'm seeing like. Jupiter and Venus and Saturn
Kate: You're like, give me a second.
Anna Bright: and like things are spinning and and and girly served the ball. Girly served the ball. The return didn't
Kate: Right.
Anna Bright: go to me. I do think we lost the point and then I got my vision back and I think we had the ball on the two, but
Kate: Ye I gotta like I gotta like tie my shoe. We have to have something when that happens again. Like tie shoe, do the hair again, something because I like can't it happened to me in singles this
Anna Bright: Yeah, something. Something.
Kate: week and I was like fudge fudge, but then I got back. It was fine. But I had to take like 30
Anna Bright: Who who are you playing?
Kate: seconds to Catherine. We always have freaking battles. but I was I let one rip and I was like, no. It was like late in the third two, and I was like I was like, this is an important point. I'm like, please stop seeing stars. I'm like looking around. I'm like Ryan's probably like, what the f it's not good. I'm like, yeah. It was probably that
Anna Bright: The fact that you regularly see stars is crazy. I cramp.
Kate: memes of pickleball when it's like, who's playing on Grandstand? never mind. It's me.
Anna Bright: It's Kate. That that was that was funny, but I'm so like defensive of you that I saw that and I was like, really? Really? Like, you have to do that. Okay, you know what else I find really funny? We'll have to edit this and put like people's profile fixtures. But my profile photo on match day, cute. I'm like smiling.
Kate: my god.
Anna Bright: I'm like smiling up. I look cute. Annalise, like sick, like her Nike roster photo. Most people have like a cool photo. Shorts is so
Kate: I literally have like it's like it's like twenty twenty four like APP and I'm like I'm like real everyone already knows that I'm like that. Like maybe like do like a cutesy one where I can be like demure like cutesy and demure. No. It's horrible. I need to text Chris Cantino.
Anna Bright: No, everyone knows you're like a scream queen. Yeah, like why did Chris Cantino choose that photo of you? You look like such a gremlin.
Kate: Why? Maybe it was after one of our matches against the Mad Drops, and they were just like, he's like, screw this girl.
Anna Bright: Maybe it was. Maybe it actually was. The only other the only other person I've seen with like a bad
Kate: Mm.
Anna Bright: like photo is Christian. Christian is also like a screaming line.
Kate: Me and Christian, thank you.
Anna Bright: People on Facebook do say that you two should play together and that you guys would be like insufferable together.
Kate: That would be a nightmare for people for sure, I think. Maybe we would like balance each other. No, I don't think so. I think it would just be like coming at you from both sides.
Anna Bright: Yeah, I I kind of don't know how loud you can be with Christian because I feel like he does so much and takes like the whole court.
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: I don't know that I could be like, my god, I made two resets.
Kate: It's true.
Anna Bright: Like But I'm playing with him in Daytona,
Kate: No, but I've gotten some like
Anna Bright: so we'll see.
Kate: sometimes like when I hit a when my partner hits a good shot and I yell, people get really mad. Like people are like, Great shot, Kate. I'm like, I'm hyping at my partner. They don't like that. Like,
Anna Bright: Period No period.
Kate: my partner did something good. I'm gonna celebrate it. No, but I mean Fed gets Fed gets loud too. But then I feel
Anna Bright: Exactly, one hundred percent. People just get mad at anything. He does.
Kate: like like I feel like we're good. Like when I get loud, he's like supporting me and then he gets loud and then I'm like it's not like Both to g I don't know, you know what I mean?
Anna Bright: I totally agree. I think you guys are, I think you guys are really like cute.
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: I think you guys are a really cute team. And I think you guys are cute.
Kate: Q.
Anna Bright: Like, no, you guys are. You guys like get loud together. And I just feel like Fed is really funny sometimes. You're really funny sometimes. Like our
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: match in Vegas, I was, there were times when I would scream really loud, and then we would, like, you guys would win the point. And it was kind of like a retaliation scream. And it would just make me laugh a little bit. I was like, touche.
Kate: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I saw you laughing at one at one point. I was like, don't laugh at me. I hit a good shot.
Anna Bright: we have to talk about how I almost played a point with your paddle.
Kate: yeah. Dude, the same thing happened when we played Catherine and Tyra. They actually went down a point. I didn't realize that you got Yeah. Which was so weird. I was like, it all happened so fast and I was like, I don't know what's happening. Like she didn't have, you know that like new white sticker? She
Anna Bright: The new white sticker, yeah.
Kate: didn't have that. I she just forgot to test her paddles. And then they were like, Do you have a paddle that's been tested? I d it was weird. I was just like, and then and then they went down a point, like immediately. That
Anna Bright: Wow.
Kate: ref is kind of like very strict too.
Anna Bright: I don't know, but what what happened in Vegas? I've gotten some DMs about this. I'm glad the stream caught it. Is I dropped off my paddles the previous night. Like I was telling the rest, like I'm not irresponsible, but I dropped them off at like 9 p.m. Cause we're finishing so late. I hand them to paddle testing. And then I was back the next morning to drill at like 11:30. And my paddles were on the table with a sticker that said bright on them. So I assumed that they had been tested. So I just grabbed the paddles. But come match time, they had not been tested yet. So they were like, you have to check in a paddle and you have to play and you have to like, you have to check in a paddle. So I was like, Hayden, get me a paddle. And then they were like, you're gonna have to play one point with it. And then I was like, I can't play a never playing with that, never doing
Kate: Never playing with that. Never playing with that.
Anna Bright: that. So it was so funny because I also felt like Kate might have been kind of mad at me because A, it's c we're about to play each other, but then I posted like a story where I was like, I'm gonna kill Kate and you hadn't you didn't repost it.
Kate: I literally just lost a brutal singles match and you were like bad to kill her. I was like, I'm so happy right now.
Anna Bright: to kill that bitch. So I was like, I was like, that might have been too much of me. I actually did delete it because I I was like that was too much. That was too much. I was like too much, too much, too much. So
Kate: No
Anna Bright: then I was like Kate Fed like paddle, please, please give me a paddle.
Kate: Please, please, please. That was so funny. Wait, I have to get my dryer today.
Anna Bright: Yeah, this is this is real life. This is our show, guys. But I was fully ready to play a point with Kate's paddle and it felt good. I was gonna try to only use the Kate Fehey side of the paddle because the other side is
Kate: Thank you. Thank you. No, you you got it quick. That is an interest I don't know. I guess it like prevents people from like not but you got your paddle tested. That was a weird thing. That was just like
Anna Bright: It was just overnight, like I I should have checked, I guess, that it was the right color, but I also I think that they should have made it more clear that they hadn't gotten to it yet, 'cause I left it overnight.
Kate: Hundred percent. If I drop my paddle off, yeah, then I'm like I'm I just pick it up and I'm like I don't really check it like
Anna Bright: Yeah. Gabe just texted me. I texted have you texted Gabe happy birthday? It's his birthday. You're welcome. He definitely won't. He's never doing
Kate: That was so funny. god. no, I haven't. He probably won't watch this. It's fine. Remember? my god, your birthday,
Anna Bright: that.
Kate: your birthday a couple of days ago, we were just fully texting for like an hour. And then I was like, my god. I was like, it's I was like, it's your birthday. And you were like, yeah.
Anna Bright: No, I was laughing because I was like, she's gonna realize and you as soon as you said that, like, my god, I was like, I'm laughing at you. I'm laughing at you. I'm
Kate: I was like, yay. Okay. Give us a birthday recap because in Vegas we had a conversation about how birthdays are weird and like I usually cry on my birthday. I saw your video, you usually cry on your birthday. So give us the
Anna Bright: Yeah.
Kate: highs, the lows, everything.
Anna Bright: Yeah. I was crying. I was really sad my last few birthdays for a few reasons. I feel like one part of it is totally getting older is kind of like a crazy freaky thing. And people older than you are always like, you're not that old. But then you're like, I just turned twenty seven, you're turning. I've I'll leave that to to you to share. But but then you're like, my god, I still feel like I'm twenty two. So there's that part of it. And then there's all like the expectation being in a birthday. I wasn't I might have been like let down a little bit by some f some males a little bit. But I had
Kate: I know we won't name names.
Anna Bright: we we don't need to name names, but I had a great day. I woke up feeling happy. It was literally like one of my New Year's resolutions to not be sad on my birthday. And it was a match day,
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: so it's not like I did a bunch of crazy stuff, but what you got me was so sweet. I'm actually wearing the pants right now that Kate Fahy got me everyone. There's my
Kate: Aren't they so comfy?
Anna Bright: they're so comfy and they make my tush look Juicy. I actually wore these to the
Kate: Mm.
Anna Bright: venue to like do my dynamic because I was cold. And I'll just say I was catching some looks. I was catching some looks. Kate. Yes, from
Kate: From the right gender. Thank you.
Anna Bright: the correct gender. Kate also got me this very do you like how I was ready? Do you like how I was ready to share?
Kate: Yeah, you were. That's good. Okay, it's not like the most aesthetic shirt, but the proceeds go
Anna Bright: It's campy.
Kate: to protecting national parks, which I thought was cool. It's a little bit.
Anna Bright: Defend defend the parks. And Kate also got me a mascara that I do really like.
Kate: Have you tried it?
Anna Bright: I have. I was wearing it the last two days of the tournament. I do really like it. Especially with my new lash lift. You know, my new lashes from Vietnam.
Kate: Okay. yes. It looks so good.
Anna Bright: I also got Annalie got me some nice stuff. And then my mom is actually right here just kind of listening in. Cause sorry for the sprinkle sound. This is more ASMR. My mom got me. This she's laughing. She's laughing. Yeah.
Kate: Wait, can we have her explain what it is?
Anna Bright: Mommy, come here. Yes. Come explain.
Kate: The bing.
Anna Bright: You look beautiful. She's eating a hot dog from Costco right now. But tell tell us here. Just come right here and tell us what this is.
Kate: I love a good Costco hot dog. you look so pretty.
Anna Bright: Is Anna Bear. Anna Bear. Yeah,
Kate: that's so cute.
Anna Bright: thank. Thank you. She's feeling shy. That's that's what she has to say. It's an Anna
Kate: I love it.
Anna Bright: Bear. Yeah, Ale got me. Ale got me like hella balloons and donuts. I ate, she got me seven donuts. I had three of them on my birthday.
Kate: Yes, as you should.
Anna Bright: And I went to Portillos. We love Portillos.
Kate: We love Pertillos. We I only got to I was literally the last match on three nights in a row. So we only got to w go one night, but it was an out of body experience.
Anna Bright: It's divine. Did you get the cake shake?
Kate: Yeah, cake shake and the chocolate cake, of course. And I got the brat and
Anna Bright: you have to get them together.
Kate: the hot dog. You have to get them together. Yeah. Millie was like s
Anna Bright: You have to like people don't understand that. It's an out of body experience.
Kate: Millie like refused. She was like, I'm not going to that like crappy place. And I was like, no, you don't get it. Like, it's not like because one time we went to this like maybe a little bit sketchy Mexican place in Mesa, and she got food poisoning. So now she doesn't really trust me with my food wrecks. But I'm like, you to believe me like the hole in the walls are the best places. And but I was also like Pertillos is not
Anna Bright: The hole in the wall, Portillos.
Kate: but I was also like Pertillos is not a hole in the wall. Trust me. It's like nice. and we finally convinced her.
Anna Bright: it's on a similar level to like Chick-fil-A or Canes.
Kate: I think like nicer almost.
Anna Bright: Yeah, like probably canes or nicer, even like bordering
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: bordering like a drive-thru shake shack.
Kate: Yes. Like it doesn't feel like I mean there is a drive-thru, but it doesn't feel like fast food to me. It almost feels like a chilies.
Anna Bright: Yeah, like as you're sh sh like shoving your glizzy down your throat, you're like, this is a classy establishment.
Kate: It feels no, literally, I'm like, should I wear my nice jeans tonight to Protillos?
Anna Bright: I thought about memeing that 'cause I was hoping that more people would be done and could kind of go with me to Portillos, you know, and it might be funny to like wear a dress or something. It was a bit of a meme. But
Kate: That would be so good. No, but I was like, should we do a birthday dinner or something? But then I was like, We literally play until at midnight, so no birthday dinner.
Anna Bright: No, it's not. Yeah, people kept asking me, people kept asking me that. And I was just like, it's not gonna happen. It's funny, the waters were asking me, and of course they're generally quite bougie with
Kate: Hmm.
Anna Bright: what they eat, but they were like, Brittany, what are you doing tonight? And was you were finishing way later than me, but we're still done at like 8 p.m., you know, or 8
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: 30. And there's like things you have to do and everything. And I was like, honestly, I want a hot dog, I'm gonna portillows. And they were
Kate: They're like
Anna Bright: not really about it, except Steven Waters was about it. Steven was like, They all don't like hot dogs, but I love a hot dog.
Kate: Damn with hot dogs. You're like, yeah, Steven. That's so good.
Anna Bright: I was like, Steven, I'm with you. I'm sorry that you're not getting to live your best life and like put down the glizsies like I'm putting down the glizzies because he should have. Just me, Kim, my mom, and Steven Waters. Incredible group. Incredible group.
Kate: He should have come to your birthday dinner. Just him. You, Kim Le Peng, and Steven Watson. That would have been so good. I actually overused it one night and I had on both my thighs, I took a picture. One hot one thigh had a hot dog on it, the other thigh had a bra worse, I had a bra on it. And I like, this is living. It's like,
Anna Bright: It's like
Kate: it's like one o'clock in the morning. I'm like, this is living.
Anna Bright: It's like that trend like hot dog or legs from a long time ago. You
Kate: Yes.
Anna Bright: were just doing hot dogs on legs.
Kate: And then I literally opened up my chocolate cake and our mom was like our mom was like, Can I have a bite? Because we were staying in the same hotel and I was like, It's finished. So no, I ate the whole entire thing. Like
Anna Bright: Sorry King, sorry King. That's incredible. That's so incredible actually.
Kate: I ate both within seconds. I was like, this is I'm
Anna Bright: I think
Kate: having a good time.
Anna Bright: I think we both need to start doing a better job of like, I take so many random video clips, but I think that the social accounts for these for this, for Let Her Cook, needs to see like those types of photos. Yeah, like even the photo you took today
Kate: that's a good idea. Because like I have so many like
Anna Bright: of you just like flexing with the no guns, like that's perfect. That's what we that's what the people want to see.
Kate: That's what we need. Cause I'm like, I do like tournament dumps and I wanna be like totally unhinged, but then I'm like sponsored. I don't know. It just feels like
Anna Bright: Would American sports construction want that?
Kate: no. Like they want like, you know, like I need to be like the buttoned up girl that I am on court, you know? So yeah, let's
Anna Bright: Of course, of course. The picture of class?
Kate: So much class always. yeah, so I let's do unhinged dumps and let her cook.
Anna Bright: I think that's I think that's great. Yeah, I need to start taking more unhinged photos. I have no shortage of unhinged videos. If you guys wanna see Kate's foot, what she's been dealing with on her foot, you can go to the Vegas vlog.
Kate: I was gonna say, I have so many. I god. I had a lot of people like come up to me and they were like, I really like you on Anna's vlog. Like, is your toe okay? And I was like, thank you for asking. No, it's not.
Anna Bright: It's really, it's not, but I I like you sharing that because A, it's funny. B it lets the people know that you are not only crushing it in singles and doubles, of course, but like you're dealing with that. So it just makes you like seem even tougher.
Kate: So true. I like literally probably need to amputate my toe, but we keep going. We're gonna grind this week in Virginia Beach. It was infected. I went on antibiotics.
Anna Bright: Isn't it infected? Didn't you tell me that? That's crazy.
Kate: Yeah, I literally had to go on antibiotics. And then I finished antibiotics and then chat was like, I think you still have the infection. And I was like, perfect. because the
Anna Bright: my gosh.
Kate: toenail fell off, actually, but then the one underneath is now damaged. So I'm like, perfect. I'm like,
Anna Bright: The toenail underneath the toenail?
Kate: yeah, is damaged.
Anna Bright: You have multiple toenails going on?
Kate: I have multiple damaged toenails. I'm like, okay, great, I we can start fresh with the new toenail damaged. I'm like, perfect. Yeah. It's tough. It's really tough out here. Yeah.
Anna Bright: okay. That's really really difficult, but I am happy for you that you keep pushing, pushing on. We're all we're all happy. She's got
Kate: I'm pushing. I'm resilient. Yeah.
Anna Bright: toenail problems, she's seeing stars. She is, you know, bringing bringing,
Kate: Refusing to speed up.
Anna Bright: yes, she's bringing sweet innocent Millie into the into the world of like
Kate: Poor Millie
Anna Bright: Millie said to
Kate: She's
Anna Bright: me, we were talking, like, I don't know if it was Saturday morning, and I was just like, Congrats, like so happy for you guys to make the semifinals, whatever. And she's like, dude, I've never gotten hate comments in my life. But playing with Kate, now I'm getting hate. And I'm
Kate: Welcome to the dark side. She's like she's like, Why are these people saying this? I'm like, Yeah, good question, girl.
Anna Bright: She's like, I don't know, this never happens to me. This never this is so weird.
Kate: She's like literally the nicest person ever and she's like receiving like
Anna Bright: Hey, you make
Kate: It's so good.
Anna Bright: the simis. Like, I'll take that all day, every day. Kate, tell us how it feels to be like a left side baddie. I'm like so happy for
Kate: my god.
Anna Bright: you.
Kate: I'm just like bringing so much offense on the left side. I like want to do a clinic on it. no. it is like definitely a different world over there. I'm like, I feel like kind of a little bit out of place, and I'm like, what am I doing over there? It's kind of like imposter syndrome a little bit. But then I'm like, I like start match and I'm like, should I switch sides right now? I'm like, but I'm like, okay, stay over there. You're okay. but I kind of like it. It like, you know, you're kind of moving all over the place, forces
Anna Bright: Yeah.
Kate: you to move your feet. but I definitely I need to develop a little bit of a flick, I feel. I'm getting some higher balls on that side and just
Anna Bright: Yeah.
Kate: okay, but I was opposite Georgia Johnson, who's got like some of the best hands on the female tour. So I'm like, I ain't gonna flick into that.
Anna Bright: I think the yeah. No.
Kate: so it was just more of a grind.
Anna Bright: That's why you didn't do it.
Kate: Yeah, that's why I didn't do it. I would have honestly, like my flick is so good, but like I just didn't do it 'cause of that.
Anna Bright: In that interview, I was watching that that match and watching I watched a good number of your matches. And I think in that interview you were talking about how you were just trying to find some offense on the left. And I texted you immediately. I don't think you saw it to a little bit later, but I was like, offense? Like that's BS. I was literally, no,
Kate: You're like there you don't again.
Anna Bright: I think there's a vlog clip of me recording me watching your match. So maybe it'll show up in the next vlog. And I was just joking. I was like, Kate's never speeding that up. She's never speeding that up. Grind! Grind!
Kate: It's like 10-9. It's like 10-9. The ball's here. Eeyh! Back cross court.
Anna Bright: No, but for real, I was so I am so impressed with this is me glazing a little bit, but like your feel, your ability to hit the two-hand out of the air, still with topspin. Like that's people don't understand how hard that is. And you're making that like when I was watching,
Kate: Thank you. I can't tell if you're trolling me.
Anna Bright: I'm actually not trolling you. I was you can
Kate: Okay, okay, okay.
Anna Bright: ask him. I was I was like glazing you hard. I was like, that level of feel is so impressive.
Kate: Thank you. Thank you.
Anna Bright: Genuinely. Genuinely.
Kate: I do like it over there. I think it's like I think from obviously my whole career I was playing primarily right side, which is like fine. Like obviously there's people that do it and are like really good, but I was like, I should probably be able to play both sides and I wanna be able to play both sides. so I've I'd be working on it. I'd be working on it. But like I'm not like, you know, I'll I'll still play right side. Like I'm not like, I don't know, tattooed to it.
Anna Bright: No.
Kate: We'll see.
Anna Bright: I think that at the if we play together at the USA or the USA Cup, that's so American of me. The MLP World's Cup. The USA Cup. Whatever. The MLP Nations Cup.
Kate: USA cup is crazy. Welcome to the American Cup.
Anna Bright: Yes, the regions of the World Cup. Maybe we should play some. Maybe we should literally just commit to you playing
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: the left and me playing the right. We should just try it.
Kate: In the beginning of MLP we tried to play straight up and then I think Eric was like, So we're gonna put Anna on the left. That's like this makes sense. It was a disaster.
Anna Bright: It was a disaster. And and and the thing is, I think now it wasn't just it wasn't like that you were
Kate: Mm.
Anna Bright: bad on the left. You've gotten way better on the left. But I think it was also just because I feel the same way. When I play the left with Annalise, it's the worst left side I could possibly play because she's crowding me in the middle. Like she
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: wants to touch every ball she can. And she should. Like she is so good and her backhand is so good. She's so manipulative from there. But I just felt like I couldn't move. And then I think then
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: then I kinda realized I think it was kind of like that with you because I was like getting too antsy. I wasn't like letting you cook enough. So now, name of the show, we're gonna let my girl cook.
Kate: We're gonna let her cook over there. I'm just gonna come over on this side, take a little bit of forehand. No, I think and obviously like w in MLP, like our primary offense was from you. And so it was a little bit like the roles were weird. Like I was like waiting
Anna Bright: Mm.
Kate: for you to speed up. I don't know, it was it was odd, but we'll figure it out for America Cup. Speaking
Anna Bright: The America got
Kate: of, I'm so excited. I wanna see what our what our uniforms look like. Sounds like t shirt and shorts.
Anna Bright: I am excited. I don't think they're gonna be great. I think we're gonna have to. Kate and I wanted to look. The only words I can think to describe the way that we want it to look are not appropriate to say, but I think that, you know, we
Kate: not appropriate for an audience.
Anna Bright: might be having to work hard to look cute. But it'll be we might be rolling. Yeah.
Kate: We might like have a like a rubber band, you know, we might like t tie it up, rolling. We're gonna do like remember the Sophie shorts or Sophie whatever they are? And people would like roll it, roll it. That might be in our future.
Anna Bright: Yes. They would roll them. That we might be doing some of that. We have quite a squad. It's us, Tyra, Will Howells, who's I think we should make Will our captain. I think
Kate: Hundred percent.
Anna Bright: it would mean a lot to him. Ben Johns. And CJ Klinger.
Kate: Yeah, CJ came up to it was so cute in Vegas and he was like he he was like this, he's like, You ready? And I was like
Anna Bright: She's like, I like playing the left, but I don't, I don't know if I like playing the left like that.
Kate: signing up for a tournament. I know. I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, and he's like, for for MLP Cup. I'm like, yeah, and it was so cute. It was like, he's amazing. I think it'll be really fun. I'm excited.
Anna Bright: It'll be really novel and I think I think we will have a lot to talk about from that week.
Kate: Hundred per yeah, definitely. I was honestly excited for our big team Airbnb. I wanted to do that. Like bunk beds, co ed bunk beds, like everyone just like huddled together in the spirit of America. It's what I wanted, but we're not getting it.
Anna Bright: Yeah, just some team bonding, some team, some team chemistry. So I Kate and I were talking about this because we're like, what are we gonna do as far as like staying that week? And I texted the team USA group chat that is very active and was like, Johnny, big team, big team like Airbnb, or are we like getting a stipend? And he just goes, No stipend. America's economy is hurting right now.
Kate: I love your response to you. You're like, we're t we'll turn it around with this win.
Anna Bright: Yeah.
Kate: That's what we need right now. Is a team USA win.
Anna Bright: What team USA needs is me and Kate V here.
Kate: Team USA wins, MLP Cup, gas prices go down. Amen. Period. Thank you.
Anna Bright: Period. Milk gets cheaper, eggs get cheaper, everything. Everything.
Kate: Thank you.
Anna Bright: So speaking of Worlds and the MLP Cup, not the America Cup, I would never be so America centric. Everyone knows the classic A B hat. everyone is and their mother asked me when they can get a new one. New ones are dropping in Worlds. We have this pretty green, forest green colorway.
Kate: It is really pretty.
Anna Bright: It is really pretty. I did wear this for one match in Vegas. Kate, are you gonna be wearing a hat, you know, now? Kate, you can you know, the floor is yours. The floor is yours.
Kate: Thank you so much. I'll take that. I think like growing up, I thought my forehead was okay. I was like, okay, you know, like I don't need bangs, I I'm okay. But in recent recent posts, I've realized that I guess my forehead is pretty big. and people like to comment on it. I had a nice man. I'm gonna call him out by name. Steve Bozic. He said, What do you see here? A twenty nine year old female or forty-five year old dude. Which I'm also confused, because like do you see a wrinkle there? Like, do you see a forty-five year old wrinkle? Thank you, Botox. but so yeah, I think I might be rocking a hat from now on. you might catch me with bangs or a hat at worlds, so that'll be a surprise for my fans.
Anna Bright: That's a crazy comment. You sent me that and I felt bad for laughing, but my first reaction was genuinely to laugh.
Kate: No, it's funny. Like literally I like saw it, I was like Literally was like, I can't win. Also, like, also
Anna Bright: You can't win.
Kate: like, what does that have to do? I don't even remember what the post was, but it was not about my my forehead. it was the Grand
Anna Bright: It was it.
Kate: Sand one. No. but I was like, I was like, this is confusing, Steve. but thank you for shouting that out. So yeah, if anyone has any like solutions to something like that, let me
Anna Bright: I'm staring
Kate: know.
Anna Bright: at your forehead right now, and I think I think my forehead is literally bigger than your forehead. Like
Kate: We gotta measure it maybe. I think it literally I think I'm one of the few people that I guess
Anna Bright: I think you have a perfectly normal
Kate: don't wear a hat. Maybe I don't
Anna Bright: I think you have a perfectly normal forehead and
Kate: Thank you.
Anna Bright: you just don't you just don't wear a hat and
Kate: I don't know
Anna Bright: that's that's all he's but that's crazy work. That's absolutely crazy work too. That guy comments on a lot of my stuff too. He also messages me a good amount that we get so many weird.
Kate: He messaged me too, and y remember that like picture with my tongue out with Hunter?
Anna Bright: yeah That's him that's so weird
Kate: That was the guy that like put the eggplant in there, yeah. And I was like And I was like, Steve, I don't I don't think this is appropriate.
Anna Bright: Yeah, that might be he's he's getting close to that to that the B word. Yeah. I need to do
Kate: Yeah, the like the B word. The B word. It's like B word. Yeah, it's like
Anna Bright: that.
Kate: you get creepy comments for sure.
Anna Bright: I do, and my mother likes almost all of them. No,
Kate: No.
Anna Bright: she does. She does. She's so funny. She's like tuning in right now. She's like piping up. I can see her right there. She's like, ooh, what's what's going on? What's going on?
Kate: She's like she's like I can think of some comments.
Anna Bright: So my my social media is like a team effort between me and my mom. At every PPA. She is hounding people. Do you follow Anna on Instagram? Do you subscribe to her newsletter? And it's
Kate: That's amazing.
Anna Bright: It's so cute. It's like when I hit a new 10K milestone once, she texted me, like, let's keep working. Like, me together. She's tracked. No, she checks
Kate: She's tracking. She knows.
Anna Bright: every day where my followers are at. She is grinding for me. It's absolute, it's boots on the
Kate: That's boots on the ground. Like she is doing the Lord's work.
Anna Bright: ground. Like she's getting me like five to ten a day that I wouldn't have otherwise. And when you are trying to do what I'm trying to do, like every everything counts.
Kate: Everything, every single follower.
Anna Bright: She just she just t said she got me two more followers on her plane yesterday.
Kate: She's like, Do you follow her? And they're like, No. And she like watches them as they follow you. She's like, This conversation's not over.
Anna Bright: No, literally. No, literally. That's what she does. So it's yeah. So she just got me two more yesterday. Thank you, mommy. Shout out to my two new followers out of, you know, you yes. Okay. but she likes
Kate: Period.
Anna Bright: almost, she engages with a lot of my comments, and she's known to like every single one. And my
Kate: Obsessed.
Anna Bright: dad once sent a screenshot to our family chat. Let me see if I can quickly
Kate: Is it my cock?
Anna Bright: No! it might have been my cock. yes, yes, yes.
Kate: We have a there's a
Anna Bright: Someone, someone commented. Profile pics for the Tinder Vietnam account. One like, my dad says, whoever could it be. Tickle peekle.
Kate: You're like you're like will it be? You're like clicking on it, will it be? it's biggle be got. Okay.
Anna Bright: It's she's just in there like liking everything. Like Mike Hawk could comment like I want to know what it smells like. And she would probably like it. Like she's just she's so
Kate: No, it's so crazy. I think Mike Hawk one time commented, I wanna know what her O face is and I go on the likes and I go on the likes and it's just PPA. I'm like, perfect. Yeah. I'm like, who's doing this work? Ireland, Bannon, like, show yourself. Yeah.
Anna Bright: Really? It's like is this who is this? Is this Ireland? Is this Bannon? Is this someone else? Is this someone else?
Kate: Which is so funny. Mike Hawk is usually okay, we're sound like we're saying it's Mike Hawk everybody.
Anna Bright: It's two words, but
Kate: two words, thank you. But he's he's naughty, he's special.
Anna Bright: He's special. He made he made his profile picture a very questionable screenshot of me. He
Kate: did he?
Anna Bright: he has changed it, thankfully. But I was
Kate: Mm.
Anna Bright: I was gonna block. Like I found him pretty funny, but that one I actually didn't, I didn't enjoy that. That was
Kate: That's a little yeah, that's that's too far.
Anna Bright: that was too that was too much for me, but he he changed that. Phew. I really wonder.
Kate: Maybe he'll reveal himself one day. Like Hayden Patrick and Lover.
Anna Bright: Yes, yeah. Hayden Patrick Wooden Lover is funny. Yeah. My my other favorite comment that I saw this week, we didn't really understand this one. I don't think Kate really found it that funny. I found it hilarious though. This is in the kitchen on Facebook. David Randall seems like Alhooney graduated from the Kate. I feel like this should be like in some campy text on screen. Kate Fahey
Kate: Mm-hmm.
Anna Bright: Strong, Fierce Woman Academy with every single word with a capital letter.
Kate: Mo, if you wanna go to the academy, just let me know. We
Anna Bright: Kate Fahy's Strong Fierce Woman Academy. Yeah.
Kate: can set that up.
Anna Bright: The Strong Fierce Woman Academy. So what do we think that, like what what does your academy stand for, Kate? And how does Mo Alhooney embody what you stand for?
Kate: Hundred percent. I'm still coming up with like the values of my academy, to be honest. I'm still coming up with like the foundation. but I think just like being strong and fierce and like letting
Anna Bright: Mm.
Kate: letting yourself letting your true self shine. And so if that's what
Anna Bright: Yeah.
Kate: he's doing on the court then like he can be a part of our academy. Like we don't like we let everybody in. Like yeah, so
Anna Bright: 100%. Let us know in the comments if you want to be in the Kate Fehey Strong Fear Swoman
Kate: Part of my academy.
Anna Bright: Academy. I feel like this, I feel like this has t-shirt.
Kate: I bring people through the ringer.
Anna Bright: I feel like this has T-shirt potential. Like I graduated from the Kate Fehee Strong Fear Swoman Academy. That's so camp.
Kate: I'm also just like curious like what they meant. Like so if
Anna Bright: Yeah, it's kind of confusing. I wish I I it's too hard to like go back and find the post, but it has when I screenshotted, it had six comments. I would love to know what they said. But they had Mo had had a good run. The Anwar Brahm and Bruno making the simis was kind of crazy. This Bruno, that's a big
Kate: crazy.
Anna Bright: boy.
Kate: He's a big boy. Fun fact, I used to, he was like one of the like first people I used to play with in New York City. Like he
Anna Bright: Really?
Kate: was like in my core group. Like we used to play together like almost every night. because there weren't there he was like really good and there weren't that many people in New York. And so we just had a crew and we would like play together all the time. He's always been super nice and I'm really excited for him. But he did you see when he fell? Like that is a big boy.
Anna Bright: I d I didn't, but he's I
Kate: Him falling was
Anna Bright: think his sh Annalee was saying that her main observation about him was that his shorts were probably too small.
Kate: Hundred percent. Definitely. I also think he takes like a very wide base of the kitchen and so his shorts are even more hiked up when he's on that wide base. It was like Yeah. Yeah. There are there are a few men on tour where it's like, maybe we can
Anna Bright: I might need to go back and watch some of these matches for science.
Kate: just like like lengthen the the shorts a little bit, I think.
Anna Bright: No is used to be a little short.
Kate: Tastel. Posiola, pos posiola I was like, okay, maybe they'll get a little bit longer. No. No. Which is okay. That's his thing.
Anna Bright: That's just his thing. He's like, I've got some legs, I'm gonna do it. I might need to go back and watch some of these matches of Bruno and Anwar for Science. But what do you think Bruno benches?
Kate: I don't know. 250? Is that light?
Anna Bright: Yeah, right. It's gotta be we should ask him. I would be really I'd
Kate: We should ask him. He would love that question.
Anna Bright: be really curious. Is there anyone who you think
Kate: He
Anna Bright: could bench more on tour?
Kate: I don't know. I feel like in terms of like actual like size of muscle, he's like because I feel like pickleball like you don't want to be too big, right?
Anna Bright: In theory you don't.
Kate: Like but I mean it's clearly working for him, but like
Anna Bright: It's working for him.
Kate: Christian could bench more, obviously.
Anna Bright: Obviously. I a I wonder what Christian could bench.
Kate: Obviously. what are you at now?
Anna Bright: I haven't done it in a while. I'm gonna text Christian right now.
Kate: Immediate response.
Anna Bright: Do you know what your
Kate: Should I text Bruno?
Anna Bright: yes, do you know what your one rep max is on bench? Current and all time.
Kate: Okay, current and
Anna Bright: He he's in Australia. I don't I don't expect to get a response, but maybe next episode, which we're gonna do Wednesday releases, everyone. So next Wednesday we might have some answers for you on bench. Maybe we should just ask like all the men and
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: have like a ranking list.
Kate: It's like the grip strength thing with Ryan. We should just like
Anna Bright: Yeah.
Kate: have like but there's no way to like do it so we don't know if they're lying.
Anna Bright: Yeah, you can't do it, but we can yeah, they could be lying to us, but
Kate: Yeah. Yeah, if there's anything you guys want us to talk about, I feel like Bruno will answer.
Anna Bright: Yeah, let us know.
Kate: He'll be like, what the heck?
Anna Bright: No, I think he'll love that question. A man who's proud of his bench, like I don't think anything could make him happier. He's
Kate: I mean he's wearing a tank top, like
Anna Bright: wearing a tank top.
Kate: he's showing off the guns. I haven't done it. I haven't done it since we did it in Florida and I embarrassed myself.
Anna Bright: I don't think I've maybe
Kate: Mm.
Anna Bright: once and I think I failed again. I think with Connor, I think I still couldn't get 120. I think I'm still one fifteen. Okay.
Kate: Is that what we were at in Mesa? Or no, we were we were one five.
Anna Bright: I think we both hit one ten. I I don't remember. Okay, maybe
Kate: yeah, yeah.
Anna Bright: I'm benching a little more than you, but dude, your back and your shoulders had me thinking like I think in one of them I commented, like, I love women. Looking back, I want I wish I had commented like God is a woman. Because Give me all of the negative forehead comments
Kate: My back is backing right now.
Anna Bright: if my back and my biceps and my shoulder look like that. Like tell me I have a fear head, a five head, if
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: that's what my back looks like.
Kate: I d I have been doing yeah, I guess I've been doing some upper body, but like it's funny because I feel like and you maybe feel this no, you have really good posture. My posture is bad because I feel like everything has been like so like this way for our whole
Anna Bright: Right.
Kate: lives or like with tennis and stuff. And so people have like, You need to do more like back to strengthen your back. But I'm like, I feel like my back's pretty strong. I'm like But I don't know. Thank you.
Anna Bright: I do think it's important, but my I think my posture's gotten better with lifting just 'cause it does like pull your shoulders back a little, but just trying to not
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: grow into like a hunchback of Notre Dame, which I do think is unfortunately pretty common for tennis and pickleball players.
Kate: That I know. That one video with you and Kim when you were like doing this, your freaking b I was like,
Anna Bright: My side del
Kate: side was crazy. I was like,
Anna Bright: No.
Kate: I like did a little zoom in. I was like, that was sick.
Anna Bright: I work hard for that small muscle. I do lateral raises like every other day. Yeah, I'm obsessed.
Kate: is that what that is? Lateral raises?
Anna Bright: Yates and Roscoe actually saw me doing lateral raises and they were trolling me hard. They were like bolder shoulders, bigger shoulders in the PPA. Like, and then, but the thing is, I only lifted on Monday in Vegas. And then I was dealing with so many little nagging injuries that I haven't lifted since. I'm actually really glad that Kim
Kate: really?
Anna Bright: was there. I feel like. I feel like a lot of us are kind of falling apart right now.
Kate: I know.
Anna Bright: Like if she hadn't been there, I think I would have been pretty, pretty down bad actually. But she was. She was really helpful. And I had a
Kate: Shoot. So she was like really helpful to have there. That's great.
Anna Bright: ton of fun having her there. I kind of was, you know, it's just different, like having someone. And I, at first I was like, you know, I felt like responsible for her and responsible for her kind of having a good time. Kim is the Filipino, beautiful Filipino woman who was with me all week. Everyone.
Kate: Gorgeous.
Anna Bright: We got asked if we were sisters a lot. And every time I was like, Thank you. Thank you so thank you. Thank you so much for thinking this is my sister.
Kate: Yeah. Sorry, what did you say? Can you say it one more time? Can you put that in writing?
Anna Bright: You know? And of course, she's like giving it back to me. She's like, no, like it's a compliment to me. And I'm like, girl, your lips are so full, and you're so
Kate: She's so pretty.
Anna Bright: tall, and you're in this cute, like onesie, tight. We're walking through Whole Foods. And I'm like, girl, they're not talking about
Kate: Every day she has a new outfit, I'm like, She looks so good.
Anna Bright: me. Like this is a Like thank you. But I just rolled out of bed. I'm wearing Kate's Defend the Parks shirt. Like
Kate: Ha ha ha.
Anna Bright: they're not the compliment is to me, but thank you.
Kate: Thank you.
Anna Bright: but I sh yeah, I think having her there was great. And we got on awesome. We had such a good time. And she's she's a little feisty.
Kate: Did you guys stay together?
Anna Bright: same I got her a room at the same hotel as as I
Kate: nice, nice.
Anna Bright: was at. it sounds so crispy when you hold it close to your mouth like that.
Kate: It really does. You sound so good.
Anna Bright: Whoa, okay, we might have to actually get mic stands and not balance them on
Kate: We gotta get a stand.
Anna Bright: this little random
Kate: This sounds so official.
Anna Bright: Whoa, okay.
Kate: okay, Bruno answered. Okay, guess what? He said, haven't done PR in a while, but all time one rep bench max is guess.
Anna Bright: I honestly feel like he could be in the NFL. He looks like he could be like in an N I'll
Kate: Ha ha.
Anna Bright: say I'll say two. What's three plates? Like three fifteen. I'll give our guy Bruno. I'm gonna say he had a lift like a big lifting phase. I'll give him three fifteen.
Kate: Three thirty.
Anna Bright: NOOOO
Kate: That's crazy. I I like believe it.
Anna Bright: Okay, now you tell him your max is like one five and just see what he says. Just be like, cool, mine is one five.
Kate: Cool, cool. You didn't ask, but mine is one five.
Anna Bright: Yeah.
Kate: Right now I
Anna Bright: And let's just see.
Kate: do three sets of eight with two eighty. Bruh.
Anna Bright: Three sets of eight at two eighty?
Kate: That's crazy. I'm like I'm like three sets of eight with like thirties in my hand.
Anna Bright: Three sets of eight at two eighty. I'm kind of like, that's hot. Like a part of me is like, that's hot. 280?
Kate: His wife's gonna come after you. Yeah.
Anna Bright: Well, no, she should take it as a compliment. But that
Kate: True.
Anna Bright: is that is impressive. Like that's a man.
Kate: I'm gonna say, wow. Mine is one hundred five.
Anna Bright: Not even a third. Not even a third. Did you I don't
Kate: Well he's gonna be like
Anna Bright: even know if you hit that. I think that was your I think that's your February max. I don't think you got that a couple months ago. We'll have to check the footage.
Kate: So embarrassing. I'm gonna go to the gym after this and get two eighty.
Anna Bright: I'm at least at one third. I can do one third. You've gotta get you've gotta hit one ten girl. You have to hit one ten. You have to be pushing thirty-three percent of what Bruno pushes.
Kate: I've gotta hit I've got it yeah, this is bad. This is bad. I'll literally risk the bar falling on my face. Maybe that's it. My forehead gets smaller if the bar falls.
Anna Bright: Yeah, and your back and your shoulders won't be impacted. So you're good.
Kate: True. Those are my yeah.
Anna Bright: Those are your moneymakers.
Kate: No response.
Anna Bright: I really wish we had a response from Christian.
Kate: I know. I don't know who else
Anna Bright: It's
Kate: would be a lot.
Anna Bright: Like who else would have had a lifting phase? Ryan Fu, but I know he he used to be
Kate: really?
Anna Bright: quite into benching because he would tell me about it. But I don't even do people even want to know what Ryan Fu benches? Do people know who love him? But
Kate: Love him. Great guy.
Anna Bright: Mm. Well we'll w Kate and I will do field research.
Kate: I can't think. Hayden has said that lifting makes him slower, right?
Anna Bright: It's funny because Hayden says that, but Federico texted me 36 minutes ago, did you tell Hayden he needs to work out? Federico just texted me that. So I'm wondering what's going on.
Kate: Did you tell him that?
Anna Bright: No, I didn't. I didn't say that. Exactly. But I am always I'm always engaging in subtle encouragement, I would
Kate: Right.
Anna Bright: say.
Kate: You're just wanting him to be a better player, better person.
Anna Bright: I just want the best for him.
Kate: For him, a hundred percent. So what was like the subtle like give us give us something?
Anna Bright: You know, we might have been discussing the match on our loss to the Johnsons. And I was, you know, we were just talking about it. And I was just like, you know, like, I feel like it was just a long, a long stretch, like all good. You know, I do feel like maybe you were like we were both a little tired, but I think it's important that we like kind of fake it till we make it a little bit more. And he was like, totally like, I want this, I want this bad, like more than you know. And he was like, I'm, I'm, and that was kind of that.
Kate: I love that from him.
Anna Bright: And I was like, okay, great. You know, like let's let's let's keep pushing. Let's keep let's keep it pushing, you know, because
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: because so so I maybe it's related to that, but that that's all really. He has
Kate: yeah.
Anna Bright: been more motivated lately. He's told me that he's been going to the gym. I don't know that I the like where the time for that would have been, considering he had like his getaways trip and then his bender in
Kate: Mm.
Anna Bright: Vegas. And then we were in Vegas and then we were in Chicago. But in Vegas, we were talking this, just like joking about. Like me being jacked and stuff. And I was like, he's like, I'm lifting too, you know? And I was like, when's the last time you lifted? And he was like, Five, five days ago. And I was like, when you were getting hammered every day. And he was like, Yeah. And I was like, Okay. Yeah, lifting up double fisting alcohol and some girls. So that was, I don't know, but that
Kate: Yeah. At the pool parties. Yeah. Lifting up some chicks. Yeah. Which that's lifting.
Anna Bright: that's a funny text message I just got from King King Federico. So I mean Maybe
Kate: I wonder what he said to Fed that made Fed text you that.
Anna Bright: I know, I'll I'll have to follow up and do more recon with Fed here and see see what prompted this. Federico and I used to joke that our entire friendship was based on Hayden. Like all Fed and I would talk about was Hayden.
Kate: You guys just both care about him. You care. And
Anna Bright: We care. We care deeply. And now Fed and I do talk about other things.
Kate: That's good.
Anna Bright: We talk about Juan. Juan is very funny. That that's a whole other thing. my God, he was. You see the brown camo? The brown camo? Yeah,
Kate: Juan Benitez. Juan was on his fit game this week. Like he had some drip. Yeah. I was like, go Juan. Yeah.
Anna Bright: he he is a hoot. He's a hoot. He's a lot of fun to be around. And I feel like those three are having an absolute blast. And I feel like I am kind of sponsoring. That blast and
Kate: I would love to be a fly on the wall with the three of them.
Anna Bright: I can't even imagine. I think it's so unhinged. I have never been around a man that likes women more than Juan Benitez. I can,
Kate: No.
Anna Bright: I should maybe just leave it at that. So I don't maybe I should just
Kate: Fair. Yep.
Anna Bright: maybe have to edit that out. I'll have to ask him.
Kate: We can we can infer that from there. We can like fill in the pieces. Yeah, the gaps. Yeah.
Anna Bright: Yeah, we we we might have to cut cut that there. I don't want to get him in trouble with but they're hilarious. He's
Kate: But he's getting a lot of airtime on center and
Anna Bright: getting so much airtime. And I love that I feel like in almost all the photos he posts, it's him like I'm not in too many of them. It's like him with the boys. And I'm totally
Kate: Mm mm, no. Yeah.
Anna Bright: fine with that because I he doesn't need to do gender for me. Like Lee Waters has the situation under control. But the boys the boys need him. So I I definitely don't don't mind. I just I do find it funny. Juan was telling me that he's like
Kate: Just him and the boys.
Anna Bright: scared of me when I'm playing. He's like, he doesn't even like want want he's like scared. He doesn't want to say anything to me. And I'm like honestly valid because I am a gremlin.
Kate: I think maybe he's scared of that clip. What did you say to Eric again when he told you to unwind to get there?
Anna Bright: I think I said I definitely said just I think he told me get there. And I said, don't tell me to get there. Very sassy.
Kate: Yeah, get there.
Anna Bright: I also waved off Mish, obviously, like yeah. And
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: yeah. And I did snap at Juan a little bit in Vegas. We're losing to Hunter and Udit. And Hunters, when he's on, off the bounce, you can't read it. It's so good. It's just
Kate: So good.
Anna Bright: so well hidden. and I was Juan just goes to me, I want you to counter. More of hunters' speed ups. And I just go, I can't read them. There might have been an F bomb in there too.
Kate: He's like, I would you to hit winners off of his speed ups, please. Thank you.
Anna Bright: And yeah, some of them do end up like in my strike zone, but I'm not I'm not ready. Like I I'm just guessing, you know, I'm just
Kate: Yeah. Yeah.
Anna Bright: reacting to like I can't afford to like sit one way or the other
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: again when he has it dead. Which now we're getting like nerdy. I I don't know that I mean people would love
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: to hear us nerd out about pickleball, but I feel like we've been talking for a good amount of time. But love Juan, I will definitely need to share more Juan Benitez stories. You know, he okay, last thing. You know, he texted us at some point on Saturday. That he would be available in 20 minutes because he was getting a haircut. And we're like, that's so random. Okay. And then he
Kate: Ha ha
Anna Bright: sends a photo. He's getting his haircut inside one of the lifetime family bathrooms.
Kate: What? At the lifetime that we were at. No way. How did he even find
Anna Bright: Yeah. Dead ass.
Kate: this person?
Anna Bright: It's one of the dads of one of the PPA juniors who I guess has a barber shop.
Kate: so it wasn't a lifetime worker.
Anna Bright: No. They just took over.
Kate: He's like he's like, I'm about to be on center. Give it to me.
Anna Bright: He's side quest maxing, yeah.
Kate: Me. Honestly, I love that from him. It's like going to Vietnam and getting our nails done. Like he's just like going to lifetimes
Anna Bright: I love it too. I feel like he's actually living his best life. Yeah.
Kate: and finding barbers. Like
Anna Bright: No, I he's a really cool guy. He went to hockey game, went to basketball game by himself. I feel like he's really kind of living his best
Kate: that's cool.
Anna Bright: life. And obviously he was a very good player, but I think he's also a very good coach. And he's kind of getting to do it at a high level now, and he is making the most of it. And all the more power to you, King.
Kate: He's so nice. He's always been so nice to me. I I like him a lot.
Anna Bright: No, he's he's such a sweetie and I love his intensity. Like every day we were I would like drill with him. and usually also H. And I feel like I feel like that's been really good, especially because I just play doubles. You know, I don't want my first pickleball I hit of the day to be at five, five PM. So
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: it's the intensity is is awesome, even if I am a bit of a gremlin in game. But we're working on it, we're working on it.
Kate: I am too. Like it happens. I think I said to Ryan this weekend I was playing doubles and I was like he said something I think you know, he has like expressions when like something bad happens and I was like, It's hard to stay positive when you're like this And he's like he's like okay yeah he's like and every every point after that he's like I like miss it in the bottom of the neck he's like It's coaching, I can't imagine how hard coaching is. Like, I would not want that job. Like
Anna Bright: No. No. Like we're so different match to match. And you're just you're just angry. You're just you're just freaking angry. Someone today, yeah.
Kate: I'm so angry.
Anna Bright: I asked someone today if they thought that I had anger problems and they said yes. And I was like, off court too? And they
Kate: I think
Anna Bright: were like, no, but on court, yeah. And I was like, I also got told
Kate: Encore it's like, how could you not? Like
Anna Bright: How could you not? Like I had a little paddle throw moment this week. I think Hayden and I were down 6-0 to J-Dub and Georgia.
Kate: yeah, I saw that.
Anna Bright: And it was just like we weren't playing great. They were super on. And it just felt like I don't know. I was just really frustrated with just how the points were going and walking to the bench. Like it was a little zesty the way I threw the paddle. Like I wasn't trying to do real damage, but I was, I it was
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: like giving the energy of a child stomping their foot. It's like, I want. Just I want people to see I'm mad. I want people to know I'm mad. The way I threw it was. No, I threw it onto my bag. Yeah. I actually
Kate: It didn't bounce up into the crowd though, so we're good. Just was like a subtle yo. That was fine.
Anna Bright: I keep thinking in my head, we need to wrap this. Then I think of something else funny I want to say. You know, I played the first three days in Chicago this week with a broken paddle again, like I did in St. Louis. I did. I am so not
Kate: No, my g I don't know how you do that. It's crazy.
Anna Bright: anal. So what happened was. Monday or Tuesday, I'm drilling just me and Juan. And I was just getting so angry. It was one of those sessions where I was so mad. And there were a good number of people watching this practice because we were practicing on center court. A lot of people weren't there yet. It's Tuesday morning. Yeah. And people are probably like,
Kate: This was in Chicago. Okay.
Anna Bright: my gosh, Anna Bright, like she just had a good week in Vegas. Like we can watch her practice amazing. I'm screaming, I'm hitting balls around. And I have such a strong urge to throw my paddle. But the paddle I was hitting with was the one that I used for the finals in Vegas. So I was like, this is my main paddle. I'm not gonna throw this one. I was like, I'm gonna have some good self-control here. And I'm gonna switch my paddles out and use a different one. I'm gonna use a different one so I can throw that one. I switch my paddles out and I'm like seeing red as I'm doing this, but I'm still I'm like, dang Anna, you're seeing red right now,
Kate: So rational.
Anna Bright: but you're still so like, you're still so put together. Great job. So I hit for and the people watching this practice are like kind of like dead silent. Like everyone is like silent. They're kind of you have some camera people, obviously, like kind of setting up things around the court. And I'm just like, Like
Kate: Yes.
Anna Bright: coming off a double golden big game.
Kate: I can literally p picture exactly this.
Anna Bright: so bad. So I miss like three more shots. Throw this thing into the ground as hard as I can. Cause normally I throw it, I kind of chuck it, fling it sideways
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: into the wall, but there's video boards everywhere. I can't do that. So I
Kate: true.
Anna Bright: slam this thing straight down. So it's like broken on the top when I pick it back up, but
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: I just keep hitting with it. And then I was like, you know what? This one feels good. I actually like now that it cause I don't know why.
Kate: my god. Did it like splinter at the top or was it like Yeah.
Anna Bright: Yeah, it was like it was splintering at the top. And I kind of that got me out of my like psycho anger. Actually, it was kind of cathartic for me. And then I so then I've like starting to feel more rational and I'm thinking, I'm like, wait, I think I like this paddle more here because in Vegas the ball was flying so much. So I wanted a really new paddle.
Kate: yeah.
Anna Bright: I actually used a lot of paddles in Vegas, which is unlike me. But then I was like, wait, like in here, it's thicker air. Like I think I like the the slightly hotter paddle. And it was one of those situations
Kate: It's so funny.
Anna Bright: where she kept passing, so I kept using the broken paddle. But then it did get too it did get a little too hot and I had to change it out. But I was
Kate: I thought you were just like you didn't know it was broken and you were using it. And I like, my god. And then you found out that it was broken. But you knew. Yeah.
Anna Bright: no, no, she was fully broken. I as soon as I threw it, I was like, I I broke a paddle. But then I kept hitting with it. And I was like, This is this is the one for me.
Kate: I am like so much more mental than you are with paddles. I get like four tested every single day.
Anna Bright: I think I am like a psycho, not I think I'm a I'm a crazy like I should be I should care about it probably more than I do.
Kate: No, it's fine if it works. But I also use different paddles for singles and doubles. So technically it's like one I test one
Anna Bright: That and that yeah. It's kinda like two for each.
Kate: for doubles. Yeah, two for each. And like that's what the testing guy
Anna Bright: And that's totally reasonable.
Kate: said. He was like, That's totally fair. He was like people that play doubles and singles, like I kind of expect them to do three or four. I'm like, Thank you.
Anna Bright: Yeah. I've been doing I was doing three a day in Chicago. Honestly. It does just
Kate: It just like makes you feel better. Like in case something happens like to one of your paddles, like you have one like set up and ready.
Anna Bright: One hundred no, one hundred percent. Cause I think once I had one that didn't feel great for whatever reason, I was in my head and I didn't have another one. Like I had another one tested, but I didn't have it ready to go with my lead setup. And I was I ended up winning the match, but I was so frustrated with myself. I was like, that can never happen
Kate: Yes.
Anna Bright: again. And then sometimes I I have those moments and I kind of am just so in awe of like Annalise team because it's so impressive how I feel like she never
Kate: I know.
Anna Bright: has to think about things like that. Not that You know, she's not
Kate: No.
Anna Bright: still managing a lot. She has so much more pressure on us, but her team, they do such an incredible job to where like she steps on the court and plays. And sometimes I feel like the ugly duckling beside her, like going to dig through my bag
Kate: I know.
Anna Bright: for like my towel. And her towel is like nicely set up for her. And I'm going to like for my glasses. And I'm just like, I'm sorry, I'm not ready yet. I'm not, I'm not ready yet.
Kate: The g the glasses are crazy. Like when she's like the the like the lighting changes and she's just like glasses and then
Anna Bright: Yeah.
Kate: she has a pair of like clean glasses. Like I
Anna Bright: No, they
Kate: was sweating so much on yesterday and I was like my f glasses were getting fogged and I'm like I'm like, give me a second I'm like rubbing on my shirt. I'm like I'm like this is just
Anna Bright: Uh-huh. No, she just it's such a dial system. Like they'll ask her, How are your glasses? Or she'll just kind of hand them and then they come back clean. Once Annalie, we we practiced at an indoor venue near where we live, and she had forgotten her glasses for whatever reason. And so she wore a pair of mine and she was like, You play with them like this? Like these are so dirty. And I was like, I thought those weren't clean.
Kate: my god, she would probably be appalled by what yeah, no.
Anna Bright: Like she wasn't being rude. Like I I don't I don't want to imply that she was being rude. It was just very funny to me that I thought, like I didn't, I didn't give Anna Lee a pair of glasses that I thought was like
Kate: No.
Anna Bright: gross. Like, you know, you're giving your it's like if I were to let you borrow these earphones, like I would try to get some of the earwax off of them. You know, it was kind of the same energy. I was like, okay, yeah. I'm like, let me clean these out a
Kate: Yeah, of course. You made them clean for her. She was like
Anna Bright: little bit. And then she was like, She was she was just joking. She was just totally joking about it. And she also, of course, has like prescriptions. So I think she's a little more sensitive to it, but I thought that was so funny. I was just like, we live,
Kate: yeah. That's so funny.
Anna Bright: we live slightly different lives, and that's okay.
Kate: No, I've been using a cracked pair for six months. I'm just like, I'm like, I'll
Anna Bright: Yeah, that's it's all good.
Kate: ask. I like just didn't ask them to send me and then I like finally did and they like, yeah. But I've just been y like I was like, it's fine. We're good. I'm like, Never doing that. Yeah.
Anna Bright: Yeah, they're like, Yeah, of course, but yeah. So making it work. Yeah, we it's it's it's pretty like ragtag and we love it that way. But do we have anything else?
Kate: But I think it makes the sport like her doing that makes the sport look really good. And hopefully like that's the future and the standard. I mean, I don't
Anna Bright: No, it does. It does. It does. A hundred percent.
Kate: think everybody can like afford that, but like hopefully in the future it'll be something that like everybody
Anna Bright: It's
Kate: can aspire to do.
Anna Bright: it's kind of trending in that direction though. Like, you know, you've had Ryan and then
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: I like, you know, Juan is with me, Fed and H. And he doesn't do it's like a full team type thing, you know, but he's super helpful. You know, super helpful to like have him around
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: and then having Kim around, I did feel a little bit more put together and hopefully like more and more of us are able to kind of do that. I don't think I'll ever be, you know, the huge bougie RV that.
Kate: No.
Anna Bright: That I would need to add a few more zeros to my income before I was able to do that, but kind of doing
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: doing what I can and she deserves it. I mean, what is she at? Two two. Kudos.
Kate: Yeah, it's crazy. But like even just like having someone there on your bench, I think makes such a big difference. Like a lot of
Anna Bright: I agree.
Kate: the t like last year, like I just like I would make it to Sunday and there would like 'cause a lot of the time I had I would have like friends come and coach me like you,
Anna Bright: Mm-hmm.
Kate: Leia, like Brooke would come, which was really nice. But then like come Sunday, like I don't like people are busy and whatever and then like I had no one. And then it
Anna Bright: Right.
Kate: was like I would look and and at least like eight people and then I would have no one. It was just like that was tough. So I'm
Anna Bright: Yeah.
Kate: really grateful that I do now.
Anna Bright: Yeah, a hundred percent. I remember coaching you once and you kinda snapped me and I was like, I loved it. I actually
Kate: You're like
Anna Bright: loved it though. No, because I was like, she likes me. She's comfortable with me. That's kind of how I took it. Like, like
Kate: It it is true. Like if I if I like get mad that means like I I really like you.
Anna Bright: Yeah, because you know, you have your guard down like
Kate: Yeah.
Anna Bright: It's a sign of love and affection to an extent.
Kate: Hundred percent. If I'm super nice, it's like mm.
Anna Bright: Yeah, like if you know, if Charlie's on my bench and tells me something, I would be so nice to him. If Charlie tells you some some BS, you might
Kate: Thank you, Charlie. Ugh.
Anna Bright: gouge out his eyes. And that's because you love that man. And I would be like, Yeah, thanks, Charlie. Thank you.
Kate: Hundred percent. Yeah. Use my rock. Like, thanks so much. I'd be like, shut the fuck up.
Anna Bright: I'd be thinking it too, but I would never I would not express it. Tell us about Virginia Beach. We close with that. Tell us about your partnerships
Kate: I don't think so. yeah.
Anna Bright: in Virginia Beach, what you're excited for.
Kate: super excited for Jimmy Beach. I've got a few new partnerships cooking. Actually, well, I've already played with Leia before, but I'm playing with Leia Jansen. We bring the energy, we bring the spice. and I'm playing with Eric onson's, which I'm really excited about. Yeah, I haven't played with him before.
Anna Bright: that's so fun. Are you excited to, you know, have a break from Federico or are you like, I miss Federico?
Kate: I definitely miss Federico. I I really do love playing with him and I feel like we've got a good thing going. but I am also excited to play with Eric.
Anna Bright: Yeah.
Kate: I think it's fun to play with new people and like see how we do and I think Eric also has like a really good, fun, positive attitude. so I'm excited. I heard there might be like some rain, some storms coming. but we'll see. We'll see. Yeah.
Anna Bright: We'll see. Th those are exciting, exciting partnerships and I wish you all the best.
Kate: I'll miss you this week though. What are you gonna do?
Anna Bright: I am going to Hong Kong and I'm gonna be there a few days early and some more
Kate: nice.
Anna Bright: of my solo solo travel era before the tournament gets going, but it doesn't really feel real to me. I haven't really thought about it or thought about the things that I want to do. But I figured if I'm going, I'll go a couple days early was kind of the
Kate: Yeah, why not?
Anna Bright: the thought process there. So but
Kate: That's fun.
Anna Bright: but don't worry everybody, we'll have an episode to you still next Wednesday. Thank you.
Kate: Thank you. It'll just be two AM her time, but it's all good. Mm-hmm.
Anna Bright: We make it work. We make it work. But okay, everyone, thank you so much for listening to our first episode. And make sure to subscribe, follow, follow all our channels and everything. We'll put them on the screen somewhere. And thank you so much, hugs and kisses.

Anna Bright: Period.
