[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Commander Shepherd, and this is my favorite lorecast on the Citadel. [SPEAKER_04]: Welcome to the Mass Effect lorecast. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm in seven the legend. [SPEAKER_08]: And I'm Genesis. [SPEAKER_08]: Join us. [SPEAKER_04]: As we explore along tides of light. [SPEAKER_04]: And through sholes of dust.

[SPEAKER_04]: To see where this lore began. [SPEAKER_08]: And consider where it may go. [SPEAKER_04]: Specters welcome back to another fun and action packed and the full houses here for this week of the Mass Effect Lorcast because it is our end of August patron chat and and Genesis we've got we've got seven patrons joining us.

[SPEAKER_04]: We've got nine people in this call total [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, we've got a full house tonight and I'm very excited about that. [SPEAKER_08]: Hello, hello and welcome in. [SPEAKER_04]: I am as well. [SPEAKER_04]: And Genesis, you just finished yesterday. [SPEAKER_04]: You just finished a panel at Pax West.

[SPEAKER_04]: I was there. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, our Pax West panel went extremely well. [SPEAKER_08]: We were very excited to talk about the history, the decades of digital love and we had a really great turnout. [SPEAKER_08]: It was seventeen plus at nine p.m. [SPEAKER_08]: on a Friday night, so we weren't sure if a lot of people were going to show up.

[SPEAKER_08]: But I think like half the theater was there and that made us really, really happy. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, that was pretty awesome. [SPEAKER_04]: Anywho, I'm going to go around the horn and allow all of our friends and patrons here to introduce themselves and I'm going to do something a little bit different off the cuff today.

[SPEAKER_04]: Why don't I get each of you to tell me what you last ate? [SPEAKER_04]: And don't lie about it. [SPEAKER_04]: I'll know if you're lying. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, so we'll start here in my top left. [SPEAKER_04]: We've got Karina, Karina, you're new. [SPEAKER_04]: Welcome in. [SPEAKER_04]: And what did you last eat?

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, thanks. [SPEAKER_09]: Well, I was just at my, um, and if you was birthday, so, uh, I'm eating right now chocolate cake. [UNKNOWN]: Oh. [SPEAKER_09]: It's like some PM from me right now because I'm in Quebec City, Canada. [SPEAKER_04]: oh nice nice chocolate cake delicious all right i know my wife is now she's in chat my wife is definitely in a message me and say hey you should go get a some chocolate cake um genesis i didn't ask what you last day what did you eat [SPEAKER_08]: Uh, technically it was just a little snack of a Bobo's chocolate chip bar.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_08]: It's like a banana nut bread with chocolate chips. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh banana bread in the lore cast dude. [SPEAKER_04]: Hell yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, the patron formerly known as psych now known as Mitch. [SPEAKER_04]: Mitch welcome back and what did you last eat?

[SPEAKER_13]: Hey, it's going to be back. [SPEAKER_13]: I just had some pads to you from a really great place down here in Norman. [SPEAKER_04]: Nice. [SPEAKER_04]: Love Thai food. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: And Jeffrey, how are you doing? [SPEAKER_04]: What did you last have to eat? [SPEAKER_03]: Well, hey, I'm doing pretty well.

[SPEAKER_03]: And there's a great sushi joint across the street from the hotel I met that that's where I had dinner and that was the last thing I ate. [SPEAKER_03]: So sushi. [SPEAKER_04]: Nice. [SPEAKER_04]: Red trobat. [SPEAKER_04]: How are you doing? [SPEAKER_04]: What do you have to eat? [SPEAKER_02]: Doing good.

[SPEAKER_02]: Glad, this one of the first times I've actually been early to the lower cast, that's a couple months, which is nice. [SPEAKER_02]: I had steak and potatoes before joining the cup. [SPEAKER_04]: Hmm, there you go. [SPEAKER_04]: Something to stick to your ribs. [SPEAKER_04]: Alright, big bills.

[SPEAKER_04]: What did you have to eat? [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, it's almost done really lame. [SPEAKER_14]: Since Scotch doesn't count as food. [SPEAKER_14]: Uh, it was slices of roast beef with sliced cheese and the snack. [SPEAKER_04]: I can imagine you standing by the fridge with the fridge door open. [SPEAKER_14]: That's a kid's won't get out of my hair meal.

[SPEAKER_14]: That's what that is. [SPEAKER_14]: All right. [SPEAKER_14]: Andrew, how's it going? [SPEAKER_14]: Could you see you again? [SPEAKER_14]: And what did you last have to eat? [SPEAKER_15]: That's going to be back. [SPEAKER_15]: I didn't lose power this time. [SPEAKER_15]: We made scores before bed with my kids in the backyard today, so I had more scores than I needed.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, now I'm going to get another follow-up text for my wife who has a little bit of a sweet tooth, but that sounds amazing. [SPEAKER_04]: It is definitely still a small season. [SPEAKER_04]: And Magistrate Vita, how's it going? [SPEAKER_04]: What did you have to eat? [SPEAKER_11]: So just had a bit of roast beef rice and corn.

[SPEAKER_11]: Some cornbread was it. [SPEAKER_11]: That's a whole cook meal. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, hell yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: There we go. [SPEAKER_04]: I love that one. [SPEAKER_04]: And for me, I had chicken teak and masala, which is kind of generous to call it that because I cooked it. [SPEAKER_04]: It was lazy.

[SPEAKER_04]: But that's what I had time to cook. [SPEAKER_04]: So with that, let's get started with the rest of our show. [SPEAKER_04]: If you're listening to this after the fact that you've already read the title, so you already know what we're here to talk about, and it's if you could change one thing about Mass Effect.

[SPEAKER_04]: What would it be? [SPEAKER_04]: And I love that this question is so open-ended because it can be including something. [SPEAKER_04]: It can be taking something away. [SPEAKER_04]: It can be, you know, altering something that's already in the game, or perhaps bringing in something from a different fictional series.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm very happy to see where we take this conversation. [SPEAKER_04]: I will go in backward order now. [SPEAKER_04]: to go ahead and introduce this topic. [SPEAKER_04]: Magister, why don't you go ahead and tell us what you would change about the Mass Effect series. [SPEAKER_10]: Okay, actually only just all the top of goes before I get came on here.

[SPEAKER_10]: So I guess if I were to just pop it off, I would want to change up the romance in the game. [SPEAKER_10]: I would love for it to have the accumulation seen to be earlier on. [SPEAKER_10]: So that it feels like there's more going on to the relationship than just leading out to Wambam. [SPEAKER_10]: Thank you, Mammer Sir.

[SPEAKER_10]: Bam is right, baby. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, that'll be the main thing. [SPEAKER_10]: Like having it, having it more spread out, introducing more layers to it. [SPEAKER_10]: Probably the best thing there, also more variations in there as well. [SPEAKER_04]: I love that answer. [SPEAKER_04]: I know Genesis does too.

[SPEAKER_04]: And now I'm starting to wonder whether you were actually secretly at that panel last night of packs. [SPEAKER_04]: Genesis, I know that you out you wanted the chime in here. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh yeah, for sure. [SPEAKER_08]: And I totally would have noticed if Magister was there. [SPEAKER_08]: There would have been screaming and big hugs all around if that had happened.

[SPEAKER_08]: But I fully agree with that. [SPEAKER_08]: I have always just liked it that in a lot of game series, not only match the fact alone, but the fact that the romance culmination scene happens at the end of the game. [SPEAKER_08]: Um, and it makes it feel like I've played through all of this game.

[SPEAKER_08]: I have fallen in love with the character and my prize at the end is the physical activity. [SPEAKER_08]: It's like this is now. [SPEAKER_08]: Yay, you've completed the romance path. [SPEAKER_08]: Here's your trophy at the end. [SPEAKER_08]: You get to bang. [SPEAKER_08]: Or men always has just felt like a little jilted and not the right timing for it.

[SPEAKER_08]: and the timing aspect is also a big part of it too. [SPEAKER_08]: I find it extremely dangerous to be romancing tally and having the night before the suicide mission is when you just guys decide to test out a theory if she's going to be able to survive or not. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, so the night before the suicide mission, let's see if we can kill you a day early tally, that sounds great.

[SPEAKER_08]: So I have a lot of thoughts about when a physical culmination theme should happen in the course of a video game. [SPEAKER_04]: and you and I have talked about that a lot not just with mass effect because of course I wanted there to be more what you call mundane moments in the two girls one ship podcast more mundane moments of romance where you know you see maybe you and tally are playing cards in the lounge on the ship right that kind of thing that we got a little bit of and the citadel DLC because it was a little bit of fan service okay it was all fan service but you know with pan and cyberpunk [SPEAKER_04]: I don't need to rehash that rant.

[SPEAKER_04]: If you want to hear me go on that rant, go listen to the Pan Am episode of two girls, one chip. [SPEAKER_04]: But I want to open this topic up to the rest of our patrons. [SPEAKER_04]: If you could change the Mass Effect romances to include an earlier quote unquote culmination scene, so that you get more development after that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Would you do it or why are why not? [SPEAKER_04]: And whoever wants to go first can just kind of chime in. [SPEAKER_14]: I think it depends on the person and who you're romantic. [SPEAKER_14]: Like, Halley, yeah, I should have been tried sooner. [SPEAKER_14]: If you like romance Miranda and Amy too, I feel like that would be more of a hate situation.

[SPEAKER_14]: So if you got in the middle, that'd be more like, hey, we don't actually like each other's more like when you get it with Jack early. [SPEAKER_14]: So yeah, I think it just depends on the person. [SPEAKER_14]: That's fair. [SPEAKER_04]: That's more than fair, especially if you're just meeting them, like, you know, it's different if you have Tally and Mass Effect too, because you already had Mass Effect one to develop that friendship Tally.

[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, yeah, I get where you're going from with that. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, what someone else, what do you think about keeping the romance early? [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to bring my buddy Scott into this and his first play through an M.E.T. [SPEAKER_03]: in my parents' basement where he romance Tally.

[SPEAKER_03]: It did not go well for a minute exactly as a genesis. [SPEAKER_03]: It said, so Mr. Scott, please deploy. [SPEAKER_15]: Oh, man, it was fine. [SPEAKER_15]: Like nobody survived the suicide mission, but the mission got done. [SPEAKER_15]: So that's all it mattered, right? [SPEAKER_15]: Mission accomplished.

[SPEAKER_15]: You're a liability to the department. [SPEAKER_15]: Turn in your badge. [SPEAKER_15]: You know, it's that when your friends has played this game, but doesn't warn you about it. [SPEAKER_15]: You think it's his fault. [SPEAKER_15]: So that's what it. [SPEAKER_15]: What do you want me to do?

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I know how that conversation went. [SPEAKER_04]: You got to play this game dude. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_04]: You can bang aliens. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm in. [SPEAKER_15]: I'm in. [SPEAKER_15]: Yeah, I think that's the thing though about like the earlier is like when you get the fun banter than between them.

[SPEAKER_15]: But like, is that playful relationship aspect? [SPEAKER_15]: I think that's one of the best parts when you romance Sally and she doesn't die and you're on the death dread not like in any three and you're like flirting like while you're like boarding the ship is stuff. [SPEAKER_15]: It's hilarious.

[SPEAKER_15]: Like, and so I wish that was part of the earlier romance. [SPEAKER_15]: You know, there's like there can be jokes about it and stuff. [SPEAKER_15]: So, you know, like we make jokes on this podcast about slam and asteroids. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_15]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: So, all right.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think I heard another person who wanted to chime in was it you retro but? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just going to say like in terms of time frame with any universe. [SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of hard because like the games like take place over like a couple months at most. [SPEAKER_02]: So it's sort of hard to fit in like, oh, in two months they developed like a super committed relationship and they're talking about what they're doing after the war and everything like that.

[SPEAKER_04]: And that's a great point. [SPEAKER_04]: That's a great point as well because each of the games that doesn't take, you know, an incredibly long period of time during the game itself. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, Mitch, you want to chime in with something. [SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, what to also bring on to retrobots.

[SPEAKER_13]: I did like you are in a condensed timeframe, but you're also under extreme pressures. [SPEAKER_13]: So like all those feelings get magnified. [SPEAKER_13]: But I fully agree with the idea that the romance is should have been done with more thought in them more drawn out so that we can get more lore out of it, particularly with Koreans and Koreans and the like.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely. [SPEAKER_08]: I think part of what it made it better is if there was more romance interactions [SPEAKER_08]: after that. [SPEAKER_08]: And I know that that night leads directly into the suicide mission and into end game moments. [SPEAKER_08]: But if there was something even in part of the conversations like, Ali, I want you to lead this second team and she comes back with like, [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, you know, like, you know, I'll miss you.

[SPEAKER_08]: Good luck. [SPEAKER_08]: I love you. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm on this. [SPEAKER_08]: Something along those lines. [SPEAKER_08]: Or, you know, I send garrison like the gift garrison. [SPEAKER_08]: I don't want to go lead this second mission. [SPEAKER_08]: I want to be at your side, my love. [SPEAKER_08]: Like something like that that would have added into [SPEAKER_08]: just because this culmination scene happened, there's we're still in a relationship after this, but there's nothing really unless you count the little moment, the silent no dialogue moments you can have after the game ends.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of those. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, fair. [SPEAKER_04]: Karina, I want to toss it over to you. [SPEAKER_04]: What do you think about putting the romance scenes a little bit earlier in the game so you could get more development out of the character afterward? [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, what I'd like to [SPEAKER_09]: by Genesis said to have maybe Roman's interactions in the game.

[SPEAKER_09]: I think the romance is so isolated. [SPEAKER_09]: It's like a part of the story there and then after that, we don't talk about it anymore. [SPEAKER_09]: It doesn't change really. [SPEAKER_09]: decisions that you make or the choices like Genesis said and you talk about mundane moments. [SPEAKER_09]: So you just have to think about the DLC, the party, etc.

[SPEAKER_09]: DLC. [SPEAKER_09]: We liked it all so much because it was full of mundane moments like that. [SPEAKER_09]: It's a party and it's like a normal life. [SPEAKER_09]: So I would have liked to have these little bits of normal life in the Romans. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that would have been a very welcome change and you bring up a great point that the narratives for the romances are a little siloed away from the main story where they really could have woven them into the main story a little better.

[SPEAKER_04]: One of my favorite mods or even ideas theories about how [SPEAKER_04]: how Mass Effect Three goes is if you had the Vermeyer survivor or the person who died on Vermeyer show up as Kylang instead. [SPEAKER_04]: And especially because a lot of you know that one of my favorite styles of playthrough is the tragic romance playthrough with Ashley where [SPEAKER_04]: You romance Ashley, or at least you're trying to, and then she dies on a vermire.

[SPEAKER_04]: So how gut-rinching would that be if you had romance, or if you were going to romance Ashley, if you were going to romance Caden, and then they show up again as this server is zombie right on Thesia. [SPEAKER_04]: It would probably kill you. [SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, I love that, love that point.

[SPEAKER_04]: But let's jump over to the next patron and what they would change about Mass Effect. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to toss it over to you Andrew. [SPEAKER_04]: What is the one thing you would change about Mass Effect that can be including something, mixing something, just changing something that's already there?

[SPEAKER_15]: I think if I could change anything, what I would like to include is, you know, so Shepherd is an officer in the Alliance Military. [SPEAKER_15]: And I wish that some point in the games you could utilize that to like, call and resources and like help you out like I. It's like it's, you know, you get to go help out like different alliance troops.

[SPEAKER_15]: And I know that you're a specter and an end seven. [SPEAKER_15]: So you're supposed to be able to take care of everything on your own. [SPEAKER_15]: But I think it'd be really cool if Hackett would give you something and be like one time. [SPEAKER_15]: you can call and support one time and then you as the player could like make that determination in game like I need some fighters or a frigate or something else to get someone off of you and I think you know we're in this huge military apparatus and we're not like super far up the chain but we're not super far down the chain we're kind of in a good middle spot like [SPEAKER_15]: isn't we be able to call in some kind of resources or utilize networks and different things beyond just here's a ship here's a few soldiers and we'll see it when we see it like I think I would like to add that into the game.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, even if it's just close air support from the Normandy, right? [SPEAKER_04]: Or Cortez being able to do it on command. [SPEAKER_04]: And I see where you're saying not just something that's baked into the narrative as like it always happens at this point kind of thing, but rather something more like a kill streak in Call of Duty, right?

[SPEAKER_04]: Where you just kind of activate it and it happens. [SPEAKER_04]: So that's a really cool idea about and it being a one time use [SPEAKER_04]: and then it's gone. [SPEAKER_04]: So you can really strategize your playthroughs that way. [SPEAKER_04]: And it would have been, and just add on to that, be probably pretty cool to unlock further ones, the more war assets you unlock.

[SPEAKER_04]: That would have been cool. [SPEAKER_04]: But I want to open this up, Genesis, I think you had something that you wanted to chime in about with this. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: So unfortunately, I also know the way that you and I play and we would hold on to that asset in that resource and then get all the way to the end of the game and then they're going to be like, no, you can't call in reinforcements to fight sovereign.

[SPEAKER_08]: We're already here and then we're like, damn it. [SPEAKER_08]: We went the whole game saving it for the big boss and we didn't get to use it. [SPEAKER_04]: or counterpoint it allows you to call in everything at once and then you punish your CPU. [SPEAKER_04]: That would be fun. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, yeah, let's set the computers on fire.

[SPEAKER_08]: That'd be fun. [SPEAKER_04]: Freyright, drops to two. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, let's open it up. [SPEAKER_04]: What else, what other thoughts are you guys having about being able to kind of call in different assistance from the alliance at different points throughout the game? [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know how many guys have paid on legendary mode, or if everyone has, but I know the heart of the difficulty of the herd is to find ammunition.

[SPEAKER_03]: So being able to call in, like a supply drop or something like that, like he said, Call of Duty, Star would be a game changer on the harder difficulties. [SPEAKER_03]: So I like this idea a lot. [SPEAKER_03]: I totally get down for adding something like a supply drop or something like that because there's been times where I'm down to just my pistol and which [SPEAKER_03]: is doing absolutely nothing.

[SPEAKER_03]: He has these big enemies. [SPEAKER_03]: So spy drop will be epic. [SPEAKER_04]: Right on. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I was thinking about air support. [SPEAKER_04]: You bring in supply drop and there's tons of other different support things that you could use with this kind of ability.

[SPEAKER_04]: Anyone else have thoughts on this particular change to the Mass Effect series? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was just fixing the whole time like the James coming down and like a drop shit with like a bunch of like a wise Marines just out nowhere. [SPEAKER_02]: And then I'm just coming in like big machine guns aspiring everywhere.

[SPEAKER_04]: That'd be dope. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, then they bounce. [SPEAKER_14]: So long those lines as we say if you have [SPEAKER_14]: Perfect war assets like you max out the war assets for the in mission. [SPEAKER_14]: Just a halo Spartan drop in the last last little bit. [SPEAKER_14]: Throw that in.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Or artillery. [SPEAKER_04]: Now it's cool during the final earth push right. [SPEAKER_14]: Little minute little fallout. [SPEAKER_14]: Many nukes. [SPEAKER_04]: Just call over your com. [SPEAKER_04]: Joker bring in the shotgun all. [SPEAKER_08]: You know, as soon as you said, calling in James as the reinforcement, it then put into my mind of being able to, again, a one shot of being able to call upon each of the squaddies for a quick backup support at any point.

[SPEAKER_08]: You know, maybe you haven't taken ZIE doubt on this mission, but you just want the extra firepower and be like, hey, ZIE, can you support in this moment and then you see him dropping from, you know, a secondary ship or something along those lines or [SPEAKER_08]: calling in topic for a little bit of backup in three.

[SPEAKER_08]: Uh, I think that would be really cool. [SPEAKER_08]: Each squad me could call it could be called in for backup. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm imagining like when they enter into the game right after you've called them in each of them have like an anime Japanese fighter game like intro. [SPEAKER_04]: Like as soon as they come in.

[SPEAKER_04]: There's nothing. [SPEAKER_04]: Every amazing. [SPEAKER_08]: No, the music playing WWE style. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god. [SPEAKER_08]: Coming down the ramp. [SPEAKER_04]: Crogan air drop. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: There we go. [SPEAKER_04]: That'd be dope. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, anyone else?

[SPEAKER_04]: All right, seeing no objections. [SPEAKER_04]: Let's jump over to you big bills. [SPEAKER_04]: What would you change about the Mass Effect series? [SPEAKER_04]: Be it include something, take something away, change it. [SPEAKER_14]: Mass Effect three getting rid of the heavy weapons and then not giving me enough heavy weapon ammo for the little mini new gun and it made to like you if you get all the heavy weapon ammo you get what three shots of that gun the entire game for maybe like I want to use that every mission at least twice [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, there's some side missions, at least one side mission where it's kind of like necessary to max it out.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm thinking of the e-mailer, mex, where you got to save all the boxes and the packages. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think that you can finish that and save all the crates without using the cane. [SPEAKER_14]: Oh, I have to. [SPEAKER_04]: I have to. [SPEAKER_14]: I have to use the cane. [SPEAKER_14]: That or just give me the BFG from Doom.

[SPEAKER_14]: One of the two either give me a MMO or give me an element of BFG and I'm good. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, I am in full agreement there. [SPEAKER_04]: More cane shots. [SPEAKER_04]: I need more cane. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: What does everyone else think about, including more heavy weapon ammo in Mass Effect II?

[SPEAKER_13]: That seems like a, like a no brainer. [SPEAKER_13]: It's almost like how did that, like such a strict limit get through quality control? [SPEAKER_13]: I mean, I understand challenge versus, but if I don't do it just right, I don't think it doesn't work. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it does kind of seem like one of those things that, you know, that they should have pushed back on whoever was arguing for balance and just said, look, we gotta go with the rule of cool here.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is, you know, if someone wants to lean on this to make their playthrough a little easier, [SPEAKER_04]: by God, let them. [SPEAKER_04]: Like it doesn't, you know, it's not like we're trying to make a fromsoft game here. [SPEAKER_04]: So, all right, anyone else on the extra heavy weapon ammo in, in, in, in, massfic to or maybe you're cool with the way that it was.

[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I was the real with a wheel. [SPEAKER_09]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_09]: Is it wheel? [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, I agree. [SPEAKER_04]: We're at your bottom. [SPEAKER_04]: Look like you wanted to say something. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was just saying like maybe it could be [SPEAKER_02]: And unlockable skill on one of the skill trees that you could sacrifice heat clips from like your main weapon to be used for your heavy weapon.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like if you're like playing as a soldier, you could sack you know how to Jerry raid your heat clips to go with your like heavy weapon or whatever. [SPEAKER_02]: So you can use your heavy weapon more, but you're sacrificing rounds from your main weapon. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that could be cool, especially if it was like some kind of research unlock through Morton's terminal over there, maybe like a clip compiler or something like that.

[SPEAKER_04]: That or if it's an attachment on your or a specific bonus to a set of armor, that'd be cool. [SPEAKER_04]: Love that. [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like that bonus would be good for the terminus set, terminus armor, which just looks so amazing. [SPEAKER_04]: Every playthrough. [SPEAKER_04]: Love the terminus armor.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right, anyone else have thoughts on this one? [SPEAKER_04]: All right, let's go over to you, Retrobot. [SPEAKER_04]: And I want to hear what you would change about these series. [SPEAKER_02]: So I'd probably, I don't know, like rework or just completely remove Medagell because I feel like it's just like, we have a series that explains basically everything, but then they're like, this is Medagell.

[SPEAKER_02]: It exists. [SPEAKER_02]: It works. [SPEAKER_02]: That's about it. [SPEAKER_02]: They're like, it's a gel. [SPEAKER_02]: But it's also, it's also, it's also a clotting agent. [SPEAKER_04]: It is, it is kind of a catch-all. [SPEAKER_04]: However, there is a considerable amount of lore behind a manager.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I do have to get the developers credit there. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like so over the place though. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, it's just crazy if all they can and can't do. [SPEAKER_02]: Like it seals against infections, but like that doesn't make sense. [SPEAKER_02]: If they get shot in the first place, that infections are going to be there.

[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not going to stop anything. [SPEAKER_02]: Then they're like, oh, a specialized train, they can use it to treat poison or whatever. [SPEAKER_02]: That's weird. [SPEAKER_02]: Then like there's characters that imply that you can overdose on it, which is weird, which is unlike, is there people, are there betraying somewhere or abusing metadata to get high?

[SPEAKER_02]: Like, are they tail holing themselves with a manager? [SPEAKER_02]: Like, what's going on with that? [SPEAKER_04]: I would be the battarians too because they can't get access to any other drugs. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they're the alcoholic battarians are like taking swigs off of the isopropyl and the in the mouthwash.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's where the battarians are are at. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: I like that. [SPEAKER_04]: I like that criticism of metagel being just simply too overpowered and too much of a [SPEAKER_04]: solves all, you know. [SPEAKER_04]: What is everyone else think about Medegel? [SPEAKER_04]: Would you be cool with taking it out of the game or just replacing it entirely?

[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_08]: I've been gaming for so long that walking by a first aid kit heals all my wounds that I'm pretty used to the fact that Medegil is just going to cure everything. [SPEAKER_08]: Fair. [SPEAKER_14]: I'd say the tens of your difficulty level. [SPEAKER_04]: That's a great point.

[SPEAKER_14]: I would say like if you're like one of the, you know, the two lower difficulties, let Medegil do its thing. [SPEAKER_14]: If you're like [SPEAKER_14]: The third difficulty, like making it a little more challenging. [SPEAKER_14]: If you were on legendary, Medigil doesn't exist. [SPEAKER_14]: Good luck.

[SPEAKER_14]: Get shot in the, like, did anyone ever play the original operation flashpoint on the computer back in the day? [SPEAKER_14]: So in that game, if you got shot in the leg and your medic was dead, you had to crawl the whole rest of the mission. [SPEAKER_04]: This reminds me of a game called Daisy.

[SPEAKER_04]: I will not go on a tangent about this one, but if you get shot in the leg with a high enough caliber, your leg breaks. [SPEAKER_04]: And then there's no medical fix fixes all. [SPEAKER_04]: You got to brace your leg, you know, bandage your cuts. [SPEAKER_04]: that kind of thing is very technical.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now, where I thought you were going with the difficulty link to that, I thought you were actually going to say the opposite. [SPEAKER_04]: I thought you were going to say that on easier level difficulties, there is none. [SPEAKER_04]: There is no manager because they already do low damage to you.

[SPEAKER_04]: So you could just take cover until you regain health. [SPEAKER_04]: Whereas on the higher level difficulties, you would kind of need that little handicap there to make it bearable. [SPEAKER_14]: with the magic is be a massacist. [SPEAKER_04]: Fair enough. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't think anyone's playing insanity and thinking this isn't fair.

[SPEAKER_04]: Good point. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: Anyone else have thoughts on the meta gel? [SPEAKER_03]: I was going to go along the same lines of, you know, handicap them and they don't take it out entirely when you get to harder difficulties, but, you know, handicap it when you get to the harder it goes like, oh, instead of getting full health back, you only get maybe two or three bars of health back with a mental health application.

[SPEAKER_03]: So you're using more of it to get more health back. [SPEAKER_03]: So you still have it, but it's not a catch all like it wasn't a lower difficulty or what it is right now. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that was something that would make legendary still palatable, but also more challenging. [SPEAKER_04]: You guys want to hear something a little bit embarrassing.

[SPEAKER_04]: It took until like last year for me to realize that Mass Effect II had met a gel that could heal you in it. [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I'm not joking with you. [SPEAKER_04]: I thought the unity was only if a squad mate fell. [SPEAKER_04]: Like, if a squad mate got knocked out, that's when you used unity in the meta-jell.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because, and I wasn't using it besides that. [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, damn, this game is hard. [SPEAKER_04]: Like, why is this game so much harder than all the rest? [SPEAKER_04]: And then, like, eventually, I just hit it. [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like, oh, that healed me. [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_04]: I've been playing this game for over ten years. [SPEAKER_04]: Didn't know that. [SPEAKER_03]: It makes it feel better. [SPEAKER_03]: I thought the same thing the legendary came up. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't really figure it out. [SPEAKER_13]: Well, and you do create it.

[SPEAKER_13]: It's because they use between one and two, unity was your revive and then metagirl was separate. [SPEAKER_13]: And then two, they just threw them both together in the called unity. [SPEAKER_13]: And it's like, so does it, what does it do? [SPEAKER_13]: Just, does, does both. [SPEAKER_13]: That's not very clear.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and in Mass Effect II in the Power Wheel, they had the whole thing where they would kind of cross out and make something red if it didn't fit the situation you were in. [SPEAKER_04]: But that isn't always foolproof, I've noticed. [SPEAKER_04]: Like sometimes there are powers you can still use and they will have an effect.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's just that they're not ideal for that situation. [SPEAKER_04]: So I noticed the unity is often crossed out, right? [SPEAKER_04]: If everyone's still standing. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: But I'm dying. [SPEAKER_04]: Does that matter? [SPEAKER_04]: No. [SPEAKER_04]: You're fine.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I'll tell you what, guys. [SPEAKER_04]: We got to get over to the mid-break. [SPEAKER_04]: And thank you. [SPEAKER_04]: And then we will come back and hear the rest of the patrons. [SPEAKER_04]: And what they would change about the Mass Effect series. [SPEAKER_04]: So let's go.

[SPEAKER_00]: We have beef, bacon, we have beer, the foods of my people. [SPEAKER_01]: Young men have funny ideas of what a story are like. [SPEAKER_01]: I blame the extra net and computer games. [SPEAKER_14]: Rex, Shepherd, Grant, Shepherd, Rex. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, and here we are in the middle of the show where we read out your five star reviews that you've left us on Apple podcasts, audible, any podcast or you listen to or Spotify and speaking of Spotify.

[SPEAKER_04]: Genesis, it looks like we got a brand new comment from someone on Spotify in our most recent episode, from Jebany Jebinho. [SPEAKER_04]: I hope I'm saying that name correctly. [SPEAKER_04]: Please forgive me if I'm not. [SPEAKER_04]: It says, Hey guys, been listening from day one and have never been able to comment.

[SPEAKER_04]: You got me into the games. [SPEAKER_04]: Never would have met Tally if not for you. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my gosh, Genesis, we got someone into these games. [SPEAKER_08]: Wow, okay, so I mean, that's, that's very interesting to pick up a Mass Effect lore cast and know nothing about the games even and to be playing it.

[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, they probably were a fan of Tom's other shows, heard him talking about it, and then found the lore cast through that. [SPEAKER_04]: now we have brought another another hand touches the beacon one of us one of us one of us all right well thank you so much for the kind words I'm so glad that you've joined our sci-fi RPG video game cult [SPEAKER_04]: And that is a reminder for everyone else that you can leave comments on Spotify episodes now and we always love to read those even if we're not reading them out here in the middle of the show.

[SPEAKER_04]: Genesis, I did not check Patreon today, but are you aware of? [SPEAKER_04]: I believe we do have one new patron. [SPEAKER_04]: We have two. [SPEAKER_04]: So I saw James is one of our new patrons. [SPEAKER_04]: So thank you to James and to where the other ones or other one they mentioned.

[SPEAKER_08]: Uh, I saw Hoster not our space person that commented a couple of weeks ago or left a review a couple of weeks ago and a gust is gloop. [SPEAKER_04]: Augustus gloop. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my word. [SPEAKER_04]: The Augustus gloop. [SPEAKER_08]: I think so. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: I just.

[SPEAKER_04]: I like him behind your chocolate. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, thank you to our new patrons as well. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you to our tier five patrons. [SPEAKER_04]: Actually, you know what, I was do the shout outs. [SPEAKER_04]: You want to do the shout out this time, Genesis?

[SPEAKER_08]: I can do that for sure. [SPEAKER_08]: We have butts, butts, butts. [SPEAKER_08]: Todayga, unfortunate benefactor, William, superfly, four, forty, retro, but lieutenant, casino, kerosy, and et boy. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: So, with that, let's get back to the rest of the show.

[SPEAKER_06]: After time and drift among open stars, alongside the light and through shows of dust, I will return to where I began. [SPEAKER_07]: Celery and reproduction different, very little sex drive. [SPEAKER_07]: If intended to try human, would try you. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, here we are in the second half of the show and I see that day zero and Chad here has said if I could change one thing, it would be making adept viable read fun on insanity and fast-fact two.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, adept is rough in mass-fact two, but you know what else is rough going from Vanguard and Mass-fact one to Sentinel in Mass-fact two. [SPEAKER_04]: Those are not at all the same play style. [SPEAKER_04]: And if you try to play Sentinel like a Vanguard, you're gonna get your teeth kicked in.

[SPEAKER_04]: I learned that the hard way. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: So, what do we go over to Jeff? [SPEAKER_04]: What was your thing that you wanted to change about Mass Effect? [SPEAKER_03]: First of all, I'd like to say the name but buts buts makes me laugh every time I hear it. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, sad that though.

[SPEAKER_03]: The one thing I would change about, at least they original trilogy would be the combat style. [SPEAKER_03]: As you probably hear from the last patron chat we did, I do like in drama. [SPEAKER_03]: The thing I like most about in drama is the combat style. [SPEAKER_03]: Being able to jump, first of all, and just being, you know, it's not a cover style system like, [SPEAKER_03]: The original trilogy was or or gear to war is or anything like that, you know, you're able to move around and jump around and and not just hide in one place and shoot from cover and then pop out shoot hide pop to you know, it's not it's not so fills one dimensional I guess is where I'm going with that.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, yeah, the gears of war cover shooter style combat has not exactly aged well. [SPEAKER_04]: It was so invoked there for a while, but now when you go back and play the games, especially I imagine if you didn't play Mass Effect until after two thousand fifteen, I bet that you probably found the combat to be pretty tiresome.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's open that up for discussion, you know, Mass Effect combat, do you believe it's aged well or do you think that if you could change one thing like Jeff says would you change it to be a little bit more like in drama? [SPEAKER_08]: I think the jumping aspect of it definitely I was I kept hitting the spacebar when I was first playing it trying to figure out why shepherd wouldn't jump or like move around and go over the little hedges and ledges and whatnot.

[SPEAKER_08]: So that was really really difficult to get used to playing an older game. [SPEAKER_08]: I could also see how putting the endrometer combat style of switching things up so constantly wouldn't have really fit the character of shepherd. [SPEAKER_08]: With writer, I feel like they're a little bit more fluid.

[SPEAKER_08]: They can definitely do a lot more when it comes to the combat aspects of changing things. [SPEAKER_08]: But Shepherd was already established in the military and therefore has like their quote play style or their lifestyle the way that they have their combat. [SPEAKER_08]: But yes, I definitely missed being able to jump over things.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, it's quite something going back to Mass Effect one, right after having not played it for a while. [SPEAKER_04]: You are like on a fixed track, basically, you're almost like two-dimensional. [SPEAKER_04]: But, all right, what are some other thoughts about the Mass Effect combat style?

[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, I just need an in-law reason as to why Shepherd doesn't have a jump pack, like writer doesn't and drama that you're in in seven, you should have a jump pack. [SPEAKER_14]: But that's what I need. [SPEAKER_04]: Fair at least one when you're traversing planets, right? [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: I agree. [SPEAKER_04]: Unchartered worlds would have been a lot better with the jump pack. [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe we'll get one. [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe we'll get one the next game. [SPEAKER_04]: Andrew, I saw that you unmuted. [SPEAKER_04]: Did you want to comment here on the original trilogy combat?

[SPEAKER_15]: Yeah, I think my biggest frustration with the original trilogy, the combat, the thing that could be good to like add into it would be better mainly like I feel like the melee was always like so frustrating and so in and drama, I really love like not only [SPEAKER_15]: The you the ability of melee, but I think also the customization of melee with the different weapons and you can add things to the weapons and stuff like that.

[SPEAKER_15]: I don't use an angel stress. [SPEAKER_15]: So like I think. [SPEAKER_15]: Like that was something that I do like, yeah, I wish melee was more effective. [SPEAKER_15]: Like, you know, like, Bill was just saying about like shepherd having a jump pack because he's been in seven. [SPEAKER_15]: I'm like, he's an in seven.

[SPEAKER_15]: He's, he punches someone. [SPEAKER_15]: It should like hurt, you know, and instead of just like, I mean, you get the, the almond on the blade, I guess, a little bit to kill Kyling, but like otherwise, you know, like nothing. [SPEAKER_15]: So. [SPEAKER_04]: Sure, I mean, if you're a Vanguard, you kind of have like a superhero punch that you can like launch people with, but I get your point.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it should, the melee was very one-dimensional and it did feel a little bit like an afterthought. [SPEAKER_04]: So that would have been cool to kind of revamp there as well. [SPEAKER_04]: What's something else that you guys would change about combat? [SPEAKER_04]: I think for me, I would have to agree with Jeff that the cover based system is just, I'm not a huge fan.

[SPEAKER_10]: I think certainly from my mindset will be having the [SPEAKER_10]: was a term, just the effect of your ability showing them much more. [SPEAKER_10]: Like if you're a soldier having that shield really power up, if you're a techie, seeing the orange glyphs and everything can pop up a lot more.

[SPEAKER_10]: Or if you're the biotic, having seeing the vocals around you, that much more, whatever you're doing, whatever technique you're doing, or like you're saying, that's super punch that you could do with a VAM guard. [SPEAKER_10]: I just feel like it felt [SPEAKER_10]: Well, it was a limitation at this time, of course, but just being able to see those effects of your abilities would have been that much more interesting to it.

[SPEAKER_10]: I don't mind the combat, but I just felt like Shepard didn't feel as powerful as they should have in a lot of times. [SPEAKER_04]: You know how dope it would be to have [SPEAKER_04]: like let's say that you were an adept or some other biotic class to have like biotic finish or moves on opponents who were like days or something like that.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm thinking about combat, something along lines of like Jedi fall and order Jedi survivor where you can have those finish or moves if they were stunned or if they were, you know, incapacitated in some regard. [SPEAKER_04]: And to be able to have some of those sweet choreographed animations with biotics or maybe tech or something like that, that'd be pretty cool, right?

[SPEAKER_10]: Absolutely, that's definitely what I'm more so referring to, just show me that step, especially toward late game, show me that step or is the person who could hold off a whole material blitz by themselves, not just throwing a singularity in there. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, show me John Wick Shepherd.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't have an amazing, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, they did do a little bit of a with that, but in cutscenes with squadmates, like famed. [SPEAKER_04]: And so, [SPEAKER_04]: knowing a little bit about what went on behind the curtain during the OT production. [SPEAKER_04]: I can almost say with certainty that this didn't make the cut because there was a limited budget and that would have meant a lot more work for the cinematic design team.

[SPEAKER_04]: Introducing these new custom tailored animations for that kind of thing. [SPEAKER_04]: Although maybe we could see something like that in the next Mass Effect. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, any of the thoughts on the combat of the original trilogy and changing it? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'd say we, they should add like some sort of stealth system.

[SPEAKER_02]: Like they gave you the silence pistol and the DLC and three for the, no, Citadel DLC, which was really cool. [SPEAKER_02]: But I feel like, especially depending on your playstyle, you may prefer to take a lot more fights at like a slower pace while like methodically, [SPEAKER_02]: Hicking off the bad guys or whatever.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it did kind of raise the question of why. [SPEAKER_04]: Why do we have a suppressed pistol even though that thing punches hard? [SPEAKER_04]: The M-Eleven. [SPEAKER_04]: That is I want to say like the highest DPS pistol on the game. [SPEAKER_04]: I love it though. [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Let's jump over to you, Mitch. [SPEAKER_04]: What would you change about the series if you could change one thing? [SPEAKER_13]: Okay, so this is going to be a little bit of cheat, but it would be rewriting the entire story of prospectu. [SPEAKER_04]: Whoa, okay. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so I know that you know that I agree with you here because we've talked about how it's a narrative departure, but why don't you give everyone else your explanation.

[SPEAKER_13]: Okay, so outside of the narrative departure of Shepherd having to go work for the bad guys, which doesn't make a sense. [SPEAKER_13]: There's also to me, the collectors, they don't make any sense within the plot structure of the reapers. [SPEAKER_13]: Just why does sovereign do all the things he doesn't want?

[SPEAKER_13]: And he's got this army of high tech drones that he can throw away. [SPEAKER_13]: waiting in the wings, doesn't make any sense. [SPEAKER_13]: So for me, what I would do is I would focus, make two more about bringing the galaxy together. [SPEAKER_13]: Either doing one of the big missions in three as the game, or making it more about the deterrence, either having to try to bring them in and having that fail somehow, which could lead us right into three as it was, or [SPEAKER_13]: or something, you know, your paragraph could be bringing the galaxy together at the expense of shepherd's reputation with the alliance, whereas Renegade, more earth-centric, you know, that the system's alliance is all powerful now at the expense of the council.

[SPEAKER_13]: Just that, something like that, that's what I would say to could have been, should have been. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so I've taken a heat before, too, because I've said that in terms of story, Mass Effect II was my least favorite of the original trilogy, and I'm seeing Genesis over here, when's in presumably pain?

[SPEAKER_04]: Jen, do you ever comment here? [SPEAKER_08]: So the actual physical wencing of pain is because I have glitter in my eye and so that's where that's coming from but there is also physical pain in the eye. [SPEAKER_08]: Love my dirty dozen so much and so if you're changing like the entire storyline, does that get rid of any of the characters that I hold so dear?

[SPEAKER_08]: And so I wouldn't want that aspect of it, but I also know that that's also what a lot of people don't like about Mass Effect too is that there's too many damn squadmates and so it makes it difficult to pick and choose who to take out on missions. [SPEAKER_08]: And it feels like the entire game is all about gathering these squadmates and doing their loyalty missions.

[SPEAKER_08]: And then, oh yeah, now we have to go fight these collectors. [SPEAKER_08]: So I get that. [SPEAKER_08]: I really, really do. [SPEAKER_08]: I just love my squaddies way too much to ever want to have them leave in any way, shit, perform. [SPEAKER_04]: And that's kind of the thing, right? [SPEAKER_04]: The ensemble is the story of Mass Effect II.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is the story of in glorious Bosch Tits. [SPEAKER_04]: Because that's like without the recruitment missions, without the loyalty missions, how many missions are there? [SPEAKER_04]: Like four, five. [SPEAKER_04]: If that, we've got the very beginning, freedoms progress. [SPEAKER_04]: We've got [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think there's like four or five the IFF mission.

[SPEAKER_04]: The yep. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: horizon and maybe a couple little drop in planets every once in a while, but yeah, there's really not a whole lot that happens. [SPEAKER_08]: It's not specifically squat made related. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: Now, I know that our patrons here have thoughts on this.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to open it up and please don't try to rip out mine or Mitch's throat immediately. [SPEAKER_04]: But what are you guys thinking about this, you know, that mass effect to story would just be rewritten entirely? [SPEAKER_03]: I agree actually. [SPEAKER_03]: As far as story guys is definitely weakest of them back to there's almost no story to like you guys have kind of alluded to, but [SPEAKER_03]: The real treasure of Mass Effect II is in the story.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's the character element, the combat style. [SPEAKER_03]: It's all those other things that make Mass Effect great, that the story is certainly lacking in that's, and that's definitely something that I would want to see change is having something a little more robust, something with a little more heft to it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: Karina, how about you, which one was your least favorite of the original trilogy? [SPEAKER_09]: Well, I think it's the first one, just because it's the oldest and they come back, I didn't like. [SPEAKER_09]: I'm not talking a lot because I think that my idea is gonna [SPEAKER_09]: Well, you're on the center when you're gonna hear it, but, um, oh, okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm tempted now. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not gonna, I want you to save it, so I'm not gonna press you on that. [SPEAKER_04]: Um, but yeah, a massfic to, uh, if you took out everything else, it's basically just, [SPEAKER_04]: talking about the collectors where they are this smaller threat than the Reapers, because they're a henchman of the Reapers, whereas kind of like in Mass Effect One, we were interfacing directly with sovereign, and the culmination of it was against sovereign.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I get where you're coming from, Mitch, I'm gonna be devil's advocate against myself here, and I'm gonna say that we should keep in mind that they pumped out Mass Effect Two in two years. [SPEAKER_04]: two years. [SPEAKER_04]: Massfiged one came on in two thousand seven. [SPEAKER_04]: Massfiged two came out in two thousand nine.

[SPEAKER_04]: How long has it been eight years since in drama? [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, I think that they probably may have gone for something wider. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you could have still done the ensemble thing with an even bigger story. [SPEAKER_04]: Think about like Baldur's Gate three length. [SPEAKER_04]: If they had been given the same amount of time and resources maybe.

[SPEAKER_04]: So who knows, but I wouldn't hear from one of you does anyone hear think that Mass Effect Tuesday's find does not need to be rewritten at all? [SPEAKER_04]: Retrobot. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'd argue personally that any Tuesday's plot is like pivotal to set up Mass Effect three. [SPEAKER_02]: Because it gives Shepherd the experience going around the whole galaxy meeting all the counts of races that he needs the pre-established relations.

[SPEAKER_02]: Because at Mass Effect three is all about your pre-established relationships from the previous games and how do you use those to get more war assets for the war in general. [SPEAKER_02]: So personally, Mass Effect two is my favorite. [SPEAKER_02]: Some kind of vibes that wouldn't, but like I feel like it's necessary [SPEAKER_02]: for the game to be structured that way if you kind of jump in all over the place and you know bunch of different people just because it really sets up.

[SPEAKER_02]: We all have to work together for mass attack three. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, I hear what you're saying that there's so much world building that happens in Mass Effect too, that although I can kind of dismiss it as, okay, this is just a recruitment mission. [SPEAKER_04]: This is just a loyalty mission.

[SPEAKER_04]: How much do we learn about the genophage, something far bigger than a recruitment or loyalty mission from Morton's missions alone, or from Grunt's missions too? [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, I get where you're coming from with that, that I might be missing the trees for the forest. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, well, let's jump, let's jump forward because I really want to hear Karina's idea on what you would change for the Mass Effect series.

[SPEAKER_09]: Okay, I have a lot of pressure right now. [SPEAKER_09]: So, you know, Red Trobuff talked about Medellio. [SPEAKER_09]: And I agreed because there's gotta be rules. [SPEAKER_09]: It cannot be that easy. [SPEAKER_09]: It's not interesting when you have something that solves everything. [SPEAKER_09]: Okay, so there might be something in my blind spot here, but I'm going to say it.

[SPEAKER_09]: Why does Shepherd have to be a specter? [SPEAKER_09]: I feel like that [SPEAKER_09]: status makes his relationships a bit too easy. [SPEAKER_09]: He earns the trust of other species too quickly, just because of his title. [SPEAKER_09]: And maybe instead of being the face of the operation, he could work more from the shadows.

[SPEAKER_09]: acting as like this strategist behind the scenes. [SPEAKER_09]: He could recruit individuals from other species to represent the cause to their own people. [SPEAKER_09]: That would maybe introduce more challenges to Shepherd as a human and make the journey feel more earned. [SPEAKER_09]: Maybe.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: I see where you're going to that because it is over and over again that that shepherd walks into a situation and is like, I'm a specter. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm Mr. Cool guy. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_09]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: So, and it's convenient, narratively, it's convenient, like you said, because all of a sudden, now Shepherd has access.

[SPEAKER_04]: But it allows, I think I get where you're going with that. [SPEAKER_04]: It allows the player to not have to think about it, to not have to think about different ways around a barrier, different ways around a problem. [SPEAKER_04]: So, that's a really cool idea about what if you could play through the Mass Effect trilogy [SPEAKER_04]: not as a specter.

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, and I realize it would be maybe more political that way. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: You'd have to you'd have to make these backroom dealings. [SPEAKER_04]: You'd have to be a little bit of a power broker. [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, maybe in this in this version, you would have to deal with the shadow broker more.

[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: So that's cool. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: I want to hear what people think about this one, non-spector shepherd, Jen. [SPEAKER_04]: I see that you're nodding your head. [SPEAKER_08]: So I've never played it this way, but I know that in Mass Effect II you can reject becoming a specter again, and you don't get reinstated.

[SPEAKER_08]: And so I don't know if that actually changes anything narrative-wise if you do not return to your specter status. [SPEAKER_08]: So that would be interesting to see how that part plays out. [SPEAKER_08]: And I think it would definitely be interesting to figure out what relationships you could create, what how things would be differently if you weren't given this high title right out the gate.

[SPEAKER_08]: You know, being an N seven, I understand that that kind of needs to be there. [SPEAKER_08]: You need to have some military or some physical reason that you are being selected, that you are like the one who's out there fighting these reapers. [SPEAKER_08]: are growing on these missions. [SPEAKER_08]: We begin with, but the specter status opens up a lot of doors that not other people would have access to.

[SPEAKER_08]: So it's interesting. [SPEAKER_04]: It's a really fascinating point. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_13]: If I may, I feel like the specter status provides the player with the shield of, well, okay, now I don't have to feel bad about, oh, wiping out a room of scientists. [SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, they were trying to kill me, but I killed them back, but I don't have to worry about investigation.

[SPEAKER_13]: I don't have to worry about court marshaling. [SPEAKER_13]: I don't worry about charges and murder or any of that stuff. [SPEAKER_13]: I'm a specter. [SPEAKER_13]: I'm above the wall. [SPEAKER_13]: I feel like that's just the, [SPEAKER_13]: It's the easy game way out of how to worry about some of those smaller morality problems.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: It serves its purpose, one hundred percent. [SPEAKER_04]: I do now I'm thinking about like, what if you were such a paragon shepherd that you could have the choice of, you know what? [SPEAKER_04]: Keep your specter status. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want it. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to be some unaccountable judge jury and executioner.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want that power. [SPEAKER_04]: In the words of someone, one of my favorite characters from a certain fantasy series, I don't want, uh, and five points to anyone that got that reference. [SPEAKER_04]: Mokuin. [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so, you know, one of you are such a paragon that you could reject it and then make the game harder on yourself.

[SPEAKER_04]: That would be a little bit of a D&D movement. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: Anyone else have thoughts about, you know, non-spector shepherd? [SPEAKER_15]: you know extrapolating on that it would make the beginning of massive fact three make a lot more sense like why are you in the break and it's like bro I killed a lot of people and they've really got to clean up after me and so I am like lame though like instead of just like maybe I blew up the box system maybe I didn't because I didn't know that mission existed why are you and Jill man I fucked up for real [SPEAKER_04]: That's going to execute me for sure.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't have any diplomatic community here. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that'd be kind of funny. [SPEAKER_04]: The hilarious retro, but what I saw the gear is turning in your head here. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so like I have a couple of thoughts about it. [SPEAKER_02]: Like for one, like we don't meet that many spectres in the game really.

[SPEAKER_02]: So like being a specter is like [SPEAKER_02]: kind of too broad and you end up defining what it means to be a specter, so you end up just justifying anything you do is like, oh, a speck of a do this. [SPEAKER_02]: But you don't really know because you like, maybe two or three other specters in your entire time against the game.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying like, in our modern notes, it's like the E form of it that are getting shit done. [SPEAKER_02]: It's our lower and listed guys for out there actually like [SPEAKER_02]: getting everything done. [SPEAKER_02]: So like I don't necessarily agree with Shepherd being elevated to some level or being an officer or some specter.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's in charge of people all that because it's really dense as the guys are on the ground or gain everything done. [SPEAKER_04]: right and yeah I kind of I kind of agree there just a small point that the specter status is like an entirely separate rank system where they're like they don't even have a hierarchy it's just like a straight line between specter and council and then [SPEAKER_04]: At the same time, Shepherd is inhabiting this second rank structure within the Alliance.

[SPEAKER_04]: So I think that that might explain a little bit of why Shepherd can still be held accountable by the Alliance for their actions in Mass Effect II. [SPEAKER_04]: That's why they end up in the jail in Mass Effect III. [SPEAKER_04]: Because although the Council might not hold them accountable, they still have to play by Alliance rules too.

[SPEAKER_04]: Even if they were back from the dead. [SPEAKER_04]: So there's a lot of things that get kind of hand-away-ve justifications because Shepherd came back from the dead as well. [SPEAKER_04]: But Magister, I know from our previous conversations that you have a lot of strong thoughts about story elements that are integral to Mass Effect.

[SPEAKER_04]: SpecterStat is definitely being one of them. [SPEAKER_04]: What do you think about this idea where you don't have to be a specter? [SPEAKER_10]: I think it's fascinating. [SPEAKER_10]: I think it would be cool to see Shepherd lean more on his N seven side of things if you don't become the specter of the sort of little race at the beginning of Mass Effect one or in Mass Effect two, having the [SPEAKER_10]: ability to really dive into Cerberus.

[SPEAKER_10]: We were kind of our own cell when it comes to that, but it had been interesting, instead of reaching out to the Citadel, [SPEAKER_10]: reach out to different cells in the server's organization. [SPEAKER_10]: That way, you get to see the full side of things, not just like, okay, I'm part of the server's, but it's only a needs for a must right now.

[SPEAKER_10]: I'm so doing my own thing here, but it's been more cool to see like, okay, well, let's see more of the side of what these different programs are doing. [SPEAKER_10]: Maybe even brushing across a capsule and not realizing that your code is sitting inside of it. [SPEAKER_10]: Seeing those different story beats, I think would have been a very interesting way to expound upon Shepherd, not just being the alliance go to, not just being the specter, but also being the server's agent, the end seven, the savior of the galaxy.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and all of the different kind of bonuses and consequences that might come with that, like I can only imagine in that scenario how difficult negotiating peace would be between the death and the Koreans without your specter status, right? [SPEAKER_04]: Because you wouldn't have access to a lot of the things leading up to that.

[SPEAKER_04]: But all right, what a fascinating point. [SPEAKER_04]: Thanks for bringing that up. [SPEAKER_04]: Let's move over to, so Yukon Cornelius is not here with us in the call. [SPEAKER_04]: However, he has sent in his thoughts about what he would change in the Mass Effect universe. [SPEAKER_04]: And I have them over here and we can go ahead and play these.

[SPEAKER_04]: And for those of you in the call with me, you will want to be able to listen to this by bringing up the stream and then go ahead and listening that way. [SPEAKER_04]: So I'm going to go ahead and give it a go right now. [SPEAKER_12]: If I could make any change to Mass Effect, it would be to go back in time and stop the extended cut from being a thing.

[SPEAKER_12]: I thought the original ending was fine how it was. [SPEAKER_12]: I think a big part of my satisfaction with the end was that there wasn't much explained that I didn't already take as just understood from my point of view. [SPEAKER_12]: As it was being explained, I remember nodding along and being like, yeah, okay, I understand.

[SPEAKER_12]: I wasn't ever expecting the conversation with the catalyst or the star child to really stretch beyond explaining my choices to me. [SPEAKER_12]: The expanded, why me? [SPEAKER_12]: Why now? [SPEAKER_12]: Why not the elusive man? [SPEAKER_12]: Why not Seren? [SPEAKER_12]: I didn't really need all that for their explanation.

[SPEAKER_12]: I thought those answers were kind of obvious elusive man and Seren were both under Reaper control already. [SPEAKER_12]: They couldn't make that choice. [SPEAKER_12]: I understood that I was the one that was there to make that decision and to end the conflict. [SPEAKER_12]: The rest would be on the shoulders of all the survivors.

[SPEAKER_12]: The added content of the extended cut didn't feel like it added a whole lot more context. [SPEAKER_12]: I remember the first time I was going through it thinking, duh, yeah, I know all this already. [SPEAKER_12]: And feeling like it was just a longer way of explaining what was already explained in the original ending.

[SPEAKER_12]: Taking a million words to explain something that only takes seven. [SPEAKER_12]: Like most of my responses and explanation on this podcast. [SPEAKER_12]: Now I accept that I could be misremembering certain points because I haven't played or seen the original since prior to the extended cut release, but I definitely remember being underwhelmed with it after it was advertised to be the cure all of all that alesus.

[SPEAKER_12]: When I saw the release turning the scrap metal, I thought, well, [SPEAKER_12]: The universe is toast in my eyes. [SPEAKER_12]: All the squadmates were just going to be stuck wherever they were at. [SPEAKER_12]: Everyone that survived the final battle on Earth were in its orbit. [SPEAKER_12]: We're just stuck in Seoul.

[SPEAKER_12]: The next chapter would essentially be rediscovering intergalactic spaceflight. [SPEAKER_12]: The folks on the jungle planet were now in survival mode. [SPEAKER_12]: Shepherd is dead. [SPEAKER_12]: The galaxy and its inhabitants are still spacefaring. [SPEAKER_12]: Just stuck in the systems they were in when the relay system went down.

[SPEAKER_12]: No fairy tale ending, just the best possible outcome given the circumstances. [SPEAKER_12]: The goal was to end the Reaper threat, and by any means, and that was accomplished. [SPEAKER_12]: There was a cost of victory, and that cost was setting galactic travel back hundreds or thousands of years depending on your species.

[SPEAKER_12]: And more profoundly, they call Shepard their life. [SPEAKER_12]: But now the Reapers wouldn't harvest anyone anymore. [SPEAKER_12]: That's the goal, right? [SPEAKER_12]: Mission accomplished. [SPEAKER_12]: Adding that scene in the perfect destroy ending where Shepard takes a breath from under the rubble as a way to appease folks that were complaining about Shepard dying was actually extremely frustrating to me.

[SPEAKER_12]: In Odyssey's like this, the heroes are always tied to their villains, and one can't be great without the other. [SPEAKER_12]: It's okay that Shepard dies, driving that last nail into the coffin of the Reaper threat. [SPEAKER_12]: It made for a fantastic moment of gravity as the trilogy came to a close, and I feel like that rewritten ending with that last gasp of breath in that false hope that Shepard lives cheapened that feeling that I felt the first time through.

[SPEAKER_04]: okay well that was a really hot take that the extended cut dlc was superfluous basically which is what he said in so many words which is also ironic [SPEAKER_04]: that the extended cut DLC didn't need to be there that that he was completely okay with the explanation we were given in the original massfic three endings now I don't know about the rest of you but I played massfic three the day that it came out uh and met you did as well and I remember those OG endings [SPEAKER_04]: and being pissed off.

[SPEAKER_04]: And being like, what do you mean? [SPEAKER_04]: That's it. [SPEAKER_04]: What do you mean? [SPEAKER_04]: And so I have to disagree with Yukon here because I felt like a lot of what came in the Accentacut DLC was not a given. [SPEAKER_04]: It was not a given that, and by the way, I think we learned later from writers who gave interviews and did post on forums and things that it was never actually intended with any of the endings that anyone would be stranded in their systems.

[SPEAKER_04]: that it was, they assumed they would be able to get back. [SPEAKER_04]: So perhaps to my point that you can thought that they would be stranded is a gap of communication between the writers and the players in that original ending. [SPEAKER_04]: So I want to open this up here to you guys, extended cut DLC, necessary or just redundant and kind of ruined your initial playthrough.

[SPEAKER_08]: So I'm kind of on the fence about it because I do think that there was the star child conversation is too long. [SPEAKER_08]: In my opinion, and the fact that I can't dialogue skip it really bothers me because it takes too long. [SPEAKER_08]: And so I wish that there that some of that stuff was cut.

[SPEAKER_08]: It can be interesting, especially the first time that you're going through it and learning all that stuff. [SPEAKER_08]: But then on subsequent playthroughs, it's just like, I wish that I could get through this because I already know what I'm going to do next. [SPEAKER_08]: But the extended cut also gave me the final goodbye to my romance option.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I am never going to get rid of those scenes because they mean way too much to me. [SPEAKER_08]: when Cadenin is crying and like having to be forced onto the Normandy because he can't let me go, or the one and only time out of the entire OG trilogy that Garus says the words, I love you.

[SPEAKER_08]: You can't take that away from me. [SPEAKER_04]: That's right. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: That was, and that came to mind for me too. [SPEAKER_04]: Be good, but instead of kidding, I was thinking about Ashley and how impactful that scene is where, you know, the mega gets flipped Ashley and Shepard having that final, you know, like goodbye and, you know, Shepard's like, go.

[SPEAKER_04]: So it's a great scene. [SPEAKER_04]: And now I actually cannot remember if it came with the extended cut DLC or vanilla. [SPEAKER_04]: And as day here says in chat, the breath scene after the ending happened in vanilla if he remembers correctly. [SPEAKER_04]: I thought I remembered that happening in vanilla, but maybe I'm mistaken as well there.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's been so long since I've only played with the extended cut DLC. [SPEAKER_04]: I haven't gone back to vanilla from there. [SPEAKER_04]: But [SPEAKER_04]: I want to open this up to our patrons as well. [SPEAKER_04]: Mitch, I saw you making certain faces while you're listening to Yukon's thoughts.

[SPEAKER_13]: Yes. [SPEAKER_13]: Okay, yeah, because day one, those endings were just pick your favorite color that they had no difference between them. [SPEAKER_13]: So we absolutely, I feel like needed. [SPEAKER_13]: the extended cut to the ends, just to just to give the choices their full weight as much as possible with shepherd usually being dead of one of the three.

[SPEAKER_13]: I just, yeah, I [SPEAKER_13]: I remember I did all of that work, and I did for three, all three of them. [SPEAKER_13]: It's been hours, and I was like, this, that's it. [SPEAKER_13]: That's, that's all I get after all of this. [SPEAKER_13]: It was not, not fun. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: I remember feeling like I needed more closure, like there needed to be more of a day new month to that story. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: Anybody else? [SPEAKER_04]: I have thoughts about the extended cut DLC, whether or not it was necessary. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: He had hit the nail on the head there with how just kind of ends.

[SPEAKER_03]: There's no, to the original ending. [SPEAKER_03]: And I think that having the extended cut definitely gives it a little more, I got to disagree with him hard on that. [SPEAKER_03]: There's no, it doesn't add context of it. [SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely, it's context to everything you did, and everything that will happen after the choice that you made.

[SPEAKER_03]: I agree with mention, the original ending was just take your favorite color. [SPEAKER_03]: There's no difference in how the the game ends as well. [SPEAKER_03]: The reapers are dead either way. [SPEAKER_03]: So I think having the extending cut definitely has context and adds depth to your choice.

[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, you know, which the four choices you'd send to make. [SPEAKER_04]: right on. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I think it's about time to wrap up, but real quick, Genesis. [SPEAKER_04]: What's one thing that you would change in the series? [SPEAKER_08]: Uh, I wish that more of my OG trilogy decisions worked their way into Andromeda and I'm not talking about like how it would affect the gameplay or anything like that, but data would still travel.

[SPEAKER_08]: People would still be sending messages to their loved ones about little updates of like this happened and then this happened and then [SPEAKER_08]: Even if and drama was the first game that you played and you're learning about the things that happened back in the Milky Way galaxy, you know, I think that they could have brought in more and more things, even little news updates.

[SPEAKER_08]: The reapers have arrived in the Milky Way galaxy. [SPEAKER_08]: We have [SPEAKER_08]: Things that are going on and more and more story more and more things that are happening could have been sent as like little news blasts. [SPEAKER_08]: Even if they were just a text waste message in email that I got to read from back on earth or messages from two hundred years ago, three hundred years ago, four hundred years ago, just updating what happened in the Milky Way galaxy.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, I remember playing through in drama and thinking, like I was so hopeful that I'd hear something about my beloved playthrough and the original trilogy or there'd be some kind of option to import a shepherd and my decisions to hear something about it, anything. [SPEAKER_04]: But again, galaxy far, far away, far in the future, we don't have to talk about it.

[SPEAKER_04]: So what I would change about [SPEAKER_04]: The mass fixaries is also including in Dramada, but it's a little bit more meta than that. [SPEAKER_04]: I know from having spoken with some of the developers who were on that team, just what that process was like. [SPEAKER_04]: And so if I were to change something about the series, it would have been that the team had more time to actually build the game and that they had finished the planning stages faster.

[SPEAKER_04]: So what I mean by that is basically from what I'm aware of, the mass-fect and drama to team was in planning stages for so long, deciding things like how many planets would there be? [SPEAKER_04]: That it really limited the amount of time for them to build out set planets. [SPEAKER_04]: And so if I were to change one thing, it would have been to give them more time.

[SPEAKER_04]: to give them more time to put out the game that they wanted to put out. [SPEAKER_04]: And that they wouldn't be on such a harsh time table. [SPEAKER_04]: So who knows what would have happened within drama that way. [SPEAKER_04]: But those are all of our criticisms, our ideas [SPEAKER_04]: for inclusions or edits to the Mass Effect series.

[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you all for joining me and Genesis again on the Lordcast. [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm sure that we have stoked a lot of ideas, perhaps angry comments in coming on YouTube or Spotify or Apple. [SPEAKER_04]: And we want to hear all of them. [SPEAKER_04]: We want to hear all the feedback. [SPEAKER_04]: So let's go around the horn and go ahead and tell me what you got going on and how can people get a hold of you starting with you, Magister?

[SPEAKER_10]: I've got nothing going on at this current moment in time, but my name is Madsure DeVita, how on the both the discord as well as the NEM Patreon. [SPEAKER_10]: So free to contact me. [SPEAKER_10]: Current obsessions are diving back into Dragon Age origins and having to play through there going with a [SPEAKER_10]: Dwarf, I can't afford, perhaps what the other class is called in there, but that's what I'm currently going.

[SPEAKER_10]: So anyone want to talk about Dragon Age Origins? [SPEAKER_10]: So hit me up. [SPEAKER_04]: Nice. [SPEAKER_04]: My first playthrough of Dragon Age Origins, I accidentally made my character who looked identical to Zevron. [SPEAKER_04]: People were begging me to romance Zevron. [SPEAKER_04]: Which would have been really funny, but I didn't get there.

[SPEAKER_04]: But, all right, Andrew, what are you guys going on and how can people get ahold of you? [SPEAKER_15]: uh, busy with work and busy with parenting. [SPEAKER_15]: I don't have much time for anything outside of that. [SPEAKER_15]: Uh, people can get hold of me on the discord if they want to chat.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: Sounds great. [SPEAKER_04]: And retro butt. [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm retro butt, uh, retro butt on the discord and retro butt on string steam. [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, just playing through the remake of Melgar Salt Three. [SPEAKER_02]: And once I talk about that, but that's basically a lot to right now.

[SPEAKER_04]: Sweet. [SPEAKER_04]: Jeff, what do you got going on? [SPEAKER_04]: How can people look at the whole deal? [SPEAKER_03]: A lot of, uh, catch me on this court if you want to talk mass spectra or anything else, uh, under the handle of super fly for forty. [SPEAKER_04]: So, right on, Mitch.

[SPEAKER_13]: Um, so you can find me on the discord under the, uh, psych that is C like A, um, tag, um, [SPEAKER_13]: And you can find my works of the Avengers audio drama on all the major podcasters and director writer and voice of Bruce Banner and the Hulk. [SPEAKER_04]: And I think there's a couple of other voices who have been on some of those episodes here with us now.

[SPEAKER_13]: Yes indeed, both you and Genesis provided your voices. [SPEAKER_13]: You played Sam. [SPEAKER_13]: You played Javas for several episodes. [SPEAKER_13]: And Genesis, you lend your voice to Captain Watt Ashley Williams in the Captain America episodes. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, especially named. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, that whole scene is a Mass Effect reference. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_13]: So you go and then listen to it. [SPEAKER_13]: But yeah, that's it. [SPEAKER_13]: That's it for me. [SPEAKER_04]: Alright, so everybody, if you like the Avengers, if you like superheroes, and if you like audio dramas, hell, even if you don't, go check it out.

[SPEAKER_04]: You will listen along and see if you can spot other voices that you know, if you listen other robots radio shows too. [SPEAKER_04]: Alright, Genesis, I know you do some other things here on the side. [SPEAKER_08]: I do. [SPEAKER_08]: I have two other shows. [SPEAKER_08]: The two girls, one ship podcast, which was plugged a whole bunch in the beginning of this episode.

[SPEAKER_08]: So no need to go that one again. [SPEAKER_08]: Nice. [SPEAKER_08]: And the cyberpunk lore cast. [SPEAKER_08]: Everything related to cyberpunk from the video games to the anime. [SPEAKER_08]: And I cannot wait for season two of edge runners to come out. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I don't know if my heart's ready, but I'll get ready.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'll get ready for that. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: And Karina, what do you have going on the next month or so and how can people get the hold of you? [SPEAKER_09]: Well, I'm a singer. [SPEAKER_09]: I'm a photographer. [SPEAKER_09]: I have ferrets and I'm a fan of Mass Effect.

[SPEAKER_09]: So you can reach out to me on the discord. [SPEAKER_09]: My username is Karina C. D. [SPEAKER_04]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_04]: Do you ever sing to your parents? [SPEAKER_09]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_09]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe they would like that. [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe they wouldn't like that.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_09]: No, I don't think so. [SPEAKER_04]: They don't like to be bothered right on. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, thank you all for carving the time out to be here. [SPEAKER_04]: I hope everybody enjoyed our conversation. [SPEAKER_04]: Genesis and I will be back next week.

[SPEAKER_04]: Starting a new sub series of episodes on the lore. [SPEAKER_04]: We mentioned Paul Grace and before, but I think it's probably about time to get into Paul Grace's lore and just how much of a crossroads he is for so many different important characters in this series. [SPEAKER_04]: Until next time, Spectres, we should go.

[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks for listening to the Mass Effect War test. [SPEAKER_04]: Reach out to us on Blue Sky, Twitter, Discord, Patreon, or email us at Mass EffectLorecast at gmail.com. [SPEAKER_08]: Join us next week for more lore, same space, same time, or check out our live streams at twitch.tv slash Mass Effect Forecast.
