Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999) w/ Ryan

For episode 50 of MoviePod we are doing Episode 1!
I am joined again by Ryan to discuss a film that had impossible expectations upon release and received criticism for its bizarre choices and stilted dialogue. However, as time as gone on and the brand of Star Wars has become corporate, the pure auteur vision of George Lucas has been comended.
Ryan and I go in-depth talking about the various Glup Shitto's and problematic elements that make up this wild film that we are both fond of as well as ones such as Jar Jar Binks that we are mixed on. You will hear my pro-Watto stance and my thoughts on space racism.
Thank you all listening to MoviePod! Here is to 50 more episodes!
Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace is directed by George Lucas and stars Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Jake Lloyd, Ahmen Best, Ian McDiarmid, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Pernilla August, Samuel L Jackson and Frank Oz
