Step behind the scenes of Taskmaster Series 22 as Grace welcomes the season’s winner for an in-depth chat celebrating the grand finale. This special episode explores what it’s really like to compete on the show, manage nerves in the spotlight, and connect with both cast members and the famously devoted Taskmaster fan base. The conversation takes an honest look at personal milestones, fandom quirks, and the significance of authentic representation on national television.

The conversation focused on the level of competition in Series 22, examining whether the win felt hard-fought or shaped by the dynamics among the contestants. Reflections include handling pressure on the first day, relying on backstage advice, and striking a balance between playing to win and playing with integrity. One concept discussed was the variety of challenges, particularly the approach taken to art-based tasks and how skills, or lack thereof, impacted the experience. A key theme that emerged was the importance of visibility, especially being open about pronouns and receiving support from both production and the audience.

Several points were raised, including:

• Addressing online chatter about how competitive the season was, and when it’s worth challenging unfair play

• Personal stories about overcoming nerves, guided by advice from the crew and cast

• Strategies for tackling art tasks seen as personal weak spots, and the relief found in not having to compete at everything

• Insightful moments about being the second non-binary winner in a row, and the decision to publicly use they/them pronouns on the show

• Lighthearted discussion of comedic connections and how previous contestants’ dynamics echo through the Taskmaster “family tree”

This episode blends strategic discussion and heartfelt storytelling, touching on the growth and support found during Series 22. What impact will back-to-back non-binary winners have on future seasons, and how does authentic representation shape the game and its fans? Tune in to discover the real story behind this season’s journey.
