The Dead Man's Library Card: Stamped Dates After His Death
A dead man’s checkout card bears two stamped dates made more than two years after his death, placed inside a closed library during renovation-how did a book appear in an aisle photographed empty less than 48 hours earlier? What did Nora McCarthy do with the library key and seven date stamps that no one expected?
In this episode, we tell the sequence of events surrounding a volume at the Millbrook Branch and the people connected to it, laying out the physical evidence, the timeline, and the unresolved gap in who placed the book. Could the timestamps on a mechanical date stamp solve the mystery of when and why the book reappeared?
