431 - PURPLE RAIN (1984) + UNDER THE CHERRY MOON (1986) ft. Willow Catelyn Maclay

Hosts Josh and Jamie and special guest film critic and author Willow Catelyn Maclay discuss the iconic pioneering funk, rock and pop musician (and androgenous sex symbol) Prince with a double feature of his screen debut in the quasi-autobiographical rock opera/concert musical PURPLE RAIN (1984) + his directorial debut UNDER THE CHERRY MOON (1986), a strange post-modern pastiche of Old Hollywood rom-coms and European art films.

Next week's episode is a patron-exclusive bonus episode on British juvenile delinquents: A CLOCKWORK ORANGE (1971) + SCUM (1979), you can get access to that episode (and all past + future bonus episodes) by subscribing to our $5 tier on Patreon: www.patreon.com/sleazoidspodcast
