Today's biggest winners and losers in the stock market, a look at the notable movers:
On this episode of Stock Movers:
- Apple (AAPL) posted decelerating sales growth in its September quarter, with China revenue missing estimates, in the first earnings report since John Ternus took over as chief executive officer.Revenue rose 12% to $114.5 billion during its fiscal fourth quarter, which ended Sept. 26, the company said in a statement Monday. Analysts had estimated $113.5 billion on average, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Apple itself had projected revenue growth of 9% to 11%. The growth marks a slowdown from a 16% increase in the June quarter. The company didn’t update its standard iPhone in September, breaking with tradition, and supply shortages have made it difficult to deliver enough inventory. Apple is also contending with a deceleration in its services business and playing catch-up in artificial intelligence. Apple shares fell 1% in late trading after the report was released. They had climbed 24% this year through the close.
- Palantir Technologies (TK) gave a forecast for full-year revenue that beat Wall Street’s expectations, buoyed by surging demand for the company’s data analytics tools. The software developer raised its annual revenue forecast to $8.53 billion, compared with the average analyst estimate of $8.2 billion. Palantir reported revenue of $2.31 billion in the third quarter, with US commercial revenue surpassing government revenue for the first time.
- On Semiconductor (ON) reported quarterly earnings of 90 cents per share, beating the analyst estimate of 88 cents. The company announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Ferric, Inc. for $600 million in cash, plus up to $175 million in contingent consideration. On Semiconductor stock was down 4.62% to $66.87 in Monday’s extended trading after the company posted its third-quarter fiscal 2026 results.

The Stock Movers Report. Your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market. Harnessing the power of Bloomberg data.
I'm Carol Messer along with Tim Stenevik. Let's get to some stocks on the move. And we definitely have some things moving in the aftermarket with us as Bloomberg News Equities Reporter. Our release, Bonilla Ramos joining us here in studio. Got to talk Apple.
Absolutely. So that's Zigger AAPL. They are, well, when I left, they were down a little bit between, you know, gains and losses. That's after fiscal fourth quarter earnings. The iPhone maker, which recently, you know, introduces touchscreen laptop.
It's pretty much flat in the active market right now.
Yeah. Oh, right now.
Oh, look at that. Well, sales growth slowed in the September quarter and revenue in China fell short of expectations. This is also the first earnings report from John Ternus, a CEO. From its segment, the iPad lagged among its core products. So I think investors are just going to take a peek at 5 p.m. when the earnings call comes up and see what additional details they can say about the guidance and what The expectation of the next products are going to be with the holidays coming. Yeah.
As Mark Gurman told us, the guidance is key. You typically get that halfway through the earnings call. And the question is, okay, how many of these duos are they going to be able to make because they cannot keep these things on the shelves?
Yeah.
And does an investor get, not investor, a consumer get frustrated and go elsewhere?
But, you know, I know.
Wait till March.
You're not going to like blow up your whole ecosystem, right?
We wouldn't.
And go to it, you know, Android.
No. Exactly.
In the U.S. I'm not saying for customers worldwide.
I'm now pinked since Mark Gurman's like, this phone's pretty cool.
What, you're going to do this?
He says it's changed his workflow. I have to say, I love as a screen scale.
No, but I do.
You know that. I like write scripts on this.
I do a lot of things.
Yeah, that could be good for you, actually. I love as they get larger because.
The more you do on the way into the office, the better it is for me.
Team effort.
Maybe we should all pitch into the duo fund for Carol.
Let's get one for the team. Yeah. All right, so Apple we're watching. It's going to be very interesting to see what we get on the call with analysts and investors. Palantir also reported after the close.
Yeah, so Palantir, that sticker PLTR, a little bit volatile as well. I believe it was up before I said. But that's the software developer, the major military vendor. They boosted their revenue guidance for the full year. The guidance, they beat average analyst estimates. That was boosted by surge in demand on the company's data analytic tools. I think investors have just been worried that the defense contractor shares may be a little bit overvalued. I mean, increased competition in that sector. Worth noting that in August, they sort of boosted also their revenue guidance and surge the most in two years. So that was a little bit priced in.
Then analysts then, they had a note after the bell, and he was saying that Basically, Palantir remains a topic in software, end quote.
Okay.
Yeah.
So that's Palantir.
Yeah.
And we got on semiconductor ticker ON. Falling about, I saw.
It at 6%.
I believe it might be between 3% and 4% right now. But the chipmaker's third quarter results did top Wall Street's consensus and meet expectations, but they did announce 3%. that they were going to officially acquire Ferric. That's a New York-based semiconductor startup. That's for $ 600 million in catch-up closing, which shouldn't make a big dent on the company. But maybe that has investors at this time a little bit confused with anything that's AI-related. But that's me just, you know, making stuff up.
No, you're not making stuff up.
But it could be.
It's an educated, like, because really that AI trade, right?
Yes, absolutely.
