[SPEAKER_01]: Hi everybody, you welcome to another episode on also call. [SPEAKER_01]: I am your host, Tane. [SPEAKER_01]: Here with Brian from Mass Virgin and we are here to talk about Welcome to Plathville season eight episodes two and three. [SPEAKER_01]: Hi Brian, how you doing? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm good.

[SPEAKER_00]: This season is giving me a lot of a lot of joy so far, so I'm into it. [SPEAKER_01]: It is. [SPEAKER_00]: I think? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what I feel about [SPEAKER_01]: It's I'm just like is this norm it's even kill like they're still dysfunction in here, but it's Let's roll a Costa Rie I guess yeah, it's less salacious than it's been but yeah, as a character study Season has been fast dating so far [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it has.

[SPEAKER_01]: So a little housekeeping before we go in there. [SPEAKER_01]: Patreon.com slash also call MEFS. [SPEAKER_01]: You can find bonus episodes. [SPEAKER_01]: Most recent bonus episode is the truth and tragedy of Moriah Wilson. [SPEAKER_01]: And on the regular feed, I have reality show rambul on there.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I talked about the documentary trust me. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the false profit. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the false prophet. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just, um, I give a warning that you should be prepared before you go in there because it's a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, that man's come film me committing crimes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's insane. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and it's trust me false prophet on Netflix. [SPEAKER_01]: So I talk about that. [SPEAKER_01]: I talk about Atlanta. [SPEAKER_01]: I talk about the Laguna Beach reunion. [SPEAKER_01]: and some other shows. [SPEAKER_01]: So go check that out on the regular field.

[SPEAKER_01]: I can't talk today, guys. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to wait for it. [SPEAKER_01]: It has been because this is a good segue because guys, the queue one of the year has been a lot for me, not an excuse, but it's just been taken to told on me. [SPEAKER_01]: And I realized on our last episode where we talked about some of our house, I kept saying Maya.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's me. [SPEAKER_00]: It's me, yeah, yeah, I should have quit. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I keep telling Brian feel free to correct me. [SPEAKER_01]: And he doesn't want to and I realize that was a man. [SPEAKER_00]: It feels rude. [SPEAKER_01]: No, it's fine. [SPEAKER_01]: You should, this is worse when I go out there and just yapped my mouth away and it's the wrong thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: And not an excuse, but it's just been a lot and has been tough. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm still just trying to get this episode's cranked out. [SPEAKER_01]: at the audits times two, this is another one that said it all time, but we're making work and just wanted to apologize, like it is me, I know that, but it was just, it's been rough guys, but it would get better, and apologies, I know it's me and not my, they got it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so we're going to talk about the plaques this week, and it turns out, Maria was there at the reckoning, [SPEAKER_01]: Second Lydia. [SPEAKER_00]: Physically. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: But now we see her because she is out for drinks with her brothers and her dad. [SPEAKER_01]: Barry is drinking with Ethan, Mariah, and Micah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not sure what's happening, but Micah is like cheers to Ethan saying his first words. [SPEAKER_01]: And Ethan is just staring into the ether. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, no, it looked like it pissed Ethan off. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, it was mad up being called up and ever speaking.

[SPEAKER_01]: He pisses Ethan off. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't take much. [SPEAKER_00]: He has gone from perpetually smiling and joyful about everything to I had not seen his teeth in four seasons. [SPEAKER_00]: He's just been angry for years now. [SPEAKER_01]: He can't even blame his ex-wife. [SPEAKER_01]: She's not on there anymore.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, he can't blame anybody, but I'm sure he does blame her still. [SPEAKER_00]: But like, [SPEAKER_00]: Something's wrong with him. [SPEAKER_00]: He needs to do some intensive talk therapy because his man needs to sort out whatever's going on with him. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that's the problem.

[SPEAKER_01]: He needs to go talk to someone, but Ethan is not a talker. [SPEAKER_01]: Ethan does not know how to process his feelings articulate his feelings and it's just sitting there and bringing out the worst in him. [SPEAKER_00]: And everyone around him. [SPEAKER_00]: He's a [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it doesn't matter.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's a hero to his mommy. [SPEAKER_01]: So he's like dark cloud. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my god. [SPEAKER_00]: Give us the best rain you can So and Moriah seems to really be fascinated by him too and really See what I'm making proud. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't get it [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you can.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's the oldest, the way they were raised, and they just want to, he's not like a father figure because, you know, Barry said that. [SPEAKER_01]: But he kind of is. [SPEAKER_01]: So he gives that energy that you don't want to make him mad. [SPEAKER_01]: And if you're following the lead of your mom, who also just wants to be his best friend, it makes sense.

[SPEAKER_01]: Why that's a case. [SPEAKER_01]: So. [SPEAKER_01]: Mariah says she has an idea to go around and say what they wish they didn't do today. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, is this leading to something I almost felt maybe something happened and they were leading into a story that they hadn't aired yet, but it didn't lead to that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So what was this? [SPEAKER_00]: Sure, it didn't. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: The editing of the show is always weird. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like they, it's almost like, [SPEAKER_00]: They don't understand how reality TV works. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's like we're walking in in the middle of a conversation every time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Instead of like we're starting the scene, here is my thing. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to end the scene here. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh, we've been talking for seven minutes. [SPEAKER_00]: We're not going to start a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: Just like pick it up where we are right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: They'll figure it out. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to need TLC to stop phoning it in because they're phoning it in for all their legacy shows and They got us at thinking about what's next. [SPEAKER_01]: We have not gotten something that hit we're getting all this one off six eight episode shows Not getting second seasons, but what happens when and it's happening Sister wives is wearing thin 90 days is wearing thin, but there's a thousand of them that at least we're two will get one set or good and we're getting [SPEAKER_01]: you know, new episodes of 90 day coming with new characters.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that always kind of helps. [SPEAKER_01]: But what do we do? [SPEAKER_01]: They need to, it just feels like they're not trying to be better. [SPEAKER_01]: They're just like, yeah, they'll take whatever we give them. [SPEAKER_00]: They try with that fake arm, I'm sure it's flopped. [SPEAKER_00]: I have a word.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I have a word I want to toss out to them to mend them with their older days. [SPEAKER_00]: Gypsies. [SPEAKER_00]: TLC used to be chock full of Gypsy content and it was all fist fights, like arguments, bring that shit back. [SPEAKER_00]: I would watch a new season of Gypsy Sisters right now if it dropped.

[SPEAKER_00]: that show was it insane every episode like I would watch that shit right now with them just punching until in the back of the head in front of somebody's trailer like give me that because you you had a winning formula and you pivoted away from it and I wonder what those messes are all doing right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think they're just like we're in a different era. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you can bring it back. [SPEAKER_01]: They're not going to bring a show for a party of one Brian. [SPEAKER_00]: So they had so many of them. [SPEAKER_00]: They were they had a gypsy moment and then 90 day fiancee showed up and it was like, well, this is our new thing now and we're just leading all the way into this.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why the armistice went away too. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't bring armistice back. [SPEAKER_00]: You tried to fail. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the TLC show I would bring back and now I'm second guessing maybe it was not on TLC. [SPEAKER_01]: It was probably on FYI. [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't FYI.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think where Meredith for site was was arranged. [SPEAKER_01]: It was just a group of people who had arranged marriages in different ways. [SPEAKER_01]: There was a gypsy family on there. [SPEAKER_01]: There was a family from India and then there was another it was just different levels or different varieties of arranged marriages that was fun to watch.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they could bring that back. [SPEAKER_01]: That would be good. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'd watch that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: So she starts sharing how much she loves Montana because they're trying to ask her. [SPEAKER_01]: She's going to come back and they're like, you know, what we actually see how happy she is.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I just want to point out, I say this all the time that, you know, I'm proud of Lydia for standing her ground. [SPEAKER_01]: It seems with her family. [SPEAKER_01]: I wish you would just go far far away from them and just be happy with Zach. [SPEAKER_01]: But the irony is like, they see that [SPEAKER_01]: Mariah is really happy now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Coincidentally, he's when she moved far far away from them. [SPEAKER_00]: Yep, get the fuck away from these people. [SPEAKER_00]: He'll be okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so there's something they are toxic. [SPEAKER_01]: And the thing is they're up with each other. [SPEAKER_01]: They don't think they realize the level of toxicity that they have within their families.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I need Barry to find friends. [SPEAKER_01]: Creepy Barry needs to find friends that are his age [SPEAKER_01]: confiding in them that he had a vision, not a fantasy guy, so he had a vision of meeting a lady in Montana. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, okay, when, how? [SPEAKER_01]: And then Micah makes her joke about how, oh, he's only been with his mom, and he doesn't think that that's his type.

[SPEAKER_00]: What? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I could interpret that as, look at what Kim looked like when they first got together. [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, over time, we all change, we age, whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that he's looking at it as, look at how seriously my dad takes working out and being ripped all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: He needs like a 55 year old CrossFit lady. [SPEAKER_00]: It's essentially what he's talking about here. [SPEAKER_00]: That's not Kim. [SPEAKER_01]: The interpretation is not the problem. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, what did he make a joke about that? [SPEAKER_01]: And laugh about it, and it's your mom.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I wouldn't do that. [SPEAKER_00]: What's that weird? [SPEAKER_00]: No, the family's a mess. [SPEAKER_01]: That was terrible. [SPEAKER_00]: It's terrible. [SPEAKER_00]: It's absolutely terrible. [SPEAKER_01]: So they start asking their, this conversation is weird, but they start asking their dad with his pickup lines are, [SPEAKER_01]: And they ask Ethan, I think they ask Micah and as someone says how you do it, how you do in baby that was Michael.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's doing practice lines. [SPEAKER_01]: Barry sets doing it, but he's practicing it with his daughter. [SPEAKER_00]: Uh-huh. [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: Nice. [SPEAKER_00]: I always feel like it's difficult to have somebody who's like shockingly good looking, try to give you tips on like how to approach women or men or whatever, because Mike is just like, I don't notice like go up and like show them your stomach and then have sex with them.

[SPEAKER_00]: How is it hard? [SPEAKER_00]: It's just like, yeah, that works for you, Micah, because you're like a super good looking dude and you can do that. [SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't work for everybody. [SPEAKER_00]: So when you have something that looks like Micah trying to give you advice on how to like approach people of the opposite sex, his advice is useless.

[SPEAKER_00]: He is up to try it on. [SPEAKER_00]: But then, yeah, the practicing with Mariah all is just, I don't know who else he would practice with, but not her. [SPEAKER_01]: Not to be crossed on anything, but show them your stomach, and let's do adult activities, I think, would work for Barry. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean it it would work for I don't know because I don't know what women his age are into They might be like no, I don't like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean odds probabilities like if he shows 10 And then it's fine one because it's not a bad looking dude body. [SPEAKER_00]: Why come the next day Yeah, yeah, he says the face is terrifying [SPEAKER_01]: What they call a butterface, but yeah, he's not bad looking and it's just like that's why when we watch all these shows all these dating shows and everyone's doing all this Twisting bending lying and like you will always find willing participants I don't some people don't care whether you with someone whether you're not any like there's someone for someone out there [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, regardless, so it's so many options and that's part of the problem.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I think you could actually, you know, work for him, not the problem is he might actually need to get out of caro, which doesn't have a problem. [SPEAKER_01]: These people in Tallahassee, like they don't have to ask you a lot down the road for milk. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's not an issue or not a problem, and we know most of the reality shows we watch their sourcing from Florida.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you're not in Utah, then they're going to fuck it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're going to fuck it. [SPEAKER_01]: So the big highlight of last episode, episode two, is that at the end, they went to a Halloween field, haunted field thing, and then we see Isaac tell Caitlin, like, oh, get in the car, take off your mic, and then we're like, what, what?

[SPEAKER_01]: And basically he broke up with her. [SPEAKER_01]: And Kayla is telling us, like, she knew something was wrong when I'm a girl and I got to it in the end. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh, that was just crossing my way. [SPEAKER_01]: But I was like, okay, we just ended up here. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I wouldn't have thought she was about, well, they put me out the end of the line and that makes me feel pretty uncomfortable.

[SPEAKER_01]: She verys not dead, I guess. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Silver Lightning. [SPEAKER_01]: But she's like, she's a girl. [SPEAKER_01]: Also was blindsided. [SPEAKER_01]: he's too young and there's so much pressure and she's older, she's 22 guys. [SPEAKER_01]: I think he's one to part. [SPEAKER_01]: Wait, Isaac is in the 19.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's 20, I think. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, he's 20 now. [SPEAKER_01]: But yes, so two years, I mean, yes. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's 38 and like, has to freeze her eggs now or something. [SPEAKER_01]: And it scared him. [SPEAKER_01]: So one of the saddest things and we're seeing this also in temptation islands is when two people are completely different pages like one person is like Oh my god, I'm in the best perfect relationship ever and the other person is like oh my god What do we do me?

[SPEAKER_01]: I need to get out. [SPEAKER_00]: I hate this person [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, she had no idea. [SPEAKER_01]: So he's been having these thoughts allegedly. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we didn't even know going back to storytelling on this show. [SPEAKER_01]: We didn't even know. [SPEAKER_01]: We haven't had anything.

[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't seen any confessional. [SPEAKER_01]: All we've heard is that he thinks Caitlyn is the best thing ever. [SPEAKER_01]: And she'll never do anything wrong to him. [SPEAKER_01]: She thought all was well. [SPEAKER_01]: So she goes to meet up with a friend at a film in the blanks for me, Brian.

[SPEAKER_01]: What is this place? [SPEAKER_01]: Is it just not often they went there? [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it's her house, but I can't go inside. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a proper situation. [SPEAKER_00]: It's on a thousand acres and I have like a corrugated tan addition to the house, I think. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if there's like a little bar inside.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what this is. [SPEAKER_00]: I, I haven't spent most of my entire life in the Midwest. [SPEAKER_00]: We don't have whatever this is here. [SPEAKER_00]: We probably have a version of it, but it's not this, and I was really confused by all of this. [SPEAKER_01]: It just looked like an upgraded patio.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they sat there and had their wine. [SPEAKER_01]: But if it was her house, I was like, why can't she go inside? [SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, why can't she go inside and why did she park 30 miles away? [SPEAKER_00]: She was forever to get there. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it was a very street situation.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I was like feeling the blanks. [SPEAKER_01]: You tell me what you think this was. [SPEAKER_01]: So we need a map. [SPEAKER_01]: How friend is much older? [SPEAKER_01]: If she's 20, she and her friend at the very least is like, what, give her a take 40? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'd say like 30s are the 40s.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And she's pointing out like listen, you know, not to defend him or anything, he's seen all this dysfunction around him with his family when he comes to relationship. [SPEAKER_01]: And he hasn't had the time or been able to see that Caitlyn is different. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, how long have they been together?

[SPEAKER_00]: long enough that it's in multiple seasons. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, well, shit, Zach and Zach and Lydia are almost together for a year, and now they're about eight months into their marriage, and it's long enough that she was like a part of the wedding, so it's been a year or a year and a half.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So, um, let's take a break here, and then we will talk about him calling her parents. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't like that. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll be right back. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and we're back. [SPEAKER_01]: So, friend is asking her, Caitlyn, if he has reached out or anything, and he's like, yeah, every now and then he texts, but then he called her parents.

[SPEAKER_01]: He called her parents, he apologized to her parents, said he will always love their daughter, and I'm like, this family is awkward. [SPEAKER_00]: I just... [SPEAKER_00]: I was I was confused by this until we got the follow-up of like why of what's happening with them right now, because I'm just like I have had a similar breakup where she did not think there was a problem at all and I was like I miserable in this and I blindsided her and when he was like I remember like the look on her face and I surprised she wasn't she didn't know what I remember what that feels like it does suck.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did not call her parents and like talk to them afterward. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just like yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: just stay as far away from this as I can and hope it blows over eventually like I'm not getting involved with this. [SPEAKER_01]: Do we give grace to the fact that maybe goes back to their upbringing, upbringing and maybe religion plays a factor because here's what confuses me about the show which I was going to ask you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Where do they stand in their religious beliefs? [SPEAKER_01]: Because much like Sister Wives where they barely or even talk about it anymore, [SPEAKER_01]: Where are they on this? [SPEAKER_01]: They raised them like this, and it's like, they sing gospel songs every now and then, but it's, what is their stance on the church?

[SPEAKER_01]: We don't even see Lydia go to church. [SPEAKER_00]: No, she, I mean, we haven't seen her in the prayer closet. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what, what they're collectively, I feel like it's easy to believe that Ethan has lost his faith, and the bad is why he is so different now than he was in the Ruby seasons.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, because they just don't talk about it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because that's where I was leaning was like, maybe it's like a thing that they do because everyone knows everyone because Ethan was Ethan's ex-wife. [SPEAKER_01]: Olivia, but Olivia, like their families knew each other, they used to talk to each other, so maybe it's a thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he just called because we're going to run into each other anyways, so might as well just get it over and done with who knows. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what I was thinking with that. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, he says he feels stupid and he wants to rebuild and he's texting who I assume is Caitlin with his grimy hands.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like he needs a pool of dirt and mud and stuff and he's still texting. [SPEAKER_01]: He says that he isn't hell and he shouldn't have listened to him. [SPEAKER_01]: He shouldn't have listened to Mario for advice. [SPEAKER_01]: What a hell is Mario? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, that is. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if this, that's what I'm saying.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like we're in the middle of a conversation. [SPEAKER_00]: We're just popping in. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, that man is. [SPEAKER_00]: I just shoved it to a coworker. [SPEAKER_00]: Sure. [SPEAKER_00]: Could be a pastor by on the street. [SPEAKER_00]: We have no idea who this man is. [SPEAKER_01]: because if Mario is, I want to know how old Mario is, because if this is another 39-year-old, giving a 19-year-old advice, because they like to say that if he's married and maybe he's unhappy in his marriage, and he's like, yo, y'all, don't tie yourself down.

[SPEAKER_01]: You also listen to him. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the other thing. [SPEAKER_01]: You have for you will you could have told him to just get the hell away from me Go away. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm happy, but instead you will like, oh, I feel pressure pressure to do what? [SPEAKER_01]: Caitlyn said yes, she wanted to get married, but she didn't mean right now [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is not this is not a situation where I feel like she's telling him a man clock is ticking like it's been a year already like why have you proposed yet this doesn't feel like one of those at all.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I think I almost wondered if there's internal pressure from him where he has been raised in this family and has to think it's been a year I need to start proposing or break up like they're what are we doing here and I wonder how much of this was just like [SPEAKER_00]: Confirmation bias, where it's like, well, this is what I think it was supposed to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, I assume this is also what she wants without actually checking them with her on that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, he says he hates himself so much and he just wants to be hurt and the ball isn't her court. [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, well, I'm just making him wait it out and friends like, yeah, letting wait it out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know your words. [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, I've always known myself worth. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to wait for him to come to me and I'm like here's the kicker about all of this. [SPEAKER_01]: It's only been a few days It hasn't even been a week No, it's only you know a few days.

[SPEAKER_01]: So what is happening right now? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like At that age I have been through that before where you're with somebody you break up and then it's like oh shit Like was that should I've done that or not things weren't that bad? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm real lonely all of a sudden and like you think about the good times and you want to take it back.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that part, that part was not confusing to me. [SPEAKER_00]: The follow on of and so I have to send her a text basically once a day checking and see if I can come back and I need to talk to her parents about it and like [SPEAKER_00]: The seriousness with which he's treating this relationship is surprising to me because like yeah You could you could just say hey, I shouldn't done that I fucked up.

[SPEAKER_00]: I made a mistake Do you want to get back together? [SPEAKER_00]: She says no. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like well, all right like I'm young I'll just have to chop this up to a loss and next time I'll think about it longer before I make that call I don't I don't understand much of what's going on with them because I get said it hasn't been a week yet So like yeah, I don't know what's happening here [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the friend says when a man loves you, who show you, he loves you.

[SPEAKER_01]: The problem is his 19 or 20, whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, and pussy comes to my family where they don't know how to show love in the first place. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so. [SPEAKER_01]: We move from Isaac to Ethan whining about Tegan, not knowing if he's supposed to be in Kero. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like the Wendellus, that's in these kids.

[SPEAKER_01]: None of them want to stay in one place. [SPEAKER_01]: They keep moving and moving and moving. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like moving sucks. [SPEAKER_01]: Like Patrick, you know, hacking is a lot of work. [SPEAKER_01]: And they just treat it like it's nothing. [SPEAKER_01]: So. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, something people take for granted, though, is getting along with your siblings.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we get on Ethan a lot, but I do want to give him his props, because it was nice to see Ethan spending time with his youngest siblings. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, you may not be our idea of fun, but the family we've known from their history, they bonded over singing. [SPEAKER_01]: They were traveling through Beth's on point.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know when Kim was trying to make them famous. [SPEAKER_01]: That's probably how she pitched the show, honestly, in the beginning. [SPEAKER_01]: I think so. [SPEAKER_01]: It was just a sweet moment watching him play guitar singing with his sisters, you know, the poor. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's sitting outside with blossom bubbles and buttercup, singing some, singing some church songs, and it was, it was very cute.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was nice. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'll give him his props over there. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I don't know if this is a way of making nice with Lydia, but Kim is asking Lydia to give her a haircut. [SPEAKER_01]: The problem is Lydia is passive aggressive and Lydia says she's asking me to give her a haircut that I had, like a year ago and she has this face of like, what is wrong with this woman?

[SPEAKER_01]: But okay, I'll do it. [SPEAKER_01]: We also find out in episode two that these two work together. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: They work together. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how much interaction they have at work, but I'm going to assume a lot of it because Kim doesn't seem like they kind of can just like play it cool around somebody.

[SPEAKER_01]: They work at the same restaurant and I'm like, who worked there first? [SPEAKER_01]: Because if Lydia worked there and then Kim just showed up, I'll be pissed. [SPEAKER_01]: Can I have my space? [SPEAKER_00]: No, I've got theories here. [SPEAKER_00]: I think Lydia worked there first. [SPEAKER_00]: Kim with her being on TV and her DUI background might have had a hard time finding a job and it was like okay, I'll talk to my manager He's okay with filming in here because I already film in here sometimes and like [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you have a DUI, so maybe working at a place that sells alcohol isn't the best idea, but like it's Florida, so I guess we can do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's my assumption, is that this was, I'm gonna put you on cause you're still my mom and I know you're struggling right now. [SPEAKER_00]: And so, you know, can need somebody to help him supplement his jukebox situation. [SPEAKER_00]: So here's a job you can have. [SPEAKER_01]: Can you retire, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: I think. [SPEAKER_00]: Is that what he said? [SPEAKER_00]: I think so. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just wondering what he does all day besides polishing the juice box. [SPEAKER_00]: Posting racist memes online, I think mostly. [SPEAKER_00]: It's this full time job. [SPEAKER_01]: So Lydia says that there is a lack of transparency and vulnerability, and she wants to clear up why they have issues.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, good on Lydia for wanting to clear this up with her, but I just him is giving Robin a run for her money for me because Robin really in the words of TF from Potomac aggravates my spirit and can it something else because in episode two when they're still talking about the whole colors and why she thinks Zach is controlling.

[SPEAKER_01]: She's still standing on business about Zack being controlling and I think the producer asked why didn't you confirm with Lydia and she's like, I didn't need to talk to her. [SPEAKER_01]: I had someone in there in the room that gave me confirmation and I'm like, I think this woman forgets that she's a mom.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like you are a mom, I don't care if you have someone there, you talk to your daughter and you ask your daughter what is the true tea because all I'm hearing is that you are taking the side of whoever this person was in the room over whatever happened and also if it's a narrative that you want and the more we get to talk, it feels like Kim was looking for a hot gotcha moment.

[SPEAKER_01]: For Lydia not approving her relationship and I'm like why are you in competition with your daughter? [SPEAKER_01]: Like what are you even doing? [SPEAKER_01]: Again, I think she forgets that she's a mom. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she was trying to get a lick back. [SPEAKER_00]: It was, oh, you didn't like my boyfriend.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to find something wrong with yours. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's just like you're grown. [SPEAKER_00]: You're grown. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is your daughter and like be mature for a second here. [SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: She doesn't make that the part that she played is not reaching out to Lydia.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, you intentionally not reaching out to your daughter because she felt condemnation and judgments about her life choices, especially the divorce. [SPEAKER_01]: And I want to say this and we say this all the time. [SPEAKER_01]: The fact that Kim cannot see, that Lydia is the child, that most absorbed all the teachings that she handed down is crazy.

[SPEAKER_01]: And for the producers to not have asked this question yet, it's crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: I need someone to just flat out say, do you recognize that you had a change in your life? [SPEAKER_01]: If you decided you were going to get a divorce, you were going to do all these things, live in [SPEAKER_01]: Coca-Cola, I was about to say Coke, but I don't want it to get misconstrued.

[SPEAKER_01]: Coca-Cola, the soda, and you taught these girls a lot of things, and she's sticking to those who do you recognize that that's why it may be hard for her to reconcile with Harpo who that woman right now, constantly being as my mom. [SPEAKER_00]: The easy thing to do for the producer here would say when they were growing up, what did you tell them about divorce?

[SPEAKER_00]: Was as part of what you guys talked about? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, if you have ingrained into them since they were born, divorce is not an option. [SPEAKER_00]: It is not something that we do, you're not allowed to get a divorce. [SPEAKER_00]: Then yes, when you get a divorce, because you're the fuck as wrong with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like you told us we could never do this. [SPEAKER_01]: And even besides that, part of Lydia's problem was the fact that it was so soon. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and when said divorce had a boyfriend immediately, people's minds go to the faculty was there in overlap, so there was no adultery, so there's like a whole sequence of events that, you know, that's not being talked about.

[SPEAKER_01]: And with families like this in the reality show, you have to know that there's a lot of stuff that's not being mentioned or being talked about, so we never get the full context of, you know, what is happening. [SPEAKER_01]: Where I am surprised is that Lydia thinks that Isaac made the right choice in breaking up with Kate.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well. [SPEAKER_01]: Wait, what? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, I don't know specifically where this comes from, but I'm happy she said it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she did, and she's like, yeah, he's young, he needs to go out there, and he needs to, you know, figure things out. [SPEAKER_01]: And Kim is just like, oh, I'm glad, she said that she sees that there's life beyond being getting married so young, a lot of part of me wondered like our things not okay at home and is Lydia like, oh my god, what have I got myself into maybe I should have just been single longer because where truly is that coming from for her to say that about Isaac, I thought you'd be like, [SPEAKER_01]: Caitlyn is a great girl.

[SPEAKER_01]: They seem to like each other. [SPEAKER_01]: It's always good to find young love and if it works out we don't have to get married right now but if it works out then it's great but for her to say yeah you should go out and explore and go that and like whoa [SPEAKER_00]: It's one of two things.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that she has any regrets with how her life has gone. [SPEAKER_00]: I would probably be full of regret if I was her. [SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think that she has that sort of view. [SPEAKER_00]: I almost wonder how much of this is the stuff that we have not seen of Isaac talking to her and being like, I'm feeling kind of suffocated.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm feeling like she's way more serious about this than I am. [SPEAKER_00]: How long has he felt this way? [SPEAKER_00]: And do they have the kind of relationship where he's talking to her about how he's feeling? [SPEAKER_00]: So I, you know, there's a lot that's unsaid here, but I could imagine a scenario where he's gone to her for months and been like out in a how to get out of this thing and she's more serious than I am and I'm feeling like she's going too fast and Lydia probably saying like, well, I can't relate to that because I wanted to marry Zach the second he said hello to me, but like that's not what you want and you should be happy with whatever you choose to do.

[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I'm surprised that you think Lydia and Isaac are talking this much. [SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're close to each. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's possible. [SPEAKER_01]: I do not think so. [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like Lydia was basically the... [SPEAKER_01]: The caretaker of the kids and as soon as you raise the tax she's out.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what she talks to the young one That much that I don't really think she's talking to Isaac if Isaac is talking to anyone Maybe Micah or Ethan, but I bet I think Ethan probably yeah I don't see them talking and then if he's talking to Ethan now that makes all the sense [SPEAKER_01]: Of course she did.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's going for your life. [SPEAKER_01]: Women at the devil. [SPEAKER_01]: You need to just run. [SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: But that means podcasts. [SPEAKER_01]: So when Kim says, [SPEAKER_01]: It feels like Lydia is a supporter of Barry and not me.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, thinking, dang, that's exactly what she is mad about. [SPEAKER_01]: She is mad about the fact this woman is in constant competition with Barry. [SPEAKER_01]: She talks about all the time. [SPEAKER_01]: He just wants to be their friend as if she's not doing the same thing. [SPEAKER_01]: And now he's just like Lydia chose Barry.

[SPEAKER_01]: We used to be close and then now you chose him over me. [SPEAKER_01]: And Lydia is like, again, this is my own proud of Lydia. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, yeah, you're right. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's because when I talk to you, it's like talking to a brick wall. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, go ahead, Lydia.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whew. [SPEAKER_00]: That listen. [SPEAKER_00]: This conversation was fascinating. [SPEAKER_00]: Because it was a long scene. [SPEAKER_00]: We got a lot of content here. [SPEAKER_00]: But I am somebody that has bad ADHD. [SPEAKER_00]: And I focus a whole lot better if my hands are doing something.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so to watch this, I'm like, y'all could not have had this conversation just sitting down talking face-to-face. [SPEAKER_00]: It only works, because Lydia is behind you untangling the 40,000 knots you have in your hair, apparently. [SPEAKER_00]: And that is allowing you guys, because you're focusing on that.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's allowing you guys to speak freely in the way that you ordinary could not. [SPEAKER_00]: But when she was like, yeah, well, talking to you sucks, mom, which is like, oh my god, all right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, so she talks her truth and you're right. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even notice that, but I think the not having eye contact her standing behind made it easier and you don't see the reactions because you see the reactions and you want to just because oh, I don't want to hurt this person.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, this person is judging me. [SPEAKER_01]: So it made it much easier. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, that's a good call out in there. [SPEAKER_01]: Let me take a quick break and I'll be right back. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're back. [SPEAKER_01]: So when [SPEAKER_01]: She says that she was like a brick wall, Lydia looks sad in the confessional.

[SPEAKER_01]: The producer is like, what's going on? [SPEAKER_01]: What's going on? [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, oh, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: And then we get a flashback to her telling of Kim telling them that she's in a relationship and she's saying, like, why is it so quick? [SPEAKER_01]: like I cannot be a supporter of this.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Lydia says she doesn't know how to say it, and this is fascinating, but if Zach were here, Zach would help her put it in words. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is the beginning of codependency. [SPEAKER_01]: This is the beginning of [SPEAKER_01]: Again, not to bring up temptation islands. [SPEAKER_01]: Cheyenne saying, like, oh, I can't do anything without Jack.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like this is what we do. [SPEAKER_01]: We just lean on each other and it's just going to be like, I don't need to think of Zach and we'll figure it out. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll just go home and tell Zach, he's my AI and he'll give me the output of what I'm feeling. [SPEAKER_01]: And at some point, you're not going to know the differentiation between Zach and interpreting what he thinks that you feel versus what you actually feel because you're not going to process it.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that it was a little throwaway line, but I found that very fascinating. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I'm worried yet, but she's young. [SPEAKER_00]: She's young. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, this is our morning years. [SPEAKER_00]: I had the same thought about the AI part of it. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just like this.

[SPEAKER_00]: This sounds really kind of person that can no longer like make a gross relist unless chat GBT doesn't want to put on there and whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I can understand if he's good with his words and you're not and that's not your strong suit. [SPEAKER_00]: We've never seen Lydia struggle with like how to express something before and I don't actually does struggle with that brand.

[SPEAKER_01]: I will see that. [SPEAKER_00]: But more so than the rest of the family because they all kind of are bad. [SPEAKER_01]: They all cannot communicate. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what? [SPEAKER_01]: You know, oh my god, if I'm saying that the best communicator is my god, that's that's [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they're both bad at it, but I'd be glad.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's keep it moving. [SPEAKER_01]: OK. [SPEAKER_01]: So you in the middle of a point, I get you don't remember? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, should probably not. [SPEAKER_00]: Again, my hands are empty. [SPEAKER_00]: So the ADHD got me again. [SPEAKER_00]: I forgot what I was saying all of you. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you were talking about the AI part and it was a case of that she never struggled.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, it feels like she has come to rely on him a whole lot to fill in the blanks for her. [SPEAKER_00]: where it's like, hey, this is, these are like my disconnected feelings, and he's like, all right, let me put those together and explain to you where this all comes from. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's not a great place to be if your partner is also essentially like your therapist, which is sort of how this was feeling.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, I can't talk about what I'm really feeling without Zack here to kind of show me the way, which is, yeah, not what you want. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like an orange flag. [SPEAKER_01]: Not concerning yet, but it's like, oh no. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's the exact as a terrible guy, but it's just like on her.

[SPEAKER_01]: And also, it could also be the reverse effect of everything that happened with the family. [SPEAKER_01]: I always say people underestimated what Lydia had to take on after the division and the split. [SPEAKER_01]: Maria took off. [SPEAKER_01]: even chose his wife Olivia at the time. [SPEAKER_01]: Mike had to cough also.

[SPEAKER_01]: She was left in the middle to struggle with all of this. [SPEAKER_01]: And she's the one who thinks differently from the rest of the family. [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, what is happening? [SPEAKER_01]: She had to take care of them with their dad. [SPEAKER_01]: She had to do all the things.

[SPEAKER_01]: And basically, our mom left her to do that. [SPEAKER_01]: So maybe now she's just like, I'm not doing this mental load. [SPEAKER_01]: I got a husband now. [SPEAKER_01]: You think for me. [SPEAKER_01]: So they're just like, too. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not saying like, you know, Zach is actually trying to be controlling.

[SPEAKER_01]: He may be I'm just saying like I don't know yet. [SPEAKER_01]: They're not giving us enough context like with most of the shows We're not gonna find out to true nature of their marriage until three years in or something Yeah, then we see what's really happening in that way everything can't be real hot spies of Rhode Island We're just gonna put all the murder problems on front street in the first episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah So Lydia's heart that she was judging her mom and she didn't want that to come across in that way at all [SPEAKER_01]: So she does tell her mom that she sees that she's happy. [SPEAKER_01]: They've had time with the ups and downs. [SPEAKER_01]: They seem to be in an up and the girls seem to be happy and they like him and she tells her that she approves.

[SPEAKER_01]: And before she even gets it out her mouth, Kim is already crying and talking her and saying, thank you so much. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, a little part of me wondered if it was put on, like she put him, like him, like Vashi put him on a lot, was it was that genuine motion? [SPEAKER_00]: I, I've we wound it and watched it again because I was like, I know what it's like when I am trying to hold it together and then I break because I'm an easy cryer anyway.

[SPEAKER_00]: So like I know what that kind of looks like for me. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, when she had that sudden moment where she's kind of busted up and started crying, I was like, I want to see what your face is doing before that. [SPEAKER_00]: So, it was, it was, I didn't see a chin quiver, I didn't see like, you know, any redness in her face as she was trying to like hold it at, it just kind of happened all of a sudden.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know, I don't want to doubt her emotions, because again, this whole family has weird fucking emotions. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't show their emotions the way that you would expect. [SPEAKER_00]: But it was a touching moment. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if we are to believe that was genuine, that was very sweet.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm happy that Lydia got to say what she had to say and that Kim was, [SPEAKER_00]: able to hear it without turning it around to what took you so long or in any of that. [SPEAKER_00]: So whatever it's good I guess. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: If they let get I love it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: Once again, Barry for the love of God, get some friends your age because why are you walking into the same damn restaurant with Zach and saying like he's the person you go to when you need to talk with a guy like I just first your sons and then now Zach like [SPEAKER_01]: Even Kim had friends.

[SPEAKER_01]: Those friends that didn't tribute for even though like it felt like a genel situation like are these your friends like are these your friends like are these your co-worker like who are these people? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know where they came from but Kim has friends like at least she has someone to talk to.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they go to that same one restaurant with their workouts, their dinosaurs and its Georgios and the owner is like a friend of the family or he [SPEAKER_01]: at so come the Georgios so listen you guys Barry wants to convince us that he's ready to date, but I am not convinced. [SPEAKER_01]: Very reminds me of Carl from summer house.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I want Carl to be together. [SPEAKER_01]: The only difference is that we've seen Carl in his fuckboy phase so I can kind of make it make sense that you know he's going through a whole transformational change and all that but Barry we've seen just married to one woman and the woman said he didn't even put any effort so that's just I don't understand but he's obsessed with having wingmen he's more obsessed talking about dating than actually doing the dating and [SPEAKER_01]: Zach saying that he's more in tune on how to date is laughable.

[SPEAKER_01]: You better date it. [SPEAKER_00]: You didn't date Lydia. [SPEAKER_00]: You guys met and then got married in our later. [SPEAKER_00]: The thing with this whole scene for me was the performative inviting you to be an official wingman, like what the fuck are we, you know, how you don't get a girl at act like that?

[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to get everyone the Ick. [SPEAKER_00]: If you're over here, like, nighting somebody as one of your wingmen, this was bizarre to me, all it was. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was, it was just insane. [SPEAKER_01]: What was hilarious was the Georgia owner, right, him saying, we are going to find the right guy for Barry and the producers saying, you don't want to say that again.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the fact that the producers did not take that out and he left it in, it took me out. [SPEAKER_01]: It was hilarious. [SPEAKER_00]: This whole interaction is like the most homo erotic scene, I think TLC is ever put on TV. [SPEAKER_00]: And it feels like there's actively trolling barrier at this point, because he doesn't understand how any of this is coming across.

[SPEAKER_01]: He does not because the next thing he's like, oh, I'm fun of these guys and who knows what's next? [SPEAKER_01]: What's gonna happen on guys nights? [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, uh, uh, very... Oh, I'm up. [SPEAKER_01]: You can just see the producers being like, yes, we got it, we got it.

[SPEAKER_01]: we can make this work. [SPEAKER_01]: So they go in and next thing we see is Kim and Lydia just walk in. [SPEAKER_01]: But someone who says that she doesn't like being in the orbit of Barry, Kim is always in the orbit of Barry because did she have to come in? [SPEAKER_01]: Did she not peek and if he's there just walk away?

[SPEAKER_01]: Are you telling me no one texted like Lydia didn't say hey we're in our ways? [SPEAKER_01]: Like okay cool. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm chilling with Barry and you're just like, I'll pass you had to come in here and Zack is not wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: They keep talking about dating and it's like my the exes here and that she has a boyfriend, but they're talking about him dating and we get a sneak peek or a little peek as to what maybe Zack's peek is with him because I don't care what they say.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think Zack has beef with him or he's not [SPEAKER_01]: Barry comes to lunch with us every Sunday, but Kim just does not reach out except when she needs something and it's like, oh, come help me do that. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, can Kim gives user aura. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, she gives like I'm a user.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like what can I get from you? [SPEAKER_01]: That's transactional to myself. [SPEAKER_01]: Every exactly everything is phenomenal. [SPEAKER_01]: So Lydia organically brings up, oh, I heard you're trying to start dating dad and I'm like, okay, that was so smooth and so natural [SPEAKER_01]: And he came and said, he's free to do what it is, the divorce is final and also it's been five years since we separated.

[SPEAKER_00]: Five. [SPEAKER_01]: Has it been five years? [SPEAKER_00]: That's that's why I had no idea it was that long. [SPEAKER_01]: Did they separate before we even knew? [SPEAKER_01]: Is that they must have? [SPEAKER_00]: They must have because I, I mean that's Considering when they filmed this show, they were separated like right when COVID hit basically, which seems like a very long time ago for them to be separated.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was like, is this something that we shouldn't have known, but what's happening right now? [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, but then in a confessional, she says like, she can't imagine going that long without dating, and the producers like, is there anything else you can't imagine not going that long without?

[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, well, the way she handles this, the the I'm trying to think of who else is really immature about sex like this. [SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of like sister wives were like if you if you ask Mary any question about flirtation or sexuality, she doesn't look a 13 year old. [SPEAKER_00]: And what what what what what what what what do you mean what what are you talking about and I'm just like I think talk the last you may get to talk them about yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's, and if Kim would just like, yes, I also need to get my dick wet sometimes and I'm like, all right, that makes sense to me. [SPEAKER_00]: This is where adults talking about this. [SPEAKER_00]: You have a thousand children. [SPEAKER_00]: We know that sex is not something that you're like weird about.

[SPEAKER_00]: but yeah, her reaction to that, I'm like, we've never seen her act as able forever. [SPEAKER_01]: She was born. [SPEAKER_01]: It took her a minute, but she got there. [SPEAKER_01]: But I think the final thing was, what was it that we're gonna do? [SPEAKER_01]: And Lydia was like, you're not gonna meet girls there because Barry's again trying to come business that he's ready to date, but it's like, yeah, let's do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Good night. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's go let's go axe throw in which like I didn't that feels like a very 2018 thing to me I didn't know axe throw and we're still that guy puts a pickle ball. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like that's really down to the axe throw [SPEAKER_01]: well he's more excited to do guys night than actually date and I think that's okay if he's not ready to date and he just wants to hang out I'll be more it's more believable that he would want to go find guy friends because maybe he's never had the opportunity to have friends as an adult and it would be like oh I'm joining a bowling league just to see if I could meet some friends as an adult that would be more [SPEAKER_01]: Believable to me like if you don't want a day, you don't really like you're gonna be pressured into dating because You're gonna involve somebody who might actually have feelings and then it becomes a whole thing and then you become like I say can you break up with them in the truck?

[SPEAKER_00]: Right Tell them to turn their minds off So We're after the hay ride [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, so that's it for this week's installation. [SPEAKER_01]: We will be back in the next two weeks to talk about episode four and five. [SPEAKER_01]: Is there anything else? [SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot of Taylor Taylor the weird friend that was there all of a sudden.

[SPEAKER_00]: Barry's Barry's ex gay friend. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you can talk about it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the star of the show. [SPEAKER_00]: So that guy, okay, I was really confused because at first I'm like, oh, okay, the show has understood how homophobic they all come across and so they have manufactured a gay friend to show because he had that whole thing where he's like, what I think about how accepted and love the [SPEAKER_00]: This man's social media has given him away.

[SPEAKER_00]: He is like an ex gay activist, where he's like, I have overcome my same sex attraction. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm really, yeah, there's a lot of, a lot of Bible verses about like shaming, sexual sin, and stuff like that is what a social media is all about. [SPEAKER_00]: and he didn't say it on the show.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm getting the impression he's like, I'm not going to date women, but I'm also not going to date men because that is sinful. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just going to like deny myself the romantic needs and the sexual needs that I have because that is not acceptable. [SPEAKER_00]: which is not how the show presented him.

[SPEAKER_00]: They basically, yeah, I was with a man for a long time and very, really helped me, you know, when that breakup happened to whatever I'm like, oh, okay, I'm trying to show me your cool gay people. [SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm cool what somebody went through conversion therapy is basically what happened with this guy.
