[SPEAKER_00]: Hi everybody, welcome to Tain Talks. [SPEAKER_00]: Another episode here for welcome to Platville season eight, episode 12, aka the finale that I did not know was the finale. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm your host surprise. [SPEAKER_00]: Here is always his Brian from Masherjin, what up Brian? [SPEAKER_01]: What up?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was equally surprised. [SPEAKER_01]: There was a finale. [SPEAKER_01]: And like it didn't feel like it was until the very last couple of minutes. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, oh, this is coming out of nowhere. [SPEAKER_00]: I did not even feel it guys like so that means like apologies that this is coming late because apparently this happened like a week ago Covered by weekly so I watched it did not get an inkling.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was just like oh these people are doing this on the one-year anniversary how mean like intervention for me and then moved on with my life [SPEAKER_00]: Then I'm looking for episode 13. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, where the hell is it? [SPEAKER_00]: It's not here. [SPEAKER_00]: Did we miss it?

[SPEAKER_00]: I check and they were like, people might cause it is like, potful finale. [SPEAKER_00]: They're blah, blah, I'm like, wait, what? [SPEAKER_00]: And then I text Brian. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, what? [SPEAKER_00]: This is what they're gonna do. [SPEAKER_01]: It's messed up to do a surprise finale for a show that has no reunion.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it just all of sudden stops. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then you know what's if you know they usually have those things at the bottom like TLC be like whatever show premiering in zero point, whatever minutes or this isn't finale but there was none of that there was no problem. [SPEAKER_00]: No nothing and it's just so bizarre and with that's this question before what is TLC doing with their programming like besides 90 day fiancee we've had those six episodes one and done shows we've had like how many of those [SPEAKER_00]: They have not invested into anything long-term.

[SPEAKER_00]: Platform is one of the, you know, few legacy shows left. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is how you do them. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't, it's all weird to me. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, I, I've said before there was a weird moment where TLC could have gone a few different directions. [SPEAKER_01]: It could have gone the gypsy route because they had like gypsy sisters and big fed American gypsy wedding.

[SPEAKER_01]: It could have gone the little people route because they had big people a little world was a little bit more of a big deal for a man. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, little Johnston's or it could have gone the 90 day route and that's the one that it went with and kind of went into that. [SPEAKER_01]: They just have little singles.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's their new pivot and they're going to try to, I haven't watched it yet, but like [SPEAKER_01]: It seems like they don't really have a direction what they're planning on doing. [SPEAKER_01]: They've tried, they tried to bring the Amherst thing back and you saw how bad that went.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like they're trying to find something but they're not committing to anything. [SPEAKER_01]: They should have just stuck with I love Mama's boy, smothered, extreme sisters, give me weird, uncomfortable family dynamics, because you can do that forever and those were, they felt very produced, but like those were at least funny to watch.

[SPEAKER_01]: But they have no real direction right now. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it feels like they are ashamed of their own shows. [SPEAKER_01]: So, they're not even promoting it. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm never getting screened from TLC after this. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it feels, yeah, it feels like they're ashamed of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we're not getting promo, we're not getting anything. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, even if you think the shows, we're not showing what's happening. [SPEAKER_00]: Promote the shit out of it and see what happens. [SPEAKER_00]: But if we don't even know this for Plasma, the new shows have no chance, you know?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, it's they're they're marketing is a is in a weird place right now and I don't know what their long-term plan is you know well The ego worse, you know now when you Google it gives you AI results even though you didn't ask for it Which you know so AI tells me the season finale of platform happened on whatever data was it Apparently was the series finale and TLC has no interest in continuing with the series and that's done and I'm like [SPEAKER_01]: take that for what it's worth.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure if it's still this way now, but for the first like year of our podcast, if you searched for our podcast, AI said that it was a show about Merit at First Site hosted by two sexless adults because we're mass version and it would it would have like it got more and more like complicated and and detailed as time went on and we had more episodes, but the last line was always like and surviving life as a sexless adult and I'm [SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't mean anything, can you get your kid in other ways?

[SPEAKER_01]: It was very much just like when the person was like, what it's like dating as a virgin, as an adult or whatever, and just like that's not, but we ever talk about, but yeah, I don't know how accurate that is, because I just AI is, oh, I'll have a whole rant about it if I get on about it, but I don't, I don't think TLC's made that decision yet.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: because they're probably waiting to see what the response is to this season and what program looks like for next season, all that. [SPEAKER_00]: What's the response to this so well, they have good ratings and still wish to get it. [SPEAKER_01]: Huge ratings. [SPEAKER_00]: And we're thinking of if you're not a mass virgin anymore, might need to switch up on that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, I mean, we should rebrand at this point. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me know if you need some tips. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, just to remind the guys, patreon.com slash taint talks, bonus episodes, video episodes, at free episodes, covering 90 day last resort over there. [SPEAKER_00]: And maternal instinct, a Netflix cover that also, so sometimes I do documentary.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you can check that out, regular feed. [SPEAKER_00]: I have regular 90 day fiancee had Jason over, and we talked about [SPEAKER_00]: the couples on 90 day fiancee and also still covering couples therapy have a few episodes to go for those who don't know if you're not chronically online, maps is coming back season 20 it's a monumental season I guess, you know, but it's coming back.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's the first officially peacock produced season seven couples according to not just mashmen. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess peacock did release that July 12 is going to be the first episode which is a Sunday which is weird. [SPEAKER_00]: But it looks like subsequently he's going to be on Thursday, according to MASHION, we haven't gotten the official schedule from peacock to new experts, because as we know, they cleaned house on all the experts.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we have Paul Branson, who was most recently an expert on MASHIONK. [SPEAKER_00]: He is American, but he's over in the UK. [SPEAKER_00]: He has a popular podcast we need to talk. [SPEAKER_00]: You can check that out and check him out and then Dr. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to say pass it's her name So it's just two experts, so that's it So we'll see how that goes the most important news out of there.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean seven couples, but they cast a reality star I mean we were so off in the preview for season 19. [SPEAKER_00]: We heard a bunch of oh I know you your reality and we're all trying to gas people are like JR and whoever know it's Nick Nick has been on the circle [SPEAKER_00]: battle camp and perfect match.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, don't know what that means for the show, but we'll find out all together when he comes back. [SPEAKER_00]: July 12th. [SPEAKER_00]: So, okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Pacfield. [SPEAKER_00]: The sneak attack intervention from hell continues with Kim and her just acting like this was also natural and is like, oh, does anyone want to say anything else?

[SPEAKER_00]: and Ethan, you know, brings it up like I don't want to be mad at you, Zach, but if you see us do anything wrong, like, you know, like card games or the shows, unless you're asked about it, then keep your opinions to yourself. [SPEAKER_00]: Lydia is crying at this point, like just here streaming down silently.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like weed is crying because like this is not the ambush of it all has like emotionally messed her up. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't I don't necessarily disagree with what Ethan is saying in this moment because like if I'm having a good time don't like rain on my parade until me I shouldn't be having fun what I'm doing but like [SPEAKER_01]: to do it on their one-year anniversary is crazy, to do it as like a big circle conversation, whereas this is one of the things you could just take it with a side-by-hand, like just so you know, the way that you did this kind of room in the wrong way, I'd appreciate it next time if you have a different way.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's all this needs to be. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't need to be a huge circle conversation with teagun here for some reason, like all of it is just such a strange way to handle this. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the equivalent of the scene from Game of Thrones, where it was like Shane, Shane, Shane, like it's just a public flugging at this point.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, bringing that bell through and writing food at them. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot going on. [SPEAKER_00]: And to your point, I don't know why Tegan is here. [SPEAKER_00]: We've been asking all season why she's here, because she literally had to fly to be here and come to this thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Kaleen is not even here.

[SPEAKER_00]: She's actual girlfriend. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like a town, you're not here. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, can't hear. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't know why he's part of this. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's all. [SPEAKER_01]: Kaleen being there in Tegan, not is a strange thing. [SPEAKER_01]: You're right. [SPEAKER_00]: opposite, taking me there and keep on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I did. [SPEAKER_00]: So it is ironic that Kim and her mismatch makeup follows this with, we are all family, but you shut your mouth, basically. [SPEAKER_00]: We're a large family of adults, and we have to give latitude for us to have different lives.

[SPEAKER_00]: The goal is not to pick in anybody, and then they proceed to pick them. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, Ethan does a confessional saying like, Zach is pulling family members, specifically the girls and telling them what they're doing wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: Zach continues and says like, you know, a Montana, they'll knew that, you know, he and Lydia were not going to participate in the games.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they did have a great time outside of that, but he just felt like, you know, they were doing that and Amber is trying to get baptized. [SPEAKER_00]: She's a new believer. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's important that, you know, she doesn't engage in the stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: and then he says once he realized this, he apologized, he thought they came to a resolution.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I guess that's where I'm just like, was this came in the producer saying, okay, we could milk this because they felt like they've worked through it. [SPEAKER_00]: Even when I uh, the coward, when she went into the kitchen to make the cake says like, you know, we talked about it and it just like, it seems like they've worked through it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So while we're bringing this up again, except like stretch it out and create some kind of story, is what I'm thinking. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think you're absolutely right. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that this family doesn't know how to handle like emotional conversations well at all, but that doesn't mean they just don't have them.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they have them badly off camera often. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what happened here. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like the each kind of individually tackled the issues that they were having. [SPEAKER_01]: And then they're like, well, we have nothing for this surprise finale. [SPEAKER_01]: I guess it's all just have it at one time instead of individual conversations now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yes, he mentions that he spoke to Mariah until there, you know, be aware of the examples. [SPEAKER_00]: She still, I mean, she confirms that they work through it, but that she did tell him to work on building relationships with everybody so they know your safe space when they want advice instead of picking them apart.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I hate to be a, I see both sides bitch, but I see both sides because the, the truth is there is some truth to what he's saying, which we're going to go through, but also Zach, you do not have enough equity, you just got here, son. [SPEAKER_00]: You can't go around peaking around, picking the girls and telling them, this is your walk with the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have to do, they have parents. [SPEAKER_00]: They have older siblings. [SPEAKER_00]: You can't come on. [SPEAKER_00]: They're already don't like you. [SPEAKER_00]: Now if they don't like you, [SPEAKER_00]: If they liked him, if he was someone that, you know, they respected or like, like, let's say the good old days when they did like Olivia.

[SPEAKER_00]: If she said, like, oh, she's like my big sister, that's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: Ethan is not going to tell his wife. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't say anything. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, there's all my siblings because they did like her at the time. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't like you. [SPEAKER_00]: It didn't start up on a good foot.

[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: Zach is one of those people that's just gifted at being annoying. [SPEAKER_00]: Like he doesn't have to do. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: You're just annoying. [SPEAKER_00]: And I can see how he said how he said it to them. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's just, you know, just shut up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, he's he's Brittany from Salt Lake City like you're not inherently doing anything wrong and necessarily but you're annoying the hell out of me like everything you just annoys me. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry Brittany does a lot of things wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: So she does annoying, but yes, she does a lot of things like, you know, I can't believe that she lasted this long way.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's not what we heard that, you know, the sisters called him and they were like, they feel trapped and I'm like, oh, this family, they're so suffocating. [SPEAKER_01]: They really are. [SPEAKER_00]: But the sisters are there. [SPEAKER_00]: If you're going to have the younger kids there, speak up.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're there looking at the ground, but it's like, don't let the men speak up for you. [SPEAKER_00]: But like, I mean, yes, that's your brother, you know, protect you or whatever the hell. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, they don't have a dad that's there and just confuse us. [SPEAKER_00]: So what the hell is going on?

[SPEAKER_00]: They speak up and say what happened and speak up and say, yeah, we talked about it, but it was just a long car right, and I'm just telling my brother what happened, but you're staring at the ground, you just Who's that to the wolves and that's where it feels more like an ambush. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, because it is, I mean, they're they're basically here as props.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're here so that everyone can point at them and say, see the people you hurt. [SPEAKER_01]: That's basically what they're here for. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Zach looks so sad. [SPEAKER_00]: He was just like, I didn't know that I made Cayling and Amber like feel that uncomfortable. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I truly thought we had worked through it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then Ethan was like, well, I mean, didn't ask for your opinion, me. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, well, neither did Lydia when you came for her husband and called him day. [SPEAKER_00]: No one asked you, you just went right ahead [SPEAKER_01]: The whole family pulled her into like a little side cabin to be like, do not marry this gay man tomorrow.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, you guys she didn't ask for that either. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And then he says again, I'm not trying to get on you and then proceed to get on him. [SPEAKER_00]: And Zach says like listen, I just I wanted to speak up because you guys know that we're not going to participate.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know our lifestyle, you know, we're not going to participate in things like that. [SPEAKER_00]: And it feels like for us to hang out with you, we have to do things that we're uncomfortable with, which is why I say I see both sides because that is kind of partly true. [SPEAKER_00]: And Ethan is like, well, is that on the host of the guests?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, what does that mean? [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I understand in a normal setting, he's like, if you're coming to my house and I'm doing things that like, you don't wanna do. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you can just accept that we're gonna do different things. [SPEAKER_01]: That's on you making a big deal about it.

[SPEAKER_01]: When it's family and the reason that I don't wanna do these things is because we were all raised to hate these things, they didn't give us a little bit difference. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I also see both sides. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that Lydia and Zach could do the most couples would do, which is like go to the thing and then talk shit about it like on the drive home, which is just like the healthy way to handle this, but I think they are drawing a weird line in the sand to basically be like, if you want us to hang out, you have to do things that we are comfortable with and anything we're uncomfortable with means that like you don't want us around.

[SPEAKER_01]: That is a weird line in the draw. [SPEAKER_00]: It is. [SPEAKER_00]: And with Zach's personality, where maybe he was a big fish and a little pond, but he comes to the platform and you literally, you don't even have a pond. [SPEAKER_00]: And in some weird way, he does want to be accepted by them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, well, I'm just going to act like a big brother. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, sir, too soon, probationary. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: If you get hired, you have 90 days before you get your confirmed. [SPEAKER_00]: And you're skipping all of that to be like, mid, me manager, you just started and you left, you know, I'm [SPEAKER_00]: All right, let me take our first break and then we'll be right back.

[SPEAKER_00]: okay, we are back. [SPEAKER_00]: So Kim mentions this very specific example and is like, okay, so like if you come to my house and I have alcohol up there, it doesn't mean that you have to drink the alcohol which is just weird because again, you started this show, you know, for shits and giggles, I'm going to go back and watch season one, honestly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh boy. [SPEAKER_00]: It really creeped me out. [SPEAKER_00]: It was just a bunch of them together and it was just, uh, this is a bunch of barefooted blonde kid. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know anything about anything. [SPEAKER_00]: where it was like you couldn't even have sugar or soda or anything and now we're just casually alcohol and all that anyways and you don't have to drink but you know if you don't want to do it like you don't have to and Zack is like yeah we know we don't have to but he just feels like we're not welcome because it is that kind of thing where it's like yeah you don't have to do it but when you don't do it everyone still kind of makes you feel awkward like hey look at those

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: No, you're right. [SPEAKER_01]: You're right. [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be like, huh? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I guess if we are all having pizza at the pizza party and you want celery, that's just kind of not the whole thing feels. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and people get so weird about it, like, you know, there's been a period of times where it's just like, you know what?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to drink alcohol. [SPEAKER_00]: And the minute you're just like, oh, I'm not drinking. [SPEAKER_00]: People who aren't drinking get so weird. [SPEAKER_00]: Why? [SPEAKER_00]: What's wrong? [SPEAKER_00]: Are you not drinking? [SPEAKER_00]: Just a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: Have some fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: Who said I can't have fun without alcohol? [SPEAKER_00]: So it's almost like, if, you know, kind of like Moriah, which is like, don't make me feel bad because I'm drinking or you know, nobody's shaming you. [SPEAKER_00]: If you want to drink, they don't want to, that has nothing to do with you drinking, but somehow they take you like, you know, wanting to drink thing, you feel like you're better than me.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's, that's a, you problem. [SPEAKER_01]: I, you know, it's weird insecurity to have, but yeah, you have it. [SPEAKER_00]: Going on there. [SPEAKER_00]: So, but Zack, being Zack, he's like, well, I still feel like they're making decisions. [SPEAKER_00]: That aren't so good. [SPEAKER_00]: He says that in the confessional and the producer is like, like, what?

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you mean the card games are something Zack is like, please, let me get to my point, please. [SPEAKER_00]: I watched this twice, right? [SPEAKER_00]: I watched it the first time thinking, like, I had this another episode, like, not fully detailed. [SPEAKER_00]: Then when I watched it the second time, because we are going to get another lemme answer my questions.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna let you finish moment. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't realize it was the second one. [SPEAKER_00]: So he did this to the previous second. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, you're interrupting my thoughts. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me get to my point. [SPEAKER_00]: Please look like, Zach, who do you think you are, though?

[SPEAKER_01]: I am the star of the show. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm the captain now. [SPEAKER_00]: Now when Ethan is around, because Ethan doesn't have to do much. [SPEAKER_00]: Like the way they all adore Ethan. [SPEAKER_00]: All he has to show up in his black t-shirt and it's like that. [SPEAKER_00]: What does that Western music do?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they put it on the good of the bad of the ugly. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the wire. [SPEAKER_00]: Ethan is coming. [SPEAKER_00]: Ethan's here. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we are tumble weed and blow us by for some reason. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's the number one guy in the group. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, whether it's like playing games or watching shows are good, but basically it just makes them cringe. [SPEAKER_00]: And here's where I also feel like it goes both ways. [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of the times when people are like, everybody's have the right to do whatever they want to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's always in favor of [SPEAKER_00]: The liberal part like hey if I want to if I want to drink that's fine if I want to have sex before marriage Then that's what I want to do, but there's no space for people that want to do the opposite I don't want to drink. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to curse.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to wait till I get married to have my first kiss it's not [SPEAKER_00]: Just it shouldn't be a one way street where we only give allowances because on one side to the part where you're more free doing that, you may not understand it. [SPEAKER_00]: I sure as hell don't understand how me your first kiss in your wedding, but if that's the life that they choose to, we should allow them to have that.

[SPEAKER_00]: and not be like, well, that's, you're the weird one. [SPEAKER_00]: Why does it go that way? [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's what's happening here. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, if we wanna drink that's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: If I wanna have sex with Tegan before she's married, that's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: But if you wanna wait, well, you're getting your weird.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's, it's not fair. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, I think this family is just so used to being judgmental on everyone else in general. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's just how they operate, and even though they're the switcheru, the switcheruers, but go ahead. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter.

[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not, it's not, there's no ideological consistency here. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not like we're judging you because you've always felt this way. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just what we do is inherently correct. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you do it differently than us, I'm going to judge you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Even if you're doing what I was doing six months ago, I don't do that anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: So now you're wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: It's how this whole family works. [SPEAKER_01]: It is a, it is a, a judgey, shame-based family. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you have to be flexible today, more drink tomorrow.

[SPEAKER_00]: Kim says children have sex. [SPEAKER_00]: So you know what's the going on? [SPEAKER_00]: Who cares that I thought you'd just be years, switch out? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's fine now. [SPEAKER_01]: But this man he's grown on. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, so um, X axis like they're just things like I feel like a 16-year-old [SPEAKER_00]: He's not wrong, he's just not the parent.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not your, this is not your place. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't often say that as like a phrase, this is not his place. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not your place to tell them, because they're 16, you know, they're not, you know, six. [SPEAKER_01]: So at this point, it's like, okay, they're gonna be adults in a couple of years.

[SPEAKER_01]: They have parents who are clearly okay what they're doing. [SPEAKER_01]: They seem comfortable doing what they're doing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's weird, feeders, we wouldn't be like, no, no, no, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_01]: You are too young for this. [SPEAKER_01]: I have decided. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and Zach has accomplished a feat. [SPEAKER_00]: He made us agree with Barry, because Barry says that. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Zach is exerting himself in a jurisdiction he just shouldn't be concerned about, like, listen, Amber's 16, I trust Amber. [SPEAKER_00]: She is gonna make mistakes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let her do it, let her have it. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm okay with it. [SPEAKER_00]: So if they're okay with it, who are you Zachary from nowhere? [SPEAKER_00]: You only knew Lydia like three months coming from nowhere. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't know anything about anything and here you are, you know, giving us all the rules and the regulations and how we're supposed to behave like this is I would be mad about this too if this happened in my family [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and also Zach, you remember how we felt when people were like, you don't know her, you're getting married, why are you doing this?

[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't like it. [SPEAKER_00]: So why would you think that was okay? [SPEAKER_00]: And also I'm still mad that we don't get to see his parents. [SPEAKER_00]: I just feel like if we use his family, we would understand a little more of why he's this way. [SPEAKER_00]: I think. [SPEAKER_01]: Look, I don't remember.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so, um, man is like, listen, if someone asks advice, you can give it, but if not, just don't say anything. [SPEAKER_00]: like just a little less stress and also you have heads up the platform they've been on TV on less sack doesn't watch TV well that is part of what is complain about huh yeah you have experience with how this group goes so I don't even know why you think you have to say anything [SPEAKER_00]: So Kim appreciates, you know, Kim is like, listen, I appreciate that they care about Amber.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'd rather do this than not care at all. [SPEAKER_00]: And I do admit she doesn't admit, like, listen, we've let up on a lot of things, like, Barry and I, but ultimately, there are kids. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to decide and, you know, you can't win because some people have said that we're too conservative and then now they're like, we're doing too much.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if he thinks it's bad, then [SPEAKER_00]: damn it. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a good point. [SPEAKER_00]: That's true. [SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, good point. [SPEAKER_00]: So Lydia's like, we've apologized and we've learned we're just not going to give her opinions from now. [SPEAKER_00]: Zach and the confessional keeps going.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's just like, well, we're hearing so many things about T again from everyone else and I just wanted to hear it from Ethan directly and I just asked [SPEAKER_00]: Ethan, like, was up. [SPEAKER_00]: Again, you know how this family operates. [SPEAKER_00]: You especially know how Ethan operates.

[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't want to talk to you. [SPEAKER_00]: Not even his partners. [SPEAKER_00]: No, he talks to you. [SPEAKER_00]: He hates you. [SPEAKER_00]: No matter what he's doing. [SPEAKER_01]: He wants to talk to you. [SPEAKER_01]: Like a Lincoln engine block, is all he wants to talk to you. [SPEAKER_00]: So even if you wanted to confirm the fact, [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that desire to know the truth and just we're for the gossip like everybody else in the family and go and it's coming Even says he was not looking for his opinion and Zach was like I wasn't giving it I was just trying to figure out what was true It was not and now I'm curious because I do things acting the truth I do think they talked about he again, but the model of the family is like Act like it doesn't exist.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's just like throw it on the [SPEAKER_00]: Throw it on the rug, carpet, whichever, and act like within exists. [SPEAKER_00]: Zach, don't come here trying to be a truth. [SPEAKER_00]: Tell her, nobody cares about the truth. [SPEAKER_01]: So, no, no, this is my always push it down deep.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm curious, I'm curious now what she did to him. [SPEAKER_00]: So, how do I if you didn't want to know about what I didn't know? [SPEAKER_00]: And maybe that's why she shows up. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, we have something over her. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: I bet she talked for like an hour.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's edited the whole thing out. [SPEAKER_00]: So like I said, Lydia has been crying this whole time and saying like, you know, she's just misunderstood and it hurts her like he hasn't always been perfect, but he's heart has been Zach tears up and says like, you know, he's still trying to be a brother and then Zach brings up that, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: they do a lot of what they want.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just like, say, hey, now you're just beating a dead horse. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you're not going to change what they want to do. [SPEAKER_00]: And, but he was segueing into Barry and the girls are great. [SPEAKER_00]: I was stopping by to see them. [SPEAKER_00]: But the rest of them feels like they don't want to hang out.

[SPEAKER_00]: Isaac is just like, it's not because we don't want to hang out. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, we're busy. [SPEAKER_00]: We don't have time. [SPEAKER_00]: I try to hang out when we can. [SPEAKER_00]: But I just don't have any time. [SPEAKER_00]: The thing that gets me is that like I said, Lydia's been crying, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Can ignore his Lydia's tears like, maybe not just Kim, but no one says anything. [SPEAKER_00]: No one's like, you know, we're not trying to make you feel bad. [SPEAKER_00]: We just want to say things of me on it. [SPEAKER_00]: We do just nothing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: They just sit there like, well, that's weird anyway, like they don't, they don't seem to care about this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh no, it's just, yeah, me and Lydia says in a confessional a year ago today was one of the hardest times in my life and now I'm just in a cloud. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess this is a second hardest year. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, here we go again. [SPEAKER_00]: So came to the confessional says. [SPEAKER_00]: They like to say like they're not hanging like we don't hang out with them, but that is absolutely not true.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I go hang out with them. [SPEAKER_00]: I got cheesecake for Zack because this is birthday and I know he likes cheesecake and Tegan says I have not been around the family a lot but I see that Zack is trying to make it seem like they're excluded from a lot of things but from what I've seen it's not true.

[SPEAKER_00]: but having been around the family a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: This was so unnecessary and the black you know the history of this family. [SPEAKER_01]: So if I were to be like, yeah, I'm sure what they're saying is true. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just like, why would you think that? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, Tegan is an exception.

[SPEAKER_00]: They like Tegan. [SPEAKER_00]: She is not having a stricter in law, girlfriend treatment and it's kind of like, well, [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe this is a strong reach, but you know, like when people will like, well, it happens to me so it doesn't exist. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you don't exist, we all love each other.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see color. [SPEAKER_00]: So it doesn't exist. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, just because it doesn't happen to you, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: He getting his coming from like, you're out there, see like a whole public, uh, flugging going on out there and you're telling me, oh, well, they don't like on their anniversary, come on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like nothing about that is normal. [SPEAKER_00]: So you're right. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so she's like, it just feels like they want to be catered to 100% and that's not going to happen. [SPEAKER_00]: Again, I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a he said she said, is it true? [SPEAKER_00]: The Zach have high expectations.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe, like, I think he's feeding off of Lydia. [SPEAKER_00]: Lydia is a classic middle child, right? [SPEAKER_00]: She feels out of place. [SPEAKER_00]: She's the only one that has the same core values. [SPEAKER_00]: The little have no choice now. [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone's switched up. [SPEAKER_00]: So they're going to opposite to, [SPEAKER_00]: it's not Moriah, it's not Ethan, it's not Michael.

[SPEAKER_00]: So none of them are really issues she's by herself. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think Zach is just, you know, looking at it through those lens, they're aligned in their values. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's just, I don't know, feeling like an outsider and then expecting like, you know, you guys should cater to her.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think they just didn't handle the transition well. [SPEAKER_00]: And I wish Kim would talk about that. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, she did, but not in-depth. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, the same way they're navigating, you know, the death of Joshua, keeping his memory and how to handle that whole thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: How do you handle that you raised us a certain way for so many years? [SPEAKER_00]: You wake up, decide that it's not what you want anymore. [SPEAKER_00]: And then my life is upside down. [SPEAKER_00]: So like, was my childhood, like, what is tangible now? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not rooted anymore anymore.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's not anger. [SPEAKER_01]: You have no anchor to hold me with all of the values that I got from my whole childhood. [SPEAKER_01]: And so now I'm just kind of a drift. [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, that, again, you said it puts Lydia into a weird position because she's the only one doing what they were all raised to do.

[SPEAKER_01]: And now the family's like, what's wrong with you? [SPEAKER_01]: Why are you doing that? [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, well, that's what you told me to do for my whole life. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it's almost like, was all my memories? [SPEAKER_00]: Is it a fever dream? [SPEAKER_00]: Who can I talk to about, like, no one can relate?

[SPEAKER_00]: He's cleaning to Zack and like I've I've always expressed you know concern about that. [SPEAKER_00]: That's Zach being her whole world is just Concerning and he's just using that and you know taking that and running American instead of like a light jog. [SPEAKER_01]: So [SPEAKER_00]: Um, who was I?

[SPEAKER_00]: So yes, I like I said, and Kim says I do try to hang out with them. [SPEAKER_00]: I six says he does hang out with them. [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know what is or isn't. [SPEAKER_00]: Is it ever going to be enough? [SPEAKER_00]: For that, I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't know if he's comparing it to like when Ethan is around and everyone's just like catering to him and everyone is around wanting to be around Ethan versus they because he does mention we're 45 minutes away.

[SPEAKER_00]: He shouldn't be that hard. [SPEAKER_00]: So [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think his in patience is a problem here because like [SPEAKER_01]: You know, in law and your family relationships can be not necessarily, they can be difficult, but they just they take a while. [SPEAKER_01]: You're, it's like playing double Dutch.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have to like hop it at the right time and then keep your timing. [SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, like, you're going to mess everything up. [SPEAKER_01]: So in my mind, I'm like, you expect to basically be Ethan part two in a year of being part of this family. [SPEAKER_01]: It all likelihood unless something goes wrong, you're going to be with these same people 30 years from now.

[SPEAKER_01]: 30 years from now, maybe you're going to have a much stronger and close relationship because you've had that time to build that. [SPEAKER_01]: But like to expect to be to be welcome in to this family, does not welcome outside hers. [SPEAKER_01]: In a years time is like, that's unrealistic.

[SPEAKER_01]: And to do it in a way where you're like, listen, I know the right way. [SPEAKER_01]: You guys are doing wrong is for sure not going to work. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, just rethink your approach, man. [SPEAKER_01]: Like maybe you're part of the problem here. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he is. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're all like at fault in some way.

[SPEAKER_00]: Regardless of what happens, the plats are always at fault. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, nobody has clean hands here. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, I take a second break and I'll be right back. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, we're back. [SPEAKER_00]: So Lydia says like, they don't know how to include themselves.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is after Ethan once again, it's like, don't say anything. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't participate if you don't want to. [SPEAKER_00]: And just don't speak for me and my siblings. [SPEAKER_00]: We get it. [SPEAKER_00]: You've said it so many times. [SPEAKER_00]: And Zach is like, I get it. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just going to shut up.

[SPEAKER_00]: So Lydia says she doesn't know how to include themselves. [SPEAKER_00]: And Kim says, okay, what do you want to do? [SPEAKER_00]: What are some things that you like to do? [SPEAKER_00]: Zack says, bonfires, stuff around the farm came off her suspending the day. [SPEAKER_00]: Fishing can says he'll cook the fish and then in the confessional Zack is like, well, I'm not changing my lifestyle.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're not changing your lifestyle. [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know what's gonna happen out here. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, oh man. [SPEAKER_01]: Look at our fish those humans. [SPEAKER_00]: So that was done. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they had the conversation. [SPEAKER_00]: They're like, I'm glad we got to talk it out.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because in some way, yes, it felt like wrong timing, but also it is what they always talk about. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's just talk about everything. [SPEAKER_00]: It's how the season started. [SPEAKER_00]: So it was full circle and how, you know, it's ending. [SPEAKER_00]: So Barry tells Zach, like he was not familiar and did not know this conversation was not gonna happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, was gonna happen, like if Lydia feels left out, I don't know what Barry feels, like he's allegedly the head of that household and he barely knows what's going on after time. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's completely in the dark looking for his Sandra Bullock. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, that just went into the abyss.

[SPEAKER_00]: No more dating with one day and that was a kid who went. [SPEAKER_00]: He does act like he was exporting opinions into lands that don't want to import. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure he was so proud of himself for that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he thought that was a great metaphor. [SPEAKER_00]: Ethan says like, okay, everyone's walked away.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's sitting with T again and Ethan is like, I mean, I do feel bad for Lydia. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, do you feel bad for Lydia? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: He says, but yeah, I feel better. [SPEAKER_00]: We got to say it better than keeping it in. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, you feel better.

[SPEAKER_00]: The person is the recipient. [SPEAKER_00]: How did they feel? [SPEAKER_00]: He says that he would like to think that he's grown, that he's more empathetic, more understanding, [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, no, you're not. [SPEAKER_00]: You specifically said you only feel bad for Lydia. [SPEAKER_00]: You do not say anything about Zack because you hate him.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't care anything. [SPEAKER_00]: But he does like add like really randomly. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I probably shouldn't have started a serious relationship after my last relationship. [SPEAKER_00]: Like what? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm related. [SPEAKER_01]: That was a mistake. [SPEAKER_00]: What?

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a good thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Why, it's not one. [SPEAKER_00]: OK. [SPEAKER_00]: So the next thing on the agenda for the family is the Joshua conversation. [SPEAKER_00]: Once again, I don't know that Barry knew. [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, oh, we're talking Joshua. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to be anything.

[SPEAKER_00]: So. [SPEAKER_00]: Zach is sitting in the living room with Kim. [SPEAKER_00]: The most awkward thing ever. [SPEAKER_00]: You just have those whole thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Zach, I know you're still looking for approval. [SPEAKER_00]: Take a beat, go out to the lake, go somewhere else, but don't sit there with Kim, talking about God knows what, talking about Joshua.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you didn't learn anything. [SPEAKER_00]: He was like, I'm really excited. [SPEAKER_00]: This is happening. [SPEAKER_00]: Lydia's coming and came in the confession was like, I don't know that excited is a word that I would use. [SPEAKER_00]: And he kept saying, it's awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: It's awesome.

[SPEAKER_00]: A million times. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Instead of topic, say less was what you should have taken out of what just happened. [SPEAKER_01]: this man is a terrible conversationalist, which we're seeing in real time. [SPEAKER_01]: And now, I saw that thing about Love Island where it's like, oh, they can't kiss because they all like grew up during COVID and didn't have the experience of like going to the bar and making on randoms all the time.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like it's kind of the same thing was that. [SPEAKER_01]: Like he's a COVID kid. [SPEAKER_01]: And I wonder if he just never really developed those like conversation skills during it's like routine years. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like to be, to be [SPEAKER_01]: there's there's I would even have this conversation, but if there's if you're going to have this you had to say listen um you know I think it's really important that you guys are talking about this I know that I'm not involved but I think it's always good to have an open dialogue a lot of difficult things and topics that maybe people have felt away about and haven't had chance to talk about it so I'm happy you guys were able to do this not I am so excited you're doing

[SPEAKER_01]: That is a weird turn of phrase to use in this moment. [SPEAKER_00]: It really is. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think he did mention his like, I guess I'll be here with T-game. [UNKNOWN]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: What's the exact same time with T-game, Kim? [SPEAKER_01]: For some reason. [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, Lydia's just like, she has given up trying to fix things and she's too nice to say she didn't give a fuck, but that's basically what she is. [SPEAKER_00]: But she's basically like, I'm done. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I can't. [SPEAKER_00]: try to change anybody's mind at this point. [SPEAKER_00]: Zach is still yapping about grief to kill.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like you in a million years would never understand what she went through but you're still going on. [SPEAKER_00]: But then in the confessional, he tells us like, listen, I don't understand her. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't understand how she operates. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't understand like a lot of the decisions that she makes.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not clicking with me. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, Zach. [SPEAKER_00]: you're on TV, if AI is wrong and another season comes up, this is absolutely going to be a storyline. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is not good. [SPEAKER_01]: No, and frankly, you better hope was not a season. [SPEAKER_01]: Because if not, this is just going to overhang the rest of your relationship with this family.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like they're going to see this. [SPEAKER_01]: And there's not going to be a produced sit down for you guys to talk through it. [SPEAKER_01]: This has just got to color everything moving forward. [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: So Kim, I mean, for all of her things, I think she is maybe a little perceptive because she's like, you know, I just need to find out what he needs for me to make him feel loved and accepted because it's kind of like, when you know someone's not giving you something and you should really, she just walk out but he just couldn't stop talking.

[SPEAKER_00]: He just kept going on and on and on and just filling up the silence. [SPEAKER_00]: But also it gave me just a little, you know, I took a little breath, a step back, just to kind of, [SPEAKER_00]: See if I understand Kim a little, she is not an emotional person, she is very matter of fact.

[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe that's what the disconnect is that I'm not going to speak for everyone, but for myself I'm expecting her from where her mindset was and what she used to believe in, like men at the head of the household and the women are submissive and I just thought she would be like the motherly type and the nurturing type and being all soft and emotional and quite frankly, [SPEAKER_00]: I can see in another life where Kim is like, I don't think I want kids.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a very honest with you Yeah, I can see her being the lady who like kicks ass at karaoke yet like 55 years old Like a regular at the bar has like a tight social circle I don't I think that she I think that she'd ever really wanted this and now is looking back like Yeah, I'm kind of stuck with this now [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and she just had to be because she was following what she thought her life was supposed to be, and then it wasn't what, you know, she wanted.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why she's not very, because over the seasons, we're just like, your kids are going through a huge change, like what's going on, and she's just like, I'm living my life. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't care, she says things very factually. [SPEAKER_00]: It's never like, with emotion, she does show emotion, but [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like, you know, all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think she has to, yeah, it's not that she has to be that way. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying like, when I take a step back instead of trying to get her to the ranks of Robin Brown and just kind of maybe just hear us for the human that she is, I'm just like, that's probably what it is. [SPEAKER_00]: Me expecting her to be like this emotional person, how all this kids when she just like is too much.

[SPEAKER_00]: I need her nap on my, on my boat. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that's for this. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, she is patient with Zach. [SPEAKER_00]: She does try to answer all his questions and he is really just having a conversation where she's about to have a very emotional one and I'm sure she wants to gather her thoughts and being that headspace but here comes Zach.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just yep yep yep yeping at her ear. [SPEAKER_00]: So she just tell him, like, you know, I don't want to go back to that place that first year was so hard, but it looks like I have to if that's what they need, that's what I'm, you know, going to do and I'm willing to do that. [SPEAKER_00]: That's great.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks, Zach. [SPEAKER_00]: I needed your endorsement for that. [SPEAKER_00]: So Zach said he doesn't think Kim tried to see Lydia for who she is and he doesn't want to talk about it. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I think he realized I don't want to get in trouble. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to talk about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's too late. [SPEAKER_00]: You're already open your mouth. [SPEAKER_00]: because he can defend his wife, but in all honesty, he doesn't know what they have been through. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like ding ding ding, for all their faults, you have no idea what that was like, whether for Lydia, whether for Kim as the family as a collective, it's like you really need to give Kim Grace for losing a child and also another layer at her own hand by accident, but [SPEAKER_00]: No one can not even bury Kind of understand that who don't coming on the high horse and like you didn't see that you didn't like I understand that maybe she faltered and didn't handle it well And I know what Lydia wanted but like she said many times that first year I was barely alive I didn't know what to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's no guidebook. [SPEAKER_00]: There's no handbook on what to do. [SPEAKER_00]: You cannot not get the time back. [SPEAKER_00]: She was trying to function. [SPEAKER_00]: She had like what 10 children? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no no she because Barry said that they have they don't have double digits But they're one shy of that is a weird way to put it on a date [SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, so Zach, like, you know, this is not the area for you to comment on say anything, like there's no right way to handle it parenting already is already like we're going to figure it out as it comes along and then you add this that's a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: So get out of here. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: It felt like we were at it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Meanwhile, Tegan is stuck in hell. [SPEAKER_00]: Or should I say purgatory? [SPEAKER_00]: Because she's sitting in between Ken and Zach. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, oh my god.

[SPEAKER_00]: Brian, if you had to pick Spender Day with someone, would you spend it with Ken or with Zach? [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Zach is Ken is a racist. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'd rather hang out with Zach, I guess. [SPEAKER_00]: Can't it cook you fish? [SPEAKER_00]: Is that cause gonna judge you all that?

[SPEAKER_01]: That kid's gonna poison that fish. [SPEAKER_01]: And like, drop slurs at me while he's doing it. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want that. [SPEAKER_00]: He's all sack, I go back and call it, you know, smoking weed, what? [SPEAKER_00]: How? [SPEAKER_00]: How? [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's such a fun awkward time with him.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'd be getting somebody uncomfortable topics just watching him, like react to stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Ha ha ha. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, the class got around and Mariah's like, oh my god, is this a bad conversation? [SPEAKER_00]: Girl. [SPEAKER_00]: You didn't get your call sheet, they didn't tell you what was happening.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have any cakes to break. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm still so bad that she went to the kitchen to just put on that stop. [SPEAKER_00]: Not part of it, not, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I gotta go scuttle. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, she's so avoidant and I'm just like, this is not sustainable. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you can only so many times you can travel to Montana or wherever else.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or the kitchen to take. [SPEAKER_00]: Kim talks about Joshua and she's like, you know, what do you need, like, what we help and Lydia says, like, she just wants them to acknowledge him more like, you know, they always say, oh, we're nine children and three brothers, but they were 10 and four brothers and just finding little ways to honor him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Moriah says it's good to talk about the grieving, but you can actually get stuck there and she's just trying to work to remember him and not to tragedy. [SPEAKER_00]: And of course the family is nodding because it's like anything that's hanging out with feelings, I'm y'all, that's the part that's the route that I want to go.

[SPEAKER_00]: again Lydia is crying and saying that this is all she needed just for them to bring him up in conversation and not act like this boy did not exist like just gathering and remembering some him just and sitting there and talking about him that's all she needed. [SPEAKER_00]: Then Kim says she has a gift for the three that never met him and there were rubber duckies and it was like he really liked them he couldn't pronounce duckies so he used to say guckies and then they all talk about different [SPEAKER_00]: You know, down the farm.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ethan talked about a card that he had. [SPEAKER_00]: They talked about like a doggy, but he couldn't say that too. [SPEAKER_00]: So he used to say, God, he was something like that. [SPEAKER_01]: And so yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was just nice. [SPEAKER_00]: And I understand that it's a shame that they just never got to sit there and share that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just share his memories because they're giving us siblings sometimes. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, at least I know for me, they validate the memories that I have. [SPEAKER_00]: Because sometimes I have a memory. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, am I making this up? [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, come on, brother.

[SPEAKER_00]: This happened, right? [SPEAKER_00]: And then it's like, yeah, we did that. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that happened. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like the minute a one person came up with a memory. [SPEAKER_00]: They're like, Oh, yeah, I remember when that like it's just nice like no one else is going to have that life that you lived and with your siblings and also you can picture by your parents to together.

[SPEAKER_00]: So right. [UNKNOWN]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So, there it was like, you know, during that time, I just played the role of supporter, like, you know, and I just like to remember the 17 months that, you know, we spent together. [SPEAKER_00]: And like I said, besides Lydia, all they want to do is not dwell, not have to think and just keep marching forward.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the one thing you want to do. [SPEAKER_01]: Check this off the box. [SPEAKER_01]: We did it. [SPEAKER_00]: So, Mariah says, oh, you know, you are asking us how we're doing, you just want to ask how are you doing [SPEAKER_00]: And she was like, you know, I'm doing okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Like the first year was the really bad year.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Dr. Ty made me say I'm important. [SPEAKER_00]: We got a lot of Dr. Ty mentions. [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know if you go sheated that in her contract, but there was a lot of Dr. Ty made me see this, Dr. Ty. [SPEAKER_01]: Can't miss been off. [SPEAKER_01]: Ha ha ha ha. [SPEAKER_00]: Ha ha.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Lydia says, like, you know, that she can just cry thinking about how strong Kim was, pushing through raising them. [SPEAKER_00]: and then they put Joshua's name on the bench. [SPEAKER_00]: That was pretty good writing or handwriting. [SPEAKER_01]: It was straight. [SPEAKER_00]: It was clean and I was like, why don't you press it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: So his name was on the bench and they took it out on there. [SPEAKER_00]: They do do their obligatory, Micah couldn't make it because he had to work. [SPEAKER_00]: That man said, don't call me, lose my number. [SPEAKER_00]: I am not coming for this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Alright, don't come from me. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a sin for you. [SPEAKER_01]: I forget my name. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so like in every other episode that like, oh, we wish my kids to come. [SPEAKER_00]: We have to work. [SPEAKER_00]: What is he doing? [SPEAKER_00]: That man is booking jobs.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Got it. [SPEAKER_00]: So [SPEAKER_00]: What was it? [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, Zach says it feels like Tegan doesn't want to be here and Tegan is all like, I don't care where he thinks I'm not bringing up anything with him. [SPEAKER_00]: He can have whatever he wants. [SPEAKER_00]: This is my last episode filming with his family anyways.

[SPEAKER_00]: Get my check and that's me adding that and she's like, first anniversary and I don't want to dampen their celebration. [SPEAKER_00]: So so be it. [SPEAKER_00]: Zack says I'm not gonna own that I was wrong like we're just the ones who brought it up I'm like Zack in this stubbornness. [SPEAKER_00]: I just like yeah, yeah, go through life or marriage wanting to be right All the time.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, it's not gonna work that way and he he seems very stuck in that He knows everything Brian. [SPEAKER_00]: He knows better than all about everything. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah [SPEAKER_00]: So it's pouring rain by this time, so thank God because what we have done, if the rain was pouring through the whole thing, so they need to regroup, they need to distract them, they're taking Zach and Lydia upstairs while they set up for the surprise.

[SPEAKER_00]: They bring them downstairs. [SPEAKER_00]: They're surprised. [SPEAKER_00]: They were not expecting it, and it was such a sweet gesture And Zach is just I just hope next time you've conflict arises. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not misunderstood The producer is like well, are you gonna ensure that you're not misunderstood?

[SPEAKER_00]: Lydia's like well at this point I can't think about if Zach taunts her and is like let me answer please Yeah, sure does stop talking. [SPEAKER_01]: I got this. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it's a thing of I'm formulating my thoughts. [SPEAKER_00]: If you speak it throws me off, I don't want to, but there's still a kind of way to say that and he's just so rigid.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's Zach's problem. [SPEAKER_00]: If it's one straight line, you cannot make a detour. [SPEAKER_00]: We got to go straight down the line whether it is traffic, whether it is bumps, whether it is an accident, [SPEAKER_00]: We just got to go straight line and I don't know his young so I hope he grows out of it because at some point Lydia is going to succeed from the family and he's going to be the only one and I don't think that's good either No, it didn't seem like it in me at all [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But anyways, he finishes his thought and says like if they continue to misunderstood, then they just won't keep trying. [SPEAKER_00]: That is a, it's not a threat, but it's a promise like he is going to tell Lydia we can not talk to them anymore. [SPEAKER_00]: And Lydia is going to be like, you know what sex is right?

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I just want to just keep feeling hurting myself and allowing them to hurt me and then that'll be it. [SPEAKER_00]: If you do a toast, Isaac does a toast to them that they hope that, and they all say, I can't remember who said it. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Lydia, Lydia says, I hope that we continue to grow and we're gonna leave things open and dead without expectations.

[SPEAKER_00]: She's tired of working on relationships. [SPEAKER_00]: She just wants to be. [SPEAKER_00]: And then she'll see who floats in and out of her life. [SPEAKER_00]: Like she's not gonna force anything anymore. [SPEAKER_00]: River wants to be there. [SPEAKER_00]: We welcome you if you're not, Sianara.

[SPEAKER_00]: Kid says it is hard being a parent to so many different people that you've birthed and raised. [SPEAKER_00]: And she made it to life. [SPEAKER_00]: They're just as adults and they don't be parent them. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, oh, yeah, I just thought of that song. [SPEAKER_00]: How did you get here?

[SPEAKER_01]: Don't let me know when it's supposed to be here. [SPEAKER_00]: What are your kids? [SPEAKER_00]: Get away. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure she's counting down the days to the little's become adult. [SPEAKER_00]: So she's like, please leave. [SPEAKER_00]: Just go. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, and she's like, if anyone figures this out, let me know because I don't have it figured out.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the episode ends with this gross green juice thing that they're obsessed with. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but he came showing up and I don't like it. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyways, but yeah, and that's it, and that was the end. [SPEAKER_00]: And we still nothing, and so anti-comactic, if I could say so myself.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it came out of nowhere. [SPEAKER_01]: They didn't feel like there was, I mean, how is why I was always such a big event at the end? [SPEAKER_01]: I guess this was their big event, but it just felt flat. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think it was meant to be the finale? [SPEAKER_00]: And they were just like, we got nothing else.

[SPEAKER_00]: They just wrap it up here. [SPEAKER_00]: This week, we could make something out of this family gathering. [SPEAKER_01]: If it's meant to be the series finale, I guess I get it. [SPEAKER_01]: If this is meant to be a season finale, there's no cliffhanger. [SPEAKER_01]: There's no like, I need to come back next season and find the conclusion of this.

[SPEAKER_01]: I really don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: This was not a great finale. [SPEAKER_00]: That's it, guys, we made it through another season of Platville and now we wait and see, I guess sister lives will be coming out soon and you watch Sister Wise, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm praying to God that they catch up because that is my biggest pet peeve.

[SPEAKER_00]: I cannot be two years behind. [SPEAKER_00]: I already know what's happening and we're watching you. [SPEAKER_00]: Remember when we had to watch them through COVID, they were sitting outside and I'm like, [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, I think they're never going to catch up. [SPEAKER_01]: They're always going to be in the deep past.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a period piece at this point. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, guys. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what you think. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what you thought of the season. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think it's going to come back? [SPEAKER_00]: But before we sign out, Brian shared with people where they can find you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, I host Maff's virgin. [SPEAKER_01]: We are covering right now season 14 of Maff's that is the Boston season. [SPEAKER_01]: We just did the episode with Alyssa's tennis court crash out and it is so much more satisfying to watch her be a disaster the second time around. [SPEAKER_01]: Like knowing well how this is going to go.

[SPEAKER_01]: I am having the time of my life watching everyone just react to how horrible she is even though she is a good person. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I look at the two maps of origin. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm there. [SPEAKER_01]: You can follow us on Instagram and Threads at Mass Virgin and join the Facebook Mass Virgin Fan Club.
