EP. 329 | Martin Tyler: “This One Line Has Haunted Me for 30 Years” | Breaking down ICONIC moments and Regrets

On this week’s episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, the lads are joined by none other than Martin Tyler – the legendary commentator affectionately known across the world as the voice of football.

With a career spanning over five decades, Martin reflects on iconic moments behind the mic – from “Collymore closing in!” to Aguero’s title-winning goal. He shares the unseen prep behind a commentator’s job, how he once nearly turned down the TV gig entirely, and the surreal reality of being more recognised for his voice than his face.

Crouchy, Chris, and Sids dig into Tyler’s personal story: from his grassroots beginnings, non-league coaching adventures, close friendships with legendary managers, and why even now, aged 78, he’s still chasing energy and the joy of football.

It’s a nostalgic, surprisingly emotional, and often hilarious look at the man behind some of football’s most spine-tingling moments.
