<p>On today’s cast we talk about the Drukhari some more. Starting with the rise of the Kabals in the dark city. With a focus on their origins, how they function, how they are created, and their role in the Drukhari. After that we go into the real space raids themselves, less about the during and more the preparation that goes into them, and what is done with the bounty upon return. We then close out on the act of building your own realspace raid for the table top.</p><p><br></p><p><a href="patreon.com/The40kLorecast"; rel="nofollow">Patreon</a></p><p><a href="etsy.com/shop/The40kLorecast"; rel="nofollow">Merchandise</a></p><p><a href="Discord.gg/40klc"; rel="nofollow">Discord Link:</a></p><p><a href="the40klorecast.com/"; rel="nofollow">Our Website</a></p><p><a href="open.spotify.com/show/7dEDiuP31Ap81EHtWMS3LG?s…; rel="nofollow">Retro Recall</a></p><p><a href="youtube.com/@BradChester71"; rel="nofollow">Brad Channel</a></p><br/><br/>Our Sponsors:<br/>* Check out Progressive: progressive.com<br/>* Check out Quince and use my code 40KLORE for a great deal: quince.com<br/>* Check out Shopify and use my code shopify.com/lore for a great deal: shopify.com<br/><br/><br/>Ad… Inquiries: <a href='redcircle.com/brands'>https://redcircle.com… & Opt-Out: <a href='redcircle.com/privacy'>https://redcircle.co…;

[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Forty-K-Lore cast. [SPEAKER_01]: in honor of John getting back into playing Mr. Carrey, we're covering them today. [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I write the podcast, so I have all the power. [SPEAKER_00]: And what? [SPEAKER_00]: I do really want to talk about how this went because we're planning what we're gonna cover and I get the, all right, Brad, let's talk about what we're gonna do and I go, we should do this, this, and this, and John goes, cool, I wanna play your car and get my car out, so we're gonna do a couple of episode.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, yep, okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I guess that's what we're doing. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm painting up my Drew Cari. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm making my real space raid for its internments. [SPEAKER_01]: And so yeah, we're going back into Drew Cari because it's top of mind. [SPEAKER_01]: Next week we'll get into more Brad stuff.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sponsored. [SPEAKER_01]: The episode. [SPEAKER_01]: So 40K Lorkas, the weekly show focused on the lower of the Warhammer 40K universe, releasing every Monty at 7 p.m. Eastern. [SPEAKER_01]: Please continue to follow and comment in the cast. [SPEAKER_01]: It's really helping our algorithm pushing us up to a lot more listeners.

[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of you have done already. [SPEAKER_01]: I am enjoying the comments. [SPEAKER_01]: They are quite sometimes quite funny, especially around the where in the world is the 40K lower cast series. [SPEAKER_01]: That seems to be a big hit. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to keep doing that too.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you like the cast, you want more of Brad, click on the show notes, you'll find links over to our YouTube page for the 40K Lordcast. [SPEAKER_01]: There you have our Q&A sessions, our other show, the history of 40K. [SPEAKER_01]: Actually, some more stuff looks like upcoming, more of 2026 projects.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you're listening to this in 2026, good news. [SPEAKER_01]: So, what are you there? [SPEAKER_01]: That's a lot of stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, TBD! [SPEAKER_01]: One of my fair parts this is our Patreon. [SPEAKER_01]: So for those of you who don't know, we have a Patreon to Patreon helps us expand our show out.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have one tier and one tier only. [SPEAKER_01]: It's $4.99 a month. [SPEAKER_01]: That'll get you this show and the history of 40K, add free on all podcasting platforms. [SPEAKER_01]: But if you live in a place called the Green City in the Sun, it would be 644.96 Canyon Shilings. [SPEAKER_01]: They still use shilling, which is cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: Nairobi, that's what we're going today. [SPEAKER_01]: Nairobi is the only city in the world with a national park inside of it, which I then had to look up. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's not really inside of it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of touching it. [SPEAKER_01]: So technically it's inside of it, but this park is pretty big.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it also's only fenced on three sides. [SPEAKER_01]: So anyway. [SPEAKER_01]: But Kenya's actually pretty cool, randomly I actually learned rugby from Man from Kenya. [SPEAKER_01]: That's where I first picked that game up. [SPEAKER_01]: Kenya's cool is hell, because you've got the Great Rift Valley, which is 39 million hectares in size.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's, that's not small unless I got that math wrong equally possible. [SPEAKER_01]: Lake Tertia. [SPEAKER_01]: equally possible. [SPEAKER_01]: I did that by the way, I did it myself. [SPEAKER_01]: I took the dimensions of it and then put it into an online calculator. [SPEAKER_01]: So if I just set a number and someone out there is like you just described the entire land mass of Asia possible, I actually don't know what a hectare is.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm American. [SPEAKER_00]: We measure everything in cubits. [SPEAKER_00]: Cubits and refrigerators. [SPEAKER_01]: Another cool thing about Kenya is the Turkana, which is the world's largest desert lake, [SPEAKER_01]: go on a deeper dive into John information. [SPEAKER_01]: So fun fact number two for everybody.

[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the world of useless knowledge. [SPEAKER_01]: A desert lake and a wacess. [SPEAKER_01]: What's the difference? [SPEAKER_01]: Simple. [SPEAKER_01]: A desert lake is water in the middle of a desert. [SPEAKER_01]: An oasis is when said water feeds vegetation. [SPEAKER_01]: Now you know.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: I just have to the back there we go. [SPEAKER_01]: It's waiting for you to fill that in. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like come on don't don't leave me hang in here It's like that cold blood fake me the high five thing [SPEAKER_01]: Lastly, our discord, link in the show notes as always.

[SPEAKER_01]: Our discord's an incredible place to come and interact with anyone around the 40K. [SPEAKER_01]: We really do love this thing a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: It's been an incredible boon for us as far as being a bit interact with people. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm in there quite a bit, so it's Brad. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a great way to talk to us about shows, ask us questions, tell me the things I got wrong.

[SPEAKER_01]: They are every episode. [SPEAKER_01]: There will be stuff wrong in this one too, guys. [SPEAKER_01]: I am very, very happy. [SPEAKER_01]: very far from perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: But it is an incredible resource for a lot of people and I think it's a really healthy community. [SPEAKER_01]: So I really invite everyone to come in there, interact, ask your questions, get your advice, and just have fun.

[SPEAKER_01]: Massive, thank you to our mods, then there are not a few of them. [SPEAKER_01]: Doc, ours, toba, tyrant, hereshmit, zemsta, jay, solasia, kathulu, qiri, maestro, Steve, girls, nougals, awargamon, twindemized, curl, slanesh, and silva. [SPEAKER_01]: you guys are doing an incredible job and I light your thankful for it because I could not have just on a basically organized this thing, let alone managed it, the level you all do.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, big thank you to you guys for doing that. [SPEAKER_01]: With all that out of the way, real space raids. [SPEAKER_01]: There are three ways you interact with your car. [SPEAKER_01]: One, you go to the camera. [SPEAKER_00]: There's so not. [SPEAKER_00]: What? [SPEAKER_00]: Hold on, let's go with number one, you're going to come around the dark city.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, you have made bad decisions and or you're at the end of or you're at the end of exile with you accidentally walk through a gate and got to the dark city. [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, tell Stelsuit leader. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what I have for your jugat icon just hang it out wrong enough. [SPEAKER_00]: people do but actually lots of people actually enter at the dark city.

[SPEAKER_00]: However, I say there's two because your second one is somehow you surprise them in space and that doesn't happen because they make raids and they leave. [SPEAKER_00]: The only time they ever get surprised in space is because of plot armor from other people that want to talk to Degarri. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the space one, the reason why I go to the space one is that technically a lot of the core seraphlates are due car.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's where it's like, you can't do anything. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess you're kind of, but those are, those are mixed fleets. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't count. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's all I'm saying. [SPEAKER_01]: That was why, which you would bump into due cars. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's not what you're going to see to carry in camera because you went to where they all live.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to see them in space because they're on core seraphlates. [SPEAKER_01]: or they come to you, which is the real space rate. [SPEAKER_01]: This is bad things. [SPEAKER_01]: So because of Drew Carrey for the record, it makes us really clear, they're not diplomats. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're not showing up.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's still a reason that their rule is called power from pain. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they're not showing up to negotiate. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not a lot of emissaries coming in out of the drip carry like oh, he wanted to set up a trade with you. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, what's the trade about?

[SPEAKER_01]: We want to kidnap and torture all of your civilians and give the right imperial governor. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Tell me more in my mind. [SPEAKER_00]: I need a, I definitely need a drip carry and arcane modeled up with a top hat and a monocle. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let me tell you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not an incredible deal for you. [SPEAKER_01]: So the real space raids what we're going to focus on today, how they happen, where they happen and more. [SPEAKER_01]: But let's start actually the most important question of, why do we have real space raids? [SPEAKER_01]: And real space raids occur because of the fall of the elder.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is, I'm going to be honest, let's cover here, I had to kind of infer because not written out that clearly. [SPEAKER_01]: But in effect. [SPEAKER_00]: But it is a survival. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a good. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but we're saying it's like the origins of it's a little goofy because what you have is Slanesh was born because of just the decadence of the elder.

[SPEAKER_01]: She and when she did this, she and if that curse the elder. [SPEAKER_01]: We've covered the fall enough times. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to, I think it's was like seven cast. [SPEAKER_01]: We've ended up talking about the fall at some point. [SPEAKER_01]: So, [SPEAKER_01]: There's now, well, there were three, there's now four ways that the Eldar deal with Slinesh being alive because Slinesh is eating their souls.

[SPEAKER_01]: If her craft world Eldar, they wear a soul stone within their armor and this stone protects their soul from Slinesh grabbing it and both while they're walking around, but also when they die, the stone absorbs their soul. [SPEAKER_01]: So Slinesh can't get it unless she gets the stone and breaks it.

[SPEAKER_00]: They put it in the infinity circuit and then they can do stuff with it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the next group is, if you're a Harley Quinn, they still have their god. [SPEAKER_01]: Keggerack, Seggerack, I was at this wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: How about you just skip that and go with the laughing god, my friend?

[SPEAKER_00]: The laughing god. [SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm going to go with Shedgerack. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure to get it wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not even close. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the, look, my last name is Bar's Sadi. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, any of my life who've called me Biscotti, like somehow I'm some barren, it's some great cookie fortune.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but it comes up all the time. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm a lot of the mispronounced Chegarac, Hegarac, we'll go for it. [SPEAKER_01]: But whenever an elder, whenever Harlequin dies, Kegarac will actually steal the stolen way from the slenash before she can grab it. [SPEAKER_01]: And then, I guess, resurrects them?

[SPEAKER_00]: It actually is really funny, though, because the God specifically does that to mess with slenash. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there's a middle finger as he goes past. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, there's a reason it's the laughing God. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he's just nope.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: He's given him the one bird salute as Roy grabs the soul. [SPEAKER_01]: The newer one is you're not because that, obviously, we're less than ten years of you know, and we actually just stop the Lord too. [SPEAKER_00]: The Lord hasn't [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm sure maybe 11th edition will be here eventually.

[SPEAKER_01]: For them, when they die, their soul goes to you need not to slenish. [SPEAKER_01]: So, still lose your soul, but it goes to the God you like, not the God you don't like, and that's a key difference. [SPEAKER_00]: I just imagine the two gods sitting at like the family feud thing where they're bulltrying to hit the button.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, the last group is the Jew-Carry, and they have a really unique one, and I'll be honest, it's an odd one, because it doesn't really line up that much into the lower, but it is a key part of the lower. [SPEAKER_01]: And so what I mean by that is, I don't fully understand how it's functions.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, [SPEAKER_01]: We cover the jukari a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: Death is really common for the jukari. [SPEAKER_01]: They are not the dying race, the craft rolled out. [SPEAKER_01]: We don't really know how they're doing it if it's cloning all the, but there are a lot of jukari, being made consistent.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, throw it out there again. [SPEAKER_00]: The Dark City isn't just us city. [SPEAKER_00]: It is the infinite amount of web way space with billions slash trillions of jukari in there along with a lot of other people. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm also going to call that out. [SPEAKER_01]: We always say, oh, the webways infinite, but you have to build stuff in the webway.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right. [SPEAKER_00]: Webway, some more is settled down, party pooper. [SPEAKER_00]: It's an infinite, modern, awesome webway. [SPEAKER_00]: Cool, Drew Curry space. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's an infinite amount of space that's also limited, but not limited. [SPEAKER_01]: It really depends on the writer.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the better way of explaining it. [SPEAKER_00]: All I'm saying is the Dark City kind of works like Sex Panther, because 60% of the time, it works every time. [SPEAKER_00]: But, [SPEAKER_00]: the because of what Apple of the slenash and because of the fact that they're not in real space but not in warp space, they are effectively withering, but very slowly while they're in, but very quickly when they go into real space and they effectively, again, power from pain.

[SPEAKER_00]: They need to basically power up and they need to do that by other people's suffering. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I referred to Slinesh her effect on the jukari as being a D&D death curse, but it's on your soul not in your body. [SPEAKER_01]: So every time we also have every day really cool adventure.

[SPEAKER_00]: The death curse is always everything. [SPEAKER_00]: You got out of the chill. [SPEAKER_00]: You go down to the S Rocks to a Syrik by sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: I think I just goof that. [SPEAKER_00]: I just brutalized rock. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what we're talking about. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't my own one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Artsrock. [SPEAKER_01]: The rock. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, you're 100% right now. [SPEAKER_00]: I just want to go into what it was because they're, it's very slow while they're in the dark city, the while they're in the web, right? [SPEAKER_00]: But it super juices up when they leave.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there's why they don't just stand up though. [SPEAKER_01]: But there's a key piece, so this is what makes it weird. [SPEAKER_01]: So Slonash is able to pull from their soul in this death curse. [SPEAKER_01]: But as your soul gets pulled out, so does your energy level, your strength, all of you actually get weaker, slower, all those things.

[SPEAKER_01]: But like an energy bar in a video game, you can also bring it up. [SPEAKER_01]: So think of it less as a soul and more as a soul meter. [SPEAKER_01]: It's how I look at it, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, 100% because you can overcap it then. [SPEAKER_00]: Because the bar actually can go way beyond.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's not just a set bar. [SPEAKER_01]: This is where the comparison, because I have the show retro recall, I'm doing a lot of old gaining. [SPEAKER_01]: So now I'm replaying Zelda. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm replaying these old games. [SPEAKER_01]: And what this reminds me of is in Zelda when you find the little hearts, you actually, it's not that it refills your meter.

[SPEAKER_01]: It actually makes your meter larger. [SPEAKER_01]: This, they can't really explain how this happened, but it appears that something occurred with the birth of slimesh that made their souls [SPEAKER_01]: different. [SPEAKER_01]: And the reason I go this way is that during the fall, the Eldar were doing all this decadence.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they were obviously taking a lot of joy in it. [SPEAKER_01]: But I don't think it sounds from reading the books like it wasn't just they were taking joy. [SPEAKER_01]: They were taking power out of it. [SPEAKER_01]: This was actually giving them sustenance. [SPEAKER_01]: But the people who were part of that fall all still died.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the inferences I have to make here is that before the fall, they were getting juice up and powered from the pain and the suffering. [SPEAKER_01]: But after the fall, once Lanesh's death curse came on them, now talk about his little major curry episode, I feel like he kind of broke the walls.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so instead of it being something that would fill you up to being satisfied and full, it now became almost like an unquenching thirst, like we were just discussing where, now instead of my me taking that heart and it giving me full HP, it actually takes my HP and adds 25% and each time 25% 25% so I now in the case of like a vect can be borderline god-like in power, which is why I like he's not in the game anymore, I don't think the [SPEAKER_01]: Boom.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the game because, well, he's a positive size. [SPEAKER_01]: The problem is, all right, so we've recorded a cast talking about sixth edition, going into seventh edition, 40K for the history of 40K talking towards world models. [SPEAKER_01]: Vect is the definition of what you should have been a forged world model of like, well, what is he?

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he's only T3, how many wounds is he? [SPEAKER_01]: Four, what else is he? [SPEAKER_01]: He has a one up invulnerable sin. [SPEAKER_01]: You made a two up. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, no, he did get smoked by mandrakes. [SPEAKER_00]: So there is that. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then what happened?

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he didn't do anything to the manager. [SPEAKER_00]: He said, he didn't want him to show up every time he went to the bathroom. [SPEAKER_01]: He got smoked by mandrakes, and then, Oh, he ignored him. [SPEAKER_01]: Right back till he just clung. [SPEAKER_01]: He just came right back. [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to go hudder close to himself.

[SPEAKER_00]: But he also got mad about the people that made that happen. [SPEAKER_00]: So he killed all of them. [SPEAKER_01]: Instead, there we go. [SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't belong in the game. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, he's, oh, yes. [SPEAKER_01]: So who's here? [SPEAKER_01]: Vex here. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so you win.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, let's get myself in trouble. [SPEAKER_01]: beats the crap out of a bunch of custos. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, great. [SPEAKER_00]: Dude, and the thing is, you got to look at some of these, and I think that they get like very small residual, they power up, and then it goes down, and then they stay a little bit more.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you went from 100% to 125, and then it goes back down, but then you're still at 101. [SPEAKER_00]: And then the next time you torture, you're at 125, but you go down to 102. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_00]: So on so forth. [SPEAKER_01]: So what happens is you do get to a point.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is again why it's not, it's hard to do linear stuff in 40K lore because it doesn't because that's the best example I have for Jew Carries. [SPEAKER_01]: We talk about what not Matable top of what Lilith is in the lore. [SPEAKER_01]: Lilith is that end of game Final Fantasy where you are grinding and you found like the weapon that removes the damage cap that removes the HP cap.

[SPEAKER_01]: And now you're just wrecking shock because that's what you're just [SPEAKER_01]: next to that table, or celestial weapons and having time to fancy ten. [SPEAKER_01]: Like that's where the Jew carry get to. [SPEAKER_01]: So what makes them so cool is that in the lore, the most powerful Jew carry are pushing into Eldar God, like level of power.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's, but it's only comes from this power from pain, which is what we should be talking about now. [SPEAKER_01]: It all comes from their ability to inflict suffering. [SPEAKER_01]: And actually, and fear, it's set or in them. [SPEAKER_01]: Like the new mechanic for them in 11th or in 10th edition makes complete sense.

[SPEAKER_01]: It actually is a very, very, this pain token has all of the concept. [SPEAKER_00]: Just think every time you kill something, you get another pain token. [SPEAKER_01]: But it didn't work. [SPEAKER_01]: It didn't own a morale test. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But it didn't even be the answer.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: But it is. [SPEAKER_00]: But there are things in Lawrence very nice because it and I'll go with my semi-counter breath theory on when it happened. [SPEAKER_00]: With the fall, I think that they weren't really powering up. [SPEAKER_00]: They were just enjoying themselves and they got psychic pleasure from it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then it became an ad. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Need. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I agree with you. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, don't think it was something where they were powering up just because of the way the fall went. [SPEAKER_01]: And some of the nobility post fall weren't that powerful.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they should have been like back then. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think this is one that drove this. [SPEAKER_00]: It's in your car, you're such doucheys about stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: That this is a bad thing that they effectively turned into their good thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, you are cursed forever to be slowly dying.

[SPEAKER_00]: And only the suffering of others keeps you alive. [SPEAKER_00]: And they're like, I'm okay with that. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'll get it slightly better all the time. [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of suffering. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: You get really powerful, why are you asking? [SPEAKER_01]: I think you just answered my question, which, again, is why I get annoyed by my Drew Carrion, the table top, from a competitive standpoint, I think they're well-written, I think their rules are well balanced, but from a lower standpoint, really might you call your T3, all of them, like, feel like, again, Lilith should be a bit better.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm willing to give you what's as nuts yearning, I don't care about it. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's hard for us. [SPEAKER_00]: It's wildly hard to do an in and in the lore. [SPEAKER_00]: They are They're kind of all over the place to be perfectly honest with you as far as their power levels because sometimes the regular guys are getting smoked in the top top guys are untouchable [SPEAKER_00]: So you're like, yeah, and it's not like they're really sharing it.

[SPEAKER_00]: After they do a real space raid, it's not like that goes around and evenly distributes out all of them. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they took he's not like, all right guys, everybody's getting one guy. [SPEAKER_00]: And you're going to spend two hours. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to do this real even, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody's going to get their fair share. [SPEAKER_00]: No, not even remotely. [SPEAKER_01]: it's all murder. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, but let's actually take that's a good kind of transition to the cabals. [SPEAKER_01]: So I think this is me and I don't care if you played your car, you just agree with me.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think the cabals are the best part of your car. [SPEAKER_01]: The coats are fast and fun. [SPEAKER_01]: The coats are fast and fun, but they're not as cool. [SPEAKER_01]: The cabals are a really fun for me. [SPEAKER_01]: And the covens, and we will love playing coven, it's just tanky, which I find boring.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that's, again, not against you. [SPEAKER_01]: I also own 11 armies. [SPEAKER_01]: So if I want to play a tanky army, I own multiple tanky armies, one of them literally has tanks in it. [SPEAKER_01]: Ah, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, [SPEAKER_01]: no idea how you attain it, what they were, they function or how it's based.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not, they never talk about whether it's family based, whether it's what, you're just the head of your particular, it's almost, it's screwed. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go into it because that's how it now works. [SPEAKER_00]: These are all crime families kind of. [SPEAKER_01]: They're nobility.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's now they are. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why but now they are. [SPEAKER_01]: But when they was elder, they think he was elder also a technically immortal. [SPEAKER_01]: So it was also this weird thing where, all right, if I was, if I held our nobility and then I died and reincarnate or get my soul recycled, like, how does this happen?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's also, these are all the probably have, let me give a two second Brad ran here. [SPEAKER_00]: Elder nobility. [SPEAKER_00]: before the fall, they were using psychic powers to make reality happen, who gave a shit, who was the ability was, I thought things into reality. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a cool man.

[SPEAKER_01]: One of these things that every time I read, I go, hey, wait a minute. [SPEAKER_01]: just every single time. [SPEAKER_01]: But whatever, it existed. [SPEAKER_01]: So, eventually, because there were nobles, these nobles fell into the depravity, and this is what really led to the fall pretty heavily, because originally, the pleasure cults were on the lower levels.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was just people doing kind of dirty stuff in alleys, and once the ability found out the joy, it actually became [SPEAKER_01]: Now, what creates the piece for the Jew-carry is that some of the nobles wanted to do even more, because the Eldar could do stuff in the cities, but they were like, oh, what are they doing back there though?

[SPEAKER_00]: If you're like, hey, man, I'm going to Tuesday, Fish Oaks, and ****. [SPEAKER_00]: night and you're like, that's super tame for me. [SPEAKER_00]: What kind of opening the hell razor box? [SPEAKER_00]: Did you need to make it so that this is a little bit more exciting for you? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so let's talk about a comrade then.

[SPEAKER_01]: So comrade has always existed. [SPEAKER_01]: And the reason why is the elder culture is built on the web way. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, they used the web way, this is their primary mode of transport. [SPEAKER_01]: I might say primary, 95 percent. [SPEAKER_01]: The only time you're not using the web way is we're going to a world, doesn't have a web way on it to go build a web way on that world.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's, that was effective in how it worked. [SPEAKER_01]: So this massive logistical center for trade and transport is built and the importance of the web way is massive because it therefore still exists outside the bounds of normal elder society. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is an elder rules at governance.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, weird way. [SPEAKER_01]: This is one of these fun things we always, if you know history, this crap never works. [SPEAKER_01]: The idea being it will have this independent place because none of us, we don't want anyone to have rule over it. [SPEAKER_01]: If any elder family or no building hell that hell this crap worked, got control of the web way, they would effectively rule the entire elder civilization.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the idea was the web ways it's own independent trading port. [SPEAKER_01]: Tartugov? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but Turkey was a pirate comedy. [SPEAKER_01]: This is more, uh, guys, there is one and it's, some of them will jump in on notes. [SPEAKER_01]: There's been a couple of these over time.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna like, this, no, this place is totally independent. [SPEAKER_01]: And then the people running it become super corrupt. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just a trading port and it's a horrible, horrible place. [SPEAKER_01]: I was gonna say Hong Kong. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not technically true, but it's a very, very, very, very Hong.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Hong Kong's got like that for a period of time. [SPEAKER_01]: It was, it was someone the British East India, it's the new trade company utilized. [SPEAKER_01]: but things didn't do well. [SPEAKER_01]: What happens is some of the nobility that are doing horrible things in real space start building like their vacation homes in comma and eventually moved everybody into comma.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're whole. [SPEAKER_01]: There you go. [SPEAKER_00]: There you go. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just in those as running. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, eventually they move everything in a camera. [SPEAKER_01]: The irony is that by doing this, they actually survived. [SPEAKER_01]: So, think of it this way.

[SPEAKER_01]: Every, the vast majority of LDAR culture is doing depravity. [SPEAKER_01]: The most depraved group though, felt they couldn't do what they really wanna do in real space, so they move in the camera to do it. [SPEAKER_01]: that's who survived the birth of Sloan Esch. [SPEAKER_01]: So they got the A survived.

[SPEAKER_01]: B, we're told, hey, by doing this, that's why you survived. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're not setting ourselves up for a wonderful, happy place. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm all in on torture, baby. [SPEAKER_00]: Torture to gravity. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't need to see my whole cards. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's just rock it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, basically, if you were in camera at the birth of Sloan Ash, you were like, wow, what happened out there? [SPEAKER_01]: All this. [SPEAKER_01]: That sucks for them. [SPEAKER_00]: You'll have to feel pretty bad right away though. [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, hey, man, I don't feel super great.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that that part came later, but or they were in the middle of torturing you. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, this is better than ever before. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's true. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the, that's more like what happened. [SPEAKER_01]: I can run faster jump higher. [SPEAKER_01]: And let's do it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, well, I don't know what's going on, but this stuff is awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like finding out your pre-workout actually is anabolic steroids. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm trying to. [SPEAKER_01]: It's antibiotics and cocaine, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess new PR every day.

[SPEAKER_01]: So over time though, the cabals do start to come out of this and let's talk about how that goes. [SPEAKER_01]: The New Billion of Dark City had always been militaristic since their creation with your building a city that's based on murder and torture. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't have great neighbors.

[SPEAKER_01]: simply put, so you need to add some extra security and buy extra security an entire army at your back. [SPEAKER_01]: And there's not a lot of lore from this time, but it's implied the first few hundred years post-fall of camera. [SPEAKER_01]: There was a settling out period, heavy air quotes there in which he's the notes family start killing each other.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm saying. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a pedaling out period of me while murdering the streets, just holy crap. [SPEAKER_01]: Had it little, it was just, you know, settling out. [SPEAKER_01]: It was just kind of, let's get ourselves into a rhythm, guys. [SPEAKER_01]: And by, to get us there, let's murder a 30% of the population.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just see what that new rhythm is like. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not even the murder of the spread of the population. [SPEAKER_00]: They also went, hey, let's break the web way and then restrict where people can go. [SPEAKER_01]: But what's important about this is that when during the settling out period, it kind of ended with almost bad mention toward two girly, really good reference.

[SPEAKER_01]: You end up in the situation where everyone around me is a murdering criminal. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not, it's a tickle, we'll go to D&D again. [SPEAKER_00]: It spends a rinse and it's the drowsity. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, for love, it's lossity. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: The challenge you read began to run in the dark realm, though, was over time.

[SPEAKER_01]: They started running out of people to kidnap and torture. [SPEAKER_01]: You need, it's power from pain, but it's also survival from pain. [SPEAKER_01]: The first few hundred years, there's a ton of other families I can go kill, random [SPEAKER_01]: But the vast majority of it is now there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right, let's also talk about why, because you made a great point of when you rated another big family, you would have lost resources. [SPEAKER_00]: You weak and other bready else looks to go, I'm going to attack you. [SPEAKER_00]: why would I go ahead and try to collect bodies from people that are fighting back when I can just go, and this is how the real space raids really began is, well, I can just go here and I won't lose anybody.

[SPEAKER_00]: I won't get weak at all. [SPEAKER_00]: I lose no warriors because I go down to an agro world. [SPEAKER_00]: I go down to random outposts and I slice everybody up and I take them home and you're gonna wish that you didn't capture it because well, magic exists here. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and what's happening is the key part of this is that parry culture, much like old art culture, have no monetary currency to speak of.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right? [SPEAKER_01]: The only currency that exists within your carry is survival from the death. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll be right back after a quick break. [SPEAKER_01]: So what you need to do is if I'm a noble family, I need to not only feed myself, [SPEAKER_01]: this pleasure from pain, I had to feed all of my subordinates this.

[SPEAKER_01]: And what I was just talking about before with the challenge you run into is that within the dark realm, within a hundred years or two hundred years, there's no one left the harvest. [SPEAKER_01]: There are either fully well-armed or if they've survived this long, they're really good at surviving and fighting.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you can't go to this. [SPEAKER_01]: So what do they do? [SPEAKER_01]: They then are peeking out of the webways that they could activate. [SPEAKER_01]: They were out that didn't take you into the eye of terror. [SPEAKER_00]: Kind of dead, yeah, you're like walk out and selling the ice cream, you're like, yeah, you wait, hey, where's this door go?

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, man. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's just a whole section of cameras with just a nope, just written on the outside of the web, trying to next one guys this is a no-go or tricking your friends to go with the web, but they did find a quite a few worlds that they were occupied. [SPEAKER_01]: Occupied by a species by the way that had no [SPEAKER_01]: webway portals, and you get really lucky, don't even know about the L-DAR.

[SPEAKER_01]: So these be com, because that means it doesn't forget the L-DAR are a superior species in the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: They are faster, smarter, and more technologically advanced than anyone else in the galaxy, barring the necrons, but they weren't awake yet. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're going with that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they begin praying on any civilization they can find. [SPEAKER_01]: this is the origin of the real space rates. [SPEAKER_01]: These are super small scale. [SPEAKER_01]: You go in grab a few dozen people and go back because they didn't really have a structure yet. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, and you had to remember that they have to give enough for all your support units.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a go grab 10 people for me to feed on. [SPEAKER_00]: You have to give something to everybody. [SPEAKER_00]: It's also a figure it out because you gotta keep enough. [SPEAKER_00]: You have to give everybody enough to keep some alive and well and happy so they don't just revolt and or join someone else, but also you don't want to get enough people that they're more powerful than you if they beat the crap.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's about to become a big problem. [SPEAKER_01]: We're just discussing there as the early raids, what you just described is the much nastier part, which is post-vect. [SPEAKER_01]: Vect, we've covered him. [SPEAKER_01]: We've read likes and more than I do, I find him fine, but all right, let me do everybody as [SPEAKER_01]: Eric, Eric Vect is was born a slave.

[SPEAKER_00]: Keep it consistent, just call him Ted. [SPEAKER_00]: Ted, Ted, Vect. [SPEAKER_01]: I think theater or Vect would work. [SPEAKER_00]: He is a ruler, theater or Vect, [SPEAKER_01]: It might have been clones like Theodore Vect, the four-hundredth E.G. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for sure. [SPEAKER_01]: This point.

[SPEAKER_01]: But, anyway, Vect was born a slave within the Dark City. [SPEAKER_01]: He's one of the many horrifying lower-level dansians. [SPEAKER_01]: He creates a crime gang. [SPEAKER_01]: He rises the power and it culminates with him ruling all of the Dejucariah and Comra. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, listen by the way, listen to our cast of this because he does a end of God father take care of every one of the same time.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was cool to ship. [SPEAKER_01]: So what happens is he then, effectively wipes out the nobility class, murders most of them. [SPEAKER_01]: In a day. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but he doesn't kill all of them, what he says is that you rule by might and by right. [SPEAKER_01]: And so what happens is the entirety of the jukari culture shifts over to this.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the fact that Beck basically says, like, your birth right is as valuable as a Prussian Frank. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, forced, I don't care about that. [SPEAKER_01]: You want to be in charge? [SPEAKER_01]: Earn it. [SPEAKER_01]: So the nobility take on these new titles by the way of true barn jucari, which have gone having rules to not having rules, to having rules to never having rules again.

[SPEAKER_01]: It looks like, and all the other things. [SPEAKER_00]: Peaky's out. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, but a true born Jew-carry just I want to cover real good for a true born Jew-carry is just a member of the former Eldar nobility who is still alive. [SPEAKER_00]: These are a 11,000, it's natural born Eldar, basically, not clone.

[SPEAKER_01]: But there, I don't think there is any more natural birth occurring is what I'm getting at. [SPEAKER_00]: No, that's what I'm saying. [SPEAKER_00]: That there's a what they offer. [SPEAKER_01]: If you had a true born Jew-carry, that's 11,000 years old at least. [SPEAKER_00]: Which is, you should probably be better than weapons go for him, it's all I'm saying.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you think so? [SPEAKER_00]: I think we'll have to go forward so we better not maybe if you've been working the jab for 11,000 years it's probably a goddamn good jab. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you know, well, that's right. [SPEAKER_01]: We did have. [SPEAKER_01]: We had true born. [SPEAKER_01]: What's it in 90, I true born with a hit on Jesus?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that was bad. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no one liked that. [SPEAKER_01]: No one liked that army. [SPEAKER_01]: I watched you play that army. [SPEAKER_01]: I watched you win a tournament with that army. [SPEAKER_00]: You're welcome. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was awesome and it's getting made sense more wise, just oopsies and they're well ready.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, cabals, I'm going to dive into now is the creation of the cabals comes out of this. [SPEAKER_01]: You have some of the nobility were able to hold onto their power and they converted their noble house into a cabal, but a lot of others rose up from the, from the start of the bottom, now we're here.

[SPEAKER_01]: Got a heat drink. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, but that's where that's how they came into being. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, the way kuppals are described is can either be very lazy or very good. [SPEAKER_01]: The lazy way of describing them is calling them a crime-syndicate, very crime-organization. [SPEAKER_01]: They're not.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a, there's a hierarchy, but that's about it. [SPEAKER_01]: They're super complex and very creative. [SPEAKER_01]: I think of the Kabbals more as British colonies during the rule of the British Empire. [SPEAKER_01]: So each Kabbal has autonomy over themselves and their region.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they can do carte blanche in that area, but they still be hold. [SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say, I was going to say one of the things why it's a little bit of both. [SPEAKER_00]: They're so big that they can't be considered just a crime family because of the fact that these, yeah, they supply everything.

[SPEAKER_00]: They do everything. [SPEAKER_00]: Every cabal is completely self-contained. [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't need anyone else. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, however, Theodore Vect is going to get his in church. [SPEAKER_01]: That's full stop, or you can try to not. [SPEAKER_01]: But, and it's a similar to the Imperium network art.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the Imperium, if your ties are flowing, the Imperium leads you with long. [SPEAKER_01]: In Comarot, as long as you show field to the Vect and you follow what Vect is telling you to do, you're fine. [SPEAKER_01]: You are welcome to challenge him, and many have tried. [SPEAKER_01]: They're all dead.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, what I like is the way a cabal grows though. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you want to challenge back, you can't, but you have to grow. [SPEAKER_01]: The way it works is that rules com over the true iron fist. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not that commerce piece flowed orderly. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the opposite.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's just that com, com are follows the rules that puts down, which is, might is, every night. [SPEAKER_01]: every single night commerce filled with the screams of people dying. [SPEAKER_01]: The city is almost at war with itself. [SPEAKER_01]: Rivals are killing each other for power, control, and looking to advance themselves, or weaken their enemies, so as to advance themselves.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the first true cabal that came out of this was Vets. [SPEAKER_01]: It was Perseveral, blah, blah, blah. [SPEAKER_00]: Cabal, blah, blah, blah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was made up of all low-born criminals and that vect then kind of brought them together. [SPEAKER_01]: They also worked incredible at espionage, infiltration, et cetera.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when vect exploded, he wiped everybody out and created almost a power vacuum that he then is stepped into and took control of her. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, this concept that he then did was he looked around and said, well, how did I achieve this? [SPEAKER_01]: And I achieved this because I wanted more than other people wanted.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that became the structure of the cabals within Comra. [SPEAKER_01]: To this end, anyone can create a cabal. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't need permission to create a cabal. [SPEAKER_01]: One thing about the cabals, when they stir-strain, they're like gangs. [SPEAKER_01]: This can be just a couple, jukari, or it could be a multi-billion member cabal.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like black heart is a poison tongue. [SPEAKER_01]: What's the other really big? [SPEAKER_00]: poison tongue. [SPEAKER_00]: poison tongue. [SPEAKER_01]: And so the whole city is in this like survival of the fittest style, much like movie Escape from New York, which if you haven't seen, that's on you because Kurt Russell with an iPad is a gem, and even bad if you don't watch Escape Ron, that was fantastic.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because Captain Ron, if you think about it, it's the third part in the Snake Plus Control. [SPEAKER_01]: Because he goes Escape from New York, then he has to escape LA, and then he does escape the Caribbean, which apparently is quite nice. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not that good, escape from the yours not that good either hate to break it to you, but you know what it's good away from that snake, please get doesn't take that [SPEAKER_00]: You know, we got no Captain Ron, Captain Ron is fantastic when he keeps switching the eye patch right up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: That was quite good. [SPEAKER_01]: It's so stupid. [SPEAKER_01]: Kurt Russell. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so all in back to the cast, all Cables start off as smaller organizations. [SPEAKER_01]: groups of warriors from like the lost echelons of the dark city, bany together, but they'll have the same high goal.

[SPEAKER_01]: They want to be fact, most of them die if I'm being honest, because he does get, he does get challenged quite frequently. [SPEAKER_00]: That puts down threats a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: But in some of those threats, he actually absorbs them in. [SPEAKER_00]: K, you didn't actually, it didn't work, but [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm going to keep you alive because you actually had promise.

[SPEAKER_00]: You got moxie, kid. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because that's the thing, or every single, the truth is, every drew carry, the man they held are elitists. [SPEAKER_01]: They don't see a difference between themselves and fact. [SPEAKER_01]: They see no reason why they shouldn't be fact. [SPEAKER_01]: It really fits them in the neck rounds of a tour, like you guys are ready for in mines.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that is, they say everything. [SPEAKER_01]: So they're always trying to move their way up. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is what creates this kind of churning of cabals. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got, when we read the books, you read your codex, you've got your main cabals. [SPEAKER_01]: But there is a consistent, like, churn of new cabals coming up, coming up, coming up.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the trick to this is, [SPEAKER_01]: getting power in influence. [SPEAKER_01]: So most cabals have their origins, except like the few who came from the ability in almost what I call a sub cabal. [SPEAKER_01]: Just backstabbing within the inner city, the trick to it is you can actually grow your cabal to what Brad was just talking about.

[SPEAKER_01]: by being aligned with a bigger cabal, black carburetor, even unofficially. [SPEAKER_01]: Most of the cabals have their origins and what I would call a sub-cabal. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is because there's all this backstabbing within the dark city, but you have to be careful with your backstabbing, because if you upset the wrong group, you could find yourself at outright war.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing about outright war in the dark cities, you will both die, because you're gonna fight each other and once the battle's finished, other people are gonna come in and finish you both off. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you really want to eliminate a rival, you need to get someone else to do it for you, and that's the way to do that is either to get the mandrakes to do it, which is going to cost you a lot, or you get a subcub all due, it's a small 510 groups.

[SPEAKER_01]: These fledgling cabals are always looking for a way to impress for like a better phrase, so they'll do stuff for that, they'll do stuff for anybody. [SPEAKER_01]: The example I put a lot of times they won't know who they're doing their work for. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you ever seen Lockstock and do smoking barrels, and if you haven't, go watch it now, turn us off, that's better than we are.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that's one of the themes in that. [SPEAKER_01]: Snatch actually a little bit as well, too. [SPEAKER_00]: Or usual suspects you're working for Kaiser Sozy. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Two movies that are light yours more. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: I will set fire to your office.

[SPEAKER_00]: You step away from Kaiser Jose. [SPEAKER_01]: You are not going to tell me usual suspects is more entertaining or enjoys. [SPEAKER_00]: Favorite movie? [SPEAKER_01]: Lockstock. [SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't mean you're right. [SPEAKER_00]: I've been wrong and I will be wrong again, sir. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying it's a bad movie.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying, if I don't pure entertainment value, but anyway, should a fledgling cabal in this system though having success, their numbers will swell. [SPEAKER_01]: Just how Vect was born a slave in the dark city, millions, maybe trillions more are. [SPEAKER_01]: And they're looking for a way to improve their lot in life.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so what they're always looking for is how do I join another group or make my own group to then grow? [SPEAKER_01]: Now, as I said, most of them in a dead, if they're lucky, if they're unlucky, not having to get hold of them. [SPEAKER_00]: And I love, but one of my favorites is, with the Kabbal structure is, you have to either overplay your powers that people don't mess with you, or you have to act small and draw in, because there's that weird, [SPEAKER_00]: walking the knife's edge of, hey, these guys look like a threat.

[SPEAKER_00]: We got to end them and they're big. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: And so this is really, but that's one, one thing about the Caballs is they're really, really, really good at espionage and some. [SPEAKER_01]: If you're the ones who are successful, rest them all, die off because to Brad's exact point there, [SPEAKER_01]: that's the trick you have to grow yourself but not let anyone know how powerful you are until you're powerful enough to fight anyone off.

[SPEAKER_01]: So there's that middle ground of just pure danger. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, there's a, oh no, I'm in danger. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: One other piece about the cabals that becomes an issue for them to what we're discussing here is there seems to be a limited amount of power available within the dark city.

[SPEAKER_01]: And what I mean by that is it's not a firm thing, but it appears that like in order for one cabal to come up, another cabal has to come down. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not that there's a fixed amount, but it's kind of a fixed amount. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: And the absolute result.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, as a result, cabals aren't really [SPEAKER_01]: happy to have other cabals, but they have to. [SPEAKER_01]: And the reason why is that I have to attack the other cabal in order to gain power and move them out. [SPEAKER_01]: But once I attack the other cabal, everyone knows that I'm willing to attack cabals.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they are also a cabal, and don't want that to happen. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's basically high-lander. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what this is. [SPEAKER_01]: This is stolen from high-lander. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, in high-lander, if someone starts chopping off other high-lander heads, everyone knows that's a bad high-lander.

[SPEAKER_01]: You shouldn't be around him. [SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know how else to explain this. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, actually, there was a thousand better examples I could use to explain this than Highlander, but I just want to take a moment to remind everybody that in the movie Highlander, Sean Connery, was playing a Spaniard, and he made Zero.

[SPEAKER_01]: Zero effort to do anything involving Spain. [SPEAKER_01]: He actually sounds more Scottish in this movie than he does in the rock. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what, step away from that because he was the best Russian submarine commander with the Scottish. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're right.

[SPEAKER_01]: That is. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the other one. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Huh? [SPEAKER_01]: In which movie did Sean Connery make less of an effort, hunt for Red October or Highlander of to not be Scottish? [SPEAKER_00]: And he's just very proud of Scott Smith. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's more of this piece of look.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're an actor and a good actor. [SPEAKER_01]: I know he can do an accent. [SPEAKER_01]: He just shows not to. [SPEAKER_01]: That's amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: Ugh, anyway, good balls. [SPEAKER_00]: So if everywhere with this cast is gone today, we do old movie references. [SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[SPEAKER_01]: So as a result of this, most of the fighting within the dark cities actually done by the lower level coballs. [SPEAKER_01]: The ones that are so small, the larger coballs don't really care, and they fight amongst themselves and occasionally pick up the larger coballs. [SPEAKER_01]: The idea here for the successful coballs is I'm not going to outright chop the head off.

[SPEAKER_01]: my opponent. [SPEAKER_01]: Because as we discussed also during the jukari cast, that opponent probably has come in as they're supporting them so they can regenerate so it's actually really hard to kill the leader. [SPEAKER_01]: I need to slowly wither away their power so that they become weak enough that not only I but everyone prays on them at once and they just disappear and they're like a feeding.

[SPEAKER_00]: You take away logistics and resources, that's what you're doing. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the main thing. [SPEAKER_01]: In order to do this, you need allies. [SPEAKER_01]: And to get these allies, you're gonna get mercenaries or other cabals. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's gonna cost resources. [SPEAKER_01]: So how do you get those resources?

[SPEAKER_01]: Now get into the real space, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Because that it's core, this is the most important part of the jukari, lore from a tabletop to lore perspective. [SPEAKER_01]: Why are the jukari even in the game? [SPEAKER_01]: Real space rates. [SPEAKER_01]: So real space raid is when Joukari used the web way to jump into real space.

[SPEAKER_01]: Once they're there, they just have full blown assault and slaughter and capture. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what they're trying to do, and then disappear back in the web way. [SPEAKER_01]: The goal is to use the raid, both as a boost to those raiding, and also to bring supplies to strengthen their position back in the dark room.

[SPEAKER_00]: But during the raid, sometimes the raid will continue longer than normal because during the raid, the dricari are getting faster, stronger, more agile, more precise because they're powering up from all the pain and suffering that they're doing. [SPEAKER_00]: And they actually have, [SPEAKER_00]: weaponry and war gear that's designed to heighten the fear and the tear and the dying suffering from everybody that they're fighting.

[SPEAKER_00]: They had tons of stuff that's not supposed to kill, but incapacitate. [SPEAKER_00]: and cause you pain as you're going to further power them up and this in lore and tabletop works very well with that because you power up during the fight you come in fast and furious but like you really rock and roll once the it starts going because then [SPEAKER_00]: They've got some great stories, excuse me, they've got some great stories of this, and a lot of the short stories with Jacari raids where they show up and then as the raid goes on, you can't even see their movements anymore, they're so quick going on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and what I want to talk about, the way the raids would go down, which is to be some examples is, are we really are trying to harm and create fear? [SPEAKER_01]: So they'll sit there, they use poison rounds, by the way, and they'll sit there and just have to plink at people. [SPEAKER_01]: And because they're not just the person that they hit with poison who's, you know, insides are turning to fire and melting, who's screaming that's giving them joy.

[SPEAKER_01]: but it's also the people around that person panicking and getting scared, also feeds them. [SPEAKER_01]: So they have to, it's multiple layers of horror is what they're doing. [SPEAKER_01]: Others just go super fast, lopping heads off. [SPEAKER_01]: The goal here is to get this thing almost into a further where the sounds of people screaming is louder than the weapons and the jet technology that they're using.

[SPEAKER_01]: because it is all about panic deposition. [SPEAKER_01]: And I do want to call something out here. [SPEAKER_01]: This is different than like a world eater, emperors, children, night lord, or chaos attack. [SPEAKER_01]: Those ones also violent, high level of suffering. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, sucks don't give me wrong.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the way the true car we do it is much more amplified. [SPEAKER_01]: Like a night lord raid is decided. [SPEAKER_00]: It's an art for my friend and art for. [SPEAKER_01]: They're all art forms though. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just different, but with different goals, like a nightlords, they love to create enough like havoc and problems that the people actually turn on themselves.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they've had whole populace is killing each other. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what they want. [SPEAKER_01]: The carcaradans are still lawful good. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, out of good. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't. [SPEAKER_00]: Sure, I just never been something you've been more wrong about than that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I think and so it's grief that I don't care. [SPEAKER_01]: The world leaders also, a lot of slaughter, but it's blood for the blood God. [SPEAKER_01]: They're looking, they're not always looking for combat per se, but it's not just a whole sale slaughter. [SPEAKER_01]: They're looking to actually create fights.

[SPEAKER_01]: Even the emperor's children, as decked as the slenesh are, it's still difficult. [SPEAKER_01]: They're very close, but it's different. [SPEAKER_00]: There's why slenesh cults happen in jr car, because it's, they want to have stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: they come from the same, it's the same order to the story.

[SPEAKER_01]: But they are different in the way that you carry power up. [SPEAKER_01]: The slenesh similar. [SPEAKER_01]: But the difference is that the slenesh, you call it's also, they're more just pure capture because they'll get the slenesh and you need to get you back into the dark room, and back into the work.

[SPEAKER_00]: Does that? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, one quick, we've talked about it in our precarious cast, which is a lot of times when you have real space raids, you have coalitions because everybody, [SPEAKER_00]: basically your biggest enemies to show up with you so that if anybody takes a loss, everybody takes a loss, even though it never happens that way, but that's what you're trying to do.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's a good point. [SPEAKER_01]: So let's talk about the planning phase of your car. [SPEAKER_01]: Because the jucari have a huge problem. [SPEAKER_01]: In the lower and on the table top, they are a glass cannon. [SPEAKER_01]: They are built for speed and power. [SPEAKER_01]: So everything that they do is designed to go fast and hit hard.

[SPEAKER_01]: The things that when you're maximizing damage and speed, you don't maximize arm. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not even just that. [SPEAKER_00]: They also have to be able to experience the pain and suffering, so they can't be in a big armoured shell. [SPEAKER_00]: But because you're maximizing your ability to for me to hear your screams, you're like, hey man, is Brad just hanging his head out of an open top vehicle?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it maximizes his enjoyment of screams, but also maximizes my chance that I'm going to get shot in the face, and this is a problem. [SPEAKER_01]: And so what happens for the true car is they can't withstand a counterattack. [SPEAKER_01]: In effect, and this isn't a lore. [SPEAKER_01]: Also not tabletop.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've experienced what happens when your witch is bounce. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not fun. [SPEAKER_01]: They just stand there and go. [SPEAKER_01]: So this we're all dead now. [SPEAKER_01]: As a result, they have to do two things to make themselves accessible. [SPEAKER_01]: First, they're style of warfare, and we cover this in a true carry cast.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's layering levels of attack, designed, you know, the ravagers and the raiders come in, taking out emplacements, venom and heliins are terrorizing the outline forces, then witches, incubi, cabalites, all descend, coven members may join in on this. [SPEAKER_01]: It's designed to be for this layered attack of removing key installations as they go to.

[SPEAKER_01]: But they also need to have planning, and we're gonna get into that in a second. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's because in the dark realm, there's nothing more valuable than the slaves brought back in a real space rate. [SPEAKER_01]: This, you bring back a good real space rate, can actually elevate a cabal like many times, because as we said, the only currency that exists in camera.

[SPEAKER_01]: is slaves, pain, and torture. [SPEAKER_01]: So if I've got a bunch of them, I can then barter those for alliances or more importantly mercenaries. [SPEAKER_01]: Incubi, for example, if I'm an archon and I want to move around the dark city safely, having a quarterly, coder-a, whatever that word is, of Incubi around me, make me effectively invincible.

[SPEAKER_01]: But those Incubi aren't doing that for [SPEAKER_01]: They're doing it for a reason. [SPEAKER_01]: So I had to form these alliances. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, when we talk about these alliances, one of the big alliances you can do is a real space-raid alliance. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm getting some of the larger cabals don't have to do this, but most cabals are going to need to bring people with them.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they can be with other cabals to your rivals. [SPEAKER_01]: It can be with which cults who actually may, by the way, be associated with your rival. [SPEAKER_01]: But they're which cults. [SPEAKER_01]: Manjurakes, if you really want to, when a party and bring in demons, they were not demons, but totally demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: All of them, yeah, all of them want to come in. [SPEAKER_01]: So I got it. [SPEAKER_01]: I've set my rate up. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, what's going to happen is, I can't just say, hey, I'm going to real space rate, do you want to come? [SPEAKER_01]: Because the flip side is, well, if you're real space rate sucks, I die.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't want to do that. [SPEAKER_01]: So they need to actually show why is this real space rate going to be successful. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is where you quarry to make it super cool. [SPEAKER_01]: The jukari plan these things out meticulously. [SPEAKER_01]: They're still elder. [SPEAKER_01]: So it can be something as simple as, oh.

[SPEAKER_01]: I picked up a rumor from a course air fleet about this unprotected settlement or a slave your torturing is just we'll say anything and they'll tell you about a settlement that's or it's planet that's totally exposed. [SPEAKER_01]: They also will do stuff with the actually implant, I don't know, it's hard to say implanting things in people that turned them into thralls.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not really clear how they are. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they have like my control, those are like a common thing on that. [SPEAKER_00]: but they basically bring back information and our turn off the shields or whatever, you know. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they'll send, they'll take a person that they've captured and they'll implant this in their skull and then send out this, the neurons do this too.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it's in the infant of the vine, tracing does this and they'll send you back out to your city and then while there you'll just wander over the forest filled button and turn it off or the radar button and turn it off. [SPEAKER_01]: That now knowing they could do that, this is what they then go to their potential allies for and say, look, this is our plan.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is where we're going. [SPEAKER_01]: Here are the defenses. [SPEAKER_01]: Here's how many people are there. [SPEAKER_01]: Here's what I think will be great. [SPEAKER_01]: So then we go into the real space rate. [SPEAKER_01]: Phase one's pretty simple. [SPEAKER_01]: The rate happens.

[SPEAKER_01]: They go out there, they do other things. [SPEAKER_00]: And give me a little bit again. [SPEAKER_00]: Ta-da! [SPEAKER_00]: Ta-da! [SPEAKER_01]: It's a rate. [SPEAKER_01]: The rate occurs. [SPEAKER_01]: There is slaughter. [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone on the raid is just having a grand old time.

[SPEAKER_01]: They are loaded up. [SPEAKER_01]: There's so much power that's coming from all this pain. [SPEAKER_01]: They are having a plus five star good time. [SPEAKER_01]: But then they get back into the dark city, which is phase two, which I find more interesting. [SPEAKER_00]: So let's let's set this up real quick.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's one of the things we didn't talk about. [SPEAKER_00]: Which is phase two is probably the bigger phase. [SPEAKER_00]: Because phase two has to be ready for everyone to jump you as soon as you come back into the dark city, as soon as you're under back in the camera. [SPEAKER_01]: So this is why some of the deals you made before going to real space rate weren't actually people to come with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was for people to be there for you when you get back. [SPEAKER_01]: Basically a large portion of the real space rate bounty is spoken for. [SPEAKER_01]: You either have it for alliances on the rate. [SPEAKER_01]: So hey, might this come and come to it through, so they're taking 10% or it could be for people who are protecting you back at home.

[SPEAKER_01]: It also can just be for the feed your own people. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to fill your holds of your cabal, you have to give them over to the witch cults, et cetera. [SPEAKER_01]: So all this is designed, it's moving forward. [SPEAKER_01]: But you also do usually have a chunk that you save for bartering.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is buying new services from Covins to ensure the launch of an archon, trading with corsairs for more equipment or information. [SPEAKER_01]: You might be a gift to a witch cult to strengthen your alliance with them. [SPEAKER_01]: Mandrakes. [SPEAKER_01]: This is one way you can get mandrakes on your side.

[SPEAKER_01]: A very, very good ally. [SPEAKER_01]: Useless model in the game. [SPEAKER_01]: The other one too that they'll do with some of this is actually give them as tribute to another cabal to gain favor. [SPEAKER_01]: Be go to a, you wouldn't go to a black card if you want, but it's probably a little bit too far above your pay grade.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the idea being is to the way to gain favor and say, look, this is how good we are at real space rating. [SPEAKER_01]: can we join you? [SPEAKER_01]: Can we merge together, et cetera? [SPEAKER_00]: Can you give me more jobs, basically? [SPEAKER_00]: And I will, I will do things on a person.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because the real goal of the real space rate itself is never actually the rate. [SPEAKER_01]: It's what the rate can do for the Kabul. [SPEAKER_01]: The, everything else doesn't really matter. [SPEAKER_01]: The gain you get in power from that is as we've just got it is fleeting. [SPEAKER_01]: So even though I got super powered up on this raid, eh, I'm now gonna lose power.

[SPEAKER_01]: So how does this raid make it so that I maintain more power going forward? [SPEAKER_01]: That's that. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's a real space raid. [SPEAKER_01]: The last thing I would talk about that before we finish is, because I'm in the middle of this right now, is the cabals themselves.

[SPEAKER_01]: One of my favorite reasons to play Drew Carries, we never touch this last time, is there are one of the few factions that you can really do whatever you want with is still stays lower, central. [SPEAKER_00]: 100% lower, central. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I am as I said before, I own [SPEAKER_01]: a lot of armies and almost all of the armies I own are a home brew my elder are their own craft world they're black and red my tyrannids are black and silver for their high-flee my guard are a kind of a camo style but the room it's a combined regiment I've got Keyons Kriegsman general regiments all built into there [SPEAKER_01]: My Votan or Santa Claus themed, which was not intentional, it just that's what happens when you batch paint with the Rackarth flesh in with this thong red.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'd love the fact that you made Santa Claus on all your guys. [SPEAKER_01]: It was long being, it's just, I was, I think 60 models in. [SPEAKER_01]: I'd done the Rackarth on all of them, and I was going through them with this thong, and looked down like, why do you look familiar? [SPEAKER_01]: And then it occurred to me, I just made Santa.

[SPEAKER_01]: I made 45 Santa Clauses. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't feel like stripping them, so I'll screw it. [SPEAKER_01]: So now, every model I have is Santa Claus. [SPEAKER_01]: is what is. [SPEAKER_01]: My Harley Quinn's are a checkered pattern that there's similar to the veil path, but it's a little bit different.

[SPEAKER_01]: My works are my orgasm army. [SPEAKER_01]: As I said before, really the only armies I have that are traditionally painted are imperial agents. [SPEAKER_01]: My death watch, but they've got custom. [SPEAKER_00]: I just want to say yeah, not really. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, my thousand sons, my demons, and my deathguard, those are all traditional.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the reason I say that is with my jukari, I have this like, hodgepodge of jukari. [SPEAKER_01]: Everything is painted differently. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's one of the few armies, guard works this way, but where you can do that and it looks cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Because it's supposed to be that way because you're bringing in which cults, you're bringing in Covins, you're bringing in all your cabal, and your cabal might have sub-cabals.

[SPEAKER_00]: So on the board, it should look like you're basically just full of mercenaries that have been paid to fight for you. [SPEAKER_01]: For those of you who build in paint armies, the coolest part about you carrys, you can take a jocary army and have different bases. [SPEAKER_01]: You can do that different paint scheme, different everything all throughout, and it actually makes sense.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you, if I'm running, I'm going to run a list in January of 26th at the glass city. [SPEAKER_01]: Good event. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll be there. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll bring my jukari. [SPEAKER_01]: My witchcoats that I'm bringing to that will actually have will be different. [SPEAKER_01]: My two different witchcoats will look very different from each other.

[SPEAKER_01]: My warriors will look different from each other. [SPEAKER_01]: Even the ships themselves are all a little bit different. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that about them. [SPEAKER_01]: It looks cool. [SPEAKER_01]: It looks like, oh, this is a real space raid, because all these people came together.

[SPEAKER_01]: Kari came together to take part in this raid. [SPEAKER_01]: So for those of you who, you know, looking for an army to build out in paint, I always recommend your carry. [SPEAKER_01]: They're a very fun army to play. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: They're fun. [SPEAKER_01]: They're horrible.

[SPEAKER_01]: Horrible. [SPEAKER_01]: Human creatures in the lore. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh god. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh god. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's that. [SPEAKER_01]: But with that, let's take a break. [SPEAKER_01]: We spend a lot of time talking about your carry and how they pray on settlements. [SPEAKER_01]: So in my as well talk about someone who has a history of standing up to your carry.

[SPEAKER_01]: Most. [SPEAKER_01]: I know the man. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's no guilliman. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're doing to do this. [SPEAKER_01]: We're doing sellemanders. [SPEAKER_00]: Sellemanders. [SPEAKER_01]: Sellemanders were a long time coming. [SPEAKER_01]: The reason that we've waited so long for one to know is that we were waiting on GW to expand their lore.

[SPEAKER_01]: They did release a Vulcan model. [SPEAKER_01]: Get awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: None of you guys had helped with this one. [SPEAKER_01]: It Brad wasn't that. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a remodel. [SPEAKER_01]: Brad was hyped. [SPEAKER_01]: Thinking that he was getting a Vulcan model. [SPEAKER_01]: Salmon enters, we're getting a book.

[SPEAKER_01]: See the 10th. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: That was a reverse. [SPEAKER_00]: Because they did the release. [SPEAKER_00]: And everybody set me. [SPEAKER_00]: You see the new Vulcan? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, oh man. [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't even remember where I was, but I was driving and I came back and I was got so excited to check it out.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a new Vulcan history model. [SPEAKER_01]: It was Ted. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if it was Ted, that's what you've got. [SPEAKER_01]: You were expecting, yeah, you're expecting the largest, most strongest and your my noblest primarck. [SPEAKER_01]: And instead you got Ted, the sellemander.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was going to be awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, there's still hope for Dorn. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we'll get Dorn. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, don't you put that evil on me, Richie Bobby. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh God, it's nothing I want more. [SPEAKER_01]: We've given what they just did.

[SPEAKER_01]: Calgar, imagine they did Dorn model. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to play it every tournament. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he's so busted. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, with that, this John Barzati and Brad Chester. [SPEAKER_01]: This guy. [SPEAKER_01]: See you all next week.
