<p>On today’s cast we jump into the Minotaurs chapter of the Space Marines. Starting with the earliest mentions of any space marines called the Minotaurs in the lore. But then we get into the more firm accounts starting in the 41<sup>st</sup> millennia. With them being super cool during the Macharian Heresy, Badab Wars, saving the Crimson Fists, and more. We spend a lot of out time talking about how the Minotaurs fight and behave, with an especial focus on what makes them different from other space marine chapters. We also spend a good amount on their super crazy bad ass (but also crazy violent) chapter master Asterion Moloc, and what or who we think he might be.</p><p><br></p><p><a href="patreon.com/The40kLorecast" rel="nofollow">Patreon</a></p><p><a href="etsy.com/shop/The40kLorecast" rel="nofollow">Merchandise</a></p><p><a href="Discord.gg/40klc" rel="nofollow">Discord Link:</a></p><p><a href="the40klorecast.com/" rel="nofollow">Our Website</a></p><p><a href="open.spotify.com/show/7dEDiuP31Ap81EHtWMS3LG?s…; rel="nofollow">Retro Recall</a></p><p><a href="youtube.com/@BradChester71" rel="nofollow">Brad Channel</a></p><br/><br/>Our Sponsors:<br/>* Check out Progressive: progressive.com<br/>* Check out Quince and use my code 40KLORE for a great deal: quince.com<br/>* Check out Shopify and use my code shopify.com/lore for a great deal: shopify.com<br/><br/><br/>Ad… Inquiries: <a href='redcircle.com/brands'>https://redcircle.com… & Opt-Out: <a href='redcircle.com/privacy'>https://redcircle.co…;

[SPEAKER_01]: can't leave that one out there. [SPEAKER_00]: I really just want to tell everyone that we cover the lords of terror last week and Brad actually did get very sick.
[SPEAKER_01]: Can I just tell you why I'm sick? [SPEAKER_01]: Like how can the lords of terror actually almost kill me? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you actually did get wildly ill afterwards. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, just saying, 40K lower cast, weekly show in the lower the Warhammer 40K universe, releasing every Monday at 7 p.m. Eastern.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's also just genuine the guys. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: It does help us pay bills and do some fun stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have a pretty big glow up at a depth of calm this year. [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of that's because of Patreon. [SPEAKER_00]: So thank you guys for that. [SPEAKER_00]: For those who don't know, [SPEAKER_00]: Patreon $4.99 a month. [SPEAKER_00]: You get this show and history of 40k ad free or still $4.99 a month.
[SPEAKER_00]: A bunch of the foreign listeners were like, hey, you keep making comments about other countries. [SPEAKER_00]: What about the United States? [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, we'll do United States. [SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to start where I was born. [SPEAKER_00]: Philadelphia gets my ass from Ohio.
[SPEAKER_00]: Scrapple, water-rice, wall-a, and the greatest American football team to ever live the Eagles. [SPEAKER_00]: Gobirds. [SPEAKER_00]: It's also the birthplace of the nation. [SPEAKER_00]: You're a Raider fan. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even want... [SPEAKER_00]: I don't like you. [SPEAKER_00]: Raider fan.
[SPEAKER_00]: You live in Ohio. [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: But it is actually the birthplace of the nation, which is pretty cool. [SPEAKER_00]: That gives us better than water-rice, which I understand that those two words don't make a lot of sense together. [SPEAKER_00]: Whatever my wife and I had this discussion.
[SPEAKER_00]: But for visitors, Philadelphia is kind of a cultural phenomenon, founded in 1682 by William Penn and English Quaker, searching for a legislative freedom. [SPEAKER_00]: The city's kind of followed that history of independence, mostly, for a lot of its existence. [SPEAKER_00]: If you want to visit, it is really cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can go down to Independence Hall. [SPEAKER_00]: We can see where the Declaration of Independence was written and signed. [SPEAKER_00]: It's also where they wrote the Constitution. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they looked a lot of people out of that document. [SPEAKER_00]: Look, I didn't call that one out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's screw them for that move. [SPEAKER_00]: There's also a kick-ass zoo. [SPEAKER_00]: awesome science museum good natural history museum and you know and more and if you want to experience a sporting game go we are a delight I mean don't now you know it go it's a lot of fun Philadelphia sports are a joy and I'll also call it outside of New York L.A. San Francisco in Chicago [SPEAKER_00]: Philadelphia is probably the best food scene in the country.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's massive diversity of foods and flavors. [SPEAKER_00]: And even better news, despite our little run there of being the murder capital, we've cleaned it up. [SPEAKER_00]: We're down to 23rd. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd like to look it up today to make sure. [SPEAKER_00]: So still watch your ass, but you're doing much better, which does, by the way, put us before Brad grumbles.
[SPEAKER_00]: Behind, we're doing better than Cleveland, Dayton, Cincinnati, and Akron. [SPEAKER_00]: You have four cities in your horrible state that are higher murder rates than Philadelphia. [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't want to hear it because you guys are under achievers. [SPEAKER_00]: No, we were over achievers for quite a few years there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Got a little girl got a little dicey. [SPEAKER_00]: But anyways, we're deep. [SPEAKER_00]: You see, yep. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we were taking it to Chicago's ass. [SPEAKER_00]: That wasn't an ideal time. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, but lastly, also Discord. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you don't like any of the comments I just made about Philadelphia or those other cities, feel free to come into Discord and I'll explain to you how awesome my city is.
[SPEAKER_00]: And because we have wonderful things like tasty cakes, they're tasty and they're cake. [SPEAKER_00]: But you joined the Discord. [SPEAKER_01]: You didn't go to the eventually people. [SPEAKER_01]: We see where we're going. [SPEAKER_01]: Eventually, [SPEAKER_01]: you're going to get an Ohio Lynch mob that's going to come after you and find out where you're going to go people where we're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's Ohio. [SPEAKER_00]: I assume it's just. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's, it's just not that scary. [SPEAKER_00]: I assume they'll get really riled up and then that Midwest polliteness will come right through. [SPEAKER_00]: They go, we're not that mad, you know? [SPEAKER_00]: Like that's the thing, you're bad enough Boston, you're gonna get punched, you're bad mouth Ohio.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're gonna get scolded. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, you're scared of an Indiana. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, you want, you're much more intimidating than Indiana. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know what this is, anyway, come join our discord and yell at me. [SPEAKER_00]: It's half the fun. [SPEAKER_00]: But also gonna know discord and have real fun.
[SPEAKER_00]: Coming to a discord, great place to learn about literature, talk about the lore, Brad's actually not doing some coaching events in there, which is pretty cool. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a great spot to learn about either how to play the game, more about the lore, or just generally hang out, memes, talk about your pets, talk about food.
[SPEAKER_00]: All sorts of rocks. [SPEAKER_01]: The meme channel has been killing it lately. [SPEAKER_01]: Shest chest, everybody in there. [SPEAKER_00]: There's been some great stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Guys, but let's get into the miniatars for real this time. [UNKNOWN]: Bye. [SPEAKER_00]: Starting off with the mentors are actually really complicated, chapter as we don't know anything about their founding or true history.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is because any and all records are redacted. [SPEAKER_01]: On purpose, even the Lord itself. [SPEAKER_01]: And things they also, I would say, we know a bunch about their founding kind of because there's a bunch of conflicting tales about their founding on purpose. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and that's where it's what ends up happening with them is the authority of the Lord's of terror, have redacted, basically everything that they can redact.
[SPEAKER_00]: The only stuff that they can't redact is when the Minotars engage in actions within the Imperium, like Bedab. [SPEAKER_00]: So when they show up in Bedab, the Minotars appear in Imperial history, but stuff like their structure, their organization, their history, completely opaque. [SPEAKER_00]: And that actually even makes their history confusing, because we only are really aware of the Manitahar's existence as being a firm existence for the last thousand years, but M41 is.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's when so many tales of before that also. [SPEAKER_01]: And the thing is that a lot of times, the Manitahar's only have real, by doing air quotes, no one can see any, but I'm still doing air quotes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's the tradition. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Is when they interact with other authorities?
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a big deal because the other [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for a lot of good reasons we're going to get to shortly. [SPEAKER_00]: So let's go back to the very first instance of the miniatars. [SPEAKER_00]: It's actually M32. [SPEAKER_00]: So not long after all the primarics were gone from the galaxy, chaos staged this attack on segmentum solar.
[SPEAKER_00]: World leaders, nightlords, and iron warriors led chaos cults that create a series of rebellions on the port side of segmentum solar. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm doing that now. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what, it makes us much sense [SPEAKER_00]: as North East Southwest, so we're going to say that was the west side of no same answer, so we're going Port, we're off the port side, took a bunch of heat from my blackbird beard comment, so high hoe, high hoe, here we go, we're going Port side.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about good, good, well, good for cast reviance. [SPEAKER_01]: This thing was badass to be honest with you. [SPEAKER_01]: This is billions of [SPEAKER_00]: And so what happened was the yes, so to stop this four space marine chapters kind of an interesting renowned attack and suppressed it so you had the angels of absolution who are a dark angels successor, one of the only ones that actually hunts the fallen with them they are very close to the actual dark angels.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then you have the death eagles who are a rave and guard successor, maybe we're actually not even sure they're believed to be The car carried on. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the first time the car carried on showed up. [SPEAKER_01]: They appeared here and then it was back at a dark space no one called the me there.
[SPEAKER_00]: They just [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: They just showed up. [SPEAKER_00]: They're okay. [SPEAKER_00]: We're here to help. [SPEAKER_00]: We definitely did not call you like why are you here? [SPEAKER_00]: But all right. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess help. [SPEAKER_00]: And then a chapter simply referred to as the Minotars.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're listed as the Minotars. [SPEAKER_00]: There's no name chapter members. [SPEAKER_00]: No chapter. [SPEAKER_00]: It's mission nothing. [SPEAKER_00]: Just it states the Minotars were there. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a list of information you could post. [SPEAKER_01]: I know we had to cover this part, but I don't think this is the Minotars.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's real. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's interesting because I actually think it could be. [SPEAKER_00]: And the reason why is that because after this, there's no mention of the Manitars again for like 4,000 years. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, until we get into 36. [SPEAKER_00]: But the thing is this does track because this was a rebellion in segmentum solar.
[SPEAKER_00]: which put it really close to soul, which would make this is the only reason it would make sense. [SPEAKER_00]: And it gets conflicting. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll give you kind of a reason for and a reason against. [SPEAKER_00]: The reason for is that this rebellion, it's right by segmentum solar, so they are genuinely afraid of dying.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they had the Minotars hidden, they would throw them into this to keep themselves alive. [SPEAKER_00]: But the flip side is that, you know, when Vengorich is in there, when the war of the beast comes through, there's no minute. [SPEAKER_01]: Just there. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: The shit out of the minitars.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: So it doesn't really make sense as the minitars. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just it is. [SPEAKER_00]: They are mentioned. [SPEAKER_00]: So I kind of agree with bread. [SPEAKER_00]: Probably isn't them. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they had them and they sent them off on a, I don't know, a vision quest and they just got lost for $10,000.
[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, so the next appearance for them is 4,000 years later, and M36 sort of not really. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is, it's more their peer by name. [SPEAKER_00]: This is when the 21st space marine founding occurs. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the cursed fountain. [SPEAKER_01]: It should have been the 13th founding, because this founding with bad, bad, and each one of them, [SPEAKER_00]: This is the dumbest found.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but they were also, they talked a lot about their trying to make. [SPEAKER_01]: They were cheap. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, from a narrative standpoint, they call it a cursed founding. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to about to all over this. [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't getting cursed. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a bunch of guys that were trying to put extra spice in the mixture and everything went wrong.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the Madjo's biologist who oversaw it was trying to basically do what Call did with a primarck project and make better authorities. [SPEAKER_00]: And they just made busted ones. [SPEAKER_00]: So they made seven chapters. [SPEAKER_00]: And they all had different genetic flaws. [SPEAKER_01]: So he was trying to make private air sprees and instead got poop marines because every one of these chapters had a pretty big flaw.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_00]: See, that's my issue with this. [SPEAKER_00]: You say that because that's what the Lord says. [SPEAKER_00]: Then you look them up and they don't. [SPEAKER_00]: The blood-ingled successors are called the lamenters. [SPEAKER_00]: They got sashin', they got, yeah, they made a sad chapter.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then the ultra-means successor, the firehawk, got bad luck. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what they got, bad luck. [SPEAKER_00]: bad things happen to the fire hawks. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're over to and be giving a crap. [SPEAKER_00]: Then the salamanders got armed bones. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that it isn't no good thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: It actually messes with stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Has no value. [SPEAKER_00]: No value. [SPEAKER_00]: No value. [SPEAKER_00]: No value. [SPEAKER_00]: I was just in a world. [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, in a galaxy of power swords. [SPEAKER_00]: No value. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, then you have the sense of I'm in tears.
[SPEAKER_01]: actually got cooler stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they turned to Wolverine. [SPEAKER_00]: Their bones are made of metal. [SPEAKER_00]: So sucks going through airport security, but that's about it. [SPEAKER_00]: But again, sounds cool on paper. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: These space marines bones are made of metal.
[SPEAKER_00]: That sounds cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Space marines where power armor, which is made of ceremony. [SPEAKER_00]: So who cares? [SPEAKER_00]: What's on the inside? [SPEAKER_00]: I do. [SPEAKER_00]: It's cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Why? [SPEAKER_00]: What's it gonna matter? [SPEAKER_00]: Because the dudes went, swagger fast, went, six million dollars man, but he's not.
[SPEAKER_00]: The space screens are made faster by the power armor. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a useless thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Come on. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, then the flame falcons were the only ones who were actually kind of cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Because for some reason, they would burst in the flame like the human torch and would walk around burning, like the human torch.
[SPEAKER_00]: But then the grain, I saw it in the way. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the nope. [SPEAKER_01]: not significant at all because they got to do the eight minutes and the great nights with heresy. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was cool. [SPEAKER_00]: We actually had a bunch of guys who could yell flame on, and we're going to throw a fight chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're by the way, we're completely loyalists and the great nights went, nope, not doing that. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they're all down. [SPEAKER_01]: The reason that I think of this as a real thing to be honest with you, I'll give you your point. [SPEAKER_01]: First founding, however, when I think of this founding, I think of the Gorgons who instantly went, yeah, work as.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, not instantly, the Gorgans took some time. [SPEAKER_00]: The Gorgans figured out that somehow they could trade their organs with each other. [SPEAKER_00]: And remember that whole thing where space marines can eat things and gain their memories that GW just forgot about because it's kind of stupid if I'm being honest, the Gorgans actually did it and realized if I exchange organs with you, by the way, they said organs, not blood, [SPEAKER_00]: organs.
[SPEAKER_00]: They just trade them out because apparently space rings are made of legos. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not really sure how this was working. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like wild type stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and they were doing this and they would gain each of those knowledge. [SPEAKER_00]: But then if one guy is chaos, this is kind of how...
[SPEAKER_00]: They would also gain all their chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: This is how you get ants. [SPEAKER_00]: John, this is how you get ants. [SPEAKER_00]: This is how you get ants. [SPEAKER_00]: That's exactly how you get ants. [SPEAKER_00]: Lotta. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, so they didn't go great. [SPEAKER_00]: They had to be exterminated.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then there was the minitars. [SPEAKER_00]: The minitars were a pizerkers. [SPEAKER_00]: They were basically the world leaders pizerkers. [SPEAKER_00]: They would just run recklessly into battle, charging it enemies with reckless abandon. [SPEAKER_00]: And like hold on now. [SPEAKER_01]: could not be told about times we say in their talked about of the books is reckless abandon and all of it is somebody you know having a lot of aggression when they're doing their melee combat that's not this this is full on berserker raids they did not listen to anything there was no plans there was no strategy there was just murdering people so yeah you're reckless abandon [SPEAKER_00]: The thought process around this is that this was either just randomly, hey, this was a chapter called the Minotars, then they were exterminated, and then the Minotars we have today.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it's a recycled name. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the same way like there's a ton of sports teams that are named, you know, the Spartans or whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, because you wouldn't name your sports teams, I mean, stupid, like a tree nut would you? [SPEAKER_00]: It may be really dumb, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: If you really want to do it, it's still fear and an opponent. [SPEAKER_00]: You wouldn't want to name your sports team after a treat not. [SPEAKER_00]: I like him. [SPEAKER_00]: No, just, it would be a really, really stupid idea. [SPEAKER_00]: We can all agree on that, right? [SPEAKER_00]: No one, no one, no university, for example, would do something that's stupid, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: I will punch you in the throat. [SPEAKER_01]: Buckeye fans everywhere, take a fence with us. [SPEAKER_00]: No, admit Buckeye fans, it's stupid. [SPEAKER_00]: I will not. [SPEAKER_00]: You're named after a tree nut. [SPEAKER_01]: I will, however, say, what if now this is another, this is back to back Brad Thierry's.
[SPEAKER_01]: First one, nothing. [SPEAKER_01]: I actually think that they stole these guys. [SPEAKER_01]: I think the lords of Tara made their own chapter after they basically took a broken chapter. [SPEAKER_01]: And still may be. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's possible. [SPEAKER_00]: My theory, I think the mentors are chimeric.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think they were just created and I think they they made deep further back Then this it's this I think is a cover story is what I think it was. [SPEAKER_00]: I think they were like, oh, yeah, they they're made here Because I do think that the mentors may actually be heretical if you actually dive into how they were made Well that that's kind of where I was guy that's why I thought maybe they were this these ones because these guys are just [SPEAKER_00]: I think these guys are a cover story originally for that is kind of fell apart, but I think the Minotars are technically heretical, because they're a chimeric gen C, but you're not supposed to have.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, all space marine chapters are supposed to have a founding chapter. [SPEAKER_00]: Minotars do not. [SPEAKER_01]: They are super willing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because they were put together in a lab. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, everybody was doing not what you're not supposed to do, but anyway, but let's get into this.
[SPEAKER_00]: The minitars though are real and modern, however, whatever the origin they are real. [SPEAKER_00]: And I've said it before, I actually prefer a codex lore. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I like Black Library books, but they are a bit more hit and mess unfortunately. [SPEAKER_00]: The codex is hit pretty hard.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the one, the codex is that hit harder than anything are the forge world codex's. [SPEAKER_00]: I will admit, but grudgingly, begrudgingly that every now and then, the forge world models had rules that were a little bit over the top. [SPEAKER_00]: Just a little bit, just a wee, t-t-t-t-t bit over the top.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Leviathan dread not may have, perhaps, possibly, been a little bit opaque, say with a dime I care on, it's possible. [SPEAKER_00]: I could admit that maybe it was a little bit unfair. [SPEAKER_00]: But the law in these books is incredible. [SPEAKER_00]: And the first one we'll start with is Imperial Armor Volume 10.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, you guys can download all these books. [SPEAKER_00]: They're all available on PDF. [SPEAKER_00]: Good luck. [SPEAKER_00]: So during our coverage of the Imperial Guard, we talked about Lord Solar McCarrion. [SPEAKER_00]: He is perhaps, but not just perhaps, he is the greatest Imperial Guard leader ever.
[SPEAKER_00]: History of the Period. [SPEAKER_00]: full stop, okay? [SPEAKER_00]: He was born in segment and pacificus, and he was a living saint of the Imperium. [SPEAKER_00]: Under his command, a thousand worlds joined the Imperium in seven years. [SPEAKER_00]: Gilman is trying to do a fraction of that right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: He is incredible, but he was a boss. [SPEAKER_00]: like for sure. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, McCarrie is incredible. [SPEAKER_00]: That's problem with him though, he was a cult of personality, and he died a really tragic death. [SPEAKER_00]: He actually contracted a knurgle rot that took him, and by took him, I mean, an imperial assassin killed him so that his legacy didn't get destroyed.
[SPEAKER_00]: The issue though is the world he brought into compliance didn't join the Imperium because he really sold them and how great the Imperium was. [SPEAKER_00]: They were like, yeah, this dude's awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: So whatever he does, let's just hang out with him. [SPEAKER_00]: And then he died and they went, oh screw this place, because they're a few idiots.
[SPEAKER_00]: That dude was cool and he's gone. [SPEAKER_00]: So peace out, bye. [SPEAKER_00]: The problem with that piece out by is the Imperium calls that rebellion and the region of space to segment to pacificus is really rich and really wealthy and the lords of terror weren't really keen to lose it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's one thing when like you conquer parts of the ghoul stars and then they lose them. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, ah, screw it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, the juice ain't worth the squeeze, but this spot, they're like, no, we're keeping this. [SPEAKER_00]: And so in the rebellion, these imperial worlds also basically gave the middle finger to the imperial Senate.
[SPEAKER_00]: Saying to them, we liked McCarrion. [SPEAKER_00]: He was a hero. [SPEAKER_00]: You guys are just punks. [SPEAKER_00]: So [SPEAKER_00]: because there's pencil-pushing benches actually, but I think they did call them. [SPEAKER_00]: And so the lords of terror, did what any spoiled brat would do when someone mocks them, have someone else go beat them up for them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and this is, that's what they did. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like, oh, how dare you persemerge my honor. [SPEAKER_00]: Tim go punch him. [SPEAKER_00]: What is it in traffic thunder? [SPEAKER_00]: The key grip. [SPEAKER_00]: You're being the face part of them. [SPEAKER_00]: And so this is the first recorded interaction with a galaxy the entire minitars chapter Make a name for themselves.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're not a game. [SPEAKER_00]: Really in a great way. [SPEAKER_01]: They're also just not a chapter. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the minutes ours are legion because they also come with there's way more than a thousand of them for one. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, well, there isn't they don't they never call out that there's more than a thousand.
[SPEAKER_00]: They just hint Yeah, because what they say is what cover it later, they tend to like refill very quick. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like real quickly also. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they show up with a lot of [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and we'll get more into kind of some of their technology in the way they move later.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the main thing there's an out there right now is they act with brutality and cultness. [SPEAKER_00]: The ones who showed up here were not the cursed founding miniatars by any means. [SPEAKER_00]: They were strategic. [SPEAKER_00]: Tactical plans. [SPEAKER_00]: They were trapping enemies, layered assaults, faints, etc.
[SPEAKER_00]: but the brutality of that cursed founding did come through. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because one of their favorite tactics was using civilians to catch people in their plans. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, no, no amount of random citizens was too much. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, we killed two other Marines. [SPEAKER_01]: Cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, you killed so many civilians. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but we killed those two of them. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they'll be got them. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And when they attack, I mean, are they descending on a world or ship to ship combat? [SPEAKER_00]: They don't really take prisoners.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they fight with no regard for civilian casualties. [SPEAKER_00]: Dude, we'll call it from more than that. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the answer. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that's one of their defining characteristics, though. [SPEAKER_01]: Come on. [SPEAKER_00]: They love fight Marines. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Love fighting Marines. [SPEAKER_00]: Much like it's the same way I play the table top where weapons are geared towards fighting Marines every single weapon in the menotars arsenal is damaged too. [SPEAKER_01]: They are just marvellous and I think this is another thing about how they were created and how they were raised kind of thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think they were always indoctrinal. [SPEAKER_00]: They were made for this. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: They were made to comers. [SPEAKER_00]: So during the Macarion Heresy something known as the Eucene incident takes place, which [SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of sets up the miniaturists for not being popular.
[SPEAKER_00]: So during the Macaring Heresy, there's two loyalist chapters, find themselves at odds with each other. [SPEAKER_00]: There's an ultramarine successor called the Inceptors and the Doom Warriors who are of an unknown founding. [SPEAKER_00]: They got into a tiff. [SPEAKER_00]: There's no record of what caused the issue, but it was an honor conflict between the two.
[SPEAKER_00]: And these were loyalists chapters, by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: These were not, you know, these were really, heretics or any of those things. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is two space marine chapters basically focused on fighting each other, not to campaign against the rebellion. [SPEAKER_00]: And so the lords of Terra send the meditars to do it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And these guys, by the way, are they're not even fighting? [SPEAKER_00]: They're having the weird engagements where they're they're having a standoff really. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, firing each other a little bit, but doing this. [SPEAKER_00]: So the meditars look at the situation of two of us start his chapters fighting each other.
[SPEAKER_00]: and just decide, screw it. [SPEAKER_00]: This is a useless distraction and they attack both of them at full force. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying, yeah, full on. [SPEAKER_00]: There's full attack, translate into it in at full weapons blaze. [SPEAKER_00]: The doom warriors go by and just they're able to escape, but the insceptors were trapped.
[SPEAKER_00]: The minitars hunt them down and kill them down to less than 100 remain. [SPEAKER_00]: until they accept their surrender, and the Minitars then insult the injury, take all of their chapter relics and their ships as war spoils and send them back to Ultramar. [SPEAKER_00]: like to talk about Jackie shit, here's your stuff, be better.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then they send them back to Ultramar and the Ultramar and all the successors have vowed revenge on the Minotars to this day, which is interesting. [SPEAKER_00]: We'll get to it later because Gilman is now technically in charge of the [SPEAKER_00]: Now, they eventually win the McCarrant-Harracy Minotaur is disappearing again for a bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: The next appearance is segmentum solar. [SPEAKER_00]: This time is on high world hermedica. [SPEAKER_00]: her medical is having a bad day, her medical is just having a regular regular old day, chilling, making stuff for the Imperium, when a space hook up here is an orbit. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is basically all of Armageddon.
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, I just want to say nothing good. [SPEAKER_01]: No one's ever been. [SPEAKER_01]: a spacial compared and then good stuff happened because spacials are always chock full of awful every single time and this was going to be no different because yes it's full of word bears [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and word bears are never going to make sure because word bears always bring all the cultists and so they poured out out of the planet and the defenders did what they code, but they got overrun pretty quickly and they did what they could they hunker down and they call for support and it's a good news bad news of what happens next.
[SPEAKER_00]: The minitars show up because the good news is so soon where is the good news, John? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, the minitars do show up the thing with the minitars is they are a fleet base chapter. [SPEAKER_00]: And when they show up, they show up as an entirety. [SPEAKER_00]: So when space rings deploy, they deploy in companies.
[SPEAKER_00]: We always talk about this first company, second company. [SPEAKER_00]: On occasion, they might throw a couple of companies. [SPEAKER_00]: And then, first, they'll do that. [SPEAKER_00]: They come as one, which is imagine the entirety of the old trimmerings, or Melissa Salomon who's a tiny swimmer care about them.
[SPEAKER_00]: But like the entirety of the space wolves, showing up at once. [SPEAKER_00]: That's going to bring a weapon. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the only way the men at Tarism. [SPEAKER_00]: Actually, I believe the car carried on's made to the same thing. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the only way that they move.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, again, I still don't think there's any good news. [SPEAKER_01]: You should have said the bad news and the bad news, because the men that start to show up and to the credit, the men that are as bad as. [SPEAKER_01]: They start wrecking. [SPEAKER_00]: This is my point.
[SPEAKER_00]: The first part of the show up was pretty cool. [SPEAKER_00]: They show up in orbit and just destroy everything in orbit immediately. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh, cool. [SPEAKER_00]: The word bears were up here. [SPEAKER_00]: No, you're not. [SPEAKER_00]: Having an orbit die. [SPEAKER_00]: So hooray.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And the second part went a little bit worse because they come down and start fighting the ground forces, but also just go, hey, man, there's a bunker over there. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's just blow it up. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it's next to a bunch of civilians. [SPEAKER_01]: Good to hear.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just kept blowing stuff up and cutting people down. [SPEAKER_01]: It was like they were trying to get maximum cladder on the edge. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because the chaos forces are like not even that close to the sheltering civilians. [SPEAKER_00]: They were like, [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want them running away, it's just a boom, I just over and over again.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the mentors are just wrecking shop. [SPEAKER_00]: But they are by killing all the chaos forces, but the best parts, it doesn't even even die yet. [SPEAKER_00]: So the main complex of hive hermatica is a giant cathedral to say less shore, less shore, less shore, I don't care. [SPEAKER_00]: The anchor rights, I don't care because we don't know, there's no record of whose person is, so I don't care.
[SPEAKER_00]: And honestly, you know, who cares less than me? [SPEAKER_00]: The minute it talks because they're on meat. [SPEAKER_00]: And so the chaos moved into the cathedral because it's a super defensible position. [SPEAKER_00]: And the matter is when, all right, Thunderhawks and just start to bombard him.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's actually something that's said when you're reading your body is, they moved in there because they didn't think they would want to destroy a holy cathedral and wreck it. [SPEAKER_01]: So they would be easy early to defend because they'd have to funnel them in. [SPEAKER_01]: And the minutes I just went, I give zero.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're blowing it up and then we get to our first instance of the chapter master of the [SPEAKER_00]: Asterian Molok. [SPEAKER_00]: Who is quite a treat? [SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back after a quick break. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm going to tell you this. [SPEAKER_00]: When the GW wrote this, I am a hundred percent that someone at GW has a degree in religious studies, because this is one of the best naming mechanics I've ever seen.
[SPEAKER_00]: Zeus' son is King Minos. [SPEAKER_00]: Minos is a sterion. [SPEAKER_00]: There we go. [SPEAKER_00]: So the first name is king minus a sterion. [SPEAKER_00]: So his first name is a sterion. [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, the minitar was his son. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, half son long story short if Poseidon once a bull Don't try to pull a little switch a room on him.
[SPEAKER_00]: He'll get mad. [SPEAKER_00]: Secondly, I don't really understand why when you breed a herbivore with an omnivore, you get a giant bipedal man-eating carnivore thing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's really good. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if you're going to go spulunking, always bring some strength. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, the more interesting one is his second name, Mohlok.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this one, I like a lot, because I also have a degree in this stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Mohlok was for many, many years, was thought to be one of the keen and night gods from the Hebrew Bible, although we think now it might be something different. [SPEAKER_00]: But Molox, name appears in Leviticus, it's been around for a while.
[SPEAKER_00]: Molox was a god that was actually children were sacrificed to, but was depicted as having a bullheaded human that its sacrifices were given to. [SPEAKER_00]: So GW went, [SPEAKER_00]: Damn, on this naming mechanic, where they were like, all right, let's take the two references that exist of bull-headed human and go and just give them both of those, which is significantly better than a lot of the other times they've named people, like the Iron Hands.
[SPEAKER_00]: Or Let it go. [SPEAKER_00]: Salamanders. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway. [SPEAKER_00]: So a starry and molock is a nightmare, by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: He is effectively a, yeah, he's a mix of abadon, iron, father, ferros, and small primar. [SPEAKER_00]: He's just a beast. [SPEAKER_01]: He's also standing half, he's half man half.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, maybe. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's the problem with him. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's like he's massively don't with cybernetics. [SPEAKER_00]: He's pushing primarxized. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not tyboros big, but you know, he's big. [SPEAKER_00]: He's really big. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's mean.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, what's interesting about him is that he also is really ruthless and combat. [SPEAKER_00]: He loves [SPEAKER_00]: fighting at the front. [SPEAKER_00]: He leads from the front and he loves taking on like almost a perverse joy in one-on-one combat, which he always wins and not dread pirate robert sense where it's, I have best of you and I believe you be.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now he just slaughteres everybody and moves on with this day. [SPEAKER_00]: He is brutal. [SPEAKER_00]: Yet, or not even, I guess I should probably be more talking about what's the [SPEAKER_00]: That's sort of an allusious, because allusious will play with you. [SPEAKER_00]: Mollock does not, Mollock does not, he just has to get out and move on.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Mollock is more a car in that regard. [SPEAKER_00]: He is unpleasant. [SPEAKER_00]: So obviously because they move as one, anywhere the minitars are, Mollock goes. [SPEAKER_00]: But whenever he appears in the battlefield, things get a lot worse for everybody. [SPEAKER_00]: And on her magic, this is what happens.
[SPEAKER_00]: Molock and his terminators, because he's in terminated our teleport down to the surface and go door to door looking for chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, some doors had civilians behind them. [SPEAKER_00]: civilians who weighed less than a door. [SPEAKER_00]: And didn't do well when said door exploded.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sayobao, she fired crannies into it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: By the time they finished the chaos forces were completely routed, all every leader had been destroyed. [SPEAKER_00]: Although I think actually the source or may have fled before Mola could kill him. [SPEAKER_00]: What I did like is that the [SPEAKER_00]: Senatorum got a ton of complaints about the Minotaur's actions and they were like which weirdly fell in death years because it was like hey you guys sent them here and they just wrecked everything and I really go yeah anyway.
[SPEAKER_00]: But again, Matt talked to Superior for a bit and the next time they appear and we covered this before is but that [SPEAKER_00]: So we covered the down before, but I want to talk a little bit more about the minitars and the lmentors. [SPEAKER_00]: Just keep a bit about the minitars style.
[SPEAKER_00]: In the Badab Wars, we had an authority civil war. [SPEAKER_00]: The lords of terror didn't like this for a lot of obvious reasons. [SPEAKER_00]: They'd already seen three chapters declared loyalty to their renegade astral clause. [SPEAKER_00]: So they're getting nervous about other space marines being sent out there and doing the same.
[SPEAKER_00]: So to kind of protect their assets, they set the minitars to the region, you know, to candle it. [SPEAKER_00]: follow side note, it's actually written in the book. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the brutality and violence of the minitars was considered like a trotace, until the car carries on. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm so proud of you.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so proud of you. [SPEAKER_00]: And everyone's like, oh my god. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and they were like, what is wrong with those guys? [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, no. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, as Brad mentioned earlier, the miniatars are especially adept at fighting a start-as, and so they loved this deployment.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go and we're going to fight space marines. [SPEAKER_00]: Because their basic number one function behind the scenes is the hunt down Renegade chapters. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, [SPEAKER_01]: We're here, quote. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just what I'm saying. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to hear your quote.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty wide in your head to find out what that is. [SPEAKER_00]: During the bedabours, the lamenters who were a blood angel's successor had an oath to the Astral Clause. [SPEAKER_00]: So they fought with them. [SPEAKER_00]: but they are cornered by the minitars. [SPEAKER_00]: The minitars track down their fortress monastery.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the launch is kind of light attack into the fortress monastery, knowing it would draw all the lamenters in, which it did. [SPEAKER_00]: Once they all appeared, the full minitars fleet translated in, and this incredible space battle began, all boarding actions, it was over before it began.
[SPEAKER_00]: the numerically superior miniatars we're going to win not to match the fact that numer- miniatars are physically superior to the mentors. [SPEAKER_00]: They're a bigger, longer force. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're also bigger people. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like you're fighting, they had, and they have better equipment.
[SPEAKER_00]: it's just it was never going to go well and it didn't. [SPEAKER_00]: So in the end, and there's conflicting stories on this, some have it at 300, some of it as low as 100 lamenters survived. [SPEAKER_00]: But either way, the chapter was all but destroyed. [SPEAKER_00]: However, though, they did, side note, go on a pantant crusade, which they have succeeded and come out the other side of, which made the blood angels really happy, because the lamenters are seem to be immune to the black rage and the [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's all it takes, it's just be sad.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, we've talked with the miniaturists being the bad guys, that's not always the case. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes they are the heroes, though they will come to the aid of other chapters and imperial forces that are overrun, like on Rinsworld, because the Crimson Fist can't aim a rocket up.
[SPEAKER_01]: I love that you'd just choose that part, because Brad is running Rinsworld for a depth of kind to you turn in it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, is there a rocket facing the wrong way? [SPEAKER_00]: Look, man, you're sent here. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, don't worry about it. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll be honest, you know, building the display board, I'll ask Alan.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you're the wrong one to ask that question, too. [SPEAKER_00]: The truth is, after almost losing a critical world for the Imperium, the fist sent out a request for aid, because this was a massive orkwa, and the call was answered by quite the collection of chapters by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: You have the imperial fists, makes sense, they were successor, the white scars, I know I do who that is.
[SPEAKER_00]: the White Panthers, who actually have a super cool blackback, so I looked this up. [SPEAKER_00]: The White Panthers only exist, because in 1994, GW hosted a design at Chapter Competition and some dude wrote a really good story, and this is back when GW had their own painters called Evie Metal, and they painted their technical squad, and that's where the White Panthers came from.
[SPEAKER_00]: I will say, as an American, not a great name, which could say that. [SPEAKER_00]: But then they're worth his thing. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying, like, hey, so worth the white Panthers, I need to ask some follow-up questions. [SPEAKER_00]: That's all. [SPEAKER_00]: Then you have the storm lords, I'm pretty sure an early age of Sigma.
[SPEAKER_00]: the angels in carmine who are just a weirdo chapters of the blood angels and the blood drinkers who they're mine even weirder chapter of the blood angels and then the minitars. [SPEAKER_00]: So by the way, they all get together and they kind of ate him their way to victory and kill the orcs.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's good book by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: Read it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, dude, it's a very good book, but just call it, they also come to the fans of a major guard recruitment world called The Bifrost, because some jeans to their cult had infiltrated it, and those were a belly and loads of teller were like, yeah, no, the meditars did that save the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: And after it, this one's a weird one because they saved the planet from a jeans to their cult uprising, and they let the planet keep making guard regiments, which I'm always like, [SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, those are the happy stories. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's get back to the monetars being mods.
[SPEAKER_00]: Be careful. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh God, because the night Reaper stories freaking awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, this is great. [SPEAKER_00]: Imperial armor book 13, because I'm sure I call them out when I can. [SPEAKER_00]: The night Reapers are a loyalist chapter of unknown lineage, and it's unknown because it's been fully redacted, because they don't exist anymore.
[SPEAKER_00]: spoiler alert, I don't know, they're out in segment and pacificus to deal with a rebellion there from a renegade space marine chapter called the sons of Gilman. [SPEAKER_00]: They've fallen to chaos and they've been getting joined by a bunch of chaos war bands. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll be honest it's [SPEAKER_00]: Basically, the same story is the bedabore.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's almost no difference when you read it like, okay, so it's just here on black heart, but less piracy, kind of. [SPEAKER_00]: What ever, still cool story, the night reproduced in photographs. [SPEAKER_00]: They're actually out there defending the shrine world of salvation gamma. [SPEAKER_00]: and the scanners worked bread for once.
[SPEAKER_00]: The scanners were working. [SPEAKER_00]: And what? [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_00]: And on the scanners, they see like the entirety of the chaos force coming there. [SPEAKER_00]: And there's just no way they're going to be able to stop this. [SPEAKER_00]: Not only are they going to lose, but the world's going to fall.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they know what chaos forces would do to a shrine world. [SPEAKER_00]: So they decide the best thing to do is give the population a merciful end, and they exterminate us the planet, which actually is like, it's kind of noble. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Look, you guys are going to get home.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, if you can't, it's your options are we cannot evacuate you. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, actually, they probably could. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a classic way to handle or fade and call for reinforcements. [SPEAKER_00]: There's so many other options. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, they decided they couldn't do that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they decided what if we just blow them up from orbit. [SPEAKER_00]: They'll die in a second versus chaos gets there. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, for this is what they went with. [SPEAKER_00]: Fed them. [SPEAKER_00]: Fine. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, anyway, the Ecclesiarchy agrees with Brad, which is how I know we all know Brad's wrong.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Ecclesiarchy lose their minds about this, and the, especially about the Starty's chapter, blowing up a shrine world. [SPEAKER_00]: And they want to label them heretics and all this stuff, but the problem is that it's actually not heresy what they did. [SPEAKER_00]: They just save the book, they really save a population.
[SPEAKER_00]: They spared a population from chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: And so what they decided to do was banish them to the fringe of the galaxy, which is like on, effectively an unlimited pant and crusade, which is a death sentence on its own, but at least we don't lose a space-marriage app or because they are pretty valuable.
[SPEAKER_01]: After less than decade-old people were there, but continued, they basically got called in to do a whole bunch of stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: They were big aircrotes banished. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no they weren't what happens next is so they're out there for a while less than a decade and this area is called the Lana rift a rogue trader fleet is out there exploring and just gets destroyed and all it says is a pun investigation it's my guess is just like there was video that got sent back the night reposted it yeah [SPEAKER_00]: And at this point, now you are a trader, something's up.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the inquisition is really concerned about this. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't want to send anything out there. [SPEAKER_00]: Their viewpoint is, hey, something's off about this situation. [SPEAKER_00]: So they send the Minotars and the Red Templars, which is the inquisition space marine group.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, you guys go deal with this. [SPEAKER_00]: They get out there, and remember, the minitars are a incredibly large and powerful fleet. [SPEAKER_00]: They arrive, ready to just kick ass and take names, and start losing, but having a problem out the gate. [SPEAKER_02]: It was a great change.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Because the Knight Reapers have alien weaponry and all their ships, and it's bad. [SPEAKER_00]: It takes them three years of conflict and battle until they finally figure out what's going on. [SPEAKER_00]: They find the home base of the nightraper's, which is this giant alien construct in the middle.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a space home, I guess, sort of. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what it is? [SPEAKER_01]: It's the star-forged from coder. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'd say our public one. [SPEAKER_00]: No, you're right. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And the negatives are excavating this thing for technology.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the ensuing battle is about to begin and they've brought it at this point in period reinforcements that kind of wage this battle. [SPEAKER_00]: And just as they're about to go after the Star Forge, the Grey Knights show up. [SPEAKER_00]: And the Grey Knights go, everyone leave except the Minotars.
[SPEAKER_00]: And all in Bureau of Forces go, well, because again, you mean, I want to see the gray nights, can you know what happens if you see the gray nights that I was like, yeah, I don't know nothing to do with this situation. [SPEAKER_00]: This only ends bad for me. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm happy to leave.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the gray nights and the miniatars attack the alien vessel and the night repers together. [SPEAKER_00]: during the conflict, the alien vessel explodes. [SPEAKER_00]: So they actually get on to this vessel, by the way, and killing the entire gray night force that's inside of it. [SPEAKER_00]: And almost all the men at ours.
[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody in the military's. [SPEAKER_00]: Except of note, Asterion Molock was on that ship when it blew up. [SPEAKER_00]: He survives, or does he? [SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk about that in a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: So I just love that story because it was like, nope, no one is trusted just you guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, every great night died blowing this thing up. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's quite possible it might have had a teensy little bit of chaos going floating through it. [SPEAKER_00]: Now the next one, for my Tars, is actually not as impressive a story for them. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just more of a story.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is when they fight the Necrons. [SPEAKER_00]: Segmentum tempestus, so the aft part of the galaxy. [SPEAKER_00]: This is down in the Orhyan sector. [SPEAKER_00]: out of nowhere, the Nikron's attack. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is the attack is so sudden and brutal that it actually resembles a tyrannid invasion, because world after world just goes dark.
[SPEAKER_00]: And what's makes this complicated is this isn't the early days of the Nikron awakening, so the impereing doesn't know very much about them. [SPEAKER_00]: And by the impereing, I mean, the ad-mec knows a ton about them, didn't tell anyone. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd say, and this is a death was. [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the Inquisition, but no one else does. [SPEAKER_01]: I, you, I love these things and I was like, just gonna jump all over this because you're like, yeah, nobody knows about them. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, except for these guys, and these guys, and these guys, so many people knew. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what?
[SPEAKER_00]: So what's ends up being really funny about this though? [SPEAKER_00]: The story that part of the story that's awesome is, [SPEAKER_00]: after taking a bunch of worlds, the necrons just stop attacking and see him apparently just scramble it like all right, where's the attack coming from?
[SPEAKER_00]: They're looking around trying to figure out where the next punch is coming from and because they're assuming it's demonic in nature, they the way this is happening. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just it's too weird and they don't know what necron is. [SPEAKER_00]: And then this massive pulse blows through the whole area and this pulse burns out astronauts.
[SPEAKER_00]: But in the pulse as a message and the message is maynark comes, maynark comes because it's the maynark dynasty. [SPEAKER_00]: And maynark does show up after that. [SPEAKER_00]: And they hit hard. [SPEAKER_00]: Entire worlds turn to ash almost in instant. [SPEAKER_00]: Anything less than a full regiment of guard falls immediately.
[SPEAKER_00]: but the advanced eventually stalls on the world of Amara, because on Amara, there are millions of creaks. [SPEAKER_00]: And creaks, they do what does, which is I have a shovel, I don't care. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I love the fact that they're like, [SPEAKER_01]: They're putting everybody in wood chippers.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but if we put everybody in the wood chippers, yes, we'll stall them up and they won't be able to run. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: It's basically, you know, it's bad for a wood chipper, a big metal shovel and so on. [SPEAKER_00]: No, the crack million metal shoves. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we've got this.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the creek start just slowing the neck ronds down, which is enough time. [SPEAKER_00]: for the Minotars to arrive in orbit. [SPEAKER_00]: And at this point, the Imperial Navy has been trying to fight the Necrons in orbit, not well. [SPEAKER_00]: They're getting their bots handed. [SPEAKER_00]: The Minotars show up and they do have more powerful ships and more aggressive tactics.
[SPEAKER_00]: chapter master mollock is there and he goes prison rules when he arrives. [SPEAKER_00]: He looks around picks up the biggest necrons ship and decides to go punch it in the face. [SPEAKER_00]: He did board a gaction. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, punch it in the face. [SPEAKER_00]: They straight up ran this thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Get as close to can. [SPEAKER_00]: bunch of minitars go in, but this is also awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: He's a bunch of dreadnotes inside his ship. [SPEAKER_01]: Who boards his ship with a dreadnotes? [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not one. [SPEAKER_00]: A bunch of dreadnotes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's even more like to the boring torpedoes hit the neckline ship, which they're also shooting at while they're doing the boring torpedoes because the minitars are psychopaths. [SPEAKER_00]: Then once inside, they basically [SPEAKER_00]: hit the button, Molok and Dreadnots appear inside the ship and go, let's party.
[SPEAKER_00]: Molok fights his way to the bridge where him and the overlord meet each other. [SPEAKER_00]: He jams his spear, which is 100% a dark age of technology spear, 1000%. [SPEAKER_00]: Into the overlord, as the ship breaks apart, they both get sucked into space. [SPEAKER_00]: As that happens, by the way, the minute-to-tars rammy ship into this thing, which is just enough for the Necrons to go.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, message received and they bail. [SPEAKER_00]: So weird, man. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like, get it. [SPEAKER_00]: But when I love that after all of that, this whole system is pretty beat up. [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, chaos shows up as it's going, look cool. [SPEAKER_00]: This whole place is beat to hell.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's start building cults. [SPEAKER_00]: So the Lord's of terror go to the miniatars and go, uh, yeah, thanks for saving it. [SPEAKER_00]: Can you exterminate artists it now? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and the guitars are like everyone. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Got it. [SPEAKER_00]: Because that's just what they do.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so right there, I want to talk a bit more about the Minotars themselves for we get to the end of the cast. [SPEAKER_00]: And namely, Jean-Seed recruitment and equipment. [SPEAKER_00]: The Jean-Seed's really quick. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just chimeric. [SPEAKER_00]: We don't. [SPEAKER_00]: It's made up of a jumble of chapters like John Vajus, which is John Vajus still around.
[SPEAKER_00]: I should not know. [SPEAKER_00]: I always thought it was gross, but is it still around? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: Either way, you're blending up a bunch of stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so the fine, they're the John Budgeus chapter. [SPEAKER_00]: There we go.
[SPEAKER_00]: The cooler part though is recruitment and equipment. [SPEAKER_00]: So their equipment is nuts. [SPEAKER_00]: And this comes in a few different forms. [SPEAKER_00]: First off, they've stolen a ton of relics. [SPEAKER_00]: Every time they get sent out to go put down a heavy air quotes, Renegade chapter, which is basically just somebody the learns of terror don't like or don't want around, but continue.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they then kill them all, but the chapter was renegade. [SPEAKER_00]: Their equipment isn't, so they just keep it all as spoils of war. [SPEAKER_00]: So this chapter has more like relic weaponry and war gear, like basically right now we don't pay for work at a tabletop, but man these guys would have been OP and eighth edition.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and there's ships too, like their ships have like cannons and lances that are just a rival the ad mech. [SPEAKER_00]: So when they go to war, they bring the wap. [SPEAKER_00]: At the same time though, just their regular weapon reads better, like they've got volkite, they've got lances, all that's just commonplace, where most of the stories might have one volkite pistol, [SPEAKER_00]: you have a whole squad I know you did I did but in the lord be like oh yeah the entire first company of the ultramarines have one volkai pistol and like the you know mentors are playing a juggling with them the levels are different temperature dreadnoughts they have so many old [SPEAKER_00]: Well, the contemptors, the craziest thing, because in the Orphan war, they had at least ten contemptors in the field.
[SPEAKER_00]: The contemptor dreadnought has been out of production since the horrors heresy. [SPEAKER_00]: The admit cannot make them anymore. [SPEAKER_00]: So that means, first of them is they stole all these. [SPEAKER_00]: Step one, all of these are stolen. [SPEAKER_00]: They're all maintained. [SPEAKER_00]: Most chapters don't even have one of these.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know, again, tabletop versus lore. [SPEAKER_00]: The Minotars [SPEAKER_00]: This is incredible to have them but what's crazier about them is that usually when something when someone's in tuned in a dread not They're treated with incredible respect like oh, this is an elder of our chapter I can't you know we should bow down to them in the manatares basically look at you got like oh [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, the terms of him's yeah, and it's like they're actually almost second-class Minotars because I think it's because they viewed as oh, he fell in battle.
[SPEAKER_00]: He should have been better at it. [SPEAKER_00]: And this may have to do with the other thing I want to talk about, which is their recruitment, which is psychotic. [SPEAKER_00]: It's one thing, it's a weird thing. [SPEAKER_00]: We're not supposed to know anything about this, but we somehow do know a lot about it because GW writing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Minotars are a fleet-based chapter. [SPEAKER_00]: So they get recruits on the move. [SPEAKER_00]: We don't know if it's volunteers, like imperial fists, are volunteered, like car carodoms. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's the latter. [SPEAKER_00]: Most likely, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: They do all the regular stuff, but they whackly indoctrinate them.
[SPEAKER_01]: I forced open, you have to watch the video, and for, you know, $100, it's crazy what they can do. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, they also talk about they indoctrinated them both with, and I don't know exactly how this works. [SPEAKER_00]: Genetically, I don't know how they were. [SPEAKER_00]: The psychological indoctrination.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I've seen, uh, what is that Kubrick film? [SPEAKER_00]: Whatever it's called, the Kubrick film. [SPEAKER_00]: People, everyone knows what I'm talking about. [SPEAKER_00]: I've seen that, but I don't know how you genetically indoctrinated someone. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, but what happens is every Minotaur is lock step in the chapter.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so once they get in, they also are able to then progress a lot faster. [SPEAKER_00]: Whatever this method of indoctrination is, they don't have as high of a casual T-rate going through the GNC to implantation, [SPEAKER_01]: You know, you know, you were talking about Clockwork Orange, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Clockwork Orange, yeah, clockwork Orange. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I could remember Kubrick. [SPEAKER_00]: I could remember that the image. [SPEAKER_00]: I just couldn't remember the name. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, you're good. [SPEAKER_01]: So it was just sticking with me.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, wait a minute. [SPEAKER_01]: What was actually talking about? [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, so what's crazy about the minitars though, is that with this indoctrination system that they use, they actually are able to replenish fast with anybody else. [SPEAKER_00]: They talk about this a lot where, because they do, they fight rough.
[SPEAKER_00]: They are not fighting from the back being cautious. [SPEAKER_00]: They go full bore, because they're always able to use their gene seed and their special tricks to replenish as fast as they can. [SPEAKER_01]: Is this the next chapter you think is cloning? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the hard thing about them.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's real. [SPEAKER_00]: It's possible because you're not supposed to clone by, you guys, they totally would. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't can. [SPEAKER_01]: They've been used. [SPEAKER_01]: They're using a shit ton of forbid and everything. [SPEAKER_00]: And they do take wild losses and then are instantaneously back at the fact that that would make sense for this last little bit too though because of the deathguard situation because the deathguard in the tentative codex decided to stick it to the menotars and they somehow attacked their fortress monastery and dropped the nirgot plague into it and the nirgot plague infected all of the genes seen in the monastery basically making it barren because they
[SPEAKER_00]: and then the minitars had to flee the deathguard because they were had to rush back to terror where the healthy gene C was while being whittled away by the deathguard the whole way through. [SPEAKER_00]: So good on your deathguard, bye! [SPEAKER_00]: let's talk about a very fun story. [SPEAKER_00]: The heck'sarky, you like, this works really well with our cast last week.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's why I'm excited for this. [SPEAKER_01]: You like it a ton because G-man gets to stake it to everybody. [SPEAKER_01]: Great. [SPEAKER_01]: I like it because the Lord's of Tara get kicked in the face, so. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so this one's hilarious, so the most recent actions of the Manitars actually involve Gilliman sort of.
[SPEAKER_00]: So last week we talked about Hellabord's of terror really love giving up power. [SPEAKER_00]: So in Gilliman returns, he was not really popular with them. [SPEAKER_00]: and a bunch of decided while he was off-terror to try and take the power back and I really do foresee this whole thing as a much of pre-teens blasting like raging as the machine to build up the courage like only to lose so badly she should clap right in the face.
[SPEAKER_00]: So their plan was to undo all the changes Gilliman made, just the one that took their power away, and like vote Gilliman off the island. [SPEAKER_00]: Just kind of what they did. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what they were going for. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so voting amongst themselves. [SPEAKER_01]: Like they had, they were in the basement going, yay, let's do a vote.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do we all vote that were awesome? [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, cool. [SPEAKER_00]: great and but what they did before they did though they called the miniatars back to stay next them because they knew we're going out some problems by the way the miniatars they're good they were going to send against the entirety of the impairment this was never going to work but anyway what's funny though is this entirely predictable thing happened and it's not but maybe some of your thinking but you should all be thinking [SPEAKER_00]: The lords of terror who took part in the Hacksarchy, which they called it because there were six of them, Hacks, okay, made a colossal error.
[SPEAKER_00]: They did what they always do. [SPEAKER_00]: They kept thinking in their largest danger where the authorities, because they're going to attack us in the front, they're going to kill them all, and they're going to re-structure terror again. [SPEAKER_00]: And they forgot the real number one threat to the lords of terror has been and forever will be the Assassin's Guild.
[SPEAKER_00]: it is just throughout history that one. [SPEAKER_00]: And they forgot that because the head of the Assassin's Guild was part of the hexarchy, except of course he wasn't. [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously he's a double agent, because by the way, that's what the head of the Assassin's Guild has also done every single time.
[SPEAKER_00]: See, you can't find them. [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: And the minitars arrive. [SPEAKER_00]: The minitars arrive seeing all the lords of terror dead. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, the ones who called them. [SPEAKER_00]: And they actually get ready to attack. [SPEAKER_00]: And they're [SPEAKER_00]: What's the space where you're there?
[SPEAKER_00]: And more importantly, Trasian and the custodes, along with what just stitches the battle. [SPEAKER_00]: And what I like about this is that all that's written is before the battle can begin, the head of the administrative walks over to ask to run MoLock and whispers something in his ear and MoLock stands up because they'll be hit to lean down because it's in the human.
[SPEAKER_00]: And just goes, all right, we're out. [SPEAKER_01]: But even that, he's not only just this guy, but he joins the endominus crusade. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: So we don't know what was said, but he does that. [SPEAKER_00]: Last little bit I want to talk about is Molock. [SPEAKER_00]: Molock is complicated because he has cheated death too many times.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, he has been, he's been blown up. [SPEAKER_00]: He's been stabbed. [SPEAKER_00]: He's been stabbed. [SPEAKER_00]: I find he's not Vulcan. [SPEAKER_00]: I understand where you're going. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but I'm new to the, what I'm saying is, no, he's not. [SPEAKER_01]: He's double of 70s, dreadpired Roberts.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a different diet each time in my opinion. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so that, that, this becomes the question. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the more question on an is it, are we doing dread pirate robber? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm 007's lame to dread pirate robber, it's much better movie. [SPEAKER_00]: But are we, have there been numerous mollocks over the years?
[SPEAKER_00]: Or is he a perpetual? [SPEAKER_00]: And the only reason I could see being a perpetual is if this is a kind, my argument for this, it's a chimeric chapter. [SPEAKER_00]: If they were crafting a chapter, [SPEAKER_00]: why wouldn't they have made the chapter master a perpetual sure but he's he's juiced up with so much augmentations i just think they choose a new guy put a bunch of stuff in him yeah but but they make my perpetual he never loses memories which also does help that's the promising if it's a new guy goes in then you have to it just gets complicated i just so that's it's from the stories he's just been in places where like he's just gone on [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is more for the discord.
[SPEAKER_00]: Guys come to the discord and have comments about this, but I do anyone who's read a lot about Molok. [SPEAKER_00]: That's my theory. [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a perpetual. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think he was crafted and they had to give them a super power chapter master. [SPEAKER_00]: So why not make my perpetual?
[SPEAKER_00]: That way he can kind of do whatever and he'll always keep coming back. [SPEAKER_00]: So, bye! [SPEAKER_00]: With that, that's the minutes, guys. [SPEAKER_00]: Pretty interesting. [SPEAKER_00]: They're going to pop up here in the air as we cover more stuff, because they do appear in really a lot of the lore from the 41st millennia on.
[SPEAKER_00]: But next week, we're going to go from one fan request to another. [SPEAKER_00]: And you probably should be two weeks. [SPEAKER_00]: Creek. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to finally go back to death corpse of Creek. [SPEAKER_00]: We touched on them when we did our pure guard episodes, but I was told it wasn't enough.
[SPEAKER_01]: And people are correct. [SPEAKER_01]: Death core. [SPEAKER_00]: The fine death core isn't how it around, okay? [SPEAKER_00]: next week. [SPEAKER_00]: So, flex two weeks. [SPEAKER_00]: You're going to hear me wax poetically about my love of creek shovels of creek, bravery of all these about creek at the same time, bitch in sessantly about horses.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, it's going to be a bit of a parting, many horses. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the problem with Craig for me. [SPEAKER_00]: I love the whole, like, Craig running off with a shovel to go hit a swarmboard. [SPEAKER_00]: Cool is hell, but then they hop on a horse. [SPEAKER_00]: And so we may have to spend 10 minutes of me explaining what the charge of the light brigade was next week.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's gonna be fun, excited, but until then, John Barassati, Brad Chester, this guy. [SPEAKER_00]: See you guys then. [UNKNOWN]: Thank you.
