And then how the crusade into the region came to be. From there we jump over to Ibram Gaunt and his origin story, from the death of his father to his revenge of death of said father. Then of course we jump to Tanith to learn about the great forest folk of Tanith. And then we close with a little taste of Gaunt as his regiment, and how they act in the field.</p><p><a href="patreon.com/The40kLorecast" rel="nofollow">Patreon</a></p><p><a href="etsy.com/shop/The40kLorecast" rel="nofollow">Merchandise</a></p><p><a href="Discord.gg/40klc" rel="nofollow">Discord Link:</a></p><p><a href="the40klorecast.com/" rel="nofollow">Our Website</a></p><p><a href="open.spotify.com/show/7dEDiuP31Ap81EHtWMS3LG?s…; rel="nofollow">Retro Recall</a></p><p><a href="youtube.com/@BradChester71" rel="nofollow">Brad Channel</a></p><br/><br/>Our Sponsors:<br/>* Check out Progressive: progressive.com<br/>* Check out Quince and use my code 40KLORE for a great deal: quince.com<br/>* Check out Shopify and use my code shopify.com/lore for a great deal: shopify.com<br/><br/><br/>Ad… Inquiries: <a href='redcircle.com/brands'>https://redcircle.com… & Opt-Out: <a href='redcircle.com/privacy'>https://redcircle.co…;

[SPEAKER_01]: This is, wow, there's a lot on this. [SPEAKER_01]: I kind of forgot about it because I read these books along. [SPEAKER_00]: So I go to research and do like, oh, oh, I'm 100% using the stuff off the jacket and parts of the task today. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, God. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's so much here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, there's lots of real-life worlds have been caught in chaos for a thousand years. [SPEAKER_01]: The first book was 1999 or something. [SPEAKER_01]: I have. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow, no, I mean, that is the back jacket. [SPEAKER_00]: Wait, this is not, you know, this is free.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, when you go, what is this novel about? [SPEAKER_00]: I, and I always imagine the guy from the movie things tell me that every time. [SPEAKER_01]: It's really nice. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a negative comment. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to. [SPEAKER_01]: You could. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, could we pause? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, but there's also a dark room in your house, because you've shouted into it. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what's going to show.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a bread goes like a hide from his migraines. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm really quoting two-taught tents today for my stuff, thanks, Lee.
[SPEAKER_01]: Good call on like two and a half hours of sleep. [SPEAKER_01]: You can also check out my other show retro recall where I'm playing video games and talking about whether or not they were fun from the 90s and of course if you want to support us two good links there one to our merchandise We've got t-shirts stickers There we go Brad and of course our patreon.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would like talking up patreon because we are in a weird era of artists getting their lives ruined by AI so patreon is a good way to help them out [SPEAKER_01]: Also, we have a Patreon, simple $4.99 a month. [SPEAKER_01]: You get this show and the history of $40K can completely add free or $7.03 Canadian dollars because the wildfires blocked out broad in my sky and made me think about them some more.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm really going to Edmonton because Edmonton Canada picked it at random. [SPEAKER_01]: Edmonton is kind of a cool place because it has a largest urban part. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and you know what they do inside really well giant urban park. [SPEAKER_01]: So when this nice outside thing, you'll outside, but they also have the Martha America's largest shopping mall that has a water park and ice rink in a bunch of other stuff all inside because it is cold up there for a lot of the year.
[SPEAKER_01]: Eskimo is used to dominate in the CFL. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That's that is true. [SPEAKER_01]: And then they change the name for a reason. [SPEAKER_01]: The Edmund can also has a weird obsession with big stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: It's one place if you drive past it, they've got the world's largest cowboy boot.
[SPEAKER_01]: The world's largest bat. [SPEAKER_01]: The world's largest egg. [SPEAKER_01]: Why? [SPEAKER_01]: I have no idea, but they do these things. [SPEAKER_01]: Another fun fact, but Edmundton, for 70 years, wrap free. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why. [SPEAKER_01]: It's true. [SPEAKER_01]: I guess I'll do.
[SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: They eliminated it. [SPEAKER_01]: There was some dude just was like, I don't want rats here. [SPEAKER_01]: And apparently they followed through on it and decided just to have no rats. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm impressed. [SPEAKER_01]: We perfectly honest, I'm just impressed. [SPEAKER_01]: That's all I can say about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: But let's get some fun parts. [SPEAKER_01]: Edmonton has a long history of witchcraft. [SPEAKER_01]: Since their inception, they even have a wicked temple there. [SPEAKER_01]: What? [SPEAKER_01]: This is cool. [SPEAKER_01]: People want to know what's going on Edmonton. [SPEAKER_01]: They have a lot of indoor stuff and witches and they build weirdly large stuff just to make like, hey, we've got the world's biggest cowboy hat.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the witchcraft actually became problems over the years because they actually put [SPEAKER_01]: in Edmonton, and then they joined, you know, Canada, and the rest of Canada was like, yeah, you can't have those rules in Edmonton month. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we kind of want to have them. [SPEAKER_01]: And so then they had a bit of a tiff, which I kind of enjoy.
[SPEAKER_01]: So there's that. [SPEAKER_01]: But this and Edmonton facts for you that I bet you guys didn't know all right. [SPEAKER_01]: If you want to know more though Come on to the discord and ask the Edmonton it's Edmontonians Edmonton's. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: Who are in our discord and they can tell you more about Edmontonians [SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's that forever now for me. [SPEAKER_01]: If you should. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: If you live there, you know you want to go by that now, too. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm an Edmontonian. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I like that. [SPEAKER_01]: It sounds classy. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, like always sunny, like the dress up, but come join the discord, discord's awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of great conversations in there, fantastic place to interact. [SPEAKER_01]: We've been having a lot of fun and recently it's actually this cast came out of our discord. [SPEAKER_01]: People kept asking me over and over again about Gonskost and they were correct. [SPEAKER_01]: It is a wonderful topic and something that actually I had a lot of fun going back through and doing a lot of research into.
[SPEAKER_01]: So thanks guys, but also wonderful place. [SPEAKER_01]: If you guys just like Warhammer 40K universe and want to know more about it, get in there. [SPEAKER_01]: Really wonderful community we've built and I couldn't be more proud of it. [SPEAKER_01]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: let's get into it.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, hold on. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to go to the comments and a couple of the last ones, because I want to give some shoutouts to people, given us some stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: When we don't remember a movie, we have been consistently getting those movies in the comments. [SPEAKER_00]: And I want to throw that out there for everybody.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, oh, it's always good people come back and like, oh, yeah, he was helping me. [SPEAKER_00]: I just have to let me think, but I look at him all the time. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, oh, no, it's just great. [SPEAKER_00]: We just had the last one, and it was more to legends. [SPEAKER_00]: And I want to throw that out there.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a couple other ones that are on there. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, we've been challenged to paint ball in a couple of other things. [SPEAKER_00]: I just want to throw it out. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, paint ball in the poker nose. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, God. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to help you up. [SPEAKER_01]: No, God, I don't mean the Lewis that badly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Although Chris, the problem is that. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm too tall and skinny for you to hide behind and you're too short and wide for you to hide behind. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I give it a chance to get out of your legs. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we can't even use the other one as a human shield. [SPEAKER_01]: I think the word you should use was to each other.
[SPEAKER_00]: We haven't thrown it out there. [SPEAKER_00]: I love looking to the comments on the coolest. [SPEAKER_00]: I sometimes look for this to be honest with you. [SPEAKER_00]: If I can't remember something in this the cast, I love looking in the comments and seeing, well, what was the answer?
[SPEAKER_00]: Because it could remember. [SPEAKER_00]: So I appreciate it. [SPEAKER_00]: I just want to throw it off there. [SPEAKER_00]: Just a little. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, to have them really, yes, we do read the comments and it really is fun. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's go into this.
[SPEAKER_01]: So 41st millennia, it was busy right up until the end of it when Abadon destroyed J.D. [SPEAKER_00]: And you know, 13% well, actually, yeah, I think you just 13th crusade, which has been going on for 30 years now. [SPEAKER_01]: But, yeah, but it's more the end of it where the whole galaxy split in half.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you mean the rift, where you basically will try on the galaxy? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But what's interesting is that whole millennia was going hard. [SPEAKER_01]: It all had a lot to do with those damn dirty heretics, who just wouldn't stay in the eye of terror.
[SPEAKER_01]: Something something corp-semper, something something killed him. [SPEAKER_00]: And you know what, that is now the entirety of the heresy. [SPEAKER_00]: I just love the story with a long war, something corp-semper, whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was about that. [SPEAKER_00]: Let the galaxy bird, whatever, it's no big deal.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but basically for a lot of this cast, just so you guys know, we're going to do some time morphing because that's actually how Gons Ghost is written. [SPEAKER_01]: It's very well written, but there's a lot of jumping. [SPEAKER_01]: And I would play this song, but I guess Spotify will immediately pull us down if I do that.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I can't. [SPEAKER_01]: Who knew? [SPEAKER_01]: But so we're going to start back with M35 here. [SPEAKER_01]: So this a lot of all of Gons Ghost's story, [SPEAKER_01]: happens in M41 near the tail end of M41, but we have to start all the way back in M35, which not a lot is this is minimal imperial history at this point.
[SPEAKER_01]: In segment and pacificus, which like the Pacific Ocean, if you're in America, is to the left. [SPEAKER_01]: So there we go. [SPEAKER_01]: I think you meant to say to the west of the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: left. [SPEAKER_01]: So there was a world named Hagea, Hagea, Hagea, Hagea, Hagea.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you guys figure out Hagea. [SPEAKER_01]: Hagea, Hagea, Hagea, Hagea, Hagea. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure I did you live there. [SPEAKER_00]: Is that because you had a concert? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Look, when I talk about the Imperium, I say, we. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you said like, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, like, how do you so fear? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the place you grew up. [SPEAKER_01]: Cut it. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, it doesn't exist anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: It has this from thousands of years. [SPEAKER_01]: Got it. [SPEAKER_01]: Following. [SPEAKER_01]: I can have it. [SPEAKER_00]: I know that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I do. [SPEAKER_01]: I do. [SPEAKER_01]: You're barely this old. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, this world had really no actual significance in period. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a feudal world. [SPEAKER_01]: It didn't really do anything of value. [SPEAKER_00]: That's not even how you pronounce that, you know, it's how you pronounce it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if people are going to be like, did he just incorrectly say, yeah, yeah, definitely for like 11, but oh, he is so. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, then. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't. [SPEAKER_01]: We're not even 11 minutes into the cast and we're over 11. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like the what I compared it to.
[SPEAKER_00]: I also missed pronounced that. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, as I said, it was like, I just screwed that up. [SPEAKER_00]: I've been looking that up. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, my bed. [SPEAKER_01]: We're off to a, we're off to a cry out as always. [SPEAKER_01]: But here's the important part.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a world, it's out to the part of the L.A. [SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium doesn't really like very much. [SPEAKER_01]: On a world, the Imperium doesn't care about whatsoever. [SPEAKER_01]: And on this planet, because no one cares about it, it's got a mix of chaos and zeno, just war bands running all over it, and a local pop, which is hiding.
[SPEAKER_01]: on this world a girl is born and her name is subat or her name becomes that. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't really know no one's sure of that because eventually she doesn't feel like subat. [SPEAKER_01]: So, in what happens is, she starts seeing visions of the Emperor at some point, like real visions.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not like homeless person I'm talking to myself visions legitimately, the Emperor is through me. [SPEAKER_01]: And she begins to actually inspire the people around her. [SPEAKER_01]: And this inspiration leads them to start fighting back against the powers of chaos and these enos. [SPEAKER_01]: then she over time rallies her entire world of however supposed to be pronounced against the forces and they reclaim the world.
[SPEAKER_01]: These are feudal farmers who are fighting, I mean they're not fighting alpha legion to be fair. [SPEAKER_01]: They're fighting other co-existent. [SPEAKER_01]: The causes, it's still magic. [SPEAKER_00]: How about that? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but let's also be fair. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what it makes you be learning like, oh, and they defeated the alpha legion.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, they're just defeated people who are worshiping chaos and chaos probably just gave up on them, partly if they were like, yeah, we tried. [SPEAKER_01]: But after conquering Haja, Haja, Haja, Hagea, Hagea, it's Hara. [SPEAKER_01]: It's again, if you want to do another reel, it's actually Haja.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I looked it up. [SPEAKER_01]: I did it wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: And then I went, I realized that it had arrived. [SPEAKER_01]: I look forward to everyone correcting you. [SPEAKER_00]: I think I just listened to it, thank you very much. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm sure that person's also wrong, but we'll continue.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look, matters here. [SPEAKER_01]: What matters here is after conquering this world word spreads to the region. [SPEAKER_01]: And other worlds start rallying to her cause. [SPEAKER_01]: So she actually leads and goes to other worlds. [SPEAKER_01]: And this turns into a full-blown crusade into the region of segment and pacificas.
[SPEAKER_01]: and colonial regiments start rising up and joining her. [SPEAKER_01]: Pilgrim reckons were random people start joining up saying, I want to go help this take part. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a real crusade on this, it's a bit. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, even like the base, start showing the brazen skulls.
[SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, the white scars make a small appearance as usual. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a sentence that they do appear and over time, this crusade lasts 105 years and over 100 worlds are liberated. [SPEAKER_01]: And she then, of course, dies because Saints have to die, that's part of the rule, and they rename the entire section of worlds that she liberated the subat worlds after her.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which, in this part's infuriating in the history to be honest with you, Imperial lore is sometimes really awesome and sometimes really come on, guys. [SPEAKER_00]: because they just let the world's fall back in a chaos after this insane awesome crusade. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it's not true.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is not through getting taken. [SPEAKER_00]: There wasn't a giant invasion. [SPEAKER_00]: They just go, [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, we're not paying enough attention dead chaos slowly tighten its grip again on it and it's kind of annoying I'm again. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, John. [SPEAKER_00]: I know it's that real, but it bothers you to shit out when you look at this me go this story of this crusade to take it back was so awesome and then they're like [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I did.
[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't have enough time to make sure everybody was okay. [SPEAKER_01]: So, can I ask you? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I look at it a couple of ways there. [SPEAKER_01]: So first off, it does take 6,000 years from the fall back to chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's not like it's overnight number one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Number two, most of these worlds are fuel. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's not like these are high worlds that are falling back to chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: And so if you're the imperium, you go, hey, what's worth keeping and what's where I can. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to triage this a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: The problems is we've had.
[SPEAKER_00]: over the last now, 12,000 years since the Horace Harrisy, you know what happens when you just let a world go, and chaos comes in and always costs way more in the end. [SPEAKER_00]: So maybe, just maybe, don't be a douche to the places and people wouldn't fall into chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's also that.
[SPEAKER_01]: But let's jump now, 6,000 years. [SPEAKER_01]: And because around 600 of M41, the Imperium decides to go back to it. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, because of a certain Lord militant slato, [SPEAKER_00]: Well, no. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's set it up on the thing because you do all the jackets for all the books.
[SPEAKER_00]: They have firmly been under chaos for a while now. [SPEAKER_00]: This is, it isn't a some people file. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just known. [SPEAKER_01]: This whole region's under chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: That's when we say under chaos, I do want to make it clear. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not like I have terror under chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: What you have is you have a bunch of worlds. [SPEAKER_01]: They are not really [SPEAKER_01]: these are worlds that are chaos, much like there are worlds that are, you know, how there are worlds that are a vote hand, there are worlds that are these things. [SPEAKER_01]: If they're not actively attacking imperial, you know, what is over transport, whatever is kind of a viewpoint.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I want to talk a real quick about Crusades because we cover this during Siege of Rax a little bit and I want to make it clear as fun as the game space spring is to play and as fun as when we talk about space marines they are to play space marines are a teeny tiny little nothing fraction of the impure they are a percentage of a percentage of a percentage of the impure pretty cool percentage though.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are, but what they really do is they get involved either when their counter parts are there, is in chaos basemoreans or some Zenos are there. [SPEAKER_01]: They tend to, when it's a larger conflict, they'll jump in and try to do a small bit of a conflict, sway it a little bit, and then leave.
[SPEAKER_01]: They shocked it. [SPEAKER_01]: That's just what they do. [SPEAKER_01]: They break it. [SPEAKER_00]: They're in charge of breaking the defense and then basically, you guys finish this off. [SPEAKER_00]: exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium fights with humans because we breed like guppies.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no, it's just you. [SPEAKER_01]: There's no gene seed. [SPEAKER_01]: You just make more of them over and over and over and over again. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why when we talk about these conflicts, it's going to be billions of people and stories that we're going to talk about here.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to almost everything we're going to talk about the next few casts are going to be human. [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be guard on guard, on guard. [SPEAKER_01]: A little bit of ad neck here. [SPEAKER_01]: There's some space Marines who appear, but it's mostly just humans. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's because that's the overwhelming majority of what occurs in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: But that also is important because humans are going to human. [SPEAKER_01]: And what I mean by that is, to dark future, there is only war. [SPEAKER_01]: And hold on and we're never changes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, come on, man. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, the war never changes. [SPEAKER_01]: You had to throw the phone.
[SPEAKER_00]: You had to throw the phone out. [SPEAKER_01]: I know where you're going with it, but it just makes sense where we're going. [SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate the phone. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I love the phone. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, it is the catchphrase for 40k. [SPEAKER_00]: And the grim dark future there is only war and some every basic.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then actually, and they added a new one for lemon to the edition, which I love, which is this is the most violent time in the history of the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: And actually, the funny thing is, the time of the subat crusade was the most violent time in the history of the galaxy only to be overtaken a hundred years later, now the most violent time to judge.
[SPEAKER_01]: It kind of sucks. [SPEAKER_01]: But what's important about that is that for people who live in it, especially the imperial military forces, there is only one thing. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's glory. [SPEAKER_01]: All of them want their names to be added, the animals of the imperial. [SPEAKER_01]: They want to be Lord Soar in Paris.
[SPEAKER_01]: They want to be Olonia's P.S. [SPEAKER_01]: They want to be Cree, Heifus Cain. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, the Heifus Cain, he keeps coming back to life. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like you. [SPEAKER_01]: I want to be Heifus Cain. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's like, guys, I'm right here, guys. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, if you want to be here, then it's Greek with me tomorrow.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Nevermind, how's it? [SPEAKER_00]: How old are you? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, take his name off the plaque, but you know what, save the plaque. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a nice plaque and it's probably going to come up again, our soccer creators, tons of these people. [SPEAKER_01]: And so this glory is an important piece that's going to come up a lot in the stories we're going to tell here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, let's talk about Lord Meliton Slato. [SPEAKER_01]: Lord Meliton Slato was a super accomplished commander, he'd wand a bunch of major campaigns for the Imperium. [SPEAKER_01]: And he was about to retire, but I liked this one piece of that his retirement, which is cool. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not retired because he's a true story of retirement.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's not retired. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, I'm going to go live on a farm somewhere, because he knew I'll go live on some farm and then chaos will invade and stab me. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll suck. [SPEAKER_01]: He wanted to retire back to Terra to go help improve the astronomical [SPEAKER_01]: the imperial military better.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's trained and that's not that he can get better recruits. [SPEAKER_00]: He could figure people to actually a little bit more season before they hit the field. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So that was his goal. [SPEAKER_01]: But he also earlier in his watching whole life, but he'd always been obsessed with, say, subat.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because this is a man, you don't, you're not this successful, unless you're a true believer. [SPEAKER_01]: And he always thought it was amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: This lowly farm girl got infused the light of the emperor and then inspired millions to follow her to war. [SPEAKER_01]: And was able to reclaim an entire section of the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: in a way that honestly, he didn't. [SPEAKER_01]: And so at one point, he even wrote a strongly worded letter. [SPEAKER_01]: He about how we shot reclits. [SPEAKER_00]: I love that you put strongly worded letter because he effectively made a manifesto for the reclamation of the sub-out world.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you said it's a strongly worded letter. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you're not going to make it a sub-out. [SPEAKER_00]: Those are, those are one in the same. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the same. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if you want to call it a thesis, that's fine, but it's still a strongly worded letter.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was, he wrote, dear lords of terror. [SPEAKER_00]: He did this and then he also sent a letter to best buy because he didn't get good service. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, save me. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he felt at a Google review of the impure militant, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Right, he was a speaker and a proud son.
[SPEAKER_00]: These are not as big as him. [SPEAKER_00]: there to look at Jesus. [SPEAKER_01]: So as is about to retire, the lords of terror decide that his strongly worded letter. [SPEAKER_01]: Ah, the some good points in this, and they promote him to the war master of the Imperium in 755 of M41 in order for him to go and reclaim this about world.
[SPEAKER_01]: key point here. [SPEAKER_00]: Slators 150 years old at this point, which even in 40 K for a regular human that's pretty bananas for non-incquisitor. [SPEAKER_01]: That is old. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, as I said, we're going to time jump a little bit. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to go from everything I just told you, and 20 something years earlier, 30, and somewhere in that room.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that popped up 30 years earlier. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, somewhere that room. [SPEAKER_01]: We had to go find God of God's ghosts. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to the world of man's a par, man's a par, whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a child born to the second of command of the janteen patricians.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a regiment. [SPEAKER_01]: The brim got and this man had the high creativity to name his son, the brim got, which is just lazy writing on the part of G. You're confusing in the beginning of the story, by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: Through all of us off. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're reading a book and it's like, guys, just why?
[SPEAKER_01]: Why? [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't help when you're reading a book to do this. [SPEAKER_01]: So just for note for anyone writing something. [SPEAKER_01]: I have no issue with you naming your son the same thing you name you. [SPEAKER_01]: That's right, or your daughter. [SPEAKER_01]: If you're a woman, I don't care, but if you're writing a novel, don't do that.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's super confusing for everybody. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, yes. [SPEAKER_01]: But. [SPEAKER_01]: as any good guard officer got the senior placed his son the capable hands of someone else to raise him because he wasn't doing. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's so far now. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, peace out.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this tutor was named Ben Flee, Ben Flee, but whatever, Ben Flee raises God while his father is off to war, which went about as well as to be expected because his father died instantly. [SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, yeah, overwhelming killed by works on the planet, [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And then as his customary with the Imperial Military, with the death of his parent, Gont Junior is sent to the School of Progenium, where he'd be trained to become an officer of war.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Ibrahim Gont was a natural for the commissar. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, what does that mean about your personality when they go, man, you are perfect for a commissar. [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, oh, yeah, dude, how messed up are you in your regular life? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it means a rigid that's what it was and but he did stand out even amongst the comics are rank what he was known for being a very good learner both from a studio sense of like hey here's a book read it [SPEAKER_01]: but also tactically.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was good at understanding his surroundings. [SPEAKER_01]: He was good at making judgment calls. [SPEAKER_01]: He was just viewed as being highly tactical, but he's not sloppy. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, say, he's improvisational while being very, very specific in detail. [SPEAKER_00]: So that is very few enough far between.
[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people, let do the letter of the law for the Imperium, but it doesn't let you get as many wings as you want, because you're not able to [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, another key detail about him, which is great. [SPEAKER_01]: If you're going to be the lead character at a bunch of novels, is gaunt is fearless, a tightest level fearless.
[SPEAKER_01]: He would have been a very good spacemery. [SPEAKER_01]: He is very firm in his commitments. [SPEAKER_01]: He's decisive in his actions. [SPEAKER_01]: And as you will, if you read the book, she'll discover very comfortable with death. [SPEAKER_01]: He's like, I'm going to die now. [SPEAKER_01]: He's just the way he is.
[SPEAKER_01]: He never, he basically has no fear of diet. [SPEAKER_00]: It a random side before we get really into them because we're gonna talk some cool stuff, cause he's really cool, there's 50 bucks. [SPEAKER_00]: If you have a chance in your modelers and you want to paint something, his unit, the Gonskost, is actually super cool and it's very different in the unit.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like a cool unit to paint, continue. [SPEAKER_00]: Everything. [SPEAKER_01]: But, for all these reasons, he got promoted very quickly to Cadet Commissar. [SPEAKER_01]: I believe he was 18 years old and he even younger when he got promoted to Cadet Commissar. [SPEAKER_01]: And he was sent out to join the Heircon Regiment under Commissar Delane Octar.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now. [SPEAKER_01]: The HearCon Regiment were a new addition to the Imperial Military that this is the Regiment. [SPEAKER_01]: God was attached to was one of the first six ever raised by the planet they did their first they'd actually had six the first time out and they were raw. [SPEAKER_01]: We actually should mention that real quick.
[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't covered guard in a while. [SPEAKER_01]: So if people are listening to this and they haven't listened to that because like almost two years ago that we covered guard has been real quicks. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so about that real quick aside, when a guard regiment is raised, it's entirely done by the planet itself.
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't provide troops and they go somewhere else for training and then do go some of this. [SPEAKER_01]: Everything's done on planet. [SPEAKER_01]: So the planet makes in their uniforms, the planet provides some weapons. [SPEAKER_00]: When you raise a regiment, there's a real chance that you're boarding a transport and you're getting off at transport and shooting at something as you walk off a transport.
[SPEAKER_01]: So when the regiment raises up though, the one important thing is like the first couple times you do it. [SPEAKER_01]: You're just, your planetary defense force is basically training your regiment to go be warriors of all the world. [SPEAKER_01]: So the first couple, the kind of rough before being honest, it's like baking a cake.
[SPEAKER_01]: The first couple of times you do it, it might be a little bit raw in the middle. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just, [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's just true looking that, but that's why that's why Casserkins are so valuable. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why, you know, Cadiens, this is why Kriegsman, because they've been making troops for so long that they've got a factor inside it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but if it's your first regiment you've ever made, it's like, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: This is a lies rifle, point it that way. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, it's got some, they don't have as much experience. [SPEAKER_01]: So now, how do they counter that? [SPEAKER_01]: Commissarks. [SPEAKER_01]: The job of the commissar, because remember also when I leave the world, I never come home.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not like soldiers then come back and train them. [SPEAKER_01]: What happens is once you get out into the field, the commissars are assigned to you. [SPEAKER_01]: And the commissars job is to make you a better soldier. [SPEAKER_01]: and that commissars are kind of special forces.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is something that it's changed in the lore a little bit. [SPEAKER_01]: There was a period of time where commissars were all former science, and then they flipped that. [SPEAKER_01]: But you have to think of it more of what the School of Progenium really is. [SPEAKER_01]: The School of Progenium is not a preppy boarding school, whether doing sailing and making fun of poor people.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is a military boarding school that transitions to special forces as a children come of age. [SPEAKER_01]: And I want to point this out because I know their data sheets suck. [SPEAKER_01]: Commissars can fight. [SPEAKER_01]: Commissars can seriously fight. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're all aware of that.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what a commissar's job is. [SPEAKER_01]: It's to lead from the front. [SPEAKER_00]: And then actually I was saying to shoot people in that when they try to flee. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But it's it's important. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, do the raw nature of the here congratulations they were given this guy commissar general delined octar and leave him got with another him and octar had been a long time veteran of a lot of engagements and his job was to get these guys into fightie shit.
[SPEAKER_01]: But Octar also because he had a lot of experience new how to do this and he knew just doing it with a blind force wasn't going to work. [SPEAKER_01]: He had to use the best parts of the hero can to make them efficient. [SPEAKER_01]: And what Octa realizes is that they hear Ken because they're very much the way raw, regiment had a lot of variation in them.
[SPEAKER_01]: They would all exceed in different categories. [SPEAKER_01]: There was wasn't a uniformity. [SPEAKER_01]: So he would adjust their formations and their battle plans to move the soldiers to be assigned the missions. [SPEAKER_01]: They're most adept at the people who were best at sapping.
[SPEAKER_01]: Make sure they all went on the sapping mission. [SPEAKER_01]: The guys were best at stealth when he heard this type of thing. [SPEAKER_01]: And God saw this. [SPEAKER_01]: He saw this is a good way to utilize troops. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not just the all right, everyone over the top. [SPEAKER_01]: It is a let's make sure my best, most specific people go to these areas.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that is rare for a regiment to be clear. [SPEAKER_01]: And also most of the regiment is learning from at this point in time, too. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: Because most of the regiments to keep in mind operate [SPEAKER_01]: he doesn't. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is critical. [SPEAKER_01]: So later on, the six regiments are sent to a place called Glacier Stessonus to deal with an orc invasion there.
[SPEAKER_01]: The orcs had invaded from a local moon, the war boss was named Elgoss. [SPEAKER_01]: 10 months of fighting later, they succeed. [SPEAKER_01]: And [SPEAKER_01]: During this campaign, Octar took a really strong liking to God. [SPEAKER_01]: Actually, calling him boy, it's a big part of the past.
[SPEAKER_01]: The God Ghost has gone hates it because he's calling him boy. [SPEAKER_01]: Because he is a child, by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: God is like the years young for this role of Cadet Commissar. [SPEAKER_01]: Even for Cadet Commissar, he is young. [SPEAKER_01]: Octar, though, saw in God something really impressive.
[SPEAKER_01]: He saw that God really had potential. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, why, and he sees that he's fearlessly talk about it multiple times, and that he picks things up and keeps them. [SPEAKER_00]: He's tactically sound, but he's also learns for everything they're doing. [SPEAKER_01]: And so unfortunately though at the end of the campaign, after the war with the orcs, the officers decide to celebrate and they discover a rather hearty collection of wine under one of the liberated capitals and decide to have a feast.
[SPEAKER_01]: Warboss Elga's had poison the wine, which is something Orcs do not do, is very unorky, by the way, very, very unorky, bad orcs, it's not cropping at all. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: As Commissar octar died though, he brought Gontin and he promoted him to full commissar. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is, it's easy.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think Chuck, the 18 years old Commissar. [SPEAKER_01]: This is a young man. [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: And now that we have to dive a bit more into Gont himself, we'll be right back after a quick break. [SPEAKER_01]: All of this stern demeanor, all of this clever, hard focus, all that stuff, [SPEAKER_01]: there's a reason for it in God because we have to do backwards a little bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Being sent off the military boarding school kind of sucks. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just say because it's imperial military boarding school also when you get sent off the progenium because your family died, you don't have a lot of options for what you're doing. [SPEAKER_00]: It's rough there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: And let's just, unfortunately, for God, [SPEAKER_01]: early on in the campaign with a hurricane as to that commissar. [SPEAKER_01]: He led a attack on like a human separatist. [SPEAKER_01]: It was in the world of Dharandara. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is well before the Orchid campaign.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there they captured some enemies and one of the enemies was an unsanctioned siker. [SPEAKER_01]: And before executing them because obviously it was going to be that going interrogated. [SPEAKER_01]: And during interrogation [SPEAKER_01]: the psycho revealed to God the true cause of his father's death.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was his uncle. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is because the writers at GW who wrote this book also read Hamlet, not a bunch of times. [SPEAKER_01]: Because this is 100% Hamlet, like when I'm even trying, by the way, just where they're happy you're ending. [SPEAKER_01]: This annoys me, by the way, I really is part of their like, oh crap, this is just Hamlet.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, [SPEAKER_01]: His uncle was serving with his father at the same time, and it turns out that you're not, you're 100% right. [SPEAKER_00]: You said, did you just realize that you said, you said, have I said, in my mind, I said the Lion King. [SPEAKER_00]: One might be a little bigger of a literary work than the other.
[SPEAKER_00]: Boom, I'm in top form today. [SPEAKER_00]: My brain's working at a full thousand percent. [SPEAKER_00]: Look, man, scar might betray you. [SPEAKER_01]: To the lead of education, there it is. [SPEAKER_01]: I've got hair. [SPEAKER_01]: I've got hair. [SPEAKER_00]: I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got hair, I've got
[SPEAKER_01]: The story as told to Gantt is that Gantt's uncle Dersius was about to be overrun by the Orcs. [SPEAKER_01]: So he fled as a coward and let Gantt's father go on bait. [SPEAKER_01]: Not even just yet. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: He basically win. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't have to run faster than the Orcs.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have to run faster than you. [SPEAKER_01]: and then covered it up after the fact and so his father died because his uncle's a coward. [SPEAKER_01]: God was able to confirm this, but there's a catch to this. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because he's not after there's yes, he's an exactly some guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he is general. [SPEAKER_01]: Dersu, yes, now. [SPEAKER_01]: And so cadet commissar can't really do much about general. [SPEAKER_01]: However, Commissar gaunt can, so, jump to the forward again. [SPEAKER_01]: Now we're on the world of KED 117-3. [SPEAKER_01]: Gaunt is there? [SPEAKER_01]: General Dersius is there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Gaunt's, like, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: If I remember correctly, I think it was a convoy, meets up with his uncle's convoy, and does little, hey, [SPEAKER_01]: And his uncle, with his gentined petritions, get out. [SPEAKER_01]: And his uncle doesn't really know what's going on. [SPEAKER_01]: Gone, then confronts his uncle about being a coward and dereliction of duty.
[SPEAKER_01]: And effectively, it is the job of every member of the Imperial Military to die and serve at the camp held out in the morning. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's very clear now. [SPEAKER_00]: You've got the best thing to do here. [SPEAKER_00]: And the best tech in the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: The primer does not say your job is to run away in cowardice and service to the emperor.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's not in there. [SPEAKER_01]: I've read it over the primer a few times, not in there. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, God does get a little bit lucky here, rather than an example, protesting his innocence, his uncle just decides, I'm just going to kill you. [SPEAKER_00]: And which was pretty good for him, because he could have just went, now.
[SPEAKER_01]: And just want to, yeah, you know, and then had his men kill Ganton as his right new and go into that. [SPEAKER_01]: But because he did that, we now get a dead rip off of Princess Bride. [SPEAKER_01]: Straight up. [SPEAKER_01]: This is the only thing Ganton didn't say was, [SPEAKER_01]: My name is Adrian Gaunt, you feel my father prepared to prepare to die.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is outside of that. [SPEAKER_01]: They have a duel. [SPEAKER_01]: They go back and forth. [SPEAKER_01]: His uncle wounds him almost mortally, but he powers through because he is so obsessed with avenging his father's death, and eventually kills him. [SPEAKER_01]: I've seen Princess Bride way more times than I've read, but Gaunt goes books.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know my Princess Bride very well. [SPEAKER_01]: kills his uncle and couple things occur here. [SPEAKER_01]: So one good one bad. [SPEAKER_01]: The good one is he has avenged his father. [SPEAKER_01]: The bad one which God doesn't realize is he doomed his in loss. [SPEAKER_01]: Does the air he now is traitors to the emperor?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because General Gersius now has been he died in an honor duel to a commissar. [SPEAKER_01]: That means he is legally guilty, and because he's legally guilty, that means of dereliction of duty, that means every promotion he's ever had. [SPEAKER_01]: Now is not only is it null and void, but he should have been executed back in the O'Wildgo.
[SPEAKER_01]: So all nobility titles are removed, so every single member of the entire family has now lost the nobility, all their housing, all their stipends, everything. [SPEAKER_01]: And he has a second cousin named Flynn's who doesn't really care for this, and they're going to come back later. [SPEAKER_01]: But now, back to this about Crusade.
[SPEAKER_01]: the onset of this crusade is the standard tactical fortitude of all crusades on the count of three [SPEAKER_01]: basically it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, that is true. [SPEAKER_01]: Slido realizes the forces of chaos within the sub-out worlds are disjointed but are very numerous and effectively it's going to horn its nest.
[SPEAKER_01]: Once we start this this is going to spiral up quick. [SPEAKER_01]: So he has to get in there establish a foothold in the region that he can reinforce and protect that foothold said foothold because it's going to get us salt in quick. [SPEAKER_01]: So he gets 6 billion guardsmen, 6 chapters of [SPEAKER_01]: AdNec who brings titans, yeah, and picks four planets, formal prime, which is much classier than casual prime.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: I, by the way, when I read the show notes, I knew that you couldn't help yourself being that cheesy. [SPEAKER_00]: So I just accepted that it was going to happen. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: We also have on-scard, long-hailing, to be a short-hailing, that's just, that's why Bob, there was short-hailing, and then, injured, this and campaign takes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and Ted, that's what it probably takes a year, but the worlds are conquered and a foothold is secured. [SPEAKER_01]: But during this time, Slado, I held a secret meeting and he brings 48 officers into the meeting and one of them is Commissar Ibram Gont. [SPEAKER_01]: Slateau confesses to all of these officers that he realizes he's going to die before this crusade 255 years old is my that this point and he asks all the officers to swear a blood off to it that they will see this crusade Thurt because he knows when I die whoever takes over might just go This stupid I think is that's one of the things about him being around for so long in the military [SPEAKER_00]: from the beginning of his life all the way to now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Is he seeing the Imperium do this over and over again when you lose someone that was in charge of some pushing forward, someone else thinks that another sector is way more important, whatever, and they just bail on things kind of a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And so he's obsessed with happening in all 48 do it, including God.
[SPEAKER_01]: The next phase the campaign is a lot harder. [SPEAKER_01]: The world that Slado picked for the foothold work, but they weren't as heavily defended. [SPEAKER_01]: And he now he has to strike into the heart of the region, because the [SPEAKER_01]: is a world called bow hout. [SPEAKER_01]: And then the main leader is this can confuse him.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's an archon, but not true car. [SPEAKER_01]: This is just, yeah, I just, this is a term. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like chaos term. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, name Nazi bar. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Nazi bar? [SPEAKER_01]: Can I call a Nazi bear? [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I don't know if it sounds like it's a Nazi bear.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go Nazi bear. [SPEAKER_01]: So Nazi bear is a chaos of being. [SPEAKER_01]: They call him that being, not man, just being, who a, and he's the one who'd actually conquered the world's six or so thousand years earlier. [SPEAKER_01]: So chaos, big fan of Nazi bear. [SPEAKER_01]: Because of the main.
[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, Nazi bear, he has to love Nazi bear. [SPEAKER_01]: And the campaign now is in full swing. [SPEAKER_01]: Now you have to spread out and start just picking up the worlds and start fighting towards this central world. [SPEAKER_01]: And the good news is at first, it goes pretty well because the amount chaos is when the going gets tough, the chaos gets going as in retreat.
[SPEAKER_01]: They really don't like a hard fight. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not worth it because the gods of chaos won't really give you a lot of stuff unless you're winning. [SPEAKER_01]: But Arkan Nadzi there eventually gets upset and he gets involved and launches a counter attack into the Imperium. [SPEAKER_01]: And this a whole long battle, blah, blah, blah.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're here and talk about guns when it's get that far into this. [SPEAKER_01]: Eventually, Slato and the forces are successful and they get to the world of bow-hout. [SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be the pivotal battle and when they first arrive on bow hot, it is, it does not go great. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't go great.
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't get a kick on this thing. [SPEAKER_01]: What I get a kick out of it. [SPEAKER_01]: So Slato deploys down and his main commander lands and within 10 days that guy dies. [SPEAKER_01]: That's like two days he dies and then he put the next two people who take over, die within 10 hours each.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that goes great. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not until a new commander. [SPEAKER_01]: So basically the fourth in charge named Makarath, or Master Makarath. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Master Makarath. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Makarath takes over. [SPEAKER_01]: Makarath does write the ship and bring him up because he's got to come up a lot in the next few casts.
[SPEAKER_01]: But Makarath is the first one to actually. [SPEAKER_01]: Great success. [SPEAKER_00]: He's the focal point of the novel as far as life is happening. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: So, Mark Roth, and this is why Mark Roth was scribbled with it. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, Mark Roth later is going to get promoted to the New War Master.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, we have that. [SPEAKER_01]: My bad. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, that being said, the final chaos position, though, it needs to be taken, not by in a star days chapter, but by a guard regiment. [SPEAKER_01]: And I should also mention, Slato himself though, went down. [SPEAKER_01]: Slato, [SPEAKER_01]: decided I can see where the largest and heaviest defenses are.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm doing this and he took his own troops down there basically to go fight into Nadsie Bear. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the white scars were there too. [SPEAKER_01]: Yay, white scars made in appearance. [SPEAKER_01]: They do exist and the silver guard. [SPEAKER_01]: Yay. [SPEAKER_01]: But the important part is, as Slato is trying to get into Nazi bears main complex, there's a giant wall they can't break through, until a breach is done.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the breach is done by the here can 8th with commissar gaunt as their commissar. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's through this breach that Slato rushes with the support of the here can 8th and gaunt. [SPEAKER_01]: Slado and Natsi bear fight. [SPEAKER_01]: Slado is mortally wounded. [SPEAKER_01]: It's 155 years old, and but he does kill Natsi bear.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he has to be bummed at that. [SPEAKER_00]: A bit of luck, so Ben, is old guy killed me. [SPEAKER_00]: Come on! [SPEAKER_01]: Man, well, Natsi bear is also ethics thousand. [SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, I'm expecting to get rails for calling him Natsi. [SPEAKER_01]: A hundred in sight.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be real, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, it's gonna be, [SPEAKER_01]: and he does this weird thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: He calls for gaunt by me and brings gaunt in. [SPEAKER_01]: There's no explanation for this. [SPEAKER_01]: My opinion is that he had a vision of the emperor and that's why he does this because there's no real good reason for him to do any of this if I'm being honest. [SPEAKER_01]: But he brings gaunt in and he does two things back to back that are completely like uncalled for, and I say uncalled for like no one does this.
[SPEAKER_01]: He promotes God to Colonel Commissar and I'll explain why it's big deal in a second which is a He made up title, but continue. [SPEAKER_01]: It will explain why in a second and then he pledges him a right of settlement. [SPEAKER_01]: So these are just back to back and then he dies. [SPEAKER_01]: So [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he elevates macro to work. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, and then he dies. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to talk about what he did though, because this is big. [SPEAKER_01]: So first off, Colonel Commissar, there are no other Colonel Commissars in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's written down in Imperial lore that there may have been some others, but it's on maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's because it doesn't make sense. [SPEAKER_01]: A kernel is meant to lead troops. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what they do. [SPEAKER_01]: They are an officer of the military. [SPEAKER_01]: They're a political appointee.
[SPEAKER_01]: A commissar. [SPEAKER_01]: Their job is to make sure the officers and the troops stay in line. [SPEAKER_01]: They're a commissar master. [SPEAKER_01]: Is that lead? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's a negative way of looking at it, isn't it? [SPEAKER_01]: It's just, they give you propaganda. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, there is that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And there's there is that part. [SPEAKER_01]: But in effect, the problem is that these two titles actually conflict with each other because military officers and commissars operate in different world. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not like in the space marines where the chaplains and the captains actually interact.
[SPEAKER_01]: These ones don't really technically like each other. [SPEAKER_01]: we look at the imperial guard because if I'm an imperial guard say general, as we discussed a short while earlier, a commissar might ran me through with a chainsword, not really want to be hang around them a lot when that's a potential thing, but now, God is His own.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, it is to be fair, God is basically perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: So he can do this, he, this man has no moral failings. [SPEAKER_01]: God, the truth is, I'm sure it's saying now, God will be scainted if they keep writing him the way he is. [SPEAKER_01]: They're setting him up to be scainted.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's, if you read the books, you can kind of see it that way. [SPEAKER_01]: This is kind of the origin story of a saint. [SPEAKER_01]: So there you go, because he is meant to be perfect with no moral failings. [SPEAKER_01]: Part two of what he did though is even crazier. [SPEAKER_01]: So, God is going to be given as a kernel command of a regiment, or actually regiments, plural.
[SPEAKER_01]: We covered this back when we did guard. [SPEAKER_01]: If a regiment does really well. [SPEAKER_01]: They will be given the right to retire, and when they retire, they are given the right to settle a planet that they conquered. [SPEAKER_01]: None of them do this, they'll just die by the way, but in theory this will happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Slateau pre-granted this to Gaunt. [SPEAKER_01]: So technically Gaunt gets a regiment, and the first World Day Conquer, they could just keep. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a sweet deal. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's about to get a regiment. [SPEAKER_01]: So let's talk about Tanniff, the first in O.K.A.
[SPEAKER_01]: and door. [SPEAKER_01]: with no e-locks. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it's a better end, or e-walks were stupid. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: It's okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Teddy Rocksman shouldn't be taking out ETSDs. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's fine. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, so end or it's a forest planet, but it's got a weird history, and it's got a fun weird history.
[SPEAKER_01]: So recent Imperial history, super loyal. [SPEAKER_01]: They haven't missed a type pain like a thousand years so I'm like that. [SPEAKER_01]: No, it was wood man. [SPEAKER_01]: What is the point of this? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: They don't even say what they do with it. [SPEAKER_01]: I cannot figure what they do with wood.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, actually, no, I can't. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not, we both have played road trader. [SPEAKER_01]: So these guys give you the wood so they can build the organs inside the ships that don't really matter. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's true. [SPEAKER_01]: There we go. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's what I did.
[SPEAKER_00]: 100 vote tall monster organs with candles all over them. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, got it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what it's for. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: But the true history of Kenneth is one of Rebellion. [SPEAKER_01]: This matters a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: Kenneth was originally settled by people from Northern Europe, which sounds weird.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let me finish. [SPEAKER_01]: So the Imperium would find worlds, you know, by road traders. [SPEAKER_01]: And then they would send colony ships to those areas. [SPEAKER_01]: The ships would be loaded with people, obviously, but they would do them largely from the same regions, which is easier to settle a planet with people of a common ancestry.
[SPEAKER_01]: The settlers on Tanneth, though, eventually rebelled against the Imperium. [SPEAKER_01]: Why? [SPEAKER_01]: Because they came from an area that didn't really care for the Emperor that much if we're being honest. [SPEAKER_01]: And when this rebellion happened, it turned into a pretty brutal feudal state, lords, kings, all that stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Later, though, a group of people called Wood Warriors, not making that up, that's what GW wrote, Wood Warriors, armed with knives, overthrew the lords, and turned Paneth into a democracy, which, funny note, the [SPEAKER_01]: Andrew, for this calling it out. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just calling it out like that actually be for the king.
[SPEAKER_01]: Be more efficient. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we prefer the king thing. [SPEAKER_01]: We're not thinking of this Vodee Vodee thing. [SPEAKER_01]: No, but anyway, ten of this is a democracy. [SPEAKER_01]: Good luck with that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Kenneth though is still a forest world, and thus it has a very small population, so they're about to have their first ever regiment, and that's gonna raise three regiment, the Kenneth first second or third, and gone to being sent there to be their leader.
[SPEAKER_01]: and he was super excited about this trip until he stepped off the when he grabbed and saw his impression. [SPEAKER_00]: Not super excited that the free folk of Tanniff are there got some kind of a stickler for order. [SPEAKER_00]: If you're doing his alignment is lawful, don't worry about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just lawful. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the people of 10th are the true forest folk. [SPEAKER_01]: They're druids. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what these are. [SPEAKER_01]: These are meant to be druids. [SPEAKER_01]: They are heavily tattooed, but they're tattooed like spiritual meanings. [SPEAKER_01]: And I like chaos spiritual meanings.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're like stars. [SPEAKER_00]: Freakish hippies, dude. [SPEAKER_00]: Come on! [SPEAKER_01]: Well, but they're not hippies, though. [SPEAKER_01]: Cause I say druids because he won't play D&D. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll give him the druids. [SPEAKER_01]: They had a bunch of the free spirit people though that they do, but they still also hide and treat with knives.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm like, I mean, they were weak. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's because they were very competent. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: The hippie thing definitely is they're not giving a kid a name to their eight years old. [SPEAKER_01]: The kid named themselves. [SPEAKER_01]: That one's hippie.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that's literally where I was going with this. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like a full stop. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, settled down. [SPEAKER_01]: It was moon beam. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, like, that's by the way, later than kindergarten starts, so you're a kindergarten teacher and now the children have names.
[SPEAKER_01]: That would have been fun. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, but the part that's actually matters about the people of Tannet is they're very, very sneaky. [SPEAKER_01]: They are masters of stuff, like they're better than Ravenguard pre-genes eat, stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: They have camel cloaks and they can [SPEAKER_01]: and they're kind of good at scouting and infiltration and that's going to come up a lot and basically all of their stories.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's their main thing. [SPEAKER_01]: But there are some negatives to this. [SPEAKER_01]: And as forest folk, this is, you guys have to read. [SPEAKER_00]: I cannot stress these books are very, very fun to read because they do make a big deal about the fact that God has been his entire life.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's effectively been an officer of the Imperium. [SPEAKER_00]: And he shows up, and this guy has been the strictest of anybody, and he was he polishing his boot on the craft down, and he walks off to see his regiment, and like, people have, oh my god, so they take their uniforms, they cut the sleeves off, they made him shorts, they've got, you know, every shorts.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, these some guys were barefoot because they were like, yeah, I like the boot though they converted the boots into like, you know, broken stocks. [SPEAKER_01]: They've converted weapons. [SPEAKER_01]: There's equipment just dumped all over the ground because the backpack was too heavy.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're doing all of this stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: I was a glorified militia, but that's giving it too much quality. [SPEAKER_01]: It gone. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just looking at this going. [SPEAKER_01]: Guys have full beard, like tattoos on their faces. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's just looking around going.
[SPEAKER_01]: absolutely not. [SPEAKER_01]: If he's basically getting ready to just start shooting and whipping is his plan, but there's another piece we didn't talk about. [SPEAKER_01]: Kenneth is in the sub-out world cluster. [SPEAKER_01]: It never went against. [SPEAKER_01]: It never went against.
[SPEAKER_01]: It never went against. [SPEAKER_01]: But it is there. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's why kind of convenient gaunt was in sub-out and then just shot over there to pick up his regiment. [SPEAKER_01]: very convenient could your very close to the crusade to pick up more troops. [SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, you're also very close to the crusade and the imperial forces are focused elsewhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: At the fall of Bahlhot, the chaos forces in the sector scattered, as they [SPEAKER_01]: The Imperial Navy initially set up a blockade to corral all the fleeing forces and kill them all. [SPEAKER_01]: New Warmaster Macaroth had a better idea, though. [SPEAKER_01]: His idea was, you know, why should we sit there and let chaos attack our blockade?
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go hunt them down. [SPEAKER_01]: There are in a back foot, we can kill a ton of them this way. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's unlearn it organized. [SPEAKER_01]: So he turns the blockade into an attack. [SPEAKER_01]: in doing this a small chaos fleet, snuck, they're probably actually more than one did, but one of the matters for this story.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this fleet wasn't super into the Imperium at this point. [SPEAKER_01]: And begins looking for asses to kick. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, actually not really. [SPEAKER_01]: It's looking for punching down. [SPEAKER_00]: I was to say, well, as they were looking for asses to kick, they were looking for, I'm in a burn your house down because you did kick my ass.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So as Gont is getting ready to murder his own regiment basically at a anger and orbital bombardment begins because the chaos forces weren't looking to invade and conquer. [SPEAKER_01]: They're there to exterminate us. [SPEAKER_01]: They're in the soil. [SPEAKER_00]: They're all they're looking for.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, by. [SPEAKER_01]: exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: And gone immediately realizes this planet is lost. [SPEAKER_01]: And but he's not going to lose a valuable asset for the Imperium. [SPEAKER_01]: So he begins coordinating an evacuation of the Regiments. [SPEAKER_01]: Note the regiment, not the civilians.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, just legitimate. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, once he was trying to [SPEAKER_01]: I read the night, my load does not get out because he was like, oh, I should save a civilian. [SPEAKER_01]: Milo saves Gont and as a result, he gets out. [SPEAKER_01]: But this is also one of the early glimpses into how into Gont's kind of bravery.
[SPEAKER_01]: I like the tightest reference because we now have tight as a character. [SPEAKER_01]: Gont was the last person to leave tennis. [SPEAKER_01]: He sat there. [SPEAKER_01]: He was getting, he was, he basically expected to die on 10th, effectively, and saying, yeah, but I'm going to get all these regiments out, and these regiments are going to fight chaos, and it wasn't until this civilian-brand Milo's basically a child saved him, and he was able to get him onto a transport that they left.
[SPEAKER_01]: The chaos fleet did actually sack five more worlds before the Imperial Navy killed them. [SPEAKER_01]: But [SPEAKER_01]: they do get back and they, you know, remuster with 3500 guardsmen, which is nothing, by the way, that's it. [SPEAKER_01]: Then they are renamed, because instead of the 10th, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, they become the 10th, 1st and only.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love this. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's not over that, but the May is cool. [SPEAKER_00]: They're 10th, it's underst and only. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Now I will say again, later to be called, God's Ghost. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, then by the way, the regiment, not huge fans are going right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so pretty much daily when they also bleed him 100% that this happened even though. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, not exactly as small, but there's a lot of, there's a lot of screw that guy. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's stab him. [SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of going, Rod. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, that being said, they still get deployed immediately because the Imperium couldn't care less than the world was destroyed, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: You mean it's a Tuesday? [SPEAKER_00]: Got it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, neat. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's go. [SPEAKER_01]: And so they get sent to this world of blackshard. [SPEAKER_01]: And gone is given the task of assaulting a fortified chaos position because of course it is.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a suicide mission, by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: He is a regiment of 3,500. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's told to go assault a fortified chaos position. [SPEAKER_01]: They aren't, they don't have the discipline for this. [SPEAKER_01]: They're not armed for this. [SPEAKER_01]: There's no chance.
[SPEAKER_01]: But this is the first time. [SPEAKER_01]: They're so sneaky those. [SPEAKER_01]: This is when God discovers how stealthy these people are. [SPEAKER_01]: He's even got had no idea. [SPEAKER_01]: And he actually observes, he can't see them. [SPEAKER_01]: The towneth will very disappear from his view.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's never seen anyone do this. [SPEAKER_01]: And they're able to scout the fortification. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a walking up to it in effect. [SPEAKER_01]: And they find some access points under the walls. [SPEAKER_01]: just go in there and see what happens. [SPEAKER_01]: And so they go into this and they fight their way through.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of a fun story. [SPEAKER_01]: Again, spoiler alert. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's the whole these entire cast still with it. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I was just going to say, we're going to get pretty spoiled learning because we're talking about. [SPEAKER_01]: a bunch of holes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And I love this story so much because it's a whole chaos fortress in cultists, not space marines. [SPEAKER_01]: And they find this relic there and just go a little that thing looks important. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's blow it up. [SPEAKER_01]: So they do. [SPEAKER_01]: And by blowing it up, it savers the connection, all the cultists have to the dark gods, which sends them all into a [SPEAKER_01]: complex kills themselves, and gaunt, who was sent on a suicide mission, just conquered the entire fortress.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, with something amazing. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, there's no casualties. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, got two guys and the other regiments are not thrilled. [SPEAKER_01]: So this is where he does get the name God's Ghosts because they actually name it. [SPEAKER_01]: They name themselves that they prefer themselves as God's Ghosts because that they operate like Ghosts.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I can see. [SPEAKER_00]: I love the fact that they just thought [SPEAKER_01]: everyone can do this and they kind of talk a little bit of shit about it because it is just like why you guys can't do this like basically why do you guys suck so bad but yeah because that's it's a funniest part because the tanniff had never obviously left tanniff this is just what they do they just they just sit still and they're able to blend into the surroundings [SPEAKER_01]: every human being they'd ever interacted with could do this.
[SPEAKER_01]: And now they're on battlefields watching other people not do that go. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's kind of weird. [SPEAKER_01]: Huh, they're the way more, and not, they belittle them quite a bit on that. [SPEAKER_01]: later it's the early stages was more than the later stages. [SPEAKER_01]: They just they get a little shame.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they get real. [SPEAKER_01]: And now, part of this, yeah, now part of this is they also were they do believe in like spirits. [SPEAKER_01]: And there is a potential we've talked about a lot of work. [SPEAKER_01]: Look, the warp exists. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It is quite possible that they do have and not possible.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is. [SPEAKER_01]: There are entities who protect the tennis and it does help them do this. [SPEAKER_01]: Much like we had with Corax. [SPEAKER_01]: Corax was not hiding from site because he was pulling the metal gear solid. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, there was warp powers actually obscuring him from site.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now the last thing we need to talk about because it's got a couple lot more going forward because it's mainly it's a key part of the gone-to stories is the drama that is guard regiments which is crazy because these guys [SPEAKER_00]: a lot of times, just hey, sometimes they're competing, other times they hate each other.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: And there are a lot of grudges spread throughout all the guard regiments. [SPEAKER_01]: And they usually start off as minor things. [SPEAKER_01]: A guard regiment uses like political power. [SPEAKER_01]: Like what just happened here, though, he's political power to make another guard regiment do the suicide church.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's what it's because you don't want to take away your own power too because you could lose Manit and it stops you from being the most powerful regiment around. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and then one of two things happens either that regiment does a suicide charge Survives and once vengeance on you or they succeed and get the glory that now you didn't get and now you're mad at them [SPEAKER_01]: which is what obviously happened with the tanneth here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Other times, it's just a basic honor thing where one regiment accused us another regiment of cowardice, or maybe you kill another regiment, you know, father. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: These things come up. [SPEAKER_01]: This happens. [SPEAKER_01]: But all this, like, there's just constant death and killing and political action, and all of it just eventually culminates into a lot of guard on guard violence.
[SPEAKER_01]: that is technically legal because the imperium is left in a tough boat here. [SPEAKER_01]: If you have, they just have to turn a blind eye to it. [SPEAKER_01]: If you have two regiments that want to fight each other, you would have to commit three regiments to stop them. [SPEAKER_01]: So why bother?
[SPEAKER_01]: I, again, read like guppies and we'll just make more regiments. [SPEAKER_01]: That's that the overall kind of the thought process. [SPEAKER_01]: So this comes up a lot and you're going to see this over and over again the stories with God because God and the ghosts are going to piss off a lot of regiments.
[SPEAKER_01]: just the way that they are. [SPEAKER_01]: And those regiments are going to want vengeance. [SPEAKER_01]: And it usually is because like what just happened there, we just talked about, Gant will pull off stuff, no one else can. [SPEAKER_01]: And he will get promotions ahead of other people that no one else can get.
[SPEAKER_01]: And in those people, it is regiments also in the back. [SPEAKER_00]: And not only do they do these things, but also [SPEAKER_00]: God's Ghost talks a wild amount of shit. [SPEAKER_00]: These guys should be on one of the shows where they're dealing yelling back and forth. [SPEAKER_00]: It's ruined.
[SPEAKER_00]: Smash and burns on each other. [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, oh yeah, shit. [SPEAKER_01]: There it is genuinely fantastic. [SPEAKER_01]: But... [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I just want to set that up because it's really getting much more hot and heavy to that next week. [SPEAKER_01]: Today's cast was more trying to set up the Gonskowski.
[SPEAKER_01]: You guys a bit of a background first about the subat wars and the background of where they are situated. [SPEAKER_01]: There's all of the Gonskowski exist in this region, but also get that kind of can if those areas. [SPEAKER_01]: Next one's worth of diving a bit more into them. [SPEAKER_01]: Again, these novels are 25 years old.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, spoiler alert. [SPEAKER_01]: But like, I'm also a spoiled heat. [SPEAKER_01]: You should've seen it by now. [SPEAKER_01]: That's on you. [SPEAKER_01]: I watched it. [SPEAKER_00]: I said by recently. [SPEAKER_00]: Love it. [SPEAKER_01]: But next week, we're a job more into the journey of them as they pursue those at a crusade.
[SPEAKER_01]: And some of Gons, like, seemingly supernatural predestiny within the crusade. [SPEAKER_01]: There are stuff he does that just saves humanity from evil and really from itself quite a bit. [SPEAKER_01]: But first book starts enough hard. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's the first book's got some cool reveals in it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry to advance, but again, 27 years old. [SPEAKER_00]: He's old then. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, he's dead people. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, John Barsari, Brad Chester. [SPEAKER_01]: See you guys then. [UNKNOWN]: Thanks for watching!
