Episode 159 - Dante pt 3 – The Devastation of Baal, Arks of Omen, and a bit more.

[SPEAKER_01]: Today, we're going to be closing out our coverage of Dante with a focus on devastation of ball, his rise to the Lord's region in Pyramid Islands, and then, of course, his just hanging out apparently with the lion for what felt like them trying to fill something in.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about the Dante doing a bunch of awesome shit in today's cast. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, from the devastation, continuing on. [SPEAKER_00]: He also does again a meat and greet with a whole bunch of named characters from around the galaxy.

[SPEAKER_00]: The whole world, the Ohio State book, guys. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk about that in a second. [SPEAKER_01]: You think I'll have notes?

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I have notes. [SPEAKER_01]: I have lots of notes. [SPEAKER_00]: But let's talk about the real hurdle notes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So Columbus is nice though. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a booming tech and medical area. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's a really good place for people who are getting started in life because it's also cheap.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you've got low cost of living and a good job market, which is great. [SPEAKER_01]: It also has pretty good arts and entertainment. [SPEAKER_01]: I say pretty good. [SPEAKER_01]: It's good for Ohio. [SPEAKER_01]: The entertainment is good. [SPEAKER_01]: The bars are really good. [SPEAKER_01]: The night clubs are good.

[SPEAKER_01]: The art scene is good. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's go with that. [SPEAKER_00]: But why is it named Columbus despite being 500 miles from the nearest ocean? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, not my thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Although I did learn, it's actually the third capital of Ohio after Chilocose and Zainesville both failed to pan out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Can't figure out why. [SPEAKER_01]: Chilocose, maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: Sure, I wasn't even looking at the pronunciation. [SPEAKER_01]: I could not have cared less on that one another fun fact about Cleveland. [SPEAKER_01]: It is the birthplace of Wendy's, which is a burger chain that you can eat and actually know what it's doing to you because I've never had a burger that greasy in my life.

[SPEAKER_01]: It does taste good, but I've never had a burger that greasy in my life. [SPEAKER_01]: and if you want to know just how kind of dead average Columbus is, it's also where all the fast food chains go to test out their new menu items because they found that people who eat fast food, Columbus is the best indicator of whether or not they'll like something.

[SPEAKER_01]: So if you live in Columbus, you get to have weird things on menus at fast food restaurants, no one else does. [SPEAKER_01]: Where to go? [SPEAKER_01]: On the plus side, it also is the birth of Jenny's ice cream, but if you eat ice cream, try Jenny's. [SPEAKER_01]: It's really good. [SPEAKER_01]: It's really, really good.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they have a cool German village for if you want like faux German food. [SPEAKER_01]: Go for that. [SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty cool. [SPEAKER_00]: So, it's not German. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, we've got a German app. [SPEAKER_00]: Really, it's just throwing out a recommendation in a snipe like the same.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, no, it's like tax max. [SPEAKER_01]: No one has tax max and said, well, some people do. [SPEAKER_01]: This is good Mexican food. [SPEAKER_01]: Those people are objectively wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: But let's talk about a football team that still can't break the top five all time, despite having themselves named after a nut.

[SPEAKER_01]: Another by the way is not poisonous. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a massive overstatement. [SPEAKER_01]: It is only poised to eat like 50 of them. [SPEAKER_01]: They know when has ever died from eating a buck eye in the history of medical records. [SPEAKER_01]: So you're about as [SPEAKER_01]: Sure.

[SPEAKER_01]: One of those things we went undefeated, I was the last time we wanted an national championship. [SPEAKER_00]: But undefeated, though, that's the real trick, undefeated national championship. [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like you're releasing, by the way, it's nice to look 70% of our listeners have no idea what's going on here and the truth is I could not care less about this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, okay. [SPEAKER_00]: And, uh-huh. [SPEAKER_01]: Alright, let's get back to it. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's get into a bad day for the blood angels.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go through where the blood angels are at this point. [SPEAKER_01]: They're about to have basically the worst times since their prime mark died. [SPEAKER_01]: But I want to talk real quick about what the setting is. [SPEAKER_01]: Good things does help. [SPEAKER_01]: So the setting is we have ball.

[SPEAKER_01]: Ball is a single world with two moons orbiting it. [SPEAKER_01]: everything here sucks, by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: On the main planet, you had the Blando's Fortress, the arcs in Java, which is misspelled. [SPEAKER_01]: Arx is misspelled. [SPEAKER_01]: ARx. [SPEAKER_01]: I just love that you put that.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's in the notes, it's not that I. Yeah, in the notes, yeah, it's misspelled. [SPEAKER_01]: Then you have your two moons, ball, primus, and balls of conduct. [SPEAKER_00]: So you're, I actually think these are more important to the story on this, because of the fact that primus is the kind of is our very defensible, [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, it does defend for a second, John.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, boss of condeser marks itself present during roll call. [SPEAKER_01]: All three are absolute wastelands. [SPEAKER_01]: And I mean toxic wastelands. [SPEAKER_01]: The point that no living being can set foot on them without some sort of breathing apparatus or the case of ball prime best you just slowly die by for living there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Despite all this though, the most powerful space marine legion or one of them calls at home and the people on the moons despite being horrible still live there. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and we should also mention that the arcs and jellicum is considered one of the best-offended sites in the entire galaxy.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is the 100% yeah, is where we're at. [SPEAKER_01]: The tiered it's though are on their way. [SPEAKER_01]: They just finished consuming the cryptosystem where the blooding it was in the necrons blew up a chunk of them. [SPEAKER_01]: But there's still quite a lot left. [SPEAKER_01]: And just for record, when they invaded crypto, they blocked out the sun.

[SPEAKER_01]: There were so many of them. [SPEAKER_01]: So there's a lot of tear in its coming. [SPEAKER_01]: Dante though does have a little bit of advantage. [SPEAKER_01]: Dante did not let crypto's fall. [SPEAKER_01]: He went over there and actually deployed. [SPEAKER_01]: So he's seen what the tear in its due.

[SPEAKER_01]: All spaceprints at this point are aware of the tyrannids, but it's one thing to read something to see. [SPEAKER_01]: So he saw how powerful this fleet is. [SPEAKER_01]: And he did a couple things. [SPEAKER_01]: First, he starts fortifying the plants even more than before, and arming the population.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he called for eight. [SPEAKER_01]: And they ate a rise. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, well, go into this because he talked about it. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the last cast. [SPEAKER_00]: He called out for aid from select all. [SPEAKER_00]: He sent everybody in his context. [SPEAKER_00]: Even the friend that screwed you over the nose you money your ex-girlfriend, everything else, he sent it to everyone.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he said his chapters. [SPEAKER_01]: He sent a galaxy wide you up. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: But not all the bloody deals are there and this is an important piece. [SPEAKER_01]: So asked her off the grim shows up very late And it's because I'm a blanjal attachment.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say all right, but it's like yeah, it's not like he's hanging out No, but this is important. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yeah, one of the biggest things in the setting and this is why this is the everything [SPEAKER_00]: more. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just war in the Grimdark. [SPEAKER_00]: There is only war because Aberdon's 13th crusade is happening at the exact same time that Leviathan is pushing, making it really push.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And this part here of an Aberdon's 13th crusade is reaching its culmination as this occurs, which is a really critical bit because Aberdon is literally at Katie right now, as just highly the [SPEAKER_01]: Now, going back to the preparation, let's talk real quick about what's sitting at ball.

[SPEAKER_01]: So Dante returns the ball with full knowledge of what's coming. [SPEAKER_01]: Planets and the moons are well-difortification, but he makes a couple of changes once he gets back. [SPEAKER_01]: The first one is that's getting all the people off the planet. [SPEAKER_01]: Basically, if you can't hold a last rifle, [SPEAKER_01]: go.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is for two reasons. [SPEAKER_01]: One, the Hindu the tyrannids are coming in hot and heavy everywhere. [SPEAKER_01]: So he doesn't get anyone in the way. [SPEAKER_01]: He will not have time to evacuate. [SPEAKER_01]: He does that time to do anything. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you if you can't fight, leave the other one also, let's go with why though, because hey, if you're a random person and you're not inflicting casualties, you are becoming [SPEAKER_00]: basically fuel for my enemy because biomass is what they go on.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't need a bunch of people becoming a venom cannon on a new giant tiered monster. [SPEAKER_01]: The same time Dante also learned something important at cryptists, which is that the size the high fleet is just too much and it will overwhelm anything. [SPEAKER_01]: So he realizes that the best defense is actually going to be an offense.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and no. [SPEAKER_00]: The best defense is good offense. [SPEAKER_00]: I agree, which what he is, but he's also trying to run misdirection. [SPEAKER_00]: So Dante starts sending out sorties. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's sortie. [SPEAKER_00]: They're pretty big groups. [SPEAKER_00]: Attack groups.

[SPEAKER_00]: But he starts. [SPEAKER_00]: He actually has a lot of success in just killing. [SPEAKER_00]: splinters because I fleets splinter off. [SPEAKER_00]: They have tendrils that shoot off and he looks for the ones that are the least defensible or the least amount of stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: I isolate and destroy.

[SPEAKER_00]: But he also starts running attacks where he shifts the high fleet a little bit over to deal with what he's doing. [SPEAKER_00]: He's effectively trying to stall for as much as possible because Dante knows that [SPEAKER_00]: There's a shit ton of other guys in the Imperium. [SPEAKER_00]: If I can wait and keep drawing this out, my percentage chances of living, or at least my people living, becomes bigger and better and better.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now at that ball, once but on the having it's orbit, they're pretty well reinforced. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got 30,000 space Marines and over 100 ships with a good 21 battle barges. [SPEAKER_01]: So there is ready as they're going to beat. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, the high fleet does obviously arrive.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the blade angels get nice light heads up on this because the shadow of the warp descends and all the cycles start going crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: All communication blacks out so that now they know it's go time. [SPEAKER_01]: And Dante just orders the blade angels to take your pound of flesh.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the effect of what they're saying. [SPEAKER_00]: Before this, it is funny because I have to give an older old man bread for the KGMail.co. [SPEAKER_00]: Because [SPEAKER_00]: Dante knew that this was coming so he's been spamming like my email gets spam that I knew he was on a more He's been spamming the impairment because he knows that this is going to be a blackout and he's effectively also saying Hey, man, as soon as you don't get this auto send message on a sending It's not because we don't need help anymore.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's because we can't send anything out. [SPEAKER_00]: It is big because they talk about this [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, I mean, that he wants to make sure that, hey, keep sending that message. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't care if we're not getting a response yet because as soon as they get here, we can't send any more.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they didn't know this. [SPEAKER_01]: He's ugly. [SPEAKER_01]: But high fleet of bikes, and the fleet battle doesn't really last that long. [SPEAKER_01]: The cool part about this is that this is the first loss of a chapter occurs here. [SPEAKER_01]: So the angels excel, see us. [SPEAKER_01]: They were a fleet based [SPEAKER_00]: Well, well, John, they were.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, at this point, they are a fleet-based successor chapter of the body and jewels, and they volunteered to because they're a fleet-based chapters, and they go fight the vouchers. [SPEAKER_01]: They knew there's no retreat, and there's no success. [SPEAKER_01]: But their whole idea was, this is the best effort of forelawn hope that you ever have.

[SPEAKER_01]: But they knew they had the best chance of doing the most dash. [SPEAKER_01]: So they took it and then that shoving and it was long for justice. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but they took a lot of high ships in the past. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it was pretty, it was an epic space battle for someone that was for sure going to get it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Their stories have effectively their ships ran out of missiles. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how much they just really we don't care put every gun out we possibly can. [SPEAKER_01]: There is no round two. [SPEAKER_01]: There's no retreat. [SPEAKER_01]: Eventually though it happens as you'd expect the entire sky above ball and its moons are covered with high ships and the invasion begins.

[SPEAKER_01]: However, Dante wasn't done yet and I knew like a lot of this stuff they had been layering the defenses quite a bit. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, the next bit here before we just get a little bit complicated from a narrative standpoint. [SPEAKER_01]: That's because the invasion of ball, prime, ball secundous, and ball the planet all occur at the exact same time, but there's no way back and forth also.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the book's are well written, but what happens is it does move around a bit. [SPEAKER_01]: So if we're talking at cast, it put me in a boat. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't really want to tell a story linearly because I'll be jumping from place to place to place. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to try and let, you know, we're going to pick one spot, tell the story there, then go to another spot, tell the story there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Just, what you guys can know that, Casey was trying to follow along with what's happening. [SPEAKER_01]: This is a three-fruck war occurring at the exact same time. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, with that said, as the battle gets going, the first big event involves me fist on. [SPEAKER_01]: And she fly bearing the blood angels.

[SPEAKER_01]: He starts to have visions. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, the hard core missions. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, say, also never ending visions about demons on ball. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was never a good thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And one of the visions of Harlequin shows up in Kelsen. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, a band is on his way because it's L-D-R.

[SPEAKER_01]: They were like the help, but not help. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, also like, hey, I love when you have a vision that goes, hey, I know everything's totally going to shit. [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone you know and love might be killed. [SPEAKER_00]: your 100% extra nemesis is coming also. [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, okay, anything we could do about this?

[SPEAKER_01]: Nah, see you later. [SPEAKER_01]: This whole next bit's by the way hilarious, because Memphis on realizes that the tiradids are too much for the blood angels, but the tiradids and a demon make it. [SPEAKER_01]: a thousand words so he grabs all of his librarians and goes to a cave that's totally not full of fiber crystals but one hundred percent full of fiber crystals just making those late savers like nobody's maybe there's zero I've read the description of my I've seen this in nights of the over public I've been in this cave.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that's a side note for a different day. [SPEAKER_01]: There, though, him and his library is performed as ritual where they're going to banish Kavanda from the material. [SPEAKER_00]: It's one part that bugs me because of the fact that they go, hey, let's get all our guys. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, the best psychers.

[SPEAKER_00]: And apparently, they also got psyched Ted, because they're doing this ritual. [SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to make it so they banish Kavanda from the material in forever. [SPEAKER_00]: Like permanently, in full stop, do not pass, go. [SPEAKER_00]: You're going straight to jail, brother.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then in the middle of it, one of the sikers gets basically lured away by the by Kabanda. [SPEAKER_00]: And everything goes to shit. [SPEAKER_00]: And you're like, hey, man, don't bring the guy that keeps getting ds on the test. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So effectively, there's been to banish Kabanda falls apart.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because Kabanda actually manifests inside the cave. [SPEAKER_01]: And they go with option B, which is blow up the cave and trap Kabanda in the cave. [SPEAKER_01]: more on him in a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: That's totally not going to work, but continue. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So back in the arcs and jellicum, things are getting, they're going okay, but they're getting worse.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the Blangel's planning satirians was based around using the nightmare that is ball. [SPEAKER_01]: So remember, tune it to or an organic life form. [SPEAKER_01]: Ball. [SPEAKER_01]: this hates organic life for this best way to explain these planets they are pure toxic also so they were banking on the environment literally the air of ball slowly the tear is down which it did initially then that had to be minus that's it for they yeah they just immediately map gas masks yeah [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, hey, we made it slightly uncomfortable for them and then they fixed it immediately.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's part one. [SPEAKER_01]: Part two, though, is one of my favorites, is that they surround their entire fortification with both thirst water. [SPEAKER_01]: First water is ominic. [SPEAKER_01]: That's effectively what it is. [SPEAKER_01]: It looks like water. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a weapon from the dark age of technology that looks like water, but if you touch it, it sucks all the moisture out of your body and then desiccates you.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it's also AI water. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's alive and all of their fourth vacations with this stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: The next and then next to it, they have a bunch of conscripts, all the people of ball with chaplains yelling at them. [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, the set up pretty well.

[SPEAKER_01]: As I said, he's been shooting soft. [SPEAKER_01]: He's been cruisier seeing them because he's too quick for them on the way from. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the bigger one. [SPEAKER_01]: He's just like, where are you going? [SPEAKER_01]: No, thud. [SPEAKER_01]: Oof. [SPEAKER_01]: So what happens is the first button 19 waves of tear into the salt do fall.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the reason behind this is because stuff that thirst water all this shooting. [SPEAKER_00]: It works. [SPEAKER_00]: Fortress has every done imaginable. [SPEAKER_00]: They're also pulling out a bunch of stuff that you're not supposed to use. [SPEAKER_00]: They're like, oh yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, Dante, we're going to go to the basement, get all the stuff that we don't have and load it up on top.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, yeah, for sure. [SPEAKER_01]: We 100% do that. [SPEAKER_01]: But what I do like is eventually the tier and it's kind of get sick of this crap. [SPEAKER_01]: And they look at first off the thirst water. [SPEAKER_01]: The thirst water does work it organic life forms and there's a void shields.

[SPEAKER_01]: They can't just come down on top of everything. [SPEAKER_01]: They have to go from the ground and walk the way in. [SPEAKER_01]: And there are cars going through this thirst water. [SPEAKER_01]: So the hive mind just goes, but you know what I have, billions of life forms. [SPEAKER_01]: So all of a sudden tens of thousands of Gauntz just start leaping into the thirst water until they fill it with dead Gauntz, allowing the things stuff to walk over namely carnifixes and exocrins and...

[SPEAKER_01]: It's set of interfaces and everybody else. [SPEAKER_01]: However, the void shield does hold and they're still able to return fire and hold them at bay for now. [SPEAKER_01]: Meanwhile, ball secundances point basically falls. [SPEAKER_01]: There's not much going on there, but ball primus holds up.

[SPEAKER_01]: What's one of the two? [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it's ball premise holds up. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is because they had a bunch of great crusade weapons there that they were like, nah, let's just compare the point. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's use these. [SPEAKER_01]: and they had two medical chapters, the flesh terrors and my favorite the nights of blood.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the flesh terrors have Gabriel Seth who were just on team. [SPEAKER_01]: We're not going down like this and we're going to fight. [SPEAKER_01]: But the Knights of Blood are more fun, because the Knights of Blood are an ex-communicated successor chapter. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is a whole part of this book, which is called the book that was called Devosation of Ball.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the Knights of Blood become very cool, maybe jewel, the main guy. [SPEAKER_00]: I love the fact that they're so happy to have been invited. [SPEAKER_00]: Basically, they're like, ooh, we might all die. [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, but we get to come back to ball. [SPEAKER_00]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: We're in.

[SPEAKER_01]: This sounds great. [SPEAKER_01]: So the Knights of Blood for those who don't know about them are they were a successor chapter of the Black Angels. [SPEAKER_01]: Some of the Blendos successor chapters are more susceptible to Black Rage and others. [SPEAKER_01]: Flesh terrors are also one of these.

[SPEAKER_00]: The blusher is 100% off. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the nights of blood they were extreme and the only way the nights of blood were able to stop the black rage taking over all of them was to start just slaughtering people and eating all their blood. [SPEAKER_01]: So they went full blown vampire.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the Imperium and the blenders were like, hey, that's super not cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so we're going to have to ask you to leave. [SPEAKER_01]: Q the Jordan meme and I took your fence to that. [SPEAKER_01]: This is more like the person who ruins the house party. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry, we need you to leave now.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it wasn't one of the things you can sweep out of the road. [SPEAKER_00]: Because they're like, hey, man, we were going to support you, but it's on channel six news right now. [SPEAKER_00]: You're watching you do this. [SPEAKER_01]: In addition, it also changes them physically where they all have red skin, yellow eyes, they have fangs instead of teeth.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, night's of a lot of vampires. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, full blown vampires that like fall. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was, okay, I'm going to call it that now. [SPEAKER_01]: The amount of blade rip-offs we're going to cover today bothers me. [SPEAKER_01]: Just saying it now, just saying it now because you just like in Blade if you don't drink enough of the blood you fall into one of the other kinds of vampires, that's what the Knights of Blood are again awesome movie but IP violation will be right back after a quick break.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, they actually had fled the Imperium space a long time ago. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, they were monsters, everyone was to kill them. [SPEAKER_01]: But also, the Knights of Blood had a tendency to still fall to the Black Rage, and which meant they would oftentimes kill their brothers or their fighthouse, too.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they only fight solo. [SPEAKER_01]: They effectively swore they would never fight side by side with anyone from the Imperium, because they didn't want to be responsible for killing Imperial forces. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, though, they're kind of in the best place ever, because the only ones next to them are the flesh terrors who also fall to the black rage all the time, and they're really surrounded by enemies.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like, if they go into a whirlwind rage, it's one of those like 90% of time you're gonna hit a tiradid, because that's 90% of what's around you. [SPEAKER_01]: So, hey, that's that works. [SPEAKER_01]: these two start holding out pretty well against the tyrannies, but we'll get back to them in a minute because they're holding out against the tyrannies.

[SPEAKER_01]: That will shift in a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: Also during this time, Dante does make kind of an error on the fact that the tydans actually start harvesting biomass in areas he didn't think they could [SPEAKER_00]: or radiated areas. [SPEAKER_00]: Good to hear taking all of it. [SPEAKER_00]: Part of his plan is a little bit not falling apart, but they're gaining a lot more than he thought they were going to gain from what he's getting.

[SPEAKER_00]: He thinks he's growing scorched earth, and the turn it's kind of went, ooh, delicious scorched earth, we love it. [SPEAKER_01]: He also underestimated, in my opinion, the intelligence of the hide-minded. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what they started adapting quickly on the tactics. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what happens next, because the hide-minded is trying to press into Arks and Jellacum.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's stuck. [SPEAKER_01]: The void shield holds the weaponry's too much. [SPEAKER_01]: And you can't go over it. [SPEAKER_01]: You can't go through it. [SPEAKER_01]: They go under it. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know where a bunch of trigons are rupt inside of the oxen jellicum, and it lifters, and genie slow is pop out.

[SPEAKER_01]: The reason I matter is his lifters are invisible. [SPEAKER_01]: That's their superpower. [SPEAKER_01]: So if the lifter gets in, hunting them down, you're hunting the predator. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what you're stuck with now. [SPEAKER_01]: Genie slow is another hand. [SPEAKER_01]: You can see them, but there's a ton of them.

[SPEAKER_01]: The lifters head off the power generators to go basically turn off the void shield by literally jumping into it. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't forget they're also going for the free XP because they're camping the neophytes that are in the sarcophagus. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the best of the genesloys.

[SPEAKER_00]: The victor. [SPEAKER_00]: The victor. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the same. [SPEAKER_00]: The victor is going there. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: The victor is going there. [SPEAKER_01]: Dante does not care for that that second move at the exact same time to make matters even more fun the swarm lord appears and for those who just don't know the swarm lord is a named character sort of kind of yeah say there's multiple swarm lords well there's only one swarm lord but there's also multiple swarm lords that that thing in a bathroom the reason I say that is the difference is like Dante is Dante Dante is only where Dante is [SPEAKER_01]: If there is debate as to whether or not a high fleet could make multiple swarm lords in multiple places, but in a single battle that will only ever be one swarm lords.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little bit goofy because they're generally cloning these things. [SPEAKER_01]: But this means the voids shield is now down, but butch and neophytes are dead at this stage What they're down to hundreds of blood angels left and Dante decides. [SPEAKER_01]: All right screw it If we're going out We're going out like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he's like we're going out. [SPEAKER_01]: We're just they were going out in a yeah That's of glory. [SPEAKER_00]: He just got the error gore and speech defeated and they're gonna ride out [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's also another rip off they have here. [SPEAKER_01]: So the first thing he does is he orders the Tower of Amareo opened.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Tower of Amareo is a pseudo-prison that the Blangels have in the Ark and Jellicum, where all the people who found the Black Rage and haven't been executed yet are shoved there. [SPEAKER_01]: This is Tasmania Devils of just violence are sitting there and he just goes cool. [SPEAKER_01]: open the gates and make sure the doors facing tyrannet.

[SPEAKER_01]: So a bunch of just absolute black rage to the end of earth warriors come flying out in the tyrannets and these guys are just blendering. [SPEAKER_01]: It's as if in the sisters have with repentant engines, that the ones were just they just sent you out there and like, yeah, go fight and die.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what you said. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what you said. [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, sisters, 15 different units that do that because sisters are crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: It is kind of a sister thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, so we have that one. [SPEAKER_01]: The next thing, Dante also addresses the crowd.

[SPEAKER_00]: Dude, this is awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: Dante rolls out and first off, takes off his helmet for the first time in, well, forever. [SPEAKER_00]: Imagine how Brad that must have smelled. [SPEAKER_01]: He's been wearing a helmet for a thousand years and he's been sweating and breathing and took a thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had taken some of the personal time, just passed one out of the rest of his teeth in a thousand years. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, I've smelled a hockey bag. [SPEAKER_01]: This is going to top that. [SPEAKER_01]: It's all I'm getting at. [SPEAKER_00]: So I love the fact that he's not like he's wearing his arm or one other, but so it's I bought after him.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: So he goes out and he gives it a pretty awesome speech, man, because he basically says, hey, I'm not just going to be in your chapter master, but I'm going to fight together as battle brothers for one last time. [SPEAKER_00]: He gives the whole. [SPEAKER_01]: He gives the error going to be trying to go with me and then, yes, he does, but I also wrote, there's a whole part of the book devoted to how much he looks like garbage at this point.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: He takes up his helmet and the other blood angels are taken aback by, oh man, you look you should. [SPEAKER_01]: One would have put that back on is kind of, yeah, because he looks like garbage. [SPEAKER_01]: Not Brad looks like garbage, but he looks like garbage.

[SPEAKER_00]: I knew that there was no chance we were making it through without that round. [SPEAKER_01]: Don't spit that to the hundred percent there because it is to like, it's skin is scarred to hell, he is old, his hair has gone completely white. [SPEAKER_01]: It's almost like mean how they write this in the book by the way, because it is like they spend a lot of time about how much he looks like crap, because it'd be like, hey, still for 1500 years, you look great.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, the book talks about how much he doesn't look great. [SPEAKER_00]: And they're like, yeah, like my a lot by also because he's also wildly all of it that everybody else also we talked about this a little bit on the last cast Dante is one of the busiest marines in all of 40 cake because that guy goes from battle to battle to battle to bet there's not a lot of training just a lot of deploying he's always somewhere.

[SPEAKER_01]: And as they're getting ready to go out there, Dante is approached by his thrall, RFAO. [SPEAKER_01]: And RFAO has been with him since, well, since RFAO was young. [SPEAKER_01]: He's a very old man now. [SPEAKER_01]: And RFAO confides in Dante, if a look, there's no scenario that I'm surviving.

[SPEAKER_01]: Either that you lose a tiered, it's kill me. [SPEAKER_01]: Or even if you win, I'm really old, man. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna dice him anyway. [SPEAKER_01]: To how about you let me hook you up? [SPEAKER_01]: I know you don't like to drink blood, but it'd be really awesome if you did one last time.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I have a lot of comments on this, so deal with it. [SPEAKER_01]: This is happening. [SPEAKER_01]: So first off, he goes to him and this is a thing with blind angels. [SPEAKER_01]: When blind angels drink the blood of their thralls, they do actually power up. [SPEAKER_01]: Hate this so much.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, our fail says the Dante, like, look, you're not, I know you don't want to drink blood anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: I know you're over it. [SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, this one time, if you do it, you'll power up, because dude, you are old and you don't look good. [SPEAKER_01]: So how about I put you up?

[SPEAKER_00]: He's saying this, our fail is dying in the next 11 minutes. [SPEAKER_01]: whether it's by the way, there's no reason for only no we know we know what dies of old age next five, it's not the hospice can's knocking the door like I were here. [SPEAKER_00]: That's how they treat literally in the book, how they treat it.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I want to point two things out. [SPEAKER_01]: One, in doing this, our fail gives so much blood that that he dies, which is really weird, by the way, and two, this is literally in blade. [SPEAKER_01]: If you watch the movie, Blake, 1998, I went and I pulled the scene. [SPEAKER_01]: Blade is like dying, and he's under power, and someone else just goes, here, just drink my blood, and Blake goes, I don't drink blood, I'm not a vampire.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the other person goes, but you have to, they'll save you, and they do it, and Blake superpowers up and jacks on the bunch of vampires. [SPEAKER_01]: This is in the movie, Blade. [SPEAKER_01]: Full rip off. [SPEAKER_01]: have to call it out because you can't do a blade reference and have me miss it, I've seen a lot of the movie, and also side note, pay your taxes everybody, just it's important to pay your taxes.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's awkward when you owe the federal government tens of millions of dollars in back taxes. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a percentage by the way of income. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's how little he pay taxes. [SPEAKER_00]: I love that you need for everybody trying to figure out what the hell he's talking about.

[SPEAKER_00]: The actor Wesley Snipes and some tax issues, and that's where we're going. [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_01]: He didn't have some tax issues. [SPEAKER_01]: He had all of the tax issues. [SPEAKER_01]: Some tax issues is, oh, yeah, you know, they caught me. [SPEAKER_01]: No, what's with this?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm a multi-million dollar actor, and what you paid taxes that last year. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I didn't. [SPEAKER_01]: But you do it this year? [SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't feel like it. [SPEAKER_01]: And eventually, the IRS went, hey, um, guy on billboards all over the place. [SPEAKER_01]: We noticed you haven't filed taxes in a while.

[SPEAKER_01]: Are we missing something to which was his life's went? [SPEAKER_01]: Oops. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: The Dottie turns it up to 11. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and we also then don't randomly get a, you know, two towers reference, because at first light, we're going to look to the east and charge out.

[SPEAKER_01]: They do that too. [SPEAKER_01]: This is all just rip rip rip rip rip rip rip rip rip rip rip rip rip. [SPEAKER_01]: But. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, they come blasting out of the arcs in jellicum and the GW decides to just add even more plot armor. [SPEAKER_01]: So John take is coming out searching for a swarm lord, but he's getting overwhelmed.

[SPEAKER_01]: The boy angels don't know what to do. [SPEAKER_01]: There's too many tyrannies. [SPEAKER_01]: And yes, I find this swarm lord and kill him. [SPEAKER_01]: And then, because why not a group of space marines encased and fire appear all over the battlefield? [SPEAKER_01]: Legion of the Damned!

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the Legion of the Damned start just wrecking it. [SPEAKER_01]: I do like left of it initially Dante goes, do I have to kill these things? [SPEAKER_01]: Because they do look a lot like demons, and then goes add a kill and tear and it's their probably AOK. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll let these guys go.

[SPEAKER_01]: He also looks up ahead of the sky and there's the sanguine ore with its sword, basically pointing swarm lords over here, right here, just go over here. [SPEAKER_00]: So you're going to sadness on this. [SPEAKER_00]: So Dante, they fight through, they basically failanks it up with Dante leading the point of the failanks.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Dante gets into an epic battle [SPEAKER_01]: It's the most predictable battle. [SPEAKER_01]: So guess what happens? [SPEAKER_01]: Don Tans from start fighting. [SPEAKER_01]: Gee, I wonder what'll occur. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, don't take it to the upper hand. [SPEAKER_01]: He does. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he uses plasma pistol and blows off one of the sword lord's arms.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then the sword lord jams assortment. [SPEAKER_00]: No, don't say shoots the sword lord in the face. [SPEAKER_00]: Pointing blank with his eyes and with his tongue. [SPEAKER_01]: after though after how does he do it. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a whole thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, if Dante just jumped up and did like a kick flip, you know, a Tony Hawk pro skater for a style and then shot him in the fate.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, he gets stabbed. [SPEAKER_01]: And of course, one of his two hearts, which lets him get close up the swarm lord to then he shoot their actions a whole thing. [SPEAKER_01]: He first he takes one of the earlier in the battle. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and then he clinkled back at it for us while being stabbed and blasts it in the face with a plasma.

[SPEAKER_00]: His fire is awesome because he basically talks like this is nothing merely a flesh food. [SPEAKER_00]: It just solders through a fight for part which is wildly bigger than him. [SPEAKER_01]: This might be the ninth book, by the way, where I've had to read about a warrior king stabbed in one of his two hearts using that to get closer to the enemy and then killing the enemy.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, this is a big deal, because the fact that, well, for one, he killed technically I'm doing air quotes. [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, no one can see me. [SPEAKER_00]: He kills Dante. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes, mostly dead. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, two ways. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a whole family part that will occur here.

[SPEAKER_01]: But here's a big difference between dead and mostly dead and all the way dead. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got the rummage run in Dante's pockets for loose change. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, but the thing is, he, Dante, knew that this was [SPEAKER_00]: the prophecy, it he is fully willing to take one for them.

[SPEAKER_00]: The reason behind this is to save the courageous. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if I can kill this warm boy, this will sever the connection and the materials fighting will start to fall apart and give us a chance to get an upper hand. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, while this is occurring at basically the exact same moment, [SPEAKER_01]: Abadan is dropping his blackstone fortress on KD because just wasn't working and so he went with option B. I don't know crash a stupid thing into the planet.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what happens. [SPEAKER_01]: And it works destroying all of the blackstone on KD. [SPEAKER_01]: And suddenly the eye of terror becomes a risk. [SPEAKER_01]: The risk is riffing across the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: And because a wear ball is, that rip goes right basically above ball.

[SPEAKER_01]: Ball doesn't get encompassed by the rift. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just above the rift, but it's close up. [SPEAKER_01]: They can all see it happen as this occurs. [SPEAKER_01]: This is also what helps with the killing of a swarm lord. [SPEAKER_01]: It causes this array within the high fleet because a high fleet creates a blank in the galaxy of warp sort of.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is pure warp just runs into it and this actually overloads the hive fleet. [SPEAKER_01]: The hive fleet doesn't know what to do and loses connection all over the place. [SPEAKER_00]: I love this level of petty because your boy Kabanda, worshiper of court, big dog of corn, those look guys, nobody gets to kill blood angels to the man unless it's me, I'm gonna kill you so that I can kill them later, actually says that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he calls out. [SPEAKER_01]: So Kabanda, up here is now all of a sudden on ball print and starts, now, he, him and his ret new of all of corn, start just killing everything they can find. [SPEAKER_01]: Ever, I'm early in turn, it's, but not really upset if he happens to pick up a few blood angels in the process.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're just killing, yes. [SPEAKER_00]: and he's just going on this little slaughter train. [SPEAKER_01]: This is the moon where the flesh tears the nights of blood are. [SPEAKER_01]: And the nights of blood flexures look at this going, well, things are worse now. [SPEAKER_01]: We were barely holding out against a tear and it's, and now it looks like the entirety of the army of corn is also tearing towards us.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they give, so I do love this guy a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: So the chapter, Master Nights of Blood, the Centaur Jewel, turns the Gabriel Seth and gives him the whole, hey, you should run, I'll cover you. [SPEAKER_01]: And because his whole view point is, my chapters, but he gives a really good speech with it.

[SPEAKER_01]: He says to Gabriel Seth, look, my chapter felt the black rage. [SPEAKER_01]: And we never recovered from it. [SPEAKER_01]: And we spent all of our times doing the worst possible things [SPEAKER_01]: It also don't be us. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, don't be like me. [SPEAKER_01]: And he turns just also in that, I'm like, but this fight that's occurring now.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have no chance. [SPEAKER_01]: Let me and my guys fall to the black rage. [SPEAKER_01]: You all leave. [SPEAKER_01]: And that way, anyone we kill is a bad guy. [SPEAKER_00]: Prom solved, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I love the fact that they do the whole card at least. [SPEAKER_00]: What is your secret?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm always anchored. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm always anchored. [SPEAKER_00]: It turns around. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just the the whole chapter just kind of simultaneously loses its shit and it just goes buck wild. [SPEAKER_01]: But as it's going, Kabanda reaches out to Jewel. [SPEAKER_01]: Basically, thoughts, you know, shit talking in for what it is.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, look, you basically are a quarantine and how [SPEAKER_01]: which doesn't go right by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Gabriel, he gets the same treatment the juggernaut gave Deadpool. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not right. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: It ends it, but as this is happening, Gabriel Seth what's left of the flesh terrors and the glee club that is them and a few civilians go to leave the planet.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this whole is next scene in the book is really cool. [SPEAKER_01]: I do like it for really one main reason. [SPEAKER_01]: So as they're leaving the planet, they get caught in a massive warped arm because Tyrionids plus Kabanda plus the rift [SPEAKER_01]: There's kind of a little bit of a warp storm stuff all over the place and they're moving through this warp storm, the ship is getting ripped apart and then suddenly the warp storm stops and in front of Gabriel Seth is the largest imperial fleet.

[SPEAKER_01]: ever he's ever seen by a wide margin. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's because you can't spell plot armor without Robotea Gillin is not with Bobby G. I mean, you can he's you guys you just you give the same speech their armor is sick. [SPEAKER_01]: The show notes literally said, yay, the heroes of the Imperium are here, because that's what's going to look current.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it does. [SPEAKER_01]: As Kabanda is finishing an off ball prime, Gilman and his forces arrived on ball and just killed every tear he had there. [SPEAKER_01]: So for the record, it was technically the old trimmerings that won the devastation of ball. [SPEAKER_00]: It's more, I mean, if you're going to go for a pure body count, I actually think it's a band in the demons.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of those like who wanted it's that piece of who got the last punch. [SPEAKER_01]: It was an ultramarine. [SPEAKER_01]: You got it. [SPEAKER_00]: What do you want? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Scrides perfectly the ultramarines. [SPEAKER_00]: Feels steel in son of a bitch.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Just kills steel in. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But who got you? [SPEAKER_00]: Your nab and loot as soon as the loot drops. [SPEAKER_00]: Your nab and it leave it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: And so who's got all the loot and all the XP?

[SPEAKER_01]: that's the ultimate. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, back to Dante, because we should talk about this while this is going to be his past. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Dante has the Deadpool 2 scene where he's dead and is super happy about being dead. [SPEAKER_01]: He actually meets Sanguanyas and Sanguanyas says they're in the night.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he also thinks, well, Paul's on this because this is a big scene of this because he legitimately thinks he has [SPEAKER_00]: finally found also his purpose. [SPEAKER_00]: Hey man, I've been leading the blood angels for so long. [SPEAKER_00]: I've pushed them to certain places. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I am complete.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I had to push the stone up the mountain every single day forever. [SPEAKER_00]: I can now be good. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so what I should have, I was able to find the actual tax, my copy of it over because I think it's really well done. [SPEAKER_01]: So, saying, when you just look to them and says, my son, my greatest son, you have suffered greatly from mankind's sake.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have won your rest of thousand times and rarely has one man given so much. [SPEAKER_01]: Louis of Balsicondus, you have been my life course of us and I would give you any reward. [SPEAKER_01]: I would take you to my side, I would free you from strife and I would release you from pain.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, Dante goes, [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, super sunny, however, but he didn't hear the, but yes, Dante response is yes, I have served so long grant me the freedom of death. [SPEAKER_01]: And St. Gwyneth looks at him says, I cannot. [SPEAKER_01]: I regret that I can do none of those things. [SPEAKER_01]: I need you Dante.

[SPEAKER_01]: Your suffering is not done. [SPEAKER_01]: Literally use the word suffering. [SPEAKER_01]: And St. Gwyneth grips Dante's face in both hands and basically floods him with energy to the point where all is undertaken here, the shouts of space [SPEAKER_01]: You know, tell them that the dot tape and screams out at least no my Lord.

[SPEAKER_01]: I have done enough. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but because the better line strength rolled from the primar driving out death's comfort and replacing it with we've had a yeah, don't pay returns to life screaming for the mercy of death. [SPEAKER_01]: That's also not the worst part. [SPEAKER_01]: Although this bit next bit gets a little bit ruined, the next thing Dante sees is his father.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it would should be a much more heart-wrenching scene, but unfortunately, the half him referred to his father as DA, which just like in the Hobbit ruins everything when someone calls their father that, I'm sorry, maybe an England that works, but in most of the world, when someone calls their father DA, it just doesn't have a ring of compassion.

[SPEAKER_01]: Just say that, duh, it's just, it's a line that can never be delivered with any actual emotion or attachment calling it up. [SPEAKER_01]: But Dante speaks to his father for the first time telling him, look at me, I've become an angel. [SPEAKER_01]: Are I amazing? [SPEAKER_01]: And then the vision shifts, it's not his dad, it's an apothecary, apothecary, yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: However, the what the F train is not done yet, because now he's going to be a Danny God. [SPEAKER_01]: The next thing Dante does is, Gilliman, who's been mostly dead for 8,000 years. [SPEAKER_01]: is standing in front of him. [SPEAKER_01]: And this scene again, because Gilliam is awesome, is a cool scene because Dante kneels immediately.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's also because after all of this stuff that he did, he actually goes, I apologize for failing to protect ball. [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, even though this is like, hurt you, Lee and Tast, I shit. [SPEAKER_01]: And Gilman, the immediately tells him, get up number one, you do not need to kneel in front of me what you did.

[SPEAKER_01]: And gives Dante all the credit for the victory at ball, pointing out that the only thing his legion did when they arrived there was did clean up work. [SPEAKER_01]: If it wasn't for Dante, would have fallen. [SPEAKER_01]: So there's nothing for you to kneel about. [SPEAKER_01]: Nothing to apologize about.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I've almost Gilman makes no mention to the band. [SPEAKER_01]: What's so ever? [SPEAKER_01]: And the fact that they have just giant, [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, over a ball-privileged, there's a giant. [SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't matter. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a mountain of skulls in the shape of cupanda.

[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, we're going to let that one go. [SPEAKER_01]: Dylan and then brings even, well, combo news. [SPEAKER_01]: First is good news, because the next thing Dante notices is that there's a bunch of blood angels standing around, Dylan and... [SPEAKER_01]: who are way larger than they should be.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: They're all juiced up. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And also, is there any dots in that recipes? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: They're, they're armors all shiny going like, so hey, what's up with these guys? [SPEAKER_01]: And the good news is call then is like, oh, yeah, I made new space marines.

[SPEAKER_01]: And cool, good news is they're immune to the red 30 black waves. [SPEAKER_00]: Your boy makes a bunch of promises. [SPEAKER_00]: the lemon loss should have been in fact here. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: These guys do not perform exactly as planned. [SPEAKER_01]: They do not. [SPEAKER_01]: But what is cool about this is Dante looks at this and does kind of go well.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's like 50 blood angels left and the Jesus killed all the neophytes. [SPEAKER_01]: And you're offering me a few thousand new guys, a few hundred, but the thousands spread throughout all the successful chapters. [SPEAKER_01]: Nah, cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's bring these guys in. [SPEAKER_01]: And he ended up doing, I don't really want to dive too much into this, but he actually does do a lot of good stuff for the prime aerosperians, because he's the one, he gives them like their rights.

[SPEAKER_01]: So when you join the bloody angels, the last thing you do is you get your little blood pendant, he personally gives it to these prime aerosperians. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he brings them in a lot of the other chapters when the primaries Marines came in like the space rules are good example of this.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're like cool you can be part of us, but you're gonna be part of us over there in your own group. [SPEAKER_01]: They don't even take it in. [SPEAKER_01]: Whereas in the blood angels, you would in theory, and we couldn't just on tabletop, you would have first born with primaries serving the same squad together.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was the way they wrote it up. [SPEAKER_00]: And Dante does take the just cross the river kind and becomes primaries themselves, so we'll talk about that in a bit. [SPEAKER_01]: you're not for a bit. [SPEAKER_01]: So the next thing is the Gilliman does now say we're just talking about the M. Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Of course. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: He dotes fully on primaries. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, one of the few people that are immediately full on primaries. [SPEAKER_00]: That's my point. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to make it up. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Now Gilliman also does bring some, I mean, he thinks it's good news, but to dot it, this is horrible news.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I love these were all happening back to back to back. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Dante thought he was embracing his finally relieved. [SPEAKER_00]: Dante thought he was happily dead and now he comes back. [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, all right, I guess I'll go back to doing everything I have to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's terrible, but I guess I'll keep soldiering on and Gilliman goes. [SPEAKER_00]: Wait a second. [SPEAKER_00]: We lost a lot of people and we haven't retired anybody. [SPEAKER_00]: We're giving all of their jobs to you and a new title because the riffs out here and it's hard for me to get back and forth because traveling through the warp is not great right now because I don't know traffic jam at five o'clock, but he says not to let him.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're not [SPEAKER_00]: Yep, yes, sure. [SPEAKER_00]: You now are promoted to warden of a period of nylists, you know, all those other things you were doing, keep doing those, but also you're now in charge of everything from a fiercely, Gilman is going to go run the Imperium on the underside of the rift.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, which is, we said cut the Gaussian half the riff. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not what you have. [SPEAKER_01]: It's more like a two thirds to one third, but the upper third, the one that also includes the ghoul stars. [SPEAKER_01]: Most of the momentum has said obscures not obscures the segmentum at the big one to the right.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's all the worst bit. [SPEAKER_00]: It's it's not the good spot. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's where we have a lot of, oh, he gave him the worst neighbor. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, hey, I'm on a key running. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll go run the suburbs. [SPEAKER_01]: You handled downtown and the heart of downtown that no one goes to.

[SPEAKER_00]: In my mind, however, Bobby G gave him the move fastest speech to Symba goes to everything the I can see. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's yours. [SPEAKER_01]: And what up, the nice bit over the way to develop. [SPEAKER_01]: And no, that's my, I got it. [SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna handle this bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, it's just all cracked ends. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, but they're your crack dents. [SPEAKER_01]: It does take us, I guess I'm accepting this, but so it does this Gilliman leaves, gives them all the blood angels, but that's part. [SPEAKER_01]: The next part of the story we now move into another [SPEAKER_01]: Now, Dante and Mifist on have to go on their little adventure.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not only much of an adventure, so Dante and Mifist on's fun though. [SPEAKER_01]: It's cool. [SPEAKER_01]: So what happens is Dante sets out to rebuild everything above the rift. [SPEAKER_01]: And yes, Gilman gave him a bunch of reinforcements, but there's still not enough. [SPEAKER_00]: And the one thing, what point out to people though, so why it's so hard is because a lot of times, [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, hey, when we're rebuilding, we're using what's left and the things got destroyed.

[SPEAKER_00]: The people got killed, the tiered it's take everything, it's biomass. [SPEAKER_00]: They leave a blank rock. [SPEAKER_00]: So there's no, they don't have anything to rebuild off of. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: So these places are gone, which is a big deal, because tiered it's steel, every chance you have of retaking your old places, there's just no place to retake.

[SPEAKER_01]: So what's going to happen next is Dante realizes there are probably some spread out settlements spread out this here and there. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's go grab them because one thing Tyrannos don't do is don't eat ships. [SPEAKER_01]: So one of his first has is to go and actually find effectively abandoned space craft without bringing them in.

[SPEAKER_01]: So on one of his will go with routine air quotes here journeys they've got a whole flotilla and they're coming back. [SPEAKER_01]: And while they're almost back to ball, [SPEAKER_01]: it's actually it's a cool scene in this basically just it's a cool scene. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm jumping in on this because [SPEAKER_00]: What's up with the fact that the astrapass and the navigators and stuff?

[SPEAKER_00]: No one's ever around these guys. [SPEAKER_00]: They're supposed to be heavily monitored and in the stories, it's always, yeah, whatever, they'll probably be fine. [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, these guys get infected by chaos on the regular. [SPEAKER_01]: What else he said about not what they can, I think it was a glass of wine that he was being offered and he felt to that, which then allowed, not just slenashed a manifest, [SPEAKER_01]: Chirus to manifest inside them so that the ship immediately falls to chaos, which means everyone has to drop out of work travel do this Nefist on and Dante launch into the ship to go be like all right, let's go clean this stuff up [SPEAKER_01]: Now, Kyrus real quick, those who don't know, Kyrus is a very, very, very old, greater demon.

[SPEAKER_01]: Kyrus and Kabanda were the two who originally tempted Sanguenius after Kabanda was killed. [SPEAKER_01]: Kyrus was actually the one offering to Sanguenius, the ability to get rid of the red thirst, and exchange for coming over and joining chaos, which is when a pathocallion, marine merrows jumped into the portal instead of it, and blah, blah, blah, blah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Don't I had a fist on fight the ship and they come upon Kyris who has turned the entire crew of this ship into a pillar of flesh and not in a good way No, is there ever a good way to be come up? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but I want to make sure it was clear that he didn't in a way that's not the good way It's you know, yeah, the very much it's very uncomfortable.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes [SPEAKER_00]: in the middle of a Volkswagen. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, Chyrus makes the offer. [SPEAKER_01]: It says Join Slanesh and become her greatest champion. [SPEAKER_01]: And I will cure the red thirst and the black rage. [SPEAKER_01]: Dante holds up double middle finger of like the hell is going caused by the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is such a good scene, though. [SPEAKER_00]: Cause guys, cause wasn't talking to you again out of the way. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was talking about the guy behind you, though they're super-cycur because Mifist on's been struggling for a while now. [SPEAKER_01]: He's basically put in right on the edge of the black rage.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's been seeing visions. [SPEAKER_01]: All this stuff is messing him up. [SPEAKER_01]: But the fist on looks at that goes, yeah, I might be messed up, but no one's this messed up, nope. [SPEAKER_00]: And so my fist on the dot, you're dealing is terrible too. [SPEAKER_00]: You have to give this to the right, you're like, they're like, I could do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, yeah, man, this is the shitiest offer ever. [SPEAKER_01]: No, and what was the universe where my fist on in Dante, we're gonna turn on the Imperium, like why not bother? [SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, so it's super mad about it, too, like, I gave you a great deal, you're like, [SPEAKER_00]: No, man.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was not a good deal. [SPEAKER_01]: But also, you're a demon of slunash. [SPEAKER_01]: You can do better. [SPEAKER_01]: When corner-nergal demons don't give up great offers, you're like, nah, Kai tracks. [SPEAKER_01]: But like, you're a demon of slunash. [SPEAKER_01]: This is kind of like your own leaping.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you offer it up like, I'll cure something that you kind of mediocre care about because you've been dealing with it for a thousand years and you're kind of used to it. [SPEAKER_00]: me. [SPEAKER_01]: So they do this, but in the process of banishing. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, they do it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's banishing.

[SPEAKER_00]: They did a full banishment. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a massive psychic backup lash. [SPEAKER_01]: As that occurs, four primaries marines fall to the black rage. [SPEAKER_01]: Showing Dante that the black rage is not a gene flaw. [SPEAKER_01]: It's something deeper, which means it's a link.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Which is also why we still get death company primaries marines. [SPEAKER_01]: Ta-da. [SPEAKER_01]: There it is. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, [SPEAKER_01]: Two more important things happen. [SPEAKER_01]: First off, the fist on is really struggling, post this, and they're going to have to kill him because normally when a blood angel falls to the black rage, however, black rage, you go death company, we'll go ahead and do one more battle.

[SPEAKER_01]: When it's the most powerful psych her potentially in the history of the chapter, you just bolt her back of skull because you do not want that person attacking lashing out everywhere. [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, hey, man, we were all eating lunch and the fist on the side of delusion. [SPEAKER_01]: And the fist on goes to Dawkins says, Kill me, I need you to kill me, I'm going to get worth.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Dante does the cartoon thing of hitting him in their head hard with a hammer and knocking him unconscious, which again, it's not how concussions work. [SPEAKER_01]: It's calling it out there. [SPEAKER_01]: Like you'll get knocked unconscious and then wake up a few hours later. [SPEAKER_01]: You wake up immediately with a headache.

[SPEAKER_01]: So side note different day or you're out for a much longer time and what you don't know or you may or may not make up because no one happened but no one has a concussion you'll get a concussion and false even if you get a brain bleed that you then you then stay asleep for but it's like yeah he knocked me unconscious I woke up a couple hours later feeling refreshed no if you wake up right away and you're the hospital because you're about to die but it's simple to tell that [SPEAKER_00]: but no one hits you with the head.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was your body doing it to itself. [SPEAKER_01]: What a point of, you did not get a good caution from like, when I was in no fight, something to hit him with a hammer, Brad's on body went, Ed's been enough, like, we're good now. [SPEAKER_01]: The brain, no. [SPEAKER_01]: So different note, I got judo topped by my own body.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, your body just went, now, now. [SPEAKER_01]: So the next thing though, what happens is Qvo's an emissary from call arrives and has an alternative. [SPEAKER_01]: The, they could add the gene seed of the primarist to existing rates. [SPEAKER_01]: They've been doing this a little bit here and there.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that would actually potentially help me fist on up. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's as much as that's not die anyway. [SPEAKER_01]: And despite they have a 60% survival rate. [SPEAKER_01]: Side note, 60% survival rate, I've never read one story of someone on the 40% side. [SPEAKER_00]: Dude, it's like sex Panthers, 60% of the time.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying, she WB nice. [SPEAKER_01]: They had, oh, he described it across the Rubicon and died. [SPEAKER_01]: Huh, okay, this one, because I can't name a single time that's happened. [SPEAKER_01]: They keep telling you, it happens all the time, but then they kind of brush it under the rug and you, that prints just a statistic.

[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever the Ted, [SPEAKER_01]: Mmm, that's what I'm the Ted. [SPEAKER_00]: Damn it, Ted. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, based Marine Ted. [SPEAKER_01]: So the fist on goes through, and it actually works really well. [SPEAKER_01]: Not only does he actually heal him, making bigger and stronger, which I'll be honest, that looks like it goes, what's kind of nice.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it also helps me fist on regain his powers, and he's no longer succumbing to the black rage. [SPEAKER_00]: I do love this the next part so much. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, then Patrick Dante just decides to go do it because he's like, that takes the size to go do it and he's like, look, well, again, I was saying before he wants to brace.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this is the new wave. [SPEAKER_00]: This is make us better. [SPEAKER_00]: It'll make us easy. [SPEAKER_00]: He also gives the whole thing up to himself and [SPEAKER_00]: the devil. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, this makes us better at protecting the imperial doing our job. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm definitely going to do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love that he gets there. [SPEAKER_00]: It has it all done. [SPEAKER_00]: And effectively goes, hey, man, I was busted up for centuries. [SPEAKER_00]: And I kind of had this done. [SPEAKER_00]: It's yet. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm lying in that. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, yeah, it turns out I didn't have to fight with a bad back, though, with a hundred years.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's in one of the books. [SPEAKER_01]: It's great scene. [SPEAKER_01]: But so now he is primers. [SPEAKER_01]: The next piece takes us to arcs of Omen, in which Dante hears these rumors of this, like mysterious kind of chaos murderer, and they go to go try and find him. [SPEAKER_01]: And so the first thing they come upon is a chaos ship called the Night Terror.

[SPEAKER_01]: On it, all the heretics are dead, slaughtered with a sword, but there's bits of plant life also on top of them, like leaves and branches and shit. [SPEAKER_01]: And Dante's librarian starts searching for a trace of what's doing this, and they keep hearing all they can get to is stories of that whenever monsters or chaos, whatever it is, are about to kill the innocence, a giant hooded figure, giant being a key thing here, with a big gold shield appears may forest, by the way, the forest also wasn't there.

[SPEAKER_01]: The forest will appear inside of a spaceship. [SPEAKER_01]: kills them all of this appears. [SPEAKER_01]: So Dante catches up with the lion. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what happens. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the lion obviously is when he's come back. [SPEAKER_01]: We're seeing no story of them meeting.

[SPEAKER_01]: I read this five different times like where are these two meet? [SPEAKER_01]: They don't meet. [SPEAKER_01]: He goes searching for the lion. [SPEAKER_01]: And the next thing we have is the lion is on the ship doing sparring with a bunch of blood angels, not going great for [SPEAKER_01]: mean and in a mood I will put out in a mood he's definitely a grouch.

[SPEAKER_01]: The backdrop of this although is Dante grabs the lion. [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, don't forget who's he come back with? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I don't know if you hate the though is in the reason. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't care. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not even addressing this. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: The next thing for next time.

[SPEAKER_01]: is this is also the series that gave us Vastor and their turn of the angle. [SPEAKER_01]: So Dante is about to finish meeting all of the newest models in the game. [SPEAKER_01]: Vastor had built demon caliband. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what I'll call it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's called the world was called wormwood, which is again, suck at IP violations.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Vazaro caliband. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, it's been a way of putting it. [SPEAKER_01]: And he trapped a bunch of dark needles in the fall in there. [SPEAKER_01]: Basically a bunch of dark [SPEAKER_01]: and then while they're both them got surrounded by chaos as reals one of them. [SPEAKER_01]: And the story is actually quite funny because as real is fighting the fall and they're being attacked now by Abid on the world leaders and all this stuff.

[SPEAKER_01]: The response is, can we talk to him, please?

[SPEAKER_01]: And Dante has to go. [SPEAKER_01]: Daddy goes back to grab the line and discovers the lines up there anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: I was, uh, I don't have him here, but I assume you guys should look around because I'm assuming he's down by you, which is what happened. [SPEAKER_01]: So. [SPEAKER_01]: Dante though at same time can't just hang out, he sees the world leaders and more importantly, he sees Angron.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is Angron's first appearance in the galaxy since Armageddon. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's not ideal. [SPEAKER_01]: And he goes, let's go do this. [SPEAKER_01]: And this really amazing thing happens. [SPEAKER_01]: Dante attacks [SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about why this happens. [SPEAKER_00]: Dante, a text angron in the lion's book.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not every book. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, there's normally, this is a guy who's beaten Kabanda, Scarbrand, and the Swarmlord in one-on-one combat. [SPEAKER_01]: He's killed over a million orcs. [SPEAKER_01]: He's done hilarious things to the towel. [SPEAKER_01]: Dante and his [SPEAKER_00]: Ingrant, RKO is all the same when he guard instantly.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then just explodes Dante. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love it, because Dante launches at him, jet packs the fury. [SPEAKER_01]: And also, it's his primary stonte. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's the biggest and strongest Dante of all time. [SPEAKER_01]: Fire that Angron, Angron just powers his strike, grabs him, and slams him into the stairs, breaking him.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then comes wandering over to kill him. [SPEAKER_01]: And as he goes to kill him, the lion appears in the lion [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, given his props, the lion takes his shield and crush his anger on Scott. [SPEAKER_01]: Look at that, there's that, there's that, the part that I do like, though, is that they then escape.

[SPEAKER_01]: They don't conquer this world, they flee. [SPEAKER_01]: While fleeing Dante is sad though, and he's sad because he's now met a bunch of ultramarines who have Gilliman. [SPEAKER_01]: Now he's watching these dark angels just, you know, busy cry with joy, the lion is back. [SPEAKER_01]: But Dante knows that's something his legion can never have.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sanquinius is dead and is never coming back. [SPEAKER_01]: And he actually is saddened by like, oh, we will never have this joy. [SPEAKER_01]: But with that though, [SPEAKER_01]: that gets us to the end of our coverage of Dante. [SPEAKER_01]: Dante, you know, 1500 years old. [SPEAKER_01]: He is the most known person in the Imperium that people have met.

[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, the Emperor is the most known part of the Imperium, but you don't get to hang out with them. [SPEAKER_01]: People haven't met him. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's carried innumerable monickers over this. [SPEAKER_01]: He is commander Dante. [SPEAKER_01]: He's Lord's region of Imperium Nile's.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's Lord of the Host. [SPEAKER_01]: He's Lord of the Angels. [SPEAKER_01]: He's Lord of Ball. [SPEAKER_01]: He's bringer over here. [SPEAKER_01]: He's going to say, what is his light? [SPEAKER_01]: Bane of demons. [SPEAKER_01]: Of the last archangel. [SPEAKER_01]: The golden warrior. [SPEAKER_01]: And the death that sores.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sores. [SPEAKER_01]: No one calls him Louis any more, though. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for your time, Louis. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to hit you. [SPEAKER_01]: literally no character has been more active, post-heracy in the Imperium than Dante. [SPEAKER_01]: A gaunt has a lot more books, but keep my gaunt was only alive for like a couple of decades.

[SPEAKER_01]: And at the time we are in the lore, gaunt is dead. [SPEAKER_01]: I assume. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell them off yet, but he'd been a thousand years old. [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, sorry. [SPEAKER_01]: They haven't called it out officially, but So with that though, we'll call this the end of the Dante coverage But it's a really good segue because we're gonna go from the most famous person in all of post-Harracy to the least We're doing the white scars [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, white scars.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna talk a lot about Horace Heresy and then have a like five minute episode of the after. [SPEAKER_00]: I like you guys to know that I was shocked as you are. [SPEAKER_01]: So when we cover the white scars, we're going to cover their origins. [SPEAKER_01]: Then through the heresy, then we're going to stop abruptly at the start of the invasion of soul and pick them up again post heresy because we're going to do a very heavy dive into the end of death. [SPEAKER_01]: And so I do a [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like I've been pushing for this for months now, but not when you're scared.
