Why Every Catholic Should Read Saint Bonaventure | Fr. Robert Nixon, OSB

Who was St. Bonaventure, and why does the Church honor him as the Seraphic Doctor? In this episode, Fr. Robert Nixon—Benedictine monk, scholar, and translator—joins Conor to explore the remarkable life of one of the greatest saints and theologians in Catholic history. From his miraculous healing through the intercession of St. Francis of Assisi to his friendship with St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Bonaventure combined profound holiness with brilliant scholarship. Together they discuss his spiritual writings, his reflections on Christ’s Passion in The Seven Last Words of Christ, and why his vision of prayer, wisdom, and union with God remains essential for Catholics today.
