#424 - Kyle Thompson // Find Your Telemachus

We use The Odyssey to show what happens when a home loses its protector and predators move in to take advantage of the weak. We connect Telemachus’s fatherless reality to Scripture’s fierce defense of widows and orphans, then challenge men to repent of small-scale “suitor” behavior and step into the gap.
• Odysseus’s absence and the suitors devouring the household
• Telemachus as a picture of a fatherless, undefended home
• Exodus 22 and God’s direct warning against exploiting widows and children
• Isaiah 1:17 as a command for men to seek justice and protect the vulnerable
• Fatherlessness as a present-day crisis with sweeping social consequences
• The uncomfortable mirror of benefiting from someone else’s lack of protection
• Two assignments: stop acting like a suitor and show up for a nearby “Telemachus”
Before you go, if you want to help equip other men for the fight, share this podcast around and leave us a five star rating and review.
