[SPEAKER_02]: Hello everyone and welcome to the Delta Flyers journey through the wormhole with corp, Dax and their good friends Tom and Harry. [SPEAKER_02]: Join us as we make our way through episodes of Star Trek Deep Space 9. [SPEAKER_01]: Your hosts for today are my fellow trek actors. [SPEAKER_01]: Tarefare or Terry Farrell.

[SPEAKER_01]: Armand Shimerman or Arsh Shim. [SPEAKER_01]: Robert Duncan McNeill or Robbie Duncan Mc. [SPEAKER_01]: And myself, Garrett Wong or Gawa. [SPEAKER_03]: And I also want to say for those listening that we have some sensitive topics today in this episode. [SPEAKER_03]: So you should listen or watch at your own discretion.

[SPEAKER_03]: We have scenes that discuss [SPEAKER_03]: suicide and the end of life. [SPEAKER_03]: So if anyone is triggered by that or has strong feelings about it, please be careful. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: There you go. [SPEAKER_00]: And if I may totally different, I was at a convention this past weekend and I want to thank all the Delta Flyer people who came up to me who were profits and watchers of the show.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you very much for attending. [SPEAKER_02]: I love playing our best fans ever. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm guessing the entire UK dominion is what they call themselves. [SPEAKER_01]: The profits that are the UK ones, they all showed up. [SPEAKER_01]: I think they didn't mess. [SPEAKER_01]: Didn't thank for you.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's good. [SPEAKER_03]: That's good. [SPEAKER_03]: Hey, Armin, how was Amsterdam? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, talk, talk to us about the Netherlands. [SPEAKER_00]: Talk to us, and we were overly impressed. [SPEAKER_00]: We had to go back. [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't enough time. [SPEAKER_00]: It was great that everything about it was lovely.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just gorgeous, city. [SPEAKER_00]: People were very nice. [SPEAKER_00]: The food was exquisite, and then we spent a couple of days in a smaller town called Delft, where the portion comes from. [SPEAKER_00]: or used to come from. [SPEAKER_00]: And that was equally as extraordinary, kiddie and not.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then we had a day in a camp and answered, Cooke and Hawke, if I think that's correct, which is 47 acres of tulips. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh [SPEAKER_00]: Gorgeous and there were thousands of people there, but it never felt that crowded. [SPEAKER_00]: It was crowded, but not that crowded But the tulips and it was the end of the season the tulips will magnificent.

[SPEAKER_00]: They took us Three million bulbs are planted every year to so that we could see what we saw [SPEAKER_02]: Wow. [SPEAKER_02]: Did they sell them? [SPEAKER_00]: They do sell them. [SPEAKER_00]: But for the most part, it's just them growing. [SPEAKER_00]: It's your pleasure. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's, it's visual.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's exactly why. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a perfect way to put it. [SPEAKER_00]: Visual pleasure. [SPEAKER_00]: It was, it was extraordinary in the different types of tulips and and the grounds are all landscaped. [SPEAKER_00]: It took an hour. [SPEAKER_00]: It was now outside of Amsterdam.

[SPEAKER_00]: We took a bus and [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god. [SPEAKER_00]: Why do you sell like a land on? [SPEAKER_02]: And that's way. [SPEAKER_00]: It was a good day of the dogs. [SPEAKER_00]: It was a good day to die. [SPEAKER_02]: After seeing, I'm glad you survived it. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: That's it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: You definitely have to go back again. [SPEAKER_01]: I always do. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I like being in New York in every language imaginable. [SPEAKER_00]: You could hear as we're walking around. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Visitors from every country that I can think of were there.

[SPEAKER_00]: You were just different languages all the time. [SPEAKER_00]: Everybody taking pictures, everybody with smiles on their faces. [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_01]: My three favorite destinations that I tell people when I go to Europe are going to be Czech Republic, Netherlands, and Iceland.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love those three countries. [SPEAKER_01]: There's so much so much to do and see. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm so happy you finally made it to the Netherlands. [SPEAKER_01]: It's definitely going to trip. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know when, but I'm going back. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and terrified and Robbie both of you need to go to for sure.

[SPEAKER_02]: I would love especially good. [SPEAKER_02]: I'd like to see I had a friend who went I don't think it was Iceland but it was somewhere high up and went in the winter and they stayed in [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, like this glass, I don't know. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, okay. [SPEAKER_03]: I just heard that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I would love to do that. [SPEAKER_02]: What a dream come true to just wake up and see the Orbori Alice. [SPEAKER_00]: I think I think you to the version want to create grandchildren there. [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, come on. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wow. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Amazing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Incredible. [SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_01]: Perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: Birthdays. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: I. Bays. [SPEAKER_01]: They're fair. [SPEAKER_02]: Jessica B is our first. [SPEAKER_02]: Jessica B. [SPEAKER_02]: Happy birthday on July 1st. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my goodness. [SPEAKER_02]: Happy birthday.

[SPEAKER_03]: Happy birthday. [SPEAKER_03]: Happy birthday. [SPEAKER_03]: Happy birthday, Jessica. [SPEAKER_03]: Have a great day. [SPEAKER_01]: Happy birthday, Jessica B. Andrea Wilson. [SPEAKER_01]: Andrea Wilson, July 2nd. [SPEAKER_01]: One day later, July 2nd. [SPEAKER_01]: Happy birthday, Andrea.

[SPEAKER_02]: And the party continues. [SPEAKER_02]: Happy birthday, Andrea. [SPEAKER_03]: Happy happy birthday Andrea, have a great day. [SPEAKER_01]: poetry synopsis time. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, poetry and animal biology. [SPEAKER_01]: The things today. [SPEAKER_01]: I guess I'm first and then tear fair and then robby then arm it.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's going to be the order today. [SPEAKER_02]: Nice to know the order of things. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it is. [SPEAKER_01]: It is. [SPEAKER_01]: Here's my high coup for rocks and shows which paramount plus has reversed by misstatte the titles or whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: Correct, even the order is the same.

[SPEAKER_02]: Different order. [SPEAKER_02]: Don't you think that's why they did that made that misstatte? [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_02]: But it was all looked around. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: We shot in a different order. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: Got it. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that can produce that.

[SPEAKER_01]: All righty. [SPEAKER_01]: Here we go. [SPEAKER_01]: Here's my high coup for rocks and shoals. [SPEAKER_01]: Crash landing stranded. [SPEAKER_01]: Dax injured. [SPEAKER_01]: Jim Hadar threat. [SPEAKER_01]: Voida. [SPEAKER_01]: Subterfuge. [SPEAKER_03]: Wow, you got all the plot points in there.

[SPEAKER_03]: I know, that's, you know how far that is that we're going to run. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, thank you. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: I have to say quark mission. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That's my alternate high coups and the line.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm thinking about that, but it didn't make the kind of sorry for it. [SPEAKER_02]: Work and worth up to you. [SPEAKER_01]: I know what you get to talk about that later. [SPEAKER_01]: Fairfare, let's hear your poetry. [SPEAKER_02]: My poetry synopsis is entitled Kira. [SPEAKER_02]: The whole way, it's smart.

[SPEAKER_02]: Don't make a scene. [SPEAKER_02]: Can't tell us apart? [SPEAKER_02]: The direction I lean. [SPEAKER_02]: My truth is hidden. [SPEAKER_02]: My heart is on fire. [SPEAKER_02]: My integrity for Ben. [SPEAKER_02]: I cannot remain an outlier. [SPEAKER_01]: Who's very kind of like that. [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.

[SPEAKER_03]: I really do like that. [SPEAKER_03]: Bravo. [SPEAKER_03]: Bravo. [SPEAKER_03]: I love that you feel just on here. [SPEAKER_03]: I too, because so did I in my palm. [SPEAKER_03]: You did. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: This is a really simple. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: That's crazy.

[SPEAKER_02]: We were on the same thing. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: It was too much going on. [SPEAKER_02]: And I just she stood out to me in this episode. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Me too. [SPEAKER_02]: Her performance. [SPEAKER_02]: Very nuanced. [SPEAKER_02]: I was very impressed. [SPEAKER_01]: Agreed.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it's actually perfect that I went first. [SPEAKER_01]: So I did the broad one, then you're more detailed and Robbie's going to go in even more detail here. [SPEAKER_03]: All right. [SPEAKER_03]: Here we go. [SPEAKER_03]: Here is my Limerick for what is this called rocks and rocks. [SPEAKER_03]: It's called rock and roll.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's not what it's about, but okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, here we go, with my lemric. [SPEAKER_03]: The Dominion demanded total control, submission of body and soul. [SPEAKER_03]: A carus stood fast. [SPEAKER_03]: She had learned in her past without freedom. [SPEAKER_03]: Life is nothing but a black hole.

[SPEAKER_02]: Nice, nice, nice, nice, nice. [SPEAKER_02]: Woo, woo, woo, you got it. [SPEAKER_02]: You got it. [SPEAKER_01]: Fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: Miss you all, Amen. [SPEAKER_00]: Can you give us a little help? [SPEAKER_02]: That's cool, would you?

[SPEAKER_00]: No, I will take you down a couple of notches. [SPEAKER_00]: So, all right. [SPEAKER_00]: So, ladies and gentlemen, we're rock. [SPEAKER_00]: is from the old French rock, or rogue. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, the definition, of course, is a large ragged mass of stone forming a cliff crack or natural prominence on land or at sea.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a second definition in a figurative or an illusion in usage, a source of danger or destruction. [SPEAKER_00]: That's pertinent to the episode. [SPEAKER_00]: Great, that third definition in on the rocks means quite destitute of means. [SPEAKER_00]: So those are the my three definitions like a boat on the rock, like a shed light of crotch against the rocks.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like destitute or if your life is on the rocks, it means that you are destitute that that you have no way forward. [SPEAKER_00]: I think like if my cocktail is on the rocks, it is delicious. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure there's their definite, that definition of the dictionary as well, but I didn't get it.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's just one of the two nouns in the title. [SPEAKER_00]: So the second noun is show, which is to me an interesting word, a word that we don't normally come across. [SPEAKER_00]: So a show is a place where the water is a little depth, it's a shallow, a sandbag. [SPEAKER_00]: or a bar.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was first used in 1375. [SPEAKER_00]: Shakespeare's famous quote about sholes is upon the bank and shull of time. [SPEAKER_00]: That's from the Scottish play. [SPEAKER_00]: It can also mean a mass of floating ice and the third definition is a water course, a harbor when it becomes shallow.

[SPEAKER_03]: A sand bar is a great analogy. [SPEAKER_03]: You [SPEAKER_03]: You mentioned that. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: The sand bar is kind of you. [SPEAKER_03]: You can't really see the ground under the very shallow water. [SPEAKER_03]: So you can be dangerous. [SPEAKER_03]: Can be dangerous.

[SPEAKER_03]: Can be dangerous. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Very dangerous. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Rocks and Sholes inform the name of articles for the US government, Navy, triggered swift and harsh punishment. [SPEAKER_02]: And this was changed in 1951, replaced by a uniform code of military justice.

[SPEAKER_02]: Swift and harsh punishment. [SPEAKER_02]: I guess that's in there too. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: That is there too. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: I just came across it because I thought I don't even know what this means. [SPEAKER_02]: What does the title mean?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And so what you explained is probably more accurate to what they were meaning, but rather than for mariners, rocks and shoals is a dangerous situation for them. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: My father was a big boater. [SPEAKER_03]: He always had boats, and he lived on the North Carolina coast, and would go out boating.

[SPEAKER_03]: And so sand bars and shoals, he used that word a lot, actually. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't say that? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because in that kind of environment where there's a lot of sand bars and the bottom is shifting a lot because of the tides and things like that. [SPEAKER_03]: So you can't count on [SPEAKER_03]: safe for the boat to be safe the next day necessarily.

[SPEAKER_03]: So you're always looking out for sand bars and shows not so many rocks down there. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but sand bars more shows. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, shows. [SPEAKER_01]: Great. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, thank you, Terfer, for adding that in there. [SPEAKER_01]: We appreciate that. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's go to the Patreon submitted poetry winner, and that is a Limerick submitted by Alex Ray. [SPEAKER_01]: Here we go, Alex. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Alex. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, Cisco and the crew crash on the sand. [SPEAKER_01]: Their enemies are also on this land.

[SPEAKER_01]: Kira struggles with her position. [SPEAKER_01]: Kivan makes a startling proposition. [SPEAKER_01]: In the end a terrible decision is left in Cisco's hand. [SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no [SPEAKER_02]: orders force men into death.

[SPEAKER_02]: Victory feels wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: Victory feels wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: Very good. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a strong line there. [SPEAKER_01]: I like it. [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks Charlie Faulkner. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you Charlie. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you Charlie. [SPEAKER_00]: But if I may, one of the pluses of this episode, [SPEAKER_00]: is that we're not quite sure if that victory seems wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: From Cisco's point of view, it's wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: From Garyx point of view, maybe not so wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: Correct. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I love about our show is that you get two points of view and you have to decide. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And how are you handle your integrity and your honor?

[SPEAKER_00]: That's right. [UNKNOWN]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And so they get to where she thought was, yeah, that's right. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, to me, one of the most honorable things in the episode is the Jempedar fighting to the death. [SPEAKER_00]: That's not on the behalf of the death. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which is an unlikely source for for Jempedar, which we are usually told are horrible people. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So, it's very nice that we've got the other side of the equation. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Meaning qualities for sure.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's admirable to see someone with unwavering loyalty like that. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just to keep going with the mission, even though he knew what was going to happen. [SPEAKER_01]: And you know what? [SPEAKER_00]: And most of the time, that's what Starfleet does. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: How many times have you, Terry, as your character or other characters? [SPEAKER_00]: Or you guys as well have volunteered for suicide missions. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'll do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll do it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It's unwavering loyalty. [SPEAKER_01]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: So this episode is written by Ronald E. More directed by good old Mike Vahar. [SPEAKER_01]: We have guest stars Andrew J. Robinson as Garic. [SPEAKER_01]: Fill Morris. [SPEAKER_01]: As remote the clan. [SPEAKER_01]: I got to be honest.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even recognize it. [SPEAKER_03]: Let's kill Morris for [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, everything about what he did for this role was so opposite of who he is as a person. [SPEAKER_01]: I felt that I really enjoyed his business. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel for a very long time. [SPEAKER_00]: It took me a, I knew he was in the episode, but it took me a moment to go, oh, that's still.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: It was the eyes that I had been remembered him. [SPEAKER_02]: I went, oh, yes. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a man. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's very funny. [SPEAKER_00]: We didn't episode a sign felt together. [SPEAKER_00]: He's very, very, very excited. [SPEAKER_01]: That is a famous episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's a really popular episode in the off-sign felt that he did. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, we also have Christopher Shee, who played Keeven. [SPEAKER_01]: He also played Salwyn in a Voyager episode. [SPEAKER_01]: Think Tank, Robbie, so we worked with him. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a great performance.

[SPEAKER_01]: Aaron is a burg as nog Paul S. X. [SPEAKER_01]: Dean as Lamar a son, but he also played more rock in the void rep. [SPEAKER_01]: So prophecy. [SPEAKER_01]: So we have a couple of guest stars who worked on Voyager as well here, Lily and Shoveon as Yazim. [SPEAKER_01]: Yazim? [SPEAKER_01]: Yazim?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: She's French. [SPEAKER_00]: Does anyone know? [SPEAKER_01]: I thought maybe French Canadian actually. [SPEAKER_01]: I was hearing a little bit of that, but possibly. [SPEAKER_01]: That kind of blended a little extra gravitas in a weird way. [SPEAKER_03]: I thought it was a good piece from Paris France.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, there you go. [SPEAKER_01]: She's French French, yes. [SPEAKER_02]: She's French French. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it did give more gravitas. [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know. [SPEAKER_02]: your arguments and again. [SPEAKER_01]: Next up we have Sarah McDonald as Neely and we have Joseph Fuqua who played Gordon and that is all of our guest stars.

[SPEAKER_01]: Did anyone have any comments about any of these guest stars that they wanted to share? [SPEAKER_01]: I agree. [SPEAKER_02]: We're excellent. [SPEAKER_00]: I agree. [SPEAKER_00]: I think they could have made better use of the last two, but they were all terrific. [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, if I may, if I may, they could have made better use of you too, Terry.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's lovely performance, but you're just not that you're just lying there, but you're lying there. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just lying there. [SPEAKER_00]: You had some cute lines, though. [SPEAKER_02]: I just couldn't have wondered though. [SPEAKER_02]: So I wouldn't have to be out in the sun.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, we'll talk a nice if I was injured in a way that I could have still been helpful like for my leg or yes, or she's just did some way to get you guys out of there or something. [SPEAKER_00]: Use your scientific mind, you know? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, how was my mind that worked out? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want a car pier because you're just seeing like I'm glad you were in the episode, but I thought to keep it more to do, give it more to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: My character seems to get that fate quite often. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: I had a little bit of trivia here. [SPEAKER_01]: Michael Dorn and Armin do not appear in this episode. [SPEAKER_01]: Although a scene in the script had war for rescuing the Starfleet crew aboard the IKS retarine.

[SPEAKER_01]: The scene did not get filmed due to the heat. [SPEAKER_01]: Temperatures were so high during filming [SPEAKER_01]: That's hot, making the cast and crew uncomfortable, makeup was melting, the souls on Steve Oster's hiking boots melted in the heat, and also later you will see the eyes of the Gemma's are on the close-ups of especially.

[SPEAKER_01]: Especially when you are looking at film Morris you can see the redness in his eyes because the makeup has dripped into his eyes and it's it's actually He's having an adverse reaction to that. [SPEAKER_01]: So therefore the red eye very interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah The original idea for this episode was from the 1965 Frank Sinatra film none but the brave [SPEAKER_01]: And the writers had dacks injured in the sub-sodes that Terry could avoid being in direct sunlight.

[SPEAKER_01]: Terry's already mentioned in other episodes that she can't have her skin exposed to direct sunlight, so that was part of what was written in. [SPEAKER_01]: Is that correct then? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm not really bad hyper-pigmentation at the time. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: It looked like it was just...

[SPEAKER_01]: And the side would have made it even worse, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And it was like a week, like part of my four. [SPEAKER_02]: It's gone now, but it was really bad. [SPEAKER_02]: And horrible at that age to have crazy looking skin. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure if they have spots on their skin.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, that's it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of funny. [SPEAKER_02]: It's just slapped on me. [SPEAKER_00]: It's awful. [SPEAKER_00]: You guys said, what's more, a lot of time, wouldn't it? [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, I just know it. [SPEAKER_01]: Just put the confidence. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: That was bad. [SPEAKER_02]: Every time we went on location, it was bad. [SPEAKER_02]: That was crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: The elements never, never cooperated with DS9. [SPEAKER_02]: So maybe film those episodes in this spring. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That would have been good. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, all right.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we start off this episode. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a captain's log. [SPEAKER_01]: O'Brien needs extra days to restore me in power, but they don't have that time because two gym and our fighters have found them. [SPEAKER_01]: And if you remember, they had just before this. [SPEAKER_01]: They didn't just blow up the catcher cell white facility, so they're getting away, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: So now, um, they are- They just they had a little reminder. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, a little flashback. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, just a tiny one because it just was where are we right now. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: They said at the end of the last episode that it's going to take us like 17 years and five markets to get home in post power, right?

[SPEAKER_03]: That's important to remind me of that. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I think so too, right before you're watching it. [SPEAKER_02]: But this is an explosive opening, which makes me really happy. [SPEAKER_02]: And I'd love that, especially for a science fiction show. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_02]: Open with a big bang.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Big bang. [SPEAKER_01]: So our heroes are still in the capture gym at our ship that they've been using. [SPEAKER_01]: We're in the control room now. [SPEAKER_01]: We have a Brian and Nog rushing to complete repairs. [SPEAKER_01]: I love the cussing that Nog starts doing the coffee.

[SPEAKER_03]: Chief of Ryan very funny. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, damn. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Did you hear we were out the damn jarred items? [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not trying, but the damn thrusters is very funny. [SPEAKER_03]: There's no Brian Skulls and watch him out. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: So as the Jemodar are bearing down on our heroes, Cisco sees a dark matter nebula on his cool headpiece. [SPEAKER_01]: Yorders dacks to pilot their damage ship into it at full impulse. [SPEAKER_01]: They take on fire from the two Jemodarships and there's a massive explosion. [SPEAKER_01]: which it's so huge, it blows DAX back so far.

[SPEAKER_01]: She knocks the railing that's behind her, off of its, do you know how hard that is to knock a railing that's actually bolted into a metal railing? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, so let's, let's imagine the bruise on my back. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, on your, every part of you, your back, your breath.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's some kind of padding on the, on that railing, [SPEAKER_01]: After the explosion, all systems are offline, emergency power has kicked in and they cross into the nebula. [SPEAKER_01]: The two gemma dar ships that were pursuing, they break off pursuit because they realize you just don't fly into a random nebula.

[SPEAKER_01]: You shouldn't do that. [SPEAKER_01]: We do see a super cool shot of the ship plunging down onto the planet. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a bits and amazing shot. [SPEAKER_01]: It's really [SPEAKER_02]: the whole beginning though. [SPEAKER_02]: He's been looking for the eyepiece. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and you're late.

[SPEAKER_02]: Seeing through the eyepiece, but it's also overlaid on top of whatever he's looking at. [SPEAKER_02]: So when you first see like hit up, you see me, but you also see the fighter jets. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Through that. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Through his little views.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: What's the word? [SPEAKER_00]: It's a word of I piece. [SPEAKER_00]: Get a word of I piece. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: But did you guys notice that the way they filmed it? [SPEAKER_02]: Jim Hedar. [SPEAKER_02]: No. [SPEAKER_02]: With a word of word.

[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: But if you notice the way that it was filmed, the way Mike Vahar filmed it, you could literally Cisco would look this way and you could see something. [SPEAKER_01]: Then he turned his entire body, his head to the other direction to see the ships coming in. [SPEAKER_01]: So literally that view piece, that view screen, it's super cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: Your view screen can be anywhere now, right? [SPEAKER_01]: You can look at virtual reality. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a VR. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like a VR. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's so cool. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I didn't wonder like when the gym and our ships stop and they don't go into the nebula Yeah, like we do fly into nebula's all the time Like this is You think they're suddenly scared of a nebula and then when when they start getting sucked down to the planet or whatever When she's crashing yeah crashing and this goes like chief what happened and a Brian Doesn't even answer his line is literally I don't know we must have been hit by some kind of [SPEAKER_03]: And then garrick interrupts him.

[SPEAKER_03]: So we don't even get the afternoon. [SPEAKER_03]: We don't know what happened. [SPEAKER_03]: They cut him off. [SPEAKER_03]: It was, I thought it was very clever. [SPEAKER_03]: It is. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, how can we avoid, yes, explaining this on and so that this makes no sense that we're.

[SPEAKER_03]: But we're crashing into a planet for no apparent reason. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, well, no, did you see the damage on the ship? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: It looks good. [SPEAKER_01]: We come back from commercial break. [SPEAKER_01]: Can we discover that a group of Jim Adar have also crash landed in the same planet with a beautiful shoreline shot. [SPEAKER_01]: And we have two Jim Adar in profile. [SPEAKER_01]: Nice, nice composition there.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think they do that. [SPEAKER_01]: Is that it? [SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no [SPEAKER_03]: So they stood them next to the lake.

[SPEAKER_03]: Do we know where they were filming? [SPEAKER_03]: Was it like pyru or do we know? [SPEAKER_02]: It was hang on. [SPEAKER_03]: Or anybody look it up? [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't look like pyru to me. [SPEAKER_02]: We were in Sun Valley, California. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, so then you guys wrap up. [SPEAKER_02]: We're not Cory, so we're there, can you?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you've been standing there for four. [SPEAKER_01]: they have filmed there before, yes. [SPEAKER_01]: But not the water part, normally we don't see the water. [SPEAKER_01]: Like before we filmed there, it was with a garrick and I think some other character and they were just trudging through the rocks and they see the water.

[SPEAKER_01]: Wow. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, go ahead Robbie, you were saying too. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, it's just a split screen. [SPEAKER_03]: So they filmed next to the quarry water and then [SPEAKER_03]: Dan Courier or whoever visual effects department would put in a shot of the ocean with the crashing waves sort of split split screen on the other half of the screen and there look like planet of the eight first.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: When the sheep sank, definitely. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my gosh. [SPEAKER_02]: How about that fire on the ship? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: The thoughts and go again. [SPEAKER_02]: Good work. [SPEAKER_02]: That's great. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: They look good.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: So the Jemodar are talking and we realize that when they crash landed, they lost a couple of their unit members and their voida who leads them is seriously injured. [SPEAKER_01]: So the conversation we meet, we need to meet the two, we see two, Gemma Dar, one is Romata Clon, played by Phil Morris, and the other one is Paul X-Thien's character, Lamarison, and they're just talking about what needs to be done, and they talk about how they're going to protect this planet, and they need to figure out a way to get their communications back up again.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the biggest problem. [SPEAKER_01]: They have no communications with the Dominion [SPEAKER_01]: How was it? [SPEAKER_02]: I got injured. [SPEAKER_02]: He got injured. [SPEAKER_02]: We only two days crashed before us. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm. [SPEAKER_02]: And number three.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bill. [SPEAKER_00]: Bill Morris sought. [SPEAKER_02]: His character said he's not going to be number one because he. [SPEAKER_02]: He questioned the vortex. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: About going into the nebula. [SPEAKER_01]: Hmm. [SPEAKER_00]: before going in because he knew it was not safe.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and he knew that he was wrong to do so. [SPEAKER_00]: It's very important to be at the show. [SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be at the show. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it is important. [SPEAKER_01]: Then we cut to a beach where we see nugs swimming ashore. [SPEAKER_01]: And I got to say Aaron Eisenberg with that prosthetic out his head.

[SPEAKER_01]: That is almost like an arm band or a floaty. [SPEAKER_01]: The actual, you know, it's so much foam. [SPEAKER_01]: That probably would have kept that latex probably would have kept him float. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just joking. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to make it joke. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_01]: It would have been filled with water. [SPEAKER_01]: He would have sunk. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Before I'm on trying to keep the makeup. [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: That's exactly right. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to keep the makeup clear. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my gosh.

[SPEAKER_02]: What a nightmare. [SPEAKER_02]: In the heat on top of it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, actually the water and he might have been all right, but but we're in the uniform and I think he had boots on as well, but but trying to keep the makeup out of the water, I thought this is a good thing. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think they probably just in terms of logistics would have shot the scene with him on the land, all the dialogue, all of that and the very last thing they would have done is said, okay, go get in the water and swim out because they don't remember the make up.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, I have to [SPEAKER_02]: I noticed that with certain shots that the the close-ups looked like they were shot either and more in the morning or towards the light. [SPEAKER_02]: I might turn in. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the light was very different from when they were in the two shot or the master.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: But that's how you do you can't shoot that stuff at noon. [SPEAKER_03]: No, right, no, too hot. [SPEAKER_02]: Or two, whatever the hottest point is. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I guess at all. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think I would have they would have finished with the swimming because I don't think he can work after that.

[SPEAKER_03]: He's got water in that in the makeup is no water and everywhere. [SPEAKER_03]: No matter how carefully it is, you're going to have to pull that off. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember what Aaron's next field. [SPEAKER_00]: I can't, did he, did he have a thing on the back?

[SPEAKER_01]: He always wore a thing on the back of his neck, but he did. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Did he have one in this scene? [SPEAKER_01]: No, did he? [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: He did. [SPEAKER_02]: He had it all the time. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: All righty. [SPEAKER_00]: That might have been shield.

[SPEAKER_00]: It wouldn't have gotten any water in it. [SPEAKER_00]: But if you've got the neck thing, the flange on the flag, yeah, that would have let water and air in both. [SPEAKER_00]: So then he could have been buoyant. [SPEAKER_00]: So then he could have been buoyant. [SPEAKER_00]: We could have backed really into our own energy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Only in TNG. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're whole cranium was so beautiful. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, to see the whole thing. [SPEAKER_03]: It would have been nice if they had had an alternative for you with a flange on it just for some air. [SPEAKER_03]: Like if you had a scene now and then where you could have a little more air conditioning in the back, it would have been nice.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it's your old holes. [SPEAKER_03]: You could hear. [SPEAKER_00]: No, they offered that one's Terry. [SPEAKER_00]: They offered. [SPEAKER_00]: They did. [SPEAKER_00]: They offered to put holes in the years, so I could hear better. [SPEAKER_00]: And I said, I turned to Karen and I said, how long would that take?

[SPEAKER_00]: She still probably had another half an hour to the make up. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no. [SPEAKER_00]: I had to be dead. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, so Garic helps nog out of the water and we cut to another scene further down the shoreline where Cisco O'Brien, but she here a couple of other crew members are dragging a shore this makes you fraffed with supplies and also an injured dacce who is very very Conveniently under a of a tentica to you to avoid this sunlight.

[SPEAKER_02]: I love my crew [SPEAKER_00]: But then they handled you like a sack of potatoes when they took you off of the rough. [SPEAKER_00]: No, I thought, wow, that they're handling it like she's a sack of potatoes. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know what? [SPEAKER_02]: Don't you hate it when you watch a TV show and it looks like the actors helping them or any show?

[SPEAKER_02]: It's like if you were that injured, then you would have to be completely trust that they're going to, yeah, or drag you, but it's got to look real. [SPEAKER_03]: definitely. [SPEAKER_03]: When they had the wide shot of the the raft getting pulled up and you can watch see it. [SPEAKER_01]: What were you going to say you can see the ship sinking in the background?

[SPEAKER_01]: Is that what you were going to say? [SPEAKER_01]: No, I wasn't going to say that that was very cool. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, but no, it was a couple of the I forget the characters names, but the female [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god. [SPEAKER_03]: That's a little too much. [SPEAKER_02]: They should all be on the same page.

[SPEAKER_02]: But it's like a swim thing from where the ship was. [SPEAKER_03]: It would be hard. [SPEAKER_03]: It would look like a modern dance move to me. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'm going to be I'm going to play devil's advocate Robbie and say that they be nearly in Gordon or just not as good swimmers.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so they were ingesting a lot of water. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to go with that. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's why the excessive movements there was a lot of water. [SPEAKER_01]: My dad's performed. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Performance art. [SPEAKER_01]: What I love about this scene is that after all this tension, especially from the end of last episode, and then the beginning of this episode, all the action, this likeness that happens in this scene where O'Brien is toward his pants, oh my gosh, it's just, it's a breath of fresh hair.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's almost like getting an oxygen, you know, an oxygen mask put on where you can actually breathe for a second, but a wonderful, wonderful scene. [SPEAKER_02]: That felt like an every column moment. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's so good. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_02]: at the time, the two of them. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're there a lot after together at the end. [SPEAKER_03]: It was like kind of a little bit insane. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes, you know, and I was very happy. [SPEAKER_00]: They included a lieutenant nearly in that laughter as well. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, yes, she did.

[SPEAKER_01]: She stopped her performance dance that she went into. [SPEAKER_01]: She did. [SPEAKER_02]: She was a part of way more with the two of them. [SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of sad. [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it would have made the group look more, [SPEAKER_00]: And the sacrifice of the ladies who have been doing meaningful if we had spent more time with them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, agreed. [SPEAKER_01]: Now we jump over to the station. [SPEAKER_01]: We're in Kira's quarters. [SPEAKER_01]: She wakes up at, I think it's over 500 hours when she wakes up or something like that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is her new station routine. [SPEAKER_01]: She gets ready for work.

[SPEAKER_01]: She looks at her face in the mirror. [SPEAKER_01]: She looks at the mirror. [SPEAKER_01]: She's smiling. [SPEAKER_01]: She's smiling. [SPEAKER_02]: Ready for the day. [SPEAKER_02]: ready for the day. [SPEAKER_01]: She goes into the turbo lift, which is filled with everyone but a pejorin, basically, is just Geminar and Cardassian.

[SPEAKER_01]: She gets to ops. [SPEAKER_01]: She sits down. [SPEAKER_01]: One, I guess, Cardassian, underling name, Mavic comes over and hands her her coffee, but everything is so routine friendly. [SPEAKER_03]: Very, very. [SPEAKER_03]: Thanks, Mavic. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Thanks.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's thanks. [SPEAKER_00]: It's very from me. [SPEAKER_00]: Very, uh, good. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: She's actually thanking him. [SPEAKER_00]: She's actually doing something nice to him. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Which is antithetical to where she ends up at the end of the episode.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And in fact, if I may, later Ron went when when when when when the image is mirrored. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Later on, he doesn't. [SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't say thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_02]: But she's compartmentalizing right now. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: To deal with this. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And she's trying to honor Cisco's orders. [SPEAKER_01]: Correct, but I almost got that feeling. [SPEAKER_01]: Robbie, what's the show where the people go into the office? [SPEAKER_01]: And they just, they just do this work. [SPEAKER_01]: And they're really, they're just sort of robots.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's all, it's the hidden agenda of like, they can't leave the place or anything like that. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the difference. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, to me, I had a severance vibe of her going to very much that she's all the little thing, doing her thing, right? [SPEAKER_01]: It was very, it gave me the heat of the heat a little bit, very mechanical.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that's my feeling when I saw that. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, now we jump back to the gem. [SPEAKER_01]: Hadar headquarters, their cavern, and we are introduced to the injured Vorda. [SPEAKER_01]: Keeven, which may be think of Kevin, which would have been a whole different episode if he was called Kevin, the Vorda.

[SPEAKER_01]: But Keeven is completely prone on a rock and very, very, very injured. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, very injured. [SPEAKER_01]: Big time. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Ramotaclon informs him that it will be 10 days before they can attempt to reestablish communications. [SPEAKER_01]: He also reminds Keeven that it's catcher so a white time.

[SPEAKER_01]: Keeven hands Ramotaclon one vile and informs the Jemodar that the white must be rationed in order to last for 10 days, possibly more than 10 days. [SPEAKER_01]: This is not a popular statement to the rest of the Jemodar. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm the lawyer. [SPEAKER_03]: I will take care of you.

[SPEAKER_03]: So, but I love. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I love the way the actor said that law and I will take care of you because the subtext that I read was he knows that there's not enough and that this is getting close to the end and he played that quite well. [SPEAKER_01]: I felt it. [SPEAKER_02]: I think his voice is a quality the way he spoke.

[SPEAKER_01]: Wow. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, his accent is the way he spoke. [SPEAKER_02]: I can't and no, that's not how he talks. [SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't say that. [SPEAKER_03]: I took a cue from Jeffrey Combs. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure I did. [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I think? [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure you're absolutely right.

[SPEAKER_02]: Of course. [SPEAKER_00]: You got to watch it. [SPEAKER_00]: When I started the Ferengi Max told me later on when he played a Ferengi that they sent him my performance to say this is what it's like trying to imitate that. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so I'm sure they did the same thing for Chris here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sure. [SPEAKER_02]: They had me watch next gen to see the the trail and I was in trouble. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: The trouble. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_03]: You played the trouble. [SPEAKER_03]: You've had a real good trouble. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's still impressive that Chris made it his own, even though he did obviously look at what Jeffrey comes and done.

[SPEAKER_01]: And again, the vocal quality, it was almost like he was from another era. [SPEAKER_01]: The way he was speaking to me, you know, it's some sort of a feat, you know, Vorta there. [SPEAKER_01]: It was the 20s or something. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, in a way. [SPEAKER_02]: Different languages almost.

[SPEAKER_01]: Most definitely are mixed with spirit, but you know what bothered me. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, nitpick. [SPEAKER_02]: move. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like the contact lens moved off to the side. [SPEAKER_02]: It made it look like he is one eye. [SPEAKER_02]: Everyone's in a while was a little bit wall eyed.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no. [SPEAKER_02]: It's just like, ah, I know what it is. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Otherwise, the makeup. [SPEAKER_01]: Good job, Megan. [SPEAKER_02]: More likely was outstanding. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I could not see this. [SPEAKER_00]: I really stared at the scene where the, with the fin, the deal.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I could not see it. [SPEAKER_02]: But you couldn't see the line. [SPEAKER_00]: You couldn't see any. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: He really looked like that was his face. [SPEAKER_02]: His real ear has gotten so good. [SPEAKER_02]: Or I think maybe Mike Westmore had to train them all to get so good.

[SPEAKER_02]: So getting better. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: It's gotten better and better and better as we've watched the show. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: the seams being gone. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Also about Chris She's voice, the vocal quality that he had, he was a voiceover actor.

[SPEAKER_03]: I think he was the voice of Linus on Charlie Brown. [SPEAKER_03]: What? [SPEAKER_03]: He probably was very good at Chris Shei was very good at hearing Jeffrey Columns and then being able to, as a voice actor, sort of impersonate that or translate that into his own. [SPEAKER_03]: his own.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I've never sent all he definitely made it to his own. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, different than Jeffrey, but the same menacing, menacing, manipulative quality, that calm, yes, yeah, all in it in such a way that it's just terrifying honestly. [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, we jump over to a scene in the Starfleet cave, and we come across our heroes, we're gathered around a campfire or a boulderfire.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do something about the boulderfire. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, with the phaser to make it right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's absolutely. [SPEAKER_03]: Make a rock so hot that it's glowing red and you throw any fabric onto it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to evaporate immediately, exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: But yet, they have laid all of their everything.

[SPEAKER_01]: Their long johns, their socks. [SPEAKER_01]: Everything is laid across this glowing boulder, which should have vaporized everything you're totally right. [SPEAKER_02]: It looks freaking cool. [SPEAKER_02]: It does look like a scene higher in space, which would not happen. [SPEAKER_02]: But it's okay because it's dramatic.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's like you're right here near the door at that point. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes, near near it like the heat and I just say you guys are Carping too much. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow the king of nitpick is calling us out on nitpick right now. [SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty funny But I will say I mean, it's a nice image is a nice size because it reminds you of those Himalayan salt lamps that you turn on, you know with the glow going on there.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I saw [SPEAKER_01]: I'll do you. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think they do anything. [SPEAKER_01]: It was fairly bathroom. [SPEAKER_02]: They were having a sound bath. [SPEAKER_01]: Is that what they were doing? [SPEAKER_01]: Sound bath meditation. [SPEAKER_01]: And but she's basically naked almost.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's a lot of skin being shown this scene. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't recall. [SPEAKER_01]: Right, we never had a spa scene. [SPEAKER_01]: In Voyager, Robbie, ever. [SPEAKER_01]: Who looks great? [SPEAKER_02]: Um, Neely, Neely. [SPEAKER_02]: Neely. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: you just had a face to wear.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she's on her. [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone looks very fit and you know, you're giving them to understand that you have no clothes on either in that suit. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a blanket. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I'm pretty sure we're in rest again. [SPEAKER_02]: Where we on stage 17 for all of that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I got lucky. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's so lucky. [SPEAKER_01]: So in this scene, Garrett tells a Brian that his sewing kit went down with the ship. [SPEAKER_01]: So he's not going to be able to fix his torn uniform. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, uh, there is a comment about how the ship is 500 meters and I started [SPEAKER_01]: Is that just her exaggerating because they that ship crash just off shore and it's 1,500 feet deep Now I thought there must be the Mariana Trench on that planet right off the shore It's deep it just gets so deep.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah And sure because we're on a mountain you are you are you're just on a promulventory of Island in the midst of the continent, but yeah [SPEAKER_03]: on it. [SPEAKER_03]: Did you like the running bit about Cisco talking to DAX like she's saying in a hotel? [SPEAKER_03]: I like that.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's cute. [SPEAKER_03]: It was cute. [SPEAKER_02]: I think it was a nice way to be we can keep hope and yeah, just a little lightness because what else are we going to say? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it is, the, the cutest line is I would like to logic complaint.

[SPEAKER_01]: This bed is as hard as a rock. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought that was so cute. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I want to pinch your face right. [SPEAKER_02]: If I was with it to have that happening. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it just not to see me kind of struggle to want to help. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: We would have felt more natural than, oh, I just. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll just lay here. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: And not even like the surgery is done. [SPEAKER_03]: Why does the Chevrolet uniform back on? [SPEAKER_03]: Why isn't she kind of starting to recover or product up or something?

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I can understand why that's not happening because the symbiont is injured too and he doesn't know. [SPEAKER_02]: And he also mentions, I like it when the story weaves into each other, there's another [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: So I probably shouldn't move because whatever those tiny stitches are, I'm sure I could blow them out just from coughing or Yeah, that's true.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think Michael stitches line was with the Ford. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, right. [SPEAKER_01]: And not. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's interesting. [SPEAKER_02]: I think you know what I'm performing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay. [SPEAKER_02]: Everyone that's the same. [SPEAKER_02]: Why would he have different stitches than me.

[SPEAKER_02]: He has to say, but she has the same equipment. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That's true. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we have a nice interchange between Cisco and DAX, very cute. [SPEAKER_01]: The hotel theme thing. [SPEAKER_01]: This year does tell Cisco that DAX and the Sybians should make a full recovery.

[SPEAKER_01]: They just need to rest in bed or on the rock bed until better on the rocks. [SPEAKER_01]: On the rocks. [SPEAKER_02]: Can I get a max on the rocks, please? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's a cocktail robby. [SPEAKER_01]: Make the decks on the rock, please. [SPEAKER_02]: That's all we need to do for our, um, uh, wrap party.

[SPEAKER_02]: Series 50. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, we're going to have. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to have. [SPEAKER_02]: Dax on the rock. [SPEAKER_02]: Our characters. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: It's all for our characters. [SPEAKER_01]: For our menu, the drink will be called the nitpicker. [SPEAKER_01]: And everyone will like, who is going to get a double order of nitpicker?

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: We are we are now jumping over to the shoreline where we have nog and garrick who are kind of surveying the area looking to see what's around there's not saying that he doesn't want to he doesn't [SPEAKER_01]: No, yeah, no, he doesn't want to it. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, we saw that episode where Garrick threatened to kill Nog and went after the Cardassian.

[SPEAKER_01]: What was it the web, the Cardassian drug that made all the Cardassians? [SPEAKER_01]: extremely violent. [SPEAKER_01]: So So Nog is worried he says I'm not going to keep I'm not ever I would never turn my back on you ever again. [SPEAKER_01]: Which Garrick actually appreciates and says you know there's hope for you yet kind of you know so he's he's impressed with Nog but they end up being captured by Gemma Dar who take turn off their shroud and immediately [SPEAKER_01]: take them back to the jem had already looked like the e-cag.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a tag you read. [SPEAKER_01]: So when you touch it, if you're looking off that combat, but it did look like tag you're it as well. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of funny. [SPEAKER_01]: The game of tag with the jem had are. [SPEAKER_02]: I like the shimmer when the jem had are. [SPEAKER_00]: Come into, yeah, yeah, the cloak.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of, there was a lot of special effects in this episode. [SPEAKER_00]: There's subtle, but there's a lot of them. [SPEAKER_00]: The ship going down in the water, the ship going down in the planet, the rock being heated up. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of special effects. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, is this the third episode in a row or fourth, where they really leaned hard on Dan Curry and his department and it is joyful to me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because they delivered the goods. [SPEAKER_01]: They did a great job. [SPEAKER_02]: I liked that when they spend money there. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we jump over the Jemodar cavern and we have keyven interrogating nog and garrick nog only responds with his name rank number But you know [SPEAKER_01]: But didn't you notice when he wouldn't answer and just respond to with his name, rank and number.

[SPEAKER_01]: Ramotta Klan pulls his knife out ready to literally end and Nog's life. [SPEAKER_01]: Or shut him up on one way or the other. [SPEAKER_01]: But it is garrick. [SPEAKER_01]: who sort of, you know, shuts him up and says, all the lies that he starts feeling out of his mouth. [SPEAKER_01]: His name is, is Karam, his name.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he's, he's actually a member of the old obsidian order. [SPEAKER_00]: He was captured by a star for the prisoner. [SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't he say his name is Kanar. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, it could not. [SPEAKER_01]: Is it Kerem, but it's Kenaar, then, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come

[SPEAKER_03]: Wow, he's pretending to be the other guy. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, pretending to be someone else period. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, I think tomorrow has a business opportunity. [SPEAKER_01]: He can create the Mars canar, like his very own line of Kardesian liquor. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, in this interrogation, Gary tries to lie, which he's basically busted because Kevin says, OK, so if you really are who you say you are, how do you explain this?

[SPEAKER_01]: And he pulls up the Starfleet Combat. [SPEAKER_01]: at which you get garyx as I was hoping you would ask about that, but then yeah, but yeah, it's not a very good cover, like, I think he's better. [SPEAKER_02]: I think he's perfect because he didn't see it coming. [SPEAKER_02]: I like it when characters that are always super clever have moments like that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I'm caught. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm caught and I tell you, it looks it feel more real. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Even does have one final question to Gary, and he says my final question to you is, is there a doctor in your unit to which Gary says, yes, immediately Nog is like, Gary, what are you saying?

[SPEAKER_01]: Stop talking. [SPEAKER_01]: And at that point, Kiva says, relax young man, you're that that comment is what saved your life right now. [SPEAKER_01]: What don't be so hard on him because now that I know there's a doctor now you two are worth something to me now. [SPEAKER_01]: And so and in that moment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what before Gary before Andy says yes, you can see in his mind very quickly. [SPEAKER_00]: He weighs that question. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and very quickly says yes. [SPEAKER_00]: So he knows it's measured. [SPEAKER_00]: It's measured. [SPEAKER_02]: It's measured quality. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he knows what he's doing and he's.

[SPEAKER_02]: doing it with thought. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, Armin. [SPEAKER_01]: Keepen then gets the Jimadar to take both nog and character a different part of the cavern. [SPEAKER_01]: And he dismisses all the other Jimadar in order to speak to a Monteclombia himself, which he does.

[SPEAKER_03]: You see, though, when when he says, Kevin says, take them to the secure area. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And one of the Jimadar picks Aaron up and Aaron helps. [SPEAKER_03]: Did you see that? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he jumps up. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll Aaron just leave. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_00]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_00]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_03]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_03]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_03]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_03]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_03]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_01]: He'll take too much.

[SPEAKER_01]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_01]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_01]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_01]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_01]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_01]: He'll take too much.

[SPEAKER_00]: He'll take too much. [SPEAKER_01]: Back to the cavern when Kevin gives Ramotaclon the next mission. [SPEAKER_01]: That mission is to assess the strengths of the Starfleet unit with specific orders not to engage them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Do not engage. [SPEAKER_01]: Just go and figure things out and see what's going on. [SPEAKER_01]: All righty, we jump to the back on the station. [SPEAKER_01]: We're in Odo security office, but we start with an exterior shot of the station first before we go to Odo's office. [SPEAKER_01]: And there are Jim Hadar fighters sort of passing or patrolling by in the background, which is really weird to see that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Every time we see the station, we see those fighters again, special effects. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, though, they changed it up. [SPEAKER_01]: So this time we see Gemma Darfighters in the background. [SPEAKER_01]: The next time we see the station, we actually see both Cardassian ships in the foreground and Gemma Dar in the background.

[SPEAKER_01]: So they did a couple of different shots there. [SPEAKER_00]: So visual effects did a great job in this episode. [SPEAKER_01]: So in this scene, Jake is in this scene and he's interviewing Kira and Odo regarding the current political stage, regarding the current political situation faced by Bajor, we do find out that a group of vorda facilitators are scheduled to head to Bajor to help out.

[SPEAKER_01]: Bajor has been having problems with getting supplies and whatnot, so the Dominion have offered [SPEAKER_01]: uh... the border to come and help out uh... jake brings up vittic jazams concern that the border presence basically amounts to the beginnings of a dominion occupation of bage or and jake says that the vettic has actually organized a demonstration tomorrow on the promenade which both uh... odo and kira have no idea about i i can't believe that neither kira nor odo knew about this for a protest march by [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you have the next day.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it just doesn't make sense. [SPEAKER_00]: You have to get permission. [SPEAKER_00]: You have to get permission to do things on the station. [SPEAKER_02]: And it would be the one, signing off on it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they wouldn't be able to not any more. [SPEAKER_00]: It would be way on and and.

[SPEAKER_00]: But what would have been our goal to cut. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, to cut and where you would have had that conversation in one of their whatever that media. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it's a part of it. [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't understand how they're in the agreements about this and and I mean Goldicott keeps a type type of touch right thank you thank you right on the show.

[SPEAKER_02]: I know that's what you were thinking. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you thank you. [SPEAKER_02]: You're a leader. [SPEAKER_00]: I will help you with it but you will write about [SPEAKER_01]: Jake ends up pushing a little bit too hard with his questions which then makes Kira and the interview session and Odo agrees and that's the end of that scene.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're out of that scene. [SPEAKER_03]: Jake at the very end of the scene, he then in the foreground turns to himself and goes wrong question. [SPEAKER_00]: And ironically for me, I actually thought those were great questions and I love the fact that Odo and Kira had it defend themselves in what was a less than perfect choice is that they had made.

[SPEAKER_00]: which is important to the rest of the to the amism, but I thought I thought his questions were really good ones. [SPEAKER_00]: Once I have often wanted to ask the characters myself, learn a different episodes and go, well, you know, why did you do this? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's always nice to see Jake in any episode. [SPEAKER_01]: So since he's not available in a lot of the ones we've reviewed so far. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: We jump over to Starfleet Cave Headquarters and O'Brien and Cisco are brainstorming. [SPEAKER_01]: The back.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: They're in the back. [SPEAKER_01]: Brian and Cisco brainstorm about how to establish communications as they discuss Gordon rushes in to report that both garrick and noggin gunmissing. [SPEAKER_01]: They haven't responded to any hails. [SPEAKER_01]: They don't know what's going on.

[SPEAKER_01]: So that jumps to the next scene where the search part will jump to the next scene. [SPEAKER_00]: What would it be nice for DAX to be in that discussion as well? [SPEAKER_00]: She's there. [SPEAKER_00]: So why not? [SPEAKER_00]: And she has often told us about how you, you can, you know, get communications up.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, well, yeah, she's right there. [SPEAKER_00]: Why not take advantage of her expertise? [SPEAKER_00]: Her knowledge. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, just a few lines for just a line. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Chief, did you try blah, blah, blah? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just one line would have been great.

[SPEAKER_01]: Agreed. [SPEAKER_01]: agree because you're not unconscious. [SPEAKER_01]: You're out. [SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm not. [SPEAKER_02]: It's only conscious. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, you're sick. [SPEAKER_02]: And you have the floor. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I've had COVID. [SPEAKER_02]: You could you still, you're still works.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you're slower or you're sleeping a lot. [SPEAKER_02]: Hey. [SPEAKER_01]: that would have been funny to have heard if you were going through the the fever and you were kind of delirious and you were just saying sending or saying random things in the background which would have been hilarious if you if you connect a banana to a chestnut it could you can use that as a wire to I don't just weird my guy or type comments in the background would have been funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: In addition to that it it decides possibly giving advice I would have liked to [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he has promised. [SPEAKER_00]: They made a big deal. [SPEAKER_00]: He has promised. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to get you out of here old man. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, we don't see the need any more to get a rather there at all have to get out, but not the need to take care of an injured old friend.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: But to that point, maybe it would have been better if I was even more injured or unconscious. [SPEAKER_02]: you know, she's in a coma now. [SPEAKER_02]: We don't know what's going on. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, anyway, then there's more. [SPEAKER_02]: We got to get out of here to save her life.

[SPEAKER_02]: The stakes are higher than that. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right. [SPEAKER_02]: Make the stakes higher. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: There you go. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, so now we're on the shoreline. [SPEAKER_01]: The search party is out there looking for Garic Nog and the, I guess, the tric order of nearly the text that GemmaDar or detects life signs up in the higher ground.

[SPEAKER_01]: And [SPEAKER_01]: Cisco asks, is it Jim Adara? [SPEAKER_01]: She said, I think so. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, sure enough, now we have a reverse angle. [SPEAKER_01]: We have the Lamarasan who cannot take the fact that there are enemy walking towards him without firing at them. [SPEAKER_01]: He does this.

[SPEAKER_01]: The actor does this, X-Teen does this, his body does this jerk before he's like, I can't take it. [SPEAKER_01]: So he's almost going through withdrawal symptoms. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just called a camp. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no white makes of a mean, uh, Gemma Dar. [SPEAKER_01]: That's for sure.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he takes the first shot and then the firefight just happens. [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone's shooting it. [SPEAKER_03]: Everyone else is just said it was how hot. [SPEAKER_03]: 126 degrees Fahrenheit. [SPEAKER_03]: 128. [SPEAKER_01]: 128 degrees Fahrenheit. [SPEAKER_03]: It's just so it's like I don't have a desert.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have to remember L.A. being that hot, getting that hot, but they were in sun Valley so they were in the valley, and they were hotter than the rest of that. [SPEAKER_01]: Like yeah, Malibu is not going to be one 28. [SPEAKER_02]: Making the wind stop. [SPEAKER_02]: That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like a thermo installation of mountain is what it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, or I can't imagine being that make up and in that costume. [SPEAKER_02]: They're getting that alone is just incredible. [SPEAKER_02]: Gob smacking at their amazing performances under his condition. [SPEAKER_02]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: And if you look at the GemmaDar uniforms, they're clothing.

[SPEAKER_00]: All that looks like it's trapping even more heat. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just like why they're using some other and it's just like, ah, too bad it wasn't made of gods, which is what they needed in 128 degrees. [SPEAKER_01]: My goodness. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, so as they're trying to, you know, fight this firefight continues, we do, we cut over to Rwanteklan, who is yelling at them, stop, what is going on and he's very angry.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is in the conversation between Rwanteklan and Lamar Sun, who is now very regretful that he did take the first shot. [SPEAKER_01]: You have a lot of close-ups back and forth, and you can really see Phil Morris' eye was left [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just, oh my gosh, it's just, it looks like he has pink eye, but that's again.

[SPEAKER_02]: It looks like it hurts really much. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And for him to just work through that pain, good for him. [SPEAKER_01]: Basically, after everything stops, that's when Remot's class says we're going to lace down some suppressing fire. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to withdraw.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I went all of you to shroud before you do it. [SPEAKER_01]: And then we realize no one can shroud. [SPEAKER_01]: They're just too weak without cuts without cutter cell white. [SPEAKER_01]: They can't do a lot of the things that they're normally used to doing. [SPEAKER_01]: And they get out of there.

[SPEAKER_01]: They hide tell it out of there. [SPEAKER_01]: Cisco does clock that. [SPEAKER_01]: Cisco's like, hmm, they're not flying. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, all right, Brian sees why aren't they kind of floods. [SPEAKER_01]: And Cisco then says, oh, maybe this is something that's going to be, you know, something that helps us out.

[SPEAKER_01]: And yes, we do learn that it does help them out later, because if you can't camouflage, you can't hide at all. [SPEAKER_01]: We're back at the Geminar Cavern. [SPEAKER_01]: back in the Dominion Cave headquarters, Keeven is furious that they disobeyed his order to not engage the enemy. [SPEAKER_01]: He wants to know who fired that first shot.

[SPEAKER_01]: Ramotaclan will not give up the name. [SPEAKER_01]: He stands firm and he says that the guilty soldier will be disciplined and that is my job. [SPEAKER_01]: He is not your job, but you command us, but it is my job as the leader of this [SPEAKER_03]: one of my guys more yeah he's even more honorable than that he said you can discipline me I just said that's right that's right that's what he said you know whatever you're going to do to that person do it to me I'm that I'm there later with so so into you know into this a co-actor yeah yeah he's got what you want to say about the I know such honor you're absolutely right Arman [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's by the book and really respects the rules and the structure and differs to that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he's been trained to do that. [SPEAKER_00]: So part of that is honorable part of that is just upbringing, brainwashing. [SPEAKER_02]: But he seems very intelligent. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And you're right. [SPEAKER_01]: As an audience, we don't want him to die. [SPEAKER_01]: We want him to love us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like this guy. [SPEAKER_01]: He's got some redeeming qualities about him. [SPEAKER_01]: We respect this. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: We have an exterior shot of the station. [SPEAKER_01]: And then we end up in Kira's quarters where she and Vedic heism are debating what needs to be done in regards to the dominion occupation.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they are not on the same page. [SPEAKER_01]: Kira does not see what Vedic heism can see. [SPEAKER_02]: Here also can't share what her orders are from Cisco. [SPEAKER_02]: I thought about that when I was watching this. [SPEAKER_02]: There is part of what she can't say. [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[SPEAKER_02]: And she's trying to honor those orders in the best way she can. [SPEAKER_02]: So I believe that's how she's compartmentalizing it and getting through it is just ignoring all the stuff that she used to see before. [SPEAKER_02]: That makes sense. [SPEAKER_02]: In the other occupation, because this is an occupation.

[SPEAKER_03]: It does seem like Kira's the way she's written and also the way that then I'll play as her in this story and in this scene in particular is very passive, which just like as a fan of the show and watching the show now with you guys, you know, it seems out of character to me, the way that Kira is behaving.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like snap out of it, come on, you're a fighter, go fight. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but at the same time we know her so well, [SPEAKER_02]: we know this is really hard for her and that's why anything that's that hard the only way to deal with it is just to keep moving forward and have those blinders on that's what I believe for watching this and I will differ with that uh okay to sense that in that first shot when she wakes up she smiles another day everything's fine it is the influence of Jake [SPEAKER_00]: and devetic, you know, that in making or taking the blind is off of her eyes and she's waking up to wake up three out of it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, absolutely. [SPEAKER_02]: But I think she needs them to shaker this much because she can't get through it any other way. [SPEAKER_02]: It's almost like an unconscious thing, but it can attend them to what I said. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like she's tuning out her instincts. [SPEAKER_03]: She has to just shut it off.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that makes sense. [SPEAKER_01]: I just want to say, I want to give Kudos to Ron Moore's writing when it's at the very end, Kira says, Vedic, you just don't understand. [SPEAKER_01]: Yasm says, you are right. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe tomorrow, we will both understand because I feel that Yasmording knows what Yasmording is doing.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: The way that's written. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, she does. [SPEAKER_01]: It's foreshadowing. [SPEAKER_02]: Probably seals it. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but it's conversation seals. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's sealed. [SPEAKER_01]: What you're going to do is he has to do something drastic And again, just the way the writers wrote that it's just I thought it was such a good job really Okay back to the bat cave as Robbie said [SPEAKER_01]: Cisco, Starfleet Headquarter Cave Headquarters AKA the Bat Cave.

[SPEAKER_01]: Cisco talks to O'Brien about establishing defense of positions. [SPEAKER_01]: Dax says she will stay in the cave and guard her clothes, which was very funny. [SPEAKER_01]: Nearly report, nearly reports that a Gemma Dar soldier has arrived and is requesting an audience with Cisco, Ramotaclan enters in the next shot with nearly guarding Ramotaclan.

[SPEAKER_01]: Interesting, it just brings Mothclone right into the heart of their bat cave. [SPEAKER_01]: Cisco dismisses Nileet to speak with Vermont's cloned alone. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, not really alone since taxes in the background recuperating. [SPEAKER_01]: Vermont's cloned a form Cisco that even wants to trade Garrick and Nog for the doctor in Cisco.

[SPEAKER_01]: Cisco then has this extremely long and interesting conversation. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a deep conversation, yes. [SPEAKER_01]: With Vermont to clung. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a really good scene. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I can feel that in being in film horses shoes, he must have thought, I get something to really work on and this scene.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, it's a good one between the two. [SPEAKER_03]: With Avery. [SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: And there's Dax laying in the background. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's all I can think of. [SPEAKER_03]: On her. [SPEAKER_01]: She's a close gardener clothing on her comfy rock bed.

[SPEAKER_02]: Whoo. [SPEAKER_02]: I like to know where my super handsome guy with the grapes is. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, from that other secret. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what you needed. [SPEAKER_01]: The holographic group, Giver and Fanner, is what it meant for Ryza. [SPEAKER_01]: So, for Ryza? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, in that conversation, Cisco does inform or tell Ramotaclan about a very manipulative fort who, in the end, was killed by the Gemma Darfurst that he was commanding.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, he's sort of putting a little bit of doubt into Ramotaclan's, and trying to see the [SPEAKER_01]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the right.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the right.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the right.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the right. [SPEAKER_01]: But sure, and so Cisco does in the very end, agreed to the trade, which will happen in an hour. [SPEAKER_01]: Next shot on the shoreline. [SPEAKER_01]: We start with an establishing shot of the sort shoreline. [SPEAKER_01]: And what a shot.

[SPEAKER_01]: We see them at a distance. [SPEAKER_01]: Talk about this, Robbie. [SPEAKER_03]: Talk about this. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, they were probably filming from way up on the top of the cliff on the long ones as there. [SPEAKER_03]: And I don't know if any of this dialogue was even scripted to the end of the day.

[SPEAKER_03]: I was going to say it was all ADR, afterwards. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it looked, it looks kind of the D.R. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but still, Robbie, we think of it as in Mike's. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I'd love this scene because if Voyager, we never used long notes, it's like that. [SPEAKER_01]: It's so, it's so, it's so, it's so cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's beautiful, really was. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think Mike or the location manager saw that strip of land so we have to use that something? [SPEAKER_02]: That's very possible. [SPEAKER_02]: I bet 100%. [SPEAKER_01]: So we go from that super, super long lens, then we jump over to another long lens.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is Romata clon and company releasing Gerek and Nog for the exchange. [SPEAKER_01]: Then they start walking now. [SPEAKER_01]: Now the shot is almost like, is if someone's looking through binoculars at them, it gets a little bit more close up, right? [SPEAKER_01]: With that longer lens.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And they do the cross. [SPEAKER_01]: And again, those comments definitely seem like ADR doctor. [SPEAKER_01]: Are you to all right, perfect? [SPEAKER_01]: How are you? [SPEAKER_01]: I felt better. [SPEAKER_01]: And everything was sort of done rush so that it would match their crossing because it happens very quickly.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I did enjoy seeing this scene. [SPEAKER_01]: It just looks so cinematic to me. [SPEAKER_01]: Really good. [SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_02]: Some things so simple, so well done. [SPEAKER_03]: The dialogue here doesn't feel like it drives the story forward at all. [SPEAKER_03]: It definitely feels like ADR to me.

[SPEAKER_03]: Just added. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know what, too, when Gary says, perfect, how are you? [SPEAKER_02]: I kind of, every time I watched it, I wanted Bashir to be at that level of humor and say, never felt better. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: I felt better. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: It's almost like he didn't play along with him, you know?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I wish you, they would have written it. [SPEAKER_02]: So he did because that would have been, I don't know, in character. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it is in character for Cisco to check out on two of his people being captured or you all right. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we're all right. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, of course. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just talking about the busier lines. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and also if we if it is 80 or like we're sarcastic. [SPEAKER_01]: Right, but if it is ADR and as we surmised, Sid could have had his ADR session before Gareth did, so he couldn't even hear how Gareth said it, so that could have affected his his reading.

[SPEAKER_01]: Back on the Promenade, on the station, Kira Nodo or on the Promenade, keeping an eye out for the protesters, it seems like nothing's going to happen, but Jacob arrives and informs [SPEAKER_01]: Sure enough, Yazim appears on the upper level, the promenade standing precariously on the outside of the railing.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we also notice there is a rope tied around her neck into the bar as well. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, into the bar. [SPEAKER_01]: She exclaims that evil must be opposed and leaps off the railing. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, this obviously was disturbing on many levels, but the first thing I thought of, and I can't be the only one, was that scene in the [SPEAKER_02]: So have we ever had a suicide on any of the Star Trek in the franchise before this?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, in TNG there was a friend of mine played a half alien half human who who jumped into this work court. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, so it has happened before. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my goodness. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: This is a little different than just suicide. [SPEAKER_03]: This is a protest.

[SPEAKER_03]: This is a protest to make a statement to wait people to wait people to wait. [SPEAKER_01]: It's definitely the way Kira up really. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it was very much directed towards her and the rest of the Bajorans who were kind of content with what, you know, status quo at this point.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: This is a very upsetting and and I think shot in a way that is visually, it's simple. [SPEAKER_03]: But Mike very hard did a great job of communicating the kind of shock and this and this slow motion of it Yes, sure that you don't miss it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but this is also a protest that this isn't a suicide for me is someone who's lost hope This person in this character has not lost hope.

[SPEAKER_00]: She's making a point [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Very true. [SPEAKER_02]: It is a protest and it sure wakes up Kira and I love how the shot on Kira in Odo Slomo. [SPEAKER_03]: Slomo reaction. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Because it what a beautiful choice to use Slomo.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's just in so important to use it. [SPEAKER_02]: Do you just do just judiciously? [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Armen. [SPEAKER_02]: Because it's [SPEAKER_00]: No, even. [SPEAKER_02]: I just look at it as we're like, you know, frickin frack. [SPEAKER_02]: We can help each other from time to time.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm for that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: I do think that Mike Bayhor handled that scene very well in terms of how we shot it, especially with just showing the feet at the end of Yasm. [SPEAKER_01]: And then talking to the hat and falling to the ground, that was the, that's all, that's all you need.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that hat really was the perfect little extra thing to have the final period into the scene like that. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was so good. [SPEAKER_03]: And I think your, your point, Armin, about it's a protest. [SPEAKER_03]: like that's really important here. [SPEAKER_03]: Like we have seen historically there's some very famous protests of people starving themselves like starving themselves or different ways in Vietnam.

[SPEAKER_03]: I think there were some monks over there. [SPEAKER_00]: There are monks who put them emulated themselves to make a protest. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh, that's better parallel. [SPEAKER_02]: That's very upsetting. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so the kind of get people's attention on this issue that this up.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, wake up. [SPEAKER_03]: This is so important that I'm willing to do something like this, drastic drastic to get people's attention. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, very moving scene. [SPEAKER_01]: Very effective scene. [SPEAKER_01]: Next, we're back at the Jemodar Cavern, the Jemodar Cave. [SPEAKER_01]: The evil bat cave, or the Joker's cave, Ramotaclon returns to the Jemodar Cave, the evil bat cave, with Cisco Embershier, Bershier scans Keven, and announces that he needs a immediate surgery.

[SPEAKER_01]: At which point, all the Jemodars start [SPEAKER_01]: But here things, they're trying to protect Keevin and Keevin's like, oh no, they're just curious. [SPEAKER_01]: They've never seen the inside of a vorta, which was kind of morbid I think, but you know, it is what it is. [SPEAKER_03]: The one thing I noticed in the scene was all around the little containers they had, are the dog food containers that we keep walters dog food in.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, this is the same, and I should be around screw on top. [SPEAKER_03]: It's the big blast. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, those are don't really fitters. [SPEAKER_02]: Did you notice too, and some of the scenes where we're hiding behind big boulders, that some of them look a little too dappled?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, five or glad bullies. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I do know that. [SPEAKER_02]: Perfectly, I just want to say this now. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: So Robbie did the dog ball scenes, put did the dog balls, kind of pull you out a little bit because you're like, those are exactly what we use a little bit in the same pull me out but they were using it to put like medical like to place things on and I know it's hard to place things on those containers because I've tried to do it before when I'm feeding the dog.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh. [SPEAKER_03]: And there's no one to put it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: So I was like, that's a really bad choice. [SPEAKER_03]: for a table type thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we jump back to the station and we are in Kira's quarters.

[SPEAKER_01]: She is going through the motions of her regular routine yet again, waking up, getting ready for work and treating the turban list. [SPEAKER_03]: No, so happy. [SPEAKER_01]: This is not as happy. [SPEAKER_01]: This [SPEAKER_01]: exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: With a new awareness, let's put it that way.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what she has. [SPEAKER_01]: She gets into that turbo lift filled with Jemodara Cardassians. [SPEAKER_01]: She's sitting at her obstation accepting the drink from Mavic but not thanking him. [SPEAKER_01]: She looks around ops and sees only Jemodara and Cardassians on every single level.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is as if Yazim sacrifice has opened her eyes and she gets up and leaves ops. [SPEAKER_02]: She sees it all with a new point of view. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yep, you see. [SPEAKER_02]: With her integrity. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And that point of view was brilliantly illustrated by Mike Feierhars, short clips of each of the different aliens.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought the way he did those inserts were just perfect. [SPEAKER_02]: And, and then I was directed beautifully as well for all of this. [SPEAKER_01]: Now we're back at the Geminar Cave, the Antibac Cave, and Keeven Regains Consciousness.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a level, level, bad cave. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not really evil. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that's where that's where the board is, but but we have to realize that some of the gym Adar have more of a rectitude as well Can I say the anti-batt case if the opposite of the other one? [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yes, you can see the Zaro.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_03]: Very simplistic in my You know, I'm thinking I'm very simplistic. [SPEAKER_03]: I need good guys and bad guys right and wrong [SPEAKER_01]: Keevin regains consciousness, post-surgery, and is delighted to be alive. [SPEAKER_01]: He dismisses his men to speak with Cisco and Bashir.

[SPEAKER_01]: He shows them that there's only one vile of Ketrasel White remaining. [SPEAKER_01]: And when it runs out, the Gemma Darb will turn into violent animals who won't stop until everyone is dead. [SPEAKER_01]: And then they will turn on themselves and everyone will die. [SPEAKER_01]: Keevin has a plan, though.

[SPEAKER_01]: He will send the Gemma Darb to attack in the morning. [SPEAKER_01]: He will give Cisco all the specifics of where and how they will attack, so that Cisco and company can ambush them and eliminate them, which Cisco is not happy to hear. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: That's cheating. [SPEAKER_01]: That's cheating.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Keeven says he will then surrender to Cisco and give him the communications array that needs to be fixed. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, the the Dominion, the Gemma Dark Communications Equipment, so that a Brian could work on repairing them. [SPEAKER_01]: and he will be a president of war and the jemodr comm system will help them get a hold of starfleet to get rescued off of this desert planet.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Mark. [SPEAKER_02]: Mark talk. [SPEAKER_02]: Mark talk. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, come true, old bid. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you don't have to sleep on a rock bed anymore. [SPEAKER_02]: He'll all the ways. [SPEAKER_02]: So next time I see the war, if I'm good and ready.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [UNKNOWN]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: That's just gross. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_01]: So Cisco listens to all this. [SPEAKER_01]: He's not happy about it. [SPEAKER_01]: But at the very end, Kevin does say, whether you decide to ambush them or not, I'm still going to send them tomorrow morning.

[SPEAKER_01]: So either you can kill them or you will be killed your choice. [SPEAKER_01]: So he kind of, you know, it's sort of a, he's got Cisco between a rock and a hard place. [SPEAKER_01]: There's not much he can do. [SPEAKER_01]: uh... we jump over to that's a good guy the bat cave is there we're back at the back of us are here this go brief the troops on the jemodard plan of attack uh... they will position themselves for the ambush uh... there's a little you know banter back and forth here uh... people are not sure about the ambush in the massacre but uh...

[SPEAKER_02]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_02]: Guess what, yeah, I think the Morales. [SPEAKER_02]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_02]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_02]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_02]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_02]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_02]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_01]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_03]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_03]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_03]: The Morales. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm deciding. [SPEAKER_02]: Yep. [SPEAKER_02]: This isn't about. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Now we jump to an exterior shot of the station.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is what I was talking about before. [SPEAKER_01]: Armand now we see both Jim Hadar and Cardass. [SPEAKER_01]: He has ships patrolling in the foreground and the background. [SPEAKER_01]: Super cool visual effect shot. [SPEAKER_01]: So now we're in the problem on the upper level.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it is Odo and Kira having a little conversation. [SPEAKER_03]: Are they in the spot we're nogging? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they are. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I like that. [SPEAKER_02]: It's easier shot. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yeah, on the promenade, there's and there was a loop around going over the overpass to the lower area of the promenade.

[SPEAKER_02]: And there was this great little spot that across, so you could shoot there. [SPEAKER_02]: So it was great to have the camera equipment there. [SPEAKER_02]: So you could shoot them in that spot. [SPEAKER_02]: I just think that spot. [SPEAKER_02]: was used a lot and for good reason because of their space for the camera.

[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it was a great, I don't know why I connected the Jake and I did too. [SPEAKER_03]: I did it now and sort of like that, that kind of a very fun connecting. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And then there's Otto and Kira doing it in that sort of emotionally connecting spot. [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was cool. [SPEAKER_03]: You were a menace. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it is a nice spot. [SPEAKER_01]: It is a nice spot. [SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, this conversation is really Kira talking to Otto about how she, her eyes are open. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, she can't believe she didn't really stand up that she's been going through the motions.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they resolved to actually go to a separate more private place to talk about planning the resistance. [SPEAKER_00]: And Odo takes a little language that he thinks that she's sort of including him and she's very adamant about the fact that no one, I don't mean me, I do not mean you. [SPEAKER_00]: On the one that told you to be part of that council.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, that's I thought very meaningful as well. [SPEAKER_03]: That's like the great, like in a broad way, Kira's talking about not being a collaborator, not being passive that she needs to fight, but yet her performance is so quiet. [SPEAKER_03]: I love the contrast in the very quiet way she strength and the conviction, the quiet conviction she's got, even when she's talking about fighting.

[SPEAKER_03]: You know, because it'd be easy to get into, you know, line readings like, well, you also was right. [SPEAKER_03]: I have to do something. [SPEAKER_03]: I have to do something and fight back. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, didn't do that. [SPEAKER_00]: But the last line in the in the scene is indicative of why she has to do it the way she did because they are in a very public place.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Even if there are no pharyngees in the scene, there are people who could over here that come here. [SPEAKER_01]: There's the Jemithar and Cardassan with the ears walking past us. [SPEAKER_02]: She's, she's had to look deep with in her self, especially with the Vedic, making such a protest.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure there's, there was a initial shame around it. [SPEAKER_03]: Sure. [SPEAKER_02]: After her conversation with the Vedic, and then witnessing, [SPEAKER_02]: the solution to make such a big protest that that had to wait super heavy on her. [SPEAKER_03]: Her decision is deep, rooted in her history and everything.

[SPEAKER_03]: She's already done that. [SPEAKER_02]: She knows she has to fight smart this time. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I like your choice a lot. [SPEAKER_03]: That's great. [SPEAKER_01]: No, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: We jump back to the shoreline and all of our heroes are in place. [SPEAKER_01]: They're hidden, ready to have all the Jemodark, uh, with our fake folders.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, your fake folders. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, the Jemodark walking down there in the low ground, they don't have the advantage. [SPEAKER_01]: And this is when Cisco yells out that he wants to talk to Romatt Clon, who agrees. [SPEAKER_01]: They meet. [SPEAKER_01]: And Cisco says he doesn't have to do this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Cisco says we have the jump on you. [SPEAKER_01]: This is, this is, this is basically the end. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it's, I didn't want to say that. [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, this is basically, this is going to be the end of this. [SPEAKER_01]: Jim had our unit and, you know, the whole thing Cisco argues he says, listen.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have a doctor. [SPEAKER_01]: We can sedate all of you. [SPEAKER_01]: Then when we get saved, we can put you in stasis. [SPEAKER_01]: So the catcher cell white withdrawal symptoms can be, I don't know if it negated, but definitely eased. [SPEAKER_01]: It's up to the point where they're not going crazy.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so he offers this to him, but Ramadakland doesn't take it. [SPEAKER_01]: orders. [SPEAKER_01]: He's still loyal. [SPEAKER_01]: And he says to the point that he was born loyal. [SPEAKER_01]: And that this is how he is. [SPEAKER_01]: He's this is internal wiring. [SPEAKER_01]: And he cannot get out of that.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to have to do what he's going to have to do. [SPEAKER_02]: I love how honest Cisco is here and straightforward. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And trying so hard to save their lives. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's sad, really, it really has come to respect Phil's character. [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_00]: We have come to respect Phil's character as well. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we want to live. [SPEAKER_03]: When Phil's character says, because this goes says, you know, you only need to give Stephen your unwavering loyalty. [SPEAKER_03]: And Ramonocon says, he didn't have to earn my loyalty.

[SPEAKER_03]: He had my loyalty from the moment I was conceived. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm Jim, he's forwarded up. [SPEAKER_03]: That's the order of things. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you're like, wow, that's crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that further line that he says, yeah, it is not my life to give up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Captain, it never was. [SPEAKER_01]: It was like, oh my goodness. [SPEAKER_01]: Wow. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: He's committed. [SPEAKER_01]: He's definitely committed. [SPEAKER_01]: I just love the writing here. [SPEAKER_01]: When Francisco does return over to the rest of his rest of his party, O'Brien says, what do you say?

[SPEAKER_01]: Francisco says all the wrong things. [SPEAKER_01]: Again, the writing here, I just love it. [SPEAKER_01]: We flash, we flip back over to Ramotaclan, who turns to his men, his troops and says, our death is glory to the founders, and he just starts running at full speed. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just, it just makes you want to cry.

[SPEAKER_03]: really it's just to say he's just going to die. [SPEAKER_03]: They get all taken out in a flurry of phasers and dust and like the clouds of dust. [SPEAKER_03]: That was cool. [SPEAKER_03]: It disappeared into the dust. [SPEAKER_02]: It was. [SPEAKER_02]: I have this recollection that those rifles, those gigantic rifles that we have.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, didn't they have like a like a big shoot. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, not just one shot, but didn't they have like an array that comes out. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you mean like a wide dispersal pattern. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, probably do a setting like that. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, maybe that would look too. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Get a little bit like a shootout. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like a shootout then a gaddle and gun that takes off. [SPEAKER_00]: Take them all out in one second. [SPEAKER_02]: I think those rifles are capable of that kind of juicy.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I think you're right. [SPEAKER_00]: I would have shot them coming forward. [SPEAKER_00]: Is this supposed to shooting them from behind? [SPEAKER_02]: I agree. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the tiny, tiny little thing that I would disagree with my radar. [SPEAKER_00]: Shoot them coming at the camera as opposed to them leaving the camera.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and add that shot later, but not as the opening shot to them charge the week. [SPEAKER_02]: So we can see the condition in their faces. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, after all the smokers cleared, all the gemidar are now dead and Gordon poor Ensign Gordon is also dead.

[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't even get to see how he passed, but he's gone. [SPEAKER_01]: Francisco does order Lieutenant Nile to form a burial detail, so he wants to bury all the Jemondar because he's now, I think you're right. [SPEAKER_00]: I think you're right. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought the second time I thought is the burial detail for everybody or is it just for Winston Gordon?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's probably for everybody, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Just go. [SPEAKER_00]: It's probably for everybody. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: And his respect wasn't remarkable on two, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so we're going up. [SPEAKER_02]: But I think that's great.

[SPEAKER_01]: And all those rocks. [SPEAKER_01]: That makes thing Gordon's going to get his own spot. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, that makes sense. [SPEAKER_01]: It makes sense. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, whenever those things happen, I think, look at the landscape, who's going to be able to dig that?

[SPEAKER_03]: Great. [SPEAKER_03]: Thanks. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's to peat seriously. [SPEAKER_02]: It should be more like a Viking funeral. [SPEAKER_02]: Like just let them light them on fire and put them onto the ocean. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: You've got that raft that they fish. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_03]: There it is. [SPEAKER_03]: There it is. [SPEAKER_02]: There it is. [SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, listen to how morbid we are. [SPEAKER_00]: It is it is I think a disappointment not nothing wrong with the episode, but a disappointment we didn't get to know Gordon better.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he just seems like a red shirt that is is just a shock. [SPEAKER_00]: And even when we see the the battle [SPEAKER_00]: They shoot out of the OK crowd. [SPEAKER_00]: They, the, the Jemodar only get one or two shots off before they're, they're all gunned down. [SPEAKER_00]: So one of those original shots has to take Gordon out.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I, I wish we had heard from Gordon or someone. [SPEAKER_00]: We get a little bit on, on Knox face, but of how, how dangerous this is. [SPEAKER_00]: And, and that he gave his life for this. [SPEAKER_00]: And he didn't have to die if it feels character had agreed to being sedated and put to sleep.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think that's what Cisco was aiming for, is to keep anyone from dying. [SPEAKER_00]: Not just his men, but for 100%. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, very much fought for them to be alive. [SPEAKER_00]: But I would have liked to have seen some regrets, some pathos over Gordon's death, which is a tiny bit of, yeah, but I would have liked to have seen the loss of one of his main effects is go a tiny bit more.

[SPEAKER_01]: I agree. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's it, everyone. [SPEAKER_01]: We are coming to the end of this episode. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about themes, slash lessons, slash moral of the episode. [SPEAKER_01]: I guess we'll start with armin, Terry Robby, then myself.

[SPEAKER_00]: Theme. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Stick to one's moral compass. [SPEAKER_00]: That's one. [SPEAKER_00]: Two. [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of time, a moral compass, is all that separates a hero from being a villain. [SPEAKER_01]: Wow, I like that. [SPEAKER_02]: I do like that tear fair fight smart for keep your integrity.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, nice. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but it's very much like almonds. [SPEAKER_02]: Although I feel like yours was very eloquent [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, Robby. [SPEAKER_01]: What is it? [SPEAKER_01]: What is your name? [SPEAKER_03]: I want you to listen. [SPEAKER_03]: My lesson and I wrote down true freedom requires the freedom to choose.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, amen to that. [SPEAKER_03]: Because it's, yeah, it's our, it's our, uh, jump at our, yeah, not really having freedom. [SPEAKER_03]: He does have integrity, but what broke my heart was, he didn't feel like he had the freedom to do to make his own choices. [SPEAKER_03]: And I think that tied into Kira's journey as well.

[SPEAKER_03]: She did decide to, to maybe not follow her orders, exactly or whatever, and she had the choice. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Very good. [SPEAKER_01]: My lesson comes from Nog, and that is never turn your back on garrick. [SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
