[SPEAKER_02]: Hello everyone, welcome to the Delta Flyers, journey through the wormhole with quirk, dacks, and their good friends, Tom and Harry. [SPEAKER_02]: Join us as we make our way through episodes of Star Trek Deep Space Nine. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that makes me think of kindergarten. [SPEAKER_00]: What was that song, bright Chinese faces?

[SPEAKER_00]: You're all in places. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can't remember. [SPEAKER_03]: Good morning to you. [SPEAKER_03]: Good morning to you. [SPEAKER_03]: We're all in our places with bright Chinese faces. [SPEAKER_03]: This is the way we start a new day. [SPEAKER_02]: I clearly did not go to this.

[SPEAKER_02]: What grade was this? [SPEAKER_02]: When did this song happen? [SPEAKER_00]: It makes me think of kindergarten. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So it's early, right? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, please, Google. [SPEAKER_02]: Like super early. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's definitely American because my, for me, you know, first grade in the middle, right? [SPEAKER_02]: For Muda. [SPEAKER_02]: So British school system. [SPEAKER_02]: They do not sing that in the British school system. [SPEAKER_00]: There are two series. [SPEAKER_00]: They're very serious about the school.

[SPEAKER_00]: It made me that was like, um, um, was a toxic positivity back in the 60s. [SPEAKER_00]: It was like, you know, we're all, we're all, we're happy. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, so tonight, people enjoy doing your feelings. [SPEAKER_03]: Do you guys remember up with people? [SPEAKER_03]: What was that?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: They like traveled around. [SPEAKER_00]: They came to my school. [SPEAKER_00]: We did that. [SPEAKER_00]: We did that play. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and it was a play and they had to like a traveling group. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_03]: It was like positivity. [SPEAKER_03]: They didn't visit British schools.

[SPEAKER_03]: No, that. [SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: But in a way, I think it's good that we had that to survive. [SPEAKER_02]: I have to tell you guys, British grade school was the hardest thing. [SPEAKER_02]: It's safe for me. [SPEAKER_02]: No, this is what they would do. [SPEAKER_02]: They would say, this is your homework for tomorrow.

[SPEAKER_02]: The teacher wouldn't teach you about it beforehand. [SPEAKER_02]: He would, you are forced as a student to try to figure out your own, for the next day. [SPEAKER_02]: So my parents told me when I came home from school, I immediately started doing homework. [SPEAKER_02]: I would stop for dinner, then I would continue to do a homework.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I did probably five hours of homework every night, something like that. [SPEAKER_02]: Wow. [SPEAKER_02]: Crazy. [SPEAKER_02]: For the opposite. [SPEAKER_03]: I went until the morning and I'd go on the bus and I'd be doing [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god. [SPEAKER_00]: By the city, I didn't get to have that.

[SPEAKER_03]: You want to school five miles barefoot in the snow? [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: Actually, I think it was a mile, but two miles to high school. [SPEAKER_00]: Before I got my license, that's... Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I was in great shape, which is how I got down the diamond run.

[SPEAKER_00]: Also, it was crazy enough at 15 to take. [SPEAKER_00]: It was an elective, but I took an elective where all we did was run. [SPEAKER_00]: What? [SPEAKER_00]: All we did was run. [SPEAKER_00]: Running out. [SPEAKER_00]: Did you get a grade for that class? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: And I, of course, got an A.

[SPEAKER_00]: Of course you did. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, we'd sprint and then run and then jog. [SPEAKER_00]: But it was all about just conditioning. [SPEAKER_02]: Wow, have you heard of such a thing, Robbie? [SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_03]: No, that's pretty cool. [SPEAKER_03]: I took the elective Napping class.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's a great thing. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_02]: Three days. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no. [SPEAKER_02]: I know that. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my gosh. [SPEAKER_02]: But it's been an all seriousness, Robbie. [SPEAKER_00]: What is that? [SPEAKER_02]: A bizarre study hour study hour study hour.

[SPEAKER_02]: What bizarre elective did your school offer? [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, every school has one thing that people are like, oh, that's kind of... [SPEAKER_03]: Well, the first thing that pops my head, so in high school, they had this class called impact, and it stood for something. [SPEAKER_03]: You had to take a test, and if you were considered like, [SPEAKER_03]: extra smart or something, you got in this class where you could do self-directed studies.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: Is this high school? [SPEAKER_03]: High school. [SPEAKER_00]: So I tested it. [SPEAKER_00]: I just like that too. [SPEAKER_00]: My mom did that. [SPEAKER_00]: You do one class and it was super intense. [SPEAKER_03]: And you could get what you studied. [SPEAKER_03]: You could kind of come up with your own plan for the semester.

[SPEAKER_03]: And then you would do a report at the end of that semester. [SPEAKER_03]: It was very, very expensive. [SPEAKER_03]: No, but it was the class that smart people, if you got in, you knew that you could kind of wing it and make it up because you were deciding what you wanted to say. [SPEAKER_00]: How do you know so much about this if you weren't in this elective class?

[SPEAKER_03]: I wasn't the elective class. [SPEAKER_00]: I got it. [SPEAKER_03]: I got it. [SPEAKER_00]: Because you're so freaking smart. [SPEAKER_03]: I was okay. [SPEAKER_00]: I tested it well from far away and went, oh, hi smart people. [SPEAKER_00]: You're like my son. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not smart and then breezes through and you're like, I'm sorry.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're not smart. [SPEAKER_00]: But you don't study really and you get AIDS. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not quite sure how that works. [SPEAKER_03]: I did not study. [SPEAKER_03]: We'll also calculate how much homework I was bad. [SPEAKER_00]: Matt, Matt, no, Max would wake up first thing in the morning and rush through it, but here's the thing, he's the kind of guy in high school, he would mathematically figure out, you know what, I don't really need to study that I can get a D and we'll still get a B in the class.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, he's that guy. [SPEAKER_02]: He's didn't already see the matrix, but I don't even need it. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow, but it was like actually it's really smart. [SPEAKER_03]: It's clever. [SPEAKER_03]: It is very clever. [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like I was clever in school. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I bet you were that was smart, but I was clever.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think you have to have a certain amount of intelligence to be that clever, too, and be relaxed about it, because he's relaxed about it. [SPEAKER_00]: I would be, uh, impact. [SPEAKER_02]: That's so cool. [SPEAKER_00]: It's called impact. [SPEAKER_03]: It was an elective, and you could come up with your own study.

[SPEAKER_03]: Of course, I always studied theater or something like that, and you could also get out of other classes if you got a note from your impact teacher. [SPEAKER_03]: When to the teacher and you said, hey, I've got to go, I want to go [SPEAKER_03]: do this thing around my study. [SPEAKER_03]: Can you write me an excuse?

[SPEAKER_03]: And so you could get out of us. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god. [SPEAKER_03]: It was like all the time. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it was great. [SPEAKER_03]: I loved impact. [SPEAKER_03]: You couldn't do it till you were junior in high school. [SPEAKER_03]: So I did it my junior in senior year. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I left at the end of my junior year. [SPEAKER_03]: I left in the middle of my senior year. [SPEAKER_03]: drop out. [SPEAKER_03]: Twinsies. [SPEAKER_03]: I stayed. [SPEAKER_03]: I stayed. [SPEAKER_01]: I should have dropped out. [SPEAKER_03]: No, I wish that I stayed. [SPEAKER_00]: Me too.

[SPEAKER_03]: Me too, especially. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm okay then. [SPEAKER_00]: At the time, I felt like I was missing out. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, me too. [SPEAKER_00]: And they're all bonded to have your senior year is a really bonding. [SPEAKER_00]: You have so much time off. [SPEAKER_00]: I am you talk about colleges and all of serious real things.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm sorry that both of you did not have that experience. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you probably still have friends from all of that. [SPEAKER_02]: I just went to my 40th high school reunion. [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, this was the last past year. [SPEAKER_02]: What's cool is, [SPEAKER_02]: There was a dude that showed up that left our school due after junior year to go to another school.

[SPEAKER_02]: So he didn't even graduate with this, but he showed up. [SPEAKER_02]: His name was Durand Jones. [SPEAKER_02]: I had to give him a shout-out. [SPEAKER_02]: He actually came to Vegas with his wife. [SPEAKER_02]: He was here for a convention. [SPEAKER_02]: So I met them for breakfast. [SPEAKER_03]: We have a birthday.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's Heidi McClullins birthday on May 7th. [SPEAKER_03]: Heidi, happy, happy birthday. [SPEAKER_00]: Happy birthday, Heidi. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh, and so close to it's the beginning of spring, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's me, it's me, the lusty month of May. [SPEAKER_02]: Happy, happy, happy, happy birthday to Heidi.

[SPEAKER_02]: McLean, happy birthday to you. [SPEAKER_02]: May is a wonderful month. [SPEAKER_02]: It is the best month to visit a lot of places, I think. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I love what spring. [SPEAKER_02]: We all, yes, that's the time. [SPEAKER_03]: Vundabha, as I say. [SPEAKER_03]: Vundabha. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, happy birthday, Heidi.

[SPEAKER_03]: Here is my limited for soldiers of the Empire, a cling-on whose heart has grown cold. [SPEAKER_03]: Thought his bravery and courage had grown old. [SPEAKER_03]: Yet worth helped him see, who he still could be, [SPEAKER_00]: I freakin' love that, soldiers of the Empire. [SPEAKER_00]: Truth, bear and honest, strikes our ego hard, forcing action to protest, victory sings the bard.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, victory sings the bar. [SPEAKER_02]: I like that ending. [SPEAKER_02]: That's nice, dope. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, sir. [SPEAKER_00]: Really, that's what Armin might like that. [SPEAKER_02]: Armin would like that, too. [SPEAKER_00]: It's from the Witcher. [SPEAKER_00]: That's where I watched the Witcher.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, really? [SPEAKER_00]: They when first came out and that guy who's the barred, this is one of those poems where I started to think really hard about it. [SPEAKER_00]: And then I thought, don't. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's about it. [SPEAKER_00]: And then I just wrote that down, but honestly, it was one of those lucky, oh my gosh, I did them 15 minutes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yay. [SPEAKER_03]: I know mine came quick this time, too. [SPEAKER_02]: Isn't that great? [SPEAKER_02]: Here's my high coup for soldiers of the empire. [SPEAKER_02]: Mar talk in lists, warf. [SPEAKER_00]: love it. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: Nice. [SPEAKER_02]: I had a very theatrical as well.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that made that took me up at the end. [SPEAKER_02]: Did it? [SPEAKER_00]: A little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But I know both men. [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, I mean, there's that duality to knowing the actors personally. [SPEAKER_00]: for decades. [SPEAKER_03]: We also have a Patreon submitted poetry winner.

[SPEAKER_03]: One of our new segments that we started last episode. [SPEAKER_03]: I like the segment. [SPEAKER_03]: I like the segment. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I get to read it. [SPEAKER_02]: You get to read it. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Patreon submitted poetry winner. [SPEAKER_00]: The minute by ferroza meta, broken warriors, caution, wrestles with custom honor is restored.

[SPEAKER_03]: Well, no, it was a very nice. [SPEAKER_03]: I like that a lot. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I like the cost. [SPEAKER_03]: I like this with custom. [SPEAKER_01]: I like it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Great. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for Rosa. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for Rosa.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was great. [SPEAKER_00]: And thank you to all of you who added this. [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_03]: We've got a round of try. [SPEAKER_03]: Everybody's poetry skills. [SPEAKER_00]: Pretty cool. [SPEAKER_02]: It's pretty cool. [SPEAKER_02]: It's fun. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Now, let's just give you a little bit of background here.

[SPEAKER_02]: Ira had requested that Ron Moore write a story that was a Star Trek episode, but with all cling-on characters, it was also very important to Ron Moore that each cling-on was given. [SPEAKER_02]: individualized personality and look, you know, general, the prosthetics were the wigs, whether they were wearing, because if you noticed, there's a blonde cling-on, there's a red-headed female cling-on, they really, short-cropped hair cling-on guy.

[SPEAKER_02]: His hair was like, the shorter hair, right? [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair.

[SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_00]: Short hair.

[SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair.

[SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_02]: Short hair. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my gosh, that's Rick Worthy.

[SPEAKER_03]: I never put that together. [SPEAKER_02]: Ron's original idea for this episode was for Wharf and the crew of the guitar and to answer a distress call from a cling-on colony. [SPEAKER_02]: When they arrive, they find all of the inhabitants missing. [SPEAKER_02]: Nearby is a lake surrounded in a mysterious fog and when they approach it, a boatman a boatman appears and takes them to the entrance of Grethor.

[SPEAKER_02]: Once inside, they meet a friend of Martox who wants them to take him with them and then they meet worse father, Moge. [SPEAKER_02]: There were a number of reasons that this particular story never made it into production. [SPEAKER_02]: Firstly, I was even bare felt that the episode was trying to accomplish too much, showing both the realistic day-to-day operations of a Clingon bird of prey and a mythic journey to the afterlife.

[SPEAKER_02]: Bear also felt it was too late in season to do such a philosophical show dealing with life, death, and hell. [SPEAKER_02]: which is funny because the episode before was overly ambitious probably in dealing with depression and dementia and every so I find that kind of, yeah, they're kind of in a area of the season where the writers are trying to do too much.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, some of these episodes. [SPEAKER_00]: And they're exhausted, like we are. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they really are. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, they get to go home earlier than us, but it doesn't mean they don't go home and continue writing working. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but the funny thing is, is he did get to use that afterlife story later on.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, we did. [SPEAKER_02]: barge of the dad. [SPEAKER_02]: Do you remember that episode? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm figuring out after life. [SPEAKER_02]: And so yeah, and it was written by Ron Moore. [SPEAKER_02]: So that's how funny. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think a lot of our episodes and I don't haven't watched enough of your show to feel those details are really ambitious and we don't have enough time to really get into the story in a way that would be satisfying for.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: us when we're watching it back. [SPEAKER_00]: We want more and maybe that's one of the reasons people keep tuning in. [SPEAKER_00]: They want more. [SPEAKER_00]: They want to know more. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel that way when I watch shows. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And their good shows is just but you didn't go deep enough.

[SPEAKER_00]: Go for that. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a 10 different ideas, but yeah, this up. [SPEAKER_02]: So it was directed by our friend Levar Burton guest stars. [SPEAKER_02]: David Graff, as Leskit, Rick Worthy, as Kornin, Sandra Nelson, as Tavanah. [SPEAKER_02]: Aaronizer, yes, James. [SPEAKER_02]: Aaronizer, Burgers, Nog, J.G.

[SPEAKER_02]: Hertzler, as Mar talk, and co-stars, Scott Leva, as Ortecon. [SPEAKER_03]: We'll jump right in, so we start off in the infirmary. [SPEAKER_03]: And I have to say, this was a wonder. [SPEAKER_03]: This whole opening scene was one shot. [SPEAKER_03]: I went back and watched it. [SPEAKER_03]: I was like, there has to be a cut in here.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's a long scene. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, a long, but it's a real even clock that. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I didn't either get the pulls out. [SPEAKER_00]: That shows you how to hold the shot. [SPEAKER_03]: It pulls it back in and then it pulls out again. [SPEAKER_03]: But it's a two shot through the whole.

[SPEAKER_00]: The third button is smooth. [SPEAKER_03]: It was very smooth. [SPEAKER_03]: I will say, though, you know, usually an opening scene, you want to grab the audience's attention. [SPEAKER_03]: And by making it a winner, [SPEAKER_03]: I felt like it was a little flat if I'm being honest as we go through there's a lot of scenes that are either one or one direction and everybody sort of like in a like the theater sort of facing the same way.

[SPEAKER_02]: So different from what you've not what you've known Levard do not. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But what I love. [SPEAKER_00]: is that he is creative and draws outside the box and he has an intention with every episode. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's not like he has a formula that you're always seeing the same thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: It seems like he really used his opportunity on deep space nine, two, check out how we, yeah, experiment, how what [SPEAKER_00]: What works and what doesn't work and I really admire that. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, what I admire is Terry when you said Lavar is smooth Because when you said that when you extended your valves on smooth I immediately went to the Music video for Michael Jackson smooth criminal and I just imagined Lavar in that version dancing around to smooth criminal [SPEAKER_03]: It's a little sidebar.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's a little sidebar. [UNKNOWN]: It's a little sidebar. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a little sidebar. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a little sidebar. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a little sidebar. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a little sidebar. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a little sidebar. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a little sidebar. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a little sidebar.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's a little sidebar.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's a little sidebar. [SPEAKER_03]: at the very end of the scene and heads out. [SPEAKER_00]: And they had a bit of a laugh. [SPEAKER_00]: I liked that. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: When Bashir scolded him about the blood on the carpet. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: You can see the cling on kind of push back and pride here.

[SPEAKER_03]: And but he gets a call that he's got a cling on high counsel. [SPEAKER_03]: Phone call. [SPEAKER_03]: He's got to go take so he leaves. [SPEAKER_03]: And then we go up to the bridge. [SPEAKER_03]: It starts with warf working under the console and then comes up to reveal. [SPEAKER_03]: He's talking to Nog.

[SPEAKER_03]: Another scene where there's no coverage. [SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't go back to work. [SPEAKER_03]: It stays on nog, which is very funny because you see you feel a warf giving instructions off camera and nogs literally like ringing his hands. [SPEAKER_03]: He's so frustrated with works. [SPEAKER_00]: It was so cute.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think, wow, he did such a great job in this scene. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, Aaron is so good. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was really his scene. [SPEAKER_00]: He stole it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he did. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Marchaka arrives. [SPEAKER_03]: The high council is ordered him on a mission.

[SPEAKER_03]: Warflearns, and then nog awkwardly leaves in the sea. [SPEAKER_01]: That was hilarious. [SPEAKER_02]: Can I just just slip out between you got it? [SPEAKER_02]: That was just so. [SPEAKER_02]: But that was so Aaron though. [SPEAKER_02]: That's something like Aaron would say it to me. [SPEAKER_02]: If you know Aaron off camera, that's Aaron.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It definitely was. [SPEAKER_02]: So he's graduated. [SPEAKER_02]: Is that right? [SPEAKER_02]: because there was never said there was no celebration there was no mentioned in any episode no just graduated start from the academy and all sudden he's working on the station now and they called a cadet so is he like on leave or furlough i don't know i think in the scene where he was assigned as a as a cadet he was assigned to ds9 because remember he had the Cisco scenes and he was [SPEAKER_03]: So he's maybe this is his apprenticeship.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's what I would get. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, all right. [SPEAKER_02]: His summer internship. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what he has exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: Some of his Asia. [SPEAKER_03]: Now, Gleeves, we learned that Warf injured Martoc, that it wasn't on the holiday. [SPEAKER_03]: They were both kind of covering for the fact that they were actually fighting.

[SPEAKER_03]: And we learned that the battle cruiser Bemoth is missing, and Martoc is going to go find them. [SPEAKER_03]: and he asks Worf to join him at the end of the scene. [SPEAKER_00]: The B. his first officer and the look on Michael Dorn's face and was face. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the bride was just blasting at us through his eyes.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we go to Cisco's office, Cisco wants to know why Worf wants to go so badly. [SPEAKER_03]: Um, and Worf explains it wasn't in his official report, but [SPEAKER_03]: uh... at the prison camp martox saw him fighting saw that he was ready to give up and just let himself be killed at warf was ready to give up and works as he gave me his warrior heart he could see what i was doing and he gave me the strength of the fight [SPEAKER_03]: and not give up from a look.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I remembered that from that episode. [SPEAKER_00]: And I thought that was great. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what happens when you know somebody so well they can read your mind or you're both so connected in whatever you're doing that you don't even need words to know what somebody's doing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Doesn't he call it, he calls it something like a moment. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Tova dock. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I read it down in here. [SPEAKER_02]: A moment of tick talk is what he had. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: A moment of clarity, where without a moment of clarity between two clingsons, without words.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, wow, powerful. [SPEAKER_03]: Worf is invited to be his first officer, not just his first officer, but Marthuk says my friend too. [SPEAKER_03]: So we really see the bond that's in the respect between the two of them. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so when Worf explains this, Cisco relieves him of his Starfleet duty and assigns him to detach service with the cling on.

[SPEAKER_03]: So he lets him go. [SPEAKER_03]: Cisco at the end of that scene says couple, [SPEAKER_03]: And we're response with Kapla back. [SPEAKER_00]: So that was the first time I ever heard Cisco say Kapla. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that I remember. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think so. [SPEAKER_03]: I almost feel like Cisco had more like playing on energy in his couple of than even Michael did.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I think it was kind of like. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I like this interaction now in this episode between Cisco and Warf. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Because [SPEAKER_02]: Let's face it. [SPEAKER_02]: There have been past episodes where Cisco is screaming and yelling at war for just pissed off or But it's not yelling just giving him dagger eyes, you know, just for just it's so it's so nice that he's, you know, kind of He's a bad thing.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's doing it. [SPEAKER_02]: And he's an alter of clinton and the character himself is allowing Warf to go off on this non-star fleet mission. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's face it. [SPEAKER_02]: He is Starfleet. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that would be like somebody in the U.S. Army going, okay, I'm going to go fight before this other foreign country.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I would be the French Army for a couple for a couple weeks, and I'll be a French soldier. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's, and also you have to, we're, we're relieving duty. [SPEAKER_00]: You have to relieve me from Starfleet. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: So now he doesn't have to abide by Starfleet.

[SPEAKER_03]: Principles or regulations right which DAX reminds him later we go to quarks next But quark is not in the scene cure comes in she's got the new duty assignments While warf is gone and nobody likes it well DAX explains it's not a vacation for warf She explains how clingons are ruthless On their ship.

[SPEAKER_03]: There's always you know, they're always jocking for power and Respect and and it can get rough [SPEAKER_03]: And that's when two rough points are going on. [SPEAKER_03]: And I'm serious in this. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a serious in this. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: You talk about it like there are a bunch of pirates. [SPEAKER_03]: You describe them as a gang of ancient sea pirates. [SPEAKER_03]: Who says that? [SPEAKER_01]: Dax is that? [SPEAKER_03]: Miles does actually. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Miles does. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: But remember her closest host, previous host was Curson who was in Rapture over the Clingons.

[SPEAKER_00]: He lived it. [SPEAKER_00]: He loved it. [SPEAKER_00]: He, you know, was a passion for him to be with the Clingons. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_00]: So she has that, now she's been integrated enough, yeah, that is, that it's just, she shifts without effort into Kurson's point of view.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and they talk about like why they could, you know, try to take seniority or, you know, that they, that they advance and rank by killing someone else or challenging another [SPEAKER_03]: The reasons they could do that is dereliction of duty, dishonorable conduct, cowardice.

[SPEAKER_03]: So you're already kind of setting up cowardice is definitely a thing that you'd be taken out for. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I really noticed that the second time I watched it, like, ah, right now that makes sense. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, all the dots are connecting here. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, a couple of rough clingsons enter Odo's following behind them.

[SPEAKER_03]: And Odo tells everybody, you know, for now these guys are okay, but look at that one guy, he's wearing a necklace of Cardassian neck bones. [SPEAKER_03]: Did you see that? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I did later. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I noticed it right away.

[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it looked weird, but I didn't put it together obviously until Odo says something. [SPEAKER_00]: Neck bones. [SPEAKER_03]: They were on this house. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: It's disgusting. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like be walking around with, you know, when they would shrink heads.

[SPEAKER_00]: It'd be like, oh yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: But if I missed it entirely, I feel other people missed it entirely, which means it wasn't focused. [SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't shot in a way that it was supposed to be presented, no, in a way. [SPEAKER_02]: They were trying to set them up a certain way of surviving multiple Jim Hadar attacks, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: So they haven't won won, but they've survived, which makes them toughened and hardened. [SPEAKER_02]: And that's one of the reasons, one of the things I was even bear was not satisfied with this episode. [SPEAKER_02]: had as much content as he wanted to, right? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: There were a lot of wide shots, a lot of wide, like medium shots, not even wide, like just kind of medium in the middle shots. [SPEAKER_03]: Like three or four people, yeah, or work in the middle and everybody behind him, which, yeah, as opposed to some close ups, it was all very kind of middle of the road, which would be a criticism I have of the way that this episode was shot, I felt like there wasn't [SPEAKER_03]: a variety of, you know, moments that were intensely emotional or right inside in somebody's head.

[SPEAKER_03]: It was all kind of in the middle. [SPEAKER_03]: That's my feeling generally about it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so there's some rough looking clangons around and we go to the airlock. [SPEAKER_03]: This is where warf is heading to the Rotarun and the same. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, awkward to buy, seeing Dax's following him, uh, he says, okay, well, goodbye, and then goes in the airlock and Dax walks right in behind him.

[SPEAKER_03]: Basically, she's coming. [SPEAKER_03]: He's the new science officer on the, uh, she's clearly funny. [SPEAKER_00]: So he goes, I do not want to long goodbye. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I was planning on it and then he doesn't even say anything. [SPEAKER_00]: He just pauses for him.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then he's just a good. [SPEAKER_02]: He says good and then he just walks away from you, right? [SPEAKER_00]: It was like, yeah, but it was sort of like a comedy, like, um, I don't know, bringing up baby. [SPEAKER_00]: It felt very kind of comedy driven. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, old fashioned way, but it's refreshing.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is. [SPEAKER_03]: You guys are fun to watch this relationship. [SPEAKER_03]: It really is fun to watch. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so, so DAX is gonna be the new science officer. [SPEAKER_03]: She said she'd clear it with Martoc and Cisco. [SPEAKER_03]: Or like, why didn't you tell me she goes, well, it's more fun this way.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know, right? [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: So DAX. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: And she's excited. [SPEAKER_03]: She's like, we're gonna have fun on this mission. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, we go to the Klingon Bridge and Dax is at her station, but she knows this is a couple Klingons staring at her.

[SPEAKER_03]: She turns around and goes, Boo! [SPEAKER_03]: And scares them and they jump back. [SPEAKER_03]: So, she's not afraid of these Klingons. [SPEAKER_03]: She's not intimidated. [SPEAKER_03]: by these pirate clingsons. [SPEAKER_03]: We meet Tevana, this female clinging on, who I loved. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she was great.

[SPEAKER_00]: And also was great to have another woman with me. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, yay, I'm not just with the boys. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's tough as a guest start to enter off of a hearty laugh. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, that brings you into the scene. [SPEAKER_02]: You better be bringing it.

[SPEAKER_02]: You better be there. [SPEAKER_02]: The very first moment present. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, but she's like, I'm bringing it. [SPEAKER_02]: Or else you're never going to catch that wave. [SPEAKER_02]: That surfing wave. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, you can't. [SPEAKER_00]: I think they all jumped on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, she was she was particularly great because very different personality in the rest of the crew. [SPEAKER_03]: They're all kind of grumpy pirates. [SPEAKER_03]: She seems more approachable. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I thought she was great. [SPEAKER_00]: And also she's engineering.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm science. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're women in a male predominant of what it picked the hierarchy of clingsons. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But we're tough enough. [SPEAKER_00]: But we still have our femininity. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like we're hard, but we are tough. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I just want to very quickly just to go back to the boot to your comments, Robbie, about how middle of the road choices of shots. [SPEAKER_02]: right there. [SPEAKER_02]: It was too far back. [SPEAKER_02]: It's got to be, you know, if the boo wasn't as effective either because of how far back it was, it just seemed like, why would you do a wide shot of that?

[SPEAKER_02]: It's so dark in that ship. [SPEAKER_02]: Come closer. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was super dark. [SPEAKER_02]: That's his face. [SPEAKER_02]: I want to see dax his face. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, where I get scared because like I want to be scared as the audience too. [SPEAKER_02]: It brings yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: And if if he just went in tight on you, [SPEAKER_02]: That darkness would have, you know, that would have happened to their reaction. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, I didn't think there was any coverage. [SPEAKER_02]: Land on me. [SPEAKER_03]: No, you turned. [SPEAKER_03]: We were on your back.

[SPEAKER_02]: And it was tiny. [SPEAKER_03]: It really was small. [SPEAKER_03]: I bet it was this. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I bet it was. [SPEAKER_03]: I like that, um, Tevanna knows curse of curse on Zach Dax, because of her mother, but he really loved in a biblical way, uh, Tevanna's mom. [SPEAKER_03]: It sounds like, and quite a lot.

[SPEAKER_03]: And it a biblical yes, right? [SPEAKER_00]: What did she say? [SPEAKER_00]: He was taken by her. [SPEAKER_00]: And this curse on the very person was taken by many people. [SPEAKER_00]: and she says so was my mother. [SPEAKER_00]: So that was a great bonding commonality between the two of us.

[SPEAKER_00]: A nice little joke. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that was important. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I do do have that connection. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I do too. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, Wolf comes in and takes control of the bridge. [SPEAKER_03]: He wants a mission plan. [SPEAKER_03]: Coranan gives the mission plan.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, everybody's very disrespectful. [SPEAKER_00]: Toss is it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Worf's trying to be very traditional. [SPEAKER_03]: And this crew is just a mess. [SPEAKER_03]: The crew seems very unruly. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: We learned that they've had no victory. [SPEAKER_03]: It's at all.

[SPEAKER_03]: They lose every battle. [SPEAKER_03]: And Worf says he's going to restore honor to the ship. [SPEAKER_03]: That's when Marta comes in, very traditional, cling on, captain taking charge of this bridge, they go through these sort of formal cling-on traditions. [SPEAKER_03]: Marta says he wants to go around the Nebula to avoid the dominion, doesn't want to have to confront them.

[SPEAKER_03]: Let's get this very rude, I thought. [SPEAKER_03]: And let's get in this, all these scenes, I wish they hadn't done this. [SPEAKER_03]: He's leaning back. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And it looks like, [SPEAKER_03]: And that was sort of the office and if where he's at his Yeah, yeah, he's got his pot belly hanging out.

[SPEAKER_03]: He's like Whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like a pirate. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but I wish I was a pirate on the awful word. [SPEAKER_03]: Physically, I just weren't. [SPEAKER_03]: It leaned forward and was ready to like rebel or something as opposed to just the lazy, you know, [SPEAKER_02]: You know what's so crazy, Robbie, that is such an easy fix, isn't it?

[SPEAKER_02]: It's just the angle of posture, it's all it is, yeah, that's all that needed to be changed. [SPEAKER_00]: But in your head, the intention needs to be, we've been here through all of this. [SPEAKER_00]: And you guys are coming in, Lilla, Polyana, Supercopy, and you are way out of sync, you're not.

[SPEAKER_00]: you know, you're not taking the temperature of the room. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, Leska's very rude. [SPEAKER_03]: He's leaning back very disrespectfully with his pop belly hanging out. [SPEAKER_03]: And, uh, martix says, no, let's go around the nebula. [SPEAKER_03]: So, uh, [SPEAKER_03]: We can tell that the crew's not behind it.

[SPEAKER_03]: Warf starts singing in this, as they head out, Warf starts singing, sets up this rhythm by hitting the console, and dags joins in. [SPEAKER_03]: Then the rest of them join in, but not very enthusiastically. [SPEAKER_03]: They're not into this. [SPEAKER_00]: Can I say something really fun before we did this scene?

[SPEAKER_00]: And we had an area where we could sit, you know, how sometimes they had the big benches. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: We had benches out. [SPEAKER_00]: So all of the clingsons and myself, and they had someone teaching us this song, I thought I would never forget it. [SPEAKER_00]: cannot remember it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even watching it, it ticked me off that I couldn't just recall it. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: It was so much fun and super bonding for all of us. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think we shot it very close to the beginning of the shooting schedule because that made us all feel like a team. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you must have been seeing it for like half an hour while they were setting [SPEAKER_02]: First heard in the CD-ROM adventure, Star Trek Klingon, which also featured J.J. Heartsler, though, not as Mar-Talk, enters Star Trek canon in this episode. [SPEAKER_02]: Of the scene, when the return crew break into song, Assistant Director B.C.

[SPEAKER_02]: Cameron said, [SPEAKER_02]: quote everybody saying all the background players the extras the crew we had big cards with these clinging these words written on them for the actors to read for days that's all you'd hear on stage people singing this battle song. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, it was a really fun episode to do they were all great actors Everybody was game.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was it was really great. [SPEAKER_00]: And then of course Lavar always has this very calm yeah upbeat positive and he smelled like lavender as he always did at that time And it was just he was so much fun. [SPEAKER_03]: He was so class smooth shoot [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's a classy man.

[SPEAKER_03]: We go to the Klingon mess hall next. [SPEAKER_03]: Dax comes in and pulls an officer out of his seat, one of the Klingons, throws him, you know, on the ground, throws him back to the back of the table. [SPEAKER_03]: She's a bad ass, basically. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_02]: I, the logic, I didn't understand this because the whole thing is, [SPEAKER_02]: thrown out because this is my chair.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, wait a minute. [SPEAKER_02]: This is the first time you guys sat down to eat. [SPEAKER_02]: How is that even your chair to begin with? [SPEAKER_02]: You didn't sit there. [SPEAKER_03]: Or it's probably like 15 goes at the head of the table. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably a tradition. [SPEAKER_02]: The hierarchy of the round kiss will be this. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: That makes sense. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I loved getting to do that because that was so curves on. [SPEAKER_00]: It was cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: It scared me. [SPEAKER_03]: Then you get into the food. [SPEAKER_03]: We learn that dinner is stewed, [SPEAKER_03]: What? [SPEAKER_00]: What? [SPEAKER_00]: How about that? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, doesn't taste for, it doesn't smell fresh. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this is mother. [SPEAKER_02]: Which means you've already eaten that in the past.

[SPEAKER_02]: Curse on. [SPEAKER_02]: So you've had it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, Dax tastes it says it's not very fresh, but rat liver, but with a little blood wine, it would be delicious. [SPEAKER_03]: Leska says, we don't have any blood wine. [SPEAKER_03]: She goes, oh, really? [SPEAKER_03]: My brought three barrels of board before we left deep space now.

[SPEAKER_03]: So she's, you know, impressing this rowdy crew a little bit with [SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to, she's trying to get it home. [SPEAKER_00]: She's not only everyone. [SPEAKER_02]: She's not only the science officer. [SPEAKER_02]: She's the party officer as well. [SPEAKER_00]: How do you get on the good side of a clingon?

[SPEAKER_03]: Blood wine. [SPEAKER_00]: Blood wine. [SPEAKER_00]: And plenty of it. [SPEAKER_03]: Next scene is in the clingon ready room. [SPEAKER_03]: Mar-Talk thinks the crew stinks and Warf understands that defeat by the gem had our over and over is creating this. [SPEAKER_03]: sense of defeat for everyone and Martaq says he thinks they just expect to be defeated now.

[SPEAKER_03]: So, Warf and Martaq decide we need a victory and they want the crew to be prepared. [SPEAKER_03]: Warf says, I will prepare them. [SPEAKER_03]: I promise you. [SPEAKER_03]: So it seems like Mar-Talk and Warfer both trying to, you know, they're on the same page. [SPEAKER_03]: On the same page, trying to change the attitude of the crew.

[SPEAKER_03]: Next scene is in Clink on Messhall. [SPEAKER_03]: And the blood wine is everywhere. [SPEAKER_03]: Everybody's got blood wine. [SPEAKER_03]: It's flowing. [SPEAKER_03]: It's flowing. [SPEAKER_03]: Tevano tells Dax, a battle story. [SPEAKER_03]: And Leskit, Chimes in again, he's bitter. [SPEAKER_03]: He's tired of losing.

[SPEAKER_03]: than Tavanna insults him, and Orta can says, Dax is here because of warf, they're a couple, and that's the only reason she's here. [SPEAKER_03]: Dax is no, it's an honor to serve under Mar-Talk. [SPEAKER_03]: So again, trying to, you know, boost the morale of the crew, that's when Leskit insults Mar-Talk, so Dax starts insulting Leskit, she's, everybody's insulting everybody.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's like a bunch of, well, your, your mama jokes in this scene. [SPEAKER_03]: Wasn't a little bit like everybody's taking a shot at everybody and Daxy even gets drawn into it. [SPEAKER_03]: I think I scored him mostly. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you do. [SPEAKER_02]: Her cut is she goes on this trip.

[SPEAKER_02]: My bed is as empty as yours, let's get except mine is empty by choice. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and that's what everyone's like. [SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh [SPEAKER_03]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_03]: So everybody is insulting everybody. [SPEAKER_03]: Cornen thinks that the ship is cursed, though. [SPEAKER_03]: He's the serious one. [SPEAKER_03]: Cornen is very ominous about his bad luck description. [SPEAKER_03]: He's very, he's the heavy in this scene. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, off of Cornen's ominous description of their bad luck, Wurf makes a call to all of them.

[SPEAKER_03]: He says, battle stations, [SPEAKER_03]: everybody heads out to the bridge up on the bridge we learn their cloaked Martak lets the gem had our go we see their ship but he lets them go and the crew is not happy about that really stupid move yeah it is because it's a patrol ship it's not a battle cruiser it's a patrol ship easily defeated by a cling on bird of prey [SPEAKER_00]: which is exactly what the crew needs.

[SPEAKER_02]: They need that. [SPEAKER_02]: They need a win with it. [SPEAKER_02]: They talked about it. [SPEAKER_02]: They've talked about it. [SPEAKER_02]: So at this point, when you guys are watching this, are you feeling that Mar-Talk is gun shy that he is? [SPEAKER_02]: Like, what do you think? [SPEAKER_02]: Why is he being this way?

[SPEAKER_02]: What are you two thinking? [SPEAKER_02]: As an audience member, when you were... [SPEAKER_03]: I think my sense was he's gonna be right. [SPEAKER_03]: He's going to be smart. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: He's being smart. [SPEAKER_03]: And these guys just want to fight. [SPEAKER_03]: They're being reactive.

[SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: But there was no payoff to that later. [SPEAKER_02]: Those was there. [SPEAKER_02]: No. [SPEAKER_02]: No, which is unfortunate. [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm thinking it was the abuse in that Dominion prison camp that broke him that made him just a kind of a show. [SPEAKER_00]: He's done shy.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's good. [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a little gun shy thinking that way more [SPEAKER_02]: He can't pull the trigger. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's acting like a human. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: He's acting like a star-fleet officer, actually. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, he is. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: And Dax even tells Worf privately. [SPEAKER_03]: She pulls into the side, tells him that she thinks that was a mistake. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: She says, look at the crew. [SPEAKER_03]: The morale is horrible. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: We're in trouble. [SPEAKER_03]: Basically.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and you've got to do something about it, Worf. [SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't do anything about it. [SPEAKER_00]: He has to. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So I have to be honest to Worf. [SPEAKER_00]: So Worf can be honest to Mar talk. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, the next scene we go in the ready room, we're mid scene.

[SPEAKER_03]: So Worf has brought this up. [SPEAKER_03]: What Dex was mentioning and Mar talks very angry about it. [SPEAKER_03]: Warf is questioning his judgment here. [SPEAKER_03]: Mar-Talk asks Warf and Warf says he has his full support, you know, Mar-Talk starting to question Warf's allegiance, yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: After Warf says, you have got my full support, Mar-Talk says, and mine too, I will not fail you either, Warf. [SPEAKER_03]: So a little bit of a Warf testing it out trying to bring this up, but it doesn't go well, so he backs off and says, [SPEAKER_03]: back in the mess hall, DAX goes in to get a drink, but let's get appears to be stoking some kind of rebellion here.

[SPEAKER_03]: He's just ranting on and on about the holo projections from the Kardashians, sensor ghosts, everything was a game with the Kardashians and it would be an honor to kill the Kardashians. [SPEAKER_03]: He wants, he wants some blood. [SPEAKER_03]: Let's just try and arrive everybody off. [SPEAKER_02]: We talked about how the Kardashians are, at least they have a, you know, they have a code.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did like these points he made. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he did. [SPEAKER_02]: Whereas the dominion, the gemhadar just, they're, they're not even, they're all machines. [SPEAKER_02]: They're not even, they have no honor, they have no code of, except for, they're just there to fight. [SPEAKER_02]: That's it.

[SPEAKER_02]: They were engineered that way. [SPEAKER_02]: So he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he [SPEAKER_00]: And he comparing the Kardashians to the Klingons.

[SPEAKER_00]: In a way, yes. [SPEAKER_00]: They have a purpose. [SPEAKER_00]: They have a code. [SPEAKER_03]: Correct. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And he does say that the gem had our or the future. [SPEAKER_03]: And Mar-Talk fears the future. [SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, fears the gem had our.

[SPEAKER_03]: And they start bickering. [SPEAKER_03]: Daxa shut up. [SPEAKER_02]: She tells me to shut up. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Shut up. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's get. [SPEAKER_02]: It was like it's like a teen drama almost. [SPEAKER_02]: It's great. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, let's get Then I used to say that with Michael Dorn, it was so funny Shut up, and he go you shut up in that voice You guys would do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was great. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, then not started it. [SPEAKER_00]: It was hilarious. [SPEAKER_02]: That's funny So if I walked up to the nine said shut up, she'd get it then [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I don't know, from you, she might go. [SPEAKER_00]: That's so rude, Garrett. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe she'd be on it. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe she'll laugh. [SPEAKER_00]: Try it in Vegas. [SPEAKER_02]: I will. [SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_02]: I'll do it to Michael as well. [SPEAKER_00]: And then she doesn't react well, say Terry told me. [SPEAKER_02]: Terry told me I could. [SPEAKER_03]: Terry's fault.

[SPEAKER_00]: Terry's fault. [SPEAKER_00]: Terry's fault. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, the end of the scene, Leska's got everybody riled up. [SPEAKER_03]: He says, Mar-Talk fears the gem at our. [SPEAKER_03]: That's why we didn't attack them. [SPEAKER_03]: Mar-Talk fears them, and that's when Kornan attacks Leska.

[SPEAKER_03]: There's a fight here, or it can tries to break it up. [SPEAKER_03]: Kornan's trying to throttle or to kin. [SPEAKER_02]: Wait, so Leska's being beaten down by Kornan? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Kornan. [SPEAKER_02]: Kornan, I confuse. [SPEAKER_02]: OK. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's let's get is the blonde clinging on.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of punchy. [SPEAKER_00]: That leads back with that. [SPEAKER_00]: He didn't let one with the. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that's good. [SPEAKER_00]: Is let's get the one with the the blonde here. [SPEAKER_00]: But the bones. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, he has bones around his neck. [SPEAKER_02]: He's the one with the bones.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, Hornin and him are kind of buddies. [SPEAKER_00]: They're the ones that come on to the station and are in court, right? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're the first ones for insulting the captain. [SPEAKER_03]: Order can get involved in corn and turns on order can now and is beating up order can.

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, and that's when DAX takes her phaser out, stuns them to stop the fight and that ends the fight, but yeah, it's basically the pirates are all fighting each other, but what I could have been down to, yeah, going, yeah, yep. [SPEAKER_00]: I just want to say it felt to me like, okay, I stunned, but that the fight should have continued and then cut to us being in the, because I had so much blood on the next scene and my hair was taw sold.

[SPEAKER_00]: It seems like that. [SPEAKER_00]: That's why kept going. [SPEAKER_00]: Helping someone to the infirmary, yeah, the blood, but I looked to shovel a bit of a logic and then I magically perfect in the next scene. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, what have been better if the staging had gotten you physically involved in the fight and in the middle we don't know who won the fight.

[SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: So we don't discover really what happened until. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Until Worf comes to see it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well that's the next scene. [SPEAKER_03]: We're in a corridor.

[SPEAKER_03]: Worf comes to see if Dax is okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Dax is very frustrated about all this. [SPEAKER_03]: She thinks the crew needs a leader, where they are going to explode, and Worf defends Martak in the scene. [SPEAKER_03]: Dax says, what happened in the mess hall could happen all over the ship.

[SPEAKER_03]: And if you think the blood looks bad on me right now, wait until the decks are dripping with it. [SPEAKER_03]: So she's really raising the stakes here. [SPEAKER_03]: Like this place is going to explode bad, and Mar Talks got to do something about it. [SPEAKER_02]: I was just thinking about what Terry was saying.

[SPEAKER_02]: They were right. [SPEAKER_02]: If that fight kept on going to the end, you didn't see the end of it, but the last part of it is maybe you pulling the phase or it's shooting it, but you don't know who gets hit and then you go to the net, you know, there's a lot of ways to even that. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, sorry. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, we go back to the bridge after Dax and Wolf talking in the quarter. [SPEAKER_03]: Dax gets a distress signal. [SPEAKER_03]: Wolf Alters course to go help seven light years away. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, they found it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the Bermoth.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: They were tacked by the Gemhadar and lost main power heavy casualties, at least 30 survivors, 30 survivors in need of assistance. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, Worf heads to go help them, but he's going to have to go tell Martak what's going on. [SPEAKER_03]: So he gives Tavanna, makes her in charge of the bridge, Tavanna goes over to Dax and tells Dax if things go south here, stick with me.

[SPEAKER_03]: So, they're already dividing up into like facts and factions, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and she's the only one, she and I are the two that have Parma Kai's on the ship. [SPEAKER_03]: That's right, I don't get anyone else does. [SPEAKER_00]: Just want to, yeah, nobody will. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I imagine not, not from what we see on the bridge.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, Coranan comes in and Tevonis says stations and then he starts to head towards her or the captain's chair and she I think he's trying to head toward what's the guy's name. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's get let's get let's get let's get let's get start the fight again. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's what I thought it was.

[SPEAKER_02]: He was going to go and and start more beef with [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's good. [SPEAKER_03]: We go into the ready room and Martak thinks this is a mistake. [SPEAKER_03]: He thinks it's going to be a trap. [SPEAKER_03]: But Wurf says we shouldn't make any premature judgments about what is going on here.

[SPEAKER_03]: We should go help these people and see or at least look into it and try and help them. [SPEAKER_00]: Because that's our mission for God's sakes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Martak's sort of agrees. [SPEAKER_03]: He dismisses Wurf and we've got a Wurf log here. [SPEAKER_03]: He says the 53rd day of the year of Kalis, nine, nine, 99.

[SPEAKER_03]: So he's using cling on dates instead of starfleet dates. [SPEAKER_03]: I like that. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, very cool. [SPEAKER_03]: And he says we've reached the Cardiacian border and begun our search for the Bermoth. [SPEAKER_03]: That was kind of cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Is it then that I start, I see them in my, I can see it.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: Impulse. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're sort of like a fritzy screen and then you get clarity and and it is the Bumoff. [SPEAKER_03]: You say that it's just inside the Cardassian territory. [SPEAKER_03]: So it's just across the border which [SPEAKER_03]: We're not supposed to go in there.

[SPEAKER_03]: Martox says, no, we can't cross the border. [SPEAKER_00]: That was like flipping me out. [SPEAKER_00]: Are you kidding? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're waiting. [SPEAKER_00]: Why are you sitting here waiting? [SPEAKER_00]: Just go get them and let's get the hell out of here. [SPEAKER_00]: What the fuck?

[SPEAKER_02]: He really took on Martox really took on his own of a Starfleet captain thinking, well, my orders are, I cannot cross in at all. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to do a thing on. [SPEAKER_00]: Not very clean on. [SPEAKER_00]: Not really on. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like the Dominion camp just squeezed all the clings on out of Mar-Talk.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and then he gave his warrior heart to Warf. [SPEAKER_00]: He's missing all of it now. [SPEAKER_03]: He's missing his warrior heart. [SPEAKER_03]: That means to give it back to him. [SPEAKER_00]: He does. [SPEAKER_02]: But again, at this point, I'm still thinking, okay, he's wise, he's making the right decision because yes, it is a trap.

[SPEAKER_02]: I believe, I said they'd left him alive because they would more cling on to come in and so they could get killed, obviously, or attacked. [SPEAKER_02]: So I felt the same. [SPEAKER_00]: I understood that, but when we got there, [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like I could detect anybody, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: He went around. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So I guess they could have been cloaked. [SPEAKER_00]: But that was our mission. [SPEAKER_00]: That was our mission. [SPEAKER_00]: It's right. [SPEAKER_02]: But they don't have, they don't have, they don't have Gemini, I don't have cloaking technology.

[SPEAKER_02]: So Dax is what they're doing. [SPEAKER_02]: And you're right, you to be frustrated, because it's literally like saying, that person's having a heart attack, but they're on the other side of that side, what can we can't walk over there, sorry? [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: They're across the street.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right there. [SPEAKER_02]: I can't literally. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, Wolf gets pushy in the scene. [SPEAKER_03]: He tries to get Mar-Talk to, you know, they're ready to say all of this, and Mar-Talk just sticks. [SPEAKER_03]: In front of everyone, right? [SPEAKER_00]: They're ready for everybody.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, Wolf explodes at Mar-Talk, and then Mar-Talk explodes even bigger to Wolf. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Isn't it in the exit? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, then then he way he says anybody who challenges my orders has captain will be charged with treason and martach leaves.

[SPEAKER_02]: But he says, warf you have the bridge, which baby laugh. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, really, you get all he does. [SPEAKER_02]: He has the bridge. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to set it up so that you can disobey me now. [SPEAKER_02]: Bye. [SPEAKER_02]: Like that. [SPEAKER_02]: So it was very, I don't know, yeah.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well, tax goes to Warf asks, what are you going to do? [SPEAKER_03]: And Warf says, I'm going to have to challenge Mar-Talk for command, I guess. [SPEAKER_03]: He said, across Rose, he's got a decide, you know, does he take the Starfleet kind of follow command, chain of command path or does he take the cling on path and challenge Mar-Talk?

[SPEAKER_03]: And he says, I'm going to challenge him. [SPEAKER_02]: But challenge means kill him. [SPEAKER_02]: That is what that means. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Not good. [SPEAKER_02]: He says I will have to kill him if you did the general doesn't step aside. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: OK.

[SPEAKER_03]: So a little later we're still on the bridge and Coran and Lescutter talking privately and Tevanna takes out her disruptor pistol. [SPEAKER_03]: So it looks like things are. [SPEAKER_03]: you know, this could be the blood dripping from the dex as dex described it. [SPEAKER_03]: And corn and lesquita prochwarf, they say martoxic Howard dex calls Ordican.

[SPEAKER_03]: She does a little typing because she can tell things are about to go down. [SPEAKER_02]: Did you clock that? [SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't read about it. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: That's why I'm bringing it up. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: Ronald you more once commented on this scene saying quote dex was actually setting a message to Ordican.

[SPEAKER_02]: warning him of the impending mutiny or to can show us up on the bridge a few seconds later with two other armed clingsons Yeah, the cutaway to DAX didn't read as well on camera as we had hoped and now Ordickens arrival is a bit mysterious which I thought I'm like, what's happening like are they gonna?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's who's doing that so and who are these guys? [SPEAKER_00]: Right, they just being on to the ship. [SPEAKER_00]: But that's what I was thinking. [SPEAKER_02]: But I watched it [SPEAKER_02]: if he was shot differently with different choices of camera angles and whatever tight tightness of lens, you could have relayed that, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even know I called Oregon. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, probably needed a shot out in the hallway, just a close-up coming off of his pad or something. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, sure, let me see me in him when he looks at something and says, let's go. [SPEAKER_03]: If you had intercut that for a second, you'd know who she was typing to, but we see her typing, to ask calling somebody or doing something.

[SPEAKER_03]: but it's a bit confusing. [SPEAKER_00]: It's ambiguous. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm typing what? [SPEAKER_00]: I could be typing just to find out more anything. [SPEAKER_03]: And then the other side of that. [SPEAKER_03]: So Worf decides to disobey Marta commands them to go rescue the Bermoth. [SPEAKER_03]: Marta comes in right away.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because battle stations, Worf says battle stations, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Worf challenges his command. [SPEAKER_03]: The fight goes on a while. [SPEAKER_03]: It looks like Worf's winning at one point, but then Marta comes up stabbing him in the stomach. [SPEAKER_03]: because he won that fight.

[SPEAKER_03]: So they're all by my heart. [SPEAKER_00]: And they were telling him you've got to get rid of Marta. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's all happened in like 30 seconds. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: So they went from kill Marta, gay Marta. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, gay Marta. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_04]: Fickle. [SPEAKER_03]: Tavanna says that a gem had our ship is approaching now in the middle of all this. [SPEAKER_03]: And Mar-Talk takes a beat and he goes battle stations. [SPEAKER_03]: So that fight with Warf has turned things around from our talk. [SPEAKER_03]: He's got the cling on fight in him now.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And he calls for battle stations. [SPEAKER_03]: Dax is trying to get Warf to the medical ward to, you know, [SPEAKER_03]: Take care of his injury. [SPEAKER_03]: That's a big turn in this scene. [SPEAKER_03]: It all happens very quickly. [SPEAKER_03]: Very quickly. [SPEAKER_00]: And then we don't see anything.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is my big beef. [SPEAKER_00]: I paused it because I'm, this is, did we, yes, it looks, we skipped something. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes, I'm, they were on the space station. [SPEAKER_00]: And I paused it and it was, oh, my gosh. [SPEAKER_00]: There's battles over. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: We should have seen all of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: There was no pain. [SPEAKER_02]: Not a time. [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: But 42 minutes and not enough time. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but then you should maybe less kid could have complained less like cut some of that shit out. [SPEAKER_00]: It was poignant. [SPEAKER_00]: He did it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, but maybe it's like, and how did you not see that you're making such a meal out of the complaints, but we have no payoff as an audience. [SPEAKER_00]: to see them. [SPEAKER_03]: We should have been brave and see them win and celebrate the win. [SPEAKER_00]: And the gem had are he.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even realize they killed the gem at our or battle gem at our until Mark talk mentions it later. [SPEAKER_02]: So Robbie, that's budget consideration then. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I'm sure. [SPEAKER_02]: I wonder if he's a fetch for that battle is impossible to throw in here. [SPEAKER_00]: but we needed it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, let's remake this entire episode. [SPEAKER_03]: When we go back to the space station, first thing we we see is Bashir complaining about the intelligence business, basically, just read all the reports, and he's complaining, complaining, and he says to miles, you don't really care, do you?

[SPEAKER_03]: In Moscow? [SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_03]: I was one of my favorite moments in the whole episode. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was very funny, you know, don't care. [SPEAKER_03]: And then Brian says that vessel's decloking 15 kilometers off the station. [SPEAKER_03]: It's the return. [SPEAKER_03]: So it's Martak ship, we missed the battle.

[SPEAKER_03]: Martak says they rescued 35 survivors and request permission to beam them directly to the infirmary. [SPEAKER_03]: He also says a range for 15 barrels of blood wine to be waiting for us in the air lock. [SPEAKER_03]: So we can celebrate our victory of the return over the gem hadar. [SPEAKER_03]: So, [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we missed it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, really? [SPEAKER_00]: That happened. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I kept thinking, did you guys think this DAX brings three barrels on board the ship, which seems that tons of bloodwired and then the general request 15. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, one, he, they rescued 30 clingsons.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they need it. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they need it in [SPEAKER_00]: Well, and also I imagine that when Dax brought the three, it was just for that one night. [SPEAKER_00]: The people on the bridge. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, just the senior officers only. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, senior officers only. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I see. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: She was targeting a specific group of people. [SPEAKER_03]: I got it. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, we go to [SPEAKER_03]: and Martoc asks him to join his house basically. [SPEAKER_03]: He says, uh, you're still wearing the crest of the house of Moog and works as yeah, it's a sentimental gesture.

[SPEAKER_03]: Jedsey or calls it a sentimental gesture, but he, uh, [SPEAKER_03]: offers to replace the House of Mogue with the House of Mar talk. [SPEAKER_03]: So a very sweet and, you know, moving gesture here at the end. [SPEAKER_03]: But I felt like this bond had not been played out on this ship.

[SPEAKER_03]: I would have liked to have seen more of that relationship. [SPEAKER_03]: and what they each offer each other and they need to learn from each other and less complaining like you said. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that what I like about this is at least we get to it's revealed what it's through this whole episode, but the journey that Mark talked takes, but especially this end [SPEAKER_00]: Sharing, he's a very evolved Klingon Martak.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And we didn't get to see enough of him. [SPEAKER_03]: He just kept leaving the bridge in this episode. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, which I don't understand. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: My lesson is everyone needs someone to remind them of who they truly are now and then.

[SPEAKER_03]: I love all of us. [SPEAKER_03]: All of us need to be reminded of who we are. [SPEAKER_03]: We forget who we are sometime. [SPEAKER_03]: That is very true. [SPEAKER_03]: That is very true. [SPEAKER_00]: I get lost in our story negative thoughts. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Mine was the best kind of friend tells you the truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: I like that. [SPEAKER_00]: Because it's scary that that's when we create real connections with each other in intimacy and relationships. [SPEAKER_00]: And, um, I haven't always been good about that. [SPEAKER_00]: I've been afraid of saying my mind a lot of times because or telling the truth because I don't want to upset someone, but my deepest relationships are the ones that I'm brave enough to say.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I got to talk to you about this. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there are times when I have felt like I'm going to lose this friendship over saying this out loud, I kind of prepare myself that that's going to be okay because it's more important for me to say what I see and I can't say most of the time, I can't think of a time where it didn't really pan out, but I'm wondering if that's us holding on to positive.

[SPEAKER_00]: and letting the negative go because it doesn't really matter. [SPEAKER_00]: But the people I care the most about those tend to be the thing that those kind of conversations bring us closer because we trust each other. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Just starting to get deep in thought after you said yours.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yours reminded me of the Marianne Williamson quote our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us my other theme or lesson is the Nike motto just do it just do it and that's in reference to the general well our patreon poll winner for the theme moral of this episode is submitted by Craig main always [SPEAKER_00]: and capital letters.

[SPEAKER_00]: Listen to Jude Zia. [SPEAKER_00]: She is usually a few steps ahead of work. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, she is. [SPEAKER_00]: Garrett, you have honorable mention, theme moral. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I do. [SPEAKER_02]: Honorable mention for themes slash lesson slash moral. [SPEAKER_02]: As submitted by Lori Olster, Lori Olster says, you can teach someone an important lesson without stripping them of their dignity.
