[SPEAKER_05]: Well, those were, well, what? [SPEAKER_03]: Did you like those adjectives, Terry? [SPEAKER_03]: I came up with those. [SPEAKER_05]: I was thinking, how are we going to live up to all of that? [SPEAKER_05]: And then I thought, wait a minute, you have one foot in Las Vegas, so I think that's the showmen in you.
[SPEAKER_05]: That's what it is. [SPEAKER_03]: It is. [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, wouldn't Garrett be great as like, what do they call the person who is the, who's in charge of the host master of ceremonies? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: First circus. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, I'd be in a circus.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like Circus, Memphis. [SPEAKER_05]: Like Circus. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, like, five. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: I can do that. [SPEAKER_03]: All right. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, how is everyone doing today? [SPEAKER_01]: Good. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Good. [SPEAKER_01]: Good.
[SPEAKER_01]: Excellent. [SPEAKER_01]: Going to play golf with Jim Conway tomorrow. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no. [SPEAKER_01]: Very excited. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm telling him hello. [SPEAKER_01]: I will. [SPEAKER_01]: I will. [SPEAKER_05]: Did he love Italy? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh. [SPEAKER_01]: He had a great time.
[SPEAKER_01]: He sent me like an album of all the photos because that's his hobby now. [SPEAKER_01]: He goes on these photo trips. [SPEAKER_01]: So he'll go and there's like a photography teacher there that takes a group of them out and they do landscape photography and he had some beautiful shots. [SPEAKER_01]: Really.
[SPEAKER_05]: This will be great is to do that for the Galapagos. [SPEAKER_01]: You know who's in the Galapagos? [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just Star Trek people are in the Galapagos right now. [SPEAKER_05]: No, I always know. [SPEAKER_01]: I know that would be amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: What do you mean they're in Galapagos right now?
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you get an event? [SPEAKER_01]: Galapagos constantly? [SPEAKER_01]: Vacation. [SPEAKER_01]: Vacation. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Like an adventure trip. [SPEAKER_01]: Like Jim Conway does, our good director friend. [SPEAKER_05]: I took myself on safari once.
[SPEAKER_05]: Have you guys ever done that? [SPEAKER_01]: I have. [SPEAKER_05]: I was the best gift I ever gave myself. [SPEAKER_05]: Amazing. [SPEAKER_05]: What did you go? [SPEAKER_05]: Isn't it? [SPEAKER_05]: Kenya. [SPEAKER_05]: I went to Nairobi and we did the whole Massai Mara Mount Kilimanjaro.
[SPEAKER_05]: It was just amazing. [SPEAKER_05]: What year was that? [SPEAKER_03]: What would you say? [SPEAKER_05]: I was on Becker and I turned thirty six on that trip. [SPEAKER_05]: And my every flight I was on was delayed. [SPEAKER_05]: And on my birthday, I was in a hotel at an airport hotel in Paris, having a glass of not great wine from the little mini bar.
[SPEAKER_05]: I got to the safari two days late. [SPEAKER_05]: I got there and we had to leave right when I got there. [SPEAKER_05]: It was just terrible. [SPEAKER_03]: Wow. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm proud that you went on your own to Kenya. [SPEAKER_03]: That's huge. [SPEAKER_03]: So a lot of people can do that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Not a lot of people can do that. [SPEAKER_03]: So good for you. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, it was with a group, even though I was by myself. [SPEAKER_05]: To get there, you're. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, because some people also just go. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Wow, Terry's right, Robbie.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is a life changing moment when you see the just the wildlife and the animals near up close. [SPEAKER_03]: But I didn't go to Kenya. [SPEAKER_03]: I went to South Africa with Megan and it was just unbelievable. [SPEAKER_03]: You feel that you can feel that that ground is ancient. [SPEAKER_03]: It's just like, you know, you know what I'm saying?
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, if you're walking through like this is where we came from. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, if I'm walking through Pittsburgh, I don't think that that ground is ancient. [SPEAKER_03]: But when I go to Africa, [SPEAKER_02]: What do you got against Pittsburgh? [SPEAKER_02]: I have nothing against Pittsburgh.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've just I just I just I get I was said I didn't want to say to your I put this very nice sound to Yeah, we can buck two ever when you walking through Tim buck two. [SPEAKER_03]: How's that okay? [SPEAKER_05]: Sorry Pittsburgh never been there. [SPEAKER_03]: I've been to Kathmandu. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's not is that because it's not a pause Nepal you have how was it giving there?
[SPEAKER_01]: It was great. [SPEAKER_01]: It was my very first trip out of the country. [SPEAKER_01]: I was twenty years old. [SPEAKER_01]: I went with Mark Lamiro from the soap opera. [SPEAKER_01]: I was doing it at the time. [SPEAKER_01]: He and I went together. [SPEAKER_01]: He had traveled all over great adventure traveler.
[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like I had gone on a Star Trek away mission or something. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It was another world. [SPEAKER_01]: The final leg of the flight was from Bangkok to Kathmandu. [SPEAKER_01]: I think. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And we were on Napoli Airlines, and halfway back in the plane, there was a curtain.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the back part of the plane, they had chickens. [SPEAKER_02]: It was like, it was going to joke about that. [SPEAKER_01]: There's livestock. [SPEAKER_01]: There was livestock. [SPEAKER_01]: There were animals because it was a smaller plane. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's Kathmandu. [SPEAKER_01]: And you know, there was literally, you could hear the chickens in the back of the plane.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, my word. [SPEAKER_01]: And we flew over. [SPEAKER_01]: We got to see Mount Everest. [SPEAKER_01]: We flew over Mount Everest and in a corner. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was an amazing trip. [SPEAKER_01]: It was pretty. [SPEAKER_03]: Wow. [SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk about some birthdays right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: The first birthday I want to shout out is to on a post on July twenty first happy happy birthday on a happy birthday on a happy birthday on a [SPEAKER_03]: Happy birthday to you, Anna. [SPEAKER_03]: Happy birthday. [SPEAKER_03]: Next up, we have Nelson Silvera, Nelson Silvera on July, twenty second the next day after Anna.
[SPEAKER_03]: Happy birthday to Nelson Silvera. [SPEAKER_05]: Happy birthday, Nelson. [SPEAKER_05]: I hope it's an awesome day. [SPEAKER_01]: Happy birthday, Nelson. [SPEAKER_05]: And Lauren Rivers, July, twenty-third. [SPEAKER_05]: Happy birthday, Lauren. [SPEAKER_01]: Happy birthday, Lauren. [SPEAKER_03]: Happy birthday, Lauren.
[SPEAKER_00]: Here's my limeric for sword of chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: I like how you said that. [SPEAKER_05]: Me too. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: War finally meets core face to face. [SPEAKER_01]: Finding the sword could reverse worse disgrace. [SPEAKER_01]: paranoia grows by degree. [SPEAKER_01]: Dex must play referee.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now the sword is just lost in space. [SPEAKER_03]: Very good. [SPEAKER_03]: I wanted you to do it the same voice that you started with though. [SPEAKER_00]: What finally meets core face to face. [SPEAKER_00]: Finding the sword could reverse was disgrace. [SPEAKER_00]: Aranoya grows by degree.
[SPEAKER_00]: Dax must play, referee. [SPEAKER_00]: Now the sword is just lost in space. [SPEAKER_01]: See how much better that was? [SPEAKER_01]: That was a maze. [SPEAKER_01]: That was my, that was my clingon version. [SPEAKER_01]: You knocked it out of the park with the clingon version. [SPEAKER_05]: You did.
[SPEAKER_05]: I think you should be an honorary clingon now. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I married one on the show and Voyager show. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, that's right. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, we've been very clingons. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, never thought of that. [SPEAKER_03]: Time for high coup. [SPEAKER_03]: I think I want to do cling on voice too.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, good good good. [SPEAKER_05]: Do it. [SPEAKER_00]: One sword to rule all. [SPEAKER_00]: Dax, maybe sits worth and core. [SPEAKER_00]: Bye bye, sweet bethleth. [SPEAKER_05]: Wow, that was very impressive. [SPEAKER_05]: Wow. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I really liked that. [SPEAKER_05]: That was awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: All the houses approved. [SPEAKER_05]: I need reaction. [SPEAKER_05]: Yay. [SPEAKER_03]: Let us move on to talk about the director. [SPEAKER_03]: I love our burden. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, very good. [SPEAKER_03]: He did a great job. [SPEAKER_03]: He did do a nice job. [SPEAKER_03]: Story by Richard Dennis, but tell a play is by Hans Bymla.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's just say that Hans wanted to avoid giving the sword any mystical or magical powers like the Holy Grail. [SPEAKER_03]: He said, it's the concept of the sword that has the power. [SPEAKER_03]: We could have said that some technology or magic gave the clean-ons of feeling of power, but that would have been a cheap way to go.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is something that all the writers were trying to stress that the actual sort of kale has had no, you know, magic powers. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: But a lot of fans reacted [SPEAKER_03]: adversely to it initially. [SPEAKER_03]: They wanted to have power. [SPEAKER_05]: They're like, why not?
[SPEAKER_05]: It's fun. [SPEAKER_03]: It is fun to have a sword with power. [SPEAKER_05]: And in Star Wars has the force. [SPEAKER_05]: So why not a little magic? [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: And this episode was heavily inspired by the classic feature film, the treasure of Sierra Madre. [SPEAKER_03]: That is the kind of the influence behind this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Gestars are John Colicos. [SPEAKER_03]: Back as core. [SPEAKER_03]: Good John, my friend. [SPEAKER_03]: So how amazing is that is he he starts doing this role in nineteen in the sixties and they bring him back to do it again in d space nine next we have Rick Pasco Lone as to raw this character actually was played by a different actor JD column [SPEAKER_03]: in the TNG two-part episode redemption when Tural first appears.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: And JD column is a very good friend of arman and kitties. [SPEAKER_01]: In fact, I think JD just did the play that they were in. [SPEAKER_01]: I did not know that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Wow. [SPEAKER_03]: Instead of six degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon, it could be from arman shimmerman and kitties.
[SPEAKER_03]: Arman and kitties. [SPEAKER_03]: Six degrees of arman and kitties. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Hundred percent. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: The swimmerments. [SPEAKER_03]: The Swimman Swank in Shimmerman. [SPEAKER_05]: The Swimman. [SPEAKER_03]: I love that. [SPEAKER_03]: I love it.
[SPEAKER_03]: And you can be their neighbor in the sitcom of course. [SPEAKER_05]: Totally, I'm with it. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm totally on it. [SPEAKER_05]: You guys have to come visit me all the time. [SPEAKER_03]: We will. [SPEAKER_05]: The two knuckleheads that drive me insane. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we'll be the two knuckleheads that keep coming over to drive you insane in the sitcom.
[SPEAKER_03]: Tom Morgan, Dennis Maddalen's right-hand man plays Soto as a co-star. [SPEAKER_03]: All right, and that's all of our people. [SPEAKER_01]: Great. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we started in quirks and we've got core there telling a very dramatic cling on tail to a [SPEAKER_01]: a wrapped group that includes everybody, everybody's listening.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is our residual scene where Odo and Quark and everybody get one line so they get their residuals. [SPEAKER_01]: And then we don't see them, they're us to the opposite of basically. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: And he's getting mixed reviews. [SPEAKER_05]: Some people are getting impatient with you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Quark hates the dramatic cling-on stories as he passes by Warf at the bar, who and [SPEAKER_01]: That immediately, I was like, why isn't Warfova there? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is a claim on story, but you, we come to learn. [SPEAKER_01]: He's very intimidated by core in the beginning.
[SPEAKER_01]: He just really idolizes him when we start a story. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Odo and Bashir are very skeptical. [SPEAKER_01]: DAX mentions, you told the story differently before. [SPEAKER_01]: So we already know he's embellishing his stories. [SPEAKER_05]: It's a fish story. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_05]: The biggest fish ever. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: He's very good at telling these stories, too. [SPEAKER_05]: I love how Column reacted. [SPEAKER_05]: Chief of Brian reacted. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Like who cares? [SPEAKER_05]: He's such a great storyteller. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: Dax tries to introduce court of war. [SPEAKER_01]: And at first he says, no, we realize war feels like an outcast because he was raised by fostered with humans. [SPEAKER_01]: And this never quite felt like he fit in. [SPEAKER_01]: We're sort of reminded of that. [SPEAKER_01]: Dax brings core over anyway.
[SPEAKER_01]: and uh... works very honored to meet him or starts to reveal that he's looking for this treasure some treasure but doesn't say exactly what it is and then work guesses that it's the sort of chaos and he's very excited wants to help core he would be honored core shows us the shroud [SPEAKER_01]: Which I thought was a really interesting prop like it was the tattoo.
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was very cool. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, sometimes they don't look as kind of authentic and that really looked great. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, props to the great job. [SPEAKER_03]: I also like the introduction when core first response when he first sees Warf. [SPEAKER_03]: He says, uh, warf the traitor, the pariah, the lowest of a low and then he's like, pleasure to meet you.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was crazy. [SPEAKER_03]: I was waiting for him to like slap him or hit him or challenge him, but no, it was funny. [SPEAKER_05]: I think that was like the most even that core delivered any line. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: It sounded just human. [SPEAKER_03]: It was so throwy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so throwy. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Very sitcomy. [SPEAKER_03]: Right? [SPEAKER_03]: That way. [SPEAKER_03]: I felt, yeah, I like good action. [SPEAKER_05]: Can I tell you something, you guys? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't remember this. [SPEAKER_05]: at all. [SPEAKER_05]: Sorry.
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't remember doing it and it felt so weird. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm watching it. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm like, okay. [SPEAKER_05]: No, it'll come to me. [SPEAKER_05]: It'll come. [SPEAKER_05]: Nope. [SPEAKER_05]: Nope. [SPEAKER_05]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a Robby problem. [SPEAKER_03]: It's like me and Voyager.
[SPEAKER_03]: Robby has also forgotten an episode that he's very heavy in. [SPEAKER_03]: I forgotten stuff in an episode that I was in. [SPEAKER_03]: Seriously. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, we're both like, what? [SPEAKER_03]: We won't win. [SPEAKER_03]: When do we film this? [SPEAKER_03]: When did we work on this?
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_05]: Do you not remember the story? [SPEAKER_01]: Especially for you, I'm surprised this one because you did have a lot to do. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: This was episode eight of season four. [SPEAKER_01]: This is in that zone. [SPEAKER_01]: at least in my memory of Voyager, where by season three, four, five, those episodes, especially in the middle of the season, they're just buried, surrounded by so much other long days.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, you're so right. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: We are literally in the thick of it, right? [SPEAKER_03]: With the season. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: And you know what?
[SPEAKER_05]: I did a video game kind of treasure quest at the in the same month that we did rejoined. [SPEAKER_05]: I think I was heavy in quite a few episodes and I was working weekends on that. [SPEAKER_05]: So I was by the time we got to this episode, I must have just been when you so exhausted. [SPEAKER_05]: I couldn't possibly remember.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so when you say video game, you were playing a different character doing a voice in a video game? [SPEAKER_03]: Is it what you're saying? [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I played like a bunch of characters. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, what was an angel? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: It was called Treasure Quest.
[SPEAKER_03]: Treasure Quest is the video game. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, okay. [SPEAKER_05]: It was like a treasure hunt. [SPEAKER_03]: I want to find it and I want to play it now. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not really. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it was like having on your people travel places. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it was on your computer.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we're at the end of that first scene. [SPEAKER_05]: What was this piece of? [SPEAKER_05]: The Cloth. [SPEAKER_01]: The Cloth. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh yeah, the shroud itself. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a shroud itself. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a shroud. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a shroud. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a shroud.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's a shroud. [SPEAKER_05]: It's a shroud. [SPEAKER_05]: It's a shroud. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a shroud. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a shroud. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a shroud. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a shroud. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a shroud. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a shroud. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a shroud. [SPEAKER_05]: It's a shroud.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's a shroud. [SPEAKER_05]: It's a shroud. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it did because this is where DAX says, uh, cause core wants it to be authentic and DAX goes, I've had too much blood wine. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll check it out tomorrow. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll see if there's any of the sword particles on this.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: Then I say good night to them. [SPEAKER_05]: You're out of there. [SPEAKER_05]: than they're on their own adventure. [SPEAKER_01]: And then they keep drinking. [SPEAKER_01]: Correct. [SPEAKER_01]: They keep keeping drinking. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he'd like take somebody's drink and pours it into his.
[SPEAKER_01]: To send a drink. [SPEAKER_05]: He took mine. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_05]: He mixed whatever blood wine with whatever blue. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: If I was drinking. [SPEAKER_01]: Whatever is wrapped. [SPEAKER_05]: Like whatever that was. [SPEAKER_01]: Long Island iced tea.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a gamma quadron iced tea. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: That's mixed with clinging on blood wine. [SPEAKER_03]: Nice. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Why? [SPEAKER_01]: Where we go into course quarters. [SPEAKER_01]: He comes in super drunk now. [SPEAKER_01]: He's had a lot more to drink.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a lefty in in there. [SPEAKER_01]: I hate those love hands. [SPEAKER_05]: They too aren't scary. [SPEAKER_05]: They're scary. [SPEAKER_03]: But now that you know it's Tom Morgan, not so scary. [SPEAKER_03]: So. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's nice. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, we like Tom. [SPEAKER_05]: We like Tom, but we like Tom, but he did a good job being scary.
[SPEAKER_03]: Good job, Tom. [SPEAKER_03]: This is the same species that attacked Dr. Bashir in distant voices. [SPEAKER_03]: Do you remember? [SPEAKER_03]: He's in the in the infirmary, actually. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: That was all to var that character played by Victor Rivers, but this is clearly not the same actor.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is Tom Morgan. [SPEAKER_01]: Did he have any, oh, he did have a line. [SPEAKER_01]: He says, core. [SPEAKER_01]: That's it. [SPEAKER_03]: He speaks the rest of this is open your mind. [SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't he have a core? [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, it's under five, but it's still more than not saying anything.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's true. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, the Lothian zaps him with some electrical charge and then reads his mind here. [SPEAKER_05]: That upset me. [SPEAKER_01]: Didn't like it. [SPEAKER_05]: No, I was so worried. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm worried about our mission that this. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know how much information he has now. [SPEAKER_01]: He knows everything. [SPEAKER_01]: The next day, Corey's lying on the ground, Dax comes in. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was, and she's immediately, she assumes that he passed out drunk, but I was like, if I walked in and someone's laying on the floor, I'd be like, are you okay?
[SPEAKER_01]: What happened? [SPEAKER_01]: I think they were dead. [SPEAKER_01]: You wait. [SPEAKER_05]: I think about this. [SPEAKER_05]: Remember we went and did blood oath? [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_05]: Together. [SPEAKER_05]: And these guys are rough and tumble. [SPEAKER_05]: They are without rules, especially core.
[SPEAKER_05]: And Dax, the Symbian, known through curse on big history, parts of the man. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, part for the course. [SPEAKER_05]: All right. [SPEAKER_05]: He'll pass out anywhere. [SPEAKER_01]: And you've had to wake him up from a drunken night many times. [SPEAKER_01]: So this is not the first.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: The car for the court. [SPEAKER_01]: So really, Dax is the first one should have been not again. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh my god, can't you? [SPEAKER_05]: Well, couldn't find the bed. [SPEAKER_05]: But find the bed this time again. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that was my life. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, right.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is. [SPEAKER_01]: She asked about his night. [SPEAKER_01]: He says he went to Worf's quarters and they drank and planned more. [SPEAKER_01]: So he was really drunk. [SPEAKER_01]: And she does tell him in the scene. [SPEAKER_01]: She confirms the shroud or this cloth was authentic. [SPEAKER_01]: He is thrilled.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's ready to go right away. [SPEAKER_01]: And she says, no, no, first I want to know where did you get this. [SPEAKER_01]: Tell me about this thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: She's skeptical because this guy's, you know, they, they, something exciting. [SPEAKER_05]: They jump. [SPEAKER_05]: They're like dogs.
[SPEAKER_05]: What? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_03]: And adventure. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I also did take slight offense to course saying, Tode faced for Engie. [SPEAKER_03]: We're talking about quirk. [SPEAKER_03]: I get so protective of quirk. [SPEAKER_03]: It's just weird.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's always, always. [SPEAKER_01]: I just don't need the fat. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sharp comments about him. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: But clingsons don't like for Engie's. [SPEAKER_01]: What? [SPEAKER_01]: Traditionally, are you sure? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would guess. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, truly. [SPEAKER_01]: That's not their jam. [SPEAKER_05]: I think it's kind of a mutual thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_05]: You know, they're great Franky's greedy and opportunistic and the clingons go off the handle and are very dramatic.
[SPEAKER_05]: So I mean, they don't like each other. [SPEAKER_05]: They're both kind of the extremes of what's difficult to deal with. [SPEAKER_05]: Don't you think? [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we go to Cisco's quarters. [SPEAKER_01]: I love the way the scene opens on the close with the shaver.
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, which was very cool opening of the bar. [SPEAKER_05]: Probably a pencil sharpener. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and no, actually. [SPEAKER_03]: Can I just throw in a little bit of trivia that I just have to tell us a truth. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the truth is this is the exact same razor that was used by Lavar Burton in the TNG episode season one codeliner.
[SPEAKER_05]: What? [SPEAKER_05]: I still had that prop. [SPEAKER_05]: Yes. [SPEAKER_05]: Only. [SPEAKER_03]: I, which is shocking. [SPEAKER_03]: Here it is again with Cisco sheet. [SPEAKER_01]: I bet that was, um, I purposeful as they give it ours. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, either the writers. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's what I'm going to ask you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Or the varm. [SPEAKER_05]: I think he thought of it just as a, it'd be a fun act, uh, activity for Avery to have. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, a fun, a fun Easter egg for the. [SPEAKER_03]: Open on. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, both. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that was cool.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, DAX is there with the war. [SPEAKER_01]: If they fills this go in on the sword's history and the cloth, they go through this whole story talking about the herk and how the herk had sort of conquered the clingsons and we're really bad people. [SPEAKER_01]: We never meet the herk.
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I wish I want to know who the her car. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm Terry of you heard of the herk before this because I don't I've never know and don't you think that maybe they should have been around that cave kind of projecting it like if they're still alive though they might have been killed off because this is thousands of years ago right is not the timeline.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh sure like the Egyptians or some of the people that are Egyptian [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, so that's an interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't make the connection with Terry. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a great reference for the her because it is like a pyramid like the tombs of the pier.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, which would have made it even more interesting to have all the things Hans wanted to have in it. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you know, they're on a treasure hunt. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, you talk about having her protecting it. [SPEAKER_03]: I started thinking about her like a herk museum, like they get there and they're like, yes, and the admission fee is this, you see this like little herk ticket booth.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what it felt like it used to be. [SPEAKER_05]: Hey, people were moving along. [SPEAKER_01]: So they go through all that and then Cisco's impressed by this and he asks Dax, you know, so you want to go along to, sounds like an adventure. [SPEAKER_01]: So he gives him his blessing and off they go.
[SPEAKER_05]: I know it's going to silly, but I love how Dax turns and says Benjamin, thank you. [SPEAKER_05]: It's just like a friend thing. [SPEAKER_05]: It feels like he really is letting them go for the relationship he had with hers, hers on and everything. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, he's going to love that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It helps those personal relationships, those moments. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Those are good moments. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we're on the runabout Rio Grande. [SPEAKER_01]: Core is making a big dramatic speech before they enter the wormhole.
[SPEAKER_01]: Everything's got to be dramatic with him together. [SPEAKER_01]: They step forth into the eye of destiny and he makes this sort of move with his hands and the wormhole opens up and [SPEAKER_01]: And Dax is like now. [SPEAKER_01]: Now there's a lot of comedy in this episode. [SPEAKER_01]: I love.
[SPEAKER_03]: But we all have an uncle or someone in our life a relative that is core that's always very dramatic or whatever. [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I like the most that Dax is ordering war for round. [SPEAKER_03]: Mr. Warf lay in a course for the war pole. [SPEAKER_03]: There he goes.
[SPEAKER_03]: He gets to order him around. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Little while later, they're in the Gamma Quadrant. [SPEAKER_01]: Warf is doing [SPEAKER_01]: Mokbara's clinging on Tai Chi, which I learned. [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks, Dax, for introducing him to core. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, he was nervous, but he's glad that she pushed it and [SPEAKER_01]: He's honored to be on this mission and core enters gargling, which I thought was very funny.
[SPEAKER_05]: It was gross. [SPEAKER_05]: I was so afraid he was going to spin on the floor. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't hit. [SPEAKER_03]: I know. [SPEAKER_03]: He's going to do it. [SPEAKER_03]: He drank it, right? [SPEAKER_03]: He didn't. [SPEAKER_03]: He swallowed it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, what is this?
[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think it's mouth wash. [SPEAKER_05]: It's probably alcohol. [SPEAKER_05]: He just, yeah, that's what it is. [SPEAKER_02]: Clearly, it's not alcohol. [SPEAKER_02]: But to me, it's funny that he's gargling, lystery, clinging on lystery, and then he just drinks it at the end. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he talked about his dream that he had how he was in the Hall of Emperors.
[SPEAKER_01]: He found this sword and they [SPEAKER_01]: had a statue and then he transformed from the statue and to, you know, being alive and they sang his praises and King Coloth and Corps were together again. [SPEAKER_01]: So another kind of original series reference to the history of this character and clinging on traditions and all.
[SPEAKER_01]: So he's really fantasizing about [SPEAKER_01]: being a hero in a legend from this adventure. [SPEAKER_01]: And also it sort of hints at his ambitions, which come later, you know, seems like for me, it felt like he was just at this point in the story, just doing it for the noble cause of it all, but we come to see for the Empire.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, he has beef with, uh, Gauron as well. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, he doesn't say he talks about that. [SPEAKER_03]: So I almost you're right, right, ambitiousness or the, I feel like he wants to be the chancellor of the Klingon Empire like Gauron and so I feel like he's jealous of Gauron in a way.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, definitely later. [SPEAKER_01]: We have a space shot though of the run about flying, um, towards the planet here. [SPEAKER_01]: And it made me get it think of our conversation with Brian Fisher about how they were converting from practical models to CGI models. [SPEAKER_01]: And he mentioned how they were converting around this time, from the models to CG versions.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I bet we just saw the CG run about with what you think that was the CG run on that shot. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, practical it was it was actually computer generated. [SPEAKER_01]: That's correct. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but but I was saying back then they had to hand model these three D models.
[SPEAKER_01]: They had to do it all, you know, now it can be converted. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, through the computers, but he probably physically modeled that CG run about just a little and then they put it input it into the computer and then they can move it around. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but you have to.
[SPEAKER_05]: But they literally had to build it first. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: Wow. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a lot of work. [SPEAKER_01]: Brian, by the way, was the one person that built the defiant. [SPEAKER_01]: He did the defiant model. [SPEAKER_01]: The initial defiant model. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's a great interview.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's a great job. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's a great ship. [SPEAKER_01]: If you're a Patreon patron, check out that interview because he's really a great story. [SPEAKER_01]: Interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: The runabout is flying to the planet and we see that great shot and then we go back inside and DAX scans [SPEAKER_01]: The planet we find, there's tunnels, there's chambers.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is that Egyptian connection. [SPEAKER_01]: I think you, you put it personally, Terry. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like a pyramid. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: DAX finds the Herk Museum that they had a museum or something there. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's all that's left. [SPEAKER_01]: There's no Herk that are alive anymore.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just these tunnels in this museum. [SPEAKER_01]: and core points in the chamber. [SPEAKER_05]: Do we have any people that were picking up any humanoids? [SPEAKER_05]: Do we don't even talk about that anyway? [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, life science just the tunnels in this old chamber for the museum.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's really, it's abandoned. [SPEAKER_01]: And core points out, this is where the chamber is based on that map or whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: And he says, that's where the vault can said the batlet would be. [SPEAKER_01]: So we scan it, we find there's a force field around it. [SPEAKER_01]: And of course, like, that's not a problem.
[SPEAKER_01]: You'll get past it. [SPEAKER_01]: So he believes in Dax or core things, Dax will science her way out of anything. [SPEAKER_05]: And you know what, too. [SPEAKER_05]: We didn't really talk about is that this mission also was fostering the hope that this would make federation and the clingsons have kind of a coming together again, repair their relationship.
[SPEAKER_05]: It just occurred to me that [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we hadn't mentioned that. [SPEAKER_01]: Cisco said that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, we cut down into our classic Star Trek caves. [SPEAKER_01]: We wandered through these days. [SPEAKER_01]: We find a tunnel where that goes to this museum, but there's a force field around it.
[SPEAKER_01]: and Dax and Wurf together do a little science thing and take it down. [SPEAKER_01]: And I thought it was interesting that the little detail where they smell the air that's been, yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, great is that. [SPEAKER_05]: I was cool. [SPEAKER_05]: I like, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Wurf says it smells foul.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you get this sort of Indiana Jones vibe. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, like what's foul like dead rats or like seriously? [SPEAKER_01]: Just how old it is just old old air. [SPEAKER_01]: It's been there for some musty dank. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, course says it's been undisturbed for hundreds of years, but I thought it was thousands, but okay hundreds of years.
[SPEAKER_03]: What about the forced field dismantling? [SPEAKER_03]: We never did that on Voyager, Robbie. [SPEAKER_03]: I thought that was a thing. [SPEAKER_01]: No, we didn't have DAX. [SPEAKER_01]: We didn't [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, if we had that, you could have just been able to. [SPEAKER_03]: A lot of force fields.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: We go inside this Herk chamber and there's beautiful smooth walls in this museum. [SPEAKER_01]: Beautiful lighting in here. [SPEAKER_05]: So no one's been there for hundreds of years. [SPEAKER_05]: Where's the light coming from? [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: It's like one really old Herk guide.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a clean maintenance guy still. [SPEAKER_03]: They're cleaning a change in a light bulb. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a crazy light bulb. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm the only, you're like, I'm a surface, you know, how. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, maybe like a skylight that comes. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, too. [SPEAKER_02]: The comes starlight.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's a love there. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, the tubes that you can put throughout your house and they mirror it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Light down to wherever they can. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, that was invented by the herks. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, there you go.
[SPEAKER_05]: Wow. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, we're thanks to the people just like the Egyptians. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yes. [SPEAKER_03]: I'll tell you, when you walked into a herk home Depot, you could find everything. [SPEAKER_03]: He was amazing back then. [SPEAKER_01]: Dax says this place has been ransacked.
[SPEAKER_01]: Worf, like, well, maybe the Vulcan's got here, or someone got here. [SPEAKER_01]: The place is ransacked. [SPEAKER_01]: And we go to Crucial Break. [SPEAKER_01]: off of our ransacked museum. [SPEAKER_01]: We think we're at a dead end, but no. [SPEAKER_01]: Core thinks it's over when we come back.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's given up. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Worf kind of looks around very carefully. [SPEAKER_01]: I like what Lavar did in this act open because you had a three shot, the way the dialogue played out. [SPEAKER_01]: Worf kind of comes right towards the lens and goes off searching and it hands off to the two shot.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, Lavar's got a real instinctual sense of storytelling and the way he moves the camera. [SPEAKER_01]: you know, and a variety of tight shots and inserts and it never gets dull and it doesn't feel forced. [SPEAKER_01]: I think LeVar is really, really good. [SPEAKER_05]: He was a wonderful director to work with.
[SPEAKER_05]: He's very, uh, centered, calm, generous. [SPEAKER_05]: There was no stress around him. [SPEAKER_05]: It just felt really easy to be working with him. [SPEAKER_05]: I, I just really loved working with him and on time that he just smells freaking great. [SPEAKER_05]: at that time he took Lavender and would put Lavender in his hair and oh my gosh it was just like you go near him and it was like it definitely had that effect like I was in the spot.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was like the end of a yoga yoga studio. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was genius. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, the bar talked about how [SPEAKER_03]: he enjoyed the fact that he got to work with Michael again. [SPEAKER_03]: So having Dorne there on the set I'm sure was a little treat. [SPEAKER_03]: They're inside jokes from TNG days and kind of ribby each other.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: That must have been pretty cool. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, it's fun because they laugh more. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, we were going to see in Avery's office it's more serious. [SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, I was like I was in the boys club. [SPEAKER_01]: Warf is a searching around. [SPEAKER_01]: He finds some dust on the floor.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's not touching the edge of the wall. [SPEAKER_01]: Something's weird. [SPEAKER_01]: Dax scans it. [SPEAKER_01]: Realize that this wall is actually a false hologram wall. [SPEAKER_01]: a little more siencing and they disabled that one and they they step through this hologram of a wall.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Dax uses the herk DNA readings off the cloth to fool the hologram to pass through. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's a clever. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was cool. [SPEAKER_03]: That was. [SPEAKER_03]: So the whole thing with the dust, they're saying that the air was blowing it out from the other chamber.
[SPEAKER_03]: Is that what it was, guys? [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm trying something like that. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_05]: Because that's what makes sense. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: If the dust isn't touching, there has to be some air coming for them. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Push it away.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll go inside. [SPEAKER_01]: Daxco's in first, then, Warf, then core. [SPEAKER_01]: There it is. [SPEAKER_01]: The bat left. [SPEAKER_01]: the sword of Canis. [SPEAKER_05]: Actually, I'm that both of them go ahead of me, which I thought was weird.
[SPEAKER_05]: Did I see me? [SPEAKER_01]: You stepped through first, but then you told them to step to approach the sword. [SPEAKER_01]: You stayed away from you. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, OK. [SPEAKER_05]: I think there's somewhere else where I let them both go ahead and I thought, oh, I can't believe one of them isn't taking up the rear.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was definitely core was a lighter to go with, yes, later. [SPEAKER_03]: was the last one to go through the holographic, you know, image. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: The very beginning. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, you're right. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_05]: It was a different thing. [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe it was the first time we came in the chamber.
[SPEAKER_05]: Mm. [SPEAKER_05]: Anyway, there's some point where we're in the caves and it's just like, are you kidding me? [SPEAKER_05]: I don't understand why Dax isn't going first. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Or in the middle. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Let the big warriors take the caboose and the engine.
[SPEAKER_05]: Like, I should be in the middle. [SPEAKER_05]: They should be stronger than me, right? [SPEAKER_03]: See, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: So those acts as daddy's first. [SPEAKER_03]: I believe in, I believe in Dax. [SPEAKER_03]: It went Dax, more than core. [SPEAKER_03]: Correct. [SPEAKER_03]: In terms of their walking in his eyes.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_05]: I have a thing of a different scene. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: I kept thinking that a foreso was going to come up and core was going to like smack his nose into it for something. [SPEAKER_05]: I know that went through my mind. [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_05]: That would have been great.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oops, sorry, Kor, they see this sort of chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: Worf starts to approach and then he says, no, he thinks no, he wants Kor to be the first one to hold it. [SPEAKER_01]: And so Kor holds it for a moment. [SPEAKER_01]: That's sweet. [SPEAKER_01]: Has a beautiful moment and then Worf holds it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Worf's got a little speech here. [SPEAKER_05]: I love that. [SPEAKER_05]: It like touched his heart. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, when he's slew, mollar, conquered the Theccola, and forged the first empire. [SPEAKER_01]: Now I hold it in my hands. [SPEAKER_01]: He's got, he's kind of got some of that drama the core has had, which we don't usually see from, from war, from war.
[SPEAKER_05]: No, no, not that verbato, not like that. [SPEAKER_01]: Not like that. [SPEAKER_01]: It felt different. [SPEAKER_01]: It was nice. [SPEAKER_03]: Can I talk about this sword real quick, since we're due? [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: First of all, beautiful, beautiful looking battle of that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Or just, they designed it to look ancient and also gorgeous at the same time. [SPEAKER_03]: The final design of the Sword of Kales was done by Dan Curry based on an illustration by John Eaves. [SPEAKER_03]: Originally, Eaves was assigned to design the sword himself. [SPEAKER_03]: But after making some preliminary drawings, he went to Curry, who was the original designer of the batleth.
[SPEAKER_03]: and allowed him to finish the project. [SPEAKER_05]: I think that is a... That's so generous. [SPEAKER_05]: What? [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: That's a true collaboration and it makes my heart smile when I hear this. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, a hundred percent. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, collaboration makes everybody feel good.
[SPEAKER_01]: In the hurt chamber, uh, just as they start to leave because the stabilizers aren't going to hold on for too long. [SPEAKER_01]: Terrell and his thugs are right there. [SPEAKER_01]: They stop them. [SPEAKER_01]: The lathens. [SPEAKER_05]: What the heck? [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_05]: What the heck?
[SPEAKER_01]: So they read their mind and followed them until they [SPEAKER_01]: got this thing. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, that's right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: This was Tom Morgan's fault. [SPEAKER_01]: They went the batlet. [SPEAKER_01]: Terrell wants to rule the Empire basically. [SPEAKER_01]: Like Terrell says, if I have this, I could, I could be in charge.
[SPEAKER_05]: That is what would make it so much cooler if it had some kind of magical, that everybody wants it. [SPEAKER_05]: Like, what if it made you so much stronger? [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: It doesn't have to be that you can magically turn into anything, but if it gave you literal power, not just symbolic power, but physical mental, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, he man in the masses, the universe, that's sort. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I have the power. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, Worf pretends to give in. [SPEAKER_01]: Worf pretends. [SPEAKER_01]: He says, you know what? [SPEAKER_01]: If he really wants it, you should give it to him.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the way he read that line, I'm like, oh, here we go. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have a little bit of it. [SPEAKER_01]: Here we go. [SPEAKER_01]: Here we go. [SPEAKER_01]: There. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to give it to him. [SPEAKER_01]: And they fight. [SPEAKER_01]: Worf gets wounded in this and his shoulder.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but they beat everybody up and run away with the batleth, the lethian and Taral and his guys get up and give chase so they're all starting to run. [SPEAKER_01]: Worf knocks out this disruptor though and locks them in basically puts the force field back up. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was a very funny bit force will goes up and the clean run in and he goes [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it was like, ah, foil again.
[SPEAKER_01]: The reaction to me was just like, Keystone cops. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Abbot and Custell was couldn't eat it. [SPEAKER_05]: I was thinking, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But further on, they try to call the ship to get a beam out. [SPEAKER_01]: They can't connect with the ship because the clean-ons are using some kind of blocker.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is where core relives his victory over the clean-ons inside this fight we just saw. [SPEAKER_01]: very dramatic. [SPEAKER_01]: Dax does indulging by saying, I'm sure, well, because of course, as the first man in a thousand years to be killed by the sort of chaos, I killed that man and Dax kind of patronizing, police says, I'm sure he was very proud.
[SPEAKER_01]: I like you. [SPEAKER_01]: Your delivery was great in that. [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_05]: Like wrangling cats. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: We do establish these lizards at the top of this next scene. [SPEAKER_01]: We see a lizard kind of puppet it and moved in the foreground and I thought that was very cool.
[SPEAKER_05]: I liked it too. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: At first when it was far away, I thought it was, oh, did they use an iguana? [SPEAKER_05]: But it was like, no, no, it's not even real. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not even real. [SPEAKER_01]: It was popping it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a look like an alien animal, which we don't normally see alien wildlife.
[SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_05]: Do you know what it looked like? [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: It looked like they took those Kardashians rats that they have, and it was kind of doctored them up. [SPEAKER_05]: The bulls. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But this is seen where they passed the lizard.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we established these lizards and cord and wore for starting to get into it. [SPEAKER_01]: They're starting to bicker a little bit here. [SPEAKER_01]: core's criticizing war for sparing to her all's life. [SPEAKER_01]: Worf says core all drink, core drinks too much. [SPEAKER_01]: And so we see them starting to for the first time.
[SPEAKER_01]: Worf's idolizing core is starting to crack a little bit here. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Worf has had enough. [SPEAKER_05]: The core is losing his laughter. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: And part of this is due to the fact that they both have been, you know, they've in my mind.
[SPEAKER_01]: They've held this sword and they've both had a moment of feeling like, I have the power. [SPEAKER_01]: No, I have the power. [SPEAKER_01]: So they're starting to compete a little bit. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, their ego is driving how they're reacting in it now. [SPEAKER_05]: But that's why I thought there was some power to the sword.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: It seemed like that. [SPEAKER_05]: Like they didn't seem like as soon as they were holding, yeah, yeah, like it had some kind of grip on them. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Dax does defend Wurf in the scene to Core. [SPEAKER_01]: She says that Wurf idolizes you.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Core says, well, maybe I should have just left him on the space station after all. [SPEAKER_01]: So he's, you know, Core's losing his appreciation of Wurf as well. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, they're starting to have a pissing contest. [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_05]: They hunt a lizard hilarious all three of us are involved in killing this one lizard.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is an armored lizard. [SPEAKER_03]: So it's a little tougher than a regular lizard. [SPEAKER_05]: But holy cow, would you not trade that scene for a scene with an Indiana Jones kind of show up with the meat and not need to have that hole like we're hunting. [SPEAKER_05]: It just felt like a waste of telling a story time thing.
[SPEAKER_05]: It just, no, let's take that out and put something more poignant in. [SPEAKER_01]: It was kind of a low level action sequence, you know, or adventure sequence that you had to ridiculous all three of us needed to kill that thing. [SPEAKER_03]: But when they cook up that lizard, it sure does look like chicken.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but you could have skipped that part and gone right to us eating eating it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: What did they do to cook it? [SPEAKER_01]: They use the phaser to heat up the stone and then they put the meat. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a good idea.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: On the stone. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a whole like you were now. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: You were taking the cooked meat off of the that red hot stone, maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, they eat this rock cooked lizard and horses says that they can tell a very dramatic story of this hunt, basically.
[SPEAKER_01]: And worse again, getting more impatient, stop exaggerating. [SPEAKER_01]: Worf gets mad. [SPEAKER_01]: That he's eating food. [SPEAKER_01]: Like he's just picking out of now. [SPEAKER_01]: Like Worf gets mad at core for eating with his sword. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, he's using the sort of k-list to eat with.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's why he's mad. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm on Worf side. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, look, this is a treasure. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, he was a freak of relic. [SPEAKER_03]: You don't use it for every day, you know, eating of a lizard. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not a fork. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not a fork.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's mad at him. [SPEAKER_01]: They argue some more. [SPEAKER_01]: Basically, core saying, you have to live. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to live this experience. [SPEAKER_01]: You're going to use this sword. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not about these stories. [SPEAKER_01]: It's about something that we experience.
[SPEAKER_01]: Which I thought was an interesting philosophical argument about like our traditions meant to be kind of [SPEAKER_01]: honored and, you know, at a distance from us, or we supposed to live that tradition. [SPEAKER_05]: So is it more precious, leaving it on a wall? [SPEAKER_05]: Why not utilize what it was used for to begin with?
[SPEAKER_05]: Otherwise you have this fabulous tool that can help you. [SPEAKER_05]: You have hanging on the wall. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was an interesting story too. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: But I can understand using it like a fork is a little like, okay, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: A little disrespectful. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, core basically kind of suggests that he understands all of this better than anyone and he may be the person to lead the claim on empire with this thing. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, that moment. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because works like wait, are you saying your intentions to lead the Empire? [SPEAKER_01]: He's like, well, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying it's my intention to lead us to the surface. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, a lot of corbi sort of. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I didn't believe him.
[SPEAKER_05]: No. [SPEAKER_05]: No, this is where I was like, no. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: They're moving on with Dax's got to try corner out. [SPEAKER_01]: Course got the bat lift leading the way. [SPEAKER_01]: and Wurf is very worried now that course trying to take power in the Empire. [SPEAKER_01]: And Dax defends him though.
[SPEAKER_01]: She's like his hearts in the right place. [SPEAKER_01]: So she's playing referee now to reference my limbic. [SPEAKER_01]: This she's definitely. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_05]: Not the fun part. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh my gosh. [SPEAKER_03]: This whole conversation. [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like it should have been more hush hush, you know, because I know they sent him a way to go look for another [SPEAKER_03]: but he's how far away could he be like he's right around a corner and everyone's talking really that like anyway we don't think cork and handle this um he just walked out of the main cave he's right and he can still hear you so yeah that to me was like oh no it was my biggest issue with the scene I'm like why they're showing their hand and he can hear everywhere
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, of course. [SPEAKER_01]: I like Dax's line where she says, well, we got a problem. [SPEAKER_01]: There's one sword in both of you want it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: She just jumped into the chase. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm just imagining, like, Dax gets so fed up.
[SPEAKER_03]: She takes a sword, breaks it in half. [SPEAKER_02]: You get half. [SPEAKER_01]: You get half and walks away. [SPEAKER_01]: That does. [SPEAKER_01]: I like that the triangle, though, the dynamic of Dax being more and more in the middle of this problem, they come to a ledge and the caves.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this reminded me by the way, just on a personal note of the very first episode I directed Sacred Ground, we had some ledge work with Captain Janeway hanging off of the ledge and having faith. [SPEAKER_01]: And this scene reminded me of my very first directing opportunities, which was nice.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I did some cave climbing stuff on an episode of Enterprise as well. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh yeah, I remember doing this Star Trek cave climbing stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: It was fun. [SPEAKER_01]: It was fun to direct. [SPEAKER_05]: The caves are actually pretty cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they are.
[SPEAKER_05]: As long as your chairs nearby, so you can sit down. [SPEAKER_01]: And you have a mask for the dust. [SPEAKER_05]: Because it's a lock to be in that cement floor all day too. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: But no support in your shoes. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, the way they start that shot of them climbing on the edge of that precipice or whatever you want to call it is it's a close up on Dax's shoes of her feet, right?
[SPEAKER_03]: Then it then it pans back. [SPEAKER_03]: I kept feeling like why on God's green earth doesn't Starfleet have like a way mission shoes like like hiking boot kind of like you know I'm saying I thought about it too. [SPEAKER_03]: We wear dress shoes basically. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: All the time.
[SPEAKER_03]: All the time. [SPEAKER_03]: And we're wearing them on as we're climbing through caves and stuff. [SPEAKER_05]: And mine was just like a teeny piece of leather. [SPEAKER_03]: There's no grip on the bottom. [SPEAKER_05]: No. [SPEAKER_05]: Otherwise, I wouldn't have slipped when when I saved La Nara.
[SPEAKER_01]: Cours wearing his cling on boots and he slips. [SPEAKER_01]: He falls. [SPEAKER_01]: Worf grabs. [SPEAKER_01]: Hold of one end of it. [SPEAKER_01]: So they're both holding the sort of calis. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Cours hanging by the bottom side. [SPEAKER_01]: And they won't let go.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Worf says, Hey, there's a ledge right below you. [SPEAKER_01]: Just let go drop down to the ledge and court doesn't trust him. [SPEAKER_01]: He won't let go. [SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't see it. [SPEAKER_01]: He needs back. [SPEAKER_05]: He's holding on to my, I'm holding on to war. [SPEAKER_03]: To war.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm trying to help him have leverage. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: But no one can see the ledge. [SPEAKER_03]: Only Worf can support. [SPEAKER_03]: We see the ledge. [SPEAKER_03]: Supposedly see the ledge. [SPEAKER_01]: And then Dax, Dax says, Hold on. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll pull you up.
[SPEAKER_01]: The pulls both boys up and then the boys go off and Dax takes a look at the end of the scene. [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, I don't know if he was telling the truth. [SPEAKER_01]: She looks over. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_05]: And then how why I see this little note from Garrett. [SPEAKER_05]: why don't we try to pull them up immediately?
[SPEAKER_05]: That is a weird thing. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Like out of the blue, now they have strength, like because they were holding, like, oh my god, he's a bulletin dog. [SPEAKER_05]: You start to pull someone up right away. [SPEAKER_05]: You're right. [SPEAKER_03]: You're weaker and weaker, not stronger and stronger.
[SPEAKER_03]: So who's a little weird? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm glad you wrote that. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_05]: It didn't make sense when I was watching it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: I glad you wrote that because that was crazy. [SPEAKER_03]: Because the setup was, you're in your last breath.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's about to fall off, right? [SPEAKER_03]: Not like you have more energy. [SPEAKER_05]: You're fooling me struggling the entire time. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's the entire time. [SPEAKER_05]: And Michael Doran's much bigger than me physically. [SPEAKER_05]: And he was in great shape.
[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, he's like six, three and a half. [SPEAKER_05]: And I'm six feet. [SPEAKER_05]: But I mean, standing next to him, I'm like a little lady being next to his muscles and everything. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're deeper in the caves. [SPEAKER_01]: They argue about the ledge moment.
[SPEAKER_01]: Core draws his dagger. [SPEAKER_01]: He wants the bat-left. [SPEAKER_01]: Give it back to me. [SPEAKER_01]: Dax catches up with them. [SPEAKER_01]: She's like, enough. [SPEAKER_01]: Give me the bat-left. [SPEAKER_01]: I will hold that bat-left. [SPEAKER_01]: You two are driving me crazy.
[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_01]: Where it puts his dagger and she takes the thing and then Core takes off and Dax goes, he was right. [SPEAKER_01]: It says the worth. [SPEAKER_01]: He was right. [SPEAKER_01]: That was no ledge. [SPEAKER_01]: That ledge was so far down. [SPEAKER_01]: It wouldn't have saved him.
[SPEAKER_01]: It would have broken away. [SPEAKER_01]: So, DAX is mad. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, and I was mad at what's here. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That's a dirty trick, dude. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: And so it's great that they illustrated how he's not thinking straight.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, still in the tunnels, they're still walking DAX is very tired. [SPEAKER_01]: I was thinking at this point. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, they haven't done any silencing for a while. [SPEAKER_01]: It feels like the silencing helped them a lot.
[SPEAKER_05]: It's getting boring. [SPEAKER_05]: This episode, getting boring. [SPEAKER_05]: Why are we still in the caves? [SPEAKER_05]: And why isn't more things happening? [SPEAKER_01]: It's just mindless sort of walking. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_01]: They need to do some silencing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Or don't trust each other to go to sleep. [SPEAKER_01]: Dax is tired. [SPEAKER_01]: She's going to sleep on the sword, though. [SPEAKER_03]: She's going to sleep on the sword. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Holding your face, aren't you? [SPEAKER_03]: What?
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Impropt perfectly. [SPEAKER_05]: You know that was like a no Terry. [SPEAKER_05]: It'll work and you're like, are you sure? [SPEAKER_05]: My gosh, this is not look like I'm sleeping at all. [SPEAKER_01]: I like the close up of you there though. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a very flattering close up that pushed in as you were going to sleep.
[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, is there without weird moment where I looked both ways and it looked more like an eye commercial or make a commercial than I know. [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, [SPEAKER_02]: Robin, I did not see that eye camera.
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't see it. [SPEAKER_05]: Why should again, you will. [SPEAKER_01]: Whatever you did, I thought was great. [SPEAKER_01]: She's asleep. [SPEAKER_01]: Finally goes asleep with her face around ready for these two knuckleheads. [SPEAKER_01]: And Wurf yells and dacks wakes up, jumps up.
[SPEAKER_01]: They were just fighting going crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: These two, um, Wurf's like, I have had enough. [SPEAKER_01]: and wakes her up. [SPEAKER_01]: Just as they're about to physically fight, a phaser comes in, the whole Klingon gang is there. [SPEAKER_01]: Another big fight, they get attacked by all the Klingons who somehow science their way out of that force field.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I didn't know Klingons were very sciencey, by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they just broke it. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_05]: What I didn't like about that scene, I think I should have just stunned both of them, just boom, boom. [SPEAKER_01]: Back to back. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, worst got worse up on the, up on the wall and you, you stun war if he falls down. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: And then I should have just done both of both of them. [SPEAKER_05]: Have a now. [SPEAKER_03]: Ultimately, you do at the very end, right? [SPEAKER_05]: I know, but still like, yeah, just stop.
[SPEAKER_03]: I still find a funny that the scream, Robbie, when he says, I've had enough. [SPEAKER_03]: Dax is what in Worf says his eyes. [SPEAKER_03]: He's been staring at me for three hours. [SPEAKER_03]: That that's to me was hilarious. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, you can't stand it. [SPEAKER_03]: Looking at you.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like two little kids. [SPEAKER_03]: Mom, what's wrong? [SPEAKER_03]: He's looking at me. [SPEAKER_03]: He's looking at me. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not about being even physically accosted. [SPEAKER_03]: It's about the almost touch, but not changing. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm touching, but I'm not touching you.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not touching you. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, that's exactly what they're doing. [SPEAKER_01]: Warf grabs core and lifts him up in the wall. [SPEAKER_01]: Dax stuns Warf. [SPEAKER_01]: Course says, I knew you'd pick me and then she stuns core, which maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe it's just a comedic timing could have been a little tighter.
[SPEAKER_01]: Little sharper. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: But it's still was funny to me. [SPEAKER_03]: How did you guys get so far ahead of the other people that you can take a nap? [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying? [SPEAKER_05]: Like this must be this number of hours.
[SPEAKER_03]: This underground area must be massive. [SPEAKER_03]: It must be like the size of like the sandals. [SPEAKER_03]: I guess. [SPEAKER_05]: What is the reality that we're in? [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm so confused. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: It is confusing. [SPEAKER_03]: It's like the twilight zone down here.
[SPEAKER_05]: I watched it three times because the first time I was like [SPEAKER_05]: What is going on? [SPEAKER_05]: I don't remember this up. [SPEAKER_05]: So this is, I can't what I'm trying to keep track. [SPEAKER_05]: And the third one I just headed on this morning is I was getting ready to come on.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: And I just peek out a couple of times and go, I still hate the caves. [SPEAKER_05]: I thought too much time in the caves. [SPEAKER_01]: It's too much time in the caves without something new happening. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And to me, the story is this treasure has [SPEAKER_01]: triggered the egos and the selfishness of both war from core and they have to hit a rock bottom and I don't know that we ever hit a rock bottom like don't like it really get to a climactic I guess this moment where Warf is strangling him on the wall is supposed to be that but no, but then it happens one more time later [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_05]: Before we end up on the, uh, well, this is where you got the Rio Grande. [SPEAKER_01]: When you stunned the boys, yeah, you stunned the boys. [SPEAKER_01]: And then you go to Torral and like, I'm done with this. [SPEAKER_01]: I need to get back on the shuttle and then you go back to the shuttle.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, this is that point. [SPEAKER_01]: This is that point. [SPEAKER_05]: That was not bottoming out for me either. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It didn't quite bother not enough to browse in this scene, Robbie. [SPEAKER_03]: He's not in this scene, is he? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: What?
[SPEAKER_03]: In the scene where he throws him up against the wall and picks him off of the ground. [SPEAKER_03]: This is orphan and core fighting. [SPEAKER_03]: Just those two, right? [SPEAKER_03]: Well, they should just go straight. [SPEAKER_03]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_03]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_03]: Just go straight.
[SPEAKER_03]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_03]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_03]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_03]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_03]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_05]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_05]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_05]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_05]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_05]: Just go straight.
[SPEAKER_05]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_05]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_05]: Just go straight.
[SPEAKER_03]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_01]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_01]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_01]: Just go straight.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_01]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_01]: Just go straight. [SPEAKER_01]: they fight them beat them, but then war from court. [SPEAKER_01]: Keep fighting. [SPEAKER_03]: He's fighting at the end. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's when Terry when Dax is like, you two have to stop.
[SPEAKER_01]: She stuns them both. [SPEAKER_01]: Got it. [SPEAKER_03]: Got it. [SPEAKER_03]: Got it. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: It all bleeds together. [SPEAKER_03]: It all bleeds together. [SPEAKER_05]: You're right. [SPEAKER_05]: Do you know what bothers me, too? [SPEAKER_05]: And I was talking to Garrett about this.
[SPEAKER_05]: There are a handful of times when I tell them to stop it, but I don't physically get next to them and try to pull them apart. [SPEAKER_05]: And I think it looks like I was told to just stand there because it looks the impulse to go over and pull them apart. [SPEAKER_05]: felt like this role when I was watching it.
[SPEAKER_05]: Like why am I not becoming like it would have helped to in their most what if they hurt me? [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: That would have helped smack them into what the heck are you guys doing? [SPEAKER_00]: Sure. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: For me, I mean, it would just add [SPEAKER_05]: more a more real response.
[SPEAKER_05]: It would have been organic frustration. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: My frustration of them acting like children should be also had an apex as well as their own frustration with each other. [SPEAKER_05]: All of the should have like exploded. [SPEAKER_03]: They allowed you to react verbally, but not physically where you would have pushed them away.
[SPEAKER_03]: You would have got between the two. [SPEAKER_05]: It just didn't feel authentic. [SPEAKER_01]: It felt like a very, very muddy at this point in the story. [SPEAKER_01]: I just got muddy in this section. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Too many times too much of the same.
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to rewrite. [SPEAKER_01]: I do. [SPEAKER_05]: I want to rewrite. [SPEAKER_05]: Let's rewrite this. [SPEAKER_05]: Let's make it a script. [SPEAKER_03]: Let's make it a feature feature film like feature film. [SPEAKER_01]: I think Levar will come back and directed. [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, nothing on him. [SPEAKER_01]: We're back on the Rio Grande. [SPEAKER_01]: Dax is the story of those. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I like Dax is the boss. [SPEAKER_01]: She's boss. [SPEAKER_01]: She's clearly like she's had enough of these two. [SPEAKER_01]: She's boss now.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're from court just stare at the at the the sword, which they've put on a pedestal. [SPEAKER_01]: We're not sure exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: Where's that pedestal from? [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's really nice. [SPEAKER_05]: Can we go all the way back to get the pedestal? [SPEAKER_03]: Let's go back for the pedestal.
[SPEAKER_05]: We could have more scenes in the tunnel. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a replica pedestal. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, so didn't cost that. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, there you go. [SPEAKER_01]: They put it in the pedestal. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_05]: It was that big. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Worf and cord just staring at it, which I love their faces and this, but they're just like.
[SPEAKER_01]: staring at the sword. [SPEAKER_01]: Worf says the story turned sword, turned them against each other, and he says it's not their destiny to keep it, and they beam it away. [SPEAKER_01]: And death says, this is for the best. [SPEAKER_01]: And Worf says, you know, when it's truly destined to be found, it will be.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we cut out to space. [SPEAKER_01]: We see this shuttle flying away. [SPEAKER_01]: And then the sword tumbles through the foreground. [SPEAKER_01]: I like that. [SPEAKER_01]: That was funny. [SPEAKER_05]: I had to rewind. [SPEAKER_05]: Like, did I miss something? [SPEAKER_05]: It felt like a whole scene was missing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they jump the story there, like, to keep us in suspense about what, wait, what are they doing with the sword? [SPEAKER_01]: We don't know what they're doing until we see it. [SPEAKER_05]: But I hate shows where suddenly everything's resolved, but we didn't see it.
[SPEAKER_05]: The interesting part is watching people work through something. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Not to have it instantaneously. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, now it's over. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we don't see any of that. [SPEAKER_05]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I, I, at the very end, when you realize they've been into space, I kept thinking, why are you guys contributing to space debris?
[SPEAKER_03]: We already have enough space debris right now. [SPEAKER_03]: Why? [SPEAKER_03]: They should have been into it on to a planet or something, just some random, you know, cave, another cave. [SPEAKER_04]: Put in the time capsule and bury it. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I mean, what? [SPEAKER_01]: It's really going to be lost now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if it was lost before, not super lost, super lost. [SPEAKER_05]: You found the Holy Grail, would you just like check it out and just say, no, I would not. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, Robbie, what is your lesson from this episode? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's funny because I didn't really say much in our recap when you guys were both saying, oh, I wish this sword had a power, like could do something.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't actually, because to me, yeah, to me the theme [SPEAKER_01]: the central lesson is that sometimes we give symbols too much power. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's these symbols sort of motivate people to do things that they wouldn't do, but they're inspired by this mythology or whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think it's what we actually do in life that matters, not these symbols shouldn't drive us.
[SPEAKER_01]: So to me that was a big part of the story is that this is just a freaking sword. [SPEAKER_01]: Like why are you giving it this [SPEAKER_01]: magical power, you know, that you can run the clean on empire, just because you have a stupid sword. [SPEAKER_01]: To me, that was a big lesson, and if it did have some kind of power, that lesson wouldn't have been as true.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it was all done putting in power. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, sure. [SPEAKER_01]: There are feelings on this thing, this object. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, that's to me, symbols can have too much power. [SPEAKER_01]: I like kind of mess with our minds a bit. [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, so to add on to that, I was like sometimes what you think, a person, a place, a thing, the idea, the fantasy in your mind, kind of takes over what you think it is.
[SPEAKER_05]: And then when it's revealed what the truth is, the authentic truth of the person, the place or thing, you need to stop. [SPEAKER_05]: Right. [SPEAKER_05]: And stop the fantasy and go wait a minute. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: This is I had this whole fantasy of what this is going to bring me give me.
[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: And it's just not true. [SPEAKER_05]: It's just a thing or it's a person that's not good for me. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, look what it's doing to them. [SPEAKER_05]: So you have to really slow down. [SPEAKER_03]: be more yeah mine full of what's really going on yeah very similar similar ideas yeah yeah i i initially wrote mine as being uh beware of power corrupting that's what i initially wrote as my lesson yet but then i i saw a quote from i don't know one of the writers and they're basically saying that um [SPEAKER_03]: You know, with the treasurer of Syramadra, it's just, it's all about getting that gold, that treasurer that just corrupts everybody and makes them go crazy.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then I kind of extrapolated the lesson from, you know, that we've learned from Voyager before, it's not the destination that matters. [SPEAKER_03]: It's the journey, right? [SPEAKER_03]: So they're so, so focused on getting the sword, right? [SPEAKER_03]: That they didn't even look at, like, [SPEAKER_03]: look, we just went on this huge adventure to find this thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they didn't we learn from this adventure. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's not a single. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: What are we getting from this. [SPEAKER_05]: No joy. [SPEAKER_03]: No joy. [SPEAKER_03]: No joy and no smelling of the roses. [SPEAKER_03]: They didn't smell any rose at all.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, the way they were just so. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, just. [SPEAKER_03]: complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, complete, [SPEAKER_05]: glory cannot be found within an object, but within the heart.
[SPEAKER_05]: You know what? [SPEAKER_05]: I wish I had Andrew sitting right next to me, but my thoughts together, so much more concise and point it. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you very much, Andrew. [SPEAKER_03]: Well said. [SPEAKER_03]: Well said. [SPEAKER_03]: All right. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, we've come to the end of this one.
