In episode 50 of The Gradient Podcast, Daniel Bashir (twitter.com/spaniel_bashir) speaks to Professor Yoshua Bengio.
Professor Bengio is a Full Professor at the Université de Montréal (umontreal.ca) as well as Founder and Scientific Director of the MILA-Quebec AI Institute (mila.quebec/en) and the IVADO institute (ivado.ca/en). Best known for his work in pioneering deep learning, Bengio was one of three awardees (awards.acm.org/about/2018-turing) of the 2018 A.M. Turing Award along with Geoffrey Hinton (cs.toronto.edu/~hinton) and Yann LeCun (yann.lecun.com). He is also the awardee of the prestigious Killam prize (canadacouncil.ca/funding/prizes/killam-prizes) and, as of this year, the computer scientist with the highest h-index in the world (scholar.google.com/citations?user=kukA0LcAAAAJ…).
