In this solo episode, I break down how to make money with Meta Muse by mining Facebook groups, Marketplace, and Instagram to match buyers with sellers. The idea came after my wife and I had a baby and the agency we hired for a night nurse admitted it found candidates in Facebook groups. I demo Muse finding night nurses at $30 an hour in Montreal, show how to give it a phone number through Bland AI, and share the Marketplace and Instagram tactics I'd use. I close with my four-level framework for growing a matching side business into a trusted list, a community, and a vertical software company.

Key Points
• Muse mines public Facebook groups, Marketplace, and Instagram to match buyers and sellers in any niche and city.
• A clean list of names, needs, prices, and trust signals is an asset I own and can sell later.
• Facebook groups, business pages, and IG niche pages look undervalued as Muse agents start crawling them.
• I tell Muse where to look, and Facebook groups gave me the highest quality data.
• My four levels: mine the data, own the list, own the room, then build technology.
• A lean cost structure lets me charge a success fee of a few hundred dollars and keep high margins.

We got to talk about making money with Facebook Muse. I mean, if you are looking for a way to make an internet dollar and you are not playing with personal agents like Muse, I don't really understand. I wanted to come on here and make an episode for people who are looking for arbitrage opportunities to go and use AI to make money.
I got to think that using Facebook Muse right now or Muse, Meta Muse as they're calling it, is probably one of the ways that, you know, to make your first internet dollar might be one of the easier things to do. I haven't seen anyone talk about tactically how you can go and make, say, a million dollars using personal agents yet and what they'd actually do.
And when I look at this, when I look at the arbitrage opportunity that exists here, it absolutely blows my mind. And by the way, by the end of this episode, I'm going to explain how it works, how you can do it, why I think this is a big opportunity, some tips and tricks. some tools you can use, some ideas.
But stick with me for some amount of time while I crash out about why this is just an incredible opportunity to make your first internet dollar or make your second internet dollar. Today's episode is brought to you by Brex. My company's been on Brex for a year and a half, and I started because I kept hearing companies like Vercel, OpenAI, Anthropic were using Brex, and I figured if they're using it, why shouldn't I?
It's been a game changer. The thing that got me is how smooth it is. It's got high limit cards. It's got banking. It's got AI that handles the back office busy work like expense reports, which I don't want to do on its own. It's really just built for this agentic world. If you're building something new, it's time to get Brex.
Check it out at brex.com slash solutions slash startups. Link in the description. I recently had a baby. My wife had a baby. We had a baby. And we were looking for a night nurse. And I couldn't find one, really. Went through friends and stuff. Then went and spoke to an agency. The agency basically admitted that they were going through Facebook groups and looking at, say, Miami night nurses or South Florida night nurses or New York night nurses and they would bring them to here.
And I was like, that's crazy that I would pay a fee for that when I could use Muse to go and do that in today's day and age. We need to take a step back and realize that you can now use Muse to go and mine Facebook groups, Marketplace, and Instagram. I have no affiliation with Meta. I mean, I even said, you know, I think I even called the name of this product wrong.
I called it Facebook Muse. It's Meta Muse. The point is, what they are doing is in some ways cannibalizing the billions of users that exist on Facebook groups, Marketplace, and Instagram. and allow you to go and create some sort of arbitrage. So I think it's just one of the greatest ways to make a business.
I think that there's going to be a thousand plus millionaires that are birthed from this era. And I want to talk about, by the end of this episode, we'll talk about how I actually think that you can take one of these small businesses that you start using Metamuse, And then turn it into something bigger.
So let's get into why I think this is such a big opportunity. There's all these buyers here, literally billions of buyers on the internet. And they're going on to places like Facebook groups, like Marketplace, like Instagram, asking for help. In my case, it was care for a newborn. And then there's these sellers who are like, I can do this thing.
I can do this thing. Who needs it? Now, what you need to be thinking about is if you want to create this side hustle or side business or full on business, what is a niche? What is a city? What are the rules and how do you approve people in this sort of thing? By the way, I've got some extra business ideas and some notes I took on how to get the most out of Muse if you want to build a business with it.
And I want to give it away. If this episode gets 5,000 likes, comments, and subscribe. So go stop, hit pause, go like, comment, subscribe. If it gets 5,000, I'll include it as a pinned comment on YouTube where you can go and click the link and get it for free. Let's see if it gets there. You know what you got to do.
What's going to happen here is if we're picking night nurses in Orlando, all of a sudden you can start one of those agencies. And it's just high margin, right? Because you don't have to hire people to go through these agencies. Facebook groups anymore. You know, Muse is doing the work and watching everything.
Muse is doing all the structure, the matching, the drafting DMs, the calls and texts and booking. And we'll get into how it can actually do calls in a second or in a bit, but it can actually do all those things. And I know that there's people being like, okay, wow, you're just like... You're kind of doing some information arbitrage here.
There's no business here. There's no value in that. You own the asset. So all of a sudden, Muse is cleaning. Think of this as dirty data. Not everyone who's posting on Marketplace, on groups, on Instagram is high quality. But Muse is going to actually do the cleaning of the data to... Basically, put it on a list, and you can use Airtable, Google Sheets, whatever you use, but have a repository of the data where now you have this compounding piece of data of names who have needs, who have prices, who have trust signals that, by the way, eventually you could sell.
I think I want to do a whole other episode on data. data brokering and this whole idea of what data means and how you can sell it. We're going to probably do another episode on that. So just punt that. We'll get to that in another episode. But you own that asset. That asset is yours. It's yours to keep.
And that's worth a lot of money. And that's why I think that there's... you know, thousands of businesses, conservatively speaking, even niches, time cities, night nurse in Tampa, furniture in Austin, plumbers in Phoenix. And for the first time ever, you could clean the data using Muse, using Muse, right?
So it's, By now, you've probably seen it, played with it. The fact that I can go and say, hey, I want a list of night nurses who are $30 an hour in Montreal, Canada, And it's going to search public data. So it's going to go through public Facebook groups. It's going to go through, you know, if you ask it, it'll go through Instagram.
You know, Marketplace is fully public. Now, it doesn't go into private groups. So if you do want it to go into private groups, you do need to join those groups. But you can basically have this as your little agency. Like you've now gone and incubated an agency that connects this need with the, you know, The need and the demand and the supply.
There you go. And that's what this whole thing is. And I sound old because I've been doing this a long time. I remember when eBay was first becoming a thing, eBay was a similar thing too where it was this whole new marketplace and people made millions of dollars on eBay when eBay was a thing. The top people made millions of dollars when they realized, oh, hey, I just got to figure out what are some unique products that I can go and sell.
That marketplace didn't exist. And there's a tremendous amount of value in connecting the buyer and seller. So I had to come on here and I was just like, I know this is really simple when you break it down like this. Like, oh yeah, there's this... information arbitrage that exists. But there's just tremendous amount of opportunity in this.
Like, Meta is cannibalizing all these platforms in some way because you're allowed to use Muse to go and actually do this thing, right? So, like, here we can see... you know, it's soon $30 Canadian an hour. And it just gives me a list of people. So now I have to go and clean this data in the sense of like, is Beatrice, a Beatrice actually high quality?
Or, um, you know, maybe she doesn't have a lot of experience. So how can I go and do that? And there's a lot of questions around the cleaning of the data. We're going to get into that in a second. But I think the point is each niche and each demand, there's going to be a different way. There's not a one size fits all for you to clean the data.
People are going to be asking how you do it. So it's going to be at a high level, it's going to be about like, what do people want? What is your ICP want? And how can I put it in a Google Drive, in an Airtable, in a Google Sheet such that I can actually connect these people? If you scroll down here, people are actually giving Muse a dedicated number by connecting it to Bland AI's agent phone plan.
It's called AgentLine, no affiliation. But basically it's a non voice over IP US number with talk and text. So you can literally sign up for a Bland AI account. It's I think 15 bucks for agent phone plan. All of a sudden your muse agent, you can say you can prompt your muse agent, get yourself a phone number and call me.
And all of a sudden, your incubation, your agency, you can call people, you can have it reach out to people, you can have it close sales for you. This is the state of where we're in today. Yeah, and it'll go, it'll draft it and reach out to people. And we can ask it, how did you find these people? Which groups?
Also, can you look on Instagram? And it's probably going to say, yeah, I went on this Facebook group, right? Which leads me to, by the way, a whole other point, which is, you know, it's really undervalued right now, like insanely undervalued. Well, definitely, definitely Facebook groups. I think there's 1.8 billion monthly active users, if I'm not mistaken.
So if you believe that we're going to have millions of Muse agents going and crawling Facebook groups, why aren't you creating a Facebook group right now? Why aren't you creating a Facebook group right now? Because they're going to be searching those things. And by the way, whole arbitrage opportunity around buying Facebook groups right now.
Now go look at the terms of service of Facebook. I'm not sure how kosher that is, so go and check that out. But if you're able to do it and if it is good by terms, they're probably undervalued right now. Other thing that's probably really undervalued right now is just business pages, right? Facebook business pages.
Facebook could crawl. Sorry, that Muse can crawl, right? So you can go and create like Miami, the Miami agency for night nurses or the Montreal night nurse agency, undervalued. And then IG, obviously pages too, just pages that Muse is going to crawl. IG niche pages is now undervalued. And I know like, How could they be undervalued?
They're so big right now. They're undervalued in this personal agent age. So let's look. So there were no groups. It came from public listing sites. And it did an Instagram sweep, so it added people on Instagram. And I'm going to say, okay, I want you to give me 20 people, not people, night nurses, from Facebook groups.
Quality there is highest. So, yeah. The default, that's really interesting. So the default is it's not going and sort of cannibalizing Facebook groups, right? But you can prompt it to go and do that. And I'm finding some of the highest quality data is coming from Facebook groups. So, the bigger idea here is, yes, there's these marketplaces that Meta owns that you can go in and grab stuff from, but there's also a whole set of other mines or other marketplaces that you can go for.
When you're figuring out what your niche is, obviously you want to add other marketplaces. But to start, there's just so much good stuff. Facebook groups, marketplace, Instagram. If you're buying and selling services, there's this stupid amount, this absolutely absurd amount of opportunities that exist right now.
Let's go down here and see what we got. So the interesting thing about Marketplace is it's all public. So all the data is public. So think about where is there mispriced or mislabeled listings, where are there bad photos or no details, things that are sitting for a long time. How can you bundle up a bunch of stuff in different locations split it up and resell.
Go and look for things that are pickup only. Have Muse basically say like, oh, go and find me pickup only pianos and go and bring them together and then ship them. Pianos, bad example because they're heavy. But you know, You get the idea, right? Mac minis. Go and pick up only Mac minis. You can have Muse basically look at when the prices drop or relisted because those are more willing to take an offer.
And then you can have Muse negotiate on your behalf. So... And then we talked a little bit about this, like Instagram, so many good places to mine. You can mine comments, you can mine the bios, you can mine stories. What I've noticed is you have to tell Muse. Like Muse doesn't come up with these ideas themselves.
You saw it in my demo. It looked at public data for CanadianNanny.ca. Probably not the best place to start. Right. And someone actually who's looking for newborn care, I know that that's not a great place, not the best place to start. So you have to go and tell it that. And Meta's smart, right? Zuck is smart.
He's not going to, by default, cannibalize Marketplace and Instagram. You've got to go and tell him. But it's remarkable at how good it is. Let's go back to Muse. Okay, it's still cooking. The other thing I wanted to talk about is, this is kind of how I'm thinking about it, is there's three levels to this whole personal agent thing.
arbitrage opportunities. The first level is mining. You're finding gold in other people's groups, on marketplace in general, on IG. The second level is once you own the list. Once you take it off platform and you've cleaned it, you've priced it, and you've created a trusted list, you've now created some value of your business.
The third level is owning the room. owning the Facebook group, owning a niche IG, having marketplace storefronts. This is the natural progression. And I actually think, you know what? There's actually another level. The other level is, and we'll put it here, level four, is build technology. So once you've built an audience here, you've got clean data, and you understand the workflow, it's what startup can I build that could automate this end-to-end?
And this is like building SaaS, this is building agents, vertical agents, this is building vertical harnesses. If you listen to the Startup Ideas podcast, this podcast, you know that I'm kind of obsessed with a lot of that stuff. And I'll include more episodes in the future on how to do that. But I think this is why I think this isn't just a, I can make $1,000 a month or $2,000 a month.
a real opportunity to go down the levels, learn about a niche, learn about a workflow, start cleaning the data, building your audience, and then building technology that automates that, that actually creates a ton of value. in terms of enterprise value. Now the question you might have is how do you create an audience doing this?
And what's really cool about Muse is you can actually go and do, you can actually go and have it research people on IG and formats on IG and have it starting to help you create content, ideas and stuff like that for you. So I would use Muse as your content hub. I might do a whole other episode on... like carousels and tactical like content stuff.
But like high level, Muse is a really good place to go and check out, you know, explore Instagram, see what's working, have it like run your account for you. And that's sort of the four level framework. Let's see if Muse is ready. All right. So it's gone in mind the actual group posts. It looks at like Montreal moms looking for babysitters, babysitter needed in Montreal, West Island community Montreal, Montreal cash jobs, Filipino caregiver Montreal, ranked by quality parents recommendations first.
I'm not going to go through this, but like just by looking at this, this seems just really, really high quality. If I'm looking and think about it, right? Like if you're looking for a night nurse, would you be willing to pay someone a few hundred dollars success fee if you connect them? In the old economic breakdown, when you had to hire an agency and there's a team of five people going and doing all this stuff, that might have cost you thousands of dollars.
But now the cost structure is so much less, so you can pass on the savings to the parents while also making insane, insane margins. Marketplace is where Muse is buying and selling things. I think there's a ton of opportunity in terms of physical goods, buying and selling things. This is like your Gary V strategy there, where he goes into garage sales and buys and sells things.
That's not what excites me the most. I'm more interested in the services component. And that's really... mostly in groups. So Muse hears needs. Instagram, Muse finds people, proves they're good, watches their life's moments, and builds an audience of your own so you own trust and attention. There you have it, folks.
This is just my raw thoughts on... an incredible opportunity that exists right now. I'm not sure how long it's going to last. One question that people might have for me is, does it have to be Muse? What about dots? What about instinct? What about the other ones? Personal agent platform has their pros and cons.
What Muse is just extraordinary at is mining Facebook groups, Instagram, and Marketplace and, Also, they're pushing it really heavily right now. In terms of mainstream adoption, they might be number one. We'll see. I think that Dots is really interesting too. It feels very intelligent. The models feel really good.
I will say that I upgraded to the $100 a month plan on Muse. Yeah. I think there's a free plan, $100 and maybe $200 a month. The difference, I think, is you get access to a better model. I think it's Muse Wonderful instead of Spark. And you get more tokens. So if you actually are serious about doing, you start with a free one, obviously, and you start earning clients, earning money, and then as you grow, that's when you upgrade.
Around the who's going to win this personal agent battle, I don't know. But I think Muse has a very strong horse in the lead. And I think with Facebook Groups Marketplace and Instagram, they are really good. So thank you for listening. I hope this got your creative juices flowing. I'm happy you spent some time with me.
I can't wait to see what you build, sell, grow, have fun. This is the greatest time in history of your building. It just fires me up, so I have to come up here and say something. I'll see you in the comments section. I read every single comment. I'll see you next time. Later.
