Creation & Redemption - Part 21
Self-Care or Self-Harm?
With Rabbi Ari Sollish
Recorded live at The Torah Center ATL on Sunday, August 30, 2026
The Kabbalists teach that a small hole in the body is a large hole in the soul. Every neglected need, every crack we let slide, opens somewhere much deeper than it looks. Guard the body, the mystics warn, because the soul has no other home.
And yet elsewhere the same tradition warns that the strength of the body weakens the soul. Feed the flesh too well and the spirit shrinks to make room. So which is it? Guard the body like it's sacred, or hold it at arm's length so the soul can breathe?
In this session of Kabbalah Café we explore the fine line between self care and self-harm.
The Torah Center ATL takes pride in offering innovative, inclusive, and impactful educational programs to all. People from a diverse spectrum of life find the Torah Center to be a warm and non-judgmental community in which to experience the richness and authenticity of Jewish learning and heritage.
