Hey venturers, support Venture Forth by hitting that subscribe button. How do you like me now? I'm Ramsey.
Philippa.
Sure.
Elya.
And I'm your DM, Sat. Welcome to Venture Fourth.
Gather around ye gentles, I've another tale to tell Of woe-begotten heroes and repentant now duels.
Of villains and their scheming and the fools that heed the call. Sweet melodies to ensure that they venture.
For they venture.
For they venture, dueling dragons in a dungeon, toppling trolls till the tolls are peeled. Of course they venture. For they venture, thou mayest have to trust an archvay when a devil's at thine heels. When last we left our heroes in a tavern or a cave. They dispatched a doctor's place, her found some sun and tops to save.
There's a mage with much ambition. There's a morgan at the gate. The real threat of politician. It's done and at their feet.
No, no, what they venture. They'll be hacking with some hard in freaking mimics, lying wait.
Cleaving cloakers into clothing, hacking and takes into plate.
What they venture, bringing justice to the helpless speaking, it will do us big. They forsake their broken star.
When last we left our heroes. As the revelry of first sprouting continued in BlackRock, a quiet conversation began at Sooth and Sal's. Emboldened by her rising concern for her ailing family. It did. Um, emboldened by her rising concern for her ailing family, Dena Roche confided in Phil, one of the great secrets of the group.
And Phil, never the doctor and scholar, gave her word to help in whatever way she can as the family attempts to find the source and cure to whatever is ailing. Reese and Alia. Elsewhere, other members of the groups were having very different experiences. Shaw, Phil, and Elya got themselves a drink in the very crowded red thorn, and Ramsay plucked a tune over his own rituals within the split keel.
But everyone's having a great time. You made your way across town and arrived at Sooth and Salves just in time to see goblinoid figures skulking along the rooftop, shattering the windows, and pouring into the Roche residence. Combat ensued, and victory still hangs in the balance as we return to the top of initiative order with Dana Roche.
Yeah, how did the how did the Forgers know this was gonna happen? That's what I said! They knew something was they're evil. I think they are.
But guess what? They led they instead of leaving Phil and instead of leaving Phil, an unconscious Reese, and Dana all alone against all of these enemies, they were like, we'll send all of her friends to help.
But how how did they know? How did they know in the first place?
The key to a good the key to a good misdirect, you know? You gotta kinda make it look like uh an extra. But as we return to top initiative, Dana. Oh man, she is here. Kill him is Phil under top initiative.
Grappled.
Phil is grappled.
Do you yell help someone No, I don't know you guys are here. You Oh true.
Yeah, true. Well you might have heard me. Well, you might have heard me scream. Maybe I'm grappled.
You're preoccupied for sure. Phil's fighting for air. Yeah. Um, yeah, Phil is fighting for air.
Ramsey's in the window. Phil is grappled. This other guy just tried to kill you. I think Dena knows well Phil well enough. Where is Denna? She knows you are not good on the show. She's in the corner.
I thought she was gonna abandon you.
I was like, oh, she loves you too, though. She'll be fine.
She's gonna move here.
And Ramsay's in the bedroom now.
Oh, okay. Classic Ramsey. Classic Ramsay in the bedroom. Typical Ram, too. In the bedroom. Uh Dena sidles up next to you, Phil. Ramsay's here. And she is going to bring both swords down and she's gonna attempt to try to break the grapple on you. Yeah, this creature. So two attacks. Um this guy. That is a lot.
Very good. That good lord, Mom. Okay. Um she hits twice. Uh so from the first strike, that is going to be uh one sorry, eight points of slashing damage. Two. Oh, she's gonna make it a dread strike. So add two d6, it's uh nine points of slashing plus seven psychic for a total of 16 points of damage. The second attack also hits um, she can only do that once per turn.
Five plus another 10 points of slashing damage. Um, and with that, I'm going to allow, as she like hammers onto his arms, off turn, I'm gonna let you make a dexterity saving throw against the D. Or excuse me, uh either your choice of acrobatics or athletics check against this DC at advantage to see if she can break the so she's like hammering on his arms, like trying to break the ground.
Damn, he's hanky. He is he is hanky.
Mommy, mommy, DM Daddy, DM.
DM Daddy, mommy. Mommy, thanks, mommy.
Okay.
Okay, it's gonna be acrobatics at advantage.
Yeah, acrobatics at advantage.
That popped out.
The first one was alright, right? I mean 14. 13 is what you need. Yes. So you are out. Okay. As the as like between you and Dena, like slamming onto this creature's arms, the cuts across the enlacerations, it re- it releases you from your grapple. You're no longer grappling.
Amazing.
For now. For now, uh, that is going to end her turn, and she's gonna risk the op attack and back up again to get in the doorway. Um as she moves in. Um, she's got hunter's mark up. She can't drop it. Okay. The creature's gonna use his reaction to try to hit her. Um she's gonna risk it.
It's okay. Fucking hell.
Not no, you don't get the call. Okay.
But it's a disadvantage because she just took the mace last time from the dining window.
It's not a disadvantage.
Um well, because I wanted it to be.
Why would it be a disadvantage? Because I want it to be.
Because I understand.
I asked really nicely.
Alright, Phil's there. Mama Roche. I've got I've got something for this. Mama Roche can take away.
Wait, one second. How far is my baby from him?
From him, ten feet away.
Okay, one second.
But it's right in between them.
One second. It can. But I need to know.
I think it's within it ha the bird has to be within five feet of the attacker. Let me see. Let me pretty sure, but worth checking.
Yeah.
I think the sight line's fucking me. So then that would have been close.
But I moved. No, but it's got to be within five feet of the attacker.
The attacker. Even if the reach is hitting farther away, then it backs away to attempt to go away. The mace catches her flush in the back of the head and she falls unconscious. Can I see?
Can I see this? DM, probably not. It's around the corner.
No, she falls as soon as she leaves the reach. Right, right, right, right. Um wait. No, I have to see the attack for what I want to do.
So thematically, you probably see her later.
I will say her fall. You see her fall because she does leave his reach at 10 feet because they've got crazy reach. So as she moves forward, she falls to the ground unconscious.
Um, where did the attack happen? Because it's it's on an attack roll of one creature you can see within five feet of the ground.
Yeah, but it's five feet of what? It has to be within five feet of the attack. Reach doesn't count. Yeah. So the creature, yeah. Yeah, so it's you're yeah, regardless, your creature's not within it. Nice try. It was worth a shot. It was definitely worth a shot. Uh we're about to be in the room. That's just bad luck.
Yeah, I mean, like, I'm blind. We're fine. It's all right. She takes a total of 30 points of damage from the crit. Very, very, very high rolls. Um. No. Not enough to kill us.
I should have killed the other one instead of killing that one.
But that is good. That is gonna end her turn. Bad luck. Hunter's mark drops. Uh-huh. That ends Dennis' turn and brings us to Shaw.
Um, okay, so I have an action, a bonus action, and a movement. How does this blindness work? Do I do it at the end of my save? Yeah, end of your turn. My turn. End of your turn, you get another option. Okay, well, I guess I just I don't know what's going on in the room. I'm fucking blind. I know this guy's right here next to me and he tried to grapple me.
I'm gonna attack this guy. Okay. That's all I would do. I don't know anything else. You got this. Um I probably can't put a poison on. I gotta I gotta feel.
No, you can. There's no reason to be. You can feel that. I mean, you know your kit. That's true. You know what I mean? I would say that that to me doesn't uh seem like something. I mean, it'd be like drawing a weapon blind. You could do that.
Well also it doesn't go away for a bit. So if I miss, it's fine. I'll stop using that. So then yeah, a bonus action. Uh I pull I'll pull uh a dark green Icarish uh vial out and pour it down the hilt of the diagonal.
I just think it's dark green.
I have them coated with uh rabbit, I don't know. What do you think? Actually, do you want to do it? No, I'll probably I'll reach in my bag and I'll grab one. Do you want to roll? Sure.
Randomly. That's fun. That's absolutely.
So I have basic poisons, brood poisons, dizzy, and killjoy. Okay. So I'll just go down all this. Bacon basic is one, brood is two, dizzy is three, killjoy's four. Alright. Dizzy two. I really want the dizzy, yeah. Alright. Two. Okay, brood is fine. I could potentially do the the poison ignition. So I will use a strong one.
So I'll pull out a uh a vial. Yeah.
Bitch, son of a bitch.
And I'll pour the vial down the dagger's hilt as it drips down the blade. Okay. I will unsheath it and go in for a uh uh a quick short sword attack first. Okay. Cool. I'm guessing at disadvantage.
At disadvantage, yeah, yeah. I have a question. Yes. I have an answer. I have to.
I think I do I have to. No, I think I already started it. I think I have something called steady hand aim, but I need to do a bonus action.
So you need a bonus action to do steady aim. The next attack roll. Yeah. Now I'll just, I'm not gonna use it. I'm gonna do this. We're gonna do this. Cool. Disadvantage. Well, uh didn't go our way. Plus seven. Seven total. Yeah. Unfortunately, as you as the dagger goes wide, you just like you feel nothing there.
And then I'm gonna I'm gonna see really quick. Because I I feel like I should know this by now, but I'm the vex you have to hit.
Yeah. Yeah.
Well, you're not gonna see.
If you hit a creature. If you hit it. Yeah, you gotta hit it. Yep. Not yet. Not yet, no. No, because uh because I attacked with my my action.
unknown Yeah.
And then my bonus action would have been that I moved it into my action. Or wait, sorry.
That's not the that the vex gives you advantage. The nick you just do. You're right. You still get it. Yeah, you still get it. Because that doesn't proc based on whether you hit with your first weapon. It's just part of it.
If I would have hit, I would have had an advantage with my backs. You're right. Okay, so I still get to hit with this. That's what I thought. Okay, cool. But I read Vex and that's when it confused me. No, you're good.
It's confusing. Honestly, like every time I read it, I have to read it again.
I don't know. Uh the first one was really good. Uh plus. Well, that don't count. Well, that's too bad. One day I'll be good at combat. Eleven.
Eleven.
That's okay. I'm sorry. The blindness, unfortunately. No. You um unfortunately, you just yeah. That's all right. No. That's okay. Um you hear him go to retaliate. Um at the end of your turn, go ahead and make a constitution save and throw for me, please.
Okay, please, please, please, please, please.
Am I able to move closer to the window, or is that too hard for me to hear the weird thing? You could attach to a five step so I'm closer to the window. Okay.
So yeah, you kind of move and shit.
Yeah, that's easy. That's easy enough to do.
Um walk in the window a little bit from him?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's see. And then you set a con save. Nineteen. Nineteen. The bl the darkness fades away from your eyes. And you hear it. Nice. Damn it! And it goes to swing at you. Um, well, it on his turn, yeah. Um that's end of turn. Yeah. Brings us to the bugbear stucker, who is in front of you, Phil.
I'm not blind anymore. He's going to. He's gonna attempt to grapple, yeah. I know, that's how I was like. Quick grapple. He's he's gonna try. Um, we're almost there. Go ahead and make a dexterity saving throw for me, please. I'll be good. He's trying to grapple again, sorry. He's trying to grapple again.
Yeah, I didn't really do the math on that, right?
Yeah. I was like, she should kill the other one because he's just gonna try to grapple me. I thought I for I got the National 20. Hey! Pretty pretty bang, bang!
Okay, let's go. All right, as you enter the task. Yeah. And you see, as it goes to and you adroitly move out of the way, it is going to make two uh Morningstar attacks at you. These are not an advantage because you are not grappled anymore. So it is gonna make two attacks. That is a 16 to hit and a 25 to hit.
Yeah, that hits.
Excuse me, 24 to hit. 21 is my ace. Yeah, and you stop the other one with 22.
24 to hit. Shit. Okay, that's okay. Boom.
Failure room is rough, man. Um only six points of damage. That's great. That's great. Two and a one on D8s. Um, very, very, very, very bad. Uh fucking tri- Well, and good.
If they're attacking me and not Dana while she's down, that's good.
Miss the grapple, two attacks, one missed, and garbage damage. Okay, that's its turn. Ends the bugbear stucker, brings us to Ramsey with Elya on deck.
Fenris flame soul. How much did you drink? Not enough! Apparently. Uh, and I back.
I saw Dana go down. Yeah, you see her like fall into like she run into the doorway, and then you see her like fall and crash, and she's sort of like sitting slumped against the doorway right now.
Okay. Uh yeah, to this to this goblin in front of me. And I'm gonna I'm gonna leave its range. I'm gonna take the hit.
Alright, you're gonna attempt to leave its range. Let's see here. That is going to be, yep, it's gonna make an opportunity attack as you move away. It's gonna use a tech stick. Not a not a crit, but 23 to hit. 23 will hit. Yeah, 18 on the dice.
Um uh use my reaction to deflect attack. Yeah.
Oh, okay. It still hits.
Okay, but I get to roll and subtract damage. Okay.
Interesting. Okay, that is um as this this like twisted blackened staff makes contact with you, you feel like the physical touch of it is is light. You almost feel nothing there, but from that point, you feel this sharp pain ricochet and follow up the nervous system into your head as you take 16 points of psychic damage.
Oh no! Okay, well, I can't deflect it then. Oh, is it? Because it's gotta be bludgeoning, piercing, slashing.
Wait, what it's not bludgeoning with down?
Yeah, he can do psychic out of the floor.
2D plus three psychic damage. It's his it's his like special heck. The way that like Shilleli can do force is 16. Yeah. 16 points of psychic damage. Yeah, but I was counting. I was sorry, but I did not, I was like, fuck it. Shit happens. Um's the brakes, I guess. Okay, that it, but that's his reaction.
That's all he's got. Okay, go to the back. And then where are you gonna go?
I'm gonna go, I'm gonna run to run to Dena. Okay. Uh I'm gonna and sling down yellow pulses of energy to my feet as I blast into a somersault and uh land with my heel. I'm gonna somersault over Dena. Land with my heel on this guy in front of me. Okay. That big kind of overhead smash guy. Okay. Yeah, the guy that's gonna be.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Or it's not the overhead smash guy.
That is the overhead. Oh, it is okay.
Yeah.
Uh 14 to hit. 14 to hit. As yeah, as your heel comes down, a s his shield comes up quickly. Um, sort of a small buckler that's almost like more attached to the forearm than held in the hand. But it it he just your heel makes contact with that hard wooden surface. Um, and it is, yeah, unfortunately does not break through the shield.
Yep. I'm gonna I'm gonna spend a focus point to use flurry low.
Two punches. Go ahead and let him rip.
Okay. It's gonna be 19 for the first one. Yep, that'll hit. And but for the second one, uh 11 for the second one. So yeah. Alright, so as my heel lands on the shield, I'm gonna push you. Just for flavor, I'm gonna use the shitty one that it like hits the shield kind of to knock it out of the way.
And then like uppercut underneath it. That fist comes through and you catch him in the chin flush. Go ahead and roll damage.
Um eight points of bludging damage.
Eight points of excellent.
Alright. As that second punch hits, I'm like shaking off the damage from the psychic damage from the stick.
Who goes about carrying psychic sticks?
And uh I'm I use my bruised ego. Oh, when I expand a focus point, I gain three temp HP. Okay. When while I'm bloodied, which I am, I gain six instead. Okay, so there's this the black ooze is like pouring from my eyes, and there's just like a vein pulsing in my head as I'm just stabilizing myself. Okay.
With my frustration. Oh yeah, okay. Yeah, okay. Six temp HP.
And you see, yeah, you you sort of gain some vitality back as like almost the righteous indignation of getting smacked with a stake. Sort of just rubs you wrong. Uh awesome.
Like a regular person, damn it!
Alright, awesome. Uh that is gonna end Ramsey's turn. Elya, so yeah, your your check was successful. I have 30 feet of movement. Yeah, you spent five feet of your movement last turn. It took you five more feet to get up. Right. So five, ten, fifty. So yeah, five, ten, fifteen, twenty gets you to the window.
25 gets you in the room. Which is what you have. You have 25 feet of movement left.
Great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great. Right. Okay, yeah. I'm just gonna do another fucking witch bolt.
Okay. There you go. I mean, that thing murdered that one thing really quick. Yeah. Alright. So scorched earth it, man, until you get in there.
Yeah, because I I can't do a bonus action because I killed the other guy. That's fine. Yeah.
The one, the one on the I have advantage already. Oh, okay, right, right, right.
For your thing, I would have gotten advantage, but I already have advantage. Yeah.
unknown Fuck that.
You gotta need it.
That's better, better. That's better. Plus eight. Yeah, that's better. Eighteen? Uh the hex guy? Has it been his turn? Oh, yeah, he uh he hit him with his stick. He uses reaction anyway. He uses reaction anyway. Oh, without the reaction because he uses reaction with the stick, so he can't he can't jinx it.
He can't do the jinx thing. Let's go. Alright, that's so yeah. Uh go ahead and roll damage.
unknown Okay.
12. Okay. Okay, five and twelve for a total of 17 points of damage. Crazy damage, dude.
So I can all run all the way up.
20. Gets you there. You jump over the corpse of the goblin, you go into the room.
Mom! And I look through the window.
Yeah.
I I I would look through the window first as I'm yelling for her. And I do I see her body?
You see your dad unconscious in bed, and you see your mom like slumped against the doorway, unconscious.
It's under control, Lilya, we've got this! And I uh uh yeah, I pull out a dagger and just like turn to this little do I though. Yeah, I mean, yeah, yeah. I just I pull out my dagger and I'm just a death staring. This guy next to me.
Okay. Alright.
I can't bonus action shit. Okay. Okay.
Yeah, yeah. But as your lightning arcs into him, you see as the now, like between you guys. As you look at him, there is this lance, this bleash of lightning, like arcing back and forth between you as he's like, and he's like trying to reach up to smack you with his dick.
With that, with seeing my family in my rage, I'm just like, leave my home.
Okay. Okay.
That's it.
Alright. That ends. Elia's turn. Brings us to Goblin Assassin.
Assassin!
Alright. Um, he's in the house.
In the house. He misses because it's a window.
Hopefully.
Yeah.
He's Yeah Shaw. He he he pulls another dagger and he throws it at you.
This is the one inside Ilya's room?
21 to hit. Yeah, that'll hit. Okay. Um as this dagger sinks into you, you feel the the pain of the wound, and then like the a familiar burning. Um, make a constitution screen for me, please. What's going on?
Their weapons are also poisoned.
Probably. We can do it. That's okay.
It's okay. Yeah. Okay. Because then it's this guy, and he's a big guy.
They didn't count to that.
Right.
I just wanted to see if I have advantages.
And then here, I want to strangle them. Kill all the all the gold. Sorry, just looking at it.
You're good. You're good. An assassin. I forgot another thing about my character.
Alright, uh, you said a con save? Yep, con save. Fuck it.
That is not bad. Uh abilities, constitution. 15.
15. Okay. Nice. Shaw. With it. Yeah. Um. As the knife, like he this goblin uses a moment of distraction while you're in, like, and right as the as the darkness clears from your eyes, you just hear that and it stabs into you, like kind of almost in the side. Or yeah, like right in your in your in your chest.
You feel that pulse of of burning poison begin to spread. Um, all right. Take uh as the dagger sinks into you, you take 14 points of piercing damage because you are engaged with an ally, and so you take 14 points of piercing damage from the dagger and his sneak attack. Nice. And then you also are going to take five points of poison damage.
That's when you succeed, bro. As you take this damage, the din of this fades around you. The world goes quiet. The ring of steel of as everything fades away, and the time around you flows. You see the color of the oranges and hues of candlelight, and the decorations of first routing around you in the moonlight bleed away as everything goes off and blurry around the edges.
And all of gray settles over the world.
The color is muted by something in this world around you. Everything really emotionally.
Like at the edges of your vision, everything is still kind of colorless, but everything slows down to you just slightly, and you still see almost like an aftermirage, like a light stared at too long, the faintly falling ash in the background.
I linger on it for a moment. Okay, but again, emotions unchanged. And I just from the eyes of the corner of my vision shift down to the bugbear.
unknown Okay.
Yes.
No smile, no emotion.
unknown Okay.
That is gonna end the goblin assassin's turn. You are officially raging, though, so you mark it all raging. It's raging. And that will bring us to the goblin hexer, who is across from you.
Yeah, yeah, do it. Do it.
I don't, I mean, don't, you know.
Be gleeful about it.
16 points. Give me a reason. Give me a reason.
Um this creature. Um just like leave behind. You just said leave. I don't think I will. And it reaches, and you see these same sort of like these sort of small green uh runes like flare around its fingertips as it splays its hand outward below you, and you see as this thick viscous fluid spreads outwards and away from where you're standing.
It's gonna cast grease uh underneath you. I need you to make a dexterity saving throw for me, please. Yeah, it does.
Um, I can't. I am disadvantaged.
That's okay. That's okay, you can still do it.
You're just you're acrobatics checks.
Not a dexterity saving throw.
Just acrobatics checks. Hell yeah. Just acrobatics.
Oh, I thought it's advanced. Also I get advanced.
unknown That works.
Um, okay, okay, uh, what?
It's a save uh dexterity saving throw.
Eight plus five.
Okay. Thirteen. Thirteen? Eight plus five is thirteen. Sorcerers get the deck saved.
Oh no, I'm uh uh rogue. Rogue first.
First level was a rogue. Um, okay. What'd you say? 12?
13 is for 13, that's right.
Meets it, beats it. Yes! As the grease bubbles up underneath you here amongst the um the rooftop, you manage to keep your feet. You if you start your or rather, if you end your next turn here, you will have to make the save again. And now this in front of this area is a 10-foot cube of of But the window is right there.
I have uh something to grip on to.
Yeah, there you go. You reach out and grab the window. Um there you go.
Oh, that's what helps me get into the what is happening to me.
What is happening to me?
Okay. Uh 10-foot cube is what I said. Okay, so that area is all greased. It's greased up. It's greased. Uh and it replaces one of its attacks with a use of spellcasting, is gonna try to bop you with his stick. Um, that is gonna be Is that how that works when you have multi-attack? Yeah, so well you monsters work differently.
Monsters work differently. Yeah. Um natural ones.
It's good to know. Because I was like, maybe I could do that.
No, the goblin makes two hex stick attacks, and he can replace one attack with a use of spellcast. So you it gets a natural one. Uh so it tries to hit you, then you duck because it stick smashes into the uh the window. You should have run. Make an intimidation. Yeah, yeah.
You slip the match.
You should have run.
I tried to be intuitive. You just got a little bit drunk. You tried real hard. You tried real hard. You should. You should the uh you said it really cool, but yeah. I should have just mentally did it to him. Whatever. That is gonna end um that creature's turn. That brings us to the Bugbear stalker who is in front of you.
Uh Mr. Shaw. Yeah, go for it. It is going to attempt to quit for you. So it's gonna attempt to, so we're gonna make a dexterity saving throw for you.
Oh, it's not the thing that we're talking about, it's a strength or it's uh dexterity saving grab. Yeah, yeah. So break it is the throw. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, I heard. Um, so you said uh dex.
Sir, you're good, you're good. We're getting into part. No, he gets me. Oh, does he? Yeah, if I could. Yeah. I let him. Okay. Yeah. You just I just don't have a move. I'm like, okay. He just like grabs my shoulder. Okay. Alright, and he's gonna swing on you twice. Both of these are at advantage. Go for it.
Go for it.
20. We kiss Bugbears in this part too. I let him. Yeah, 20 hits.
I let him kiss me.
Alright, 20 to hit. 11 points down to five.
Nice.
Um and second attack, buddy. Fucking trash. Yes. We got the resistance guys, right? Yeah, resistance only.
Oh, it's me. It is you followed by Phil. Oh my god. Okay, I'm gonna climb up.
unknown Okay.
Finally, oh my god. Steffi! Hey!
Yeah, you see, yeah, I mean, I don't know, you see me bloodied up and ripped by this guy.
You see, but Ilya, you see Ilya like like last least to um electrical.
Uh as I as I as I finally climb over and stand up. Shaw! Ilya, what's going on in there? Are they okay?
They I think they need our help.
They're in there. I don't know what's on what's going on. Okay. Uh I don't like that pull of grease, but I'm gonna run. Uh how close to that window can I get? I wanna see in the room in the house, if possible.
25 feet gets you right here, and you can see into the house from I took 10 to climb up. No, uh, oh shit. Sorry, 20. So you have 20. So 20 gets you there. I'll say you can still see Dennna, because like if you I don't know if you guys can see my line, but like so. That makes sense. That makes sense to me that you can still see Dena.
You can't see Reese, but you can see Dennna and and and Ramsey behind her, like kind of like going toe-to-toe with another creature on the inside that you've not seen seen yet.
Okay. Uh your mother is hurt.
Yeah.
The new one. Okay.
Um, you got more spells than I. Good. You have spells. You can't.
Yeah, full caster.
Full caster, full card.
Full spell cut. Your guys is only full pure class.
That's why I'm like, I don't have that many. I have like any spells. I had three spells left.
Alright, I see Dana. Yeah. Clap my hands. Okay. And as I do that, my bracers turn. They're they're like a silver, like a platinum type color. But as I clap, they turn blue. Okay.
unknown I gotta do something.
What? Was it high on the dodge? I don't know what he's doing, but that's what it does. Okay. So in uh how much what was the distance between them? Between five? Between uh you and Dennna? Yeah. 45 feet. And I can't yeah. Okay, so right next to Dennis. Um in the in the air, um, uh, like a green sprout, just in the middle of the middle of the air, green sprout is gonna start to grow.
Okay. And then another, and then another, and they're gonna wrap around each other, and then uh a beautiful flower will blossom, and another, and another, until there's a sphere of flowers and vines and growth, and I will cast healing spirit right in this space. Okay, and my I don't think I can heal her at this exact moment because it says when well, maybe.
What read this bell? Yeah.
Whenever you or a creature you can see moves into the spirit space for the first time, or um starts its turn there, I can restore hit points. Yep. So um what?
Do you tell us anything about what that thing is?
Uh we'll probably find out when it heals her.
Well, she can't move because she's can't.
On a turn. So it technically it entered her space, it entered the space on a turn. So this is a turn. It ones.
But does she, but is she near it? It's not big enough.
No, it's no. The way the healing spirit is intended is is like when a creature either starts its turn there or moves into it on their turn. A turn is, I don't like that language because it complicates too many spells. So it's at the start of her turn. Yeah, I'll go to the case.
Right, but is she in its space or is she not in its space? She's in it.
She's in it.
But my question is, would her turn scope down if she's doing death saving throws?
At the top of your turn, any healing is applied. Start.
I mostly meant how big is it? Like, is it in her space or not?
Oh, how big is it? It is a five foot. Five foot uh cube. So ten feet. Five foot. Five foot cube. Yeah. So uh and so Oh wait, five foot cube.
That's the thing, is like, is it in her space or is it you put it right next to her? Oh, I guess could you put it in?
What's the range? What's the range on it? I have 60 feet.
Okay, good. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, right on. Yeah. So you just drop it right on top of her. As these little, all these little flowers and everything grows above her, kind of almost this, as you create this like almost reliquary of like flowers and vines just above her, as like almost these little lights begin to trickle down onto her, and you see as like slowly, Ramsay, as you kind of if you're right, you're right there, I am, yeah.
You see as like the back, the wound on the back of her head begins to knit closed.
This this will help her.
Thank you, Bill.
Um, so that's a bonus action.
Thank you, Bill! Yeah, that was a bonus.
Nice.
That's really good.
Yeah, that's good as well. And oh. And then Take a Bop action. I'm gonna uh hit the the goblin that just swung it. Well, I didn't see it swing at the but I did hit it earlier.
I'll say you were like you're tall enough to see it.
You saw it, you saw it. Just another guiding bolt. Okay, cool.
And this is an ability, not a spell. This is an ability.
Okay, that's so fucking good. This is an ability. I did the hit at third level as well.
Okay, okay, okay, cool, cool, cool. So that's an extra d6, right? Yeah, okay, sick. Sick. Um the guiding banana land. That's good. It's cool. Well, yeah, because like the stars druid because the stars druid can cast guiding bolt and it's not considered casting a spell because it's a class ability. 17 hit, hits go and roll damage.
Nope, does not still does not no, he went. He went. Okay, so I have to do uh wisdom. He's he's gonna and he re like he doesn't do the job. You make a wisdom saving took one, please.
That was on a journey.
That was a whole ass journey. Wisdom save? Yeah, wisdom save hole. Not a ash ass journey. Oh, yeah.
You're still.
I I focus. Not strong enough. Damn. And just push it through.
The green runes that attempt to deflect it just shatter as your guiding bolt pierces through it. Go ahead and roll your damage. Damage him.
Uh seven, fifteen. Fifte points of damage. Dude, that's gonna be. Yes. How does it go?
Yes! Yes!
This bolt hits this little. You know what it hits? It hits that goddamn stick.
He like almost instinctually he brings it up to block it, and the bolt just right through the center, shatters the stick, splinters fly into his face as your guiding bolt takes him full in the face. And he just like collapses to the ground, a smoldering ruin uh and rolls off the roof. Aided by his own grease.
Yeah.
Great. Just slides right off the roof. Get out of here.
Alright, that is uh that's bonus action. Action all your movement. That is a full turn good, sir. Damn, that's a great turn. That's gonna end Vale's turn, brings us to Phil with Denna on deck. You are not grappled.
And he already took a reaction.
Uh he did because he smacked the shit out of Denna. So I'm gonna pass up in front of Denna. Okay. Back up to here. Boom. Gotcha. Your little raven is in your same space. Yeah. Cool. You block Denna.
Um, and I'm gonna aim for big boy. Okay. Two two gunshots straight at him. Nice.
Go ahead, roll the hit.
Uh 19.
Hits. Nice.
I'm gonna do the second one. Let me. How close is he? Should I do the second one right away?
Uh, you wanna roll some damage to find out?
Yeah?
Yeah, roll that down.
Uh 2d8.
Yeah, we know I did like six damage to him, so he's probably 18.
18 points of damage. As the shot rings out, you see as it crashes into his shoulder, and he is like, he is not okay. Yeah, yeah. Damn. Yes, sir.
As the shot rings out, yeah, and I see Philippa aim this shot uh as the literally as the hammer hits and the bullet leaves the chamber and the gunpowder explodes. I let out this whistle, and tiny purple circular emanations proceed from my mouth and wrap themselves around the bullet and accelerate its blow.
You fucking.
As I catch accelerate. You were like, is this gonna be bad for the feeling? I was like, yes, it's gonna be bad.
I was like, is this too strong? Because it feels bad. It's just a reaction. Yeah.
Oh god, how much was that?
That was uh 18.
18, and a target takes an extra 2d6 damage from the attack. Okay.
Yeah. And you can also decelerate for attacking.
Okay, so I rolled super low, but that's an extra three damage.
unknown 21 points.
That's all it took.
Get out of here, bugbing. Dude. Yeah, I mean, okay, so so yeah, go ahead.
I back up to cover Dana. Like I'm like, if no matter what, if they have to attack, they're gonna attack me. I can't get her right now.
Getting rid of the enemies is gonna help us a whole lot more. So I pull up, I reach into my um, I've been grappled this whole time, so I finally can like reach into my holster, whip out my gun, uh, spin it around, aim it. Um, watch out, Ramsay. And then I'm because it's going like right past his head.
The shot rings out, and Ramsay, with your with your speed, your acuity, your reflexes, you almost like you see that puff of the of the of the powder as it exits the barrel. And you like hear the ring. In your literal ear. And you let out that quick whistle, and you see as this purple energy like gathers onto yours, onto your bullet, and the projectile, and it smashes through this guy, and like you see his blood just against the wall behind him as he falls to the ground.
And I take aim at the next one.
Alright. Oh, that's fucking better.
Because I have a second attack. Alright.
Awesome.
Ooh, I don't think it's gonna hit 9, 10, 11, 12. 13.
13, unfortunately, we'll miss the stop. But um the who looks as the leader falls. This other one, who is also not looking great, like kind of looks around and sees his not boss, does not see any other allies.
I have a bonus action still.
Yep, and you have a bonus action, so go ahead.
And a bird. Yeah, I'm gonna um have my bonus action, have my um Raven take aim and fire.
Okay, go ahead.
Uh does a 15 hit.
15, I believe, just hits. Just hits. That's what you're looking for.
Oh eight points of damage.
Eight points of damage. Alright.
More damage. Nice.
Cool. All right. Eight points of damage. Yeah, you see as this creature, and he with that as well, he starts to kind of look around and look back out the window he came in. Uh as he is suddenly doing some math and not lagging the numbers that he's um that's action, bonus action. Anything else for Phil?
Okay. Nice, nice turn. Brings us back to top of initiative. Top of initiative. Start of her turn as she starts her turn in the space. Roll 2d6 for me.
No.
unknown Okay.
11. 11. 11. Yes, dude. Hell yeah. And you see as Dena, her eyes flutter open. And like they like slightly and then they snap. She looks over to the end of the room immediately, just to her right, and she sees you in the window.
unknown Mom!
I'm alright. And you see she stands up, looks at like looks around the room, looks at Reese. You're in the room with Reese. It's alright. And she gets her swords and she fucking runs straight at this.
Back into the freeze.
So she's gonna attack him twice. Misses with one attack, but will hit with her big sword.
Okay.
Um that is gonna be.
We've been we've been chugging away at this guy.
Yep, that is gonna be um a D8. Grapple over here.
Um did she move her 100 mark?
Uh it's gone. She uh so she rolls six. She will use her last dread strike. Eight plus six, fourteen total points of damage as she like runs this guy basically like through her sword, pierces the shoulder. He is still up, but that is gonna end her turn. And she yeah, she she ends her turn. Um, that is top of initiative.
What I'm gonna do is have us go to break and we'll finish up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll we'll we'll we'll come back from break and we'll finish up. Don't worry, we're not stopping to episode.

As we return. All right, guys. So uh that was uh Dana's turn. That is uh brings us to Shaw with uh grappled. All right. Yeah, Mr. Bob Abian, what'd you do? So I'm grappled. Yep, you are grappled.
Um yeah, I'm just like kind of looking at this this bug bear. Okay. Um yeah, just emotionless. And um, I'll go in for two strikes. Okay, cool, cool. Two strikes, two strikes. So uh I'd like to use my bonus action to steady aim. I'm not moving.
Okay, cool, play advantage. Yeah, so you steady aim, you literally like take a stance, like a battle stance.
I kind of like my feet kind of like plant in, and I almost use my I like really uh engage my feet to like and my my legs to really force the attack in. Okay, and I go quicker than normal.
Sick. Go ahead and roll an advantage. Let's roll a ball.
unknown Yeah.
Okay, actions.
You get right into a skull.
That's the plan.
Um, is this the poison one?
No, this is short sword first. Short sword. Yeah, it gets advantageous.
It gives you the nick.
Yeah. Yeah. 21. 21 to hit. Yeah. Hits. Go ahead and roll damage. Uh three plus three, uh, six, and I'll I'll throw the sneak attack on it, right?
Yeah, yeah. Um, well, you have advantage, but you have advantage on your second strike. My advice would be if you don't crit on the first one to always drop the sneak attack on the second one. Oh, I see what you're saying. Because my worry was that I'll miss the second one, but I guess I mean, yeah. It's better to run that because if you have advantage and you don't crit on the first one, you're crit fishing on the second.
So it's it's a risk. No, you're a good point. That's a good point.
That's a risk.
Yeah, but that like met sorry, metagame. That's right. No, you're good. No, that makes sense. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's here's a crit. Imagine. Well, we all did for 20 21. I think the first one was 20, and this is 21. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I'm sorry, what was the total damage on the first strike? Uh six. Six points of damage. Oh, cool, cool.
Whatever the sword sword is pre-core. Cool, cool, cool. Okay, and then this hit. So it's a d4. Making a d4. Two points plus three, so five. Okay.
Is that the poison?
Wait, that is just the dagger. That's just the dagger. Oh, no, no, yeah, but I'm saying some gummer roll right now. So it's two d8. Okay. God damn. So seven. 12 points of poison, and he also needs to make a con save. Oh, okay. That was five.
That's 12. Hold on, let me write that down.
So I can have power. 17 uh fails. Okay, so he's poisoned. Oh fuck. Yeah, fuck you.
I know you were talking about it.
Yeah. Um five points of sneak attack on top of that. Okay. So a total of 22 points of damage. Damn, alright. On the fucking dagger. This guy there it is. That's what I was looking for.
You see as like your dagger sinks into like his like right under the rib cage, into the like gut. And you see as it and it's fucked up. Ooh, roll an intimidation check for me. You can use your you roll an intimidation check, but use your strength. Do I add a revantage for that because I'm raging? Uh checks.
Sure. That's kind of cool. Hell yeah.
Fuck me, dude.
Oh no.
It's okay. I've rolled a one.
Yeah.
Intimidation.
We're just having that. You guys are doing your best. We're not super intimidated. We're all we're all having intimidation.
He's also very bloody when injured. Unfortunately, he hits too preoccupied with his own pain to like even register what you're saying to it. But that is gonna bring us to the stalker in front of Dennna. Right. He is going to disengage. Better run. And run.
Mm-hmm.
Five, ten, fifteen, twenty. Call out to his. She can't. Sorry. I wasn't that. 25. He's going to climb down from the roof.
He's not gonna warn his friends that he's leaving.
Nope. He doesn't see him. Yeah, what friend? Yeah, he literally can't see him because the door, this the door at the bottom is closed. Like he can't. He doesn't he thinks he's alert. The room is closed, is that we're gonna go. So he just he leaves, he books. Um, but he doesn't get far. He's like he climbs down the roof, and that's as far as he gets.
He just uses action to disengage. Ramsey, that brings us to you, bud. And then Ilya, you're on deck. I'm gonna chase him down.
And uh Ilya and Philippa, Ilya you can kind of see through the window, but Philippa, you can see that my skin is like really tight and I'm looking like super vascular and script. Uh uh, but the veins you can see that if they're quite dark. Yeah, it's not quite blue under the skin simultaneously. You see something black.
I'm something of a medicine man.
The fuck are you? Uh, as I race after this guy out the window, do a little hop.
1520.
I mean, you know, I'm gonna knee drop him if I'm dropping down from the roll fruit. Yeah.
I mean, you're there so fast because you move. Yeah, you yep. Come on, Ramsey, old boy. Natural one. No!
Because of because I'm dropping something. Do you have any focus point? Yeah, I will use a focus point. Okay. Um there you go. There you go. As like maybe the hit doesn't land as intended.
I sort of fall onto it. I mean, you don't have to burn your focus point. You can always make one unarm strike as a bonus action as a mug. You can always make one for free. You don't have to spend the focus point, but you can. I just want to make sure you remember that as all.
So but I think I have to call it. Like, I can't make the unarm strike and then use the the because I don't give a shit.
Okay, well, that's it. Just to be on the up and purge on the rules.
Purdue on the rules, I should say, I shouldn't say it like that. I am, to me, I'm like, I appreciate that. I want to allow you the opportunity to like not waste things when you can, right? Totally. So um I really appreciate that. But I also but I also want to be.
That's right.
Hey, you you do if if you prefer to call it, then call it. Yeah, I'm gonna call it perfect. Yeah, I love it.
Two unarmed strikes. We're taking it. Uh that's gonna be a uh 14 a hit. 14 hits. Nice. Hell yes. Okay. Um, yeah, and I need to remember, because it my sheet doesn't account for this, but because I'm also in my heightened state, uh, I add an extra three points of damage to every hit. Okay. Uh so that's gonna be uh eight points of damage plus uh the three, so oh 11 damage on Ryan Z.
I was hoping you get the first one because he has two hit points. Yeah, it's so few, but uh but yeah, so like I like almost too fast for my own, like for my like I'm I move faster than I think I'm going to, and I like trip on my way out, and then I'm catching my feet, and then I leap down under this guy, and I just fall on top of him, and we land, and then I just pound into his head with my hands.
And his skull caves in under the force of the blow.
Are we the bad guys?
Yeah.
I mean, he broke into our house, but yeah, this is my home.
This was earned.
Get out.
You don't want to mess with me. I get up and I shake myself off. Um, and that's gonna be my turn. Okay.
Are you sure you're not raging?
We're all fucking raging. You're raging. I'm raging.
Everybody's pretty pissed. And okay, Randy, that ends your turn. You have a ton of movement. Do you want to try to get back up? And okay.
I'll your one arm somersault back on, or just like hop over the yeah.
Yeah. Go with the amount of movement that you have, you're you're bet you have 80 or whatever ungodly amount. So it's I think it took you 20 feet. Actually, I'll say you're able to get back onto the roof because it took you basically 20 to get down there. Sure. Um, so you're just able to get back on the roof.
Because even if you fail the athletics check, you're still up. Right. So that is gonna end Ramsey's turn. That's my go. And brings us to Elia. You see one combatant that is grabbed to hold a shaw, and that is it. Oh, you're up.
Yeah, and there's nothing around in my dad's room anymore. I don't see where my mom went or anything. So I'm gonna pass. Yeah.
Sounds like a cool spell.
That's like incantation. Yeah, right. That's how you have to cast the spell. From now on.
Question DM. For which bolt, if I cast it as an action, I have a bonus action. And then on a bonus action, I can do another bolt. In the spell it says Oh, I'll each of the subsequent churches.
Oh wow.
Oh, that's so smart. And I am I'm so angry and spiteful, and it hears and it hits head. It's head. Leaf. Leave my home.
And it's just like leaf, leaf, leaf, leaf. And it is gonna make an intelligence. We've done. Isn't it whispers is wisdom? Oh, you're right. You're right. You're right. Nope. That's an eight.
Sick. Okay. So um I also do 3d6.
3d6 psychic damage. And then it immediately immediately runs away. Which makes it leave your reach. But that's forced movement anyway. Uh no, because it moves under its own will. Yeah. So even though so that is a very interesting interaction, right? If it is moved by an external force, it is it it is forced movement.
But because it has to use its reaction and under its own bodily power runs away, it still procs uh that's actually like a whole discourse I've been in before.
Yeah.
So it's moving under its own power, and it's not like telekinesis or like falling past you. It's technically not forcing it to move, but it is not forced to move.
So if it didn't have a reaction, would it not move?
Um I think so.
It would do it anyway. Yeah.
Okay, so how what was the damage total, sorry? Five. Five points of psychic damage. Alright, and then it immediately it it runs away. So it leaves your reach. So go ahead and you have your uh your your reaction to uh up attacking. I still have advantage from the city.
I have to roll to get into the window.
No, not in. He did because there were two goblins blocking.
Well, I'm talking about because of Grease.
Nah.
Great.
Nah, it's a time there. Which is kind of silly, but you jump in the window. Um actually, did I wait, is Green Star? I think it's I think it is.
I'm trying to be I'm trying to be a little bit more.
You just stand by it. Uh yeah, I mean it's this is ultimately kind of a formality. Fair enough. But it's funnier.
It's so much enters the area or ends its turn there. So if you leave it, you're fine. Yeah. Enter it. You can leave it. That's how I was like, if you end up. Okay. So do you get out of the grease now?
I will. Once I once you jump in.
Okay, towards it. Okay. You swing? 13. 13? Unfortunately, 13.
Yeah.
14 was the number you were looking for. Um sorry, Buddh.
Um still there.
Would you like to nope, you can't. It's your reaction. Yeah. Reckless. Oh no, yeah. Yeah, but it's your it's your it's turn. I have that. Do I have it at level one? You should. I think reckless is part of level one. But anyway.
Dude, it's once you go multi-class. It gets crazy.
Okay, your character sheet is doing.
I would like to run all the way to the where I look at my dad.
Uh-huh.
Dad? Mom? And I I'm running to the other room to find her.
25 gets you there. You're able to get into the room. So you it was five feet to get in, and then 30 feet of total movement gets you to right.
Right there.
And you come out right next to Phil and her uh her construct.
Where is Mom?
And you see, okay. You see her. She's up on her feet. She turns towards you.
It's all right, Elliot. It's alright.
With that, that brings us to the Hexer's turn, who is dead. The Bugbear Stalker just keeps running. And Shaw, this creature does, it's gonna use Nimble Escape to disengage. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30. It's gonna use its action to dash. So it runs past you. You don't have your reaction regardless. But you see, is both of these creatures basically like run off that edge of the roof.
And unless you pursue them, we are out of initiative order.
Um a few moments pass as I'm on the roof, and uh and I drop to my knees. And do I see the gray still? Do I see the captain? And I just like sit back under the uh the window and kind of just sit there and catch my breath.
I'll walk over to you.
Are you real?
Yes. What's wrong?
I don't know. I went somewhere.
You went here. No, hold on. Eat that. Are you sure?
Yes I like to say it helps, but I can barely taste it. Which I guess is a good thing. I saw another place.
What kind of place? Hey. Where are they? Where is everyone else? Are they alright? I don't know. We should go inside.
Alright. You go, I'll be in in a minute. I'll just be out here. Thank you, friend.
unknown Okay.
Alright. I'll I'll go inside.
unknown Okay.
You step around, Shaw. Enter in. Open the door. Two. And Dena as she sees you. Looks around for a moment. And then throws her swords onto the table and walks over to you and grabs you and a hug.
Mom, what's happening? Mom!
It's um.
I don't know. I don't know why they're here.
unknown I don't know.
Um.
And she pushes you back into the spirit behind you. And both of them stand in they stand there together.
Yeah. So they both get.
Uh I didn't get hit.
She did.
I look perfectly fine.
Give Dinah some more. Denn, yeah, Dennis.
That's uh five, seven, twelve uh twelve. I have uh four more. So why not? Yeah. Uh 12, 17. Does anybody else read sleeping on it?
I don't think it'll work on Reed's. They'll step out of it. They step out of it. Donna does like after the first two. So Elyo, you see, like you feel like blood trickle down the back of her neck, like onto your arm in the hug. And then you feel it stop as she's in the the area of the healing spirit before she pushes out of it.
She know actually knows what this is. Oh she's so cool.
And I'll press the digitation and like cleat up some of the blood on her.
You see, her beautiful hair is matted and mangled at the back with blood.
I'll um my hand put my hand towards the healing spirit and grab as if I'm grabbing it and move it over towards Phil. Nice and um put it on you. Yeah. Thanks.
Yeah. See, as the vines, instead of like moving, if you'll per if um well, Ronnie, feel free to. Instead of it like moving, they just grow. Oh, yeah. Instead of like moving around, they literally just grow and follow the path over to you. That's cool.
Because I'm right there. Thank you, Varyl.
Um Wow. Um. She looks around at all of you guys. If I may, yeah.
I'm oh yeah, you're out, yeah, you're out back. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm I'm gonna just stand up from where I I was streaming my way back, I guess. But I'm gonna look back at the body and he's dead. Yeah.
Super dead.
Should have known better. There's people looking for me, don't you know? And I climb out into the window as this scene is playing out. Okay. But you can pick up where you were.
Did you get him?
Uh yeah, I got him.
Good.
And you see, there's blood pouring out of my nose and and out of my my head.
Do you still look like something? Y a little bit.
A little bit. It's residing. Or receding, I guess.
Yeah. Did you know? Did you know is that why you wanted me to come home?
I had no idea that they were gonna be here. I don't know what the I don't know where these came from. And she kind of like kicks the body of the bigger one and like kind of kicks it over with her heels. It's slumped partially on the side.
I'm gonna try and look in its clothes for anything. How did it know to come here?
The bandits, probably right, probably connected to the ones that we were searching.
But how do the bandits know? How did they know about us and where we were? Yeah, I'm gonna look through.
They knew about trade routes. That means class probably fucked my father over.
They um as you go through, you don't see any like identifying documents. You see like normal gear, you would anticipate. You see, um, but as you kind of comb through them, you see on a mix of uh their bodies, actually, and it's either branded, in fact, it's yeah, it's branded on all of them, um, typically like hidden somewhere under like under the shoulder, under hide armor, over sort of the chest area.
You see it's crude um as it is like literally branded into their fur, but you see um a like a clenched fist um over like three peaks. Um peaks like mountain peaks. Like peaks, like mountain peaks, yeah. Um and the fist, like there is a uh in addition to like the brand, it does look like there's there's an attempt at like coloring it in, like a sort of very crude mix of a brand and a tattoo.
Um that is yeah, it's like a clenched fist over over peaks. Um go ahead and roll the locals, all three of you guys. Well, Phil, you're the only one seeing this. I'd say you're probably too distracted. So Phil History check, yeah.
Uh 16.
16. Um this is it is a symbol um that is known as that of the Dairach tribe, um, a tribe of goblinoids that basically exists mostly in the forests and the foothills to the east of town. Um they are very aggressive raiders and typically attack a lot of the settlements and smaller places and caravans that come in across the tide road to the south and east of town.
Um they're a pretty, pretty uh uh, they're kind of a scourge that the wood tri the the wood guard, or excuse me, the Thornwatch has tried to get rid of for a long time, but they are they're like a virus, they keep coming back.
It's the Jirac tribe.
Jurok, does that does that mean anything to you, Dana?
Yeah, they're um they're goblins. Um sometimes we've had to skirt around them or fight them before. Um like you know that you guys have actually tussled with these when you've gone out in a field. Typically you have enough Thornwatch with you, and their raiding parties are pretty small, but um They normally don't attack Black Rock.
It's gotta be connected to Class, Olea, but I don't know how they would know to come here.
We How would they have found out that we did that?
No, this is We went into the room after they left.
Unless it's unrelated. They just came after your father for other reasons.
No, we escorted Class throughout the city. If they were here bec there was a bugbear general who was talking to Class. And and they're probably in the city because of the Ilya.
I don't think they connected you to this house, though. That if you were just walking through the city, how would they connect you that quickly? That quickly. But they know who they don't live in town.
They don't I don't have to be by appearance?
Class can tell them whatever he wants. He probably drew them a map. How did so many of them left? Ilya.
Donna, what was he up to? Why are these people talking to your husband?
Could I have just walked in this point? Yeah. I'll just walk in and sit on a nut chair on the side.
I don't know. I don't know why they would be here. I don't know what connection Reese has to any of this. I don't know. We can't ask him because he won't wake up.
Dad? Dad?
Ilya. I'm gonna walk towards her and put my hands on her shoulders from behind. Dad, wake up. Ilya. Ilya Daddy Daddy I'll pull her like into my like put my arms around her. I will try. I will try. Breathe, breathe with me. Slow it down. He's alive. And now he's alive. We will find out whatever is making him ill.
And ill.
Just need to give him time.
I appreciate your help, guys. But I would like a moment with my family. And I I look to Dena and I look at Phil and I I clutch you tightly.
My hands are around, like I'm behind you. I clutch start to release and I clutch you.
I'll pick up one of the bodies. We've got work to do anyway.
Right. And I'll get up and I'll help with that. Start dragging him out. She uh Dena walks over to you, Ramsey. Um. And she reaches up. You said you're bleeding from your nose. Yeah, she reaches up and she puts a hand to the side of your head. She's gonna cast cure wounds on you. You get 11 points of healing back.
Nice. Nice. Wait, oh, I rolled D6s. Not D eights. Oh. It's D eights. Hopefully shit. Uh same number. 11 hit points. Oh yeah. Well, the dice were 10. I've already got it. We do. So you get 11 hit points back, and she says, um. Thank you. We're first here.
You can count on it's no, it's no problem.
If you wouldn't um mind if you can track down Don and let him know about what happened, or probably set up some kind of a card. You all I think all of us need to rest.
I'll turn to Vale before he leaves. If you guys need a place to rest, you can let yourself in.
Alright. Don't wait up for us.
Alright. Come on, Vale!
Is there another body? There's one. There's some on the roof.
Yeah, there's one flipped off. There's one on the roof in front of the roof.
And then there's two goblins on the other window. Okay.
And the bug bear.
Work around the grease.
He's got the bug bear. Well, there's one inside, but then there's one outside. Yeah.
As you go over, the grease is uh that's what I'm saying. One's lit off the roof and one is in the grease, actually. Um but the you uh uh which at this point has now vanished. Um it's conjured, so it it vanishes after a minute. Um but you see is yeah, you're able to pick up the bodies and Shaw, Vale, and Ramsey, you guys pile them up.
Okay. And um for the sake of you are able to find a Dom Forger or another Thornwatch. Okay. Yeah, we saw him go somewhere. Yeah, yeah, you guys saw him earlier.
Yeah, so we'll go back to him. I think we saw that, or so you saw that. Yeah, we'll go back to that area. I'll catch him.
While you guys, while you guys go off and do that, um, I'll I'll come back to you.
You all leave, and Phil, Ilya, and Dena all stand in this area. Denn walks through and quickly um cleans up.
I've got mending. I don't know if I can start to repair the windows. It really says like a foot or something. Like it's not a ton of space, like, so I don't know if it would work for this.
I mean, I'll say a little bit at a time, yeah. I'll say you walk around.
Like no larger than a foot in any dimension.
So I don't know if I can really do the windows, but maybe uh yeah, you're able to walk through and yeah, you kinda like you have to piecemeal it almost a little bit, like pain by pain, but you're able to like and all the pieces are there, so you're able to kind of like almost with your knowledge of mechanical things and plans and being able to look at an object and see its dimensions, you're very quickly, over the course of like a minute or two, you're able to pick up the pieces and mend things back into place.
And as Dena just um walks into the room with Ilia.
I'm I'm at the bed. Yeah, I'm on the bed already.
Yeah, she just sits next to you on the bed. There's a moment of quiet, I suppose, while Phil walks around.
I don't. I can't. I'm so tired. I just wish he could hear me. And with all of the stress and and strength that she has, I convert three of my meta magics into a spell slot for second level. And I cast Detect Thoughts.
Okay.
And in this moment as well, she's never done this before, because again, opening her mind is very like, I'm just listening to other people's thoughts, I'm not going in. But now that she's stronger, she has a telepathic link that I can use so that I can connect with his mind. And he can hear me in his head now.
Along with me diving deep into his mind. Dad.
Dad. Please.
And I'm I'm using every effort to push through and be like, what happened?
You delve into your father's mind, and even unconscious. He gets to make a save, right? If you go deep.
Uh oh. I yeah, I thought he was un. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. I think it's a window.
Where he is right now. He doesn't know.
Wisdom saving for 16.
You try to push into your dad's mind and run into a brick wall. Wherever, whatever he is experiencing or has gone through, you recognize the there's a familiarity to it.
The practice that you would do sometimes, where he would show you the difference between resistance and acquiescence, and the fine-tuning of how to work this gift.
And as you run into something, it is your father's mental faculties full in their strength, uh, as hard as he can.
Some vestigial reaction of his to protect what he can, and you run right into it, and you can't get through.
I'm sorry.
Can we see it? Can I see anything on her face? Like I mean.
I'm gonna fix this dad, I promise. I'll save you. I promise.
And I just collapse into Dana.
Over her head. Dana just looks at you and you say Yeah.
Is there anything I can do to ensure that Reese isn't feeling any pain?
Yeah. Um well let me ask you this. Uh what do you think Phil would try? Just looking? Is she just looking for any signs of that? Any sort of residual.
Yeah, so any kind of tension in the body, any kind of um make a medicine check for me.
I'll say it advantages you have time, and this one's important.
Twenty-one.
Twenty-one? Okay. Phil. You with that. There's a phenomenon called locked-in syndrome, where someone can be not in physical pain, they don't show or manifest any outward signs of any tension or anything like that, but are mentally things are still going. They are not necessarily in anguish, but there is an element of his mind is still at work.
Some of the things that give that away, as you get really close, you can just faintly see like the outlines of his eyes moving beneath his lids. You see he has his breath is regular and deep. Um, there is no latent tension or anything like that, but you sense as you put your hand on him and go about it, you sense like the those very tiny micro jitters.
Um, and it can happen with certain traumatic brain injuries.
It can happen with um typically it is with traumatic brain injuries, but um the prognosis is mixed. Sometimes people wake up and they're totally fine and they remember nothing. Sometimes they wake up and they remember a lot, and sometimes they don't wake up.
Right.
Um you've you've seen or heard of this before. Um you know that he's not in physical pain. What he's experiencing mentally, hard to hard to say.
I'll lock eyes with Dena and look down at Ilya, and she's just Yeah, she's a mess. And I just catch her eyes to make sure that Dena knows that I know what's happening, but that I can't do anything.
And you feel your mom if she squeezes your hands on something else.
We can find the way to fix it. We will find a way to fix it. I know it's this is important. It's momentary discomfort, right?
I'm I'm gonna lie down and curl up next to him, like a little, little kid. And I know that the telepathic bond is still there, like the moment that they leave. And I'm just gonna talk to him. My daddy was really good. It's all it's all mentally, so I don't want to say any of it out loud.
I uh I got to fly over the city. It was so beautiful. I think I made up with this all. I got to go to the party. It was really fun until everything went wrong. But you would have been proud of me. I killed so many of those guys. I kissed a bugbear.
There it is.
And I just tell him about everything, and I'd just like class fuck this, Dad. And I'm gonna find a conquell. And I'm gonna take care of everything. I love you so much. As the time for the telepathic speech is only about four minutes.
Tell him about your day. Not long after, your mom comes in, gives you a cup, makes you drink it. Cut over to the guys, pile up the bodies out in front of the house, make your way into town.
Looking for our boy. Yeah, it's it's like two, yeah, it's probably two in the morning right now. Um, things are still in swing in the middle of the like everything's kind of congregated now to the middle of town, which is makes him easy to find. But eventually you do spot Dom. Um, he's standing next to his dad, as they're just kind of like watching.
Um you'd like to do the honors, Ramsey.
Uh uh Dom.
Oh, and he trots over. Um Gus kinda.
Um wean in Savison Sooths has been attacked by some goblin group known as the Dirac.
And he like whistles real fast, and you see as his dad like whips over, and then you see like you didn't see them, but like three other Thornwatch just like come out of like the side streets. We we killed a lot of them, but everything's alright.
We stacked up the bodies in front of the place. Um, but yes, uh we don't know. Um we turned in class Verheag earlier this eve. We don't know if it's related or not. But uh the bugbears, well, they're eruptus and things, so it might be worth keeping an eye on the place tonight.
Um and you see Gus, Gus runs over fast, and uh Dom turns him, Dad, get word attack it. There's been an attack in the city on Sooth and Salves, get some of the guys over now. And you see Gus like goes off and he kind of like looks around real quick. You see as he casts a very quick spell, and you see as uh like an owl flows down from the tree, you see him talk to it, you don't hear what he says, and it off into the distance.
And then you see as he gestures, makes a quick series of hand gestures and just says Sooth and Salves and four Thornwatch. Book into the night. Awesome. That's cool. Thank you. Um, everyone's okay.
Yes.
Everyone is as they were. Dana was. She was injured, but she's fine. She's recovered.
Illa's there.
unknown Okay.
So that's Ilya.
Reese is um.
I think you know. Dana didn't say, she just said she was looking for Ilya, but in incapacitated.
He's uh bedridden.
Thank you. Uh we're gonna we're gonna just we'll just go.
You can imagine how Ilya's taking it. Yeah. Use a soft touch where you can. I'll just observe for tonight.
And he he goes to take off and he puts his hand on your shoulder, squeezes it. Thanks, Ramsay.
You can always count on the veil.
And he heads off into the night.
You know, you could take credit for things too.
Yeah, I don't think that's wise.
Why is not?
Why?
Uh well, because the veil is um a hero. I'm merely his entourage.
Right.
Um do you want to get a drink? Yes. That sounds good. My red thorn is still open, yes. For you.
And for you. Of course it is.
That's something I want to talk to you about there.
It's um I can walk a few paces ahead. No, it's alright. Uh we can talk later. I just um It's been a weird night, hasn't it?
Fair enough. I uh an alternative. I may want to talk to you as well.
I can walk a few paces.
Nah, it's alright.
Alright. I'd probably listen anyway. You're starting to grow on me. Just a bit. Just a bit. Be careful. I'm contagious. You should get that checked out. There's no cure.
What a shame. Maybe I'll fix it and uh made the way to the red thorn.
unknown Okay.
Make your way in, and nothing here has changed from the moment you maybe just people are drunk.
Sprouting.
So much blood. So many spinning.
Would you like to clean something, isn't it?
I'm sorry, it smells like everything smells like a everything smells alright. In general. You guys uh saddle up to the bar. Yeah. The two of you. Um Sha, are you stringing with that?
I'll hop back for a sec and I'll I'll do a quick uh cheers. Quite the first sprouts and hey. One for the books. Uh speaking of, I should go check in on those.
Guys.
unknown Oh.
What a night.
I can imagine.
Yeah. It hasn't slowed down at all since you arrived.
Well, my feet hurt. Hey, you know, you work a double, you make more money, so and it's a busy night, so you know. The more you hate your job, the more money you make, honestly, in this industry. So enjoy it.
Should I?
unknown Never mind.
Okay.
Yep.
Take care, my friends here. I'm gonna check in with the boss. Good done.
Any harpies out there today? Um not quite obvious.
Uh yeah, there's been much heroism. Oh, cool. Okay, tell me all about it. I you have to stay here.
I would like to slip away. You yeah, you slip through the crowd. Yep. Make your way up the stairs, past the person that is very clearly there.
Uh I'll give them a nod.
Is it Jimmy? Um no, Jimmy's a bit at the bar tonight. Tonight is uh it's um a new person. It's a new guy. Someone I probably have seen. He's usually they usually put him down in the pits on fight nights. Um, and he's usually kind of keeping an eye on the crowd and stuff like that. Um I don't know if you've ever actually been introduced to this guy.
Well, that's fine. He just he just you recognize him, you nod? He recognizes you. Yeah, he recognizes you.
unknown All right.
In there.
You look down.
Shaw! Hello, darling.
How are you, mate?
Come on in. Be careful, I'm sweaty and bloody and she. What happened?
So much happened. Where do I start?
Um turns and she closes the door, walks over, and uh yeah, she has like a little setup with her little kettle and else. I'll sit down in the same chair I sat in last time. Okay. Hesitantly. Yeah. She she she likes. Don't worry. You're off the hook for now. Don't worry, I have a tally. And she brings you over a small gnome-sized cup of tea.
So it's like a little bit amazes me.
Still good though. Very strong.
She has it in her hand. She walks over and walks up her little set of steps into her big armchair that she sits in. I'll set it down on a little cup, please. So why are you covered in blood and how much of it is yours? Alright.
Well. And it's gone. Alright. Don't be ungrateful.
I mean, it's just it's the small scope.
And she walks.
She walks off the little thing that walks off. Refills your cup. I don't have to. I need to get bigger cups. It's fine.
And she really hands it back over to some right down. I mean, wait. Um Right, the blood. Uh we were at the bar earlier. Um and we were gonna enjoy this routine. And uh Tizzle actually came up while we were enjoying the festivities, and told Elia she needed to go home. And so Van and I escorted her, and we ran into Ramsay and Dom on the way, and they were doing the same, it seemed.
And when we got to the house, we noticed that was at the windows and the roofs, and broke in. So we ran in to help.
unknown Okay.
Uh we dispatched them. Alright. Uh didn't catch much. But it seems race is in some type of way. Ill unconscious or something. And waking up. It's not a cart, but of course Alia's distraught, and so is Dena.
Seems that'll have to factor into the calculus over the next couple of days. Right. It seems unexplainable. I don't know, but it's been a very eventful evening.
Well, that was the end of it, actually. There's more.
Okay. We went to the split keel, uh, ran into no other than class. Interesting. And we chatted with him a bit.
Overheard some things that he said to some oak bears. He was betraying us. Huh. So I took care of it. Did you? I didn't get as much information as I would like, but our caravan routes are. They need to be changed. He was given the information for the caravan routes to the boat bears to attack them. Ransack them, take the goods.
He's with the coin clubs now, but that's I don't think he will be for much longer. Ah, and I sipped my drink.
Well, Sean, that's a rather encouraging bit of initiative than you, Sean. Learned so much from you. Indeed, you have. And I appreciate you. So, Class betrayed the trade and gave over caravan routes, is that right? Yes. Uh the Where are they now?
The the routes, uh, he I believe he gave the information, some papers to the Mogbears, and I remember over here in the Direc clan or tribe. Is that bringing a bad?
Yes, rather unfortunately. They've been a plague on some of our eastern and southern routes for quite some time. Class. Bastard.
Oh, I'll just go got this, and I'll pull the dagger out and place it on the table. I think that was a gift from them to him or something. I it's been a day, I don't remember. Picks it up, looks at it.
Is it useful or is it just mundane? And you see the faintest little flash in her eyes.
Interesting. Oh.
Keep it. Alright, well. Do tell. It's called a Skoker's knife. I think we should.
Well, it should come quite in handy, particularly for well, our little sojourn.
And she stands up. She walks over around to the side of you. You've done good, Shaw.
But those rants are in the wind, and we'll need them back.
And she walks over to her closet. She opens it up. See that you hear the faintest combination of clicks as it opens. She reaches up into one of the pouches and she pulls out a vial. And inside you see a sort of orange liquid. And at the there's a very fine like scroll along the bottom of like a label that is on the um on the bottle itself.
And it says Halen Industries. How do you spell that? H E I L I N. You've probably seen these before. Okay. Um, they're very rare and very expensive. This is a potion of rapid rest.
Oh shit. I don't see what the symbol looks like.
Thank you. She looks at you, she says, drink up, Sean. You've got a long night ahead of you. We're going hunting. And we'll pick up their night.
Sorry, did you mess up unless you're sorry, right? She you got a night ahead of you, buddy. So one of those. And we'll see what that means. Next time we return. When we come back to our next episode, we are gonna be doing something that we have not done uh yet on in my tenure here on the show. Which is a couple of uh sort of solo episodes.
So you will see limited members of the cast over the next couple of episodes as we will dive into some uh personal things that happen to them and some personal journeys that they go through. Whatever personal about what's happening in this guys and gas. Yeah, yeah, just guys and gas and gaps. Um so as when we return next time, you will see uh only a limited selection of our of our current table.
Probably well, yeah. Um we will we'll see. We'll see what happens. Um that's gonna be it for tonight's episode. We hope you enjoyed watching as much as we did playing. We'll see you next time. Bye, Ventur.
Hey there, venturers. It's your friendly neighborhood editor, Shane. Thanks so much for being here with us. We really appreciate you. I want to reiterate what Seth said.
