This Week in Horror History | Halloween Primer: Blade, Exorcist III & American Werewolf

Blade, The Exorcist III, and An American Werewolf in London lead This Week in Horror History for August 17–23, 2026. Revisit Wesley Snipes' Daywalker, William Peter Blatty's supernatural detective story, the home invasion of You're Next, and Rebecca Hall's haunted grief in The Night House. Fred Dekker's Night of the Creeps takes the spotlight with alien parasites and undead fraternity brothers. Horror birthdays round out the calendar before Rick Baker's werewolf transformation earns this week's recommendation. Build a watchlist that moves from vampire action to full-moon tragedy.
