Mary Beth Barone on Comedy Special 'Galaxy Brain', Overcompensating, Gay Awakenings, and Katy Perry

Our queen Mary Beth Barone joins us in the studio for the first time! The comedian, writer and 'Overcompensating' cast member is here to talk about her new stand-up special 'Galaxy Brain,' (let’s get this girl a Grammy!), her love of female pop stars, Katy Perry's impact on society, and that time she accidentally did meth (oops!). We also get into her gay awakening, the differences between dating men and women, and why trying is actually very hot.

Mary Beth takes us back to her pre-comedy life, from dropping out of college and training to be a makeup artist to dreaming of becoming a Disney Channel star, and getting in early working at Warby Parker (cha-ching!). She opens up about a particularly difficult year, losing her dad, heartbreak, dating the wrong people and finding her way back to comedy. Plus, we talk about the 'Overcompensating' writers room, Benito Skinner, the lack of female role models in comedy, that Marissa Cooper dress, foreskin, and so much more.
