What if your desire to connect with something greater isn’t something you learned—but something you were born with?
In this episode of Frequency with Clovistia, Grace Star and David Hauser explore the possibility that spiritual instinct is part of being human. From children’s intuitive wisdom to the compassion we witness in animals, they reflect on the moments that make us feel connected to something beyond ourselves.
Grace shares a powerful memory from her near-death experience, describing what she experienced as a vast ocean of love, and introduces Clovistia’s imaginative explanation of universal consciousness. David reflects on his own spiritual journey through meditation and Buddhist practice, exploring how presence, sound, and creativity can help us feel more connected.
Together, they discuss:
• Universal consciousness and the idea of oneness
• Empathy, compassion, and our instinct to help others
• Surrendering fear and becoming more present
• Our relationship with plants, animals, and the natural world
• Meditation, humming, music, and art as paths to connection
• Finding a community where you feel understood and uplifted
Whether you’re beginning your spiritual journey or exploring questions you’ve carried for years, this conversation invites you to consider: What is that inner pull toward connection—and where might it lead you?
What does spiritual instinct mean to you? Share your thoughts or send us a question for a future episode.

Welcome to Frequency with Clovistia. I'm your host, Grace Star, once again, and I have Mr. David Hauser today, and our Dr. Katherine Lehman is not available, so she's not going to be joining us. Welcome, David.
Well, thank you. Uh it's uh kind of overcasts here today in Brazil. We just had a few storms pass through, but uh it's it just uh seems to be happening around the globe, all these really big weather issues. Uh probably a part of what's happening right now with uh with Venus making its last uh move in its this giant star it's been creating out out in the universe with the the earth in the center of it.
Uh it's returning uh back into uh Scorpio on on um on Saturday, and that will be the last leg in this giant star. And I'll I'll give you a diagram of it later. But it's the day that it goes, you know, it is still in retrograde, and it's gonna be our morning star here pretty soon. But uh the day it hits this last move is the day Mercury goes retrograde.
So we'll have both these planets in retrograde, which means that it's really time to reflect and and have a look at uh our our our place in the the big inky black of the universe and and the uh the truth of existence. And I think one of those truths is what we talked about universal consciousness and and how awareness plays a role in that.
You know, absolutely. It's one of the things that Clovistia talks about with me endlessly when she's channeling stuff. She wants to channel everything as if the universal consciousness is right there at the center of what we need to be paying uh attention to, which uh was is different for me. Like I really wasn't necessarily taught that as I was a kid.
And perhaps you listeners weren't necessarily taught that when you were growing up, that you need to pay attention to this huge frequency that's out there.
Yep, yep. And it's a it's a low frequency oscillation that I think is the hum of the universe, you know, just like resonating at this very deep, deep uh you know, frequency that that has all the information that ever was in it, uh just traversing time space and knocking on our door, trying to say, hey, do you want to come out and play?
No, it's true. I once I told Clovistia, I said, stop it with the universal consciousness. Give me a reference guide that I can give listeners so that they can understand a little bit about what you're talking about. So uh Clovistia said, okay, so imagine this. We have to use our imagination here, listeners.
Imagine that all people on the planet are standing on um some soil of some type. They're not in the water, they're all standing, and your feet are grounded to the ground, and you're gonna imagine that you have 12 dimensions, which you do, and um, in those 12 dimensions, everything that's existing in that, so you have all your past, your present, your future all around you.
So think about imagine this bubble that's around you with all of this information. Then we're gonna plug in the planet, we're gonna plug in everything alive on the planet that's not human, all the animals, all the fishes, all of the trees, all the all the that has frequency. You're gonna have all that.
So imagine all this vastness to begin with. Then we're gonna start putting water rising up around everything. And at first the water feels strange because we're not used to the water. But as the water continues to rise, we become aware that we're becoming part of the water because it's becoming warm and it's becoming part of us, and it is making us feel like we're engaged and warmer and warmer, and you let that go all the way up until it covers you.
And so now the entirety of everything and all of the dimensions are all covered with this. And if you were to put electricity in that, for those of you that know about electricity, water is an awesome, you know, conduit, and that that uh electricity will go planet wide. And that's the tip of the iceberg, the tip of the iceberg of what universal consciousness is because there's every awareness for every single thing on the planet through so many dimensions, and yet you're at love and peace as a human, and then that's a tip of what she's trying to um express to us about universal consciousness.
And it's a long way to get to all of it, uh for sure. And I always love that now, don't she? I'm always like, oh, this is a good one.
My friend Lob Sangh, who is uh uh one of the people who left Tibet with his with the the Dalai Lama in 1948, um he he and I were he he he does all the big sand paintings that you see, the Tibetan sand paintings, which are the mandalas, which are really beautiful. But he and I were joking around and saying, is it the one electron or is it the many electrons?
Which is kind of a a cosmic joke because it it's it's both and is none. But in in that in the that idea, it's like what you were just saying, how you know it is it is the electron, it's the energy that that ties everything that animates the material universe, and and it of course engages consciousness and also engages awareness of consciousness.
And that's where we uh that's where our individual identities come into play. And and it's it's through us and through our awareness that consciousness can see itself and um interact with this material universe and in all of us. So it is so playful and it is so energetic. And why we block it out and and try to pretend it's not there, right?
It just astounds me. Like, are you kidding me? You know, it's it's alive all around us, and the more we can play with it and interact with it and recognize it, the more it can bring us uh the outcomes that that are always that are percolating in our hearts always.
I think that most people that are out looking for spiritual answers are doing it because of the universal consciousness. It's like knocking on the door saying, you know, there's more than this out there, so you need to go look for it. And those doors are going to open for you with uh people or podcasts or friends or, you know, to take you to the places that uh you need to go, even if you don't realize that you need to go, kicking and screaming and saying, yo, it doesn't exist.
I hear that every day. They're like, no, no. But it's known by a lot of names. I call it universal consciousness, mainly because she does. But collective consciousness, what are some of the other ones that come to mind that are really common?
Mana in uh ancient American Indian traditions.
Um yeah, hoponopono.
Uh yeah, that's a big one. That's a big one.
Mm-hmm.
And it's a good thing.
But all cultures, all cultures, no matter what, uh, you know, uh the ankh, the onk and Egyptian. Um all cultures have this idea of of consciousness, uh, the all-seeing eye, if you will. Yes. That is that is always um, you know, prevailing uh everything that exists in in in like what you said, and all together at once.
Yeah. All happening at once. How can you imagine even get your brain around that? And I never would have understood that if I hadn't experienced that when I was on my on the other side in my death experience. I was standing in the universal consciousness, experiencing it as a massive ocean of love and not knowing what it was because I was a kid, but knowing that it was so profound that it didn't fit in my head when I came back.
Uh that uh energy, that experience, it just didn't, it didn't fit because it was too big. And then you know, later doors are opened and you start learning and you find out. That's what that was. That that universe that was the universal consciousness. It was protecting me on the other side and uh connecting me with the divine source who was there.
And so it uh I think everybody just needs to. I always say this, you need to surrender because you need to stop fighting and and you know, denying and just more say this is real and surrender to it and just experience where it's going to take you.
That's true. Fearlessly, surrender to it fearlessly. Um, I think a lot of people in their near-death experiences uh have to have that. They have to have that moment where it, you know, they're either going to, you know, uh panic or they're gonna surrender. And when you surrender at that moment of death, it is so sublime.
And you you're able to embrace that that connection between awareness and consciousness and merge with consciousness. Uh in Hinduism, it's the universal form where all things coexist together all at once. And it's it's it's nothing to be afraid of. It's it's something to run towards instead of away from.
Yes.
And the more that you do surrender, the more the outcomes that are meant to be in your life show up as if by magic.
Yeah, yeah, it's so true. This planet is so thirsty for people to connect to this. And a lot of our problems is going to be corrected when people start connecting. Just connect to the universal consciousness. If that's all you're able to do today, and if you're hearing our voices, just connect to the universal consciousness and just surrender to what's out there for you.
And then see what is going to. I think that it would change a lot of things and it would correct a lot of the negativity that's going around this planet and a lot of the wars and challenges and everything that's going on. And these are just people that are disconnected. They just need to connect. And I do believe it would benefit.
It's as simple as what you talked about, you know, seeing everybody standing on the surface of the earth, and then seeing all the plants and the life and down to the microscopic level, you know, up to the it sucks, you name it. Yeah, yeah. Everything down at the microscopic level, the mac microcosm and the macrocosm.
And when you can be in that p that state of awareness where you're you lose your identity, your ego, you surrender everything, then you are in that zero point, in that state where you have a symbiosis with consciousness. And I think another thing that we need to say is that consciousness itself is nothing but love.
Plants. People have no respect for plants and trees, and you really need to because the frequency that they generate is so healing, especially when you're connected to the universal consciousness and you allow that plant-based frequency in, it can be very healing for you, you know, mentally, physically, spiritually.
They're so grounding for the human being.
I don't understand people who don't have reverence for plants. Wow. Like they can just pull them out of the ground or chop down a tree with with no remorse.
Yeah.
You know, like they're nothing. And and they are so vital. And we keep learning more about them. We we're we've discovered that trees do talk to each other. You know, and we discovered that plants actually do have feelings and can be affected by the way you feel towards them. You know, so that's why birds sing in the morning, because when they sing, that that frequency, just like I sing to my plants in the morning, opens up the pores in the leaves of the plants and and out comes oxygen.
Oh my God, go figure. You know, this there again, there's this symbiotic relationship between all life. I mean, even if you like try to push, step on a bug or squish a bug, the bug runs. It does. The bug knows that what's going on.
It sees the foot and it starts moving away.
Yep, yep. Or try to squish it with your fingertips. Yes. Or tiny, tiny little spiders or tiny, tiny little bugs. You know, everything is clinging to life because everything has a frequency that is necessary for us to experience a material material universe in the most loving and daring way. And when we come back to that moment, then then we are all sitting together with consciousness.
Yeah. It's true. If you can connect with the universal consciousness like the plants and the insects do, it's impossible for you to be a bad person because you cannot do that anymore. Your your consciousness won't allow you to do that anymore. You cannot, you cannot go to war, you cannot do those things, you cannot create famine for others.
You it's impossible for you to do that if you really understand universal consciousness. The way that plants and little creatures do. Now, they might not know about death, but they know to look out that something's bad is coming their way. And where does that come from? You know, I mean, animals are born with an instinct of preservation.
And I often wonder, and Clovistia has channeled the question is do humans have spiritual instinct? Do you have an instinct that can an innate desire to connect with the universe, the divine, and the consciousness that is out there? Is that within you when you can hit this planet, young kids start talking about it as soon as they can talk?
They talk about other times, places, lives, relatives, love. They talk about a depth of love that you it's like it it goes away. It fades and it goes away as you age. But when you're a little kid, I do believe that humans are born with a spiritual instinct to go back to what they know and where they came from.
Some call it empathy. I call it empathy. I just saw this disclosure day, the Steven Spielberg movie. And I gotta tell you, it got really panned by the critics. You know, oh, he's just doing this to Steven Spielberg. No, this is a very powerful, profound movie. Uh, if you love colors and and you you you you understand the language of color, you gotta see this movie.
But in in what really took me aback by the whole movie is when when the planet together saw the mistreatment of an alien. The empathy that you felt in this movie and the empathy of the people who are watching this mistreatment of a creature, you know, it it was profound. It w you gotta see this movie if you haven't seen it yet.
I have I'll have to I'll have to find out the link. We'll put it on our website for others that want to connect uh, you know, with it, because empathy, altruism, you know, the desire to help other people. And where does that come from? There's lots of kids that are born and they want to go out right away.
They see someone in danger or in need, and they just feel that emotion that I have to help and I have to step in. Even if they have nothing, they're gonna give them their little tiny piece of whatever because it's it comes from the heart. It comes from a place of like perfection that uh I do believe we're born with it.
Yeah, the it's the resting place of consciousness.
You call it that, I'll call it the kindergarten stuff. You can call it the high school stuff, the big words.
But the the the outcome is the same. And what I I really like watching these videos where animals rescue babies or or or other animals, interspecies help other interspecies animals. Absolutely a lot of dangerous situations through compassion, how horses just know when somebody's being troubled and will walk up and nuzzle you, or you know, just just be have empathy and compassion for you.
Absolutely. It is so beautiful and it is so real. And I think you know, there's there needs to be an empathy or a compassion channel that just YouTube videos all day long that shows the results. You cannot deny it. And when you go and look at it as a human being, I don't care how messed up you are in your head, it moves you.
It turns on your buttons that need to be turned on for sure. You see that, you know. Um and you see it almost every day. Everybody sees it on the internet, TikTok, and everything. They see the, you know, the group of dolphins swimming along, and there's a narwhal swimming along too. Why? Because the narwhal baby got lost and it had no mom and dad.
So the mom dolphin said, Come on, you're part of our tribe now. You're a little stranger than the rest, but we're gonna take care of you, we're gonna defend you, we're gonna protect you and feed you. Where does that come from? Universal consciousness.
And universal consciousness is knocking on our door all the time. All the time. You know, it's trying to get us to pay attention and to be present. You know, it's like, here, here's a set of numbers, 1111, or here's a license plate with 1111 on it, or here's a billboard, you know, that that has your name on it, or has the name of somebody you care about, or or just all these things that come out of left field, meeting people that that have the same views and feelings about life that you do, that just come out of left field, you know, and maybe like for me, I don't even speak the language, but I know what somebody somebody is in the same head space and hard space that I am, that you know, uh we
attempted to communicate that with us because we're both feeling that resonance.
Some people want to hug other people, they're compelled to hug other people and to feel that frequency and joy, you know, especially, you know, like Muslims when they go to Hajj, after they come back, there's a belief that the holiness comes with them. It's like you fill yourself up with holiness while you're on your journey of Hajj, and now you're coming back.
Everybody wants to hug you until you're empty because they don't know how else to connect with that.
Very powerful. It's very human, and it's it's it's that moment of complete surrender where you're not thinking about Jack. You're just in the moment of whole holding another soul in your arms or being held by another soul in your arms. And there's there's no chatter. It's just it's just consciousness itself, you know, smiling through you through your heart.
And by coincidence, when you're hugging someone, it is heart to heart. Just pointing out that physiological thing that actually happens, I think we don't really understand the heart either. It's just not a it's a place of consciousness. It is in our brain, but it's in our hearts. And when you hug each other like that, there's that frequency exchange that is so unique with that person.
This is something that, you know, we need to sit with, we need to feel it resonate, we need to uh, you know, I I've done mantras for so long, and now I realize I just don't want to do mantras anymore. But I make sounds, you know? I think everybody should practice that because it's through that resonance that you can sit, be present, and sit with consciousness, you know, even if you just go, hmm.
I think it's Whatever it is, I whatever it is, just make a frequency and and and lose yourself in that split moment, surrender completely and feel the universe and feel like what you started this conversation out with everybody's feet in the ground.
People often say, I need I think I need to learn to meditate. Well, that's a really good place to start. You can learn a lot of things just by learning to meditate, and you learn about yogis and other things and different the depth of it. It just goes on and on that you can learn. So, what told you to look for meditation?
Where did that come from?
Just like what you were saying about the children to sort of know. I was meditating, you know, already uh since I was a little kid because that was my moment of presence. You know, if it wasn't, you know, it it uh r led to me reading the Bible because that was the holy word, and I could be very, you know, uh focused on that.
But uh Ken Atterbury actually took me to meet Maharishi Yogi, Mehesh Yogi. And I, you know, I was initiated into Amazing Teacher. Yeah. You know, and then that led to my my uh discovery of of Tibetan Buddhism, which made a lot of sense to me. And I studied and practiced that for 50 years. So and Zen, you know, Zen is but whatever it is, whatever your Zen is, it could be like going to uh uh do dance music out in the out in the desert or or wherever, you know, whatever pulse or whatever frequency keeps you focused and keeps you present and and helps you dissolve yourself, you know, that's your thing, whether it's doing art or taking photographs or or you know, playing a musical instrument, whatever
it is, you know, the we as human beings and as sentience in this this material universe, we need to make a frequency.
You know, I mean it's true if you think about it. I mean, life evolved all around this planet, but we know from different, you know, different types of arts that as soon as humans, you know, got to the point that they didn't have to run for their lives continuously throughout the day, and they were able to feed themselves and take care of their families, they went straight to art.
And they did dance and they did paintings, they did music because it calms the soul. And it they were just driven to go do that, rather you whatever that you want to call it. And so, you listeners, I know that a lot of you talk about that when you write in that uh, you know, what is this this you know that's pulling me in a direction?
Well, probably you need to go that way and at least try it.
Community comes from the word commune. And when we are all together, we are communing. And to commune is to resonate together, to become one frequency together.
Yes, one frequency.
That's why when people come out of, you know, a church or they come out of, you know, a tem a synagogue or or a I'm sorry, I don't a mosque. You know, they they feel refreshed. They feel awake, they feel ready to engage in life, and there there's joy there, there's happiness, you know, or an or a uh an ashram, not an ashram.
Sangha. Sangha in Buddhism. Sorry, took me a minute. I'm getting old. But yeah, that that's where the you come out with a joy because you have resume resonated with your community, you know, and you communed on a level that is not mundane. So yeah, uh everybody out there who's watching this program, find your place to commune.
Find that group of people that resonate like you do, that you know are able to build you up so that you want to go there and you want to share that frequency with them. It all comes around to frequency, and I know Clovistia says that all the time. That's why our show is called Frequency, because it is, it's all about frequency.
So find your special place, your special group, you know, whether it's a yoga or workout at the gym or wherever you're temple is. Yeah, riding that horse wherever that temple is.
Yeah.
You know, hiking, whatever.
Yes. That personal temple, absolutely.
I love doing this with you, and I look forward to uh coming coming back next week. Next week, yeah. Don't forget people, send us if you want us to talk about something, send us, drop us a note. We're very eager to uh chat about whatever subject is, whatever frequency is on your mind.
Yes, we would love to talk about that. Apple Podcasts for sure. You can find us over there. Clovistia.com, you can find us over here. Send us what's on your mind so that we can talk about it. And as always, share your frequency.
