Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome back to Travis Told You on a Friday, October 2nd, 2026.

Happy October. I have not been around for an October cast. I was mad I wasn't on yesterday's cast. No, I wasn't mad. Good to see Digger. I'll be reviewing Digger this weekend. Look out for it. But October, the happiest time of the year for me. Halloween upon us. All Halloweens upon us. You got like the fall colors, the fall weather. The pumpkin, I'm not really a coffee guy, but like the pumpkin spice, but just pumpkin pies. Pumpkin, everything.

I like the smell of pumpkin. You got that going on. You got the decorations. You got ghost stories. You like, you know, is there something spooky in the dark? I don't know. It's the season of which I fucking love Halloween. If you're a new listener, just know that. I love Halloween. I cannot get enough of Halloween. October is my favorite month.

And I think that's why I always went back and forth between fall and October. Being like, hey, which one do I, or fall and October. fall and spring. Those are definitely my two favorite seasons. And then I think I've landed on fall just because of the October, the Halloween-ness of it all. It's watching scary movies. It's a great time. I fucking love October. So I hope everyone is doing well. I hope everyone's doing good today. Yeah, this is the episode. I was going to do it earlier, but it kind of worked out. So what I'll be doing is you do technically get two Traps Told Yous this week. I'm doing this. And then later on, I'm going to record my Digger review. That's going to be not live, just because I won't have time to set

time aside to do it live. And plus, that review, I'll look at it, what, domestically, six to nine million. I don't think the chat's going to be lighting up being like, what do you think about Digger? But that's going– it's definitely– I can say this– I guess I'd have to think about it, but I think it is easily the most interesting, unique movie I've seen this year.

I can't be, oh, of all time, there's some crazy movies out there, but of this decade, for sure, it is something, it is not what it seems, it makes sense why, because sometimes people go, oh, I can't really talk about this in a spoiler way, I just Oh, shucks, because I've seen it. And then you see the movie, like, you could have talked around this. I will do a non-spoilers.

I will talk around it. This is definitely a very, very, this actually fits the bill of, yeah, unless you've seen the movie, very hard to talk about. Very hard to talk about. And who knows, because my wife had no interest in it. I told her what some of the reveals and twists were, and then she's like, you know what, I'm actually more interested now. So it's very interesting. So we're going to talk about that. So that's the second episode, Traz told you. And then we've got the gimmick this weekend.

That'll be on Saturday. Talking about Mind the Bank, Draft Shakeup, a POC watch-along. Go to my Twitter and vote on which match we're going to watch in honor of POC. And then Lantern's finale this weekend. But yeah, so let's see. I've got to get the tweet up there. Um, but yeah, so, and then next week, uh, who knows? So I'll try to do, I can guarantee you at least one dress told you, you know, I, I can never do two cause you never know what life and next week's busy.

We've got some fun stuff starting next week. So look out for that. So, um, yeah, so we're here to talk about today pretty much just Paramount and Warner brothers and now sky dance. My God. Uh, and then a little American horror story season 13 because Mike did ask me some questions about it. So I will. And that's why he joined Patreon and asked questions. And yeah, so it came out. So obviously it's been going on for a while as far as this whole merger thing, right?

And it looks like it's officially done or it's about to be done. I don't know. They're announcing names. You never know, right? Because Netflix put out a fucking email and then like they took it away. But it looks like it's on the way to being done. It is merged into Skydance. Layoffs and rumors have said so. Layoffs have already begun. So that's great. Hopefully people land on their feet, the good people that work hard and do a good job. I wish you the best because obviously we hear it's tough out there, right? So for me, I was never not surprised. We've talked about this kind of to death, right? We talked about this a couple weeks ago. I was not surprised with the way a lot of the political leanings went and how we're going

to get there, right? Today is more about the things, the movie side, what we're going to talk about. Because no, I was not a fan of this for years. A bunch of reasons. Obviously, I don't have to worry as much because I'm not American, so I don't need to worry about CNN, but I work for my friends and family that worry about a lot of things that could happen with the news and the coverage and the way things could be distorted. And then for the movie side, do I worry as well, too? Just because, yeah, I don't...

It's not great, the consolidation of all these things, right? As far as job loss, there's something in one of these reports where they talked about where Allison looks like it was the announcement of G.I. Joe, right? And then Days of Thunder 2, and they're like, oh, that's the stuff they want from Cruise, not Digger. And we'll get into it, but For me, that's a sad statement where you go, man, and these are all like sources, right?

They never went on the record, but that's a sad statement because to me, it's like something like Digger, whether you like it or not, I'm very happy it exists. It's something very unique, very fresh, very, takes multiple big swings, right? And the fact that it's like, ah, you know, we're not going to do that. That's where we're going to go to first with Mike DeLuca and Pam Abdi. I'm on the wrong mic. Oh, thank you, SBubs. for another bonus it's funny because i fucking checked it and i went oh it's on the wrong mic and it wasn't plugged in i plugged in never switched over so i apologize for that first five minutes there thank you to the man in the chair um so this is where it's gonna i'm this is gonna be like a brain

vomit sort of uh cast because it's all over like the issues in the same realm right because today we get okay they are together it's now skydance do i think that's a stupid uh term Yeah, because why don't you go with your... We're losing two big legacy names, specifically Warner Bros., and it does suck, especially Warner Bros., New Line. It's just like, man, there's going to be a time in life where Warner Bros., that logo's not going to pop up before movies, probably, right? But that's the way life is, right? Conan O'Brien, I think when I was younger, I heard him talk about, oh, you know, Cary Grant was the biggest star in the world. No one knows who Cary Grant is now, right? So it's like, you know what? That's why I try not to worry

about that stuff forever. even myself with the other studios. Cause like, you know what? At the end of the day, it sucks, but things come to an end. And just like Mike DeLuca and Pam Hapdy have come to an end. Now it was, and apparently it's going around that they found out online that their jobs were no longer secured and they were no longer welcome in a sense to being the, the chief, the, the chiefs of Warner Brothers films.

Cause people don't remember when David Zasloff got the company, He got the company. He put them in charge of everything. That's how we got Henry Cavill back as Superman for a little bit, etc. Because they're like, yeah, just do that, do that. While they're finding the DC studio stuff, then they split them. And then obviously 2024, I think, was kind of like a mixed year, right? I feel like there were some good, some bad. But then the big one that ended on was Joker fully adieu, right? And that was a bad thing where it's like, oh, they're going to stay. And they stayed. And then they went on to do 2025, which was a massive year for Warner Brothers, right? Lots of big hits. They won the Best Picture, like Superman, Minecraft, Sinners, One Battle After Another.

There's a bunch of them, right? And then there's things like, for this year, The Bride of Frank Sinner, just The Bride, and other movies that got kicked. The working theory and rumor and word and speculation was, oh, they kicked a lot of these movies because they wanted to have those losses next year, not on this great year they're having, because the sale has to do a lot of things right politically, but also with the way of Warner Brothers, we always knew it was going to be sold. it was trying to get it at the highest time for the highest amount of money. So last year, when Warner Brothers is fucking killing it, that's the perfect time to start negotiations. Talking like, look at our studio. Look at

what we can do. Where this year, it's like, ah, we could go down a few more billions, right? Because no matter what, Paramount, that's why they're talking to Saudi and Elon Musk, because they're in a bunch of debt. There's still a version of this in the future where they could be selling off Warner Brothers or assets or their whole company. Who knows, right? It's a mess. So that's what sucks about it. But So they were kept, and then now they are gone. And I can't remember the names of them, but the people that are the chiefs of the Paramount Film Division there, they are going to be co-running it. So it's pretty much, hey, we've put together, we've combined, and now it's thanks for your work,

Pam and Mike, you're out of here, right? Let's see, the quote from the Hollywood Reporter stating that the execs told Gunsaffer to keep doing what you're doing, and apparently Ellison visits said, man, I said it more, which makes sense, right? And we'll get there, and this is why, I guess we can get there right now. And in the same report, and it got confirmed by Deadline, that they said the meeting went well, and Gunn and Saffron are staying there, right?

To me, it's, yeah, and the thing is, before I sort of ran, RJ says, I'm not shocked, but DeLuki and Abdi are out. The rumor is that Netflix and other studio want them. And, like, it would have been more shocking if it happened last year, right, because of Goodyear, but the reason I'm not shocked is because majority of the time, in these situations, in big, like, Other corporate situations than fucking sports teams. When people get a new coach, it's I want my own people, right? So that's the thing where, oh, God. I just saw this Michael B.

Jordan in talks for Battlefield movie. Chris McGorry set to direct. That's another time. So my thing here is there's a few sides, right? I saw it a little bit. I don't fault too many people there with the gut of it. They're safe for now. It's merging. They're not going anywhere. No fucking duh. And there's, I think, both sides of people doing victory laps that are very for James Gunn or very against. There's nothing we learned here. Now, okay, granted, yes, if it would have came to say, yeah, we're getting rid of Gunn now, then you went, okay, yeah, I guess it's gone. That, to me, I'm not going to say, I know obviously these people personally, but with some of the moves and what they've done, I'm going to assume

that the Ellisons and company are complete idiots, right? Pam and DeLuca can go because they already have people that can do those positions. Granted, you can argue if they're as good or as bad, whatever you may be the quality of it, right? But that's not subjective. I guess they're stats, but still they have people that can do that.

And maybe in a couple of years, if it's not as good, that's when you replace them. DC studios was set up. And as we saw, they had to go for a search for DC studios. And that's when you got to gun and saffron. There is nobody to take over for that. I'm not. Okay. I'll walk that back. I'm sure there's somebody. But there's not nobody, like they don't have somebody working on the Paramount CommBook division, right?

There's a whole new division coming in. And that's why for ease of access, not to do, that's one of the main reasons of not to do anything, just to let it lie and get this in, see how it works, see how it goes, right? And the other thing, and I've said this for a while, but this changes nothing. This is my point. Pam and Mike, they had a killer year, right? And then even last year, Sinner's, one after another, Tom Cruise, couldn't do without Pam Mike, couldn't do without him, and even Zasloff, he did some fucking Warner Brothers Oscar dinner, where it's like, you two are the reason we're here, you trailblazers, everyone say these good words, you had a rough year, ah fuck, see you later, goodbye,

and that's where it is all about what have you done for me lately, so that's why this cast, it's pretty much, and I apologize for people that listen all the time to us. I very much appreciate that, but you're going to hear stuff that I've said before, just because I want to reiterate it, that people I don't think are understanding, or they're just worried about their sides.

One thing, I've seen a little bit of what I was talking about, the whole Snyderverse stuff, I'm not even getting into that. I have a few mutuals I was talking about, they follow that, whether it's the grifters, this and that. To me, that was never, that was never a thing. That was never, you're fighting a war that has been over for a long time. Like, where DC is, where Snyder is, where this company is, where those actors are.

I guess that's where it always shows there's always a different fucking parallel universe, right? We talked about this before. I saw, you know, he's in the chat. Thank you, I suppose, for correcting the mic. We talk about this. I'm not sure if it's the same, but last year, too, there was some, like, wrestling TikToks, and we used to talk about, man, these people live in a whole different reality of what they consume and what wrestling is then, right?

It's like, these things they think or talk about would never, ever happen. And I'm not even saying I'm in the know for Hollywood stuff, but more in the know than some people, right? And that's where, with the Snyder stuff, when I saw any of that come up, it's like, even if that was the case, right? Even if that was the case, let's say it opened up today and they said, we're parting ways with Gunn and Saffron, right?

If that was the case, do you think they would bring in Snyder day one, even if they were to bring in Snyder, do you think day one they would just have it ready to go? And I guess that's the idea, right? People think they're talking behind the scenes and stuff. I don't know. Those are fucking crazy people.

And either side, whether you're going, oh, I wish Snyder came back, or oh, I told you Snyder's not coming back, you're wasting your fucking life. You're wasting your time and your energy. I guess if you're having fun, but I see most of these people don't look like they're having fun doing it. You're wasting your time. That's gone. This is a situation that happened a couple weeks ago. Gal Gadot.

Wonder Woman. Oh, Gunn said this. All these things. Does everyone remember? Let's walk down memory lane. For the people that are pro, either it's because they want it, or it'd be like, see, I told you Gunn's staying. Why fucking wouldn't he be staying? Again, I think the Ellisons are smart people. He has directed a movie, and it is coming out. You have so much other things going on.

Why would you shake up that studio? But same thing with that movie. Why would you do that? Why would you... how, what bad kind of chutzpah would you put on that movie if he finishes it and then he gets released? The same way, and we don't know how it's going to go, right? But with Daredevil Born Again Season 3, oh, they're in the post-production process, they're going to do some reshoots, but they parted ways with the showrunner. Well, that's fucking odd.

Why wouldn't you let a runner finish his show, right? So it's the same way of like, if they did this, and let's say Gunn was pissed or whatever, They would not want to come out and get rid of Gunn and then have no director, no Saffron on the red carpet. That'd be fucking odd, right? And that's where Hollywood Reporter also made their same point. They're saying they don't want a repeat of 2023 for DC lame duck movies. But it's still a repeat of 2023 in concept because what I'm saying, in my opinion, is with that, it was like, yeah, we're going to see what happens. This could fit. He had never pointed this way. I don't know. And I think there's probably some version of that, right? Where they said, yeah,

we'd love to do one more three or let's see. Because we've talked about this many times. We all have. It's walking down memory lane. It is. If those movies, if Aquaman 2, Shazam, Blue Beetle, Flash, if anyone, one of the, like, again, if any of them do really well, hit a billion, how do you look at them and say, we're getting room? The same reason why the Batman part two is still happening. Because in COVID, this little bit after, well, not after, but still wasn't the height of it, but still, the Batman came out and made almost $ 800 million. And some people couldn't even fucking see. I don't know in all states, but in Canada, there's some people that could not see that movie because if they didn't have a shot,

they weren't allowed, right? So that's the thing where that movie did that in that time. You would be an idiot to get rid of that and say, ah, let's hope that this works out. I think Gunn is doing the right thing. I think, obviously, it puts him in an interesting situation with delays and everything, but I think that is the right thing from a business standpoint. If you're looking for wins, $ 770 million, go for it. The same way with DeLuca and Abdi. I thought Joker 2 was smart to do. I was wrong. Now, granted, I always said that I did not know the budget was going to balloon like that. I thought, okay, do it for that budget a little more, you're good. Because even if it bombs, you make it back. The budget ballooned,

and then a bomb, C'est la vie, knock it all around, right? And they had an egg on their face. But But this situation, the same way Gunn probably talked to all these people and said, yeah, we'll see what we can do. Let's see what we work on. Let's see what the future holds. I'm very optimistic. Open door policy. Why would the Ellsons and company not be doing that right now?

One of the Batman Part 3 releases would have been today. Don't even get me on the fucking– this is the day we would have got Batman Part 2, right? Like, oh my god. Don't even– there's enough bad news today, right? Yeah. So why wouldn't the Ellisons, if they, let's say they wanted to just get rid of him. They sat down and we have somebody in mind. I don't want to say he's an ex-snacker. Let's just say it's fucking, oh God, it's Bob Iger. Let's say they've talked to Bob Iger and for some reason, let's go with Feige. Let's say Feige's going to be done after Endgame and he wants, or Secret Wars, he wants to jump shit. They had a meeting with him, it went well, they want to get Feige, right? So let's say they know from day

one they want to fire James Gunn. One, obviously Feige couldn't do it right now, but why would they do that when the movie's coming out, all the promotion, when so much is going on? They would say, yeah, we're great to work together. And then even the other scenario of, hey, let's see what he can do. The same thing I've always said, and this is where, and I don't think I'm alone, but there's a lot of people that have went against it, that thought he would get fired or think, oh, he's signed, he's back for a while. To me, it is, it's Tillman of tomorrow and a little bit after. They've said there's extension, but we've never heard what that extension was.

We've heard 2027 extension. His contract was originally ending in 2027, so is it later? To me, it makes sense from all parties, and even Ellison, right? Because maybe he can look at these films and not like them. He'd do something a different way. Maybe he went, oh, why'd they do Supergirl? Whatever it may be. But if Superman comes out and blows up the box office, and Lantern, supposedly, doing really well, right? Not supposedly. Like, the ratings are, it's always tough with streaming, but it's doing very well. Like, averaging 19 million an episode, great, right? And I can tell you from our stats, too, like, those episodes do really well for us. We haven't even announced it. September was our biggest year. September is our biggest year. September

was our biggest month this year. It's a top four month, so it beat what we did. It's been going very well. We thank everyone that has been listening and supporting us. We're going to do more of that later on. But those episodes have done very well. So the chutzpahs, they're lanterns, right? No matter what people want to say, oh, it's woke and Hal's racist and there's white privilege. Doesn't matter. People are watching. The actual people that care and don't dispute just dumb shit that's going on, right? So if they look at that And they go, we like it, or even if we're iffy on it, let's wait and see.

Because why not wait and see? The movie's already shot. If it was right after Man to Mourn, they took over, and obviously you'd have the success there. But let's say, actually go back. Let's say it's right after Superman, where it is a hit, but the word is, internally, they thought it was going to do a little bit more, right?

Still a win, but not the big win. It's, like we said, winning the game by, okay, a couple points, but you thought you were maybe going to dominate the team, right? Why wouldn't you see? Like, it's never... Domino me like anybody that like real people, not the weird Snyder people or people that are crazy people that thought like they'd get fired or extended by a lot right away or all these announcements would happen. Why would that happen now, right?

So it's made no sense, and this makes sense. And even these reports from different A. Esther scroopers, they're safe for now. They're going to be kept on board initially. These words are very key to like, hey, look at Mike DeLuca and Pam Abdee. It is Hollywood. Lots of jobs are right, but Hollywood especially is a, what have you done for me lately? As Bob's, I know one of the Batman release would have been today. I don't need to know about it. I don't need to be reminded.

Fuck me. Fuck me. Uh, let's see. RJ says I could still see gun walking after man to more due to politics, but that's up to him. And that's where it comes down to too. Like we really don't know about like the like a lot of people, right, that are either in the middle or more left-centric go, man, what are they going to do with these products, the news, right?

And maybe it's not, because I've seen people have that theory where, hey, they used the right and Trump to get this done, and that was the working theory. Some people said that maybe this Gavin Newsom approving this or trying to get this done right away was like maybe they're going to support him for president. You don't know.

People flip on a dime all the time. We don't know. By the time we get there in two to three years of getting these films... Maybe I could be watching this and be like, okay, it is run by this family that has this side. But you couldn't tell, right? Like, it's not directly impacting the material in an overt way.

I'm not saying you can't have stuff for the right people that are very heavy Republican. No, of course. We see that all the time, right? But I think in some of these projects, obviously, you've got to strike a balance. And you don't want the entire DCU to be like, something feels a little off now since Paramount has taken over, right?

So for this... You have to wait and see. And Man of Tomorrow really is the make or break. We've talked about that for a while. It really is. The rumor was last week that supposedly Corn Sweat's on board. Not on board, but the idea is they would want to keep Corn Sweat going forward even if there is no Gun and Saffron. That came from a B tier.

To me, that also makes sense of... I've always said if Gun parts ways, whether it's they fire him or he leaves, to me it never makes sense to... reboot again. You know, like, I don't think we're like, cause I just don't think you could survive another, not survive. Some would do well, but I don't think the audience will be there for another reboot. Right. So, um, and yeah, why, and maybe gun will be there and be like, I don't like this vibe I want out. Or maybe what I was saying is same with us consuming the product.

He'll be there and be like, you know what? We don't agree on X, Y, and Z, but I can still work here and work with them and be okay. Which happens all the time in life. I have people that are very, you know, on the right side, not, not on certain issues, certain issues. I'm like, Hey, we're, we're, we're cut from a different cloth, but I know, okay, they're on that side. I'm still friends with them, right?

It's always the bounce and it's always the extremes. Can't be friends with someone that's on an extreme of either side, right? Even if I consider myself more left-leaning, some of the extremes of there you go, we're getting a little, going a little hard, right? So that could, we have no idea. We have no idea. And especially if Man of Tomorrow is a massive hit, Are they going to, like, fucking put their boot on Gunn's neck and say, oh, you should put this in there? No, if it's a hit, you just leave it alone, right? And this is where, for me, why I think they got to wait and see.

I've said this where I am on this camp. I have no idea with Man of Timur. I really don't know. I have taken Manny's pizza bet. I personally do think it's going to do less than Man of Timur, or Superman 20, 25. Obviously, Lanterns is out and doing right now, where S-Bubz does say, yeah, they have to put John Sturt front and... in front of Superman, Man of Tomorrow, supposed to get that box office up. Maybe, or maybe the situation is that, like, they don't, as we talked about before, movie and TV aren't the same, right? It's going to be a situation, the movie audience is going to see him and be like, who's that guy? As I've talked about this before the story, my girls loved Superman, saw the Lanterns preview, we want to watch that. Well,

you can't for X, Y, and Z. So they don't know who this is at all, right? In a sense, like, I'll have to explain, oh, it's Jon Stewart, he's a Lantern, he's blah, blah, blah. So I think we've seen a bit the past few years that the TV and movie audiences don't exactly line up. So don't get me wrong, having Lantern and him on there could help a little bit, but I don't think it's going to go to the stratosphere.

S-Pubs did say LOL, so he's not being serious. Just to clarify for our listeners. RJ says, I think it's more likely Gunn walks away voluntary than gets outright fired. I believe Elson wants Gunn, but I don't believe that Gunn is 100% on board with Paramount's leaders, if that makes sense. I guess the reason I can't go that far is like, no, don't get me wrong. I could see him walking away. I could even see it more for just the creative side, right? Of like, they want to do this, or I don't agree with this, X, Y, and Z. He works under Zasloff. Sounds like very directly, right? Like, Zasloff's known to, it's very well known that Zasloff and Gunn, because obviously Gunn doesn't speak too politically now, right? He

puts a lot of stuff in his movies, even though he tries to walk it back nowadays, you know, in my opinion, or he just kind of steps on his dick a little bit with some comments. And it's like, I just let the art speak for itself. For me, I think that they don't align right in a big way. And guns had no problem working there. So it's the same thing of like, I don't know if that's a make or break for him. I think there's probably like all of us, right? Like I said, extremes, there's lines for everybody. So I'm sure there's something that happens. Okay, that's it. But if it's similar to Zazov, and Zazov was in that same realm, I don't think he's going to go against him. Plus, it's like, what's he going

to do? Obviously, I'm hoping he's saving his money. I think there's a future of Gunn. There's the two ways, right? Where he goes back to MCU, but maybe after running stuff, you won't want to do that. I think there's a really good shot. And even you look at Brightburn, right? They didn't continue on, but they wanted to do a sequel.

They set up a whole universe. They set up different heroes and villains. I think there's a... big-time opportunity in the future that Gunn opens his own studio when it's, like, more independent and doing that type of stuff, right? I could see that. That'd be very exciting, right? You know, that happens a bunch of times in comic book history where people left Marvel and DC and opened up their own thing, right? Like, look at Scott's scenario as far as recently, right? He's back with DC, but still, like, you can do those things. So with Gunn, like, that's the thing. All these scenarios I can see because, as we've talked about before, and again, I'm not chitting on anybody in the chat or listening after the fact, It's

just guesses. We do not know these things. I talked about this multiple times. Again, sorry for repeating. Look at the hunt for Ben Solo. And if it's all true stuff, and whatever it may be, but all, if we wouldn't have had Adam Driver told us, everything would have been, fuck Lucasfilm, fuck Kathy Kennedy, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, yada, yada, yada, which a lot of people, even myself, I've never said, fuck Kathleen Kennedy, but things aren't going well there. I have never said, been that extreme. I've been like, hey, I guess a lot of these issues fall on her or a lot of these issues fall on Dave. But when Driver says, hey, you know, Iger's the one that shot that down and company. Now, is there a chance

that Kathy went to Bob and said, I really don't want to do this. Could you just, sure. But let's take it at face value that Disney shot him down. That's where I went. If that's true, again, we don't fuck all because we just go, oh, that must be the case. They wanted to make a Ben Solo movie and Kathy and Dave said, no, no, it's all they said. Yes, go ahead. And Iger and company said, nah, we don't really want to do that. Right? Which you would go, oh, well, I thought Kathy, I thought Feige had the oversight. Same thing as Wonder Man, right? Who knows this bullshit? The showrunner said, hey, I talked to Feige. He said they didn't want to cancel, but it was out of his control.

Is there a chance that Kim Feige's just lying? Yes. Is there a chance that's higher above him? Yes. That's why we don't know. We're just taking guesses with like educated guesses and we follow the industry, but we really don't know. Even people that like are in the industry might not know because they may. Pam and Mike it could have just been they have a meeting like before oh yeah I love you I love your work let's keep doing this and then they go on their fucking phone and someone texts them hey have you seen this article from Puck News where they're saying they're going to get rid of you tomorrow and then the next morning you wake up they get rid of you it's like you don't know unless you are the very top top

top you don't know what's going on right so that's why for all of us I think all these scenarios are possible of mad tomorrow I can see mad tomorrow do great and if it's way too much politically or way too much creatively james gunn still goes ah fuck it i've done this i've laid the groundwork i want to get out of here right or it's hey i'm happy we don't align we're still working well enough or hey i'm happy like we don't align there's creative stuff i still want the money right because there could be that i we have no idea people talk about james gunn like they know him what if james gunn she's like i want to be a fucking studio head i want that title what if it's an ego thing right I want the title, I want the money, I want

the power, because so many people, how many times, celebrities, this and that, have we seen, look at the fucking Ed Sheeran of it all, right, not to get there, this is a guy, seemed like a cool guy, was political before talking for causes, and now all of a sudden, when he's doing these big tours, I'm apolitical, I don't want to take a stance, money and power changes people, all the time, we've all done things, worked a shift, even where you go like, Fuck, I might hate this person.

I might do this, but I need the money, right? Whether it's for life or whether it's for people trying to get, just build themselves up. When money's involved, that can change anybody's perspective or power. And we don't even know their life situation, right? Like we have no idea what's going on. My God. It's just a work email.

It's just like eye rolling. Man, it's just like, I literally have an email where I've told this person three times the same thing. And it comes back to the fourth time being like, so you mean this? Yeah. That's what I mean. That's what I mean. I've already spelled it out for you. You know? So, with this, let me just make sure I put myself away so they know I'm on lunch. I don't need to deal with that shit right now. We don't know anything. Gone could be that guy that 10 years ago got ostracized for the tweets and got out of there. There could be part of them that go, you know what? I'm going to go harder, fight for the left. Or, because people talk about it all the time, he had grace. He didn't say much. He stayed quiet. Or it's a situation of, oh,

I really fucked myself. I'm never really talking politically again. Even if I stand on this, I don't want to say a single fucking word. Right? So we don't know. And everybody's like, I just want to get that money and get it as high as possible so no one can ever fuck with me again. We don't know this guy.

We don't. And we joke around. We say, educate guests, but we don't. There's all these scenarios. Movie does well, gun stays. Movie does bad, it doesn't. If the movie does well, I'm going to assume he stays unless things are really bad for him over there, right? Because now, because I also thought people would be like, oh, this means we'll get more announcements. I don't know if that's the fact, really. Like, we could get some, but like I, and that was the word going around, right? That it was, DC was out of standstill because they couldn't announce stuff, which I definitely believe. Why would you announce a bunch of stuff when you can't, you don't know the future?

Annie Muschietti said the same thing, right? You don't know the future. And maybe that happens. And if that does happen, to me that is more faith in Gunn and company and Saffron of, hey, announce some stuff, we're going for it. But at the end of the day, announcements are just announcements. Look at Lucasfilm. Look at the DCEU. Where's my Emerald Fenner Zatanna movie? Where's that? Where's my Guillermo del Toro Justly Dark movie? Where's that? Where's all those fucking J.J.

Abrams movies for DC, right? Where's that? These don't matter. They really, like, you know, where's Blade? You know? Holly Report says, DC Ellison has asked James Gunn and Saffron to keep doing it. Okay, we talked about that. Thanks, RJ. Put that in. RJ said, yeah, apparently Diluc and Abdi were blindsided by this. Thought they were safe. So it shows how much it's changed over summer. Right? And same thing.

What if, even then, right? What if there's a situation, I've said this before, They look at Gunn. They look at Reeves. And let's say they wait. Let's say they extend Gunn until 2000. Because even then, this is what people like. And maybe it's just because. Actually, I'll be mad at the people that do this. Listen to podcasts or host them. When you go like, we're not thinking people.

Like even my wife, Emily, my parents. They would not think about it this way, right? Because they're not entrenched in it. But even Emily would get this because she watches sports. They've even said that DeLuca and Abdi are being paid until 2030. Again, it's the same way as a coach or a player. You can hire them, and sometimes there's some contracts where you hire them for five years. Sure, you get rid of that coach, but you're paying them.

There is, I can't remember what team, that had an astronomical amount of stats where how many people they're paying, the amount of it, and those people weren't even on the roster anymore. That's what's happening here. So if anybody wants to throw, even at the extension, if anyone wants to throw in my face, let's say next week we get James Gunn and Pierre Safran extended to 2030. But then, we come to July. Man of Timor disappoints, and we come to February of 2028, and Batman 2 fucking kills it.

And Allison goes, you know what? I'll make Matt Reeves the guy. And maybe Matt Reeves doesn't want that, right? But in Allison's mind, and maybe Matt Reeves would. Maybe he would be like, hey, I... Or maybe it'd be a situation where it's like, you can keep your Batman stuff. We would like you to... Like, the same thing. A Peter and James Gunn. What if he gets another Kray where it's like, Reeves, we would like you to be like a... You know, uh... A console, the same way Nolan kind of got, and some people worked, some people didn't, but the way Warner Brothers went, hey, we want you to do Superman. He said, no. And he thought, I got an idea for you. Go to this guy. The same way Nolan for a little bit was the gateway

to Snyder. What if that's Reeves? What if he's a guy where, okay, they have this idea for a, for the next Flash movie, right? They have this idea. Okay, write the script, find some people. Now you've got to go pitch to Matt Reeves, right? What if that's the situation? What if he becomes what Gunn is? I don't think so, but what if? We wouldn't have thought that after Guardians, right?

Even when all that stuff was going down, when he went to go do Suicide Squad, we would have never thought Gunn's going to run DC at one point, right? We don't know people's motivations, whether it's personal, power, ego, or money. We don't know these people. We don't know them. People like to think they do, and that's what bugs me when they talk about it. And I've done it before. 100%, right?

Same way as back in the day. I was in those fucking trenches, right? with the Snyder stuff, but it's like, no, you gotta mature, and once you learn more information, you go, oh, I have no idea. I have no idea. Even if I were to meet James Gunn in person, he'd probably say, the only person that probably knows him once he wants is his fucking wife, and probably his brother, right? But those people that are closest to him, you do not know these people, and you don't know what they're thinking, so same thing, and apparently some people don't know business, so that's the thing where it doesn't matter. Gunn can get extended until they announce that Davis Ellison has signed over his entire rights and all his money to James Gunn,

Gunn is always in danger, right? Now, he won't be, I'd say, if you go a long enough time and it's like Feige, where you build up, that's where after everything, obviously some of it was the chap except, but with a couple misses, that's where you're like, okay, let him do what he does because look over this track record, right?

That's what Gunn has to be building. And that's why they're still in a similar situation. It's early on. We haven't got to the sequels and the Justice Leaks and we don't know. As I've said before, I just go for Man of Tomorrow two things, right? And for me, it's kind of three. I'm very curious how they market it because when he kept saying, well, it's not a Superman sequel and Lex is very much a main character.

Is the audience going to go for that? I go for that. I love the idea of the hero and villain teaming together and Lex being more of a main character. But what if they don't, right? What if they look at it and go, nah, that's not for me. I don't need to see a Lex Luthor main story, right? So... What if that's not for them? And then, but my two bigger points are I've met more people in my real life that have, were very meh on Superman. It's not the way that with the Batman or the things were brand new day, right? Where you meet people that don't talk to you about the stuff and like, oh, I fucking love, like even my mom, like asked my sister, hey, I want to go see Spider-Man because everyone's talking about it.

She didn't even see No Way Home. No Way Home was fucking massive, but she went, oh, I'll go see this, right? That's where for me, it's, I don't know what that return reception is and it doesn't matter all the time, right? Because there's probably, So many people have the exact opposite experience that I have, that they've met everybody. 90% of the people they've met love 2025 Superman, right? So that's just a slice of my life. For me, I've always said the bigger issue is that schedule. And all those movies coming out, something's going to bomb. Now, granted, maybe it's Minecraft 2. Maybe it's something else. There's a chance.

Something will bomb or AK disappoint. It always does. We've seen the summer... Like even little things, like it's still a success, but look at Minions. Last movie was 200 million away from 200, 150 million away from a billion. And now here we are, it's like 500 million. Massive drop, right? Always, I'm not saying it's dead, but there's always something that in the summer box office when those movies are week after week after week after week, something that takes a hit.

And to me, Man of Tomorrow, right in the fucking dead set, right in the bullseye of like, I could see it happening, right? So I don't know that's going to go Don't know how the gun stuff's going to go. I don't think Clayface really matters in the grand scheme of things, right? It'll matter when we talk about the track record and the report card, but I don't think it's going to really matter. Like, I do not think Clayface... Like, if Clayface comes out, and let's say it does really poorly, and if they get rid of Gunn for that, then I'd say, you know what? In that cast where I said the Ellisons are smart, I don't know. Now, to me, it would be like Clayface and After Man Demore if they say, hey, you know, you start off well, but Supergirl...

you kind of tripped up and then clay face, you know what? We see what you're going for, but like people didn't care about that. They want Batman. You kind of fucked up. And now man, it would be a notch on the belt, but not the notch, right? Like clay face, if it's good helps. Cause then you go, okay, the next time that James gun announced a smaller budget movie or a villain movie and it's a hit, then you go, okay, we trust them. Right. Where if clay face falls on its face, no pun intended. Um, And he goes, hey, I want to make the, you know, I want to, even the, I don't know, like, let's take, for example, I don't know what the budget's going to be, but that Deathstroke and Bane movie, right? I think we're

kind of operating on the basis that it might be a smaller budget, like an action buddy-caught villain sort of movie, right? And let's say that's the same thing. Let's say that's $ 40 to $ 60 million. It's a Batman villain movie. So it's very identical as in not being a horror movie, but same ballpark, right? And they might look at that and go, you know what? Like, we see what you're going with with Clayface, but that didn't work. The villain movie without the hero, it's rated R, even though it's lower budget, like, people didn't come out for it, right?

Where with Deadpool, when that worked, obviously a lot of companies wanted to do that. I don't think they really did. I think Marvel and DC still have not struck. That's why I want Clayface to do well, and I support the concept of Clayface. I wish it wasn't Clayface. I wish we'd got him first in a Batman movie, then after.

I felt the same way about the Spider-Man villains, because I feel like when we don't get him in the Batman stuff. So that's a personal taste, but As far as you're talking about the general audience and what they want or might want, that to me is a good gamble. Horror movie, Horror's Heart right now, body horror. You got some combo connections but not too many. And the lower budget.

It was a bigger budget. I think it is a smart move, right? That's how it would happen with Joker, right? It was a lower budget, so less risk. So for me, I can see why that could be a good move. But at the end of the day, I don't think, like, I think, it kind of sounds weird to me, right? But like, if Clayface works, it does more than if it doesn't work. You know what I mean? Like, I feel like if it, which sounds like, people might think I'm fucking crazy, but I feel like if it's a, if you lose, here's a good example. If you are a team with a losing record, you know, in, let's just say football, if you're a team with a losing record, if you lose another game, it's like, well, we lost another game, right? But then if you go and win

a game, and especially if it's against a big team, like, okay, we won game, maybe we can build momentum off that, right? I think a win means more than, obviously a win means more, but I mean like if the, what percentage is more important, the win and the loss? I think the win is more. I think the loss is, it would go, okay, that didn't work, on to the next thing. Again, that could pile up because I still think it's just man up tomorrow. Whatever shows come out, whatever movies, it's man up tomorrow. So again, people, if you see that James Gunn, Safran, get extended for a year, two years, three years, it does not matter. They could extend him And then a week later, be like, fuck, we screwed up.

Let's get rid of them and get someone else in there, right? And they'll pay them off, and that'll be more money, more things added to the debt, but that doesn't mean anything. So I think all these scenarios are in play, but that's where I just, I had to, because now, you know, I think hopefully this will be the last time I talk about it for a while, because what we have, we're in October, greatest month of all time that ever existed.

So October, November, December, January, February, March, April, May, June, July, right? Yes. It's out July, right? Man of tomorrow. 2020, July, right? Come on. July 9th. So, what did I just say? Sorry. October, November, December, January, February, March, April, May, June, July. We still got 10 months. No. Right? I guess I'm counting October. Am I fucking having a brain hazard here? October, November, December, January, February, March, April, May, June, July.

It's crazy. I guess probably because I'm counting October, right? And we're in October. Usually you wouldn't, but I'm counting because we just started it. It's October 2nd. So, we've got 10 months. Lots of things can happen in 10 months, but I just got to focus on making that great. And exactly what Allison said. Keep doing what you're doing.

You know why? Because they want to see if what he's doing is fucking working. Because right now, it's an iffy track record. But I'd say there's more wins than cons, right? And again, Out of all the shit that's going on, why would they flip the switch? So there you go. I think that's everything. I'll talk on Mike's question. But if anyone has any more questions on DC or anything like that, I will go circle back and get there.

So let's see here. So Mike asks, what are my thoughts on American Horror Story Season 13? So I just watched... the three episodes that came out last night. Cause that's what they're doing now. They're doing this weird model where they're American horror story used to be 40 to an hour. Um, for minutes, obviously. And most of the episodes, I think all of them are around half an hour this season.

And they're releasing them batches of three. Um, it worked out cause like all the biggest streaming debut for American horror story. That's great. Um, I think I've talked about this. I loved American Horror Story. I've loved some seasons, but American Horror Story season one, I think is a low key, a very, there's obviously Tales from the Crypt, fucking X-Files.

There's horror shows, right? But I think American Horror Story brought the big boom back. Because for a while, I think it died. Because unless it was procedural, it was how do you make a horror TV show work, right? And then you got stuff like Scream, which maybe didn't really work. But still, you got stuff like Scream where it's like, how does a Scream TV show work? I think the success of American Horror Story really revitalized that franchise of horror on TV, right? And that season one is very special. And then season three, I love. And then the rest of the season's all a mix. I've said this before, and even coming to a point, lots of the seasons always feel, not lots, majority of the seasons feel like it is, we have a great concept,

we write the first episodes and they greenlight it. And then after it's like, what do we do? Now, I don't think that's actually what's happening. But so many of these seasons feel like they're writing on the fly. Like they're just making stuff up. It doesn't gel together the greatest, right? So I have watched all of them. I re-watched a few to get ready for this because people don't know it's like it's endgame season. And they've done this before.

It was season seven or eight where it's American Horror Story Apocalypse. And if people don't know, lots of times they bring back the cast. But it used to be an anthology show where each season is a new story. you know, a new universe, I guess, but then same actors could be playing a new role. But then they kind of start doing some crossovers, then, okay, it's not, it's all one universe, right? And that's where it can get confusing and kind of head-scratching and kind of annoying at times, because you have things like Sarah Paulson in this episode, in episode, I think, four. In one scene, she's playing five characters. I don't necessarily have anything wrong with that, but sometimes it just screams like, hey, we

couldn't get a bunch of actors back for certain roles, whether it's time, budget, or other constraints. It's like, Sarah, you you've been on the show. Like you want to play these five characters, this scene. And that's how it's like, Oh, look at that. Look at that. But it's like, okay. And that's where it's like a lot of the Ryan Murphy horror shtick stuff. I'm kind of over. Right. Because Ivan was watching the Lizzie Borden series and I gave up on it and maybe I'll go back, but I don't think so. Especially in October. There's so much stuff I haven't watched. There's so many new horror movies come out.

I don't think I will go back to it. And for me, it's a situation where it just was like, All these seasons were very similar. And I have no problem with this, but they bring in Lizzie Borden and have this gay love storyline, right? And when you look into it in the past, it was very little murmured. It almost sounded like high school bullies were making these jokes, but not really a big thing. Where it's like, yeah, Jeffrey Dahmer, for sure, right? That was the thing. Even the Menendez brothers, okay, fine, we got there. But then with Gein and this, it always feels like we're hitting the same beats. And American Horror Story now, it feels very similar. That's why I kind of bowed out. I watched every season but the last two. I was not

watching the Kim Kardashian season, and I think there's another season, like New York something. I had fallen off, right? But I thought, okay, that's how you get the biggest premiere, because you get Suckers Like Me back. You're bringing all these actors back. You're bringing all these characters back. But it feels very much like Dexter now. Obviously, I didn't talk about Dexter's trailer, but Dexter is like a kind of a satirical version of itself but it's not meaning to be right it is what people have said that it is Johnny Depp in Pirates 4 and 5 it's a caricature of himself now and that's what American Horror Story is it looks like it and it sounds like it don't get me wrong American Horror Story I fucking

love that theme you know anytime that kicks in I'm like oh I'm ready but I think I'm very much like I'll wait and see if people say some good things in the future but I think I'm taking this as like The the send off to the show and I think Mike that kind of goes into the quality of it where it's not bad like it just feels like it's it's it is just fan fiction come to life right and there's some like fan fiction fan service.

We all like that. There's some fun stuff, but it can't operate that as the whole thing, right? That's where some of the Star Wars sequels got hit on. I'm like, oh, that's all you're doing. That's where for me is this is like, we're doing things where these characters should not be in these situations, in my opinion, where they started.

And now it's one of those things that when you watch the ones before, you go, yeah, this kind of affects it a little bit, impacts a little bit. It does not feel as clean. I'm not invested in it now. And I'll have to do what I do with Dexter, where I go, okay, The show ended in new blood to me. That's where it ended. These other seasons are like what-ifs. These are seasons that Dexter had in his mind.

And now it's the same thing. It's like, oh, this is like fun. Let's say a fan wrote a fanfic online and a bunch of people did a GoFundMe or a Kickstarter and gave them millions or hundreds of thousands of dollars and they filmed and got all the actors back, right? That's what this is. And I think this is where I'm going to take it as my send-off. Because if they're doing this but it was a great season, I go, you know what? That was worth it. And I should have known because I... watched apocalypse didn't have much memory of it and that was the last end game season it's the first time i did a bunch of crossovers and that sucked re-watching it it was not good even the murder house episode i definitely had rose-tinted glasses on

because i remember when i watched the goal the whole season because if people don't know murder house is season one and that's where i care the most about the show and i think that's where it's the best and they have a whole episode dedicated where there's characters going back to that house And when I watched it, I was like, oh, this whole season, eh, but it was worth it for this episode. Really special episode. When I watched it this time, I was like, you know, not as special as I remember. Maybe I was just happy to get back there, right? So, for me now, these characters, it just kind of feels like I'm not happy to get back there. I'm seeing things like, okay, yeah, you're here, and you're doing this, and these characters are interacting, and

I'm like, oh, this should be fun, but it's not. And sometimes, again, the gimmick of people interacting with themselves, like, hey, I'm kind of over this, and, yeah, it's just, like, there's fun stuff, like, okay, there's this, like, group of all these serial killers that have been pulled out that have died, now they're, like, a team, I can't remember what they call themselves, but it's, like, okay, it's, like, the, oh, it's, like, Dahmer, and it's the Zodiac, and it's the fucking, who's that guy they had him in the murder camp or whatever but he's like they did a Netflix doc too he's a really messed up guy like he's all he's like all about hail Satan I know a lot of them are like that but still like okay this is kind

of fun okay cool and okay these witches are doing this they're trying to find this out to bring this character and that's the other thing too this has happened a few times But now especially, because I had seen this before, I watched it, and it was like major American horror story, character dies off. Is that it for this actor or whatever? I'm like, no. No. Because there's so many characters. There's a character in this season two that they killed in season three and they didn't bring back.

There's multiple times they could have brought them back in other seasons. And I thought, okay, they're not doing it. They want to stand by and go, no, we're actually going to stand by this death. We don't want to do it. What the fuck are they doing in this episode? Well, we got to get Fiona back. Oh, okay. All right, cool.

So it's very, when they said it's Endgame, it's that. It is, you have variants. Deaths don't matter and mean as much because people can just come back whenever they want, right? It doesn't really matter. So that's where I'm watching it for fun, but I think I'm done after this. And yeah, it's, Mike was saying he hates like the 13 lore. Well, you get a lot on these episodes. So Mike, sorry about that. It's like a mix of like, the omen in Nosferatu, in a sense, like he's taking, this main guy's taking, pretty much this main guy's taking care of what we think is the devil, and the devil's like doing a bunch of magic, and he's getting the worst of the worst all together, and obviously in this season

of American Horror Story, you meet a lot of monstrous people, right? So, and then he's also damning some of the people, it's a very convoluted, but not convoluted issue at the same time, but yeah, it's like Nosferatu, where he's taking care of this very old, decrepit man, but he's actually the devil and there's weird stuff going on. Very, it does kind of feel like two situations. It feels like hydrogen bomb versus coughing baby. It felt like some watch eggers. No, it's fraud. It's like, I want to do that. It's not working. And then the other situation like that, baby versus bomb and people that watch them both. And I wanted to message you in the discord, April and Mike, if you're listening to this, but I thought I don't

want to spoil it. But if you're listening now, you'll be spoiled, but hopefully you watched it. They have Dahmer in the season. But he's played by Seth Gable, who I like Seth Gable from a lot of other stuff, Dirty Sexy Money. But he's playing Dahmer against Evan Peters. Evan Peters is playing an American Horror Story hotel. They gave him a Vincent Price sort of character. He's like, oh, you see? The delights and horror of this hotel will scare you dry. He's doing that sort of gimmick, right?

And it's fun. He has a good time with it. He's a serial killer. Cool. Um... There's a scene where he's collecting serial killers to make this little serial killer gang, right? And he gets Seth Gable, who, like, I like Seth Gable as an actor, but I don't think he's, like, an auteur or anything. He's not, like, an all-timer. And he's definitely not on the wavelength of Evan Peters. And he's playing Dahmer against Peters, who arguably did the best version of that, and I think that's one of Ryan Murphy's best things ever. I think that's a top Netflix series, and he's incredible in that. And the way So you're playing him against the best of the best. So that's already weird. And then you have Seth Gable, who's like

barely being dumb. Like he didn't even feel like he has like a little like, like mannerisms, but very like this percentages are so small. And it's just like that for me was kind of agreed. I know it sounds weird. Cause monsters, a different show and it's a different, like that's supposed to be a realistic thing. And this is the, you know, kind of fun campy horror thing. But seeing this as like, I don't like it. And I'm not saying that Peter should have played Dahmer. Maybe we just don't have them in the same scene together. It was weird seeing Peter play against someone playing Dahmer. And it was so far below. And that's where it feels like a fan service thing. Where it just feels like, oh, we got some people that really like American Horror Story.

And they got some of the actors. So, I don't know. I will see it through. It's a fun watch. It's not that long. It's like, you know, what, an hour? It's a full hour when you watch it. I think it's going to end sometime in October, like this month. So yeah, I'll watch it. I'll take this as like my send off, but I'm kind of like striking out with Ryan Murphy because before it was like love, love stuff.

And then it was hit or miss. And now it's very kind of man or miss like Lizzie Borden and Ed Gein, big miss to me. What I'd seen from American horror story as of late was me. And now this, so yeah. And I'm not going to glee. I was not a glee guy. So I, I think I'm going to be closing the book on and, I thought there was another series, but I think I'm going to be closing the book on Ryan Murphy for a little bit because I know, oh, I think it's The Shards too.

I didn't watch that. I'm not giving this a chance, you know, so we'll see. But there you go, ladies and gentlemen. That is it for this episode. Like I said, there will be a Digger review at some point. I want to today. See how my work goes. And then after that, yeah, I'll be back at some point next week because we'll be working with next week. Let's see.

I think you can at least pencil me, I'll probably be, I think Wednesday might be a good time for at least one episode, I think. Because the week after, I've got to binge watch Friday the 13th. So let's tentatively say Travis told you on the Wednesday. Let's tentatively say that. I do want to do one cast this October of my top ten horror movies. Because I keep going, I rewatched Obsession, and I said this when Obsession came out.

I'm like, oh, is this my top ten? Favorites, not best, but my favorites. I was like, I need to do that. I need to do these sub-genres of comedy, romance, because there's been so many movies, and I feel like I had solidified the list before, and now I don't. So I'm definitely going to do that, and I'll definitely ask you guys for your top tens. Patrons, definitely send those in.

I'll read them out, and I'd love to hear them. But yeah, I think I'll be doing that at some point, maybe the week of Halloween. So there you go, ladies and gentlemen. I hope you have a great weekend. I promise to hear from you next. It'll not be boring. Love you all.
