Hi, I'm Nadia.

And I'm Tom, and this is Medical Voices, the podcast where you learn medical English by listening to real conversations.

Every Tuesday, we take you inside a consultation, a GP appointment, a hospital ward, a pharmacy counter. You hear the whole conversation, and then we break down the English that clinicians actually use.

And now we're adding a second episode every week, on Fridays.

One Friday, it's everyday consultations. Short, everyday situations at B1 level, like booking an appointment by phone.

Good morning, Elmwood Surgery. How can I help?

Hi, I'd like to book an appointment, please. Is there anything this week?

We teach both sides, what the receptionist or the doctor says and how you answer. Useful for nurses and doctors and for anyone who's ever sat in a waiting room. So all of us. The next Friday it's Nadia and Tom talk, just the two of us, chatting about the English nobody teaches you.

Like how to sound polite, not rude, with patients. Or why you go to the chemist in London, but the drugstore in New York.

And once a month on a Sunday, we put several conversations together into a long, listening marathon. No lessons, no quizzes, just press play and listen.

Free transcripts are on medicalvoices.health. And just so you know, everything here is for language learning, not medical advice.

New episodes every Tuesday and Friday. Follow Medical Voices so you don't miss one.

See you on Tuesday.

And on Friday.
