Medical Voices is a free medical English podcast: learn the English of healthcare through realistic doctor–patient conversations. For English learners at B1–C1, and especially for nurses and doctors who work in English or are preparing for IELTS or OET.
Four ways to listen:
🩺 Medical English Lessons (every Tuesday, B2–C1): clinical English for nurses and doctors. 10 key terms, a full consultation at natural speed and then slowly, a language breakdown and a quick quiz.
💬 Everyday Consultations (every other Friday, B1): short scenes at the doctor’s, the pharmacy and the dentist, heard from both sides: what the clinician says and how the patient answers.
🎙 Nadia & Tom Talk (every other Friday, B1–B2): relaxed conversations about healthcare and life in English, with useful phrases explained along the way.
🎧 Listening Marathons (monthly): our best consultations back to back, for long listening practice.
Scenes are set in GP surgeries, pharmacies, hospital wards and emergency departments, with notes on UK, US, Australian and Canadian usage. Every episode has a free PDF transcript with the vocabulary.
We call our community the Med Nomads: everyone who has crossed a border and had to find the words for health in a new language. The nurse rebuilding her career in a new country. The international doctor finding their voice on a foreign ward. The parent in a waiting room abroad, explaining that their child’s fever started last night. We make the language of medicine learnable, dignified and free, so no one feels like a stranger in the place they came to heal, or to be healed.
Hosted by Nadia and Tom. They’re characters voiced with AI voice technology; every script is written and checked by a human producer.
