Welcome to NFL Daily, where we're in France.

I'm Greg Rosenthal here with my friend Jordan Rodry. To be specific, we're in Versailles right now. Took a car to watch the Saints practice from Paris. They are practicing in Versailles. We are taping the start of this show, Jordan. At the end of practice, and after we talked to four Saints players, Tyler Shuck on the show for the first time, Juwan Johnson, Cam Jordan. Chase Young, you will hear those interviews a little later in the show. But first thoughts from 24 hours in France so far.

This is wild.

It's so crazy. I can't believe we're here. Very appreciative. We just keep walking around in Paris and turning the corner and seeing down the street. Oh, it's the Eiffel Tower.

All right.

That's here in real life. And The Arc de Triomphe, you know, it's just really cool. Haven't had a bad bite of food yet. Haven't had a bad coffee. It's amazing.

Yeah, we've been here about 24 hours. So we are no experts.

17 coffees.

Getting a lot of, oh, is it okay?

I don't know.

We just walked around.

My brother is living there now for about 30 minutes, more than that, an hour yesterday. And it's a beautiful place and everyone's having a lot of fun. And so are we right now in Paris.

Okay.

Let's talk about what we saw yesterday.

At Saints practice today, but more specifically about this game. We're not going to have a time in the rest of the week, really, to to preview the game. So I thought, you know, just some things maybe we are watching for Steelers Saints. When when this first was on the schedule, like we didn't know where these two teams were going to be a little unpredictable that the Saints are the team right now that might need a win in this game or else changes could be coming to their organization. Whereas the Steelers, I think, are like sneaky dangerous moving forward.

Yeah, the stakes feel higher than I think we expected them to for the Saints right now. I also think this is, to coin a Gregism, a sneaky fun matchup because a couple of the things that both of these defenses do do well is the quarterbacks are pretty effective or in Tyler Shuck's case, getting more effective against them.

And both of these quarterbacks can make something happen. Like we all know about Aaron Rodgers. I think he's playing good football right now. He has been for most of this year and, but Tyler Shuck using his legs, especially last week to create explosive plays. You know, he talked to us about, you know, taking those when they, when they're available to him, creating explosives through the passing game.

against a Steelers defense that is going to throw everything it's got at him.

Yeah, I am worried about Tyler Shuck and the offensive line in this game because watching that Giants tape and really the last few weeks, I don't even think the offensive line played any better for him. He tried to give them some credit, and you'll hear that. I think it was more Tyler Shuck identifying where the blitz is coming from, where the hots are, and maybe feeling a little more comfortable with an injury that was reported. by Fox over the weekend that he's been playing with some broken bones in his non-throwing hand. And I don't feel any different about him right now than I did going into the season. Like, I just think it's a difficult situation around him. And then you think about the matchup.

TJ Watt is not what he once was. I do think he is a little more name than game right now in terms of one-on-one matchups. But everyone is kind of taking advantage of the Sim Richards matchup. So that's the left tackle of the Saints. So that's something to watch for. Nick Herbig is the pass rusher to watch.

They've been using him as an off-ball guy, but he really got after it this week. And they're very creative with what they're doing with their guys up front. And I do think it could be a high degree of difficulty game for Tyler Shuck when he won't have Jordan Tyson back. We did learn from Mickey Loomis at his press conference this week that Jordan Tyson will not be on the field for this game.

And some of the things that I think Steelers defensive coordinator Patrick Graham is going to do is what he's been doing for most of his tenure so far in Pittsburgh, which is move his defensive backs around and get them involved in the pass rush at times and against Tyler Shuck, who talked to us today about how much better he's getting against the Blitz. And to your point, Greg, but also is still a young quarterback. I mean, we feel like he's been around forever at this point, but he is still seeing new things and learning new things every week.

So I think Patrick Graham is really going to try to test him. Deshaun Elliott should be back this week, the safety. So to me, I think that also lends more flexibility in the defensive backfield where they have been playing a little bit shorthanded and, you know, Jamel Dean coming off a big game last week, you know, there's, this is an opportunistic defense, whether it's upfront or in the secondary, they like to make splash plays. They like to tell you all about it on the sideline and their defensive coordinator. It's just one of those games where I just think that we're going to see big plays on both sides of the ball.

And I know there's going to be some listeners. Why are we spending so much time on St.

Steelers?

We are in freaking Paris, guys.

We're here.

And I do love the opportunity to kind of zero in on a couple of teams at a particular point in the season. And so I went back and watched the coaches film for them in the last few weeks. And one thing that really stood out, if you're a total geek in this game, is watch Zach Frazier. I think Zach Frazier, the center for the Steelers, has gone to another level. He has done some things this season, unspeakable things to Mason Graham, a great matchup with Dexter Lawrence and what he is doing right now.

Like I'll mention it again.

I've got that all pro vote and like maybe the best young center in the league right now in a very young offensive line that works well together and is very athletic. So in this game, especially you're going up against a saints defense that last right now against the run, according to DVOA. And you have Maxi Hanachor, you have Fautanu, and you have Jalen Warren. They're coming off a relatively quiet game, but they got Rico Dattel back into the mix.

And I have a feeling like that's going to be a difficult matchup. And probably if I could talk about one mismatch in this entire game, that would be it. And everything that the Steelers front is doing.

People.

I know Rodgers hasn't been like consistently good this season, but I do think the Steelers team has a little more ceiling than people realize. Yeah.

Well, when I see him creating plays a little bit more, he did it a couple of weeks ago against Indianapolis. Like to me, that's him feeling good. You know, you mentioned Zach Frazier.

I think almost, almost too good though. He just wants to throw trick shots. Like even when he doesn't need to, he is having fun out there. Like if the old cliche is like, Oh, he's just a kid having fun out there. Rodgers is just trying stuff just to try it. And I'm sure he drives the coaches a little crazy, but his arm looks incredible. Like he is like doing like fadeaways when he absolutely doesn't need to like across the field. I'm just impressed is all I have to say in terms of how it's held up. Yeah.

And what I was going to say is that when you have a quarterback like him playing with a relatively young center, the quarterback is going to tell the centers and things the quarterback is going to teach. those two are very much a symbiotic relationship and they, they go as one and they grow like, and he's always liked his centers to have that quality for, for me, knowing Jalen Warren can really get explosive in the run and the past game, the saints defense, you know, we love how chase young is playing right now. We always appreciate, uh, even on his down years, Justin Reed, I know saints fans are a little iffy with him right now, but we, we, they like to stay in structure and they like to stay in their rules and be disciplined. And the Steelers are,

like you mentioned, trying stuff. They look a little bit more creative recently than I think we expected when we saw them at the start of the year. And some of the catch and run stuff, some of the out of structure things, not just from Rogers, but also after the catch from Jalen Warren, I think are very, very dangerous.

I have to be careful about what I say around here. Like this is the same, practice facility.

So I don't want to be dogging their players while they are necessarily walking by. But I will be curious, like Martin Emerson came in. This is a deep cut, but Martin Emerson came in for them last week and easily had the best game any defensive back has had for them all season long. It was kind of a soft benching for Kool-Aid McKinistry where maybe they were blaming it on the cleats. I don't know what was going on, but he came in and was incredible and gave them some juice that they absolutely needed. That's something to watch.

I also think watch Jeremy Bernard. for the Steelers is a rookie that Aaron Rodgers absolutely trusts and can do a little bit of everything really well. And when I saw like the deceleration and his ability to just go from full speed to stopping in a second, it reminded me a little of Chris Olavi, not saying he's going to be Chris Olavi, doesn't have that juice, but a little more juice than I expected. I kind of look at him as the 1A and DK Metcalf right now is coming off his best game of the year as the 1B.

And this team has MVS now on the practice squad and actually beat reporters in Pittsburgh are saying he might get elevated for this game.

So that's another thing to watch out for. And then big picture wise, it's an important game for Kellen Moore. I think got a little bit of a stay of execution, not to, you know, think all Marie Antoinette, but we were In the location of her beheading yesterday, were you aware of that? Neither one of us knew at the time.

Like the rough location. Can you pronounce the.

Place where you were?

Toulouse. Toulouse.

I mean, you took French.

A long time ago.

I mean, high school. That's something.

A long time ago.

We were there.

We walked there. That's where the Louvre is. And I was unaware.

That's where they put our podcast, actually.

That was the historic importance of that location, among many other things. I'm not saying that. Gail Benson would go theatrical, like literally chop his head off. But a couple coaches have lost their job after coming overseas and i think the the feeling was like if last week hadn't gone well and then this week especially is a big spot last week they did get a win but the way that win ended from what i've heard is In the locker room, it almost felt a little bit like a loss because it's pretty rare to nearly blow a 24-point lead in a matter of 10 minutes. So I don't think that necessarily got them off the hook. So it's just something I'm watching for in this game. I think the stakes are really high. This is an important game.

The Saints have been in a couple big spots this year where they've come up short in front of Gale Benson. And this is something where they got the marketing rights. And this is something I think they would love to do year after year. There might be a Paris game next year that they would want to be involved with.

So I just think it's, it's important for Kellen. Yeah.

It was a real hinge moment last week because Tyler Shuck in this offense, they rattle off, you know, 24 points and break the game wide open. And all of a sudden JJ McCarthy comes in and not only did that sort of stun the saints in a very real and high stakes way coming into this week, even though they won, it also got JJ McCarthy a job again.

So big time, sneaking a little bit of news in here, big.

Time, couple of quarters there for a couple of teams.

Although we kind of assumed it. John Ledyard on our show just referred to him as the starting quarterback.

You poo-pooed that idea that J.J. McCarthy was going to start. And I'm just saying, you know, some people predicted that.

It's the Rosenthal rule, as Bill Barnwell coined it.

When the coach does not commit to your quarterback on a Monday, he's making a change on a Tuesday.

So yes, it is J.J. McCarthy.

It is the Saints. It is the Steelers here in Paris. What we're going to do We're going to take a break. And when we come back on the other side of the break, you are going to hear our interviews with four Saints, including one of my favorite quarterbacks to watch. I think the best chance the Saints have to win this game is just Tyler Shuck balling out. This is not an even matchup. I know Rodgers is going to make the Hall of Fame someday. Like Tyler Shuck is a better quarterback right now than Aaron Rodgers is, and he could carry his team.

You'll hear from him.

You'll hear from his tight end, Juwan Johnson, and then a couple– of pass rushers Cam Jordan and Chase Young. Jordan and I will say goodbye to you on the other side.

All right.

We are here with Tyler Shuck, the quarterback of the new Orleans saints, uh, out here in Paris. Tyler, uh, just learned you, you share a hometown with my cohost, Gordon Rodriguez, Arizona.

Like, yeah.

Who do you think is more beloved back in champ? I don't know.

She's got some, some fans back there.

Definitely this guy right here. We're so happy that you joined us today. Thank you so much for joining NFL daily.

Chris Olave, uh, you've thrown to a lot of different wide receivers over the years since you came into the lineup, especially late last year, you know, you helped them get to a second team all pro. He is second right now in the NFL in receiving. What about him is maybe different than other receivers you have thrown to over the years?

Man, he's a, he's special because one, he's the same dude every single day. I mean, he puts in the work, you know, more than anybody I've ever seen. And then he's got that next level speed. I mean, he can change any direction, but he keeps that same, same speed for three speed the whole time. So, It makes my job a lot easier, and I got to keep finding ways to give him the ball.

We've seen you get into a great rhythm with him in the passing game. Recently, we also saw you break off a couple of bigger runs. We know you can create, but the longer, more explosive runs to especially galvanize the team a little bit and give you guys a little bit of a spark in that rally that you went on last week. Is that something you want to do more of moving forward? Is that something you're trying to explore when it feels right for you to do?

I think you're never hunting those plays. You never want to go hunt those big plays, trying to make whether that's a deep shot or whether that's with your legs, because that's when bad things happen. But when they present itself, man, I'm going to take advantage of it and do everything I can to score a touchdown, get a first down or get down.

So, I mean, that's our mindset.

You know, we want to play aggressive.

We want to play hungry.

So.

Anything I can do that way. And I think more than anything, it kind of reflects our mindset as a team.

Saints fans want more of it. You know, I, they, they love it when you, when you scramble, I have too many Saints fans in my life. I went, I went to school at Tulane, so I keep up with it, but they, they love it when Tyler shows off his athleticism is something that you've shown this year. I thought maybe going into that Giants game was blitz recognition. Like they've, sent a lot of pressure at you, the opposing defenses that you've seen this year. Is that something that you have worked on and felt like a difference about during this season?

Yeah, I think, you know, year two in the same offense obviously helps with a lot of the communication. And, and this year, I mean, it's kind of been a trend. There's a lot of cover zeros. There's a lot of different pressures and we're getting a lot of it. And we've, we've had some, some really good pickups. We've had some breakdowns that we've got to work on. So it's, it's ever evolving. I think our line has done an incredible job, especially last game had zero sacks and I think we're going to continue to get better every single week, and that's our goal.

You're getting so much great experience right now, and every time you see a new type of blitz or a new combination, it's going to be an awesome bit of data for you. But can you feel sometimes when these DCs are testing you, knowing that you are still a young player?

Yeah, I mean, I want to be tested. I want to do everything I can to continue to keep learning and growing. You're seeing these hard looks, and it's all great. I feel like we've done a good job. this far and, you know, we can continue to get better. It's still not good enough, you know, reflecting on what we can learn from.

But man, it's the NFL.

You're going to get tested every single week and we got to be ready to handle it.

I mentioned kind of the Insane Saints fans and just how much they.

In a good way.

We love you. In the best way. Like how much they love this team. And I definitely noticed like in your first kind of offseason as the starting quarterback, like how you were not just hitting the tourist traps. Like you are a real New Orleans... local guy like what has it been like becoming like a new orleans.

Guy i mean one thing about new orleans people is is they're authentic and they're real and and you don't have to be from there but you have to understand what the city is about what the culture is about and and and that's the best part about being a part of the team and and when we have new people come is just embrace it and you can be from anywhere but if you love new orleans it's going to love you back and um one that comes with my on field play and i got to continue to continue to get better there but also just being yourself so That's why I love it, and we want to spend as much time as we can.

Kind of related to that, a friend of mine in the media, Mina Kimes, kind of dubbed your fan base the Shuck Boys. Do you approve of this?

I don't know.

I've never heard that one before. I like it, but, man, we got a lot of different Houdat Nation names.

I like it. There's some funny New.

Orleans names, too. A little risque, like you spelled the boys B-O-I, I think.

A little bit. Okay, I like that.

I like that.

The double C. Thinking about this week's game, we talked about blitz recognition. What about the challenge? um, everything that Pittsburgh has been showing this year, new defensive coordinator and all the pass rushers.

I mean, what, I mean, their, their tape stands out just personnel wise, all over the field. They got, um, playmakers, their veteran guys are really smart. Um, just, we gotta be ready for everything, man. They're really well coached and, um, I know they're going to put together a really good plan. So we gotta be prepared. We gotta be prepared, um, and give our play style.

Looking forward to it. Uh, but you never thought, you know, he'd be, In Paris, we drove by the stadium and there's a huge banner.

Yeah, you're on the stadium.

It says Tyler Shuck, about 30 feet big. So keep an eye on it on the way to the stadium.

French fans are probably like, who the heck's that?

I know Aaron Rodgers.

I don't know.

Show, show, show.

It is absolutely awesome. Yes, it is you. It is Aaron Rodgers. We can't wait to see you.

Play on Sunday.

I appreciate it. I'm excited for the game and excited to play football in France.

Thanks, Adam. Here with Juwan Johnson, who our co-host Nick Shook is trying to get the nickname for you to catch on, America's Tight End. Oh, wow. But I don't know if it's going to fit because you are wearing.

A France shirt right now. I think people in America like visiting France. You know, they like the croissants. You know, they like the France.

Long history between the two countries.

You know, Lady Liberty.

Look, we have the same color flag. So I do think everybody should relax a little bit. I think it's okay.

Well, I've been having so much fun, especially, you know, a couple weeks ago, watching how involved you've been in this offense, multiple touchdowns. That was a big day for you guys as a tight end unit in general. What was that like? And then looking around the league that week, it was quite the day for tight ends in general record setting day.

Wow.

I think it was so exciting. I think it just speaks to the testament of the tight ends and the evolution of the position. I just felt like, you know, that started from, You know, guys like Kelsey, you know, and guys like Kittle, those guys have completely evolved the position and they paved the way for guys like me and guys like Noah and guys like Brock and guys like Mike Mayer that came in that day and had like four touchdowns. Not four, I think it was six or something like that. There was a lot of touchdowns that day. So I'm like, man, like, is anybody covering the tight ends of this?

Um, yeah.

So, you know, guys like Michael marriage is coming in and doing stuff like that. I think it was, I think it was awesome for, for that week and, you know, just the evolution of the position.

Yeah.

I saw the email, all the defensive coordinators in the league mutually agreed to not cover tight ends that day. Breaking news here.

We can do that every week. I mean, I would greatly appreciate that.

One thing I love, though, we saw out of practice today, you know, and I know you do this every day, but working in line, some of the combination blocks with the offensive linemen. I know you like that part of it, too. And you guys really want to continue a little momentum running the ball better and blocking up front in that way.

What has that been like for you that work in progress this year?

Yeah, I think it's actually been great. It's actually been great for myself.

I think just having intention of blocking is something that I'm trying to have more focus on. Obviously, coming from the receiver position, just still learning the nuances of blocking, learning the nuances of the combination between tackles and the offensive line. So it's honestly, it's intriguing to me. I'm just knowing new things and I'm still learning. So just having coaches is teaching me techniques and teaching me where to have my hands and stuff. I think it's the best thing that I can learn and just having guys like Tali and, you know, awesome to help me out.

It means everything to me.

Also intriguing, I would imagine, is a week in France in the middle of an NFL regular season. You're a bit of a content creator, you know, in your spare time.

I agree.

Are you getting after it?

I agree.

What's happening?

I myself, I'm taking a lot of pictures right now. My wife is.

obviously the one that is in the forefront of that i am i am her uh robin to the batman okay so she sees the show and i'm kind of in the background like oh yeah and i'm here too and i'm her husband.

But anything special this week you got.

Planned what you're doing yeah you know what we do we go out to dinner um we have certain dinners here and there just something romantic i think this is a romantic uh you know city so you know just being around here and you know going to paris and being in versailles i think it's it's honestly um a blessing and I do thank the Saints and Ms. Benson for setting us up in a beautiful hotel and having us to enjoy that.

Must be nice. My wife's stuck back in LA and I'm stuck here with Jordan.

Greg's not really an Instagram husband, though. He's doing okay.

He was saying he's stuck with you guys if it's a bad thing.

I'm delightful, okay?

She's a great dinner hang. Always a great hang. Appreciate you, Juwan.

We are here with.

Cam Jordan, who at this point is somewhat of a regular on NFL Daily. Friend of the show. The first time overseas.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. First time in France.

What's it been like?

You picking up the language at all?

Not at all.

Yeah?

No.

I heard you throw a bonjour out there earlier.

Indeed. Bonjour.

Bonjour.

That's, yeah, I got a mon ami. That's about it.

That's about it.

Things I picked up in New Orleans.

Do you have any... plans this week do they let you out a little bit in the city okay monday and tuesday and it's time.

To lock in uh my family got in today so i'm sure my wife is enjoying whatever the french are.

Doing oh i love that for her yeah.

She's like hey you coming out actually i've got a job to do but you know any other time i'm more than willing no you're probably i'll probably take him out to dinner tonight and then i'll be.

In She's probably living her best life in France. There's so much to do and see.

I'm sure. Shopping. We've been before.

We took the kids to Disneyland Paris. Oh, cool. So wife bought the daughter. They'll probably go back to Disneyland Paris, somewhere in here. I'm sure they'll go to Louvre and everything that's awesome out here.

Champs-Élysées. I still can't say the street name right, but what's it called?

I don't even try. I am looking forward to this matchup on Sunday, and especially up front. It's going up against some young... promising tackles of the Steelers, Fatanu, Ihanachor. What do you expect from your kind of one-on-one matchups for these? Yeah, it's a tricky one. I had to get it wrong a few times to get it right.

His first name is like Max.

Max Ihanachor.

That's what I relied on.

Yeah, like what do you see when you're looking at these young guys and think about for your matchup and your team's matchup up front?

Yeah, right tackle is a second year player, left tackle, I guess you invert it, I guess the way I look at it.

Yeah, Max is a first-year player. I think they're strong.

Anytime you have a Hall of Fame quarterback, that makes the entire O-line better anyways. So I love when we talk about offensive line, but I'm like, because Aaron Rodgers is back there. They're going to be just fine regardless. You could put literal cones in front of him, and he's still going to be a Hall of Fame quarterback.

So you see the throws he makes. You see the way he speeds up his timing, the way he commands his offense. I mean, you saw what was it, two games ago when him and his OC were sort of getting into it.

He's like, let me run it. And he ran it. And there's a reason why he's a Hall of Famer.

Another Cal guy. Cerebral. Going to get after him?

Absolutely.

Yeah.

The plan is, you know, you got guys like Chase Young and Carl Granderson. You talk about, you know, Brodden as well as Godchow. I think we've got a formidable front.

You know, this is all within reason and with the caveat that he is, you know, in his 40s at this point. But... They said.

LeBron's in his 40s, too. He says out here he's dropping buckets.

No, but I mean, last couple games, he's moving better. Like, you see him picking up a couple first downs with his legs a couple weeks ago.

I mean.

Do you think he's faster somehow this year?

No, nobody's ever been like me. He's a burner.

But Aaron Rodgers is definitely elusive as well as, you know, he's always been quick. So you pair that up with his IQ for the game, and that's what makes him scary as well as a Hall of Famer. He's always had a tremendous arm talent and the ability to just put ball placement. So it's going to be up to the entire defense to try and put a hold on him.

Is there a thought, you know, this is a game with everyone watching back in the States. Obviously, it's the first game. Here in Paris, a game that your owner, Gail Benson, was pushing for a long time. And she was just like vocal publicly that like this is a big moment for the Saints to show out in Paris.

Any extra like. Does that give you a little extra juice this week that everyone's.

Going to be watching? We're focused.

We got a win this last week and realized it still wasn't as clean a win as we wanted, so we've been focused on cleaning up our details so we can be the best version of us and put forward our best foot.

Talk about Sunday, any given.

Sunday, we know they're coming through and they've got their own priorities and we've got ours.

We've got to come out with the win somehow, some way.

Well, the Saints have the advantage. They have been here all week, so you got the fun stuff out of the way early. They're going to be behind.

Come on.

They've got Aaron Rodgers and Cam Hayward. Cam Hayward doesn't like fun. TJ Watt, have you? You've never seen them in the offseason?

I've never seen TJ Watt smile, matter of fact.

That's what I'm saying. They're not built for having fun, so they'll be just fine.

You can fly them in Saturday. Cam's going to sleep the whole time anyways. And, you know, does he practice anymore? That's fair.

Low on the list of like guys that I personally probably would want to go out with TJ Y and Aaron Rodgers. I don't know. They wouldn't want to go out.

I probably want to go out with Aaron Rodgers. I feel like you can learn a lot of conspiracy theories.

And with that, we appreciate Cam Jordan. Thank you. We are here with Chase Young, edge rusher for the new Orleans. Saints.

Greg, how tall do you feel right now?

I always feel seven feet tall. You know, I just, I try not to look at other people's height and worry about it. But yes, a large man who uses that height to bat down a lot of passes. We saw that in practice today. I saw it last week against the Giants. I saw it the week before. Like, a lot of shot blocking it feels like this season for Chase Young.

Yeah.

You know, that's one thing that our coaches reminds us that we need. Certain situations of the game, third and three, third and four. might be a quick pass.

Because your hands are up.

Well, I mean, that's a lot of tape and recognition and reacting very quickly, right? So can you kind of take us through your process of creating those splash plays like that and triggering when you know is the right time?

Yeah, I mean, it's honestly sometimes what the offense gives me, like against the Giants. I knew something was weird because the tackle, he kind of sat and started running out. So I knew it was a screen. So I knew it was going to be behind me, not knowing where. But Just being aware that the screen is happening puts you in position to think, oh, put your hands up, hit the ball.

Do you ever see, like, their body language change when you do that? Because it's like, man, they got found out right in that moment.

This one, I did it against Atlanta. Pennix was... I think he was surprised that I jumped so high. He was like, I didn't expect you to get that.

It honestly feels a little unfair. You're a foot taller and just imagining you like jumping two feet. It's not nice. So we did a ranking. You, you would not have known this, but we did a ranking of edge rushers this off season. And it was fun to go back into the tape and you ended up bringing very high, like, top 20, top 25 edge rusher in the NFL. When, when we looked at it and we realized like last season, you were so efficient and it felt like you were playing the best ball of your career with new Orleans, just the explosion off the line. What was next level?

Is there something that happened at this stage of your career with the saints that changed? Like, what do you think it is that has led to you really peaking now with the saints?

Yeah, I think it's, I guess I'm going to do with, uh, unlocking the code, your body code, right? Knowing what you lack, knowing what you have to stay on. I feel like if anybody can, I mean, it helps when you are injured, right? Because now everything is trial and error, right? I'm trying this, I'm doing this, I'm doing, okay, let me see if this works. I'm going to do this today, I'm going to see if this works. I did this, ooh, I feel way better. You know, so just years of trial and error and I feel like I unlocked the code of my body.

Mm-hmm.

So what happens next, right? Because you're clearly feeling so good and you're playing at such a high level. Now you're in that mode where you know you want to sustain and certainly as you reach, you know, like the apex of your career. So what does that look like for you? And how do you kind of check back in with yourself in that way?

Yeah, you know, I love ball.

And I think the best times when you're most confident on the field is when Feeling good. You know, I worried about my toe hurt, you know, where my knee sore, my arm. You're fresh and, you know, we're not fresh, but when you're healthy out there and knowing every step is a solid, firm step.

You know, I know what I'm capable of and when I'm confident, I know what I can do.

Last question for you. You know, you're playing here. in Paris. You're facing an all-time quarterback in Aaron Rodgers who took five sacks last week. Like, what would it mean to you to get, you have something special planned if you can get him on Sunday?

Oh, no, nothing special. Nothing special.

I'm going to talk a little bit to Aaron though. He's that type of quarterback. He probably might say something to me first if I hit him.

Mm-hmm.

Um, but he's always, uh, he's one of the funnest quarterbacks to play because, uh, he, uh, he'll talk a little smack to you throughout the game.

Keep it going. Yeah.

To follow up, I've heard he makes like little dry comments.

He does.

Yeah.

Even on his, his cadence, he might like look at you or wink at you or, you know.

You make a good play though, he'll tap.

You on the butt, you know.

He's moving well this year, but maybe not as well as he did like 10 years ago.

I mean, we just saw his wingspan here.

10 years ago, he was fast. I think he was very underestimated speed-wise 10 years ago.

Absolutely. Look, if you get that sack, think of us. Think of this interview. NFL Daily. Good luck to you on Sunday.

Thank you.

Okay, we are back. Jordan and I talking Saints, talking football in France. Do you think we are going to be the change that the NFL wants? And really like the brush fire, which kicks off the NFL going crazy in this country because of the two of us.

Undoubtedly. I mean, have you seen your cardigan that you're wearing?

I did try to break out some new clothes for France.

Why not? It's like Mr. Rogers chic.

It's Steelers colors too, a little bit.

A little advertising.

Yeah.

I'll save my pick for our pick show on Friday. We will be picking this game. We are going to make Jordan Rodriguez. pick games against the spread. She keeps promising. She doesn't understand how the spread works. It's very simple.

Just want to be clear. This has been assigned to me by Greg and Eric, who are now on my list.

Funny.

Because Nick Shook's not here. Let's make someone that got a nice trip out here. We're going to work as hard as possible. You know what else we're going to do? We hope to interview the commissioner, Roger Goodell, for the first time on NFL Daily. And what's even going to be more difficult, we are hoping... to get Colleen Wolf on Friday.

Ooh, whose schedule is more crowded right now, do we think? Probably Colleen's.

Colleen's definitely flakier, so that's the one that you're not sure what's going to happen.

Any takeaways from talking to the Saints before we get out of here?

It was fun.

I appreciated Chase Young taking us through how he prepares to jump those screen passes. Like, that's just cool. I just love that kind of dork stuff like that. And Tyler Shuck and I are, yes, we are from the same hometown.

Tyler Shuck is a man that I'm getting too old to have parasocial relationships with these athletes or really anyone that you don't actually know.

But I feel like I know enough. Tyler Shuck is cool. We could be friends.

Yeah, Greg is a Shuck boy.

I'm a Shuck boy.

I'm a big fan. I'm looking forward to this game. Keep an eye on Jalen Ramsey in this game. I did want to say that was... someone that popped about as much as anyone this year, they are using Jalen Ramsey to his full extent. Uh, he is playing over 60% of his snaps at linebacker. He's essentially a linebacker right now. Uh, he's looking good. And, I do think the saints running game got a little something going last week. Caesar Ruiz went down and they started running the ball as well as they did. I think Kellen Moore wants to stick with that. So here we go. That's my, that's my saint Steelers preview.

And he did travel, uh, Cesar Ruiz did travel, so we'll see if he's going to be a go for game day. But yeah, Jawan Johnson talked to us a little bit about running the ball a little bit better, and that's starting to come together. High stakes game.

Versailles, what do you think?

It's beautiful.

Very cute. It's beautiful.

The houses are very, very nice. I want to look at all of them, but we don't have the time for that.

I just kind of want to just leave here and walk around the neighborhoods as we were getting here.

Just as you remember, as you.

Just picture this Greg in a beret with a pipe and a book in his hand and the falling leaves. And the cardigan, definitely the cardigan.

As you say, golden retriever energy, you like to say, and you're just, your tongue is wagging out the window. I know.

Greg cannot stand me right now.

No, I love it.

And I am looking forward to the rest of the week here. You will hear us again on Friday and Saturday. And then of course, after the big game on Sunday, we will see you then.
