Welcome to NFL Daily, where we were not expecting to be podcasting on a Monday morning in Los Angeles. I'm Greg Rosenthal. I am here with Charles McDonald, who really was not expecting to do a show today. He is the host of Athletic Live, doing a great job over there, three nights a week. Check him out. He's in Los Angeles as well. And we got Jalen Hurts. Out for the season news dropping, we have Chris Ballard fired as GM of the Colts news dropping. The second one, less surprising.
The first one is so weird, Charles. I appreciate you coming on last second to talk about it. Because there's a lot going on with this Jalen Hurts story that I don't even know where to start with it.
No, it's... It's crazy. And it's funny because.
When I woke up this morning, the first news I saw was from my buddy Kyle Williams. We were talking crap about the Bears-Falcons game yesterday. The first big news I saw was Andy Dalton getting signed by the Falcons.
I was like, whoa.
I was like, what a crazy way to start the day. And then I checked with my group chats, and it was just ablaze with all this Jalen Hurts stuff. And the more I read through it, I was like.
What the hell? What happened here?
I guess I'm probably asking the same questions that everybody else is. If you know anything about blood clots, the idea that he flew to London, played in the game, and then flew back is crazy enough. And then today it comes out that he didn't sleep for 36 hours before the game. And now he's out for the rest of the season because the blood clots have moved to his lungs. I just, I have so many questions here, but I guess the first one is why, why is.
All this happening?
Yeah.
Yes.
And that was, I think first posed by our friend and colleague, Mike Garifola, who kind of presented it all. So let's do the timeline of how this all went down. Not just this morning, although that is really interesting to me, but the last few days where the differing reports are, Jalen Hurts, according to the insiders, is not going to go on injured reserve. Then he is going to go on injured reserve. He'll be back this season for sure.
Now he's out for this season. We learn on Monday morning via a statement from his agent initially. Now it's on... like an Eagles document, but then she, yeah, it's a joint statement, but then she looking like she made it on Instagram or something has something at the top that says statement on the health status of Jalen Hurts from the Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts' agent, Nicole Lynn. I found it very interesting. This came out 15 minutes before the Eagles said anything about it. She released the news.
So here's, here's what it said. Over the last few days, Hurts has received comprehensive medical evaluations and In the interest of transparency, we're providing additional information. Now, he was not diagnosed to have the blood clots until he got to London. And this was a blood clot occurred because he got cleated in the Rams game. Initially, as you said, um, Charles, that they allowed him to play in this game because they did not think it was going to be a serious or risky problem. His treatment should only involve blood thinners.
Jalen's prognosis is very good. We expect a full recovery. He will have the opportunity. We anticipate he'll have the opportunity to resume contact football activities when he's off the blood thinners. In the meantime, he'll stay around the team. There will be no long-term effects. So that comes out.
at the same time where these insider reports from Ian Rappaport and Adam Schefter, but Rappaport was first on him, with some of the details that A, Hertz was in the hospital in London until 4 a.m. on the morning of the game. He did not sleep before the game because he was told it could pose a health risk to go to sleep. Then he gets on the plane, There was some talk in the locker room last week.
You know, Tanner McKee didn't even learn he was going to be the quarterback until Thursday. Jalen Hurts fully practiced on Wednesday, then got the extra ultrasound. So even as late as the middle of last week, they did not think that this was going to be as serious of an issue as it was. Everything goes from there. And I do find the framing of it, like, between the agents and the team and then the differing reporting where Adam Schefter and Ian Rappaport report something completely opposite on Saturday evening as they reported on Saturday morning and think, okay, you might've put out the joint statements that there's some unity here, but that there's a real problem maybe, and it's understandable why now, considering what Jalen Hurts did between
his side of things and their side of things. And it does make you wonder about their relationship long-term.
Yeah, absolutely.
And not just relationship long-term, but short-term too. I mean- I know people who follow my work know I can be very union-brained, I guess, on that side of things.
But why is this a joint statement?
Because the first thing that kind of came to my mind, and this is not the same situation, was when Trent Williams had his.
tumor situation with Washington.
And that was different in the fact that he was claiming that they withheld that information from him. And, you know, that ultimately decided him to withdraw from the team.
That's how he ended up a member of the 49ers after taking a year off.
But it's still, to me, it falls in like the same bucket of like, you're not quite maybe looking out for this guy, maybe the way that he should be going into the team. And The thing with... I've seen a couple of people say, oh, well, you know, Jalen wanted to play in that game. Well, of course he did.
He's a football player. That's what football players do. And we know that football players will push their bodies through all types of crazy stuff and stuff that you'd never even hear about just to go play in that game on Sunday.
But somebody has to be an adult in the room here because....
I don't know how else you can look at this, especially the news today, and not come away with the thought that he could have died at some point over the last week.
I mean, he's got blood clots in his lungs now that are.
You're going to have him likely out for the rest of the season because it's like a three-month treatment process, which would absolutely put you out for the rest of the season, especially with the way the Eagles are playing right now.
It's not being in the playoffs anymore.
Sometimes it just feels like this has gotten a little bit far away from things that actually matter. You know, like the health of one human being is more important than any football game you would, you would like to think. And it just feels, it feels reckless. I think reckless is the word that I will come back to. And I'm, I'm ultimately, I'm just glad that Jalen's okay. And he's going to have a chance to recover from this and, and, resume his career next year, I guess, because I don't know exactly. I know what Nicole Lynn is saying, but we've seen two high-profile cases in basketball recently where it can kind of go either way. You had Chris Bosh, who retired due to blood clots.
Then we had Victor Wimbignano recently, who was able to sit out a few months and then come back and eventually resume his career. I don't know which way it's going to go, but I do know it all feels reckless, and I'm just glad that we're not sitting here with a much more grim Monday morning story.
It's a great point, and I'm sure the Eagles regret how they handled it.
Oh, yeah. They have to.
I think one thing is clear. The people that are. Saying, look, we don't have all the information. That's absolutely true. But based on the information that the Eagles have now and that we have now, they, of course, would not have put Jalen Hurts out there if they thought there was a risk for that. And the fact that, yes, they saw medical professionals in London and that they said it was all okay. I never heard about that. You have to stay awake or that's going to be some sort of risk.
I've been playing a game after being awake for almost two days. What?
It's honestly crazy. It was also so close to beating a really good Jaguars team and was. Probably up there with like the best performances of Jalen Hurts' season so far. He was coming off a couple of bad games. I thought he played well in that game. It's all sort of behind the, beside the point, but they messed up. He trusted essentially the medical professionals in that situation and they made a mistake. And it's a, it's a results business. He has multiple blood clots in his lungs as, as a result for that. And it raises a lot of questions, including, and I hate to do this as I'm preparing to fly overseas and, to Paris to go watch the Steelers and the Saints play.
Very excited about that. It raises questions about, you know, like putting these guys on a plane, frankly, after an injury like this. We know how risky that can be. And it does make you think about their long-term relationship. I do want to get into that for a minute because he's the best quarterback in franchise history. And yet, I know you're making a face.
Yeah, he's supposed to come up with it.
He was second in MVP and balled out in a Super Bowl that they should have won and won another Super Bowl. So I love Randall Cunningham myself. He wasn't as good as Donovan. I mean, he wasn't as good as Donovan. Now, I'm just saying he's the man.
He's a man. So Nick Foles can get a statue. Jalen Hurts should have one, too. Right.
But my point is, this season was already being framed as a pivot. season for, can this work for Jalen Hurts here? Can it work for Nick Sirianni here, who is starting to feel like a dead man walking with this 2-4 team? But I think Hurts is the more interesting conversation. And this is like a stress test, Charles, where...
However your relationship was before this, I mean, you're going to get tested, and this happens in life, in the most extreme moments. And this was kind of an extreme moment. And it's hard to not imagine him and his agent, especially based on the reporting that is going out there, which it's not hard to connect the dots where it's coming from. You can imagine that they feel a certain type of way about how this all went down.
Yeah, especially because, I mean, this year.
The point of this year was a stress test for Jalen.
Hurts, right? You... We have maxed out what this can be. We got to two Super Bowls in four years. We won one of them.
We probably could have won two in that time span. But, you know, the way the cap says and the way A.J. Brown's brain works says this has to end, like, today. So you have that. You have Lane Johnson retiring. They trade Cam Juergens, who's already struggling anyway. Jeff Stallings out the door. So you walk into the season with a stress test. Okay, we've given you the Avengers around you the whole time. What does this look like moving forward when those guys are not there? The results, when he was playing, eh, not so great. And I think once he saw the trade for Juergens, when they traded to Baltimore for that second, it kind of felt like, okay, well, man, you got two firsts next year. You have two seconds
in 2028. This is clearly headed towards a reset. Now it's just seeing, like, how much can Jalen, like, Bama, put in a good way like how much can jalen hurts overcome on the.
Field um without these guys and.
Now now you don't even have jalen hurts right you know like now this is a stress test for nick sirianni like now now we get to ask like the ultimate question i think people that i have been begging to ask as someone who has kind of defended sirianni over the years because he he got to be good at something to win all these games but like what do you actually do here And that's what we're going to figure out over the next few months because you can criticize Jalen Hurts as I sure have. I got my show over his play. He's better than Tanner McKee.
He's certainly better than Tanner McKee. And we saw that on Sunday.
And he also loves ball, like loves competing. There's that Nick Saban story back in college where he doesn't want to come off the field. And that's why it's not surprising that I think despite a relative lack of, you know, high level, like quarterbacking traits. He has built himself into this incredible position in a, in some ways he is an incredible overachiever, a guy that you never would have expected would, would get to this point. And yet he did.
And that's the guy you, you kind of have to watch out for. And I think it was going to be awkward for the Eagles to potentially try to move on from him after this year, if, it didn't go well, and now it could be a point where he wants out anyways, and it could be best for both sides. I know we're getting ahead of things, but I did peek at the contract. I don't think we're getting.
Ahead of things. Okay. I don't think we're getting ahead of things at all.
I mean, your reaction has to be, is this the last time we saw him in the Eagles uniform, like last week in London? Possibly, but then you were about to say, you look at the contract, and I'm going to guess he might be back there next year, just with the dead captains.
Well, there's no guaranteed money. And if you trade him, you actually lose a little bit of cap savings. There's a $ 45 million dead cap hit. If you trade him before June 1st, it would be $ 24 million because he would spread it out if it was after June 1st. Compared to some of the dead cap hits, including for Carson Wentz not that long ago as a percentage of the cap, I mean, your guy, Matt Ryan, that one really hurt. I mean, Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers, a couple of times, like there have been bigger ones to it.
Like it, you could swallow it, but I also want to think about the short term of it all a little bit because they play the division in the next three games. And it's on Sunday night and Monday night. Nothing like a good couple of primetime games when things are really going bad. The Giants, I believe, are third up there. It's Cowboys and Commanders on Monday and Sunday night before that. In that order, just ugly. And like, yeah, you could make a case. Maybe they'll win one of those games and stay somewhat in it. But those three games come before the trade deadline, and I started making a list of players that could possibly be traded. Here was my short list. Number one would be Ojimo, because he's a free agent, and they have so much money invested,
and he could actually get picks. Saquon, possible.
I don't know.
Jonathan Grenard, just because he was barely there, but someone would maybe take him. Reek Woolen is a free agent this year. Would someone want a Reek Woolen rental? I already heard Eagles writers speculating Landon Dickerson would that they might try to showcase him before this Hurts stuff happened and then maybe trade him at the deadline. And so just raises a lot of questions. Would this team go like full tank mode, play Cole Payton? Would it really matter?
Joe Milton is now on the practice squad because your boy Andy Dalton left for the Falcons. Like there's just a lot going on right now. And we're going to have to watch this Eagles team play 11 more times, including you're going to have to in some of these primetime windows you're on live. So enjoy that.
We'll just switch over to food rankings like we have been in the last few weeks, which is really getting the people going. But I think the interesting part here to me with the calf stuff is it's like you're standing on the ledge now, kind of, right? Like, okay, this is obviously a very serious injury. And whether, like, if he comes back, whether or not he comes back and is able to resume his football career, Like you're going to have to make a decision on whether or not he's going to be here. And I keep coming back to like what the Jets did this off season where you have that horrendous team last year. And it's kind of like the tanking sounds good until you're doing the tanking, you know, because, because even, even if you
cut him and like, I'm looking at spot track right now. So maybe, you know, maybe this isn't like fully correct or whatever, but like if you, if you were June 1st of next year, 50 million dollars on the cap or even if you wrote the post-its.
Trade you can get something for Jalen Hurts I know we're way ahead of things and I am thinking about the player Taylor Moten just had blood clots missed you know six games he's coming back now he found out about it in the summer Christian Barmore has struggled with blood clots and it took him like a year and a half to fully recover so it's going to be different for everyone but yes we're operating under the assumption he'll be able to even play again if he if he could I think some team is giving up giving up something for Jalen Hurts Yeah, yeah.
I mean, I don't know if I would in this state. I guess we have to find out more information. But no matter, even if you get something back, at some point, you're going to be eating a big chunk of dead cat for at least a year. That's tough to do, especially when things are already going poorly. Maybe you see what happens this year. you're probably headed towards the top 10 pick at worst. Maybe even top five. Dude, if it looks like.
It did against Carolina, a Carolina defense, that is not good, by the way.
I heard someone, my friend Bo Wolfe said they'd be 0-6 if Jalen Hurts wasn't their quarterback. And I can't really disagree because this team is closer to being an 0-6 team.
Yeah, they're really bad.
Maybe you say, shoot, we'll take all the draft capital we've got. We'll load up on other positions and we'll try again next year. Because the defense is still going to be good. Or they're at least going to be competitive. I know they've got a couple of issues right now. But if you can just load up on offense again, maybe it's worth bringing him back. Because I just... Okay, you trade Jalen Hurts. Like, what next?
Right.
You build some sort of future at quarterback that's not Cole Payton and Joe Miller and probably not Sean Mannion either, who's trying to do this under center play action. It's not working. I did want to connect this story a little bit. And I do feel for the person Jalen Hurts. I think that is important to stress that it's. It can't be overstated how devastating this would be, but especially for this dude, man, I don't think there's anyone in the world that would want to be told less that he cannot play football, especially not when he's feeling all right and he's going to go through this treatment. So you do feel for him as a person, everything that he's going to go through, and hopefully he can get
better and get back to doing what he loves. I'm connecting it to the other big news of the day, the Chris Ballard firing, because it did cross my mind. I've heard over the years how much the Eagles love Shane Steichen, just generally. And you're saying, what does Nick Sirianni do here? What he does here is he takes all the blame. He is like the front-facing guy that just takes the slinging arrows. He literally always goes up there and just says, it's my fault, it's my fault.
He's like the punching bag. And obviously you want him to do more than that and have a good feel of the team. And they've won a lot of games with him. But that's kind of been his role because I think coaching Philly is kind of like coaching Dallas. Like you're not the man there. Howie's the man and ownership is more important. And I think they're always going to try to win. And when I saw Chris Ballard fired as the GM, I thought, shout out to Jordan Rodrigue, my co-host, who did say on this podcast, he always thought Ballard was in more trouble than Steichen would be.
That if something was going to happen, it probably would happen to Ballard first. And it did. And we can get into his tenure. But I also thought, look, this probably isn't going to go well for the Colts. If they have a full blow up, Like I could easily see Shane Steichen Eagles coach 2027 or at least near, near the top of the list.
Yeah. Yeah.
I think Shane, I still like Shane. I, yeah, yeah. There's a, you got to ask him like, Hey, what's going on with the Daniel Jones stuff?
How much of the idea was yours here?
Yeah.
But still he's a good offensive line and they've been able to move the ball here. Even though, even though Daniel Jones has been pretty good, Pretty rough. But I would find that Shane Steichen hiring kind of funny just from the standpoint of like, y'all have never quite.
Actually left this Andy Reid stuff, you know?
Right.
It's like they've kind of been sharing with the Colts here a little bit.
Yeah.
Because you had like Doug, you had Andy and then Doug and then like Frank Reich was in there somewhere on both teams and then Shane Steichen and Nick Sirianni and like, hey, Are you guys going to deviate from this at all at some point?
That's what they know. That's what they know.
I do like Shane, though.
I do think it would be a good start for whatever the next era of this Eagles offense is supposed.
To look like.
And if they decide, hey, we don't want to deal with some of the dead cap stuff on Jalen Hurts, maybe we're not getting the trade offers that we're hoping for, that's not a bad starting point. Saying, hey, Shane, Jalen, 2027, let's see what happens, then we'll move on to 2028.
Well, can he get Jeff Stoutland back in the building? I think that could be a possibility because it really felt like Nick Sirianni was the reason I already see Eagles fans checking like, Jeff Stoutland's still under contract because he retired. Like, can we get him back and get rid of the offensive stuff? All right, let's fully transition to Ballard. We hinted at it on the Sunday night show The Colts fans were chanting to fire Ballard and Carly Ursae. Gordon listened. He was in his 10th season.
They finished last season 1-8. You know, Daniel Jones' injury coincided with most of that. They were 2-4 this season, so 3-12. He ends up with a record 10 games under.
500, 72-82.
A 10-year run, 9-year plus run. where they only made the playoffs two times in that run. They did not win the division one time in that run. They had one playoff win. I'll put you on the spot. Do you have any idea who it was against and who was their quarterback?
One playoff win?
Yeah.
Oh.
I'm testing myself because I know who they lost to, but I'm going to check who they won. Wait, wait. No, no, no, no, no.
Chris Brown, was he the GM when Andrew Luck was still there?
That's absolutely right.
Yes.
Andrew Luck.
It's like 2015, right?
Yes. I think 2018 was Andrew Luck's last playoff win. And also his last playoff loss was Patrick Mahomes' first playoff win. So a little passing of the torch there in hindsight.
I remember Andrew Luck still being there when Ballard was there.
I forgot who they played. Yeah.
So, you know, he tried to figure that out, never could figure the quarterback situation out. Daniel Jones, they bet big on multiple times, including re-upping with him. Daniel Jones will remain the starter this week. Shane Steichen confirmed on Monday. Amazing that he's even being asked that question in week six.
Sean Payton, by the way, also being asked that question on Monday. Bo Nix, still his starter. Let's actually listen to Steichen talk briefly about the firing of his former coworker, Chris Ballard.
And it's the part of the business. You know, I don't think it falls completely on Chris. You know, I'm the head football coach.
It takes all of us coaches, scouts, everybody. So that's Shane Steichen never given you too much from the podium.
Nope.
We'll see. We'll see how long he lasts. But what do you think about the fact that Carly Ursae Gordon in the statement said this was very deliberate because we need to get moving and on the things we need to do to get better. What do you think she meant by that? I thought maybe fire sale, maybe like evaluating the next GMs, like Ed Dobbs is going to be their new acting personnel. So maybe it's a test drive for him. Maybe it's looking around. But I also thought maybe it's going to be hard for Chris Ballard to sell off pieces if we need to in a few weeks, because it wasn't that long ago that he was trading a couple firsts for Sauce Gardner.
Nope.
I was about to say, I'm looking at their current draft picks on tankathon.com.
If the NFL draft were to start today, the Colts' first pick would be pick 41A. That's a That's not very exciting, especially when you look and see where those teams are. I mean, they lost to the Titans yesterday. The Titans, who I was like, bro, is this team about to go 0-17 and, like, just start completely over everything again next year? I already thought that was Cam Ward traded, Robert Solomon, Brian Dable fired, but just completely started over after one year. And they lost to that team. So, obviously, it's bad, but I think.
You have at least DeForest Buckner, who is kind of almost verbally saying, if you're reading between the lines with the very clear pen that he's writing with, get me the hell out of here. Jonathan Taylor, that's somebody you could trade as much as it would sting for the fan base. I mean, they have pieces that you can move on from to try and get some of that draft capital back to get back into the first round for next year. But.
this is a long rebuild. I think that the Colts are going to be going on there.
And I don't really know what they can do next outside of kind of just like take it on the chin, like trade some pieces away now, take it on the chin in 2027, and you start over in 2028. Dude, that's still two years away from now. Two years away from now, it's like maybe be starting something new. And look, I know that I probably sound a little jaded on this stuff, talking about the Eagles and the Colts, but I root for a team that did the reset and hasn't done anything since the reset.
Right, there's no promise to it. You're a Falcons fan. Your employer has been using your pain as a fan for content, for clicks.
Yes, for sure.
I don't know how you feel about that. It is what it is.
Payday's on Wednesday, so as long as that's still in there, it's all good.
It's been a while. Adam Benetary was there yesterday getting inducted into the Ring of Honor. You know you're a badass when you get inducted into two Ring of Honors in back-to-back weeks. He was just in Foxborough doing that. Or maybe it was two weeks ago, but he did it twice in like two weeks. He's like, I want to knock this out and then I want to chill.
And it just reminded you how long it's been since they've been good. Here are some of the pieces that they could trade. I actually don't. It'd be tough to trade Jonathan Taylor because they just gave him a new contract. Although I just saw his guaranteed money isn't fully guaranteed till the fifth day of next year. So maybe it was funny money there, but Buckner, you mentioned, I mean, San Francisco could use him back, take him back to Forrest Buckner. I do the free agent list every year and I'm like, oh, Quinton Nelson's a free agent. I guess I got to put him pretty high. I just assumed this would get done, but man, he would be a high octane piece that could absolutely get you a good return. Josh Downs is a free agent. Grover Stewart
is 34, probably not helping you too much, but you could get something for him. And then Anthony Richardson is still on this team. You never know. I guess someone would have traded for him if they wanted him.
That piece is actually interesting because why haven't they traded him yet?
Because no one wanted him and it just was like, I don't think they fully trusted Daniel Jones to stay healthy. And I think because everyone's job was on the line, it was like, he's better than Riley Leonard. So we're going to give Anthony one more shot. We took him top five for a reason.
Shoot. Somebody asked me yesterday if I thought we were going to see Anthony play this season. I was like, probably. Yeah.
Oh, I think so.
Yeah. It's a, it's bad, but like the way, the thing I look at the Colts is like, it's kind of time to move.
It was definitely time to move on from Chris Ballard because a lot of this was avoidable, you know, like, If you had a better grip on things than where you were, and you were being honest with yourself, which is something that all NFL teams struggled with last year, there's no way you would have traded two first for a soft start game.
You're not the team that need to be making that move.
I mean, I don't think the Rams should have been... I don't think anyone should have been trading two firsts for Saskard, but you're right about it really shouldn't have been the Colts.
Especially when your quarterback is Daniel Jones. He was playing well last year, but he was playing like crap before he got hurt. That did fall off before he got hurt. And then they extended him. You didn't have to do that. You don't have to do anything. So Chris Ballard, it was time to go. The thing with the Colts is.
Carly, like, this is where Carly Ernst and Gordon kind of put her imprint on things. Because, bro, there was a lot of silly stuff going on. A lot of silly stuff. Remember when Phillip Rivers played in those games?
Well, sure. Jeff Saturday was the coach, and then there might be more silly stuff. Dan Patrick, on his radio show, said he heard... take it for what it's worth, that they were going to call up Peyton Manning and see what he thought.
That would be, of the three things we've mentioned here, Peyton as GM, 47,000-year-old Phillip Rivers coming back to play, or Jeff Saturday.
interim.
Coach, Peyton as GM is the most sensible of the three, even as crazy as it sounds. So, look, I don't really doubt that whatsoever, especially now that we see Matt Ryan, president of football, and even though the Falcons have lost, they're clearly a better team than they were last year, I think.
Yeah.
The offense is a lot better the defense is getting a lot of production out of guys that quite frankly I thought weren't going to be any good this year so it's not like it's a totally barren outlook on that part but man it is also kind of hard to trust like if I was a Colts fan like why should I trust that this is going to change too much because you still let Chris Ballard get this far in the first place.
Well that's the final point I'll make on Ursae Gordon was she made a mistake like When you're firing someone six weeks into the season, you blew it. Right, you blew it. So she hasn't been tested a ton early on decision-making. And to me, firing Ballard now is admitting, oh, I made the wrong decision. I wanted to see how this played out, and I made the wrong decision. Sask Gardner, by the way, is week-to-week, will not be available with a calf injury this week. And their schedule is getting pretty difficult. The final winner in all this, by the way, is the Jets.
Absolutely.
Because they hold the Colts pick. So they have the 10th pick. They have their own pick, which is right now 13. And they have the Cowboys pick. We talked about this about three weeks ago on the show that it was looking good for the Jets. They had to root against the Packers and the Cowboys. They both might be bad. Well, now those two teams have gone a different direction. So just save all your hate for the Cowboys, Jets fans. Root against the Cowboys. Root against the Colts.
Do whatever you want with your own team. And you might end up with three top 10 picks. Pretty sweet.
I'm about to say, the Jets right now, they have picks 6, pick 10, and pick 13. That's crazy. I think the Colts could use the 10th overall pick right about now.
We kept talking, Charles. I appreciate you. I held you longer on a day you were not supposed to be podcasting. And we just kept talking. I was wondering if we were going to get some Nick Sirianni stuff. quotes during the show. But he's like 25 minutes late to the show. He couldn't even show up for us.
Wow. That never happens.
They're probably just getting their ducks in a row. And if he says anything drastically important, we will have you covered on Tuesday. This is NFL Daily. The name of the show, it tells you. We'll be back soon enough. Charles McDonald hosts the Athletic Live when they're doing... What is it? It's Monday night and Sunday night, right? I got the night right.
Monday night, Wednesday night. Although not this week. Turn the keys over for WNBA finals, so definitely go check them out too.
Okay, so enjoy a little R & R, Charles, and we'll see you on NFL Daily on Tuesday.
