Good Morning Football is a production of the NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio.
Good Morning Football.
That's right.
This is Good Morning Football, everybody. We are presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerky. Welcome inside on a Tuesday, October 20th, L.A., New York.
We've got you covered.
Jamie Erdahl, Mance Iteo, Willie Colon back at the breakfast table. We love to see it. Willie, fantastic.
Thank you. You're all weak, no? I'm rolling. Oh, let's go. I'm rolling, yeah.
Kyle Brandt in New York, as always. KB, time is of the essence this morning after a Monday Night Football game because we got Adam Thielen coming on the show, and you're wearing your Angry Runs t-shirt, which only means one thing, so let's get to it.
Let's do it. You know, time. You mentioned time. We think of Dan Quinn and Jaden Daniels. I don't know if you heard this. They had a little issue with the clock last week, but they're back. And Dan Quinn has been through a lot. He's going to continue to fight through this.
The Niners are 5-0 for the third time since 2017, the first two times they made the Super Bowl.
Weird game, sloppy game.
Guys we know went down, and the Commanders had several chances to win it at the end.
But 23-17. Look it. The Niners are 6-0. Let's hear from the quarterbacks.
The NFL man every single Sunday today Monday um it's you know it's a competitive game you got the best players in the world in the sport playing and you just never know what can happen so um yeah I'm obviously a little uh upset with how I finished the game and stuff but I know that moving forward like it's every single game matters when it comes down to playoffs and getting in and all the things so um we'll take this dub as a team watch the film and um you know.
We got to be happy with it man we show glimpses we show flashes of you know how we could be when we're at our best and we're not shooting ourself in the foot um and you know we just can't come out here and you know start off slow between the five and oh now six and oh team like that in the 49ers um you know we went out we competed hard but you know competing can only get you too far so far in this league you got to do whatever it takes to win the game and we didn't.
Win They did compete. They pushed them to the very end, but the 49ers remain unbeaten on this season. However, it doesn't come without losses on both sides for the game last night. Mike Garofalo, welcome inside. Well-liked pass catchers in the NFL. We know the quarterbacks hate to see their guys go down. Let's start with the San Francisco 49ers and work our way through.
Mike Evans for the San Francisco 49ers, Jamie. And a lot of times in game when you see a team report an Achilles injury, you go, oh.
No, that's really bad. But no, not in this case.
This is a Achilles injury that is not a tear, but it's something that Mike Evans has dealt with and will continue to have to deal with.
But he left the game.
You could see he was in incredible pain. I mean, Mike Evans at this point in his career plays such a physical style of wide receiver.
He's had so many ailments.
And if it's a question of pain tolerance, this is the kind of guy that.
Will battle through it. So we'll see about this one here.
But he's got an Achilles issue that Kyle Shanahan said after the game, something that he's had before, and it was.
Bothering him throughout the week.
And they're hopeful that he's going to be able to play in the team's next game.
So we'll keep an eye on that.
We are not expecting that for Terry McLaurin. This is an extremely unfortunate one for one of the really good guys in the NFL. An air cast was placed on his leg, and it's a very small percentage of the time when that happens, and it's not a significant.
Serious injury. So this hurt the commanders.
This hurt a lot of people that have ever dealt with Terry McLaren because he's a really good dude here, but it is... believed to be a significant knee injury suffered by McLaurin last year he had the whole contract deal coming into the season and they feel like that affected his entire year this year we were there for training camp and I talked to Terry the vibes were so great he felt like everything was in a really good place for him and for the team that he had an injury earlier that he was dealing with he wound up playing through it against the Giants but now this one a significant one Sucks to see that for Terry.
McLaurin, Jamie.
We'll let you know what the full injury diagnosis is once we.
Get it, by the way. Okay, thanks.
We'll talk to you in a little bit, Mike G. Appreciate it. So the Commanders, they did their best. They had to go cross country and get through an emotional week after the way they know their game ended a week ago. Dan Quinn tried to get them right. We got to talk about what they do in terms of operations within a game. But the 49ers moved to 6-0.
That's the most important part of this. That is the fourth time they've done so in the Super Bowl era. Manti, Brock Purdy is masterful.
Yeah.
He is masterful.
That offense in the first half. I was sitting there watching that game and I was thinking to myself, there's not a team in the league that can beat the Niners right now. I actually went through their schedule. I was like, maybe the Seattle Seahawks and maybe the Kansas City Chiefs. And I started asking the question with my family.
I was like, these guys could go... At worst, 15-2. They could go 17-0.
In the first half, guys, they scored 20 points. This is how dominant they were. The Washington Commanders in the first half had 17 plays. The Niners had 17 first downs. There was not a team that could beat them. There was not a defense that could hold up against this offense. Brock Purdy was looking like the MVP. And then the second half comes along, right? They have a field goal on their first and only possession of the second half in the third quarter. The fourth quarter, nine plays, two yards.
And you start to think, well, what happened? Mike Evans went down. He walked off the field right before halftime, and he walked into that locker room.
And when he walked into the locker room.
So did the production of that San Francisco 49ers offense.
You know that nobody could guard George Kittle. Nobody could guard Mike Evans.
That big old explosive play that we saw Mike Evans catch the.
Ball, he literally, like, jogged because he's so hurt. And he still, his impact on.
The football game, without the ball in his hands.
Screw the ball. We know what he's going to do with the ball in his hands.
The amount of attention the defense has to give him is taking the attention off of Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle and Brock Purdy. Brock Purdy was sacked twice in the second half. He wasn't touched all first half. So what was my biggest takeaway? The first half, I looked at the Niners team that nobody could beat. Then the second half, the answer to my question of who could beat them was answered, and it's themselves. The only way that the San Francisco 49ers lose is if that thing that has haunted them the past few years, that starts with an I and ends with you know what?
And it happened to.
Mike Evans, and you saw how that impacted their offense, Willie. But for the first half, I don't think anybody could beat them.
Yeah, I agree with you.
Listen, I know the Niners are a gritty, scrappy team. You know that DNA, we watched them going back to last year where they played with a duct tape defense, right? They made, hey, actually beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs. Nobody thought that was going to happen. But my concern was really towards the Washington Commanders. Listen, I respect the fact that they made it a game. It was a scrappy one. It's 23-3. You're in San Francisco. You're going against an undefeated team, and you have to make it a dogfight. My biggest problem with the Washington Commanders moving forward, they have no offensive identity outside.
Of Jaden Daines.
I mean, I honestly thought this was going to be the type of game the Arizona Cardinals played against the L.A.
Rams.
They're going to pound the rock, be methodical, keep the Niners' offense on the sideline, and pretty much grind their way through this game.
They did for the most part.
I mean, they had two opportunities to take the game over. But what the problem is, if you're not running the ball and you're relying on this man right here to be at Hercules down after down and efficient time after time, it falls flat. And that's what happened in the first half. Now, the second half, they rallied. They got busy and all sails ahead. Nevertheless, man, they got to have to figure out outside of Jaden Daniels, what do they do well?
And this is going to be a question they're going to have to answer because I don't think they have a talent problem. I think they just need to build an ecosystem and a structure around Jaden Daniels where he doesn't have to carry such a load. But nevertheless, man, it was a scrappy effort against a very good team in the San Francisco 49ers, KB.
Yeah, I mean, they had a million shots at the end and weren't able to get it. We have to talk about the commanders pertaining to what happened last week and pertaining to maybe what just happened again. Do you guys know what our American cousin is? Our American cousin? Our American cousin. Is the play that Lincoln was watching. OK, not a great night. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Well, the cast of Our American Cousin did another show next week after all that happened.
I'm not making that up. You can look it up. And they lost one of their actors.
They rallied and they did a show at the Ford Theater next week.
They did it.
The commanders, did they just do it again after what happened against the Giants, the tie and all that?
Did they just do something again?
Because in the second quarter, there's a fourth down, fourth and two. And Jane Daniels, this is undeniable, on a fourth and two. When you have three points, runs out and just throws it away. Like doesn't give a chance or nothing. And then there's a shot of Van Quinn on the sideline where it looks like he's, the lip readers are saying, he's saying field goal, field goal, field goal.
Oh, that was fourth down. Oh, field goal. Oh, that was fourth down.
I mean, so on the broadcast, it looked like he was thinking that Jaden just threw it away on third down and he's calling for the field goal unit only to realize in real time, wait, that was fourth down. Now Jaden's to me is inexcusable. Dan Quinn's is at least debatable. So out of respect for Dan Quinn, he was asked about it afterwards. Let's play the sound coach. Like, did you know that you knew that that was fourth down, right?
Coach?
I definitely knew it was fourth down. We were going for it.
And I think whatever you're referring to, I was probably saying, like, with the illegal shift, there's not a penalty to go for a field goal. Like, it doesn't go, like, it's the turn on downs. Like, I think somebody had asked me, can we kick a field goal? So, no, we were going for it. We knew we had to go for some fourth downs to be bold in the game. No, I knew what happened.
I think I was probably just.
Commenting that I remember at least on the headset somebody asked me and after an illegal shift like it was turnover on downs and Jaden saw the foul too I think he also came off saw the penalty.
All right, so Dan Quinn's lifeline is that you saw the flag go there, and he was thinking that affected what was going on, and now we're just grabbing little words that he was saying without knowing the proper context, and he insists that he didn't know it was fourth down, which I actually believe.
Jaden, I don't know what he was doing.
If Jaden's going to come out and say that he saw the flag and maybe knew it was on the defense or something, so he just threw it away, but I don't know why you're throwing a pass out of the back of the end zone when you have three points on fourth down and When you just throw it up in a jump ball, like every quarterback in history knows.
My point is, like, I'm trying to work with the commanders here.
I like Jaden. I love Quinn.
After last week, I think we had another snafu regarding the clock. And this time it was the end of the second. It was in the second quarter rather than the end of the game. I don't think we can talk about the Commanders much anymore after this. I know we can say, oh, NFC East, it's McCarthy, and it's this, and it's that.
But they have one win. They have one win.
And again, they had 50 shots to win this game in the second half.
The Niners were trying to give it to them. And it's just a mess right now.
You guys, when you're watching this Quinn-Jayden thing, do you see anything that I'm not?
Please. Yeah, no, and that was the first thing that happened.
I mean, the end of the game was one as well with Jaden with the intentional grounding and had to do a 10-second runoff. That's another situational kind of mishap that happened for the commanders.
And that is, it's a little concerning, right, Willie.
When the same situational mishaps keep happening around the same time.
In crucial situations, in.
Crucial games, because they did fight back from that, right? It didn't look like a game at first, and now you had the opportunity to do it. Now they needed more than a field goal at the end of the game, Willie. They needed a touchdown, but definitely throwing the touchdown from a 28-yard line is a lot easier than throwing one from the 40. And so there's... There definitely has to be a conversation about Jaden, about the conversations that are occurring with him and helping him to understand what he has to do in those situations.
More importantly, Willie, what he can't do. It's just... It's definitely... Eyebrow raising, Jamie.
It's just in stark contrast to what the 49ers have going on, which is a unified operation. And that's like an easy way to explain how the San Francisco 49ers play and go about their business. You look at the commander side of things, and it's just like, how do you get it so... terribly wrong every single time compared to just an impeccable thing that Kyle Shanahan has going on on the other side. The 49ers sit atop their division and the Rams are at the bottom of the NFC West. And with that, Mike Garofalo, you're back at it because the Rams have to deal with yet another injury blow. And once again, it's a wide receiver in the conversation.
I was going to say, which one are you talking about, Jamie? Because we've got a bunch to run down here, but it's Devontae Adams. I mean, you've got to laugh because if not, you're going to cry if you're the Rams at this point. Sean McVay right now is really going through it. Devontae Adams with this non-contact hamstring injury. Six to ten weeks is the number that he gave for his recovery. That is just brutal. The loss there for the Rams at this point with the way that they're scuffling right now to try to just win some games.
And then you look at the extended injury report for the Rams. Puna Ford's going to be out for the season, the defensive tackle that probably doesn't get enough love with a triceps injury. Blake Grupe, that's a torn ACL right there, so he's going to be.
Lost for the season.
They are working out two veteran kickers today, Brandon McManus, and Matt Prater, according to sources here. So one of those veterans is going to wind up winning the job for them. Kobe Turner, love Kobe Turner. He's a great interview. He's a really good player as well. On IR with a groin issue there, which is not a long-term deal, but he's going to miss at least four games.
And then remember they got Miles Garrett as part of the super team?
Yeah, he's not yet ready to practice. because of that knee injury that he has been dealing with. So not great for the Rams when it comes to the results. Not great for the Rams when it comes to the injury report. Sean McVay going to have to find a way to scuffle with a team that we thought would be, I don't know, 6-0 right now, Jamie?
Although, no, I should, let me rephrase.
I really should give Kyle Brandt his love here because he said for all the people that are just, you know, penciling in the Rams all the way to the Super Bowl with a fantastic record, he said they might struggle early. I don't know if he envisioned this, but Kyle, you said this is why we play the games on the field, not paper.
Mike.
I picked the Titans to make the playoffs. I don't need any flowers right now, but I appreciate it. And by the way, they're still eligible.
They're still eligible. You guys shut up. No laughing. They can still make a run. Okay, but Mike, I appreciate you. And we'll see. I hope the Rams figure it out. I like the Rams.
Mike, he told us to laugh so we didn't have to cry for the Rams, okay? Now I'm confused as to what.
We're supposed to be doing. Thanks, Mike. I love you, Mike.
Our next guest on GMFB is a retired NFL wide receiver. He spent 12 seasons in the league. A familiar face here at the breakfast table. Always thrilled to have Adam Thielen back on the show.
What's up, guys? Here we go.
Very busy life for you right now.
Good to be with you guys.
Adam, I'm sure you watched Monday Night Football last night. The San Francisco 49ers remain perfect. How much do you attribute this to Kyle Shanahan, Brock Purdy, or the menagerie of pass-catching characters on this offense?
Yeah.
I mean, Brock Purdy's playing lights out. I think Dan Orlovsky, I've spent some time with him the last few weeks and he loves Brock Purdy. He says he's the best quarterback in the NFL right now. And you watch these games and you're like, okay, I see what he's saying. I mean, his poise, his presence, his ability to move in the pocket and just deliver ball after ball with the layered throws. And I mean, you see that throw right down the middle, like he's just making all the throws it takes to be an elite quarterback. And so I think a lot of it is him, but a lot of it's obviously Shanahan and this offense and the way that they play the game with the run and the play action, the keepers, and obviously McCaffrey just getting five, six,
seven yards of pop. So it's, it's a really fun offense to watch. And, and again, they don't really have the star receivers right now. Everyone's hurt, which is a real bummer.
Dude, how about those undefeated Vikings? What a cool story. It's an incredible start to this season. I mean, it's amazing. You got to be fired up. But more specifically, we've been talking.
About this, about Kyler, all right? It went from kind of like, let's see how this works out this year, to he's one of the most important figures in the league right now because of how good the defense is, because of the receivers. Can you tell us your insight about what you see from him and what you suspect and maybe surmise from his relationship with Kevin O'Connell about, like, can they.
Win the Super Bowl this year?
Well, I'll say this, this last game is, is if you watch back that tape, it's why they brought Kyler to Minnesota, his ability to make some plays with his feet, to make some of those on time throws. Like everyone thinks like, Oh, he runs around and throws the ball around. It's like, no, it's not true. He actually does. play on time.
And he does it.
He does it really well. And then when he doesn't, he uses his feet and he gets five, six yards. Sometimes it's a first down. Sometimes it's, it's just setting up a third and short. And, and that's what I saw in this last game. You weren't seeing that as much in the first few weeks. I think obviously he takes the big hit in the first game. He's knocked out.
And I think he was a little skittish to do that in this, in this next start. And so I think you kind of saw in this last game, just his ability to move in the pocket, to make some of those throws down the field, to play on time. And then they were able to run the football. And in this offense, if you can't run the football, it makes it really tough on those old linemen because then you're just dropping back and you're taking three-step, five-step drops and you're making– the job for these old line really tough.
So when they can run the football and they can get to their play action game and they can use their weapons, because let's not forget, they got a lot of weapons. They got two receivers. They got a tight end. They have running backs, especially with Mason coming back. So I'm excited about it. I kind of was watching the first few weeks saying, Hey, if we can sneak these first two weeks, three weeks out, it's going to be really good because that offense is only going to get better and better. And In this league, it takes a long time for the quarterback and the receivers and the OC to all get on the same page. And you can't really do that through training camp and OTAs. Like you can make a stride towards that, but like it
really comes throughout games and game reps and game situations that you learn and understand more of the offense. And again, you're starting to see that as the weeks move on.
Well, Adam, you just hit it.
I think when you think about a quarterback and his transition and trying to get that relationship with his wide receivers, you talked about them trying to work on it through training camp. I think it makes it extremely difficult when you're going against Brian Flores and that defense being right now currently the number one ranked scoring defense in the NFL and the lead in turnovers per game. I know you've seen it. What impresses you the most about this defense?
What's that secret sauce to every single week you watch Brian Flores and them boys just get after offenses and quarterbacks?
The biggest thing for me is consistency. They just do it week in and week out, play in, play out, and they just fly around. They cause chaos. They do it as a team, right? There's not just one guy that's dominating. It's a true team defense. And the way that Flores runs this defense, if you don't have that, if you have one, two guys trying to do their own thing, trying to make plays, it doesn't work. It does not work at all. And so that's, what's impressed me so much this year is just the way that they're able to play together and they're being selfless, selfless to be able to just like, Hey, you go get the sack. You know, like I'll, I'll take on this double team and you go get the sack. And, and
some of these guys right there, they're on contract years or what have you, but they, they treat winning more important than their own individual stats, which is is really impressive.
Adam let's talk about our guy our guy and JJ McCarthy I say out because I'm a fan of him but you actually play with him he made his debut for the New York Giants what did you think about his performance he almost willed the Giants to victory this past Sunday.
Man, I couldn't be more excited. I couldn't be more proud to see that. I didn't get to watch the game, but I got to, you know, kind of hear about it and see the highlights and watch. What really stuck out to me is to watch how his teammates responded to him at the end of the game. You know, the game's over and they mount this comeback, but they don't finish it. And everyone's after the game, like the TV's...
the cameras are on him and all of his teammates are coming over and giving him a big hug and, and dapping him up. Like that shows to me, like his impact has already been made in the locker room in a short time there. Like he's a guy that when you're around him, you just want to be around him more because he's, he's got a big smile on his face. He's energetic. He's young. And it's just a guy that just like is a great leader because of who he is as a person. And so I couldn't be more proud of him. You know, sometimes in this league, like you just need a fresh start. You just need, a different situation, a different place, a different scenario, and that's what he needed, and I'm excited to see where
it goes.
Actually putting your words into action, Adam, with the Thielen Foundation's Hashtag Change Through Sport program, which recently teamed up with Torque Fitness and ETS Performance to benefit student-athletes at Harding High School, which is in St.
Paul.
Can you tell us more about this program, and what are you doing for kids there?
Yeah, it's actually our 11th gym renovation. So what we've found is we go into these high schools and that really need just some support and we go and revamp their weight room. So turf it out, all new weights, as you see in these pictures. I mean, it's beautiful, all new graphics. And if you saw the space before, it did not look anywhere near that like old. weights everywhere, you know, nothing matching and, and kind of pieced together.
And it's, it's really cool. What I've found is because every time we've done this, like the excitement in the, in the school and the athletics, people want to play sports now because they're, they want to be a part of it and they want to be able to use this amazing equipment.
They want to get better.
And these kids end up staying in sports and graduating high school and, And some going on to get secondary education. We also partner with them and give them scholarships. So the leaders, the five leaders of the sports teams, they get a thousand dollar scholarship to go towards whatever they want, a new laptop, what have you for school supplies. And it's really just you've seen the impact it's made on the younger kids, too, because like someday I want that.
And I'm going to be a leader. I'm going to work hard. I'm going to show that I'm the guy that can be a great leader in this community. And then they earn that scholarship because we do it for 10 years. And so it's been really cool to see the impact it's made. And that's why we've done 11 of them because it has truly made an impact. And we're going to keep continuing to do that with great partners like Torque. I mean, you saw those weights. It looks amazing. And they've been just such a great partner.
And then ETS Performance just providing some training and scholarships to kids that can just help them to be the best athletes they possibly can be.
It's great stuff, Adam. And I know your wife, Caitlin, is heavily involved in that as well. So shout out to everything you guys are doing to bring support to the youth in Minnesota.
Adam Thielen, everybody. Thanks for coming on GMX.
Adam!
Thanks, guys. Good to see you all.
Absolutely.
Great to see you, brother. Come back anytime.
Adam played for all the teams in the NFL that we want to talk to him about.
The Steelers, he knows the Giants well.
He's got the Raiders.
And the Vikings. Let's go!
Dawson knocks with the stiff arm in the.
I just think angry runs, that segment. This guy, he just lives angry. Thank you for my six angry runs. Much love, much appreciation. The guy's name that does it with the angry runs. I always want to be on that, you know. He can be an angry runner. Angry runner. Angry runner. That's what I'm talking about. Let's go. Let's go. Oh, Kyle Brandt. We just had an angry run candidate. You actually said you win that scepter. Angry run scepter. As a running back, you want this. You want to be on the angry runs and have an angry run.
They send you a cool scepter, send you a cool shirt.
Come and get it.
Boom.
Good morning.
Those are my guys and you are my people. A lot of my people, meaning you, very frustrated with me down here back.
Into the corner of a basement. I get it.
I respect it. And I can only tell you that rescue attempts are underway. Like getting Matt Damon off Mars. We're trying, folks.
We're trying. And I love that you care and I love that you're angry. It's kind of meta, right? It's angry runs. Let's get into it. I mentioned the people. The street team.
Let's start with my guy, Andy. I could not love this kid more. Andy is the man. It's the senior walk night. He's out there flexing. He's got his turf tape on. He's got his eye black and he's got his message.
Right down the middle. I run angry under Friday night lights. How cool is that? Absolutely love it. That's his team. I love it. They look great. There he is. It's all his boys.
Look, I'm lifting up the shirt just to show it off.
I love you guys. I could not say it enough. I'm going to keep saying how much I love you. It's a segment about anger, but it's really about love. Next, Lambeau Field.
This guy runs a she's head hideaway, and he is down there with field passes.
Wow, fancy.
Look at you, repping the Jordan Love Angry Runs. Jordan Love won Angry Runs last year, 2025.
Love him. How about some of the youngsters? Where's my girl? Who's my girl, Brooklyn? Come on, Brooklyn. Let's go. Bring up the pig.
There she is.
Brooklyn, I love it. Brooklyn's known for a lot of things.
Not just Kelly Clarkson and expensive birds. It's a perfectly lovely name for a young girl who's got a little BB-8 in her hand. She's got the Angry Runs. She represents the Buccaneers. I respect it. And then, listen, Angry Runs come in all forms. We've seen all kinds of different people in different walks of life doing Angry Runs.
Bring up Scott. Scott sent this picture. which appears to be very sobering, but Scott, you have our respect.
Anything you're going through or your family is going through, we're honored that we are going through it in our own way with you, and I appreciate you sending the pic, and we wish you all the luck and all the help from all of us on Good Morning Football.
Love you, love you, love you. You know who else I love? I mentioned Lambeau Field, guys. We have to go back before we can go forward, all right? Last week, our winner was, you know, these Packers are just on fire right now.
Do you remember what Marshawn Lloyd did to the Bears a couple weeks ago?
Not good things, nasty things.
Down around the goal line, Marshawn Lloyd and those beautiful, you know, and Jalen Johnson. Yeah, you give him credit for sticking his nose in there, I guess, but he's a professional.
And he went from through his nose to on his butt.
And Marshawn Lloyd was one of the easiest anger run scepters we've ever awarded in Did it get to Green Bay?
Now, listen, I don't know if you know me. I'm from Chicago. Sometimes they have things.
That are pro-Chicago, pro-Bears. Yes, they sent it anyway. Look at Matt LaFleur on the far left. The head coach presented Marshawn Wood with the scepter at practice, and the fans went crazy.
He gave a speech.
It still gives me chills after doing this segment for nine years to see players and teams like this celebrate this award that we as a show hand out. It makes me very proud. Huge love for the Green Bay Packers. Marshawn Lloyd, you're nasty. And the Packers just keep on winning. So listen, I got the shirt on. You go to homage.com slash angry runs. By the way, some breaking news about the shirts. Pay attention to my social media. We are listening to the people. We are hearing the people about all kinds of things. There may be an evolution of the shirts in season. But in the meantime, have we done all our table setting now? Can we, for the love of God, you're saying, can we get into the angry runs for this week?
Yes.
Let's go to, I don't know, the Super Bowl champions.
George Polanyi. Polanyi in the silver helmets.
I love a scrum.
You guys know how much I love a scrum.
When you go into one, and then about six yards later, you're still in one, and you're going, and you're going, then they damn near push Polanyi all the.
Way into the Puget Sound. It's amazing.
Look at the uniform for a second, but then look at there's about 12 bodies in there just fighting and pushing. It's like it's back in the day. It's Rutgers versus Princeton and the invention of football. By the way, Princeton got smoked in that game. They got shut out. I shouldn't bring it up, but I do anyway out of respect for the Seattle Seahawks and the way that they are taking Olani at about the nine-yard line and pushing him through walls of Denver Broncos.
In that thin air.
It's a lot easier in the thin air. almost damn near to the end zone. Listen, Seahawks are beat up. I know they're taking on water right now, but they have all the fight, and they are still fierce.
Enough about Kenneth Walker.
Enough.
I know he looks like he's going to win the offensive player of the year, if not MVP, if not president.
He looks amazing.
Just on this run, George Helani at Al, all the way damn near to the end zone.
I respect it. You know who's next? What if I got a jet for you? What if I got a New York jet? Give me Braylon. Let's go.
Braylon doing Braylon things. I can say that now. Don't get him out on the flat near a cornerback. That's not where you want him here in defense. Uh-oh, that's a danger zone.
And boom! This is perfect.
I've seen a lot of guys get flattened in this segment.
I've never seen one quite so effortless.
Like Braylon Allen was out there and he's like, oh, look, a little ladybug on my forearm. I mean, he barely even broke his running stride. Number zero, which was the percentage chance.
He was going to get tackled there. Oh, man, KB out in the flat. That's a tough look.
But Braylon Allen is a big, big dude who just flicked a ladybug. And that's not supposed to be that easy.
Just casual. He doesn't go down. Keeps on running with those beautiful pink cleats.
Braylon, you may be on the podium. You're already on the podium. You may be on the top with the gold. And by the way, you might say, Kyle, if you.
this to many New York Jets over the years? I'm glad you asked. You want to see some cool pictures of Jets winning angry runs? Bring up the first one.
This is an absolute nightmare. Look at my guy, Quinnen. They did such a good job with this. Of course, now Dallas. But back when he was in the Jets, Quinnen got his hands.
On one, and he actually ran over Tyreek Hill. Some of you might remember. You want one that's funny, too? You want to see a way throwback of the New York Jets winning angry runs? Bring it up. You won't believe who it is. It's so good. I love this picture. It's one of my favorite ones. Sam Darnold.
Yeah.
Sam Darnold, well before he was a Super Bowl champion, is standing there in New Jersey at the end of, I don't know, five and 12 season with a smile and a thumbs up. Sam Darnold won angry runs. You can't ever tell me that's not true.
That's a fact. That's a fact. That happened. But we have one more nominee. One more nominee.
I mentioned how good right now everybody's playing. Kenneth Walker, amazing. How about Jalen Warren? How about Jalen Warren, Willie Colon from the Pittsburgh Steelers? Jalen Warren, it's just like he's been around for years.
He's been a huge part of this segment for years. He upped his game this year.
Spin, spin.
Spin break tackle don't come in with that peanut punch crap who do I look like JJ Watt and Jim Nance don't try to punch just tackle me and thank the football gods you were able to get me on the ground to do the double spin back.
In a row to take the punch to.
Keep running Jalen Warren has been the best player on the Steelers The Steelers got some future Hall of Famers. He has been the best player on the Steelers. He's always an angry runner. He'll always have a place at our table.
You know what? Because I got the pictures. Bring them up.
Let's go way back into the way back machine again. Jalen Warren can always chill at my house. He can always be in the segments from years ago. Up-and-coming player, a little ball of butcher knives, top-running style, furious.
I love this guy. I'll always represent for this guy, especially when he's playing as well as he is this year. I get it. Bijan and Gibbs and Walker, they're fantastic.
Jalen Warren is absolutely dominating people this year, and I would love if he would win this Scepter. And, guys, we have now set the table. It is time for you to eat. George Holani, Braylon Allen, Jalen Warren, bring in all my angry friends on a Tuesday morning.
I'm going to wield a scepter. I'm going to pass it over to you.
Talk for a while so I can ingest some oxygen into my bloodstream.
I got you.
I don't know if you knew, but Jalen Warren is Samoan, George Holani's Tongan.
So you have two Polynesians on your list.
Oh, wow.
So you have two of them. Now, Jalen Warren is an angry runner. George Holani has been running angry as of late. But that Braylon Allen run, Jamie, that is anger in a bottle. I think I'm going to claim Braylon Allen as a Polynesian just because I want to.
Honorary oost. Honorary oost.
He will get my Angry Run Scepter nominee, Honorary Oost, Braylon Allen.
Willie, what you got? Yeah, KB, you put me in the pickle. If I pick the Jets, right, I'm a Judas. If I pick a Steeler, you're a Judas. I'm loyal to both. I can't help it. I'm blessed for you. I'm a representation.
Nevertheless, man, I was there standing there watching. I was standing there, but I was watching Braylon Allen run over that defender from the New Lake Patriots, and.
It was violent and hostile. And this is what this segment is all about, angry runs. So I'm going with Braylon Allen.
Kyle, as you go through these runs, I oftentimes close my eyes after I watch them, and I try to take myself back to a moment where I felt such anger. And recently I had my kids at an arcade, and we were doing the claw dropper games, and, like, nothing enrages me more when I've heard put my hard-earned quarters into those machines, and those claws just have that stuffy, and then it just slips through the grip of that thing for no reason. And that is probably how Kevin Byard III felt when Braylon Allen just went through. He was just a total miss on that stuffy. And that is my angry run vote.
You know, Jamie, it's that one and a half seconds where the claw actually appears.
To be pulling up the SpongeBob. It's that dopamine that keeps you coming back. They designed those things perfectly. And this segment sets up perfectly because, guys, this thing is staying local.
It is going to the New York Jets. Yes!
Braylon Allen, you are getting the scepter.
My man, we're going to Jersey.
Big dude was born to win angry runs.
Don't get him out in the flat.
You want to keep that sucker between the tackles where you have some friends to help you bring him down. When he's out in the flat, you're about to be flattened.
J-E-T-S-A-N-G-R-Y. Braylon Allen wins angry runs. See you next week.
Boom!
