Good Morning Football.
That's right. Welcome inside. Good morning, football, everybody. Presented by Old Trapper Beats, jerky second hour on a Wednesday, October 28th, 2026. Jamie Urdal, Mance Iteo, Isaac Rochelle. You got to say the year in times like this because of the trades that are happening.
You got to.
Timestamp this like it is this date at this time. And now the Colts are two players less on their roster. Mike Garofalo, right?
All right.
NFL Network Insider joining us now. Mike G, as I said, the Indianapolis Colts. They've been busy. This dates back to last week, but now with new leadership involved in these decisions, that coupled with the loss of the Vikings on Sunday, they have two less stars on their team come today.
New leadership, it is.
Ed Dodds who took over for Chris Ballard when Ballard was dismissed as general manager. Dodds, the interim GM, he was formerly in Seattle where he worked under John Schneider, so his first trade as Colts interim GM, of course, with Schneider and the Seahawks, who last year acquired Rashid Shaheed at the deadline, giving up a fourth and a fifth round pick. This year, a third and a fifth round pick to acquire Quentin Nelson, the all-pro guard who is one of the more... physical imposing guards that there is in the league he's at he's on the backside of his career at 30 but he's still got some good football left and if this results in an extension with the Seahawks at one point to be a key piece of their offensive line for the next I don't
know four or five years none of that would surprise me sort of like the Seahawks did with Shahid in the offseason when they extended him But in the meantime, the Colts saying, yeah, it's been a disappointing season. We've got Dodds in his interim interim GM. How do you make an impact as an interim GM? You can't really make the moves that you'd make in the offseason. So you can show ownership. Look what I'm able to do.
I'm navigating this. If we lost Quinton Nelson via free agency, we would get a third round pick in 2028. Well, I got that third round pick a year earlier, plus a fifth rounder on top of that. Forget the compensatory formula. We're going to get the compensation right now. Then, later in the day, DeForest Buckner in a deal that, frankly, once the Nelson deal went down, I got a call from a few people who said, well, who's next, Buckner?
And I said, yeah, and it could be in the short term. So there goes Buckner.
Back to the 49ers.
George Kittle welcoming him back on social media. Deebo Samuel returned to the Niners. Now you get Buckner back there. as a presence that can win one-on-one for a defensive front that badly needed a guy that can create some pressure. Buckner with his four sacks is now the leading sacker for the 49ers.
Three and a half was the lead before that.
So they immediately add some impact here, and the Colts get back a three, a four, and a five combined with these two trades.
All right, deadline two weeks from yesterday. The Colts may not be done just yet. So are there other teams, Mike G, that we need to keep an eye on as we approach this trade deadline?
Well, the Colts might not be done yet because Jonathan Taylor is the guy that we're really looking at from a running back perspective. Now, if they were going to be in a rush to trade him, he probably would have been part of this trade bonanza yesterday. And from our understanding, and our colleague Adam Schefter at ESPN has mentioned this as well, The Colts really don't want to trade Jonathan Taylor because as much as he feels like he's been around for a while and he signed a couple of contract extensions, which, by the way, you don't usually sign a guy to an extension and then.
Want to trade him soon thereafter.
He's not even close to 30.
He's got a couple more years until he gets to the age of 30 here. So if a team is going to get Taylor off of the Colts right now, I think they're really going to have to come strong. It's not just going to be that compensatory pick type compensation.
That I was talking about.
This is going to have to be up into the early part of day two of the draft, if not a first round pick potentially for the Colts to get Jonathan Taylor away. But we still have two weeks left and things have a way of changing once we get closer.
The Colts, by the way, also have.
A few other pieces including wide receiver Josh Downs that could be on the move so again Ed Dodds in season is trying to show ownership now that I have this job for right now here's what I can do here's how I can navigate this and here's how I can have some conversations the best way to do that if they're going to trade Jonathan Taylor would be to get a return that's just going to blow a lot of.
People away If I'm sitting there and I'm Daniel Jones, I'm just like, okay, I got it. So DeForest gone, Quentin gone. And now you're mentioning the likeness of a wide receiver and a running back.
Daniel Jones could have played better.
That's true, Mike. Let's be fair. I'm sorry.
Not to put it all on him, but I'm just saying the names that are on the move, it just directly affects the quarterback spot.
Mike, thank you.
We'll talk to you in a little bit about some other news in the NFL. Let's hang in the NFC West, though, because these are the teams that received some of these players in the trade that went down on Tuesday. One team that we have not said in this capacity, though, is the Rams.
And the L.A.
Rams have their backs against the wall. They sit at 3-4 this season. They've had some bad losses. They've got an injury list as long as a CVS receipt. It's the Battle of L.A. this weekend, though, at SoFi Stadium. Chargers haven't won a game there. Chargers haven't won a game on the road either. But Sean McVay knows that there are no gimmies in the NFL schedule.
Humility is a day away. This is a good team.
The records and stuff with the way that this season and the way that everything's kind of gone in this league, anybody can beat anybody. I would hope that we're mature and professional enough to know that we've got to be able to have the right focus, concentration, level of urgency. This is professional football. They got great players. They're really well coached. I couldn't care less about what their record is.
We'll get humbled if we're not ready to go.
Yeah, we've seen the Rams not ready to go a couple times this season. They've been humbled in big-time moments with heavy expectations on their shoulders. So the Niners and the Seahawks are now making moves to the trade deadline. How can the Rams keep pace? Honestly, Manti, not only in the NFC West, but this game specifically this weekend, Rams-Chargers across the street from us, it has implications across the board for both organizations.
It does.
I think the bigger implication is for the Rams, though, Jamie.
I mean, you're looking at a team that.
There was a lot of promise and there was a lot of talk, Isaac, about what this could be, the greatest team ever, the super team. And when I look at the NFC West with the acquisitions that the Seattle Seahawks just had with Quentin Nilsen, with DeForest Buckner going back to the San Francisco 49ers, it's like, you ever played Mario Kart?
Yeah.
And you're going on there like the 49ers and the Seahawks just got that mushroom and they just got a little burst of speed. Meanwhile, the Rams hit a banana peel and they've been in this banana peel and they've been spinning out and they're trying to figure out like, why the heck is these guys so far ahead of me?
It almost seems like they can't catch up. And for me today, I don't think they will catch up to what the Seattle Seahawks have been doing and what they just did. And what the San Francisco 49ers have been doing all year long.
I think the best bet for.
The Rams is, They hope that Mike Evans doesn't come back for the Niners. They hope that Miles Garrett eventually plays. I don't know when he's going to play. You know, Devontae Adams is.
Out for a while. So you're trying to mount this comeback. You're trying to stay in this race.
And the only optimistic thing, I think, if you're the Rams, is you look at the other divisions. The NFC East is kind of up in shambles, and so is the NFC South. But then you look at the North and right now all four teams in the North, Jamie, have winning records. So if I'm trying to get into the playoff picture, because for me, if I'm the Rams, winning the NFC West, that's out of the conversation.
You're not going to win the West right now. You're just trying to figure out how can I get in the playoff spot? How can I get that seventh spot? And right now you got two teams in your own division that's going to make it. The North looks like there could be two, three. I don't know.
So you're trying to beat that third team in the NFC North, in my opinion. I just don't know how that happens with a limited roster and a hurt roster that.
They have, Isaac. So how do they keep pace? They hope that some guys fall off, they get hit by that lightning bolt, and that their cart can stop hitting some banana peels.
Yeah. Well, it's interesting.
If there's a game to try to get, you know, quote-unquote, back on track, it would be against the Chargers, right? Like, this is a moment where they can kind of figure it out. I'm not saying there's any easy games in the NFL, but at the end of the day, the Chargers have not.
Been playing well, so this is it. It is funny, though, this quote. It's like.
you know, they are 0% in the driver's seat right now. Like, when he's like, yeah, you can get humble, Jamie hit the nail on the head.
Like, yeah, you can get humble.
This has been a season of them getting humbled, and it's just been weird the entire season.
I think there's kind of two sides of this. The question was, what can they do to, you know... keep pace. They need their team, right?
Like they need to figure out how to have a game that has identity all across the board defensively.
We need, we need the pieces back. We need the Kobe's.
And the miles to be running on full cylinders and dominating Aaron Donald. You know, I think he's a piece that adds to.
Your D line and can distract the alignment.
I don't know that he's going to be, you know, the blue chip player that he once was before, but he helps a lot when it comes to opening up for other guys on the D line.
So I think they need their whole team. But the reality of it is.
And this is the other side of it, I mean, this is a team that could easily not make the playoffs. They just may not be a team this year because of what has happened. And that just happens in the NFL. You don't like to see it for Stafford, a guy who's coming.
Off of an MVP season.
But at the end of the day, they just might not be a team that we're talking about come week.
13 and week 14.
They're a team that's very beatable in that part of the season.
So.
We'll see. Their schedule coming up is favorable. It gives them a chance.
But if you can't make it out of this three-game stretch right now going into your bye week. With getting at least two out of the three wins of your next three games, then we're not even talking about them as a playoff.
Yeah, you know, when I look at the Chargers, right, this is one of those teams that you look at the Colts and they're kind of shipping everybody off, right? It's like, hey, we're trying to rebuild for next year. The Chargers are one of those teams that they're in that same kind of conversation. If the Chargers drop this game, I mean, you've got people, names like Derwin James, his name is, I mean, Mike G will probably know more about this than me.
Derwin's name is out there. Khalil Mack's name is out there.
It's like, this is another team that I think depending on how this game goes, they might start making some decisions too. So if you are the Rams, if you lose to that team, the Chargers who are backs against the wall, and this is like, man, are we planning our Cabo trip first week of November?
Okay.
That says more about the Rams, right? And now you're definitely, you should start planning your Cabo trip too, because it's not looking good for not only the Rams, but how the rest.
Of the NFC West is doing and obviously the North. So if you lose to this Chargers team that's hurting right now, that can't seem to find an identity offensively, that screams more about the Rams than the Chargers to me.
Last thought on the Rams before we close this trade discussion conversation with the NFC West is that we know what we know about the Seahawks and the Niners. Their identity, Isaac, to your point, has been clearly defined, and they just made themselves better. I still feel quite listless with the Rams.
I'm like, what are you about?
Who are you?
How do you make your team better? How do you go out and get guys if you don't know exactly who you are?
Yeah, and I think the problem that they ran into, Jamie, is they brought in a whole bunch of guys, right? Miles Garrett, you have all the additions they made this past offseason. And they depended on them to be their identity. The difference with the Niners and the Seattle Seahawks is when you bring in someone like Quinton Nilsen and DeForest Buckner, they're adding to an identity that has already been set.
Now you're the Rams.
You're depending on these guys to help you out. And they're no longer there. And it's not working.
And now it's like Isaac is like, who are we? We depended on these guys to do it. They're not doing it. Now what? And I think that's what they're stuck with.
Yeah, and I look at McVay too, right? Because McVay over the years, everybody has loved him, right? And his teams have had identity, but he's had really strong pieces there to set identity. This year, you look at McVay, even in the interview we just watched earlier, It's like, where is McVay.
In all this?
I want to see the identity come from McVay. Like the decision at the beginning of the year going to Australia. Some other decisions that have been made all year. It just seems like McVay is not comfortable this year. We know he's a great coach. We know he can do it. That's not a question.
But why does he look so uncomfortable this year? So I'm curious.
If they do lose to the Chargers, which would be a catastrophic loss for the Rams, what is McVay going to do?
Like, what does that look like?
I mean, we know he's got a lot of other stuff that he could do. Like, what does the McVay look like in Week 13 if they are not firing on all cylinders?
I think a lot of this is going to fall on him to bring this team together. What great identity.
You look at that, Jamie, right?
And the Rams, it's like all their main players, their star players are all transplants.
Yeah.
Right, like very few of the Puka, Juan, Kyron, that's it, right?
And Aaron Donald, but he didn't draft them. You know what I mean?
So like you're looking at all of these guys, you got them elsewhere. So it's hard, Jamie, to have that type of identity when you acquire these guys from other teams and you're trying to say, okay, now this is what we do at the Rams, make it happen.
It's just not working.
Speaking of transplants, Mike Garofalo, our insider with us today, once again has news about the Chiefs and potentially a new guy in town. Mike G, what do you got?
Now, potential, this is a done deal here between the Chiefs and Justin Tucker, the former Ravens all-pro kicker who has been trying out for teams, a bunch of teams, since last year. I remember last year he served a 10-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy following allegations of sexual misconduct with a bunch of masseuses in the Baltimore area. And I remember talking to teams that had Tucker in, I said, well, how did he say, well, I kicked well, but he was really going to have to be head and shoulders above some of these other guys to bring him in in light of everything that he had been accused of in the past. Well, the Chiefs with Harrison Butker struggling apparently had a few kickers in,
including Harrison Mevis, previously of the Rams, from my understanding, and decided to sign Tucker to the practice squad. You've got Harrison Butker, I'm sorry, Sonny Tucker to the practice squad. Harrison Butker struggling right now. Most of his missed kicks from beyond 50, but that's where we are in the NFL right now. You're expected to make kicks regularly from beyond 50.
So Justin Tucker comes in as.
Competition for Harrison Butker as part of the practice squad for Tucker here.
Chiefs will be asked.
About this one later on today when Andy Reid meets the media, I am sure. Tucker, after a series of workouts over the last couple of years, finds a new gig.
I can imagine he will be asked about that. Mike G., thank you very much. Moving on on our show. This Monday, we're saying in the NFC as the Chicago Bears head to the Pacific Northwest. This game's really fun. It was a leader in the clubhouse for what could have been the kickoff game of the season because it's such a great matchup, and it continues to be so in Week 8.
It's a Monday Night Football game of the week, 8 p.m. Eastern. Watch it on ESPN or the ESPN app. Seahawks, Bears, Sam, Caleb. They played each other a couple times at the NFC North as well. Still to come on our show this hour, despite many star players, talent, what have you, the Ravens still find themselves at the bottom of their division. What is the problem? Is it a big deal that this team hasn't quite found their footing through the first seven weeks of the season? You're seeing Lamar run there. Manti, we haven't seen him in a minute.
Hopefully we'll see him next week, right, Jamie, or this week.
Plus, Brian Flores and the Vikings defense are looking to take down the Lions and remain undefeated.
Can they keep, Jamie, the Poinsettia Palooza at bay?
Poinsettia Palooza, Game of the Week.
Come on jane.
Don't go anywhere we got good morning football on a wednesday i was waiting for that good morning football.
It's time for the fans to get.
We start this segment with Luda. We're going to end it with Jay-Z. You'll see what I mean at the end of sliding scale, okay? We got a couple questions from around the league. We'll start with the Dallas Cowboys. We have the guys' faces up here. They're going to put their face on the number on the sliding scale that they think about the following topics. For example, the Cowboys leaned heavily on the run game and Monday night's win over the Eagles as Javante Williams ran for a career-best 155 yards. Dallas gets back in the win column. So, Jerry Jones, what did you think of the Cowboys' front?
When you can block them up the way we were, then, man, a lot of things happen. We've heard that over and over again. This gives Dak every opportunity to make those plays and create some options against the defense. We had it going in full-blown prospect what we want to be. It was there last night. You saw some great play by our outside folks, our receivers. They blocked well as well. But, boy, I am proud of that offensive line.
Okay, now Jerry thinks the receivers blocked well. That's good for the Cowboys' wide receiver room. Sliding scale, 1 to 10. Knowing what you saw from the Cowboys on Monday night, what we've seen the first seven weeks of the season, how much do you trust, on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most, that the Cowboys will get a spot in this year's NFC playoff field?
Well, it kind of goes back to what I just talked about with the Rams situation and looking.
At the other divisions.
The thing about the Cowboys is in order for them to get to the playoffs, they've got to win their division.
If they don't win their division... I don't think they make it.
So right now where the Giants are.
He's on the move.
Slow and steady.
It is. I would say I'll put them right in the middle.
Right.
I think offensively they look good. They still questions defensively.
Right.
And I think the New York Giants are the best team. They're playing as the best team in that division.
There we go, James. I got the Cowboys making the playoffs at a five. They got to win the NFC East, though.
Look, it's Halloween.
As Jamie's adjusting my face, it's Halloween.
I'm going to be the villain. Guys, I'm over it.
I'm kind of over the Cowboys talk because here's the thing.
Thank you. Leave it at that.
I was going to put it low. This is my thing with the Cowboys. We talk about them all the time. It's like, here's another Cowboys talk. They had a good game. Okay, the receivers are blocking well. I don't want CD and George Pickens blocking well. I want them catching the ball. That's a whole side note. But here's the thing. When is the last time the Cowboys just went on a streak of four to five games plus where they're just consistently playing well? Sure, they beat the Eagles, who we don't even know who the Eagles are right now. I have low confidence, low confidence that they're going to make the playoffs.
The Cowboys will cowboy.
Cowboys look cowboys.
We should have put your face upside down for that answer as well.
I'm salty when I talk about them.
It's a problem.
It's a good point about the run. We just aren't ever like, yeah, November. They had a great November. It is constantly with the up and down.
Good point. Here we go again.
Yeah, exactly.
Jamie, don't be named or no?
I mean, sure.
Your face is up there.
My hair looks great.
In this photo. You could just be the all-seeing Jamie up top.
I'm going to.
I'm going to split the difference here. I'll flare closer to Manti. We'll buddy up like we do on the show.
I hear you.
It has more to do with the division than it does with how they actually play. And the NFC East is notorious for scooting teams in on the back end. It wasn't very long ago that the Commanders got in at like 8-9. Speaking of not being 8-9, the Vikings are undefeated.
Have you heard?
They're going up against a divisional opponent on the road this weekend, and they better pack their blitz and boots because Brian Flores knows Jared Goff has the potential to carve up any team.
Statistically, he's been one of the best quarterbacks. Not even statistically, period. He's been one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League over, you know, a good amount of time. And so, yes, he's grown quite a bit. And that's what you expect, you know, as guys. get more time under the belt, see more coverages, see more fronts, see more.
Blitzes.
You know, he's seen all the blitzes.
You know, he's seen them all.
How can a guy who calls a defense like that be so chill at the podium.
First of all?
It's very relaxing to listen to him, and then he'll just absolutely destroy you.
It's almost scary. Yeah, I know that.
Exactly.
So the Vikings are tied for the league lead with 21 sacks so far this season, while Jared Goff has been sacked 12 times, which puts him at tied for 17th across the quarterbacks right now. So take your face, put it on the number. How many times do you think Jared Goff will be sacked on Sunday by the collective of the Minnesota Vikings defense, Isaac?
So Jared Goff has been sacked at every single game this year. And last year he was.
Sacked five times at each of the Minnesota Vikings games. So I think that he's going to stay right here.
He's going to get sacked five times again. Brian Flores, I know he said that Jared Goff has seen every defense. Yeah, he's also seen you.
Guys sack him five times, ten times total last year. So I'm staying right there at five.
Isaac.
Hey, guys, I've been a part of games where our D-line has six, seven sacks. That was unintentional. We moved on from the six, seven thing. I'm going to go actually higher than you, man. If I can move my face all the way past everybody.
Let's go to seven. Because here's the deal.
These are the games that your D-line coach, he's like, guys, just trust the game plan. We're going to have our best week of practice. When third down day comes around, it's going to be the funnest day. These guys are fired up. And Flores, he's locked in. He's cool, calm, and terrifying.
He is cool, calm, and terrifying. So the most, I heard this last week.
Let's break a record.
The most in the season so far, the Jets sacked the Browns eight times a couple weeks ago, which, whoa!
Whoa! Whoa!
I feel about the Vikings. The Vikings make me explode. I don't think it's going to be eight. That was alarming.
You know what?
You need to go.
Go away.
You need to go. I'm not playing this game anymore.
We miss you. Stay in the game.
That was high stakes. Finally, get out of here. It was announced that Jay-Z will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl 61 halftime show. We all know there will be some guest performances. So, scale of 1 to 10, quantity 1 to 10, how many guest artists do you think Jay-Z will bring out? And bonus point, name one of the guests that you hope will be on stage with him.
Um, so the last time they had a Super Bowl in that stadium, they brought six artists.
Oh, right.
And if I am Jay-Z, I need to bring the Avengers out, okay? I gotta bring, I don't know, your wife. Bring out Beyonce, put her in there. I think they're gonna go eight. I mean, you could go J. Cole, bring him out. Eminem performed in the last one.
I don't care. Bring him. Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys. Bring them all out. Avengers assemble. That should be the people.
That are performing with Jay-Z over there.
I mean, bring your daughter out, too. She's also an artist. I say eight.
Do you guys know how Jay-Z was chosen?
Because he chooses?
Because Jay-Z chose Jay-Z. Okay, look, Jay-Z wasn't sitting in the room like, I'm choosing myself so I can bring out 50 million people.
Jay-Z is about to be like, it's my time. I've been waiting on this. You know what? Maybe the only person he'll bring out is Roger.
Maybe Roger Goodell will just be in the background just bobbing his head.
But that's it because Jay-Z chose Jay-Z.
That's true.
Yeah, what are we talking about?
It is like a strange style of announcement. You're like, heck yeah, Jay-Z.
What a choice.
Special little Saturday of college football to watch. First on deck on ABC. You got the number five. Playing Navy noon Eastern. That's your first option. Middle of the afternoon, a game they used to call the world's largest outdoor cocktail party. I'm not sure we call it that anymore, but sounds like a good time. Florida, Georgia playing each other on the SEC on ABC game. 3.30 p.m. Eastern, your kick. And then Saturday night football special. The number one Miami Hurricanes visiting the fight in Bill Belichick's in North Carolina, 7.30 p.m. Eastern is your kick. And we were hanging out with Irv on Monday. I wonder if Irv stops by.
For sure.
North Carolina for that game. All right, let's do big deal or no big deal. On GMFB, it's been a tough two-week stretch for the Baltimore Ravens. We've watched it unfold. Lamar Jackson has been sidelined with a high ankle sprain, and this past Sunday, the Ravens became the third team in NFL history to lose a game by 20 points after leading by 13 or more at halftime. They keep coughing up double-digit leads, and they don't have their quarterback to back them up and drive them down the field.
Now their head coach in his first year, Jesse Minner, is looking for this from the following from his players.
We have guys that care and want to do it right. But there's also moments in the game where it's like, who's the guy that's going to grab everybody together and get them together on the sideline? And so I think as a team, we're working through who that is, who is that person, or who are those players? But yeah, I think there's moments where we need a little bit more.
When you don't have your quarterback, that's one thing. But we're heading into week eight, and the Ravens and Jesse Minner is sitting there at that press conference saying that we're still looking for this leader on the field or in the locker room at the halftime to rally the troops. Isaac, is this a big deal or a no big deal to hear this from this team at this point in the season?
No big deal. No big deal.
Let's not take this where it doesn't need to go. Look, the Bengals had a historic comeback. I mean, that was crazy. So that's first off. So that's not to be overreactive about. Second off, a mature team will respond to this. If this team is truly mature, this is a call to action from your head coach that you respond to and you get better.
And at the end of the day, we've seen it before. When I look at the.
Ravens last year, the first five games, they were giving up 35 points a game.
Mm-hmm.
The second or excuse me, the second, like two thirds of the season that dropped all the way down. They were like top 15 in the league and points allowed.
Right.
So it just shows that this team has the fabric to improve and learn from what they've done and what they haven't done in the first part of the season and get better from it. We've seen the movie before. Let's trust the process. They retained a lot of the same people, a lot of the same staff.
They can do it. Also, I look around, I'm like, okay, you got Kyle Hamilton.
You got really mature guys like Kyle Hamilton who can bring a lot of leadership and respond to this. And then the biggest thing, which is obvious, and you just mentioned it, Jamie, Lamar Jackson is still on this roster. Like, Lamar Jackson coming back, playing, that changes the whole leadership vibe in the locker room and on the team. You know, you can only do so much on the sideline as a leader, right?
You're not playing.
But when you're going out making plays, it's all going to change for them in the next couple weeks.
Hmm, Isaac. It's a huge deal.
I've seen Drew Brees on a sideline with a hoodie lead and command.
An army with no leader heading.
Into battle is just target practice for the enemy.
That's all that is.
It's a huge deal that I'm not sure what's going on because I played with a man named Roquan Smith, who there Mike Linebacker is, and he's a great leader. So if Jesse Minter is questioning and trying to.
Figure out who that leader is, that's a little troubling to me. Now, for Jesse Minter.
If you don't have a leader, we just saw a few weeks ago Sean McVay pull his entire offense and sit him down and say, listen, this is what we're going to do in the middle of the game. And that is a team that has Matthew Stafford on it, Puka Nakua. They have dudes, but Sean McVay probably was in the same situation.
He was like, man, nothing's happening. Nobody's moving. There's no motivation. There's no juice. So I'm going to do it. It is.
It's a huge deal that a team that has so much talent. We just saw Calais Campbell on there. Calais Campbell has been playing since the 40s. And yet, still, they don't have a guy that they can put their finger on to say, man, when crap hits the fan, this is the dude that's going to be on the sideline, that's going.
To sit everybody and rile.
The reason why the Bengals came back in the second half is because a lot of people talked about Jamar Chase going in that locker.
Room and having a speech. As to what the expectation is for that offense. And then they come out there and they put up all the points.
So it is important to have a leader, a guy to say, this is what we're doing.
This is not what we're doing well. And this is where we're going to go. I think it's a huge deal.
I look at the leadership decision by the man saying these words at the podium to. speak on his team in this nature right now. It actually kind of shocks me. We just went after Brian Schottenheimer last week about calling out George Pickens, about using I several times in a statement and answers about his own team. And you have Minter.
And I like Jesse Minter. But maybe this is going to be a one-off, you know, first year as a head coach. He didn't really realize maybe how this could come across moment for him. But I'm shocked to hear him outwardly say, and now I want to know the nature of the question that he was answering. I'm shocked to hear him say, we're sitting at halftime and I need more leadership from the guys. Either he doesn't realize how incredibly tough that sounds as him being the head coach that he hasn't elicited a leadership response from one of the players, or he's actively calling somebody out in the room to step up, not name Lamar Jackson.
Both not good. Both not good.
It's both not great. So it's not big deal or no big deal. It's just like, it's not great, Ravens. Let's get it back on track. Again, sorry you have to play the Bills this weekend.
All right.
Two things can be true. The Vikings defense is incredible and terrifying, but the Minnesota offense is kind of incredibly terrifying to watch sometimes. They can't find the end zone. And sadly, their next four opponents are the Lions, the Bills, the Packers, and the 49ers.
Yeesh. We're a 6-0 team right now.
We found a way to win six games, but as we press onward, we want to be able to continue to show that we can win different ways and all while protecting the football, winning the field position, and continuing to show the play style that has held up for our team for six weeks.
If you froze that man's face, during any one of those moments, he looks stressed.
Yes.
Looks tight. We saw Joe Shane shoulders up here. That guy's leading the division. You got to drop them guys. You guys are winning.
Yep.
But the Vikings do have, look at him.
Oh my God. Yes.
Angst. The Vikings have the second fewest points per game by the final remaining undefeated team in a season in the last 50 years. Is that a big deal, Manti, or is it no big deal?
That's a huge deal, Jamie. That's a huge deal for so many different reasons. Number one, I know Coach Kevin O'Connell said that they're winning the field position battle. That's because your defense just continues to get stops and turnovers on that side.
Of the football field.
And what is frustrating is offensively, you're not having the ability to put the ball in the end zone.
And it's also a.
Big deal because you're going to run across one of those teams and you're playing four of them. That's... Your defense is going to have a rough day.
They're going to have a slow day. They're going to have a bad day, and it's going.
To require Kyler Murray, and I specifically say Kyler Murray, to put up some points.
This is another reason, and this is my last point, Isaac, that it's a huge deal. It's not like the Minnesota Vikings don't have wide receivers. It's not like they don't have a running back.
It's not like they don't have an offensive line.
They got it all.
They just need a quarterback. Like, it's just, like, so frustrating. It's like, you have all of these goodies right there, and it's like, I just don't have the guy to put it together. I have all of the best ingredients. It's organic. It's pasture-raised. Yet the chef in there is like, we got him off of Craigslist.
I just.
It just sucks, man.
It's a huge deal to me that Kyler Murray comes in there and he has all of the physical abilities, but for some reason it just hasn't clicked yet.
I'm hoping it does.
The best part is he hasn't turned over the ball. Hopefully he can put the ball in the end zone because if he does, those two together, it's going.
To be great.
Yeah, I'm going to go with no big deal. No big deal.
You're so chill today.
No big deal. That's fine. Guys, because here's the thing.
I could ask you some simple yes or no questions, and you would answer them perfectly.
And I'll answer them. Do they have the best defense in the NFL?
Yes.
Are they undefeated? Yes.
Do they have one of the best offensive-minded coaches in NFL history?
Facts. And do they have a clearly defined problem?
Yes.
What more do you want?
What's the solution?
That's for them to figure out. That's for KOC to figure out.
You have a receiver in Justin Jefferson who has not started off well, but look, he's there.
He's on the roster.
You have a running game that can get developed and get to the point.
You have Kyler Murray who's coming into a new offense.
Look, it might take half a season to figure out how your offense is going to click. The guy's done it before. What you don't want is a team sitting at.
3-3, and you're like, man, our offense isn't good. No, you're undefeated. You're the only undefeated team in the NFL. You've got the best offensive-minded coach in the NFL. Like, it's there. The pieces are there. Everything that you said I think makes a lot of sense for them.
It's just when is it going to happen and how long can you sustain the way you are.
They're doing it for a while. I mean, they're doing it, right?
Yeah.
So, I think they're in a good place.
And, again, their problem is defined and they have experts that can figure it out.
You're just a beacon of positivity.
I love you.
We love having you on.
Exactly.
We're going to play Buzz Off next. Speaking of being optimistic.
Yeah. You in?
Yeah.
You know I'm in. It is my game, Jamie. We brought Isaac here. This is my game.
Isaac's in here to take on Manti and buzz off.
Let's be optimistic this one, Isaac. I can't see, bro.
Competition, big dog.
Let's go.
Good morning, football.
The name of the game is Buzz Off on GMF Beat. New team, first four game, most scrimmage yards.
I'm going.
Saquon Barkley.
Incorrect.
Dang it.
What the hell is my buzzer?
I'll go to 2009 Broncos.
Atta boy.
Hey, Devontae. Adam, Jamie.
Look at me.
Look at me.
C's get degrees. I'm going C, Dustin Keller.
And it's a heck of a degree for you.
He going, he going, Jamie.
Let him go.
Let him go, Jamie. Aaron Rodgers.
Not even.
Dang it.
Cornell Tate.
You are correct.
Yeah, boy! Give me D for Dan Marino.
You are correct, Isaiah. Stand back. Okay, okay. Woo! Woo!
Buzz off, everybody.
Nice try, buddy. Next time.
It's tough to be in a work environment where you have to really convince these guys to be competitive in segments like.
This on TMFB.
Isaac, your first pass at buzz off, is it not?
I'm locked in. You see the power stance?
I do see the power stance in the sockless loafers is definitely a choice. Here we go. Question one.
It's a random call out, but all right.
We're going to start with the Vikings.
You know the rules.
Listen, guys, I'm locked in.
Kester, Isaac watches a lot of GMFP. He knows. Here comes the first question. Despite the Vikings scoring only nine offensive touchdowns this season, obviously they're the lone remaining undefeated team. Who is the only other team since the year 2000 that started their season 6-0 and they had fewer than 10 offensive touchdowns? Is it the A, 2006 Bears? Is it the B, 2015 Broncos, the C, 2013 Chiefs, or the D, 2009 Broncos?
I'm going D, 2009 Broncos, Jamie. That's wrong.
That is incorrect. I can run through the quarterbacks for you, too. Rex Grossman, Peyton Manning, Alex Smith, and Kyler Wharton.
Let's go Alex Smith. See you. Dang it.
It's also wrong.
Oh, my God.
Man, I had the right team, but the wrong year. It was the 2015 Peyton Manning Broncos who started 6-0, which is shocking because you wouldn't think of Peyton Manning. No, that defense was unbelievable. And that's what got them there with the success that they found this season. Peyton was towards the end of his career, obviously. And this team, they just needed him to stand up and dink and dunk his way to a Super Bowl, obviously. But they had a league-leading four TDs. through the first six weeks of the 2015 season, and they were 6-0.
The no-fly zone, that defense. No-fly zone. No points for me or you. We're good, 0-0.
I'm showing that shot plus low first.
Let's go.
We stay in the NFC North with Jared Goff, who threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns in their division win against the Packers. Goff now has 1,788 passing yards and no interceptions this season, which is the second most passing yards. in the first six games of a season without a pick in NFL history. Who holds the record?
Who has the most passing yards to start an NFL season with no picks against it? Is it A, the 2019 Russell Wilson experience? B, 2017 Alex Smith season? C, 2018 Drew Brees? Or D, 2011 Tom Brady?
Jamie, I'm going with the most accurate passer in NFL history, 2018 Drew Brees.
If you know him, you're right.
Oh, my God.
I'm kind of getting cooked right.
I'm getting cooked.
I'm honestly getting cooked right now.
No, no, no, no.
I don't need your sympathy. I'm trying to give you some help.
This is me versus me right now.
I'm trying to be a good host. That was great.
I didn't need that.
Isaac goes down one point.
He's like, no, I'm out.
I'm out. I'm like, hold on. This is just me getting my mind right.
All right.
All right.
Toon Breeze had 1,870 passing yards in the Saints' first six games of 2018, and he finished as the MVP runner-up to the Holmes that season, but he did lead the NFL in completion percentage of passer ratings.
Yes, mostly.
Hence the accuracy comment.
I was on that team.
Right. Okay.
I have faith in you, Isaac.
I don't.
Although the Raiders have lost four straight, wide receiver Trey Tucker has been putting up numbers. He had five catches for 103 yards and a touchdown last week against the LA Rams. That was his second game with 100 or more receiving yards this season.
Who was the.
Last Raiders wide receiver with at least two games of 100-plus receiving yards in a season?
I mean, I'm just going to go Devonta Adams.
That is an option. but it's not correct.
Oh, my God. I'm going, Jamie. I'm going. Amari Cooper.
Not an option and not correct either. Okay, so now we can go for one point.
It's a side note here.
We can still guess. A, Jacoby Myers. B, Brock Bauer. C, Devontae Adams. I'm back.
I'm going Jacoby Myers.
You are correct.
Let's go!
For one.
For one point, okay? We'll allow it. Jacoby Myers had, yeah, it still works, had three such games in 2024, his final full season with the Raiders before, of course, being traded to Jacksonville. 2024 remains his only career 1,000-yard receiving season. We almost just lost the game. I almost just lost all my cards.
Okay. Let's do it.
Moving on.
Let's do it.
Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden has had a breakout season so far, and he kept it up in week seven with six catches in his third straight game. However, he's had struggles as he leads the NFL with six drops this season as well. Who has the second most drops in the NFL this season?
Womp, womp.
Right now?
Drops.
Go ahead, and then give me my multiple choices. Marvin Harrison Jr.
Not an option and not correct.
Is it A?
Brian Thomas Jr., B, Tucker Craft, C, DK Metcalf, or D, Ashton Gentry?
Not correct.
Really?
The confidence level right now by the participants in the game, off the charts. Not correct.
Unfortunately, it goes back.
To the Raiders. It would be depressing if it was Tucker Kraft on the same team. Manti's fully sitting in another room in the set right now. It's Ashton Gentry. Despite leading all running backs with eight receiving TDs since the start of last season, Gentry has left some plays on the field in the past game.
He has five. All right, guys.
I'm not.
I feel like Dan Campbell right now. We're being a little reckless with jumping the gun. Let's let the options go out there. Let's let the options go out there.
It's one of these weeks where somebody at home is definitely winning.
I'm talking to myself.
Don't worry about it, i see you gm don't worry about it bonix got involved in the rush game this past week with a 62 yard touchdown run it's the second longest tv on a quarterback scramble in the next gen stats era on that run Knicks reached a max speed of 19.9 miles per hour, ninth highest among quarterbacks this season. Which quarterback has the fastest max speed reached this season?
I got to be aggressive. I got to be aggressive.
Okay, I'm going to go with randomly. I'm going with Bryce Young.
Randomly, not correct. Not an option either.
Okay.
Oh, my God.
I'm getting so annoyed.
Is it A, Caleb Williams, B, Kyler Murray, C, Jaden Daniels, or D, Jalen Daniels?
It's A, Caleb Williams.
God, you guys are often wrong and never in doubt. It is Kyler Murray, who despite averaging the fewest rush yards per game in his eight-year career, he's got wheels. He's got wheels, all right?
He just looks like he's not moving that fast.
He hits 21 miles per hour. On this one?
Yeah, now we're, like, criticizing the players. I'm like, he just looks like he's not moving.
That's not my fault.
That's not my fault. The run that Caleb had against the Panthers, he was taking off, so that's why I went. All right, come on.
All right, time on one.
After trailing 13-0 at halftime, the Bengals scored 35 unanswered points against the Baltimore Ravens this weekend. Joe Burrow had four passing touchdowns. This was his 11th career game with four more passing TDs. tied for the second most in the NFL over that span. Who has the most games with four or more passing TDs since 2020?
You reckless, bro.
Isaac?
Go for Isaac.
I can almost guarantee you where your brain is going.
Matthew Stafford.
Thank you. Give me that. Matthew Stafford, give me that.
God, how many times do I have to say not an option?
Oh, my God.
Not correct. Let's see the options.
Isaac, I'm trying to keep this segment, and you're about.
To get a chance.
Is it A, Josh Allen, B, Aaron Rodgers, C, Patrick Mahomes, or D, Dak Prescott?
Oh, I feel like I know the answer now.
Damien, I'm going to go with Dak Prescott.
That is not correct. It's Aaron Rodgers.
Shockingly.
This is so bad.
See what I meant about how it's not where your brain would actually go? He's got seven since 2020.
Moving on.
As we already discussed, Quentin Nelson was traded from the Colts to the reigning Super Bowl champion Seahawks. Nelson has three first-team All-Pro selections since being drafted in 2018. That is the second most among guards over that span. Who has the most first team all pro selection amongst guards since 2018? I'm just giving you the options. Don't even jump me on this.
I got it. I got it. You really don't.
You really don't.
Bentonio. No, no.
Stop.
Is it A?
Is it A?
It's that. It's that. Bentonio.
It's Bentonio.
It's time for the win.
Oh, my gosh.
Get out of here, bro.
Good job.
Get out of here, bro.
You know why?
Because the Golden Domers.
All right.
