Podcasts. Radio. News. The Stock Movers Report. Your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market. Harnessing the power of Bloomberg data.

I'm Carol Messer along with Tim Stenevik. Let's get to some stocks on the move at this hour. And back with us is Tatiana Daria. She's Bloomberg News Markets Live strategist. She's here in our studio. We have to talk about Bloom Energy.

Yes, a big mover today, down 11% here.

After earnings, they did boost revenue guidance and management sounded upbeat. But analysts, they are really zooming on those negative free cash flows and also high expectations.

Ahead of the front. After all, this is a stock that's up about 120%.

It's gotten pretty crowded, so expectations were really, really high. Free cash flow here, down $ 180 million, the biggest quarterly drop in more than a year. Executives, though, say this is not a demand issue. It is a timing issue and how quickly they can realize some of those revenues. As a reminder, this company sits at the center of the data market. Build out, data center build out, right?

They provide those fuel cell on-site systems that can be really quickly scaled, so they play a big role. But they have pointed to issues that their customers are having that are independent of them, which feeds into the election debate, right? We are having a political discussion about data centers, and that is important. rippling through all of these companies.

Yeah, if there's one thing Americans can unite on, both sides of the aisle, it's that they do not like data centers. That's what the polling has indicated.

Or high energy bills.

Or high energy bills.

No, exactly.

And maybe they see the connection between the two.

Brookfield Asset, the bulk of their revenues, American Electric Power, Oracle, Alphabet, I mean, Microsoft, CoreWeave, they all play into, certainly as some of their big customers.

So an interesting one to watch.

All right, let's go on over to GM.

GM, that stock is lower by 2%. It is on pace for its worst week in more than three years. And as we know, they have reported earnings earlier this week. So that move sort of extends the weakness. We also had some earnings from makers of car parts like Gentex and safety system Autoliv. Both of them also down after earnings, so a little bit of disappointment there, looming over the auto sector. But Wall Street is coming out to defend the stock, saying that it is overdone and investors should jump on this dip here. And if you look at valuations, it's really where the optimism lies, right? Forward P multiples have dropped to nearly about 30%.

The lowest since June 2025.

They're trading at a 5.3 handle.

I mean, it's.

Clearly that the stock has had some compression here in the past few trading sessions.

You mentioned optimism. We're seeing some optimism when it comes to cybersecurity names today.

Exactly.

I mean, it's one of the areas where there are bright spots or is some bright spots in the market today.

Yeah. And one of those players is Palo Alto Networks, up about 7%, leading gains among other peers.

That includes CrowdStrike and Okta.

And the backstory there is that a number of banks, airlines, and governments pulled down their websites this week. as a precautionary measure after cybersecurity researchers found vulnerabilities in this open source programming language that underpins much of the internet. We also heard from an anthropic researcher also warning that things will get worse before they're getting better. which is never reassuring to hear in this space. So this is just offering them fresh momentum. And if you look at those stocks, they're all higher by more than 100% this year. So this is one part of the software basket that is doing really, really well.

It has momentum.

There's one ETF with the ticker BUG. That's also with the ETF space, right? These baskets of security stocks.

The GlobalX cybersecurity ETF, BUG.

I love it.

Is that what your gainer said?

It should be a gainer.

It might be.

Okay, good.

Good stuff. Interesting.

Bad news is good news for certain sectors. Tatiana Daria, Bloomberg News, Markets Live strategist. Highly recommend to Tatiana. Her Markets Live chart talks about the AI bubble has already lost much of its air. So it takes a look at some of the aggressive selling that we've seen in the chip sector and showing that the market boom has already fizzled substantially. Highly recommend you check it out.
