Shownotes
On this episode of Stock Movers:
- Deckers Outdoor (DECK) shares shares slide as much as 8.4%, the most intraday in about a year, after the owner of the UGG and Hoka brands cut its full-year net sales guidance to below consensus. Analysts note that US consumer demand remains challenging.
- T-Mobile (TMUS) shares fall. Tower companies gain and wireless carriers slide after SpaceX was said to be targeting 80,000 or more US cell sites, with talks underway with at least one infrastructure owner.
- Moderna (MRNA) shares drop. Moderna Inc. and Merck & Co. shares plummeted after data on the companies' personalized melanoma vaccine wasn't enough to prove to investors that a new era of cancer treatments has arrived. The vaccine, given with Merck's Keytruda, slashed the risk of cancer recurrence by 42% and reduced the chances of distant spread by 38% in a trial of over 1,100 patients.

The Stock Movers Report, your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market, harnessing the power of Bloomberg data.
Let's get a check on some stocks on the move right now. We are joined by Maria Clara Cobo. She is a Bloomberg crypto reporter, and she's got three stocks on her radar.
What are you looking at? Thank you both for having me. I am looking at Decker's Outdoor, and this is the company behind Uggs, the famous boots. And it's down about 8% after it cut its sales outlook for the year. And Nugs were the shoe when I was growing up, but they've actually made a pretty impressive comeback lately. But still, investors aren't really loving what they're hearing about sales. Decker's raised its earning forecast, but part of that boost comes from a one-time benefit from tariff refunds.
Okay. What else have we got?
We've got T-Mobile.
Yes.
And this one is all about SpaceX. T-Mobile, Verizon, many wireless companies are down about 3%. And so Elon Musk's company is reportedly looking to buy about 80,000 cell sites across the U.S. And that could potentially lay the groundwork for them to become one of the largest nationwide wireless carrier.
And that could mean a pretty important new competitor for the big telecom companies. So investors are already getting a little bit nervous about that.
I go back to what you're saying about how he's making a lot of moves right now. Elon Musk.
Yes.
Before the end of the Trump administration.
Yeah.
Because he's got a friend in office. Yep. Yep. So move fast, break stuff and see how it goes.
One more. Moderna.
Yes, Moderna is down about 4%, and this would extend a pretty dramatic sell-off that started on Thursday. Investors were really anticipating data from Moderna's melanoma vaccine with Merck, but it was leaked online before the scheduled presentation. And the results were actually pretty good. The vaccine reduced the risk of cancer returning by about 42%, but investors had built up such high expectations that apparently good wasn't necessarily good enough.
