Shownotes

On this episode of Stock Movers:
- General Motors (GM) shares fell as shareholders focused on a narrower profit outlook despite plans for another $20 billion in stock repurchases. The company now sees 2026 adjusted earnings before interest and taxes in a range of $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion, compared with the $14 billion to $16 billion range it projected in July. GM's board approved the new round of buybacks, which will be funded on an ongoing basis over a multi-year period of time, adding to the $29.5 billion already spent by the company buying back its shares since 2023.
- CoreWeave (CRWV) shares are down as concerns over the AI cloud provider’s rising borrowing costs and heavy debt continue to weigh on investors.
- Braze (BRZE) shares gain. Salesforce Inc. has agreed to buy Braze Inc., an artificial intelligence-powered platform for marketers, for almost $5.7 billion in enterprise value. Salesforce will pay Braze investors $47.50 per share, it said in a statement on Tuesday. That represents a 58% premium over Braze’s closing stock price on Monday. The deal is expected to close in Salesforce’s fiscal 2028, which begins in early February.

Bloomberg Audio Studios. Podcasts. Radio. News. The Stock Movers Report. Your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market. Harnessing the power of Bloomberg data. Let's take a look at some of the stocks on the move today. We can do that with Bloomberg's Ann Guillen, Bloomberg's earnings reporter. Boy, we're going to need your help this week. We've got a lot of earnings this week.

Yes, it's earnings season for sure. And one of the companies that I'm looking at this morning, GM, they just reported this morning, they trimmed the upper end of their profit guidance and investors didn't like that very much. They are down as much as 7.5% this morning, which And GM, they're still benefiting from a lot of really steady demand for bigger cars like SUVs, pickup trucks, but they are still finding themselves pretty constrained. A lot of consumers are just basically priced out of buying new cars right now. Yeah, especially when you decide to go bigger and more expensive and protect your margins at the expense of other things.

Yeah, I love to just ask these car companies, what are you doing with EVs again? Like, are you at I know it's very confusing. Because they don't make any money.

You sell an F-150 and you make a great profit margin. So I don't know how that all works.

What else you got for us? Yeah.

The next stock that I'm looking at is CoreWeave, which is ticker CRWV. It is down as much as 6% this morning. And CoreWeave has had a bumpy ride over the past several days. It's down around 17% over the past three trading days. And that it's down this morning off the back of that neocloud IPO in Korea. But questions have been kind of swirling about what the future holds for CoreWeave for a while at this point. And really coming into focus is what's going on with its debt.

Yeah, big question marks there, especially with the CDSs surging on that.

What's your last stock? Last stock is Braze, which is ticker BRZE. That is up as much as 51% this morning after Salesforce announced a deal to acquire them. Braze makes marketing software. So all of those text messages and emails that you get giving you a discount code or reminding you that you left something in your cart, Braze makes all of that software. So Salesforce continuing to build out its software portfolio. And Braze and a lot of these other kind of marketing technology companies were seen as big AI losers, and that that's something you could easily replicate with AI. So it will be interesting to see not only what Salesforce does with Braze, but also what happens to Braze's competitors, like HubSpot, which is ticker H-U-B-S,

and Klaviyo, ticker K-V-Y-O, you know, if there's room for them to keep growing or, you know, what they should do next.
